Reviews
Guests generally enjoyed their stay at the Lexington, appreciating the helpful and friendly staff, as well as the hotel's prime location. However, several guests expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms, unexpected fees, and small room sizes.
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Prime location
- Unexpected fees
- Rooms not as clean as expected

The bell staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating! Trying to reach the front desk from your room phone is nearly impossible, it is extremely busy. This was a very busy weekend in NYC, though, so that could have been it. We were put in a room that was next to a carpet dryer in the hallway with a musty smell, so that was disappointing, but the room was very nice, shower pressure was amazing and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in! Overall, a great stay. I wish the bar had stayed open later, last call was 10:45pm.

Good breakfast, great position but strict times for check in

Very friendly staff & great location

The hotel was clean and the room was nice. But it was a slow check in process and there was a resort fee added weeks after booking which i wouldve prefered been added in the start

The check in line had approximately 50 to 60 people in front of me and took 50 minutes to check in. Even if you were elitis status you stood in the same line. The Wi-Fi didn’t work and took 2 hours to resolve. No one answers the guest services or operator phone. You get a recording that their voicemail is not set up. You have to go down to the front desk for service. I wouldn’t recommend this awful hotel to anyone. They couldn’t pay me to stay there.

Everything was great other than the fee for holding bags. Buffet breakfast not worth the price.

The hotel is in an excellent midtown location, close to subway stations, excellent resteraunts on 3rd avenue and walking distance to St. Patrick's cathedral and 5th avenue shopping. We also enjoyed that it was attached to a Starbucks for access to early morning coffee. The staff were all wonderful except for a young woman in the gift shop where we picked up complimentary water. The bed was very comfortable and I have to say the showerhead was the best! The only issue (minor) we had is the vent fan in the restroom didn't work. We did not go to the bar or restaurant but they looked awesome and inviting. Would definitely stay here again.

For being one of the older hotel and more well know … I expected more. I will probably try another hotel but . I would stay again if needed . It wasn’t horrible

My stay there was fine though impersonal. I was surprised when I checked in that they charged me about $35 as a resort fee. But there didn’t seem to be any amenities except Wi-Fi. This however, came with a $35 credit at the restaurant. So I used it for a very expensive hotel buffet breakfast that was OK but not great. The coffee came in paper cups. I checked out and went to stay at a friend’s house for another week in New York. When I got to my friends house, I realized that I had left my nightgown behind at the hotel. I called and was not able to get through to a person but got info on how to report my lost item on a website. I did that. The following day, I thought I’d just go by the hotel. The line was really long to talk to somebody at the front desk and I really need to go to the bathroom so I asked at the restaurant if I could use the restroom and they said it was upstairs and you could only use it if you had a key card. Where do people go to the bathroom when they’re eating at the restaurant or drinking at the bar? I waited a while longer and the line wasn’t moving and then I begged the people at the restaurant and one of them finally rolled her eyes and gave me a couple key cards that she thought might work.I finally talked to somebody who was somewhat helpful and put me through to housekeeping. Housekeeping side and said they didn’t have time to look for my stuff. They said I’d hear back through the website. I never did. Hotels are about service and they failed that.

Time for Marriott to spend some money if this is their brand these days. Total disappointment in old run down room and lobby. Sorry but accurate. Very disappointing even if in midtown it’s still suppose to be better than others. Nope

Helpful friendly staff, lovely and clean and room was large and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate recommending a stay here.
- 4/5
They will charge a mandatory 35 per person daily fee to eat in their restaurant & for the gym if you want to use it or not so be sure to calculate that into your total price (not the amount quoted … the daily additional charges are not optional….

Cleaning could be done better. I stayed for two days and they didn’t clean my room once.

Great place to stay, conveniently located near all the major attractions.

Terrible staff member was racist & discriminated against me. She called for next guest but did not acknowledge me or look up. I wasn't sure who said it so I waited for 5 min until she called again the next time & this time looked up trying to trick guests

We love this property. It’s so fun and neat!

I will definitely return.
- 2/5
Breakfast was terrible since we came down 15 minutes before closing and we were charged for two when the convenience fee was supposed to cover one of the two breakfasts.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice. The staff was very helpful very friendly. The only problem is I had a problem with my shower, but i I was extended a later checkout so that was nice
- 4/5
But then everything else after that was downhill, overwhelmed, and discourteous staff- and our bedroom was not made properly! I kept calling the reception, spoke to them, message them and literally begged them to clean our room. Nobody responded and when I went down to complain when someone was very rude and I just left.
- 2/5
Nevertheless, we had only one set of towels in the room as we discovered that night. There is a vending machine for expensive champagne but none for water or soda. Dropping off bags after check-out costs extra. Everything felt in-inviting, un-friendly.
- 4/5
You have to pay for them to keep your luggage!

- 4/5
The staff was outstandingly attentive, helpful and friendly. The bed was remarkable. The hotel rooms are small with few amenities-can't even make tea in room, no fridge and no microwave was surprising.
- 4/5
I like the location of the hotel. The rooms need updating. There was a smell in my room and outside in the hallway. .
- 5/5
The hotel is conveniently located near subway lines and many popular landmarks, making it easy to get around the city and explore. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they were clean and had everything I needed, a comfortable bed, TV, and shower. While the space is compact, it met my expectations and worked well for my trip. My only suggestion would be to improve bathroom ventilation, as an exhaust fan or vent would make the space more comfortable. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and would recommend the Lexington Hotel to travelers looking for a convenient location, friendly service, and good value.

Started out by the most rude employee at check in. She was very disrespectful and would not listen to anything I said. The manager when I left at 3am for my flight was very nice. The room was not good. The bathroom ceiling looked like it was falling down. Just needs a major renovation. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
The front desk lines could get a bit long at times, but that was expected during a busy holiday weekend. I didn’t use housekeeping during my short stay, though the staff seemed hardworking and helpful throughout the hotel. One nice surprise was the mezzanine lounge area with comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and a good space to relax for a bit outside the room. The hotel itself doesn’t offer parking, but using SpotHero to reserve a nearby garage ahead of time saved a significant amount compared to paying directly at local garages. Overall, a solid, clean hotel in a great location for a reasonable NYC price.

The location was perfect The bathroom felt old and the tub was shaped weird

Nothing I am a directing manager at a large bank in Europe, I came to New York with family but this hotel ruined my experience from the beginning. I arrived from overseas trying to get some rest at 11 PM. The bed was WET and had a SMELL. The entire room smelled like wet rag. The front desk told me that they will come RIGHT AWAY to clean the room. So I waited, and I waited, and I WAITED. 12 AM, 12:30 AM, 1AM, and nothing. The front desk stopped picking up calls, completely ghosted. Such hospitality. I wonder if I paid them or they did paid me. Eventually, I fell asleep fully dressed waiting for them in the wet sheets. My greatest first NYC night experience. When complained the next day, I was told “you have no extra charges on your room so we cannot compensate”. Yes, I didn’t exactly want to order champagne when my bed is wet, did I? No mini-fridge, AC messed up, very small room, humid, can touch the ceilings with my hands. American standard? No idea. Don’t stay here and don’t bring your family here. By the way, want to keep your luggage there? $3 per item. Never seen this, such a scam.
- 4.5/5
The location is great- a really close walk from Grand Central and it's a very walkable location to everything in midtown. The bed was so comfy too.

This is a pleasant hotel with a pleasant staff. The hotel is somewhat noisy for sleeping. Nothing can be done about the sirens and traffic outside. However, the elevators are quite noisy at night. Some of the noise is sheer mechanics, but the elevators also play music, and the volume is too loud at night. I could hear the elevator music each time someone used the elevator on my floor (26th).

As a Marriott card member, this was one of the worst properties I have ever stayed at. The lobby was nice. The rooms were dirty. When we checked in and got in our rooms, one room had garbage still in it, mirror was peeling, bathroom was dirty. In the other room we had, the shower handle kept coming off and there was blood on the floor and walls. We expressed our concerns with the front desk on 2 occasions and was promised it would be taken care of, it never was. We gave up and just dealt with it. I can go on and on so do yourself a favor and do not stay here.

The room was a bit old but very clean. There weren’t many amenities such as cotton pads or slippers. They do give you unlimited water at the reception 24H. So that’s good. They’ve cleaned the room thoroughly everyday. The bar is also great. Breakfast was normal and perhaps a bit lacking for the price. Overall, the location was incredible if you’re a tourist.

Very expensive for a very basic room with a very small bathroom. 2 elevators seemed to be out of service which made for long waits to get an elevator. Nothing special about this hotel. It was fine for an overnight business trip.
- 3/5
Location to restaurants and grand central is great. Size of room was good and beds were good. Bathroom was not as good, toilet flush spewed water onto floor, shower temp was almost impossible to adjust.
- 2/5
It’s a tired old hotel that seems to be falling apart at the seams. Elevators were stalling, bathrooms were shabby, drains were slow. And the fact that Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio stayed there 75-ish years ago does little to make up for the reality that it has not been properly maintained through the years. It does have location going for it.
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff
- 4/5
The location is excellent: five minutes from Grand Central which makes it convenient from the airport, and super-central without being close to the intensity of Times Square. The hotel also has some nice historic touches, such as leaving the old-fashioned letterbox intact. The staff were lovely - in particular, Tenzin at housekeeping did an excellent job. The bathroom felt a little tired, and could do with a refresh. In addition, this is the first hotel I've stayed in for a very long time which hasn't had any coffee- or tea-making facilities in the room. It's possibly the first hotel I've ever stayed in where there is no fridge in the room. If these things had been corrected, the hotel would have been perfect.

The cons: the lights on my bathroom mirror did not work so it was pretty dark. First day, I tried to call down but no one answered the phone. Walked down and was told they would come fix. They never did. The bar closes at 11:00p and they open at 5:00p. I feel like those are very limited hours for a hotel bar! The hotel charges $35 a DAY for some sort of fee. They do give you that back in credit for food or bar (see above comment) but being in NY, I don’t imagine most people will eat at the hotel restaurant. So I lost a few of those days, especially because of the bar hours.

Rooms were clean front desk staff was mixed we had a nice person and one that was extremely short. She failed to explain amenities and fees which she went over with every other customer not sure if it was because I was younger or a female but I was annoyed that I did not receive the same level of service as the white male patrons. The breakfast is a complete rip off what should be free Continental breakfast cost $80 for 2. A tip was requested prior to entering no one sat us or even brought us drinks. A mandatory $35 per day was charged to my card. Overall it's location is convenient and the rooms are clean. Bell hops were polite and helpful

Clean, great location. Imagine: you’re exhausted after a long flight, you arrive at your hotel around 4 pm expecting a quiet and comfortable stay, and the first thing you do is take a nap because you’re genuinely beyond tired. About an hour later, the fire alarm goes off. Not just loud, but painfully loud, the kind of sound that instantly jolts you awake in complete confusion. It keeps going and going, and only several minutes later there’s an announcement saying it was a false alarm. Honestly, I would’ve completely understood and moved on. These things happen, and guest safety should absolutely come first. But then, after finally managing to fall asleep again, it happened a second time around midnight. Same deafening alarm, same confusion, same announcement telling everyone to disregard it. Two false alarms in one evening at a hotel where people are specifically paying to rest after traveling is a lot.

Location was central to NY I shifted rooms twice over my 3 day stay, in all the rooms, I couldn’t access Wi-Fi from any of my devices. Their public wi-fi was operating in the lobby area but room wi-fi was inoperable. The last shift to room 2717 - top floor, I believe - I couldn’t sleep the whole if Fri and Sat night, since the lift operating machinery was right above/ near the top floor - which made noise very time lift operated. The carpets in the room were cleaned probably more than a decade ago - they were super dirty looked like grease floor from the car cleaners! I was charged $36/ day over 3 nights which was over and above the total amount charged by Booking.com including the taxes. I was told the “credit” could be used for breakfast or drinks - if I don’t use it, I will loose it. There was nothing of this sort clarified when I was making the booking thru your app. I had to pay $9 for my 2 suitcases and 1 laptop bag storage for a couple of hours after checkout. Don’t know for what. It is quite disturbing when I don’t get what I contractually pay for - based on the experience, your website is misrepresenting the rate.

Bathroom had no window that opened neither did the room so whenever someone would shower everything got wet. We even had to leave the roll of toilet paper outside of the bathroom because if you left it inside the bathroom it got completely damp.

Everything great but the fact that you get charged for keeping your bags in the lobby if you get there before or you leave after checking, is terrible and also you need to pay with cash no one carries cash anymore

The room was clean, but too small! smaller than an ordinary hotel room in Japan. The restroom is also too small. The shower(tub) and sink drain slow. The soap, shampoo, & conditioner was almost empty when we came, and they did not refill when we had it cleaned on the 2nd day, so we ran out of shower gel. The bar soap for the hands was also not replaced evethough it was soaking on the container provided, most hotels would. There was no slippers provided or bath robes. There was a $35/day daily charge that we were told we could use on the breakfast buffet, but the person on the front did not explain that they will charge us separately for that, then

Twice our bathroom toilets had issues - leaking the first time, a flush button that stuck on the second. Twice our window curtains had paint on them. Twice it felt like the hotel is banking on its legacy instead of providing an experience today. This time, I was surprised that I was charged for leaving my bags while I waited for my room to be ready - I’ve found that to be complimentary in that situation elsewhere. Not a big deal, but the brusque older gentleman barking “$3 per bag” really kicked off our experience with a certain tone. I’d stay at the Lexington again if it was an especially good deal and my time was limited. But overall, I’d like the hotel to be excited about the experience it’s delivering guests today, not just who lived there in the past.

Everything went extremely smooth. Nicole made the check in process so easy!
- 5/5
Very clean room, comfortable beds, great staff, great location. Loved Starbucks downstairs.
- 4/5
We liked the hotel, but we found on the 7th floor that there was a great deal of HVAC noise going in and out in a very loud pattern of noise, that was keeping us awake. Kindly, they did move us to a higher floor, and that made a very big difference. They also did give us a bottle of wine to compensate.
- 3/5
I arrived at the hotel @1:30 pm to do an early check in. They told me they had a room reserved but would not be ready until 4 regular check in time. I dropped off my luggage and went to do some things in the city. Went back about 4:45. I let Hose know that I had came by earlier to do early check in. He asks for my room number and I told him one wasn’t given to me. He checked in the system to see if my room was cleaned and the couldn’t find a room assigned to me. After about 30-40 min. A room was assigned. By this time it is around 5:15 pm. Check-in is at 4 pm. We took our luggage to room 310. It was cute and I started inspecting it. It has 2 windows which I was happy until I got to pull the shades up to the window adjacent to the bed would not roll up. The pulley was broken. So only one window I was able to see out of. Later that day after walking round in the city on a hot day we go back to the room and wanted to take a shower. I turn the water on and try to set it to a warm temp. No success. It was either ice cold or scorching hot. It would not stay warm. The other issue I didn’t like was that a mandatory $35 a day that is added to use for “credit”. I am not from NY and didn’t want to eat or drink at the hotel. That should be a choice not a mandatory thing. Other then that the hotel was cute.
- 3/5
Hosusekeeping was very good and room was clean. Food at breakfast buffet was average. Front desk staff helpful. Good location. Close to many things to do. Good value.
- 3.5/5
Great location, $35/day food or beverage credit, very friendly staff, free waters always available. A bit dated. No microwave or fridge in room. TV didn’t work for the duration of our stay. Valet is very pricey when there’s a $20/night valet deck one block over.
- 4/5
Hotel was nice overall, I waited a while to check in but the check in lady gave me a room with a very nice view. My room overall was clean but found a couple lashes on the bathroom floor and in the drawers. Also, I wasn’t a huge fan of all the fees that I had to pay on top of the room rate.
- 4/5
Well maintained hotel and super comfortable bed.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice, i’m disappointed that we were too busy to take advantage of all the amenities.
- 4/5
Nice room and a good hotel. The $35 per day resort fee, in return for $35 that you can only spend at a very mediocre breakfast buffet or bar (I don’t drink) is very scammy and would stop me staying there again.
- 3/5
Por el precio facturado de 4 días y 3 noches lo encontré muy caro y en la habitación no había ni una cafetera ni una nevera.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed! No coffee in room but there is an attached Starbucks by the lobby. There are a lot of good breakfast spots nearby.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Nice location, clean , friendly staff. Would book again
- 3/5
The first room I was given was on the fourth floor right above the hotel’s outside air conditioning unit. At first I thought it was the unit in the room itself but when I turned that off it was still like being next to a jet engine. I called them and they were fine swapping my room to a 9th floor one facing the street versus a 4th floor one facing the back. One that was sorted, it was a very pleasant stay.
- 1/5
The room is not ready until 9 PM and it was super tiny. It did not have a coffee maker
- 1/5
Bed nice
- 4/5
Beautiful property but the elevators are so loud you can hear them non stop all night long
- 5/5
The gentleman at the front desk was extraordinary.
- 5/5
Nice breakfast buffet.
- 1/5
Think "lipstick on a pig" to describe this run down, poorly maintained hotel. I felt like I was staying in a toxic room with the smell of mold and whatever else had accreted there. The rooms haven't been touched by fresh air in an eon.
- 5/5
The property is exceed my expectations for real. Really good comfort. The employees were nice and professionals.
- 5/5
Breakfast was really good, everything fresh and delicious. planning to come back again this summer!
- 3/5
inquire about additional charges mandated by the hotel and not disclosed by Travelocity. this should be changed and should be disclosed prior to booking.
- 1/5
Yes as a customer I understand you have to read the fine print. I have been using Hotels.com for over a decade. I have gotten accustomed to finding a deal and buying. This is the first time they have allowed a hotel to include additional “mandatory” fees and they blame the customer for not reading the fine print. This is predatory. Broken trust with Hotels.com. Shame on the hotels.com for including “mandatory” fee for crap I don’t want.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 3/5
Good
- 4/5
Conveniently located hotel. Walking distance to subway, good choices of restaurants nearby. As with most thinga in NY, very expensive hotel for a tiny single bed with a miniature bathroom. TV was old and screen was scratched. Staff is decent. Good enough to recommend for a short stay.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Breakfast was very good… bar staff proficient and congenial…room clean and housecleaning staff , proficient and congenial…location convenient… ONLY OBJECTION was being ambushed at check in with unexpected charges & resort fee!! Won’t patronize Bonvoy in the future or recommend it!
- 3/5
The toilet was broken in the first room I checked into. They switched my room and in the second room the television wasn’t working. They didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or offer any credits to make up for it. Shower in second room had a hair in it from previous guest. Overall room felt dubiously clean. Great location but otherwise would not stay again.
- 3/5
I’ve always loved this hotel and have stayed multiple times. It’s in an awesome area of the city, close enough to everything but not in the center of the chaos. However, this last experience, we were placed next to the housekeeping service elevator and we did not sleep the entire night. We could hear every time the doors opened, closed and whenever the elevator moved. I ended up asking for a room change and it was much better but truthfully the room we were in should not be an option for guests. It was really really loud through the entire night.
- 5/5
Excellent midtown Manhattan location! Clean & quiet hotel, helpful staff, comfortable king-size bed in our room. $35/daily "Destination Fee" (surprise) can be used for breakfast buffet, bar service, laundry, bicycles, etc. There is no restaurant inside this property. Yes, we would stay here again!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our quick stay at the Lexington. So cozy and clean. Close to every destinations we wanted to go. Highly recommended especially it is affordable
- 3.5/5
I liked the fact that the location wasn’t bad for staying in Manhattan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was exceptional. I liked that when I called maintenance to check the water not going down they did come in about 5 minutes tops. I didn’t like that we had to wait 20 mins for our room to be ready when check in was at 3p and we got there at 7p. I also didn’t like the smell of our bathroom in the room and the stains in the bathtub and toilet bowl was not cute. It was very unappealing. There was also no fridge or microwave in our room. We also had to go to another floor to get ice and then find a floor where the ice machine was actually working. The water pressure in the toilet bowl was very low. Also the sink water took forever to go down.
- 4/5
Very little water pressure on the 27 th floor . Bathrooms need updating. Some noise in the ceiling at night
- 5/5
My only complaint is that we didn't have a coffee maker in our room.
- 3/5
The hotel has a ver convenient location. However it is very "tired" and in need of refurbishment. The staff were variable: dome really helpful and friendly( especially the do.estic staff servicing the rooms, the restaurant staff and the younger guy at the door) others very disinterested and on their phones.
- 5/5
Great location. AMAZING Staff. Everyone from the valet, to the bag check men, to the women at the front desk I interacted with were incredibly kind and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I didn't bisit the breakfast room
- 5/5
We had a small issue and felt a bit dismissed by the staff. Otherwise the building was lovely. I
- 3/5
That was disappointing. They offered a meal on the room.for staying..they gave a ticket saying. My Wife ate and left a tip on the room and we were charged for the breakfast which was supposed to complimentary.
- 1/5
Absolute rudest staff of any hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Hotel charged extra fees, while Expedia said all fees included in price. Beware: Hotel did not tell us that we couldn’t use credit for breakfast on day we left. Instead we had to pay more out of pocket for crappy breakfast. Staff charged to hold baggage while we awaited for them to assign room. Room had disgusting mold/mildew smell. This hotel isn’t 4 stars. They nickel and dime you worse than pick-pockets who assault tourist. Do yourself a favor, stay anywhere else!
- 4/5

A very good selection and very good food
- 4/5
I would stay there again!
- 5/5
Great location, nice room
- 5/5
I didn’t have the chance to try the bar but breakfast was great. The pastries were excellent. Eggs were a little cold but other than that everything was perfect
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable bed and pillows, on site bar and free waters
- 5/5
Room was larger than expected . Staff were friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful place! Staff were amazing and treated us like welcomed guests. Highly recommend!
- 2/5
The rooms smelled extremely musky and damp. Really overpowering smell.
- 5/5
la limpieza del todo el lugr es excelente y la atencion del staff es superior
- 1/5
very bad service, treated us extremely bad when we first got there, told us expedia should’ve paid the extra 35 dollars a day but they didn’t so now we have to, one of the workers, an asian lady, refused to give us a room & said we’d have to wait until 3pm.
- 5/5
My stay at The Lexington was over Easter Weekend and was very pleasant. All of the staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The had festivities planned for Easter Sunday. While the housekeeping staff was very friendly and willing and they lack a little attention to detail. I only had them make up my room once and they left behind empy water bottles on the table and I found a very old bottle of eloctorlye tabs under the radiator that was probably there since the marathon. There was a strong odor of pee in the bathroom that I couldn't ascertain if it wasn't from a lack of cleanliness (as the bathroom could have used a deep clean but was clean enough) or if there was an issue with the plumbing. All in all that seems a small critique as my stay was very pleasant and I would definitely stay again.
- 0.5/5
they cancelled my stay and didn't even tell me they cancelled my stay and didn't even tell me
- 5/5
No microwave
- 3.5/5
Very loud heating system that disrupted my sleep, tv system played up, no instructions on how to call down to reception, wifi could have been better.
- 2/5
This hotel wasn’t comfortable. The rooms are older and filthy. The beds don’t have a duvet it felt like a heavier sheet, heat wasn’t working, the water was filling up in the tub each time we took a shower and the walls are paper thin.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Loved the hotel amenities.
- 3.5/5
Excellent location The heat was not stable
- 3/5
The rooms were not that nice. The bathroom was bad. Paint chipping, the plug on the shower was nasty. The staff was super nice. But the overall look of the hotel… nope, did not like it at all
- 5/5
Staff was courteous and professional
- 4/5
The room was very clean, the staff was always courteous, and in general extremely quiet. The bed was as very comfortable. My 2nd time staying and I will come again!
- 5/5
Excelente
- 5/5
Amazing location in Midtown. Excellent customer service as you can always expect from the Marriott family.
- 4/5
The lobby was beautiful. The staff was great.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great Location allowing approx. 15min walk into busy areas, Broadway Theatres and sight seeing areas. Fab deli across the road we used for breakfast/lunch (Park Ave Kitchen). Cons: Breakfast in hotel expensive for what was on offer, Bar only open from 5pm to 11pm and the 3 dollar charge for each bag left with door staff whether checking in or out is excessive (should be free for the standard of hotel)
- 2/5
The bathroom was falling apart, the towel rack was coming off and I was nearly cut by it. There were no robes nor slippers in the room. There was also no mini fridge as stated on the room amenities. Every time someone opened the linen closet outside they slammed the door and you could feel as if it was our door being opened and that went on for the entire night.
- 5/5
amazing staff, clean, warm. just at home
- 1/5
Horrible fee policy. It’s borderline theft “destination fee” even keeping your bags has a fee. No water or fridge in rooms. Location is good but the fees are not transparent at all.
- 5/5
Spotless room, great price, great service.
- 2/5
The room was near a gigantic fan that make huge noise 24/7
- 2/5
I was expecting a lot more for a 4 star hotel.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly, room was beautiful
- 4/5
The staff were super courteous when I went to the front desk to complain about a really loud neighbor, and she did not hesitate to change my room. The bathroom was freezing. The bed was super comfortable. Overall, it is a nice hotel that I would give four stars out of five.
- 5/5
Great, clean room. Easy access to subway. Staff went above and beyond on multiple occasions.
- 4/5
Room could have been cleaner, the tub filled with water with every shower. The hotel charged me nightly for our room although we already paid in full through Expedia. Their charges caused my bank account to go into the negative. Fortunately, nothing bounced in my account before I could get it straightened out. The destination fee wasn't explained clearly. We had an issue with our flight, causing us to go back and land in Philadelphia. The airline offered to drive us to New York which we decided to do. Unfortunately, that meant we were separated from our luggage. Our luggage arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm but they did not contact us that it arrived. We only found out when the airline's bag tracking app told us it had arrived. Would have been nice to know as we had been planning our day around the fact that we likely wouldn't have our luggage. When I went to get it in the morning, I was told that they didn't want to bother us cuz it was so late. REALLY? Don't you think people would want their luggage ASAP? Overall, past the few hiccups, it was basically what we needed, a bed and a shower.
- 5/5
AMAZING EVERYTHING
- 5/5
Charming room, helpful staff, great location.
- 4/5
Room was a little dated and we did not have a window which made it very dark. But the staff and amenities were great and location was wonderful.
- 3/5
The hotel room is very tired now but the beds are super comfy. I have stayed here several times and keep returning for the location and the bed comfort. The wind is whistling through the gaps in the windows, the blinds are gaping and they didn't go up on one of the windows. The bathroom is baltic & the toilet didn't flush properly ! No room service which was a suprise. The bar is excellent and Starbucks downstairs is a great option when your awake early with jetlag ! The lifts are quick too which can be a frustration in NYC hotels. The wind coming through the windows - the hotel seriously needs to sort this out and put blinds on the windows that go up and down. Get the WC flush fixed also.
- 3/5
Not as what l expected. The room was ok. No amenities at all. No coffee/tea in the room. No complimentary bottle of water. But the location is very close to attractions.
- 2/5
Stuff were rude and not helpful at all. The room was not in a good condition, cold and leaking toilet, dirty towels and broken furniture. No shampoo in the bathroom, empty bottles
- 5/5
Great bed, plenty of hot water during a very cold week
- 5/5
Hotel staff very kind and helpful
- 3/5
Rooms don't include a fridge and the ice machine didn't work. My room key reader broke requiring me to replace the room key 5 times.
- 5/5
Todo excelente gracias
- 5/5
I liked the location and comfortability of the beautiful view and the atmosphere in the hotel!!!! None
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, responsive to all requests, great location.
- 4/5
Stay was great. Checkin was an issue. I called an let them know when I would be arriving and they still scrambled to find me two rooms as they gave my rooms away and were at capacity
- 4/5
Location great for touring NY
- 3/5
Everything was good but after everything was booked and paid. The day before we checked in they added a random “mandatory fee” on for every day we were there. After booking for a set price this should not happen.
- 1/5
Bad service
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
loved it
- 3/5
First night, when opened bed cover, bed smelled like fish. Called to inform front desk, they immediately switched out our room.
- 4/5
Great location near Grand Central Station. Friendly staff, nice bar, clean room.
- 5/5
Our stay was exceptional. The staff provided exceptional assistance. The ambiance was pleasant, and the cleanliness of the room, along with the accessibility to various amenities, was commendable.
- 5/5
The clean room and helpful staff!
- 3.5/5
* Staff does their best to assist you of anything you need Conclusion: It's NYC, so understandably pricey than usual but at least were in the middle of the city *Seemed like our room preparation was rushed or the usual complimentary items like slippers and/or disposable hygiene kits aren't exactly a thing, for which case there goes my money. *Room is a little too dim even with multiple lamps on
- 3.5/5
No coffee in room
- 5/5
Perfect stay.
- 5/5
So close to everything, especially the terminals! N/A
- 0.5/5
It was a room with a bed for us to sleep after long days. I paid for a king size bed, the hotel staff had upgrades other customers to my room, so I was put in a queen size bed. They could not compensate me and offered me free breakfast and to waive a fee that had already been waived. When coming to New York, I'm not going to eat at my hotel. The staff was rude and they said there was nothing they could do because they were booked up. They need to give me the difference in the rooms back.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
super nice hotel, great staff, clean rooms
- 5/5
The rooms were clean although few things need an upgrade. The bath tub had chipped paint and the wash basin was accumulating water and could not drain out with the flow of the tap.
- 5/5
When we checked in they told us we had 35 dlls on each room ( we booked 3 rooms ) but when we tried to use it they told us only 2 rooms had the “ offer “ and we where charge something we were told we had as a reward :/
- 1/5
bad rust and fire alarm
- 1/5
The hotel itself felt very old and poorly maintained. The walls in the room were peeling, which immediately made the space feel neglected rather than boutique or upscale. Over the course of the stay, we were repeatedly given bed sheets and towels with visible brown stains, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one in this category. When we requested replacements, the situation was handled unprofessionally. Instead of properly changing the linens, the room service staff simply threw replacement sheets and towels toward us, leaving us to deal with it ourselves. This was surprising and frustrating, as basic housekeeping standards were not met. Additionally, the Wi-Fi never worked during our stay despite being advertised as an included amenity. This caused inconvenience throughout the trip, especially when trying to plan outings or handle travel-related matters. Overall, the hotel did not match its listing, branding, or price point. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made to cleanliness, maintenance, and service quality.
- 5/5
Room clean, chilled vibes, freindly staff.Excellent location
- 4/5
Amenities, staff, cleanliness, location.
- 4/5
Upgrade at check-in was nice. Lobby is quite beautiful. Room is nice. Bed was comfy. Good location. "Resort" fee seems high. Just keep the daily credit for food and drinks and dont charge me the resort fee. Breakfast was $35/pp and overpriced for the simple offering - eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon. Would consider staying here again if they remove or reduce the resort fee.
- 5/5
Overall good stay.
- 4/5
Clean and easy to get around. Needed some updating. Food was good, but overpriced.
- 4/5
Would stay again the bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
It was nice, the rooms are kind of small. We got a king sized room and had to get an upgrade to fit suitcases.
- 5/5
Great people
- 4/5
The only issues were the elevator wait time. Luckily, we were on the 4th floor so we could yake the stairs. The housekeeping could use some supervision.
- 5/5
Staff was great our one king bedroom was spacious and clean.
- 5/5
great customer service and everyone was very friendly. room was also very clean and big. loved our stay!
- 2/5
Room wasn’t ready until 7 pm.

Bad service
- 5/5
Clean room. Not small
- 5/5
After reading a lot of recent poor reviews I was pleasantly suprised with the hotel and stay. Yes it's an older hotel, but clean and very cozy. When booking I've mentioned that we will be celebrating my daughter's 18th BD. We've got early check in (although the hotel was busy), 18th floor and cake and chocolates in the room. It was very nice. Breacfast was delicious and included with our package. Great variety of food. Complimentary bottled water. Great location of the hotel. Not too busy area but close to everything. Overall excellent stay!
- 5/5
Service and room condition and description were great
- 5/5
What truly stood out was how accommodating the hotel was—from early check-in to late checkout, everything felt seamless and welcoming. My daughter, a first-time solo traveler (though it was her third time visiting New York), felt extremely safe the entire stay, which meant everything to me. The staff and housekeeping were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The $35 daily food and beverage credit was a great perk and became a fun part of her day—she really enjoyed the breakfast, pizza, and dessert, all of which were delicious. The location was amazing, within walking distance of everything, making it easy to explore. The room was clean and modern, and the bathroom was especially spotless and updated. Overall, it was an exceptional experience—comfortable, safe, and thoughtfully run. We would absolutely stay here again.
- 4/5
Small but simple room, good breakfast, excellent location
- 4/5
Room was excellent always happy to come back to new towels and a made bed
- 4/5
Great location nice staff
- 5/5
Todo estuvo excelente, la ubicación el personal y todo estuvo de maravilla
- 2/5
Room was very old, noise from street made it impossible to sleep. We had to change rooms bc first one had a broken faucet. Elevators were broken during stay resulting in very long waits, no coffee pot in room and I was charged for valet parking when I did not have a car with me!
- 4/5
Overall hotel was great but only one elevator was working so it was a wait every time
- 5/5
Clean. Easy access to public transportation facilities. Friendly staff. Starbucks connected to the hotel.
- 3/5
The room and staff were great. What wasnt great was the fact that Expedia's receipt said i paid upfront, but it turns out i did not and I was hit with an unexpected charge for the hotel after departure. The total cost in the end was more than what my Exepedia receipt shows.
- 2/5
It took 20 minutes to get an elevator and they were always over capacity. Water was not available in the room there was limited bell service long lines at the bell desk
- 4/5
We appreciated that the room was always clean, sometimes even a nice scent remained in the room. The staff were great, attentive and friendly, from the receiver, front desk, gift shop and cleaning staff, all excellent. The only complaint we could mention is that not all the elevators worked, therefore, sometimes we would have to wait a few rounds to be able to get to the lobby.
- 1/5
It's an old hotel and too expensive
- 5/5
Room very spacious and staff were very friendly and nice. Pretty close to Times Square and other places. I will definitely stay there again.
- 3/5
Check in line was inefficient. They had 6 people there but only one was checking in the customers. Also the elevators were either not working or always full so we had to use the stairs from the 11th floor. Otherwise location was good, and room was very nice.
- 4/5
All was good. Front desk seemed to be short staffed and elevators not working (2/6) which led to long waits
- 5/5
Good service
- 1/5
So, I stay in NYC frequently, and got this suite for my family of four to celebrate Christmas in NYC. Rooms are always quite small in NYC, so my comments are with that knowledge and experience. If you are going to book a suite, be prepared to hear CONSTANT thumping like construction all day and MOST of the night. The bedroom backs right up to the service elevators and will literally shake your room. We complained, but the only option was to move down a floor and it was still bad, so we just dealt. You need earplugs in NYC anyways, but this will ruin your sleep if you are a lighter sleeper or have infants you want to nap. None of the phones work. And no one picks up the desk phone, they always have some excuse. The hotel is older yes, but they do not maintain it. Also be prepared to wait upwards of 30 min for an elevator. They have six but only three work. People like us were literally dragging their bags and entire families down the steps. I walked 24 floors down just to talk to the front desk. The only thing they did was extend our checkout by 1.5 hrs. The only good thing about this hotel is the proximity to everything. Otherwise I would AVOID THIS HOTEL. It’s not as advertised and CERTAINLY not “Autograph” unless by that you mean terrible customer service, zero help, non functioning amenities and being charged $35 “breakfast and food fees” regardless of asking. - from someone who’s stayed there (Dec 2025) and worked IN HOTELS for years.
- 4/5
Great location.
- 4/5
Great hotel, long wait for elevators.
- 3/5
****HONEST REVIEW*** Me and my friends stayed here for 2 nights and I would say this hotel is perfect if you’re trying to find a budget friendly hotel in the city. The location was perfect. Everything such as the rockefeller and times square were 10 minutes walking distance. However, if you are trying to find something more luxurious, I would not recommend this hotel. There was no wifi, the tvs didn’t work, the curtain rodes that opened up to the view of the city did not work, therefore we couldn’t access any view. You could tell that the rooms definetly needed updates. Although, the staff was super friendly and very accommodating so overall I would rate this place a 3 out of 5 stars.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, good location
- 4/5
Only crib was the elevators, only 3 out of 5 were ever working which caused sometimes long delays getting to lobby from your room and there were often large queues to get in a lift back up to your room.
- 4/5
This hotel is in a great location in midtown. Close enough to walk to Times Square and Rockefeller. The room was small but cozy and quiet. A couple of the elevators were out of service, so getting to and from the lobby took time. I mistakenly left a few things in a drawer when we checked out. I notified them and came back later to retrieve everything, including a $100 gift card. Very much appreciated!
- 1/5
Tiny room - tiny bathroom - not enough light in bathroom and it was a suite!!
- 2/5
I was told 24 hours before check in about extra fees I would be charged. It was too late to make any changes to another hotel. I feel like I was scammed with all of the fees I paid. The ice machine was right next to our room and it was leaking so the carpet in the hallway was soaking wet all the time. I can't help but wonder how they can control any mold issues if the machine leaks like it does
- 2/5
The room had paint chips falling off the ceiling, there was no window, the duvet did not have a cover, the hallway smelled terrible and the elevators were broken... and that is just off the top of my head.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, the room was very clean and spacious, would definitely recommend anybody to go to this hotel. We loved our stay!!
- 3/5
Room was old... Line up out the door for check in. Only one elevator working...
- 4/5
Our bathroom was so small and outdated, missing bar on towel bar. Our sink sprung a leak, water all over. It was quickly rectified. The window in our room was broken, didn’t shut and they had multiple towels stuffed in opening for a long winter day.
- 3/5
Small room for big money. Bed was good though.
- 5/5
Check in with Philippe was excellent. Interacting with the staff every day at the stayton was excellent. The best was a complimentary bottle of wine and message from Cristian, one of the managers. I went to thank him personally but he was tied up so I will say thank you over the internet. Very kind. The bottom line is always would you go back and the answer is YES! Thanks for the memories Lexington!
- 1/5
The staff is very bad and if you want to contact them they never answer and overrate charge me more for something that they can’t even explain
- 3/5
It was just average
- 4/5
The room was clean. Staff was barely polite. Front desk people were nice but others not so much.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Spacious room, great staff, great location.
- 1/5
Room was in poor condition
- 2/5
Good location, some kind staffs and some bad staffs who are unwilling to help customers. Terrible destination fee terms. It was good in general but some parts were disturbing. Don't want to stay again at this hotel.
- 4/5
Definitely an older hotel, room felt muggy. Phenomenal location and spotless clean.

Me and my daughter recently stayed at the Lexington Hotel in NYC, and while the property is beautifully maintained and staffed, our experience was marred by an unexpected 'destination fee'. The location is unbeatable, and the front desk team was top-notch. Plus, the complimentary bottled water was a thoughtful touch. However, the $35 daily fee, mandatory and not clearly disclosed while booking, felt like a sneaky attempt to tack on extra charges. Yes, you can use the $35 as credit around the hotel, but again it’s mandatory. Overall, I'd recommend the Lexington for its prime location and excellent service, but be aware of this added expense to factor it into your budget.

They said there would be a pool. One employee wven gave us time of day it was open but when we went back to the front desk to try and find it they said there wasnt one. The codes for rhe citibikes didnt work. The mattress was amazing though
- 5/5
Room was great, clean, hotel had a cool vibe, great staff and great bar!
- 5/5
Very good option for midtown area: outstanding location, good service, thoughtful perks for the $35 destination fee.
- 2/5
When we arrived, firstly, we had to leave the luggages and got charged for them, something we never experienced in any hotel before, we thought it was quite weird. Very crowded all the time, so much that it wasn't easy to find a place to sit down and enjoy our breakfast, sometimes there wasn’t even food left (we had to ask for it to be refilled) The room was very small, the heating didn’t work, the window made the room very cold since it was weak, we could feel the air coming in. We got charged for everything! We wouldn’t come back ever again after this experience.
- 5/5
Amazing stay
- 2/5
Staff support was lacking
- 4/5
Loved the location and the hotel is in pretty good shape. Still, we found that the phone didn’t work and the tub got standing water by our second shower. Still an ok place.
- 4/5
Yes and yes. Sheets were stiff.
- 5/5
thank, all excellent
- 5/5
Very friendly front desk staff, great location and hotel was clean and safe.
- 3/5
Checkup was long. Room very small.
- 5/5
Great location, check in and out was easy, cool decor
- 4/5
Excellent location. Great hotel.
- 2/5
not clean enough, mold in the bathroom, dirty sheets, dirty floor/windows, poor maintanance, ac broke, ... $400 a night is insane
- 4/5
Great room. Lobby excellent
- 5/5
Everything stood out at Lexington Hotel , time we came to Hotel. Staff, room, amenities awesome. Special shout out to Sophia our housekeeper. She amazing
- 5/5
Outstanding stay! Great location and friendly staff. We found a cute bar around the corner called the Snafu Bar - great hangout after a long day of sight-seeing! Will stay here again.
- 4/5
the room was clean and friendly staff but extremely small room for 4
- 1/5
All rooms in this hotel are not inspected when people check out for the next guest. I got injured due to the room bathtub being broken and they just offered free breakfast. Rooms were so dirty and staff were rude.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and well-stocked with towels - cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk never answered their phone.
- 4/5
Location is great .. Rooms and hotel are clean .
- 5/5
The room was really clean. However it’s nice when the employees actually take time to walk you through the burrows. I just appreciate the empathy for first timers and like me solo & only person I’ve met his some really great staff & a few jokes with the nice bell man. So thank you- Matt L
- 5/5
Highly recommend coming here. Staff was friendly and located at a nice part of town. The room was small but perfect for going to sleep on clean linen and a clean bathroom. The style of the interior I modern mixed with metro. Breakfast was the best I’ve had. Sausage, fluffy eggs, potatoes and some pastries.
- 3/5
was not advised of $35.00 additional charge per day until after booked this was hidden from me when booking. Staff at hotel provided good service overall
- 5/5
Great location, very clean!
- 5/5
Yes
- 1/5
The noise in the hotel was very high, very poor maintenance. Very bad idea.
- 5/5
Great room. Fun hotel with a lot of history.
- 5/5
This experience was beyond nice. The hospitality, the staff, you had everything near by. Definitely worth to come back
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Hotel was in a great location. As for the room, it’s an old building. Just sleep there.
- 2/5
People at the check in was also not kind.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! The room was clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
I had reservations about arriving having read some of the reviews online. However the queues when we arrived were short. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The hotel is expensive but that’s the same with any NYC hotel. It was surprising to learn that you have to pay to store your bags on the last day if you have a late pick up for the airport. The location though is great and easy to walk to Time Square. Ask for a room on the highest floors and the noise levels are fairly low.
- 2/5
Everything in the room was broken and I had to call to have it fixed everyday and they never came until finally the last day before I was leaving! Very very frustrating!!
- 3/5
Cozy rooms, some quite small, but as a solo traveler I didn’t mind that, I like the character of the hotel overall.Small but significant thing; I really appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower (a rarity) and fairly deep tub.
- 5/5
Clean room. Wonderful breakfast. Great location
- 2/5
Check-in was terrible and the elevators still do not work properly.
- 3/5
We booked a larger room that came with 2 bathrooms which was so convenient. Even though it was a non smoking room to me, it smelled like cigarettes
- 5/5
Clean rooms, staff was helpfull and helped with early checkin en later checkout.
- 3/5
The beds were too soft to our taste, but it might please others. Linen may not have been changed between customers. Good water pressure.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 5/5
We booked our room 3 weeks before, when We arrived they told us that they don’t have the room we booked because hotel was very crowded, We paid for a king bed room and they gave us a queen bed room no fare for us, they said they can give us free breakfast when the breakfast was free after we realized
- 5/5
My only (small) complaint is the heating/thermostat. Room temperature was 68 when I checked in, set thermostat for 74 degrees. By checkout day three days later, room temperature had reached only 70 degrees.
- 1/5
Showing up to a hotel (The Lexington) that you have stayed at many times in the past and finding out that your booking had been canceled - qualifies for one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had. Challenges all around from what should be a premium stay and top of the line customer service. No options given and a continuous blame on Third Party services like Expedia were the reasons given for the simple fact that they were way over-booked. Ironic that I would walk next door to a Marriott Residence Inn and have an amazing stay.
- 5/5
great hotel and staff
- 3/5
Hotel was outdated. Our restroom was not the cleanest either.
- 4/5
Walkable and many attractive spots
- 5/5
This may seem like a minor inconvenience or being petty but my room did not have hair conditioner in the bathroom other than that everything else was fine
- 5/5
Very upbeat but elegant hotel. Great vibe and super -friendly staff.
- 2/5
It was a very crowded room, the bed was cramping the entire space and the television was at an odd angle from the bed. There were no paper towels, shower caps, moisturizer or even a proper hair dryer.
- 5/5
A wonderful experience and close to all locations and public transit as well. Very happy with my stay at the Lexington.
- 5/5
Love the room
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent at the Lexington! We would love to come back.
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable and convenient location
- 2/5
Check in service was horrible and long. Room and bathroom were not very clean
- 5/5
the only thing you have to keep in consideration, is that it’s a very crowded hotel, there’s always people in the lobby and the bar is right there open till 11pm. just in case you travel with little kids or don’t like crowded hotels. also there’s a $35 credit for you to use it since the first day, so take advantage of that, if you don’t use it, they’re going to charge it regardless, and it’s not transferable to the next day. but overall we enjoyed our stay there. rooms are amazing and very clean. staff is really nice as well. and the breakfast buffet is very good too.
- 2/5
Hotel needs a freshening
- 1/5
Nice hotel bad front desk service in misleading info.
- 4/5
Great Hotel, needs a bit of a face lift.
- 2/5
Added a bogus fee of $120 on check-in
- 3/5
I liked the boutique style of this property. They were also able to get me an early check in which was appreciated. I did not like that we did not have access to the patio attached to our room because of facade work. It looked like a very nice space to relax. The washroom also did not have a fan. Finally, the property was very hard to get a hold of pre-trip and post departure. I could only get a hold of them through the Expedia message centre as they would not answer my emails.
- 5/5
One of the highlights of the Lexington is its unique history—the hotel’s ties to Marilyn Monroe and Ella Fitzgerald add charm and character that make it more than just another place to sleep. It’s nice to stay somewhere with a sense of personality and story behind it. For New York, the price felt reasonable, especially given the location and overall presentation. Like many NYC hotels, there is a daily resort fee, which is applied toward on-site spending. We weren’t particularly drawn to use it, but it may be useful for some travelers. The breakfast buffet, while convenient, seemed a bit high at $35 per person, especially considering the abundance of great dining nearby. Overall, the Lexington offers a clean, stylish, and comfortable stay with a touch of history at a fair base price for New York.
- 3/5
The lobby, reception, and bar/restaurant area are nice. The room was Manhattan small, clean enough, but it looks like the windows have not been cleaned in a long time. The big disappointment is the $35 "resort fee" that could be used as a credit at the bar or breakfast. I figured it could cover one drink for two people. Nope, 2 well drinks came to over $50 including auto gratuities included- felt like a scam to trick patrons in to spending more
- 4/5
Really great hotel! Very convenient, clean, and reasonably close to Times Square. CAUTION though!!! Please review your receipt after checkout. They billed me $114 for parking when I didn’t even bring a car. I did not find this out until a week after I checked out when they sent my guest folio. When I called the hotel, it took several 3rd party services to finally reach the hotel and once I finally reached the actual hotel, they hung up me immediately. It took several calls over the course of 3 days, and they hung up on me every time I would call the front desk. I finally had to threaten the hotel with a FTC complaint to finally receive my refund.
- 1/5
I have been staying here for two nights every three months for almost five years. Almost every time they make mistakes on my bill and charge my card a second time after checking out. I will no longer be staying here.
- 3/5
Hotel is in a great location but is dated, beat-up and dirty. There was mold and junk on the shower head and the floors / breakfast are were dirty. They also have a per bag charge to hold your bags. I wouldn’t stay again.
- 5/5
Had a great weekend stay here. Great location, and very nice hotel.
- 3/5
Price too high comparing to other hotels in the area
- 5/5
Great place and accessible to Grand Central station, Time Square and Rockefeller Square highly recommend this property
- 2/5
Weird $35 charge everyday. This is an unexpected expense. Also they never replenish any bathroom supplies.
- 5/5
Very easy to get to downtown, park, 5th ave. Location is great for travelers.
- 5/5
The hotel was super nice and it was walkable distance for many of the landmarks that you want to visit!!
- 3/5
Reception line is ridiculously long. There is one line for check in, for picking up key cards or any issues you want to bring up. Front desk staff is made up of 1-2 people at all times. AND they charge you $3 storage fee per suitcase. Unheard of esp for a Marriott brand
- 5/5
It was a nice stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The lobby was nice; however, the rooms were not the cleanest. But we barely spent time in the hotel, so it wasn't a big deal for us. Overall, the stay was good!
- 5/5
I have stayed at a lot of hotels in my life, but this one was honestly magical. The location of the hotel is the most convenient, walkable incredible location… The rooms are super cute and comfortable… The lobby feels like you’ve slipped back in time. The hotel itself is a vibe.
- 5/5
Great water pressure and nice and hot. No fan in the bathroom though so room got a bit steamy
- 1/5
On top of that, charging a fee per bag to hold luggage felt unreasonable, especially since this should be a complimentary service for guests. I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties before and always felt the quality and service matched the brand’s value. Unfortunately, this location did not meet that standard at all.
- 4/5
The room that we originally had smelled like cigarettes the staff member quickly changed our room and had someone investigate. The hotel is in a great location easy to walk to many destinations and food. The only reason why I didn’t give full stars was because they automatically charge a fee of $121 for things that we didn’t use.
- 5/5
I like this hotel very much! I traveled with my two daughters 12 and 18 and we were able to move around very easily. Safe and quiet
- 5/5
Staff members were very helpful and courteous
- 5/5
A high quality professional lobby and bar made business meet ups possible and comfortable. All the staff are excellent, helpful and courteous from the doorman, concierge, desk staff, wait staff and the Manager.
- 3/5
Just okay. Clean enough. Rooms in average condition. Staff were mostly polite. Convenient location.
- 1/5
This was the worst stay of my life. Summer in NY is already quite hot and the air conditioning wasn’t working. I understand when things break and are out of your control. I do not understand when management continually lies about coming to help over 12 hours, making us wait and thinking that there is going to be a remedy. There were other issues as well, but this was the most egregious. I travel a lot and am a Gold Bonvoy Member, but I will NEVER stay here again. Don’t lie to me.
- 5/5
Great location and hotel for the price.
- 5/5
Beautiful Hotel , and the staff was amazing and very gracious in accommodating early checkin and late checkout requests. Thank you
- 5/5
The staff is great & the hotel is second to none . Being originally from NYC, when I come home I like my whole NYC experience - delis, Central Park, hot dogs & Broadway etc and the Lexington is the best location
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay here, checking in was easy and our room was nice. We were also a couple minutes away from Grand Central so it made traveling a lot easier.
- 5/5
The Hotel was Iconic, the front staff was thin probably due to the holidays.
- 4/5
the property have great members and it's on a great location
- 2/5
Room was hot, elevators took forever, luggage storage was a charge per bag, shower wouldn’t drain
- 5/5
Only one critique…. THE ELEVATORS! Only 3/5 were working and the hotel was booked solid. Morning rides down to the lobby took 25 mins plus
- 5/5
I was clean and and excellent location
- 5/5
Small rooms but in the heart of NY so can’t complain. They give free water as much ever you want and there is a Starbucks right below. Food was okay, but overall stay was very good.
- 1/5
Elevators are a MAJOR safety concern. Multiple instances with elevator not opening and people having to sound emergency alarm
- 4/5
It was noisy at night and the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were empty. There is an 35 daily fee in addition to room rate- was not aware when I booked, Also, tv had a line going through it —-room needs a new tv. Other than that the hotel was great.
- 4/5
But bathroom smells mold
- 4/5
Basically a solidly good stay. Only one room complaint ...the water didn't fully drain in the tub/shower and the phone in the room didn't work to reach the front desk or room service. Otherwise a comfortable bed and lively lobby, bar and breakfast areas. Very nice staff! Picked it for location which is also great. The bonvoy brand is one of my go to's.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel! Service was excellent and the location was perfect. We will 100% stay here next time we visit NYC.
- 4/5
Very decent hotel. Nice stay.
- 3/5
No frigobar, no water…. For a hotel of this tradición, we expected more.
- 3/5
Unnecessary charges
- 4/5
Great location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms very small and hardly any place to put luggage. Would prefer a $35 dollar credit that could be used at the convenience store at the hotel and not only at the bar which ends up costing a lot more than the $35 value. Lifts hardly work, often had to take the stairs up to the room due to the long wait for a lift
- 5/5
Excellent location and close to all major attractions. Very walkable and safe area
- 5/5
The beds were super comfortable especially after a long day on the city! Standard rooms don’t have a small fridge and are a bit small but to be expected for NYC; Starbucks is just off the lobby, Grand Central Terminal is a quick 8 minute walk, lots of great shopping nearby as well. The staff are friendly and the housekeeping team is wonderful and efficient - would stay here again
- 3/5
Staff was excellent— extremely customer focused and friendly. Hotel seems understaffed though, and waiting in line seems excessive. Rooms are comfortable but need upgrades. Mattress and furniture were worn out. Upholstered signed was frayed and sunken in. Facilities need some work. There are multiple elevators that don’t work, and at peak times, it could take 30 minutes to get an elevator. At check in, I was assigned to a room someone else had left dirty. Staff was great in resolving the problem, even upgrading my room, but the slept in bed and tub of filthy bathwater was a real negative.
- 5/5
The beds were so comfortable and the showers had great water pressure. Felt amazing after long days exploring the city!
- 3/5
The lobby is beautiful, the room -main room- was good, the bathroom looked like a refurbished Motel 6 bath, towels were made of sandpaper, no water or snacks in the room, no room service, check-in lady was in a foul mood, the AC started leaking water into the room, the TV had pixels lines (2 at check-in/4 two days later) and ended up making crackling nosies, reported both the AC and TV, they fix the AC, not the TV (did not use it again... afraid it was going to explode), I had to report both in person, because when I called [3 times] no one answered and I was asked to send an email.
- 4/5
Really enjoyed my stay at The Lexington. Found the location very convenient for my trip and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Great service and friendly staff
- 5/5
I have stayed here several times and enjoy the comfort and location.
- 5/5
Everything was great except there were three broken elevators which meant long wait times to use the remaining working elevators.
- 5/5
The hotel was one of the best ones we’ve ever stayed at. Convenient location/excellent service.
- 5/5
The staff was absolutely on top of it friendly warm and kind especially Celeste told me and my wife good places to eat and areas to catch great views of landmarks the location was great and am booking for Christmas time already.
- 4/5
Great hotel in a great area. The only thing stopping a five star review is the price of food and drink in the hotel which was very expensive and overpriced...
- 5/5
Staff was amazing - philpe was great
- 4/5
The
- 4/5
This is a stunning hotel lobby and great amenities! I will say that the sofa bed accommodations were really the only downside for us- that was exceptionally uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was fabulous!
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
Great walking distance to many great spots like rockefeller and grand central station, but away from a lot of the noise and crowdedness. Hotel itself was nice, lobby area updated, rooms a little outdated (a/c didnt work the best, bathrooms were tiny) but still comfortable enough.
- 5/5
Great building and the staff were excellent, but outside the building were many construction projects and other temporary work leading to a lot of noise. In the future, hopefully it clears up.
- 3/5
Staff was not friendly and supportive enough, we did not fell welcomed
- 5/5
This is our 2nd time staying at the Lexington! We had a great experience both times. The only room for improvement necessary is that the elevators are very slow. There are 4 of them but we're not sure they were all running, especially at check out times. Otherwise, great hotel!
- 5/5
Everything
- 3/5
However, the room didn’t have a fridge which is really a hassle! The breakfast was good.
- 4/5
None.
- 1/5
Never staying here again. Our first room had a huge water bubble in the ceiling and looked like it was about to pop. We asked the front desk to look into it and they said they drained it. We checked and there was still water and debris in the ceiling. The shower was also moldy and just felt very unsanitary. We requested another room and they gave us one, no upgrade or anything for the hassle. Several amenities missing in the new room: no tissues and no conditioner. Another thing we had an issue with were the elevators. It takes forever to get downstairs. This stay was a pain and took so much energy and time out of our trip. Never coming back here!
- 4/5
Room was great, older but nice. The staff were so friendly but they were under staffed; long lines to checkin. Bar doesn’t open until 5. You get a food credit but it only covers one breakfast, forcing the other person to spend $40 for standard fare.
- 3/5
Didn’t love this hotel unfortunately. I was very surprised they made you pay for baggage storage. I pre-checked in for my hotel and then they told me my room wasn’t ready when i came back after the check in time? Disappointing. Oh and after I checked out, someone from the company called me about time share opportunities? Very tacky. Not the worst place but I wouldn’t be rushing to book this place again.
- 2/5
We had to leave our bags unable to change before heading to a Broadway show, that we had booked based on hotel check in time. We then discovered the next morning that the wrong card was charged for the room. Based on the already poor customer service we chose not to bring this up. Later that day a rep from the hotel had the nerve to call us and try to sell us more reservations at a later date. When I expressed my frustrations of the day she simply stated that she would write it down. I’ve been to this hotel before and it was great which is why we came back. But never again.
- 5/5
Perfect stay! Will book here again next time.
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
Not a bad stay, but would not choose this hotel again.
- 5/5
Classic great New York property. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Reminds me of old New York.
- 4/5
No mini fridge
- 4/5
It’s a 2 minute walk to central station which is incredibly handy. Walkable to Times Square, restaurants and Central Park. The building is definitely older and could use some cosmetic couch ups. But it was a nice place to stay with our teenagers for a few days.
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
Friendly, clean
- 1/5
The front desk lady that worked on Friday morning around 10 am was very rude. Key card was not working had to keep going back downstairs for a new one. The washroom had pee around the toilet on the floor and i stepped in it. I asked for a kettle and they brought us one with black mold inside
- 5/5
I thought it was easy to get around the city from where the hotel was located.
- 5/5
Bed comfort, walkable area, easy to walk to Midtown NYC
- 4/5
The room was spacious with plenty of options in the area for food and convenience. The bed was comfortable, and it was well maintained and clean. There wasn't an option to ventilate the bathroom when showering, so there was a slight mildew smell that agitated our allergies. We had to go down to the lobby to get new keys three times, since the cards would randomly disable with no warning. The front desk is open 24 hours, so we were able to get the problem fixed relatively quickly and the staff is very friendly. There is a daily fee in addition to the posted stay rate, but you can use the fee as a daily credit for the adjoined restaurant, and there were a bunch of perks included in the stay if you want to maximize your time in Manhattan. Request extra towels in advance if you plan to stay for longer than a quick weekend trip!
- 3/5
AC was very loud, staff who checked us in charged us again for the room fees although it's already been paid when booking the room. And they didn't realize it until we went back to the hotel and discussed with the front desk. Destination fee only convers the breakfast for one person per room. Checking bags before the check-in time was not free.....
- 3/5
Bathrooms were very small, a number of maintenance items need addressing and the food is par at best.
- 4/5
I found the interior design, especially in the lobby and public spaces (especially elevators), ghastly and garish. A sensory overload that overwhelms the beautiful bones of the historic property. Our room was comfortable and the staff professional. I won’t, however, stay at the property again as I prefer a more calm, sophisticated ambiance.
- 5/5
Great place very short walk to Times Square.
- 4/5
Convenient location . Easy access to transportation and good walking distance to 5th Avenue.
