We stayed in the two bedroom suite and was plenty of space for everyone. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was quiet and beds were comfortable. The staff were so friendly and nice. We will definitely stay again when back in NYC.

this is not a 5 star hotel, its a 3 at best.
- 5/5
The cleaning service in our room was very good. Thank you! We’ll be back.
- 4/5
The only downfall was that we weren't able to get our car when we needed it without paying extra fees. Also, we were struggling to get out luggage upstairs and nobody offered to assist us. I did expect a little more from a 5 star hotel.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in this property. We go to NYC several times a year, and thought to check this place out (touting itself as a 5 star, when really closer to a 3). Not a first class experience in the least, scarce staff, not clean, some amenities not available at all; like the rooftop bar - which they said it was only open seasonally - what other season would be better than June?? (other amenities, were sub-par at best: pool spa). Rooms were not spacious (as described), nor clean. The pictures are not accurate representations of reality. Just know before you go.

What a wonderful stay at the Maramara. The staff were kind and amazing, celebrating my daughter’s birthday with gifts and a decorated room. The Turkish bath and indoor pool are fabulous amenities, even as my daughter would have enjoyed a little more warmth to the pool. The gym with Peleton bike and tread was nice although Peleton bike cages are due to be replaced as they were broken during our stay. It was a wonderful stay!
- 4/5
The staff were all lovely, very helpful. In particular Sue on the desk sorted out the issues we had. Looked like the room wasn't quite ready for us as there was no tea/coffee facilities or a mini fridge for water. Sue sorted these within minutes. Hairdryer was broken too which she got replaced. Swimming pool was quiet and relaxing. The Turkish bath is a steam room with marble slabbing which is good after a day of walking about. Location is great for the subway and plenty attractions within walking distance. Loads of eateries nearby also. If i am honest its not the usual 5 star experience ive had but the hotel and staff are nice.
- 4/5
Beautiful spacious room, great location and view of The Empire State Building from the balcony. Friendly helpful staff. Corridors are very dark to the rooms, and a porter when requested our daughters medication from the fridge actually brought someone else's medication.

Great location! I’m writing to share feedback about my stay, as it fell well below expectations. Service throughout was slow, and several interactions felt unprofessional—particularly with the housekeeping staff, who were repeatedly rude. The elevators also were not functioning properly during my stay, and at least one was out of service. Breakfast service was extremely slow. Even a single cappuccino took 20–30 minutes to arrive, and it seemed the team was understaffed, which impacted the overall experience. The most disappointing moment happened at checkout: a cleaner came to my room and, in a very rude manner, told me to leave because it was checkout time. The approach was unnecessary and made the departure feel unpleasant. I’m sharing this because I expected a higher level of service and hospitality. I would appreciate your review of these issues and a response regarding how you plan to address them.

Service was excellent. Very good team of people, very responsive and polite. We liked the room because it was spacious, had lots of light and a nice little balcony. The room was drafty, it needed new windows. It also needed more outlets. The internet in the room was very weak. The hotel clearly needed a hand of paint and new elevators. The swimming pool is fabulous but many tiles are broken. Generally, the hotel needs some revamping.

Overall a good stay. Hotel is very nice and the staff is attentive. But, the Queen Deluxe Room does not come with a separate sitting area with a table and chairs, despite appearing so on Expedia and the hotel website. When I noticed this at check in the manager told me that this type of layout does not exist for a Queen Deluxe room. That was confusing and frustrating because the pictures clearly show it, and as much as I understand that some inconsistencies may exist I did not expect that from a 5-star restaurant. Breakfast for room service was inconsistent; one morning the coffee came in beautiful silver pots and ceramic cups (as expected in these types of hotels) and the next it came in to-go paper cups.

For the price we paid it should be much better. We had a long 24 minutes just for checking in at the front desk. The property is a bit outdated and needs a restoration. It’s old and needs updating in rooms. Very noisy in room AC units. For the price we paid we should stay at least another night for free. It’s a 3 star hotel with 6 star price.

We stayed for 4 nights and the rooms were spacious for NYC, beds were comfy, our only issue was we called several times confirming the rooms would sleep 3, however they did not. We requested a roll away and they were very accommodating. All was well and the stay was great. For reference we stayed in a Junior Suite (Classic).

I would like to highlight the large, spacious rooms. I was also pleasantly surprised by the wide range of amenities for everyday living. There is a stove, a large refrigerator, and a full set of kitchenware, including pots, pans, forks, knives, a can opener, a whisk, plates, and all the necessary dishes. In addition, there is dishwashing liquid, a dishwasher with detergent pods, rubber gloves, and even a brand-new sponge in its original packaging. Everything needed for daily living was provided, which made the stay especially comfortable. The location is quite convenient, quiet, and not noisy. Both the rooms and the lobby are fairly modern, with good-quality renovations. The bathroom is pleasant as well. Overall, the place left a very positive and enjoyable impression. As for the downsides, it seemed that the room was not thoroughly dusted, as dust was noticeable on the dark furniture. Upon check-in, not all towels were provided, and several basic amenities were missing. For example, we never received toothbrushes during our four-day stay. I am aware that additional items can be requested free of charge, but I chose to purchase my own instead. On the second day, an extra towel was added once it was clear that there were three guests. Aside from these minor issues, I did not notice any significant drawbacks, and overall my impression of the stay remained largely positive!

I loved the staff-Mike was AMAZING! The food was great! It was very beautiful to include our view of the city from our room! The amenities- great (gym with free weights-excellent touch…I ran out of time to utilize the spa but it looked amazing). The location was close to everything. The staff members were sweet to my children which meant a great deal us and added to the experience. Well put together and clean establishments. I am sure we will return HERE whenever we have a chance to revisit the city next. Thank for your role in making this a wonderful experience. NA

Large room with two large double beds (very comfortable), double aspect with view of the Empire State Building and small kitchenette (kettle/coffee machine, fridge but no sink or microwave/cooker). A couple of small issues were dealt with very rapidly. A slightly later checkout was allowed for us which helped. The pool water was a little on the cold side when we were there, but a friendly lifeguard was always on duty. The pool closes for a break between 5.00-5.30pm - good to know when you finally get the kids ready and go down to find the pool!

Didn’t care for seeing the trash every night right next to the property (maybe something about NYC can’t have dumpsters?!), and there was a mysterious large wet stain on the master bedroom floor that wouldn’t dry or go away for the duration of our stay. Housekeeping was good, when they came; had to ask one day on the weekend. Other than that, staff was awesome, room was nice and spacious, and already booked it again for our next trip to NYC!

My room had no heat the entire stay. Stayed over Christmas with record freezing temps. Maintenance tried to fix it twice & brought a portable heater instead which didn’t help and could have posed dangers. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times, left my # and never heard back. I asked for compensations for wasting thousands. Manager didn’t charge me for some nonsense resort like fee. Terrible experience. Terrible management. Will never return or recommend. I don’t want to hear a nonsense apology from management on here either.

We had a 2 BR suite for my 2 married couple kids and I took the chaise in the living room which was super comfortable believe it or not. My only complaint is we booked for 5 people and when we arrived in the room there was no set up for the 5th. I had to call down for extra bedding and they never brought and I had to just catch the housekeeper and they provided. Each day though I would have to call for a fifth set of towels as well. Would recommend if the room is for 5 people that they make sure the fifth person is provided for! Otherwise the suite was so spacious and the rooms very large which is unusual for NY

Room needed an upgrade. Not the same room as you pictured. Drab and obvious wear and tear on cabinets, nightstands and desks. Bathroom too small with poor lighting, and some obvious mold on the shower grout. Ugh. Disappointing overall. Only positive was the parking garage was literally next door. Also, they have a doorman, but many times he was on his phone while i opened the door myself. Ridiculous. I would not stay here again!!!!!

Larger than average room for NYC. Close to parking and walkable to Times Square. Very clean. Pool was less than attractive though. Small and no natural light. Essentially meant for workout only if that is what you are looking for.

The hotel is very uncluttered and pretty. It is however starting to show some wear, particularly in the elevators and the furnishings in the rooms. That's the downside. The upside is that the staff was great and very helpful. We got upgraded to a jr. suite which was surprisingly handy. It had a small balcony and a mini kitchenette which came in very handy. The bed was so comfortable that I unmade it so that I could see who the mfg. was so that I could buy one. Towels could use replacement but bed linens were very nice. All in all a good stay and we would tay again.

The hotel staff was polite and friendly. The rooms were quiet and clean. I loved the interior design throughout the building. My family and I walked everywhere and jumped on nearby subways to see the city. For an affordable and hot meal, we walked 2-3 blocks away to Greenleaf Deli and brought the food back to the lobby to eat together. The rooftop bar of the hotel had beautiful views for pictures. If I come back to Manhattan, I’ll stay here again. I loved it, my 12 year old son loved it and my senior-aged parents loved it.

I arrived at the hotel to find out that the room I booked had an issue and they were oversold. Rolande, who was working the desk asked if someone called to inform me. That was a silly question because had someone called me, I wouldn’t have been there. I subsequently waited an hour and they were not able to accommodate me. I told her I expect to be reimbursed for the hotel and compensated for my rides to and from the hotel in addition to at least a $100 credit for the inconvenience.

The room was spectacular. The food was mediocre, not recommended to eat there, eat somewhere else. And pass on the spa treatments. My husband received a massage and his professional (a man) had long nails and scratched him - very bad experience.

Waste of money. Room was old and kind of falling apart. AC did not work. The sink was backed up and wouldn’t drain for several minutes. Poorly designed - not a single socket near bed. If you can get a good deal, it’s a nice location and decent hotel but far from luxurious.

The room was perfect, clean, comfortable, spacious. Service was excellent. Pool was very nice. The downside was the restaurant. Both meals (mine and my daughters') were subpar. I sent my raw shrimp cocktail back and was told the chef said was "normal" (It was raw and inedible, unlike the countless shrimp cocktails I have eaten throughout my life) and was not offered a refund. The child's meal was supposed to come with chips and a drink but we received only a plate of pasta and nothing else (for $18). Unfortunate overpriced, subpar food, disappointing service.

We had amazing experience at Marmara Park Avenue. The Staff at front desk was excellent and really helpful. Pool is beautiful, the room was clean. Definitely will come back once in a while for staycation.

Our favorite NYC hotel for visits with our family or as a couple. Consistently clean and comfortable. Safe, friendly, and conveniently located.

decided never to try safe. again. The beds were super comfortable. Nice location, the lobby bar made a terrific drink - and served delicious coffee in the morning. However, this will not be my go to hotel.

Pros: Sauna was incredible!

The room was large by NYC standards and very comfortable. The indoor salt pool was a bonus and the Turkish bath a real treat.

The parking right next door. Amazing place with upscale spa love it

The customer service was terrible from start to end. The lady was rude when I called and wasn’t very helpful. Then to make it even worse, the guests by our room were loud and sounded like they were fighting knocking furniture around in the room.

This was my first stay at this hotel but it won’t be my last. I wanted to bring the kids to the city - for their first experience - and I couldn’t have picked a better spot to stay. We were close to everything - walking or taking the subway which was right next door. The hotel staff were kind and helpful. The pool was amazing and I loved that it was salt water versus chlorinated. Our room had a kitchenette which was perfect for a long weekend so we didn’t have to eat every meal out. It was also very quiet - which was wonderful after long days of walking. I would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway as a couple or as a family!

Front desk good. Room/property nice. Didn't get housekeeping for 2 days. When they finally came they didn't stock soap, shampoo, etc. Worst of ll was sitting in lobby bar and 4 of 5 times never asked if wanted drinks/food as multiple staff talking non-stop behind bar. Won't be returning.

An indoor pool in nyc??! Incredible and better than the pictures. Just far enough away from the mayhem of the city, so convenient w the subway stop right there. I have 2 little little kids— the in room fridge was larger than most, the dishes and silverware and little kitchen counter were so useful. And they give away teddy bears which is so sweet and they felt so special.

The standing charger for the iPad they provide you with didn’t work in our room at all. Also Netflix & screen sharing both didn’t work on the TV. Also there were no drawers in the nightstands which I thought was odd - like they were taken out for some reason. The kitchen however was a great feature in this room with several nice appliances.

Hotel is amazing. Clean, comfortable and friendly staff that goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Love the Turkish spa and pool. Will definitely be back!

Great location in midtown with easy access to local shops & restaurants. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Jogging along East River is only 3-4 blocks away. The spa, pool, and Turkish bath are great although services are pricy.

I came down with Covid and stayed home so I didn't spread it to others. Marmara wouldn't refund my stay. So while I would love to stay in their hotel. Next year I will find another hotel to stay in.
