Reviews
The Lombardy Hotel is generally well-liked for its spacious rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location in Midtown Manhattan. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the hotel's outdated facilities, lack of amenities, and issues with cleanliness.
- Spacious rooms
- Friendly staff
- Outdated facilities
- Lack of amenities
- 2/5
Hotel was clean and service was good. but unfortunately these problems overshadowed some of the positive.
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the Lombardy Hotel. Really cordial doorman, bellman and lobby staff; nice bathroom amenities, comfy beds with lovely linens and highly secure rooms. Coffee maker took Lavazza pods, which were very nice, though ours only dispensed tiny espresso-sized coffees. This is an interesting property as it is mixed use; part apartment building, part hotel. Our party had 2 rooms, so we were able to see the drastically different styles of the rooms, which were both nice, but had very different wallpapers, furnishings, style of decor. etc. - felt a little bespoke, actually. The only issue during our stay was that our room cards seemed to get demagnetized very easily, but the desk staff replaced them promptly each time. A small matter.
- 5/5
The room was HUGE, the bed was so comfortable, and the staff was great! Always at the desk ready with a smile and free bottle of water. This hotel has so much history which gives it charm, but is also beautifully decorated and appointed, which makes it the best hotel. I cannot wait to return.

Great place to stay in midtown
- 5/5
If you need to stay on the Upper East Side, especially for activities east of Lex, consider the Lombardy: great location, great hotel, great room and staff, and a fair price. I found it more accommodating than the Fitzpatrick.

Not a great stay
- 5/5
Staff and room size were fantastic. Shower did drain very slowly.
- 2/5
The rooms are nice size and the location is great, but this place has seen it's best days some years back. The majority of the staff was very nice but when we had an issue with the shower and called and were told they would be right up, we came back 8 hours later and no one attended to the matter. The carpet in our room was destroyed by an animal for sure and they cut a piece of the same carpet and just threw it on top. Not very professional. Spend a few bucks and invest back in your business!!
- 3/5
Worst room I ever had in the hotel and I’ve been staying there for years, but it was the cheapest. I just didn’t expect to be that bad and the bed was terrible.
- 5/5
Great Location, Amazing Staff and very Clean!
- 4/5
It was in a great location and the size of the room was excellent! The only negatives are that there isn't an onsite coffee or breakfast option, or an onsite bar area.
- 3/5
When I stayed at the Lombardy, June '26, the outside of the hotel was covered in scaffolding, so I didn't see any of the beautiful outside that is listed on Expedia. I saw basically a construction site. Inside, my room was dated and my wife was quite disappointed, all for roughly 5 bills a night. They might have renovated rooms, but my room was clean but plain. I didn't have a view except for the inside of the scaffolding (pic attached). So, bottom line, the hotel is very clean and the bed was excellent. The room was dated, the outside was under construction, the view was non-existent, the price was expensive. I won't stay there again, but maybe when they are completely done renovating it will be worth it. The lobby is small but accurately represented online. Everything else I feel is a bit of a glamour shot to the point where I feel I was tricked.

Clean and spacious room
- 4/5
This hotel has an excellent team from Front office to Technic staff to Housekeeping, all of them are extremely polite, efficient and helpful.
- 5/5
Great Staff.
- 5/5
great stay. huge suite. stayed here many times.
- 5/5
It was like living in an apartment. That was beautifully clean and kept. We will definitely return.
- 5/5
Great staff, helpful, professional. Clean rooms. Central location. Big rooms for New York.
- 5/5
Great stay! Staff were courteous and room was enormous. Bath had great water pressure
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful!
- 5/5
The bed was one most comfortable ever
- 5/5
It was a perfect place for a girls weekend! Very comfortable and quiet. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Room was immaculate and huge
- 5/5
Rooms were great, staff were polite, the location was great for easy access to everything. Safe neighborhood, room service was very good.
- 5/5
This was a lovely hotel! We would stay again.
- 4/5
Great hotel and reasonable price. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Extremely responsive and quick to room service or requests for a room cleaning. Only gave it a "good" or 4/5 because we both got a little congested from the air quality inside the hotel room. It was clean in the room but there may have been dust or something in the air. Also the last two hours of our stay on a weekday there was construction occurring right outside our window on the property. Normally I don't mind but it was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves have a conversation. The staff apologized but basically said there is nothing they could do.
- 5/5
Great room, best location.
- 5/5
Stately Hotel. Lots of construction in the front of the building. Room was spacious and well furnished. Bathroom was small and had no vent fan so was very steamy after our family of 4 all finished showering. A few other minor maintenance issues which are expected in 100-year-old hotel. Great location — lots of things within walking distance. Will definitely consider it again during our next visit to NYC.
- 4/5
I have stayed at The Lombardy a number of times and my experiences are always good. Great location, immaculate public spaces and rooms. My only criticism would be the lack of warmth on the part of the staff. On a recent stay I exited and entered the hotel dozens of times, and on only 2 occasions did a doorman even acknowledge me (through a nod). Not once did the doormen offer to open the door, help with packages/luggage, etc. That said, the reception staff is warm and professional.
- 5/5
Wonderfully spacious room and bed. Good shower too. Difficult to manage air conditioner with noisy fan tending to cold. WiFi in the room almost non existent during my stay
- 5/5
Would’ve liked valet parking
- 3/5
We chose the hotel for its location. We found it cold and uninviting. The facilities were clean and comfortable but little things were missing. One minor example, the coffee machine didn't work well and we were left with just two pods of coffee each morning. I guess we were not expected to have more than a cup. On the second morning I asked at the desk for recommendations for a good morning coffee/bakery.I was directed to a small, tacky bodega around the corner, (stale muffins, poor coffee). I found staff less than helpful. Also, I was lead to believe there was valet parking at the hotel, however I was directed to a self parking garage two cross city blocks away. All in all disappointing experience. Never Lombardy again.
- 5/5
It was an amazing team, big rooms and great service . Big surprise. Will come back again.
- 5/5
Located in a great part of NYC and close to a lot of major attractions and sites
- 5/5
Spacious rooms with excellent closet space. Very accommodating staff.
- 5/5
Location, location, location. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Such s great stay!!
- 5/5
Our stay was lovely. The room was very spacious and staff super accommodating. It felt like an historical old Hollywood hotel. Come to find out it was built around 1925 and was frequented by various celebrities from that era. If you are looking for slick and modern this is not for you. A quiet respectful atmosphere and a great bathtub were what I appreciated. Also great location!
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our suite at the Lombardy— the staff was outstanding, allowing us to check in early, finding tea bags for my British friend at 10p. I did notice that there were details that were shabby: the room’s rug was worn, the chair needed reupholstering, the desk had huge cracks in it where it had suffered abuse, the porcelain in the bathroom was cracked— but all of these observations were minor, cosmetic in nature, and easily fixed. The room was a marvelous space, the handheld shower (outstanding!!) powerful and quickly hot, the beds and furniture comfortable and all of it immaculately clean. This place has old NYC pre-war charm. I’ll gladly stay here again!
- 4/5
Did not find an AC control in the room and it was a little warm. The kitchen is well equipped and a great bonus I'd imagine for those travelling with a family
- 5/5
Rooms are very large by New York hotel standards. Staff is friendly and helpful. Elevator service is extremely efficient with practically no waiting required o\nce the call button is pushed. Hotel is very quiet.
- 5/5
Exceptional!
- 5/5

Room was clean, bed uncomfortable. Staff were not very friendly.

Being a condominium-type hotel some features that we were used to were missing: cocktail lounge, coffee shop, etc. If we were owners we would have provided for our selfes.
- 5/5
Very clean. Room was huge and clean, comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and professional. I woukd stay again.
- 5/5
Great location - so close to 5th avenue and Central Park The staff were really helpful The size of our room was really amazing - loads of space to hang clothes, separate kitchen and dressing room.
- 5/5
Las habitaciones son extra grandes. La ubicación es inmejorable. La cocina estaba poco equipada pero al solicitar olla y sartén enseguida vinieron a entregarlas. Todos los días reponen café. Volvería sin duda alguna!
- 5/5
Spent the weekend in the City, worked Monday. Awesome location, up to date spacious room and great staff !!
- 5/5
Perfect location with the most polite staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel with spacious room, great staff, excellent bed, great room coffee, great kitchenette. clean rooms and public area. Just a few blocks from Central Park south.
- 5/5
Very clean, nice staff, lots of storage and comfortable bed. Temperature in room was a little hard to regulate and AC was somewhat noisy. Overall, our room was very quiet, kitchen was good for making coffee and tea and cereal. We didn't really cook. Microwave, refrigerator and electric tea pot.
- 5/5
Great location and excellent value. Staff super nice. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location with spacious layout.
- 5/5
This was a very comfortable stay for us and our two kids. Very spacious for a New York City hotel room and in a convenient location. I would recommend this hotel to families looking for a comfortable stay in the city.
- 5/5
Staff are very friendly n helpful.

Everything worked as it should! Staff was great, very attentive and friendly.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Clean room and nice staffs
- 5/5
Excellent service location and treatment by the staff.
- 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised by how large the room was. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised that the room had a kitchenette and walk-in closet. Overall, the room was very good. The staff was very pleasant on every interaction. I would recommend this property to my friends.
- 2/5
Location cleanness Tvs are old kitchen is poorly equiped Didnt like Linens no duvets or nice pillows
- 4/5
Only negative was out of your control -street construction.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
The Lombardy was super clean, room was spacious and even had a small kitchen which I didn’t expect but certainly nice to have. The furniture was dated but when you’re in NY you’re not in your room much but beds were comfy for sleeping. Location was great to all the spots we wanted to visit. Would recommend to anyone and would stay there again.
- 4/5
Except for the view outside with a lot of construction everything in the room was exceptional.
- 5/5
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Room was great. Workout room was not so great but it was fine. Would surely stay there again.
- 4.5/5
although the value of the room was very good, when we were upgraded (not at our request) price was iincreases as well (although not disclosed until check out)
- 5/5
Great, reasonable, homey hotel. Every room is different. Could use magnifying mirror in the bathroom but otherwise, very comfortable with friendly, helpful staff team.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful in recommendations for area restaurants. Our room was spacious and spotless. We loved the midtown location, which was convenient to shopping, restaurants and the MTA. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Large spacious room Great location We come every time in this hotel and we will never change
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Location is excellent. Great value.

- 5/5
Rooms are so spacious! Really comfortable for 3 of us. Love that a small kitchen is included (stove, fridge, coffeepot, microwave). Location is excellent. Near subway, restaurants, and Times Square. We chose to walk most places and felt safe day or night.
- 3/5
Old building-plumbing-equiment. Wifi was working for a few hours during our 3.5 days stay. Shower water was somewhere between lukewarm to hot depending on a day.
- 5/5
the location is incredibly convenient to everything one wants to see in New York. I would have preferred that the sofa be cleaned and would have liked an extra blanket for the bed but those are very minor things. It was perfect. I will go back. I loved it.
- 4.5/5
Very spacious rooms, cleans and customer service was excellent Only inconvenience was the small bathroom (given we had a large suite for our family of 4)
- 4/5
Lovely clean huge room. Housekeeping very attentive.
- 5/5
Total value for the location. Kitchenette was practical
- 4/5
However, don't expect any amenities at the hotel, such as a up to date fitness center or streaming network on TVs. I haven't seen a microwave option in the room since the early 2010's, it's kind of nostalgic.
- 4/5
The ac did not work well enough for size of room. Room was extremely spacious for New York. Clean, neat and well stocked.
- 3/5
The closet was unacceptable. Too small to even hang the simplest of things. Place needs an overhaul.
- 1/5
The room was spacious for NYC, but very dated. Most light switches were not functioning. The first night I was woken up by the noise of radiators. At least I think that's what that was. It was loud banging from that general vicinity. The third and last night of my stay, Sunday, I got back to my room around 8pm. I immediately noticed loud music. It was in the room directly above mine. Think night club DJ and pounding from dancing. I placed two calls to front desk, first at 9:30pm and second at 11:00pm. Both times, the employee told me they will "see what they can do". The music finally stopped after midnight, but the heavy sound of footsteps did not. The Expedia listing is nothing like what the room looked like. I understand that it says each room is different, but the room I stayed in is not in any of the pictures, likely because it is in poor condition and it would show how dated and in need of repair this room was. I had high hopes for this place, because the location is fantastic. Sadly, I will NEVER stay at this place again.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
We had the perfect suite with a terrace the first time. 2 subsequent stays the rooms were not as nice. Dated but clean. One had too many mirrors. But that’s what makes staying there fun. You never know what you’re going to get. Then we just stayed again. And it was outstanding! Perfect room to be comfortable in. Thank you, Abeer! The staff is always amazingly! Jimmy so helpful everytime—sad that we didn’t get to see Gordon. I hope he gets to feeling better soon. Same time next year if Kam get’s another part in the play. Stay safe —my friends.
- 4/5
The room was fairly spartan and unattractive otherwise, with old lamps and furnishings, and it was a guess as to which outlets would work.

- 5/5
I loved everything about this property!! We felt like we had a studio apartment and the food at the nearby Naked Pig was amazing
- 5/5
The staff was the best!!
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean, beautiful, and surprisingly quiet for being in East Midtown. The walls had some extra insulation and fabric to help mute the sounds outside. The staff was very helpful and even let us borrow some umbrellas for a rainy day. Special shout out to Simeon for being so welcoming during our stay!
- 5/5
Great team, excellent customer service. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and is in a great location, just off Park Avenue. We gave one 4-star rating because the bathroom needed a touch-up, and the hair dryer was missing from the room. We will gladly come back!
- 5/5
Amazing experience
- 4/5
Room was very nice. Great bed and shower. No food available anywhere on premises. Absolutely no amenities in hotel.
- 4/5
Decent place to stay at a decent price. Location and space (plus full kitchen if that's important) probably the best things
- 2/5
Very old and tired. Smells moldy. Location is good.
- 3/5
The location was perfect and staff was great however bed were a tad uncomfortable and there was a noise issue and we did have to move rooms the second night we stayed

Very clean, extremely spacious studio king room. Would definitely stay again. Very good staff and kind maid staff. Close to most things in midtown.
- 3/5
Rooms are privately owned and rented by owner. Our unit was clean but in much need of love. It was vey basic. Think 2 star at best! Very worn with paint chipping etc. Great location but tired space!! Very nice staff but units rooms need attention!

- 4/5
The Lombardy is a residential hotel. Therefore all the rooms are different. Some are really nice and others are super dated. Be sure to ask for a modern room! The staff is really lovely. The location can not be beat if you are looking for midtown east convenience. I would absolutely go back!
- 5/5
Great location. Incredible staff. VERY spacious room
- 3/5
Good location; good price; furniture not so good
- 5/5
Clean room. Courteous staff. Upscale facility. Some restaurants. Mny take out and food places. Subway stations. Good walking siatance to midtown and museums.
- 5/5
Always wonderful every time
- 5/5
Just in off famed Park Avenue, and a few blocks away from 5th Madison and 5th Avenue (shopping galore), as well as Central Park (easy to walk up to the Central Park Zoo, and if you want to get your steps in, up to the Met), this boutique hotel is a find. Especially as the rooms (we had two queen beds) were much larger than most in NYC at the same price range. While there's no food in the hotel, restaurants and coffee shops abound as soon as you walk out the door. And many rooms have small kitchenettes. The staff is lovely and helpful, the beds are very comfortable, and we would certainly stay again.
- 5/5
Location
- 4/5
Room was large for NY city, staff was helpful, and price was competitive.
- 5/5
Nice, centrally located hotel that was clean, comfortable and for NY very affordable.
- 5/5
Spacious suite. Helpful, attentive staff. In the heart of Manhattan.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable beds and very helpful front desk. Recommended several great eateries within walking distance. Had to check out early… bomb cyclone coming!
- 3/5
It was okay. it’s an old building so the ventilation sucked and things in the room didn’t work
- 5/5
huge suite.
- 4/5
The staff was great. My only issues were there was no hot water in the shower. Someone came right away but it took some time to get the water hot. Also... there is a fireplace on the wall that does not work.
- 5/5
The room was super clean and the staff were very nice
- 3/5
The place is nice, clean, maid service was always available was excellent. The front desk clerks need trainings on service for being 4 stars k expected a nicer check in - of services, many what’s bringing you to visit us? Our amenities are? When I would contact the men at fe was dry - not friendly and not helpful when trying to get help. No solutions just clod “no” we don’t do that or “no we don’t have that” the girls were great at check out - very friendly
- 5/5
The Lombardy is a gem of a hotel! Convenient to Central Park and museums. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a mini fridge and microwave to reheat leftovers from the yummy restaurants that were within walking distance. We would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was clean and quiet. The staff was helpful and friendly.
- 1/5
Very nice staff at the front desk when checking in. But overall the room was very outdated and dusty had very bad cigarette odor, not blanket/comforter for bed .
- 4/5
The room was great, the staff was corteous. Good location, close to everything. The only thing that I hated was 20 minutes wait for the water in the shower to become warm enough (the room was on 15-th floor). Also for the first couple of minutes the hot water was dark brownish, then normal.
- 5/5
Big rooms, great location, very clean, the best
- 4.5/5
great staff, great team. Enjoyed it despite the freezing cold outside
- 5/5
Clean room, spacious, great location and lovely staff.
- 1.5/5
Building and rooms are outdated for the price. Everything looks used from the lobby to the rooms. In my room, even the carpet had holes in it.
- 5/5
I will never stay any place in NYC again other Lombardy.
- 5/5
Yes but we did find a bug dead in the kitchen area.
- 5/5
This was an amazing hotel. It was nice to go back to a quiet hotel after being out in the crowds all day. The staff were super friendly and so helpful. It was a small hotel feel.in the middle of the coty. Rooms were spacious. We will definitely return
- 5/5
Room was spotless. Staff was very kind and helpful. Will stay here again!!
- 5/5
Room was nice and clean. The staff was welcoming at all time. Room service lady was really nice and helpful.
- 4.5/5
Large and comfortable room with a nice kitchenette area including espresso maker and pods, mini fridge, microwave and sink (with window). Great east side location. Lobby was functional but no amenities.
- 4/5
Engineer was helpful. Carpet was stained
- 4/5
All staff were perfection, very responsive and attentive; room was very clean and my housekeeper was a keeer, she worked hard and is a lovely lady. My only concern was that the only coffee in room was an expression no coffee and they did not have a coffee service in the main lobby for residence either. So no regular coffee on site they also was not access to water, drinking water, in the lobby. But other than those two points, everything else was terrific. I will definitely come back (with my own coffee and my own water).
- 5/5
Service was excellent!! Room was clean and staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
The Lombardy Hotel was a perfect place to stay for several days. The room was like a classic New York luxury studio apartment, with everything we needed; the staff was amazing: so helpful and sweet. Loved it!!

Super comfy beds, 12th floor was quiet and lovely Third floor room had an hvac out the window that was loud
- 2/5
customer service is severly lacking
- 5/5
Large clean room. I'd definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
It was a great stay, very clean and very attentive staff.
- 5/5
This was my second stay at the Lombardy Hotel. Both stays were excellent with the most outstanding feature being the top flight professionalism of all of the staff. The beds are very comfortable and the location is very convenient.
- 5/5
Wonderful. We loved it.
- 4/5
Great location, walking distance to everything we wanted to see & do. The room was a little run down, could use some upgrades but the bed was comfortable
- 4/5
HVAC system inside the room a little noisy and the room we stayed has a very small bathroom. Other than that and the construction in front of the hotel it is a great place to stay.
- 5/5
All
- 5/5
Everything was perfect! From the location, to th property, to the staff.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room. Helpful staff, Wonderful location. Our family would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 2/5
The room displayed showed a partitioned living area. The room wasn't partitioned; it just had a larger bedroom area. Since I was traveling with a toddler, this set-up was what I was paying for so I didn't have to sit in the bathroom while he was going to sleep. This seems like false advertising.
- 4/5
The size of the room was nice and large, especially for New York. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. However, we had to ask 3 times for ice and it took an hour to come up to the room. Also, my whirlpool tub never worked and they never came to try and fix it. Otherwise, a beautiful stay.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I enjoyed my stay!
- 4/5
Good room, most of amenities tired.
- 2/5
The kitchen was not equipped at all. The second bed was only a double bed, although the listing indicates two king beds or one king and one queen. The apartment was not clean: there were crumbs on the countertops and in the fridge, food on the kitchen floor, hair on the carpets and sheets, and stains on the pillowcases and sheets. There were also temperature issues: the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom were cold, while the guest room was hot.
- 4/5
Bedroom came with only a very thin blanket. Coffee maker was not restocked daily. Ditto bottled water. There was no place to eat in this hotel and food options nearby were surprisingly limited. Staff was friendly and the rooms looked nice. Great location for walkable trips to Broadway, Central Park, high end shopping and Rockefeller Center.
- 5/5
yes staff is nice it was clean the front desk esp. Danial was so helpful.
- 5/5
Loved it! Did think the room could use new carpet. Overall, enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Helpful staff, unique rooms, great location.
- 5/5
Manhattan suites are huge room! Staff was great, location in midtown perfect
- 5/5

- 5/5
Amazing crew. Doorman so nice and curtious. Beautiful hotel.
- 5/5
Loved all the staff
- 5/5
Spacious rooms ....love the kitchenette
- 5/5
Clean room, great bellman service and excellent location to our holiday activities
- 4/5
People doormen were very nice and very helpful.
- 4/5
This hotel was a great choice for our trip to NYC. Our king suite comfortably slept four (two in bedroom, 2 on the pull out couch). I appreciated the full kitchen to cook a small breakfast to help get our day started. The bathroom was freshly updated and well stocked. For the location in a safe, midtown location, this hotel’s price can’t be beat. I plan to stay again when traveling.
- 5/5
Great stay for a family, clean and spacious rooms.
- 5/5
Very nice accommodations. Pleasant and helpful doormen and housekeeping staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Kind staff, clean, good location
- 5/5
Spacious Rooms
- 4/5
The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was good size and fairly well appointed but the lighting was way too dark for my wife to apply her makeup and the bed desperately needs to be replaced. Extremely lumpy and slopes to the middle. No restful sleep at all. Will definitely stay again but in a room with a better bed.
- 3/5
Staff was great, hotel was clean but no balcony view. I was on the 2nd floor with a Barb wire fence as a view.
- 5/5
We felt like we were staying in a large 1 bedroom apartment. It was roomy and well appointed. We were on a high floor, so the light was great as well. Great value given the location.
- 5/5
Spacious and affordable
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 3/5
Disappointed that there was no bar, restaurant, coffee shop. The restaurant adjacent to hotel (via inside door) was no welcoming to guests. Room was large, clean but old. Staff was pleasant and it’s a good location
- 5/5
Bedroom was cooler than the rest of the suite. We needed extra blankets.
- 3.5/5
Fantastic location Its a little dated
- 4.5/5
Lovely, large rooms with kitchen. WiFi could be better.
- 3/5
Coffee maker didn’t work, bathroom sink drains very slowly and room as warm even when the heat was turned off
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Great location, friendly and informative hotel staff, clean and spacious rooms. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Lombardy!
- 5/5
Great location the room was very clean and large with small kitchen. Comfortable beds. Our family of 3 had a great stay at The Lombardy Hotel.
- 5/5
The rooms are like apartments. Very spacious, neat living room, separate bedroom.
- 4/5
I loved the location. It was easy to get to, centrally located, and had good train service. NA
- 5/5
I will never stay anywhere else. From the moment we arrives until we left, everything was incredible. The doormen, the desk staff, the bellman, the housing cleaning, the room size and location. Never have i stayed somewhere with staff as nice and accommodating as those at The Lombardy. The room was so spacious with a kitchenette. The loaction was great in Midtown. I came with my elderly mom and my sister. My mom was so impressed. You can not find anything else of this soze for your money. 5 stars out of five!!!!! Thank you to everyone at The Lombardy.
- 2/5
There is hair in the bathtub, the room is huge but not comfortable, limited amenities for a $795 room. It’s old and tired. Not the classy hotel it thinks it is.
- 4/5
Large size room
- 5/5
Roomy, great location
- 5/5
Great view. Love the room. Front desk people very friendly and professional. Will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The room is very spacious for NYC hotels. We got a great deal through hotels.com that I only saw one day on the app after that doubled in price. Convenient location and not loud at night. Beds slept great and good hot water/pressure. Overall very pleased.
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean room. Friendly, helpful staff.
- 3/5
This is a tired hotel at luxury prices. The staff was inattentive, the room tired and plain. That said, the location in midtown is excellent, the hot water plentiful and high pressure, and there is a very nice lobby.
- 4/5
Room was very nice and spacious. Especially for NY standards. Clean and a small kitchenette. Only reason not 5 is because I was on the 2nd floor and whatever was below me (bar etc) was extremely loud and bothersome while trying to sleep.
- 5/5
Great location and facility!! Amazing staff. Very clean.
- 4.5/5
Room was spacious, staff was friendly
- 5/5
Great room and wonderful service from the front desk.
- 5/5
Outstanding
- 5/5
Amazing stay and perfect location. My aging parent enjoyed the spaciousness in rooms and bottled water.
- 5/5
Room was so nice and very spacious!! Our room had a living area with sofa, chairs and large glasss coffee table. Standard size bathroom and large bed area with a 4 chair dining table. There was a long entry hall way with very large walk-in closet with drawers and a small kitchen area (sink, standing fridge and microwave stocked with dishes). Staff was super nice! Shout out to Jimmy the bellman who was super kind!! Location was awesome too! Will definitely say again!!
- 5/5
Our stay was great. The room was comfortable and cozy. The staff was polite and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
very large "King Studio" bedroom, and a very courteous staff.
- 5/5
Great people and clean rooms!
- 5/5
Amazing space for our family at a great price. We had a two bedroom suite and it was perfect and super comfortable. The location couldn’t be better to walk to MOMA, Centeal Park and shopping. Subways close as well. Highly recommend and would stay again for sure!
- 5/5
Most spacious 1 bedroom suite I’ve stayed in in manhattan
- 5/5
The room was haunted 😱
- 5/5
during our stay. He was very friendly, caring, and professional. He assisted us during check out on the early morning (about 5 am) on December 6th. We give him 5 stars!
- 5/5
Clean room, spacious living area
- 5/5
Location, staff, windows open, and room size.
- 5/5
Excellent location and spacious king suite. Close to everything, but still quiet. Staff was fantastic. Even the sofa bed was very comfortable. Housekeeper, Maria went above and beyond.
- 5/5
Location!!!!! This place was a last minute find and we can’t wait to go back! The location was perfect, the room was beautiful, the staff was amazing and so nice and our room keeper was amazing! She did the best job and was so friendly!
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Perfect location, spacious room, comfy bed, great service! Staff was so responsive to requests. The Doormen were amazing! Housekeeping was on point!
- 5/5
Very comfortable and spacious.
- 1/5
The room was vintage gone very wrong. Peeling paint, broken moulding and blinds. The carpet must have been original. For the premium price we paid for 5 star it felt like rural someplace above the dime store.
- 4/5
Cute boutique hotel in a nice area- edge of mid/ upper east side. Close to nice shops, restaurants and subway. Staff was courteous and helpful. Doorman on duty at all times. My husband and I appreciated the firm mattresses on the beds- hotels we've been staying in for the past few years have all had mattresses too soft and old. My only critique is the bathroom- Paint was peeling in multiple areas on the ceiling and walls (due to moisture issues), fixtures and vanity weren't in great condition and should be replaced. However, everything worked and the rest of the room itself, including the kitchenette was just fine.
- 3/5
i will not go back to this hotel
- 5/5
Loved the history of the place. It has been well maintained and was very spacious.
- 4/5
Although room was updated, furniture had stains, carpet loose at entry way and WC
- 4/5
Great reception, but rooms need a little attention
- 4/5
Staff were attentive, caring and thorough. The room is cleaned spotless everyday. We love the location too. Only issue is the room felt old and tired. Heating was tough to control. Otherwise, amazing.
- 5/5
This was among the best experiences we’ve had at a New York City hotel, and my wife and I are already thinking about the next time we can book this hotel.
- 3/5
Big space but furniture and decor was out dated. Only 2 plates in entire kitchen. No back up paper products.
- 4/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
Great space in a convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was outfitted perfectly for a short or long stay.
- 4/5
Able to check in early. Large comfortable room.
- 5/5
Large and quiet room with friendly staff right in a perfect location
- 5/5
The Lombardy was great! The room was large and clean and comfortable. The staff and service were helpful and kind. The location was great for where we wanted to be this trip.
- 5/5
Beautiful accommodations, convenient location, attentive staff.
- 3/5
I go to the city with some regularity. This is the first time I stayed hat this particular hotel. The location is amazing! I wish I could say the same about the service. The staff seemed completely disinterested rarely even looking up when speaking to you. I dont't think the doorman looked up from his phone one time during my stay. Perhaps it's just my midwestern sensibilities nut i expect at least a modicum of service and concern from the staff.
- 5/5
Awesome ,room and location
- 5/5
The room was immaculate, quiet, and spacious! I will definitely return to The Lombardy
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, very quiet hotel.
- 5/5
Boutique hotel with old charm … huge rooms! We loved the layout and the spaciousness of the room. The windows actually open, for air and the location is central to the train we needed.
- 4/5
Very spacious room for New York.
- 5/5
Awesome place, loved my stay. World stay again
- 5/5
Where to begin? From check-in to check-out, our experience was absolutely wonderful--the staff, the service, the location, and our room was a palace that I never wanted to leave. I can't wait to come back!
- 5/5
Great old school hotel in an A+ location.
- 4/5
Spacious clean room. Renovated bathroom with excellent shower.
- 4/5
Our only concerns were the bathroom had some cleanliness issues, and the sink drain was VERY slow. The staff was very curious and helpful, and we really enjoyed the 100 year old building! This was great for a family of four, and they even brought a roll away bed for us. We would stay here again!
- 3/5
Needs upgrading and training cleaning staff. There is no ramp from the street to reception.. at least 6 steps, complicated with suitcases.
- 1/5
The hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. The bathroom had no toilet paper or blow dryer in the room. The rooms are very outdated and the bed was hard as a rock. Would not recommend this place at all. The pictures are very deceiving.
- 5/5
Location was terrific and room was spacious. Will be back.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel. Great room, perfect location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very clean, plenty of amenities
- 5/5
Original "upgrade" was a strange space, (seemed half remodeled/half upgraded). Heat was "off" till outside temp feel below 50 F. I flipped out. $500 a night/no heat? They moved us after my complaint to a great room and we had a blast.
- 4/5

- 5/5
The hotel is charming with a homey feel. The cleaning staff were very attentive & helpful when I needed to rotate the mattress and have the broken bedframe fixed. Initially the mattress has a sinkhole in it, but they were able to adjust it somewhat. I live the location of the hotel, but the entry stairs can be a hassle if you have a lot of luggage as we did.
- 3/5
Nice staff. Property needs a bit of love. Rooms relatively clean, but dusty and musty.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, lovely room, great location, easy elevators
- 5/5
The staff very friendly and provided excellent service.
- 5/5
View was not scenic. Difficult to control temperature in room. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
- 5/5
Everyone and everything was great!
- 5/5
Staff was great!
- 5/5
Lovely staff, clean room and great location.
- 5/5
Yed
- 5/5
all ran smooth
- 4/5
Several issues w/the room. Window in living room is coming out of casing. Toilet was terribly and tightly located. Was also at least four inches lower than most toilets. Silverware tray only included knives. No mat in the bathtub, so very slippery. Lightbulbs were out in the bedroom.
- 3/5
I was a little disappointed in the fact our room didn’t look anything like the pictures. It’s definitely an older hotel and our room/bathroom could have used some updating. The only trouble we had was there was four of us in a room and they kept leaving only two washcloths and two or three towels so we always had to ask for more.
- 3/5
Bathroom sink was clog up a few times. Water bottle was given room only 1st day. You have to ho to the front desk for daily water. No temperature control.
- 5/5
The room was large and comfortable with two TVs. Staff was friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs and inquires.
- 5/5
The hotel was located in a great area: safe and walkable. We didn't hear any street noise. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
HUGE room.
- 5/5
Historic hotel, well maintained. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good service, great location. Quiet, dark rooms.
- 5/5
Nice towels and towel warmer Great shower, very comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep.
- 5/5
We had a fabulous stay at the Lombardy! Our room was actually spacious and comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. The location couldn’t be beat. It’s just off Park Ave, close to Central Park and an easy walk to the subway. We will definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The hotel is a little old as I mentioned, and you can see the wear and tear in some places. All that said, it wasn't anything that really bothered us, it was very minor. All the important things have been updated. The staff was friendly enough, nothing to complain about at all. My only issue with the hotel was the lack of food amenities. No restaurant or even coffee available in the morning. This part of the city is full of restaurants and there are coffee shops and restaurants all within a block of the hotel, so it wasn't the biggest inconvenience, but it would have been nice to have something on site. The typical guest here is older, so it's a nice, quiet hotel if that's what you want. If you're looking for someplace young and hip, this isn't the place. All in all, it's a definite recommend. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for and I'd say it is worth it.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Our suite was clean and spacious. The hotel staff was very helpful. Nearby dining options are plentiful and upscale. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The room is spacious and well equipped with amenities. The front desk is extremely helpful. The location is excellent for shopping, food, museums visit and close to Central Park. Overall, our stay in Lombardy was excellent and we will be back!
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Always love the stay . The rooms are spacious , clean and quiet!
- 5/5
Very helpful and friendly staff, in particular the gentleman on the door and above all the very charming room maid who was friendly and chatty and in general made our stay a more pleasant experience!
- 4/5
The property was very clean. Staff welcoming. Our room and bathroom seemed been newly updated so all excellent on that regard. Amenities adequate — I would definitely consider staying at The Lombardy on my next visit to NYC.
- 5/5
air conditioning was amazing.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel, quiet and elegant. Clean and large rooms. Would highly recommend this hotel
- 4/5
Construction on the street, room was nice but needed a little refurb
- 4/5
We like the spacious rooms in this hotel. Plenty of storage and closet space. The service is not always great and there is no room service available. The location is convenient to restaurants we enjoy.
- 5/5
Very old school classic hotel and service. Good value.
- 5/5
Great location. Great sized rooms + kitchenette was a bonus. Quiet. Comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 1/5
This place is a total scam A 2 star masquerading as a 4 star. Run from this place, it’s gross. We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in NYC and almost impressively this will go down as the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed out in New York (LA took worst of all time). If you want to learn new ways to skimp on everything, then check this place out. Otherwise, Shame on Expedia for offering it and giving it a 9 rating. That’s a total lie - somebody got paid off. We are only staying one night and getting out of here.
- 5/5
Recommended highly.
- 4/5
this time we had a few housekeeping issues ..the toilet char broke twice the curtain and rod fell down in the middle of the first night.. however the staff and large rooms made up for these mishaps.
- 4/5
The staff are excellent. The property is worn, and needs service.
- 5/5
Good location room was great service was great too
- 4/5
Great space and location, but nothing else.
- 5/5
Very quick trip. Coffee maker was a bit hard to work with but it was comfortable and front desk staff was great
- 5/5
Clean and spacious and well appointed.
- 5/5
Would stay here again. Room was large and quiet. Which is so rare for NYC.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 2/5
For the price, it lacks level of furnishings and amenity I expect. Internet very slow plus poor cell service when in the room
- 5/5
Great front desk receotion
- 3/5
Great location but condition of the room was a little rough. Lots of things damaged - for that kind of money expected more. Friendly staff though
- 5/5
Perfect location, very central to a lot, close to the subway as well. Safe, staff was super friendly and even helped out when I needed to check in earlier than anticipated. Would recommend
- 3/5
This is a residence hotel where the rooms are owned by different owners and other than rooms there are almost zero services offered. There is no room service and no way to have breakfast at the hotel. I wasn’t aware of this fact. The cost is high and the service low.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly, reasonably priced.
- 3/5
- Good water pressure & temp - A/C works well - Large room - Clean sheets / comfortable bed - No pests or vermin - Nice staff - Quiet elevators even for adjacent room Cons: - Room keys frequently need to be reset - Elevator out of commission, down to single elevator - Leak in bathroom faucet, mold behind other faucet/backsplash - Aging fixtures - Some disrepair - gouges in wall, carpet unraveling, broken tile, shade roller chain unanchored from drywall - strange organic debris in kitchen sink I've stayed at better in the area for the same price
- 5/5
The standard room and bathroom were large and attractive. The linens were comfortable. Room 1615 needs a new mattress.
- 5/5
Six of my girlfriends and I stayed in the three bedroom. Huge big beautiful place with a balcony there was so much room. We had a fabulous time very clean. Will be going back next time. I’m in New York.!!!!
- 4/5
Wish they offered breakfast or at least coffee in lobby. I don’t like espresso, and that’s the only thing they have in the room. VERY quiet, which I loved.
- 5/5
Great quiet property with convenient location to transportation and shopping. Staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. Room was clean and while a little old, still comfortable and spacious. The only thing I would change is to add curtains to my room’s windows. There were opaque shades but these were not sufficient to block out the light at night. It was bright enough to read without turning a light on.
- 5/5
Perfect location, nice quiet hotel.
- 2/5
I understand that your paying for location more than anything but the least they can do when they charge as much as they do is invest in the property. This place hasnt been updated since the 80s it seems. Everything about it was shabby, the bathroom, the bed the old carpet, the weird tv everything just smacks of cheap but prices were anything but cheap and they have the audacity to charge a hidden $28 a night resort fee on top of their exorbitant rate. Wouldnt stay here again unless it was a fraction of the price
- 4/5
Spacious and comfortable. Liked having a small kitchenette.
- 5/5
Great midtown location Hotel I stayed at for 15 years closed for renovations Happy to find this hotel
- 5/5
Wonderful rooms with attentive service. Great location with Central Park within walking distance!
- 5/5
Large rooms. Very friendly and kind staff.
- 5/5
Large rooms. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very roomy hotel room for New York. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here.
- 3/5
The room was clean and a good size. The bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well. The location was good. But... it was noisy and the room felt about 20 years overdue to be refitted.
- 5/5
Spacious rooms. Great for families. Beds were old and slightly uncomfortable. Staff was
- 1/5
The bathroom was disgusting. Mildew on the ceiling or black mold all over. Gross!!!
- 5/5
Our stay at the Lombardy Hotel was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and the staff were very helpful.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my stay at the Lombardy. Pleasant staff, spacious, well-appointed room, renovated bathroom, attentive housekeeping. Well located for family event I attended 13 blocks away. In a bit of a food desert (relative to other Manhattan neighborhoods)--but I walked to 2nd Ave to find what I needed. Window onto airshaft, but good black-out shade helped me feel in a comfy cocoon. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Spacious rooms. Staff was Accommodating and friendly.
- 2/5
The condition of the room was very poor. The door lock looked like someone had taken a crowbar to it. The carpet was dirty and the room bizarrely has a locked closet. The damage to the door did not feel safe
- 3/5
On the downsides: the bed was old, creaky and hard. Not firm…hard. The bedding was a few sheets over top of one of those blankets that are usually in hotels as an extra, not a duvet. A/C was a little loud. Towels: bath towels were a touch small. The hand towels were brand new, which meant they left lint all over your clean hands after washing. Didn’t use the gym, and the hotel doesn’t have dining available. If the bed was more comfortable, I’d recommend this place. But didn’t get a good night’s sleep either night.
- 5/5
Ideal property to stay in a busy loud city
- 5/5
Stayed in unit 811 for a few nights. Beautiful and spacious room. It's a prewar building, so it has a great charm. Bathroom was small but had everything I needed and awesome shower pressure. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Location is also very convenient to shopping or walking down to Rockefeller center an Times Square.
- 5/5
Great Property
- 5/5
Wonderful room and perfect location.
- 5/5
I love this place. Spacious room, ultra friendly staff, and
- 5/5
Great property if you want to feel like you are at home. Spacious apartment style accommodation. A few blocks from Central Park and Park and 5th. A short walk to Time Square. So safe. Easy walk to grand central station.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly hotel was clean
- 5/5
A property I go to every time I am in the city.
- 5/5
Very surprised at how spacious the room was
- 5/5
Spacious rooms. Great work space, working Wi-Fi, and enough storage. Good staff and service. Very good option for a longer stay and if you need extra space. Nice kitchenette for a quick meal. Would consider staying at Lombardy again.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great spacious room, 12 pm checkout, the staff happily stored my luggage till later, close to subway station. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Highlight of the stay was the staff for me...the front desk, doorman and housekeeping staff were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. The location of the hotel is why I chose it in the first place.
- 5/5
Great hotel, and ideal set up for me, my wife and 2 kids, with a 2 bedroom suite. Excellent space and size for a NYC hotel room and fantastic location. Very friendly and attentive staff. Thanks Lombardy Hotel
- 5/5
Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff
- 3/5
Good location and walkable to many locations. The room is spacious and the beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean. Our apartment had a leak in the ceiling which looked like it was coming from about apartment but nothing was done to stop it. The cleaners were good and attentive. There is a tourist tax which I wasn't aware of which can be catch out some folks. The concierge was very nice.
- 4/5
Great facilities in global
- 5/5
Clean very helpful and kind staff Also very pet friendly
- 5/5
The room was actually like an apartment, it was enormous! charming and modern amenities. Great location, lovely staff. Would definitely stay here again
- 3/5
I was shocked to look for a bar/dining area to find the hotel had none. This would have made me look elsewhere had I known before booking.
- 5/5
The rooms were large, definitely the only time a room in NYC was spacious. The mattress was very good and combined with the quietness, I slept very well
- 3/5
We liked everything - the quirkiness of the room with a wall of book shelves and books, a giant mirror leaning against the sall; didn’t mind that we had to call when the hot water didn’t come up, we liked the hotel very much. What we didn’t like was when we checked out, were told that as we had prepaid, we could just go. Days later, we were charged $57, calling the hotel, I was told that there was a facilities charge of $25 per day, pus tax.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay. Great location
- 2/5
Rooms were roomy, but far from a four star hotel. We had a two bedroom two bath couldn’t get out to use the balcony because the door was broken. We had a two bathroom had a broken toilet never fixed while we were there. I informed the staff and the staff shrugged it off. Otherwise, the day was satisfactory.
- 5/5
The size and cleanliness were great for NYC
- 5/5
Great location, free water bottles.
- 5/5
This hotel is within walking distance of Central Park, 5th Ave shopping, the Plaza Hotel (for a drink in their Champagne room). Rockefeller Center was only 5 blocks away from FAO toy store, LEGO, and Nintendo store. Top of The Rock was sooo much better than I thought. Hotel was quiet and so classy for a boutique hotel off the main crowded roads. Room was huge in a 1 King Suite with a FULL KITCHEN! Microwave, stove, fridge, dishes, silverwear, etc. You name it, they had it. Robes, slippers, daily house keeping. You name it. Would most DEFINITLY stay here again next time!!
- 5/5
Came in clutch
- 5/5
Very spacious
- 5/5
The staff was super nice. The doormen greeted my daughter and me every time, making the experience of being at the hotel more enjoyable.
- 5/5
Great location. A lot of public transport from Lexington St
- 4/5
Nice size room. AC a little noisy.
- 5/5
Very nice. Would stay there again
- 5/5
Clean and well maintained room, interior and exterior spaces. Excelled room service. Quiet and comfortable stay, we stayed in a King bed - studio, excellent for a family of three.
- 5/5
Beautifully appointed hotel in a great area close to Times Square and Central Park. Staff were nice and helpful, would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Location and size of the rooms are unique. And so is the value for the quality and service. We recommended this hotel to all our friends who visit NY. Had the Best stay.
- 5/5
Excellent location near subways and Central Park. We chose the hotel both for location and availability of a suite. Perfect for traveling with our teenage niece. Bathroom was separate from the main bedroom which made it easy for sharing. Great views from the 20th floor. Fitness room good quality for a hotel.
- 3/5
Room was large and beds were nice.
- 3/5
Understaffed not clean halls no services pretty much needs a reneovation the prices are too high for this hotel
- 4/5
The suite we had was large and very nicely furnished. One nit picky thing about the room was that we had nightstands on both sides of the bed which is good but one side had no outlet to plug our phone charger in. It seems to me an easy solve is to have lamps with an outlet in the base of the lamp. The lamp was plugged in to an outlet which must have been in the middle of the bed and not accessible. We like the quiet lobby and the location was perfect for us as we were visiting friends that both lived within an easy walk from our hotel. The staff was friendly and we had good housekeeping service.
- 5/5
A fabulous location and our suite could not have been lovelier or more comfortable.
- 5/5
Terrific NYC spot. Nicely upgraded
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
Appreciated the early check in and later check out to accommodate my travel plans
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay! Close to the park and subway. Very clean. Great staff! Very spacious!
- 5/5
Great room wonderful hotel would stay here again in a heartbeat
- 5/5
The location was great, staff friendly and an upgrade on the previous hotel.
- 4/5
Lower property rating was for an AC unit in the bedroom that made noise, even after reporting the issue to the front desk.
- 5/5
I liked the location because it was quiet and I could go for a run a the central park. The gym was small. Overall great experience.
- 4/5
Service was good and location is fantastic---close enough to Central Park that I did two runs in the mornings. The (standard) room was big enough and well equipped, including microwave, plates and cutleries. The TV was on the small side, but adequate. One small concern is the close proximity of the bed to the periodically activated (and audible) air-con by the window, which blew cold air directly at me that disrupted my sleep the first night. In subsequent nights, I slept at the furthest edge of the queen-sized bed, which alleviated the problem to some extent.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with professional staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Very large room with comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Great stay at the Lombardy! Our two bedroom renovated apartment was extremely comfortable with two king bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, large sitting area with big screen tv, banquet table for 4 and kitchen with two bar seats. The location was very convenient to Central Park south, midtown 5th ave shopping (Saks) and two blocks east of Trump tower. We walked all over & easily got Lyfts & Ubers within minutes as needed. Go “green” if you have a choice bc driving around in a tesla was so fun with the sunroof. Such a quiet location! No city nose from our non-street front apartment.
- 5/5
The architecture & decor that’s been preserved & continues to be well kept. Would def stay again.
- 5/5
The Lombardy is a lovely hotel in a great location just off Park Avenue with easy walks to MOMA, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. Our two room suite was modern and very generous in size for Manhattan. We only had a minor snafu with the elevator, but the staff immediately went to work and handle it wonderfully. Overall, we will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Very nice, friendly staff and great location
