We had the misfortune to get a room with a tub this time, which I will now request not to get next time. The tub is hazardous getting in and out of , and all we needed was the shower. Plugs are under the night stand and not easily accessible to charge your phone. Beds are too low and too close to shower/ tub window, so difficult for the person on that side of bed to get in or out.

The front desk check-in person named Melissa was an excellent person to deal with. She helped us immensely, and we really appreciated her taking the time to care about us as an older couple. also, the employee named David was especially helpful because he took care of getting a taxi for us. He had to work hard to get one. He went out of the way to help us with our luggage and rolled it down the street for several blocks, going beyond his duty.

The check in and first day was OK. The hotel was fun/quirky. The view was fantastic. The rooms on one side have a HUGE noise issue. There is a nightclub below the property that plays very loud and deep bass music until the early hours. The hotel does not appear to have any sound insulation.

Had an amazing stay at The Standard, High Line over the weekend. I stayed in the Studio Suite and the view alone made the entire trip worth it, easily one of the best hotel views I’ve had in Manhattan. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better from check-in to check-out. The property itself is in an excellent location surrounded by some of the best parts of the city. This will definitely be the only hotel I stay at whenever I’m in the city. Also there were plenty of towels in the room and while I’m sure things like that typically go unnoticed, it was something I greatly appreciated so thank you.

The location is definitely safe and excellent Unfortunately, this time I left the hotel disappointed, despite always enjoying my previous stays here. I specifically chose and paid for a higher-category room based on the photos shown, only to be told upon arrival that the images were incorrect due to a Booking.com issue — although the mapping mistake was clearly on the hotel’s side. As a result, I could not stay in the room I had booked and paid for based on those visuals. The receptionist at first was quite rude and unwilling to listen. Although the team later tried to help, they never truly resolved the issue or offered any meaningful compensation/refund. Offering 50 USD felt far from adequate. In addition, the room was extremely dusty due to the carpet flooring and the cleanliness was below expectations. The only real positive is the excellent location. Overall, sadly, it was a very disappointing experience.

Hotel is fabulous; Staff was great, other than some issues with noise and Clorox smell from toilet on last day, it was wonderfully fun experience. Its worth going just to see the films in the hotel elevators. 10 stars for the creator of that video. Location is good for getting around Chelse, So HO, Village area. Right next door to the Whitney Museum which museum should be seen. 4 choices for restaurants, just a fun vibe.

The Standard is great is you want a good location and are coming to NYC to party. If you’re looking for a calmer hotel to have a good night’s sleep - I wouldn’t recommend. Too low of a floor and you’ll hear the bars below. Too high of a floor and you’ll definitely be disturbed by the nightclub on the roof (whose idea to put a major nightclub on the roof of a hotel..). Love the area, hotel room interiors are pretty nice, generally too loud for me, oh and after the second time using the elevator - the sound effects and visuals will make you want to gauge your eyes out.

Great location and upscale, trendy vibe. The age of the hotel shows though. 16th floor on the side under the Le Bain club is still to close and you can hear the club. Works if you already plan on being out in the city.

Location. Amazing views from every room. Great breakfast in the standard grill. Comfortable bed. Rooms on the small side, little hanging and no drawer space for clothes or place to store luggage. No privacy in bathroom due to massive fully clear window overlooking the bed.

Unfortunately, the wait for the room was untimely. Also, the room design is very impractical for more than one person. . No storage, no where to place things, no where for folded clothes. Over all, a very impractical design flaw, especially for a traveling guest that has a suitcase full of clothes. Also, showering in the dark sounds romantic, yet it also isn’t very practical ;-(

Room layout is dated and there’s a fair amount of deferred maintenance. Room had few amenities. No place to store used towels (some hooks or racks would be nice). Not much room for clothing/luggage. Uncomfortable furnishings and funky design. LOVELY views and very polite and professional front desk agents. Check out and check in we’re both swift and smooth. Great location with good shopping and dinning very close by.

Rooms are beautiful but the front desk staff are so empathetic. They make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them when asking for something basic fixed like hot water for the bath tub. Even when you tell them every day for 5 days, they’ll tell you they’ll get it fixed, not fix it, and then proceed to never follow up about it. And I’m the a-hole, right? Sure some things were comped but never felt whole or cared for.

It’s changed. I hate to be that person. I got a room next to the gym (great no problems as I used it and that was super convenient). Start with the dealbreaker: no hot water. It would constantly remain lukewarm so it wasn’t enjoyable to bathe. The room also did not get warmer adjusting the thermostat and combined with the cold shower, heating was definitely off. I stayed one night so didn’t bother to call but paired with the older room with lots of scratches, the experience has gone down. Still very grateful they allow dogs for free and it’s our selling point and staff is kind but the rooms and quality are not great anymore.

This was my first time staying in your hotel and since I travel to the city at least 6 times per year I thought I would try The Standard. The staff was excellent upon arrival. The room was larger than expected for a NYC Hotel,it was clean and smelled great but the bathroom tub/shower was extremely hard to get into and out of. The tub height for a 5-foot 4 person came up past my knees. I talked to the front desk and they said next time to make sure I ask for a room with a shower only. Now for the major problem. I was in a room on the 12th floor and it was not brought to my attention when I checked in that there is a nightclub on the 18th floor that stays open till 4 AM!!! Literally the windows at one point in my room were shaking from all the loud music. This happened both Thursday and Friday night. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning they apologized and said they would credit me a facilities fee. Looking at my bill for both nights, I was only credited $35.00. I wish I knew about the night club noise before I booked this place.

I had a very nice two-night staycation at The Standard. I booked a Premium Deluxe Room and requested a quiet room, which put me on a lower floor. Despite being lower to the ground, the view from my room was still fantastic, which is what I wanted. Being a New Yorker, I had no interest in seeing more buildings on my vacation, so it was nice to be able to look downtown and onto the river. It's also cool seeing how the High Line goes right through the building. The room was also a perfect setup for me: not large (what NYC hotel room is?), but efficiently laid out, with a usable sitting area with table, and separate shower/tub area from the toilet/sink area. I enjoyed the soaking tub, but I concur with other complaints that for a luxe hotel at a luxe price, you would expect some sort of bath products to make the experience nicer. Thankfully, I read other reviews and knew to bring some bath salts with me. I called Housekeeping to ask for a pair of slippers to use in-room, as well as a kettle. The service was friendly and prompt each time. This was helpful, as when I initially checked in, one of the hotel staff members had a bit of a snobby demeanor. Everyone else I encountered was great, though. I felt the room was understandably a bit drafty, with the ceiling to floor windows, but I adjusted the temperature as needed, and was fine. The location is great: Chelsea Market, Pier 57, Little Island, and shopping nearby. Overall, I had a fantastic stay!

For the amount we paid I personally and honestly don’t feel like It was worth It. The hotel seemed very beat down and lacked comfort and accommodation. When you walk in the lobby it is extremely small not much of a sitting area. The hallways are very gloomy, like a beat down hospital. I didn’t like the concept of the bathroom, no doors or curtain just an open shower and then the toilet is inside a small door, which I first thought was a closet.

This used to be a sexy fun property. That was 10 years ago. This property is so beat up and tired. It is at least 5 years overdue for a full renovation. My shower didn’t have hot water the first few days, the cabinets in my room were beat up, the gym equipment is all busted and beat up, the AC can not handle the sun. The staff wears these horrible non fitting uniforms. The elevator video was always down. The place is just really haggard. Don’t waste your money until they renovate. Hyatt bought this and has done nothing to preserve the Standard experience. The maintenance, housekeeping and doormen were great. They do the best with what they are working with. Obviously zero budget. However The front desk people all seem like they don’t care to be there. Weird overall.

Not a great start as we arrived tired from travelling had a drink and went to bed. Woke up and the shower didn’t work, I reported it to reception but nothing was done, we were meeting our son early so managed the best we could and asked for it to be repaired while we were out for the day, came back at around 3pm still nothing, 3 phone calls later someone came up and managed to fix it after about an hour’s work getting parts etc, really frustrating but it got sorted. Went out next day and returned at 4 ish and our room hadn’t been serviced, this was sorted whilst we were out for the evening. Overall it was a good stay in a lovely area but just a few niggles seeing what the cost of staying is.

This is an awesome hotel for location, views and fun vibes... 5 stars on everything BUT the staff. I had one excellent experience (extending one night) with the front desk (Steven I believe) but other front desk staff were surly and could barely produce a smile... lots of attitdude... as if working here qualifies you act elitist and it's 'cool' to give attitude...ITS A HOTEL... Smile.. Be Nice..Be Polite and Warm..... and don't forget...my room payment pays your salary. Same goes to the front desk for breakfast at the brasserie... she just looked at me as if I shouldn't be eating breakfast at 7.45am. Things to note: Free bikes are 8am to 8pm. There is a nightclub on 18th floor and hotel guests must go out to the street and line up vs having direct access through elevator (weird policy). Rooftop Bar has amazing view esp if you can catch sunset.. but the bartender gal (with gold teeth) also had some major attitude.. and they don't put salt on margaritas "Because we don't carry salt at this bar".... that was a first. Overall... great room, super clean, amazing views and awesome location... but staff need a shake up in how to be ambassadors of friendly and welcoming hospitality.

We loved staying at The Standard! Very fun and unique hotel for our week in NYC. We had a phenomenal view, the room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We checked out the Beer Garden on site which had great drinks and good light bites. We also at at the main restaurant and it was elevated and our server was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great area, and the room was standard for nyc (tiny but clean), but the staff wasn’t helpful and it’s very inconvenient not to have some kind of coffee in the am (either in room or even a cafe downstairs). We had to go to the standard grill every morning and order a coffee at the restaurant. They also have no shop with basics (water/ tylenol/ toothpaste etc). The best thing about the stay was the elevator entertainment and the view from the room.

For $1,100+ a night??? I know it’s NYC but the bathroom was horrible. Shower with no enclosure so unless you put towels out, water floods entire area. Want to take a hot shower??? Poor AC system and ventilation so the alarm goes off. No coffee maker??? How about adding an nespresso machine. You get that at a Hampton Inn. Called room service to order some food, calm goes to voicemail and says they’re closed when they should be open. Staff is meh, so my guess is they probably dont treat employees well. On a positive note, it’s in a cool area But I would not stay here again.

Fun hotel with great bars and restaurants in and around the hotel. Great vibe for a weekend. Room was fine. Service needs improving. Long waits at front desk with zero sense of urgency and in the evening they reduce the number of elevators for hotel guests. The entire time I was there, there was only one elevator working in the evenings and long lines to get on. Twice had to wait about 10 minutes to get on elevator.

We always loved this neighborhood. Check-in was fast and easy. The Liberty Corner King has stunning views east, west & south. We were on the 13th floor and got the Empire State building, freedom tower, Statue of Liberty and Jersey along the Hudson River with an amazing sunset. The hotel is large (I think 18 floors), yet it had a very boutique feel to it. They provide slippers, robes, an umbrella and a steamer. Fully stocked minibar. Customer service was outstanding. Everywhere we walked throughout the property, every employee was friendly and made an effort to say hello. Special thanks to Melissa for making our anniversary memorable. David was great as well. There is a rooftop nightclub which we faintly heard the music from. It didn’t disturb our sleep though on the plush comfortable bed. Seems like the 12th floor might be the best location to be completely undisturbed. The hotel is trendy, sexy with a touch of hipster vibe. Not the most traditional, but perfect for my stay. My wife and I agreed that we will return.

We really enjoyed the house overall, but there were a few cleanliness and maintenance issues that affected our experience: The window frames throughout the house were filled with dead bugs and dirt. Two bedroom windows were missing mosquito screens. Although they were delivered the next day upon request, one screen was too small and didn’t fully cover the window. The blinds in the upstairs bedroom were broken. The bathroom sink was clogged with dirt, and we had to unclog it ourselves. The kitchen countertop was sticky and hadn't been properly cleaned. With better attention to cleanliness and maintenance, our overall impression would have been significantly improved.

Nothing special for the price. The bathrooms are very dated, the hair dryer was junk, there was a weird loud internal noise that woke me up at 2am and went for about 10 minutes. The hotel wasn't able to accommodate an early check in even though rooms were still available on the website, and they also wouldn't let me have a later check out. I got the sense it was just a policy - they weren't even trying to accommodate. Will stay somewhere nicer for the money.

You have been warned!! After 7 hour flight the room not ready until 6:30, smelled like a massive car air fresher. (not sure who died in there the night prior) Night club is booming until 4 AM, there is no sleeping. Hotel is run down, carpet, lighting, bathrooms are poor. No space to put any clothes away. After hours spent changing booking/leaving hotel they locked us out of our room with our luggage inside...because we cancelled our other 4 nights I was overcharged by about $200 for the horrible no sleep night..... This is no 4 Star hotel, this is like a 2 Star on their best day. View was great and staff was nice, everything else was just bad. ...the pointless bath tubs and bathroom design is just ridiculous. If I was loaded with cash, in my 20's and massively intoxicated I'm sure it would have been just fine. Restaurant had nice tables available but sat us in the worst possible. Guest services were great. Room was great and also housekeeping. The lady was very nice. Food at the restaurant also good. The only thing was there was a family at our floor with a kid that every morning was screaming his lungs out. Not a fault of the property, but not sure if this hotel is right for kids. Was my second time staying and will definitely come back.

We stayed at The Standard many years ago as it first opened, along with the city's magnificent High Line. Its location is still one of the best, standing as it does, over that beautiful walkway. In the room itself there architectural features such as a wooden canopy on the ceiling over the bed that have no function, and where the money would have been better spent on other details. Among other things, a rack to hold your wet towel; or a shower shelf to place your own toiletries, or how about a luggage stand so people over 60 don't have to stoop down to the floor to get something out of their suitcase?

It is an interesting building design which I have wanted to visit/stay for quite awhile. But the rooms are not practical for a long-term stay (little storage) and the common areas have very loud music playing all the time. But the location and the staff are great.

Always a great location for walking the Highline, going to dinner, or shopping. The Highline and Little Island are close and provide a break from the streets. A quick walk gets you to the Hudson Yards and the Vessel which is now open. Room service was a little sporadic and the ice machines don’t work. Overall, I always enjoy my stay.

I really loved 90% of the stay. The staff were top notch, excellent but the condition of the room wasn’t great. The shower had terrible water pressure and was either boiling or freezing. People say that but literally there was no in between. I had to take a freezing shower because that was better than boiling. Also the lights in the room flickered so bad I just used a lamp so it was dark. That said, the restaurant and bar were amazing, staff were phenomenal, and bed was really comfortable. I sadly those things hardly matter when you can’t see in your room without. O

The property is well located. Close to the High Line, shops, restaurants. Although I'd stay in the Meatpacking neighborhood again, I will definitely not pick The Standard as my hotel again. The hotel is a bit run down in the rooms with chipping paint, dirt. In addition, the 18th floor turns into Nightclub with booming music till 4am. This music / bass could be heard in my room on the 15th floor! I believe the night club keeps their windows open, so the sound bounces off the glass and into the rooms. I was in a corner room directly 3 floors below. When I talked to the hotel manager about this, he responded with " that never happens" before reluctantly moving our room to a lower floor. The design concept of the hotel is dated, and strange. The hallway to the elevators is dark, then when you step into the elevators, the screens inside play strange and horrifying videos (think abandoned theme park). All the guests who I met hated the elevators as well. Maybe one trip is slightly amusing, but when you go up and down the elevators several times a day during your stay it gets old very fast. Time for an update for The Standard High Line.

A note was left that we missed a special treat since we had the do not disturb sign. I am assuming it was because it was our anniversary trip. I called the front desk to inquire about it and to let them know we’re back. They said they’ll send it right up. Never received it. Small details make the difference, unfortunately our experience was a letdown.

Obnoxious level of noise coming from the night club on the roof. Do not book here if your goal is to sleep at night. Music went on until 4:30 am well past the permissible hours per the hotels liquor license and quiet hours decree. Desk clerks did not care and said call in the morning to complain. Ear plugs are provided by the hotel which are no match for the vibrations and bass.

Water was leaking from my ceiling in room 610 for the entirety of my stay. Beautiful bathroom but you could tell that the tile work was mislaid in a way that cause water to leak into the window sill. Assuming it was the same issue for the room above me. So long story short any time the person above me took a shower the water would start dripping into my room. You could tell this has been happening for a while because there was water damage on the ceiling, a little mold, a fresh white paint around the sides of the damage. Phoned the front desk multiple times about this issue and they said they would send someone to look at it but no one ever came. Such a shame. The room service staff and cleaning staff were extremely nice. Just wish that maintenance and the front desk were on the same page.

It was a very nice hotel. Our room was a little larger than most New York City hotel rooms. We had a waterfront view of the river and really enjoyed it. I will preface these comments by saying that I am 60 years old and the hotel was definitely too cool for me. The lobby is very small not very nice with a weird design. The elevators were super dark but with a cool virtual experience. The decor in the rooms reminded me of the inside of a RV. The bed was pushed against one wall which meant that only one person had access to a bedside table. The bed was however very comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. If you are not planning to stay out until 4am, don't get a room on any floor higher than 12 as you will hear the thumping of the rooftop nightclub.

We spent the weekend celebrating my partners birthday. Our view was amazing and housekeeping was on point, but our lights were so dim and kept flickering! I also was disappointed in the lighting in our bathroom. Maybe we have old people eyes? Also, I know most people are out and about but we spent one night in and tried to cast to our TV to watch a show, and the room technology did not allow for that. Also, we didn’t have a coffee maker. However, it’s right over the High Line and in a great location. I love that part of town!

To start the bathroom door was broken. The shower and tub faucet ran at the same time. I checked out of this hotel on March 23, 2025 and as of April 7, 2025 I still haven’t gotten my deposit back for incidentals. I’ve never waited this long for a deposit back. Spoke to hotel and they stated they released it back to card. My card holder says check with hotel. Normally I get my deposit back within a couple days. I don’t understand how I’m waiting over two weeks. I will not stay at this hotel again. Be Warned.

Great views and a good location in the city. I have stayed here several times before and it feels like the upkeep of the property is slipping. Not anything major, just lots of little things that feel like they should not be issues in a higher end hotel. The one issue I mentioned to the front desk was addressed promptly. Also be aware that on the higher floors (15 and up), the bass from the nightclub on the roof is audible.

Stay was fine. It's location really, closest to where we needed to be, however, it's the second time that the hotel charges my cc used to reserve instead of the cc's showed at property, which creates issues for me in the back end. Everything was great except the TV. Several channels were blacked out, the guide doesn't work, and being limited to only a handful of channels nowadays when at the room trying to relax and enjoy the evening was disappointing. Also the waiter with dark curly hair the very first night we ate downstairs implied that tap water was not an option, and only still or sparkling water was available. The following morning the waiter offered tap water as an option and we realized that we got sold. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant again due to being upset with spending $18 on water the first night that should've been free. The room and hotel were clean, and the hotel staff were great!

This hotel has such a great reputation but I truly couldn’t see why when I went. The toilet room light flickered constantly. The shower was sooooo dark, I couldn’t see anything. The shower took about 20 minutes to get hot and when it did, if you were showering while other people were on your floor, either the water pressure would go or you’d be bathing in ice cold water. The staff were fairly nice. No one went out of their way to help me besides Dave who helped me on the way out but at the same time, no one was rude. For all the money I spent to stay here, there are so many other better hotels for a luxurious stay in NYC.

Cold water in our shower two nights. Lukewarm then breathtaking cold. Between those days, scalding hot. Extremely tall sides to a very random sized tub. Felt dangerous to get in and out when you are short. Not much of a repercussion for terrible water issues.

First, the positives—the staff were absolutely incredible. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful, which made a big difference throughout our stay. That said, there were several maintenance and infrastructure issues. Upon arrival, our TV didn’t work, though it was promptly fixed. The lights in our room were flickering, and the carbon monoxide detector started beeping late at night, requiring staff to come and remove it. The biggest problem, however, was the lack of hot water in the mornings. We later learned other guests experienced the same issue, which was frustrating, especially for a stay of this length (8 days). Additionally, the room was not well-insulated—there were visible gaps around the door, which meant we could hear every bit of hallway noise at all hours. This made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, while the service was excellent, the number of maintenance and comfort issues made the experience less than ideal. The hotel has potential, but these issues need to be addressed for a truly seamless stay.
