Staff was SO kind I loved them! Very attentive, kind, helpful. Dropped everything to help me. Answered all my questions - location is amazing! Everything around you. I loved the room & fun bathtub to unwind and relax after a long day! Will be seeing them again soon! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Absolutely loved this hotel! We had a top floor room with balcony that looked over the whole skyline. Rooms aren’t fancy but are clean and comfortable. Staff is excellent and they have a deal with a gym down the block which was great. Location is 1000/10 It’s a bit of a loud location but normal NYC street noise - also shower water pressure could be a bit better.

Decent stay and location. Nothing specifically negative, just that my expectations were higher for a boutique property and Nolitan was a "solid" but nothing particularly stood out. The room could have been a bit larger and the balcony (which we paid extra for) was not very functional or inviting.
- 4/5
Great location, decent room size (for NYC). A bit loud even with closed windows. very long check-in... considering you arrive around midnight, are the only person to check-in, and have room already pre-paid it was disappointing.

This place is and A+ in my opinion. Everyone at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet for the most part. The neighborhood is absolutely incredible, walkable, and safe. Would 100% recommend.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed here and would return again. Rooms are small but clean. AC works great. The balcony rooms are my favorite, even though the traffic noise can be a lot. I really appreciated the coffee in the lobby every morning! Housekeeping very reliable. Front desk staff friendly. Great location. I give it 5 stars!

If you're looking for a comfortable, well-located NYC stay without the sky-high price tag, this is an excellent choice. The room was noticeably larger than most New York hotel rooms, with a comfortable mattress, great temperature control, and the rare bonus of a balcony door that opens for fresh air. The balcony itself offers that quintessential New York view and energy—city rooftops, movement, and atmosphere that make you feel immersed in the city from the moment you wake up. What truly sets this hotel apart is the location. You're steps from some of the best shopping in the city, incredible fitness studios, and favorites like Butcher's Daughter for breakfast. Everything you want to experience is right outside your door. Book this hotel for its unbeatable location, clean and comfortable rooms, authentic NYC vibe, and value—it's one of the more affordable ways to stay in the heart of it all without sacrificing comfort. A few things to be aware of before booking: the balcony rooms face a busy street, and on Saturday night the noise was significant enough that I barely slept. From Sunday through Thursday it was noticeably quieter, but I still relied on earplugs each night. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend requesting a room away from the street or packing earplugs. The room itself was very clean, but many of the finishes and furnishings are showing their age. While everything was well maintained, the wear from years of guest use can make parts of the room appear less fresh at first glance. I was also disappointed to find that the rooftop deck and restaurant were closed during my stay. One of the reasons I booked this property was to use the rooftop space, and there was no mention of the closure on the Booking.com listing prior to arrival. A notice on the listing would have helped manage expectations. Overall, the location and value are excellent, but it's worth knowing about the street noise and checking whether all amenities are open before booking.

Small room (typical for NYC) and a bit weirdly arranged. In a fairly noisy part of town, so bring some earplugs. Good location with plenty of good food and drink options within a short walk. My room had a small balcony, which was fun.

The staff was very helpful, nice, and responsive in a genuin fashion not in a "I'm supposed to do this way". The room was a little odd (the toilet is in an odd place and there is a large tub that seems unnecessary) but very clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and in an interesting neighborhood. It is a funky, cool hotel that offers great atmosphere. It is unique and non-corporate, which is getting harder and harder to do these days. The rate was very good as well. I will definitely come back and recommend it to others. The toilet being in a closet and the motion sensor lights in the toilet room and closet.

Good location DRILLING above my head for contraction on the building every single morning and throughout the whole day. To the point my room was shaking. Most un relaxing holiday I’ve ever booked. Emailed about it and no reply from the manager. Wifi also didn’t work so went way over my data every day costing me more money.

I live this hotel and the staff. The room was very roomy, clean, eco friendly, and had a wonderful view of the city. The area is very walkable to nearby eateries, shopping and the airport (LGA). The hotel even has their own car service which was a great help seeing that I was moving my daughter back home from college for the summer. I will definitely return as the hotel staff are like family and are such wonderful people.

Loved the ceiling fan in the room. Nice size room, too. No gym on property, no hotel bar. A lot water leaked from shower door to the tile daily. I arrived in early- feeling extremely ill from plane and uber ride, I asked if a room was ready early. Unfortunately, no room ready (fine) but nobody even offered water or sit and relax although I was visibly trembling. I heard other guests who were leaving offered water. Not a good first experience.
- 3/5
no breakfast available. Some coffee (free) and not so good. I asked for a corner room, and paid more but it was on 2nd floor and felt like no privacy. Ideally a higher floor would have afforded more privacy and quiet. There was some construction going on with door/window so that was a bit awkward. The building makes noises. AC perhaps? woke me up.

We loved this hotel! The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and housekeeping was really attentive everyday. The location can not be beat and I loved having a balcony. Of course rooms in NYC aren't HUGE but it was big enough for 2 of us. Beds were also super comfy. The only complaint is that the wifi did not work well and the TVs are a little outdated. Luckily I had a data plan for the USA so it was fine but if you're relying on wifi this might be a problem.

Location is very good. The hotel is all right for the price of this hotel. I would expect a coffee machine or at a very least a teapot boiler. The location is on a busy street so relatively noise might be a concern to someone, and speaking of noise. it’s easy to hear what the other room and people on top of your floor is doing, but overall, I think it’s OK. Not bad enough for me to complain not good enough for me to go back.

Excellent location. Vibe is really cool, friendly staff. Bed and bathroom very nice comfortable. My 16yo and I shared a king plenty of room in the room for a NYC hotel we were impressed w sz. Complimentary really good coffee in the lobby ea morning. Great gym off the property but very close and really nice. Great food options all close and shopping. We went uptown for our last 2 nights and wish we’d stayed at the Nolitan. The roof top lounge/ bar and restaurant were both not available / open due to reconstruction.

We've had a number of very nice stays at The Nolitan. The hotel has an attentive and friendly staff and a great location. While we've generally liked our rooms, the hotel is due for some TLC (new mattresses, paint, tile repairs in the bathrooms, elevator cabs, hallways, lobby). I suspect that we will return and hope to see some improvements. Wonderful hospitality though!

I usually stay at the Standard Highline but switched it up this time and I have a new favorite! The location is wonderful with so may amazing restaurants and things to do right outside the door. I had a King Corner room and it was great - a huge tub, ice cold AC, super comfortable bed, and very kind and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!

Shower water pours on the floor, horrible toilet paper and the place could use some cleaning up. Nice place in general just needs some love. Great location.

Bar wasn’t stocked. Shower had weak pressure. No coffee pots in the rooms. Bed was advertised as a queen. It definitely was a double. Lamp was broken. And door to the balcony jammed.

The restaurant closed right before my trip which was a bummer but there are restaurants everywhere. Room was clean and tidy. Some parts of the room had visible wear and tear but nothing that ruined the experience. It’s very centrally located which is great when you’ve been walking around all day. I could easily go back to drop things off or just rest for a bit. Staff were all nice, welcoming, and helpful. I would stay here again.

The room was not clean and showed a lot of wear. The mattress felt like a pullout couch - there was something in the center - maybe 2 smaller mattresses pushed together? But it sloped and creaked. I was honestly astounded. The worst mattress I've ever slept on. When I asked to switch rooms, the person I spoke with was unprofessional and rude. Would never stay here again and will tell everyone I know to avoid.

- the furniture (all of it) is old and janky, including the curtains - AC is loud and intermittent - TVs look like something out of 2007 - they’ve installed automatic light sensors in the bathroom. Who wants a massive bright light to ping on when you’re having a pee at 2am?? Nobody, that’s who. - the pillows are as flat as a pancake - the new cardboard room keys are a disaster. They don’t work properly meaning you end up going back down to reception for a new one. - the rooftop has been closed since the new owners took it over - such a shame. (On the flip side, the staff are amazing. Always so welcoming and flexible and helpful and kind. None of the above is a reflection on them whatsoever.)

Location can't be beat if you want to be near Nolita, Soho and the Lower East Side with tons of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. The view we had was amazing. Both the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The rooms are large for Manhattan with a large bathroom. I love having a mini fridge too. Only downside was the bed. Stiff, not comfortable, I tried my sides and my back and woke up with everything hurting. It's my 2nd stay here. Love it, but those beds are rough.

Location was really the only perk of this hotel . The room was like a weathered well used university dorm room. May have been nice at one time but has seen better days. Would not stay again.

From the moment I arrived everybody was very friendly. I especially enjoyed the room as it had a ceiling fan! The room was a little on the small side, so I was happy that I was traveling alone. The bathroom was quite large and I enjoyed the shower! It was nice having a balcony with the view of the lights. I was there for the feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy, which was a block and a half down. Very convenient!

The service was also disappointing and did not reflect the level of hospitality one should expect at this price point. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this hotel—there are far better alternatives in the city for the same cost.

The hotel is very run down, I was super disappointed. I never leave bad reviews but seriously this was not good at all. I hardly slept because of how loud the AC was and the lights randomly turned themselves on and off. The staff are extremely friendly - it’s not their fault that management won’t invest in the property.

Hotel was not as advertised for a so-called four star hotel. I got placed in a small room on the second floor directly on a busy street and had to keep the drapes closed or else be visible from the street. The hotel was also noisy and dark and foreboding. It wasn't worth the price.

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. It’s in a vibrant neighborhood, and is walking distance to NoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, Bowery. Just the best location! And the staff is kind and calm and helpful. They even have two cool bikes to borrow. Amazing stay!

OK points: beds on the soft side, showers fairly weak, lots of room space taken by an unused soaker tub Room for improvement: wifi is too weak, needs an upgrade (probably hardware); no loaner bicycles (as advertised); morning coffee intermittently available

Instead, at 3:15 PM — after check-in time — we get a casual phone call saying, “Sorry, we’re overbooked. We won’t be able to accommodate you.” No real apology. No empathy. Just a flat, scripted line delivered by the front desk like we were a minor inconvenience. When I asked why we weren’t told earlier when we were standing at the front desk, their excuse? “The front desk didn’t know.” Let me be clear: I am pregnant. I had just gotten off a flight, walked through the city, and was depending on a place to rest. Not only did they not offer an apology that felt remotely sincere, they made zero effort to fix the situation. No offer to rebook us elsewhere, no upgrade, no compensation — not even a bottle of water. We were left standing in NYC with our luggage and nowhere to go — and they didn’t care in the slightest. For a hotel that brands itself as boutique luxury, they offer the warmth and care of a bus terminal. Honestly, if you enjoy gambling with your travel plans, go ahead and book here. Otherwise, run.

We had an excellent stay at the hotel in a nice room and with excellent treatment and responsiveness by hotel staff. A couple of things that the hotel could do to improve the experience for guests would be (1) to reinstate the advertised daily happy hour and (2) to repair and make available the bikes that currently sit unusable in the lobby.

- 5/5
It was a great room, great staff and the location was great. Loved the vibe and everything associated to the hotel.
- 3/5
The only downside was the WiFi which barely worked - honestly it was quicker to hot spot off my phone, and the TV reception, which was super spotty with limited channels. Not that this was a deal breaker as TV and work were not the reason for our stay, but when you pay for a hotel, you expect the basics to be provided. The staff were really nice and the rooms were super clean. Oh and you can’t beat the location. I would definitely stay again but I would ask not to stay on the 6th floor.

Perfect location, nice vibe and restaurant. It feels like livinf in the best neighborhood in NYC. Close to subways, bikes, art and shopping. The rooms are a bit run down, but our largest issue was that the internet is non existent. Something about the building seems to interfere with signals, even cel signal is not great. So it was not possible for me to work in the room.

Place was run down, walls were thin, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the pillows were completely flat

For the rate that I was being charged, I was extremely disappointed with the room / property. I walked in and the room have very little amenities, there was a dead bug on the floor I couldn't identify, then the sheets and duvet had some stains that made me feel the whole room was dirty. There was hair on the sheets, I asked them to change my sheets and nothing happened within three hours. I was so exhausted that I left to go stay at a friends house and didn’t even use my room. Super disappointing. Although the man at the front desk was friendly and nice.
- 5/5
Fantastic property, we will be back! Great restaurant, wish it was open Sunday and Monday.
- 4/5
The hotel lobby is very nice, they provide amenities like a robe and slippers which is also nice. The rooms are a bit dated and didn't seem super clean. The glasses that were in the room were smudged and it could have been cleaner. But, the balcony was a nice touch. It is a great location, close to the Williamsburg bridge but still in a hot spot neighborhood in Manhattan. You are close to little italy, soho, west village, east village, tribeca and chinatown. It does get very loud on the streets at night on the weekends so I'd recommend bringing earbuds.
- 5/5
2nd time staying here, hotel itself might be a lil worn, but the staff is efficient, friendly n super chill, same vibe as the entire hotel, opposite to over-tourism, LUV!

Everything is perfect in this hotel except the wifi. I hate to take off a whole star for wifi, but it was crucial to my stay and frankly unusable. I told the front desk about it and they very kindly put an extender in my room, but it didn't help at all. Everything else is awesome though.
- 5/5
I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms are a little older and maybe not sparkling clean, but the beds are very comfortable and the room has plenty of space. We got a corner room which has large windows and is very bright and beautiful. The one downside is that there are very few places to charge devices. The cleaning staff is very friendly and kind. The area around the hotel is phenomenal for shopping and eating. We will absolutely stay here again on future trips.

We loved staying here! Our room was minimal but spacious. The neighborhood is fabulous.

I was all-around pleased with The Nolitan. The balcony rooms are great- lots of people watching and silly street stuff. The location is central to all sorts of Lower East Side stuff- Bowery, Chinatown, Lilitaly, etc. The staff is super kind and helpful.

Wonderful location, and comfortable beds, it’s just that overall it’s in need of an update, it’s all just a little tired and worn around the edges.

Clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Love that there’s a deli/convenience store right across the street too. Perfect little stay.
- 3/5
I booked a stay simply because of the short distance to my son's school.I was greeted by a kind gentleman (Mr Ishaq) once I entered the room everything inside of me wanted to run out, what kept me at the hotel was the unbeatable proximity to NYU. The front desk staff was the absolute highlight beautiful amazing employees... In particular( Ms Sherieka & Mr Ishaq) both lovely, down to earth, extremely welcoming.. indeed the shining light in a dark stay. ..at one point in my stay I was "greeted" by a man with tattoos all over his hands, sweatshirt, baseball cap, I was near frightened he had no uniform nothing that told me that he was an employee, that was very concerning but the next day I came down & I was warmly greeted by Ms Sherieka & her beautiful smile..I breathed a sigh of relief. The lounge area is beautiful, aesthetically pleasing for sure.I entered the hallway of the hotel, I was stunned by how dark & creepy it was, very stressful for a woman traveling alone, not to mention there wasn't an extra lock on the door. The loud sounds of the auto body across the street certainly doesn't promote relaxation. The furniture in the room needs to be updated...even the iron was extremely used the shower floor was unusually slippery.. with all of that said I HAD to share how wonderful desk staff were.I raaarely leave reviews good or bad but I had to state how wonderful the interactions were with (Ms Sherika & Mr Ishaq) It was truly a pleasure meeting them both!

- 3/5
Pretty basic hotel overall.
- 3/5
The hotel was good. Bedroom is small but big closet, ample bathroom, comfy bed. Linens and towels plenty. My only discomfort was the floor showed a lot of stains and was dirty. It's a concrete type of floor so it masks dirt but you can see that it's dirty.
