    Good location. Easy access. Heavenly beds. Heavenly toiletries. Very old building with poor infrastructure. Elevators broke down and guests had to take the stairs. But lights went out when guests were in stairwells. Also reading lights did not work in the bed frames.

    Did not use the amenities, so that’s why I gave the amenities 3 stars. Overall, would recommend. With the World Cup, NBA playoffs, Puerto Rican Day, 5 Seconds of Summer concert all colliding on one perfect weekend, the Westin Staff never broke a sweat. Everything was seamless and professional. Great location, safe and comfortable.

    Location is perfect. It was the best priced hotel that was nice out of dozens I looked at. Restaurant and bar in the hotel. We got back from a concert at 11 and all of the elevators were not working. There was 100-150+ people in line for an hour waiting. My mother had 3 knee surgeries. Walking to the 36th floor was not an option. It was not a pleasant time but things happen. It was not the hotel’s fault, it just happened and although we were all annoyed, it was remedied by midnight. An inconvenience but the staff handled it well. I recommend this hotel and definitely would stay again.

    The men working valet parking were great, friendly, very helpful and so were the men who helped with luggage. Location was great. Restaurant prices were average, so was the front desk staff at checkout. The checking staff were slightly more friendly but none were overly welcoming. I stayed here before and the front desk staff was great. Not sure what happened.

    Great location, friendly staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, and nice facilities. They also held our bags after checkout, which was really helpful. Great stay overall. There aren’t trash cans on the room floors near the elevators, so trash can build up sometimes. The restaurant was also disappointing, the staff didn’t seem to know the menu well, you couldn’t order over the phone, and the service wasn’t great. That said, the hotel itself and the bar were excellent.

    We chose the Westin over several less expensive alternatives because of the consistently positive experiences we have enjoyed with your brand in the past. Unfortunately, this stay fell well below the standards we have come to expect and has left us questioning whether we will return in the future. Upon arrival, my wife was greeted by a check-in agent whose manner was noticeably unfriendly and dismissive. The agent barely looked up from her screen, interrupted my wife while she was speaking, and was unable to clearly explain an additional charge that appeared on the reservation. This charge had not been encountered during previous stays, and the lack of a satisfactory explanation only added to the frustration. The room was clean upon check-in, and housekeeping service after the first night was generally acceptable, aside from mismatched pillowcases. However, following the second night, it appeared that housekeeping standards had deteriorated significantly. The bedding did not appear to have been changed, the bathroom counter had not been wiped down, and the desk surface was also left uncleaned. When my wife raised these concerns with reception, she was informed that the hotel had experienced a “high volume of guests” that day. While we understand that operational pressures can arise, this explanation does not excuse a failure to provide the basic level of cl

    Great location near Grand Central with easy access to transportation and major attractions.     The room we were assigned had a musty odor, like clothes that were left in the washer too long. It was mild enough to not be an issue, but on the second day, we noticed the peeling of wallpaper and part of the reflective coating on the mirror was missing. That definitely didn’t help. The final straw was when I went to grab the last washcloth on the third day, there were tons of beard trimmings on the underside that were left there by a previous guest (my daughter and I definitely didn’t do it). That was quite disappointing but it was already so late in our stay that there wasn’t much we could do about it. They really need to clean better and update their rooms.

    Staff wasn’t too helpful or very nice. Good location. Clean and comfortable room. They charged us a destination fee. We were supposed to get 17.50 in credit per day for food in their restaurant . Breakfast was 45.00 each. So, we chose a couple coffees and went on our way. They didn’t charge the room for the coffee, so we couldn’t use the credit, so ended up paying 17.50 for two coffees. Quite the racket. Don’t think we will stay there again.

    I love the location less than a mile away from Time Square and New York attractions. Convenient transportation as Grand Central Station is literally right there.     Room was spacious enough considering what people say about other hotels in NYC. Staff was as friendly as you will get in NYC, they were courteous changed me from a king to 2 queens per my request without a hitch. Also, the room they originally gave me the carpet was still damp and they just sent me 2 keys for another room immediately and were apologetic. I was very impressed with their service. Also, left our luggages with the bell service since we got to the hotel in the morning and left it again on our checkout date so we could go out in the meantime we left in the afternoon. They were great about that as well

    Everything was great, the food in the bar/restaurant area is very overpriced for very basic dishes. Breakfast buffet $35 per person, food was not hot, sub par taste.     Excellent location, right near the United Nations and Grand Central. Beautiful lobby, great food and drinks at the bar. The bartender was so nice! She offered great recommendations and was geniunely friendly. So was the front desk staff. Super helpful all around. I had a King room and it was very roomy. Lots of natural light. Spacious bathroom, comfy bed. Very clean. I would absolutely stay again!

    The hotel needs to be updated. The mirror in the bathroom was damaged. They have no toiletries. You have to request slippers. They charge you a resort fee of $40.00 per night!!! Prices at the restaurant are way to expensive for the quality.

    The ambience of the hotel is great. Elevators were clean and took no time to go up 30 floors. The rooms were clean and housekeeping kept everything stocked up and fresh smelling.     Fairly Clean room, sevice good, consistent for a Marriott property , however the property is older and the wear and tear on guestroom was evident from the closet door that had a chip of wood in the front to the bathroom tub faucet that had a big chip of tile ....bathroom could use a deep clean the water and mildew build up on both shower heads showed through, not a reflection on the room attendents job. It's the fact it needs a deep clean. Having stayed a many Westin's I was surprised to see some of this. But all in all it was alright

    I believe this hotel can do better. They are in a very central location close to Grand Central Station. I liked the comfort of the mattress and the room was clean. The bathroom had some issues in the first room we got. There was water flowing in reverse into the bath and bringing dirt with it. They changed our room and the other room was fine. A “destination fees” was added that could have been included in the reservation fees paid to Orbitz for the booking.

    The Front Desk staff was incredible, helping out with Man managing our connecting rooms traveling with four kids. The location is great. The facilities were clean and up-to-date. I would not hesitate to stay at the Western Grand Central on my next visit.

    The next morning I complained to front desk and was sweetly asked if I couldn’t sleep it off with the noise. Anyway, we were given another room. Secondly the first nite, we asked for additional towels and robes at the front desk- service came up with the towels but no explanation why no robes. 3rd nite in the new room, we asked for additional towels- front desk said she has no assistant and that we should just call for it. There was no line for her at all, so it’s obvious she didn’t want to do it. Simple thing like that should be accommodated coz some people are more comfortable doing it in person than making a phone call. To me that was a huge disappointment on service. The service guy that brought the towels was very courteous and sweet. Lastly, I was overwhelmingly overcharged, huge discrepancy, which I discovered upon reaching home. I called and spoke to the manager- she said she adjusted the charges from 600 to 120.51. So I have yet to get email on it.

    Very overpriced Westin that is more like a lower-end Marriott. We paid extra for the sofa bed, only to be told that we need to make our own bed (they just dumped a set of bed sheets in front of us). We were misled when we weren't given the daily beverage and food credit, even though the check-in counter staff told us we'd receive it as long as we bought food/drinks from their restaurant. Very disappointing given that I've been a member of Marriott for a very long time.

    I especially want to recognize Deidre at the front desk. She was wonderful so welcoming, kind, and very detailed when explaining everything the hotel offers. Her hospitality and warm smile made our check-in experience memorable. The hotel also surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake for my daughter, which was such a thoughtful touch and meant a lot to us. This morning, Friday, February 20th, it’s rainy, and they even offered complimentary umbrellas for guests. It’s little details like this that really stand out. Every time we’ve come in and out of the hotel, the staff has been friendly and welcoming, which has made us feel right at home. If you’re visiting New York City and looking for a place to stay, this is a great option. It’s close to everything but not right in the middle of the Times Square crowds, which we’ve really appreciated. The area is clean, and the hotel itself has been wonderful so far. I’ll definitely be updating this review and leaving another one after our stay, but I wanted to share this now because I’m already so impressed and excited for the rest of the weekend.     We stayed 4 nights. Not one day did we have a hot shower. Luke warm at best. On the third day we got a later start leaving the room around 12:30. I came back after about an hour and they were just finishing cleaning our room. The cleaner asked me if we were going to leave earlier the next day so she could get in and clean. I explained that we checked out the next day so we would be gone by 11:00. She said ok. The next morning we received a knock on the door before 9 am even though we had the do not disturb sign out asking when we were leaving so they could clean the room. My husband told her we would be out by 11:00 which was check out time. Our flight left later in the day so we had them hold our luggage. The man that helped with the luggage was not friendly or nice and had a very negative attitude. In fact in all of our coming and goings no one ever said "hello" or "welcome" or anything. The bright spot was a lady that worked the counter who always had a smile and who was always friendly and nice. I was excited to stay here but probably wouldn't recommend after this visit.

    The staff was incredible. Everyone was very kind and accommodated all of our needs. I had a surprise engagement for my now fiancé during our trip, and once the staff knew about this they did everything in their power to make our stay as special as possible. They even delivered complimentary champagne with a few chocolate covered strawberries the day of the proposal! Very pleased and will definitely be back.

    I had a wonderful time at the Westin Grand Central. The rooms were clean and neat. The service was amazing. The breakfast buffet was a little overpriced, but The quality was excellent. To make it even more amazing, Eve Melendez and her team had a wonderful gift and a card my daughter when we arrived. She was amazing throughout our trip to New York City.     We loved it here! I don’t know why so many other reviews said the staff wasn’t friendly… we had very friendly staff when we were there! Everyone was super friendly, the hotel is super convenient and easily accessible right by Grand central. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and actually pretty spacious. We are Bonvoy members and had to call down daily for our water bottles but besides that and some very loud next door neighbors that had a party late night and we had to all security for, those were our only two negative things I could say. The bar was nice and good for late night drinks. I wish there was a restaurant on site but there is many close by. However we would definitely stay here again and can’t wait to come back!

    They charge a surprise “destination fee” which is $40 per night which is only told to you when you get there, but staff is super unhelpful and treat you differently for booking through Expedia, I asked if I can get any kind of late checkout, the lady said no not at all because of Expedia, then I called and spoke with another employee and said yeah I can give you an hour later “but next time speak with the front desk about any requests”, I also feel stereotyped by this hotel when I went to the front desk and I said I have a question, then the lady immediately responds “is it about the incidental hold”, why did she automatically assume I had a money question, please keep looking around for other hotels, the bathroom showers are small and you have to be lucky to get a decent view of the city despite us being on the 26th floor

    From the time we checked in till the time we left the stay was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious and clean the staff was very friendly. Loved having a great city view. The beds were comfortable the breakfast was amazing this place has all the amenities you would need. It’s close in walking distance to most things but if your not up for walking your right next to the train to get you where ever you need to go. The only disappointment (not really) was the pillow we never could it to be comfortable. Other than that will definitely consider this hotel again for future stay in the city!!

    Poor service, my room wasn’t serviced once and I was there for 6 nights. Notified the managers everyday, they did nothing about it. One manager was amazing she gave us a new room. The new room was not serviced again for 3 days. Manager named Ashley showed a lot of attitude when we complained about the room not being serviced as my husband has a skin problem. We need to change sheets daily. Ashley continues to show attitude and say,”Umm, why do you need you sheets changed after 1 night?” If a customer asks for something it should be done. There’s no exception for judgement or comments of that sort. Do yourself a favour and never book here. We come to New York 6 times a year and we will not be coming back. Horrible service.

    Check in was less than ideal as told would need to wait until late afternoon to get adjoining rooms , would get call when rooms available -never got call . Rooms not adjoining or even adjacent . After that all staff terrific and stay very enjoyable . Breakfast area too small for large number of guests with free breakfast voucher. Had to wait for 35 minutes to get seated on Sunday morning and still party of 5 had to split up.

    We booked a premium bedroom expecting more space (33 m² vs 28 m²), but instead got a small room plus a large L-shaped entrance corridor... essentially an expensive hallway, not usable living space. There were also no complimentary water bottles in the room... you have to request them. The hotel is called Grand Central because it’s close to the station, but it also feels like it. With 41 floors and about 25 rooms per floor, it’s extremely crowded. In the morning, it can take up to 10 minutes just to reach the lobby because elevators are always full. Breakfast is another challenge: unless you arrive very early, getting a table is difficult, so we often chose to eat elsewhere. Service was disappointing. It took multiple requests to get basic things done: the sofa bed wasn’t prepared on arrival, and when it was, only a tiny blanket was provided. Pillows arrived in stages, and water bottles required several reminders. With over 770 rooms, the hotel clearly struggles to deliver attentive service. Finally, don’t forget the $40/day destination fee. And if you have a car, park elsewhere... $140/day for parking is bonkers. We parked two blocks away for $50/day. We will definitely choose another hotel next time we visit Manhattan.

    Pricey all around but somewhat expected due to location. It was just unfortunate that the staff was unable to accommodate my daughter who was celebrating her BD with (1) a BD treat, especially since they 1st assured us that they would; (2) with a comforter to sleep with after all the money we paid to stay at the property. She was uncomfortable all night long - the pullout bed (mattress) was terrible (very dirty, old, smelly and super uncomfortable). Overall, beautiful property and very courteous staff

    We had a great stay at the Westin during the Christmas week past. The hotel was packed and believe its full house but the staff tried their best to maintain the service that we expect from a Westin. Housekeeping had been excellent as we look forward to clean rooms every night we returned. Rooms were clean, showers are well maintained and air conditioning was working very well so my family was kept nice and warm during this cold Winter. Location is excellent, near subway and food around us. We will come back again!

    Never again. The breakfast was awful. The staff during breakfast rude. The only kind person was the bus boy that one day worked 12 hrs if not more. The hotel gave us vouchers to use for our meals. I misplaced one of mine. I can’t get another one. The front desk rude disrespectful. For this price. Find another hotel. That will treat you with respect Never again.

    On arrival at 11:30pm, the room had only a king bed and a small sofa—no sofa bed. Promised extra bedding never arrived, so my son, my wife, and I (all around 6'0", with my son 16) were forced to share a single king bed the first night. The next day, the manager moved us to a 2-queen room. The first night, which was the highest-priced ($655.20), was only partially compensated with a $200 adjustment. The first night caused significant inconvenience.

    I would not recommend The Westin New York Grand Central based on my recent stay. For the premium, holiday-level rates I paid, the service and professionalism were nowhere near Westin standards. From the moment I arrived, the experience was disorganized. My original reservation was canceled internally by Veronica, and the “updated” confirmation she sent me did not exist in the system. This created unnecessary confusion for me as a guest traveling with small children. We were also promised connecting rooms with double beds—instead, we received two mismatched rooms (2314 and 2315) that only shared a hallway and did not meet our needs. When I asked for help, staff members became defensive and passive-aggressive instead of solution-oriented. The customer service was consistently poor throughout the stay. To make matters worse, after checkout I was told conflicting information regarding the belongings I left behind. Hotel staff claimed UPS had already picked up my items and that a driver “confirmed” having them—yet no driver name or verification was provided, and UPS had no record of the pickup. The lack of transparency, accountability, and follow-through has been extremely frustrating. For the Westin brand—and especially for the astronomical holiday pricing—this level of service is unacceptable. I had hoped to make this trip an annual tradition for my family, but after this experience, I cannot recommend this property.

    The house keeper was lovely. She was kind and friendly and respectfully. However the hotel smelled, the bathroom looked beat up and very old and gross. One of my rooms wasn’t ready until 10pm. The front desk staff was rude. And I just did not like my stay there. But maybe that’s just Newyork.

    Ive just returned from staying here with my son for my 50th burthday.We each had our own rooms and both were very clean and spacious.The staff were all very friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble.Location was perfect with Grand Central approx 10minute walk.The beds were very comfy which was ideal after having a long day with all the walking.

    The room was clean and spacious. They decorated beautifully for the holidays. Location and staff was great too. 5 minute walk to Grand Central, 15 minute walk to Bryant Park. Overall very good hotel. I would recommend keeping the restaurant/bar open past 10:30 since it's NYC. Visitors should also know that they have an additional $29 per night fee that's not included in the base price. This includes some ammenities, but for us they were unnecessary (i.e free drinks, credit toward dry cleaning...etc).

    Cold and uninterested staff checked us in, room didn’t have any body soap despite asking three times. TV didn’t work most of the time. Possibly the worst breakfast I’ve had in a hotel; more like a canteen than a hotel breakfast. Lowest quality ingredients produced tepid pancakes and an overwhelmingly underwhelming experience. Baggage staff were unpleasant and unhelpful. I’m genuinely quite easy to please but this was a truly 1* experience. Only redeeming feature - the room is a good size and the beds were comfortable. Would not recommend.

    Beautiful bed and room. Polics sirens off and on through the night kept me awake, even with ear plugs and white noise machine. I am a light sleeper and it was Saturday night. Staff pretty nice but seemed rushed. Overall nice but wouldn't stay again bc of the noise.

    1. The biggest—when I checked in, there was a “hold” put on my card of an extra $300. It was for incidentals, but it wasn’t explicitly said, so I thought that the property had a huge fee & was upset about that initially. The staff explained when I questioned & I was relieved, but I feel that should have been explained properly upon check-in, or written somewhere in the booking fine print. Maybe that’s my own inexperience with booking hotels. 2. The room was lovely, but there was only 1 large towel for showering. The room technically fit 3 (King bed for 2 & a pull out couch), so I would expect there to be a minimum of 3 towels. Unfortunately, I did not realize that there was only one towel until the next morning, just 2 hours before check-out. A small thing, but slightly disappointing. 3. Getting breakfast the next morning was strange. Again, maybe this is my inexperience with hotels—I don’t book often, but you had to wait to be seated for breakfast, almost like a restaurant. Every other hotel I’ve been to has an open plan & you can grab whatever you’d like for breakfast without checking in with anyone first. I just found it strange to have a host sit you & a waiter get you a drink when it was buffet style. If I’m getting my own food anyway, can’t I just get my own drink too? The food was fine, nothing exceptional. Overall: clean, kind, & what we needed!

    This is the "Grand Central" of Westins. It has the feel of an airport hotel that gets too much use. The lobby is big, open, an chaotic. Typical small NYC rooms. Really in need of a remodel. Not your typical Westin level hotel. To be clear--not bad either. Just not at the typical level you expect from a Westin.

    Front desk employees and restaurant staff were very nice. Room lighting was poor and our shower tub was a little clogged. The tub also had flaking paint chips.

    Overall everything was clean, but a bit shabby, the wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom door got caught on the toilet. The breakfast was pretty horrible and can’t believe that we spent $100 on it. The staff was amazing.

    Great location. You are in walking distance of main sites. The hotel staff is super friendly and nice. It’s a great hotel. The only issue for me were the beds and sheets. They were not comfortable. Other than that. Would totally recommend and I will be staying here again

    I enjoyed my stay at The Westin New York Grand Central. The hotel staff at check-in was friendly and informative. Deirah was wonderful! She mentioned she has been working there for 40 years! The room was clean. I stayed 4 nights and each day the room was reset cleanly. Location is great. I did not want to be too close to Time Square but not too far. This is my 3rd time to NYC and this has been my favorite hotel in the heart of Manhattan and will be coming here again. I was given complimentary breakfast for the number of nights I stayed there. However, dining room was packed every morning. I was happy that I could redeem for food & drink at the cafe so the vouchers were not wasted.

    We loved our stay at the Westin. It's a wonderful, busy hotel in a great location, only 3 minutes from the nearest subway station. There's also plenty of dining/shopping within a 10 minute walk. We will definitely consider the Westin Grand Central again for our next New York trip.

    The bathroom had mold in it! No fans in bathrooms, mold on floors and ceilings. Beds were not very comfortable- not soft like most hotel beds. I had to call about the fridge in room not working and instead of help - I was told just keep flipping light switches until it kicks on. Then randomly someone dropped two water bottles off because i called? We had one and a half rolls of toilet paper for 6 days and two adults. Only given 2 towels and wash cloths. I am used to rooms that provide at least two towels per guest. It is a busy location, lots of food access. Oh and we were offered 12 free drinks or breakfast for 3 times (when we were staying for 6 full days???) The staff was friendly- but the hotel itself was not worth it for $3k.
