    Start to finish the majority of staff lacked a certain level of politeness and couth way that has been there in the past. The only redeeming portions of the stay at the property were the spa (10/10) and the champagne bar. If you’re looking for service 4 seasons or St.Regis all day long

    The first word that comes to mind is "coasting." For the same price point, The Carlyle or Fasano are much better options. The Wifi was so poor that I couldn't go on Zoom calls, the chandelier in my room had flickering lights, finishes were on the old and dated side, and the dining/amenities are eye wateringly expensive -- even for Manhattan. I felt bad for the more obviously new tourists who splurged on this hotel thinking that it was a true five star experience.

    If you have the Plaza on your top choices, choose the Plaza, you won’t regret it. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The room was stunning, elegant, and beautifully maintained. The bedding was unbelievably comfortable, making it hard to get out of bed each morning. I also loved the bathtub, and the fact that the water gets wonderfully hot was a huge plus because that is exactly how I like it after a long day in the city. The spacious closets were another luxury touch that made the stay feel even more elevated. The 24/7 room service was delicious and so convenient, which made relaxing at the hotel even better. The location truly cannot be beaten. Being directly across from Central Park and steps away from some of the best high-end shopping in NYC made the experience even more special. The Plaza is truly a gem of New York City, and I cannot wait to come back!!!

    Location Very unfriendly staff - the staff at the counter were unhelpful and made multiple mistakes while checking in. The room service staff repeatedly forgot to provide key amenities like water and robes, meaning we had to keep calling to ask for these to be delivered, presumably because they were angling for tips. One man even asked us for a tip immediately after we had already tipped 25%. Cleanliness was extraordinarily disappointing with large stains on the bedding and even black mould in our room. The price is utterly outrageous for how poor the quality is, and I say this as someone who has stayed at five stay hotels in countries across the world.

    Unlike many other Lucy hotels where we've stayed, other than the lady who checked us in, who we never saw again, the staff was not warm. More so, the opposite. We were barely ever greeted or even acknowledged when entering the hotel. It was super awkward, specially given the price we were paying (we were staying in a sub penthouse suite. It feels like it's a fancy tourist trap, banking on its name, but certainly did not live up to it. We shall not come back.

    I have wanted to stay at the renowned PLAZA HOTEL since forever and I was able to celebrate my birthday there The property is exquisite the accommodations nothing short of spectacular! They made my birthday incredibly special leaving a beautifully made cake and birthday bear with the signature plaza robe, balloons and a personalized card. So incredibly thoughtful and kind. We stayed 2 nights. The rooms are just gorgeous The palms court restaurant and champagne bar restaurant were divine! Wide range of champagne and cocktails and delicious food. This is one of the most sought after stays and it speaks for itself as to why it keeps its reputation Absolutely a girls dream come true! Nothing it was spectacular

    The location is pretty much unbeatable in NYC. Everyone I interacted with was very helpful and provided good customer service. It’s a landmark of New York City and my wife always wanted to experience staying there. There didn’t seem to be enough staff at the hotel’s entrance so we had to wait a few minutes for someone to take our luggage in and show us to the reception. In general the bedroom was well cleaned everywhere you could see, but for instance there was a shelve with candy/nuts/etc in one of the closets, it was clear those hadn’t been touched for ages just because of the dust (hard to see for someone shorter than 6’). For the price, which is quite high, you’d expect those sharp edges to be fixed.

    location rooms are very old and dated. the windows were extremely drafty, our rooms were freezing. we upgraded to the royal suite and there was no bottled water provided, there are no tea or coffee stations in the suite. they left cheese in our room for the entire stay and there was no turndown service provided. the bath faucet fell off in my hand when I turned it on

    Beautiful building entry way and foyer/reception. The bathrobes. The beds r terrible probably the worst I’ve slept in poor quality sheets bed needs a mattress topper for sure u can feel the design of the mattress which is hard as a rock and loud when moving around in the bed so loud that each time my daughter or I moved in our beds we would wake each other up. The room with 2 queen beds had 1 tiny night stand so had to plug my phone in on other side of the bed and rest on the floor where I also put my drink since I couldn’t reach the tiny night stand on other side. The mini bar only had regular soda. Since we were out and about later we decided to have dessert at the palm court it was horrible apple/berry cobbler was cold the ice cream wouldn’t even melt on it and the sorbet the sever didn’t really know what the flavors were so we got 3 different scoops and turns out 1 we would not have chosen. Turn down service was late and they give u box water and no treat which I find strange for this level hotel. Morning breakfast was good once someone finally took our order but we ordered a chocolate twist with our meals to share when our meals came and no twist for a bit I asked turns out they gave the twist to the table beside us by mistake so the waiter was like oh and grabbed the plate with the twist from the other peoples table and was going to put it on our table until I’m sure he could see the look on my face (the twist had been sitting on the other peoples table for over 5 mins no idea if they had touched it) then he offered to get me a fresh one it was very odd overall just not what I was expecting for $1600 a night my daughter who’s 18 said she was a bit disappointed in the experience as well her comment was we have stayed at much nicer places in Europe and thought this would measure up to that and honestly me too. The rest of breakfast was great tho and the location of course is perfect.

    We did like the bed pillows. Wonderful. I did not like that we paid for central park view. I booked three months ahead. I got a bad view of a back of a street. And still paid 4800 for the two night stay. And we could not get checked in till 4pm. And had to stand and wait. Also don't order toast with eggs. Toast was 17 dollars and you could have played hockey with it.

Size of room was good for NY faced into another part of the hotel but painted gold bed frame was peeling terribly (gross) and pillows were miserable. Clumpy cotton. No turn down service. So many tourists in the lobby you have to dig out your room key every time you enter the hotel. They also add a charge at check in ABOVE the resort fee. $75 per day but you can use $50 as a credit. Strange.

It is nothing to have a few frozen Impossible or Beyond Burgers in the freezer. Outside of breakfast and afternoon tea, there isn't much else. Forget about it if you're dining in the bar area. We travelled with our folks this time, who didn't feel like going out to dinner. We ended up having to order through Uber Eats due to the limited options. I've stayed in luxury hotels all over the world. This hotel has the fewest options of all of them. But I still enjoy staying there. It's a great location.

    I had $50 credit for the food and beverages for each day. After I checked out the room I asked the front desk for the credits already taken care on the final bill that I received. A staff mentioned it was automatically deducted so the total amount showed was correct on the bill. I spent extra time on the review the receipt at the coffee shop but it did not applied the credit that I should received for the orders from the beverages. I had to return to the front desk and talked to the hotel manager. She simply mentioned it was mistake and gave the credit amount to the charges made. I spent more than hour to figure the issues. It was very unpleasant experiences with services and not in a good faith business with the promised charges. I highly recommend to review your charges. I am no longer interesting to stay at The Plaza in the future visiting.

    First off, the staff were pretentious and unfriendly (bar the bellman, Paul, who was a delight). A room service tray was left outside our room for more than a day - hygiene practices definitely come into question! The bottle of body wash broke off the wall in the shower and was not repaired during our stay. Very disappointing. Not worth the money spent, that is for sure.

    The restaurant Café the service is horrible. Had to wait 45 minutes to get water and a cup of hot tea. They roll their eyes if you ask to do any changes to what you’re ordering overall they have a very horrible attitude for $2500 a night they should be very accommodating and be delighted that you’re staying at the property. Complete rip off not worth the money overrated and will not be going back. i’ve stayed there multiple times over the years every time I go I say I’m not going back and then I give in and stay and this time will be my last time. Way of a price and rundown property.

    Overall I did not feel like it was worth the price. Yes, this is an iconic hotel and the rooms were nice and most staff was nice. Food was excellent but was on par with this class of hotel, not above it. The carpeting in the hotel had stains all over it, furniture was chipped in the room, no floor length mirror, only one chair in the room (room had two beds), no coffee maker in the room. The biggest complaint I have is the doormen out front. They would only let guests through the door, which is understandable. However, when I identified myself as a guest that should have been enough, but some of the doormen would ask for a room key to prove my guest status which was over the top and made me feel unwelcome like they didn’t believe that I was a guest. This could have been handled much better. I expected more from a hotel with this reputation.

    Many large group reservations for guests were made at the Champaign Bar which was annoying and hostess was rude and obnoxious. The purpose of the lobby space is to be available to all patrons. Dirty dishes were left outside guest suites for hours on end. And there were TOO many entries into the suites throughout the day - entering to clean the room once is more than enough. The front entrance lobby was constantly cluttered with tourist, which made it frustrating to enter and leave the property. For the amount paid - I am disappointed and will most likely not return.

    From the moment we entered the property, everything was exquisite! Each department was amazing and wonderful, from the front desk to housekeeping. Susan was wonderful in housekeeping and always made sure our room was clean. The restaurant was amazing and everyone was so helpful. It was an amazing, first time experience for us. We celebrated my daughter's 16 birthday celebration and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel extra special. Thank you The Plaza and staff for making her dream come true. I can see this as being a new tradition for our family in many years to come!

    Change is hard.. I have history of coming to the Plaza from 1954 when my mother came with her mother on a family trip. The grandeur she has spoken of through the years. I have been staying at the Plaza since 1998 when I ran the NY marathon with two friends then shortly after took my young son for his birthday. The lobby was exquisite . The shopping was divine and magical. Even if you didn’t purchase anything you felt you were seeing something so unique and full of whimsy. The staff greeted you as if you yourself had been transported to royalty. I have memories of coming with my favorite aunt when she had terminal cancer and died at 41 shortly after our visit. Everyone went out of their way to make our trip with her daughters extra special. When the residences opened it just began feeling ordinary. Now the entrance feels tired and rushed. (The valets and bellman were very nice and chatty). The lobby is now so small people come in to gawk at the flowers and peer through the glass doors to the Palm room which felt less elegant glorious than in years past. The “champagne bar” come quasi lobby has 4 or 5 barstools and several round tables and a few couches with low tables to get a “quick” coffee or an avocado toast in the am. Unfortunately, though many employees were rushing about, it took a very long time to get a coffee and our eggs were cold. The second coffee we ordered was forgotten altogether. To get a coffee near the Plaza one must go to the Sip around the corner.(more)

    The absolute best hotel I have stayed at! They made everything we asked for happen and even surprised us with a child sized robe for our son! The best! Gorgeous, impeccably clean, the most respectful and best service there is! And the hotel smells soooooo good!

    The Plaza in New York is absolutely amazing!! My time there was spectacular, from every service offered, to staff, to the entire establishment. Hand down Top Notch!! Nick, also, in the champagne Ballroom is absolutely amazing!!! Made you feel right at home by knowing your name, your drink, what snacks you want, and just overall personable!! Cant' wait to make it back to The Plaza!!

    Obviously we were bumped as this is no upgrade. I had let the desk know we were checking in later due to the Mets game to avoid something like this. Very disappointed with the way it worked out and the way we were treated

    Disliked: $65/day "experience" fee, general air of shabbiness. Room was spacious and quiet, but staff were not always helpful, restaurant options were disappointing and I did not feel I got value for the money.
