This is a great place. It is an older property, but very well maintained. I don't know about the amenities because I just needed a clean, quiet place to shower and sleep. It was perfect for this and very well located in midtown. The staff was very nice and while my stay was short, it was exactly what I needed. If you want lots of bells and whistles this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for clean, quiet, affordable, and in a good location, you can feel good about booking this hotel.

Wonderful clean hotel, will most definitely stay here again. It is in a great location and it was safe.

We had a great stay at the Fifty Sonesta in June! There were 5 adults and an infant, and we had plenty of space despite all being in a studio suite together. The mini kitchen was a bonus and helpful for washing bottles. The bathroom was clean, and there were plenty of towels. The staff was all very friendly, especially the bellhops! Breakfast was fine. If you're like us, half the fun of New York is the food, so we didn't really plan on eating the breakfast there, but it was nice to be able to take my little one and have some coffee and a snack before everyone else woke up. Super close to the Lexington & 53rd/51st station. We'd definitely stay again!

The staff was excellent. The room was spacious and the location was near everything at walking distance. Compare to other hotels the price was affordable. I like everything, except the kitchen did not have paper towel or napkins to clean when we brought food.

The service team and lobby group were outstanding, definitely coming back The rooms were great!

Staff was friendly but our hotel room was poorly maintained. The shower had mold growing at the top, and the room wasn’t cleaned very well before we arrived — there was literally an old contact lens on the nightstand and stains on the bed when we first arrived. Also, breakfast is not free.
- 4.5/5
The staff was exceptional throughout our stay. Everyone was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location is fantastic, with many attractions within walking distance and plenty of restaurants, cafés, grocery stores, and fast-food options nearby. The room was comfortable, and the hotel offered great value for a stay in Manhattan. We were unable to check in early due to room availability, although the staff handled the situation professionally. Room cleanliness could be improved slightly, especially regarding attention to detail during housekeeping. However, this did not significantly impact our overall experience.

The hotel is in a great location. It is spotless and the staff is so helpful. We will definitely stay here again! Our room was spacious (jr suite). Toiletries very nice.

Location was great and the staff were very kind. Overall, the hotel felt nice and very clean. It was great for a short stay! The bathroom was very small which made it hard when multiple people wanted to get ready for the day.
- 5/5
My stay at this hotel was good. The front lady that helped my boyfriend and I when we first checked in was so nice and so fun to talk too. All the staff was nice and helpful. I will say I'm not sure about amenities because I really didn't stay in the hotel but to sleep. But I do know the breakfast buffet located on the second floor is $40.
- 5/5
Our room was very clean and well maintained. The staff was great, we were checked in quickly, they were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Anything that we needed brought to the room got there quickly and they even helped us find a local bar to hang out at. Would definitely stay here again

Excellent location and besides a reception employee, all staff were very helpful. One reception employee, while i was explaining a problem we had with the A/C,suddenly she stopped, told me that her shift just ended, took her things and left leaving me all alone......

I have stayed at the Fifty Sonesta in Midtown Manhattan twice within the last month, and that alone says how much I love this property. The location is fantastic and close to everything while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. What truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. The front desk team is always welcoming, and the doorman consistently goes above and beyond, whether helping with luggage or offering great recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which can be hard to find in Manhattan. As someone who lives in the suburbs and isn’t used to city noise, I always request a room on a higher floor. The higher floors make a big difference and allow me to enjoy the excitement of New York City while still getting a good night’s sleep. Overall, this has become my go-to hotel whenever I visit Manhattan. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service.

Friendly staff and comfortable room but a lot of noise from elevators, doors slamming, and loud guests in hallways throughout the night.

The main lobby staff was super pretty and very helpful and nice. The only problem I had was the house keeping it was to many times it took up to 30 mins just to bring sheets etc other that that great room it was worth the wait

We stayed here in celebration of our 29th anniversary. The staff made us feel special with the upgrade to a 1 bedroom apartment along with champagne, cookies and a card upon our arrival! Top notch! We will be back!

Staff were very helpful and polite. Location was perfect. The continental breakfast was very disappointing. It was small and the food that was prepared was not fresh. It was not worth paying the extra fee with all of the restaurants within walking distance.

The property is dated from the lobby to the hallways. I would say this is more of a 3 star property trying to be a 4 star. I arrived at 3:20 and had to wait for my room at 4pm. I was pleasantly surprised that I was upgraded and it was a nice large corner room. The room itself was ok however the banging downstairs on the street was terrible. They are doing some kind of construction and throwing steel scraps in a dumpster at 5am. Even though I was on the 9th floor the noise was unbelievable. Luckily I was only there one night. On a positive note the doorman Romeo was wonderful. Such a great personality and a real gem.
- 5/5
Large comfortable rooms. The kitchenette was very nice to have
- 4/5
Front desk staff very professional. However, often understaffed so line formed for check-in. Overall experience was excellent. Excellent location near subways and buses.
- 3/5
We found a big cockroach in our room and asked our room to be changed. When they gave us the keys to the new room, that room was occupied by a person who was thankfully sleeping and did not hear us come in. A security breach in al sense. After that they did give us a better room that was clean and unoccupied.
- 3.5/5
Romeo!! And huge rooms. Great location. Some staff were very unfriendly and uninformed. Provided misinformation. Confusion over booking.
- 1/5
There was roaches. The lights didn’t work and the bathroom handle kept coming off. I was told there was nothing they could do. It was disgusting for almost $400 for one night

This hotel worked well for us and was a better value than other hotels during a very busy graduation/wedding/events time of the year. We were disappointed by two things: there is no coffee to be had in the lobby—not even to buy—unless one buys a $20 continental breakfast. Having to leave the hotel to get decent coffee in the morning was unfortunate. Also, Expedia claims that the total price you pay to them is for a stay that is paid in full. But when checking out we were told that was yet one more separate fee—a surprise— that was $89 for two nights. I don’t know whether I should blame Expedia or the hotel or both. But that was a bad surprise.

Amazing and large bed, large room, clean, friendly staff. Great value for money. Will definitely be back and recommend. Breakfast could really be upgraded, but it was decent and convenient to have included. Would not consider it continental breakfast and definitely would not have sufficed for a daily preference.

The room was big for New York, the bed was convienent, the location is perfect, subway 2 minutes walk away, central park 10 minutes walk. The kitchen is useless, most of the basic kitchenware a European would expect is missing (not even a good knife was provided, the pan was low quality, no baking tray...). You cannot open the window, and there is no hood or extractor fan, so if you cook once, then all the smells remain for the rest of the stay and also for the next guest. No normal table and chairs for eating, we had to sit on the sofa and use the coffee table. It was spring, but the heating system was still unable to make normal temperature.

The room was unexpectedly large, very comfortable, and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, making sure all of our belongings made it to our room and greeting us every time we entered or exited the building. I also loved that the hotel was centrally located near most of the major attractions, so we didn’t have to travel far to see many of the main sites. N/A

The hotel was very nice, the room was modern and clean. The shower faucet was loose and would actually come off if you pulled on it but it functioned fine. Exercise room had lots of weights and machines. The doormen were super friendly and welcoming. My advice is to request a room with a view, otherwise you might get the room we got which had a view of a brick wall and mechanicals. on the other hand, maybe you would want that room if you wanted more privacy.😆
- 4/5
I stayed for a week. The room with a kitchen was very convenient. Amenities were replenished whenever I asked, the staff at the entrance always greeted me and smartly opened the door for me, and the staff at the laundry in the basement were very kind. There are many convenience stores, cafes, and restaurants nearby, so it's very convenient. I will definitely stay here again next time.

I stayed April 30 - May 4. On the third night was cold, it was 69 degrees in my room. I called the receptionist to ask about the heat. They said now it’s spring the heat is off. They offered the blanket instead. On the fourth and last night outside was below 50, and in my room was 68 and still no heat😡. I had seen snow in April!!!

We were on the avenue side and that is VERY LOUD. The fitness room at 7:30 am was a mess! The cup holder on the treadmill had hair and junk in it. It hadn’t been washed in a while…days? There were weights all over the floor and no towels. Not one towel. All of the disinfectant wipes were gone. I called housekeeping and a man came in and proceeded to fold the towels at the counter while I was working out, by myself. Briefly. I thought he would leave. He didn’t. So I left. It was uncomfortable to say the least. There was one person at the desk that was unprofessional, but the other staff was well trained. They moved us to an inner room. That was better. Quieter. There was a proper bathroom. Still no fan. A brick wall for a view. I’ve stayed in better places.

Nice hotel, great location. Room was too hot though. For some reason the building is a set temp at 66 but it felt more like 70. Their solution was to bring a fan in which helped only a little. Room could have been cleaner.

Overall, my experience was good! The shower drain took over 5 minutes to drain out so I was left standing in water before getting out of the shower. The AC/heat unit appeared to be set on heat and could not adjust it so had to open the window for cool air.

We immediately requested to cancel our reservation, less than 20 minutes after check-in, yet we are still waiting to be reimbursed. The lack of urgency and accountability is extremely frustrating. Thankfully, we were able to find a last-minute alternative at The Kimberley Hotel, and the difference was night and day. They were outstanding in every way. We highly recommend staying there instead.

- 4/5
The location of this hotel was fabulous. Near Rockefeller center, Central Park, and grand central. Good subway access to the rest of Manhattan. The staff was very helpful in navigating the subway and with recommendations on places to see. Romeo at the front door specifically was so great.
- 4/5
I love having a room with no carpet but it always makes it obvious when it isn’t fully clean. The floors were very dusty and my white socks were black on the bottom FAST. I expect it to be spotless given that when I requested a possible early check in(at 2 instead of 4) I’m told that because it’s a suite and the crew is still hard at work cleaning it. That’s my only complaint and everything else was wonderful.
- 4/5
The hotel is great either way very respectful staff and the location is very good near all attractions The breakfast is very poor

The location was fantastic. The service was excellent. Any issues we had with the room were handled quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive to all our needs. I had no problems with the hotel. For a hotel in Manhatten, I feel like we got a great room for a fair price!
- 3/5
Overall the room was ok and comfortable. The hotel is situated in the heart of Manhattan and the staff is very nice and gentle. In 5 min walking you reach Central Station, 10 min the amazing Briant Park and 15 min Time Square. The metro station is just 100 meters far. The Breakfast was very bad quality. My suggestion is to put more effort or to not offer it at all! All cheap products and no tasty at all. Another think it was a bit hard to understand especially for us coming from Europe are the paper cups for the coffee in the room. What does it cost to have proper cups so guest can taste better coffee? The hotel is not cheap at all, for the price paid a good breakfast and proper cups and glasses in the room is the minimum
- 4/5
Perfect location in the heart of New York near all attractions and the subway The taxes are too much and the breakfast is limited
- 4/5
Cleanliness of major living room Bathroom could have been cleaner with no dirty surfaces. Intake was a bit awkward but resolved by a lovely gentleman who acknowledged our upgrade, after being dismissed. Our stay was through the 9th, 3 nights. My companion had trouble checking in although name was on reservation. This was the late evening staff after 10 pm; I’d checked in before 7 and even called the hotel to verify the reservation, told was unnecessary.

Some rooms need to be cleaned better. Some have lot’s of dust and bathrooms are not all that clean upper lever rooms are in better condition and have wooden floors which allow for a cleaner enviroment.

The Fifty Sonesta was a terrific hotel in a great location, not too far from Rockefeller Center and easily accessible to the subway. The deluxe king room we stayed in, was quite large and had a couch and sitting area, which made it even roomier. Front desk people were very accommodating and let us check in early and the cleaning people and doorman were very cheery and quite helpful. All in all, a great place to stay, especially if you can get a deal like the one that appeared five or six days before our stay on Hotels.com website.

We were warmly welcomed from the moment we entered the hotel. Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located, yet off the beaten path just enough that it's not too loud for when you're ready to rest. We would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Staff was amazingly kind and responsive. Room was a bit larger than at many hotels. Bed was comfortable, pillows a bit floppy, easy chair comfortable, desk chair rocks a bit. Ask for a view. We faced a brick wall. Location is terrific.

They do a great job with their pictures. Hotel looks nothing like the pictures. Only helpful staff member is the one man who takes your bags and greets you when you walk in. They aren’t accommodating at all and they like to over charge on the snacks and water they sell.

My one complaint, which is perhaps my own fault in not being careful enough when booking, is that the price shown initially as the nightly rate on hotels.com was quite different than the end price, once all the taxes and fees were added on. Especially surprising was the $40/day fee that was due at the property. We probably wouldn't have booked this property had we known how much it cost us in the end.

The room was nice but it was extremely loud all night - the doors slammed frequently and there was a garbage truck across the street for an hour having dumpsters emptied. Sounded like it was in my room.

There was an additional $40+ dollar charge every night for wi-fi, $10 gift for goods purchased there, and something else... a complete rip off and which was never mentioned in the booking. Then, less of an issue but so annoying... there are no USB ports in the room I had to charge anything, which is doubly annoying for non-American visitors as American plug sockets tend to not be secure. And finally the AC in my room was hitting 89dB when running, that's like having a lawn mower in the room. Sleep was not my friend. It is a great hotel apart from that, and hopefully they will fix these things in the future. But I probably won't stay there again as for an extra $40 a night I can stay somewhere with quiet AC and USB ports.

Clean and spacious room. Great staff all around.
- 3/5
The hotel was nice, staff was friendly, and the room was overall adequate for the price. It was also in walking distance from everything so that made it convenient. However, it’s near a fire station and a police station (I wasn’t aware when I booked this) and it is fairly noisy throughout the night and day with sirens/alarms. We also found a cockroach in our room (alive) and did not get our room cleaned on our 3rd day. Overall, wasn’t a horrible stay but not somewhere we would return.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly it was a constant no matter who you spoke to. The rooms were comfortable and felt well kept. We had tickets at Radio City and everything was in an easy walking distance of less than a mile for Radio City and our dinner.

- 4/5
Staff was super helpful! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because there were plumbing problems with our tub and toilet. Otherwise, everything was clean, comfortable and plenty of space for our family of 5. The sofa bed was surprisingly very comfortable! Also loved that we were able to store our bags at the hotel on the day we checked out!

I love the Sonesta hotels and this one is no exception. The hotel is very clean and updated and the staff make you feel so welcome. The location on 3rd is extremely convenient to all things midtown and the subway. You won’t regret booking here!

Clean room.
- 3/5
Our room was spacious. The concierge was a hit or miss and desk staff seemed friendly enough during check-in. We did have issues with the heat in our room. We had the thermostat set on 70° and every 30 minutes or so the temperature would rise to above 80°, so we would have to get up numerous times at night and turn off, let it cool down and turn back on. This was reported to front desk many times throughout our stay and it was never addressed.
- 5/5
Room was clean and location was perfect for E subway from JFK (via the Airtrain). Perfect location for sight seeing (1 mile to Central Park/Grand Central and close to Rockefeller/St Patricks Cathedral/5th Avenue) Staff were friendly. No restaurant in the hotel but plenty of food outlets /restaurants within 100 yards (Theres a McDonalds and a Subway in same block and Starbucks etc within a minutes walk). Doorman and concierge were very helpful. The hotel did take a $300 dollar resort tax as expected on arrival but you can get $10 of snacks/drinks from the lobby each day (at $6 for a drink etc it doesnt go far though!).
- 5/5
All the staff are kind and nice.

We had another wonderful stay & will continue to come back to this hotel. Stayed overnight to see the tree and stores on 5th Ave. the 50 sonesta is in a perfect walkable distance to so much. The staff is amazing from greeting you at the front door, check in, helpful with directions/suggestions and the room was immaculate & spacious. Every time I stay here I have a great visit and feel extremely safe. Thank you again

50 Sonesta was a perfect place for our holiday trip to NYC. Close to all the spots of importance. We were amazed at the size of the room and the comfort afforded us during our stay. Having coffee and juice in our kitchenette was perfect. I usually choose their sister property in the 30s but this was special. People were great at check in as were the door staff.

Staff was very courteous. Our 2 bed was nice and spacious for an NYC hotel.
- 5/5
The staff was kind and friendly. Parking was a breeze, the location of the hotel is an easy walk to many main areas of the city. The rooms were clean and had helpful accommodations in the kitchen. Within the junior apartment there was a microwave, sink, fridge, plates, cups, utensils, coffee machine, saucepan, toaster, and a two burner gas stove. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will gladly return.

The location is great however our room faced the street that meant we heard every siren, every horn, every car engine all night long. Our mattress was horrible, sank in the middle and felt every coil on our back. When we asked for a different mattress we were told there weren’t any available yet they said we could pack all of our stuff up and switch rooms. How they couldn’t switch mattresses with an empty room is beyond me. Also we were told we had a $10 credit to use at a snack station adjacent to the front desk. That would’ve been nice if there were actually snacks…all that was there were a couple of pretzels bags and a bag of Doritos and a Red Bull. It’s not like we got those $10 back yet there was nothing to use those $10 on. I would’ve expressed my opinion of the room at checkout however the person at the front desk didn’t even look at us or ask us about our stay. Just printed our receipt and not even a goodbye. Would NOT stay here again.

The hotel has not been updated in the past couple of years. Could use a “facelift” But I’ll definitely stay here again if needed to stay in the area

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It was very clean, spacious, great location, and perfect for our family. We’ve stayed at other hotel in NYC and this one is by far our favorite. We will definitely use this hotel the next time we are in the city.

- 5/5
The room was great: very clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. We loved all amenities and the location of this hotel.
- 2/5
That garage was one scam after another. Coming up with extra fees, not respecting pre paid fees, forcing to leave before agreed time, threatrning to tow the car. Hotel refused to help out with anything.
- 5/5
Very friendly front desk Team. Easy checkin process.
- 1/5
The a/c was not working and the room never changed because they were “full”. The lack of area mats made the floors terribly slippery and my son fell and hit his head with the night stand. I wasn’t offered an icepack or any first aid assistance and my child still had a headache a full day later. The price was too high for a room with no windows, dirty venting, ripped walls and broken headboard.
- 5/5
Staff very polite and attentive. The room was great, very spacious, modern and spotless
- 5/5
Clean and wonderful location

Staff was awesome - pleasant and welcoming. Room was clean and ready. Very pleased with this location after multiple stays.

- 5/5
Very and comfy practical hotel in a great location.
- 5/5
Muy bueno
- 3/5
AC is not operational. Some electrical outlets did not work. Asked for a shower cap, it arrived two hours later.
- 4/5
Room was clean and location was great. Two reasons I cannot give this resort a 5 star rating but really wish I could… the beds and pillows weren’t the most comfortable. And the road noise was loud at night. A police and fire substation is one street down so you can hear the sirens and horns from the street. I’ve stayed at hotels with sound proof glass. The service desk and doorman were amazing! And I would recommend this hotel, just note the noise if you a light sleeper.
- 5/5
Our room was spacious and well appointed. Housekeeping left it impeccably clean every day. Actually the staff makes the hotel feel five star. From front desk to door men to housekeeping you couldn’t ask for more friendly and efficient people, even at its busiest.

This hotel was very loud to stay at, compared to other hotels in midtown all night long i heard sirens and box trucks from the 8th floor.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and large sized room. Excellent location - we walked to so much.
- 5/5
My first time staying in NYC, definitely will stay at this hotel next time I visit. Staff were nice and supportive!
- 3/5
I expected New York City to be expensive, but I really expected for the price per night the rooms and bathrooms would be a little better quality and cleaner. It felt more like a motel.
- 4/5
This hotel was clean with spacious rooms. My room view was a brick wall, however this turned out to be an advantage as there was no street noise at night. I was able to walk to all the popular places I wanted to visit (Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, ect). Overall, a 3-4 star hotel…nothing fancy but clean with pleasant staff.
- 5/5
Second time staying here for the us open (2023/2025). The staff was great specially Romeo. What a great guy. Always taking care of us.
- 5/5
Thank you for everything would definitely stay here again!

very all instalations, Lobby very simple, rooms are ok but the bathroom old and not working
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Sonesta. The staff was amazing and treated us very well. The manager Randy, Romeo and the employees there couldn’t have been more kind and helpful to my family and made our first time to New York City so incredibly special. What a special room and so many great recommendations from the crew over there. Breakfast was great and the location was central to everything. Nice part of town. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great for families! Thank you Sonesta staff
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our suite on the 21st floor. It had terrific views, great facilities and was really quiet.
- 3/5
We did not have conditioner virtually the whole time we were there, until the very last day when we asked, but being in our room 3x and never putting any conditioner in the empty bottle shows lack of attention. The TV had a Chromecast but again, we had the engineer in and it seemed the internet was not strong enough to use it, it kept erroring. So no streaming to the TV for us. And lastly the internet. Wasn't great. Location was great. Kitchen was handy. Beds were comfy. Overall, for the price an average stay.
- 5/5
It was enjoyable but too many added fees.
- 5/5
Everyone was wonderful as usual. The location is perfect. I will be staying here again.
- 2/5
Terrible experience with logistics. Got charged around $1800 for the security deposit which was supposed to be $200. And, the staff, kept saying I just wave to wait for the refund even though it was their mistake. Will never go there again me or my coworkers. Never again.

Our floor in the room was broken. We could have hurt our feet pretty badly. Closet doors were brocken and tv didn’t work either. Cleaning service was good and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel near many conveniences. We got upgraded and had incredible views.
- 5/5
The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable!! Very spacious room and perfect location.
- 5/5
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The junior apartment with terrace was spacious, with modern furniture, fixtures and appliances. The view from terrace at night is spectacular! We only stayed 1 night. We will definitely be repeat customers.
- 5/5
Hotel with decent rates and good location
- 3/5
The hotel is well located, the staff is GREAT. Now, the rooms need an URGENT renovation, everything is old and beat down, the bathroom is the worst. Management needs to renovate urgently!!!
- 4/5
After complaining twice, our refrigerator didn’t get repaired and we reported it two times. It was leaking water everywhere. It was never repaired.
- 5/5
Lovely property. Great location. Upgraded us to a corner suite with kitchen and terrace- beautiful!

Very good hotel. Renovated, clean, and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
The hotel was a distance from Times Square but was walkable to most locations. The staff were extremely friendly. The room was a nice size and comfortably fit the 5 of us. The only issue was that the sofa bed was a bit creaky!
- 5/5
Loved this property! Nice and spacious, very clean and close to Rockefeller center.
- 5/5
Property was amazing! We booked last minute, due to our other hotel having "issues", they were so accommodating and the best decision we made! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The views of NYC were breathtaking, and we were in walking distance to many attractions.
- 5/5
Close to everything you want to see as a tourist. Also underground station close. We arrived in Washington by Amtrak Staff super friendly and very helpful
- 4/5
Breakfast is best outside of the hotel. Lobby is usually very busy.

We had the junior suite for our family of 5 and it was perfect. Huge room, no sound at all from other rooms or the street, extremely comfy beds.
- 5/5
Book this hotel! You will not be disappointed! We stayed here and could not stop talking about our amazing experience! Meeting Romeo at our car to getting excellent customer service from the manager… we were not disappointed. This hotel feels like you are staying at the Ritz Carlton with customer service. The room was super spacious and came with a kitchenette. The location was perfect! Fast walk to the subway and many great restaurants within a 5 minute walk. If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. Excellent!!
- 5/5
Excellent room for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens). Very big room for New York. Location was perfect for getting about. No complaints. Thanks for a great stay 👍

Such a great location and plenty spacious for our family of 5 (3 kids, 2 adults). Romeo (bellman) was amazing! He was incredibly friendly and welcomed us so warmly when we got there.

- 2/5
Great location. However, extremely noisy. We stayed on 3rd floor facing front of hotel for our last night in NY with the family. We had stayed just 2 blocks over for the previous 5 nights with NO issues. For this spot, I couldn't sleep until 3 am. Garbage trucks at 12am - 2am?? The trucks would stay at the spot with engines on for 20 minutes at a time. You could hear everything. granted this is NYC, however, we stayed just 2 blocks away at a Mariott Residence inn and didn't hear a single noise in the middle of the night. One of the female front desk staff was extremely rude. Others were kind.
- 5/5
An excellent location in NYC within walking distance of places such as Central Park and Rockefeller. It is also very near the subway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 5 of us staying in a suite and with the fold out bed and put up bed there was still plenty of space! The kitchen has two fridges and was very useful. The balcony gave us extra space and it was great to sit out early morning and late evening. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to New York City.

Another fabulous stay at the Fifty Hotel. The staff are lovely, efficient and very welcoming. The rooms are of an excellent standard. Great amenities all round. Will always be our no.1 hotel in New York.

Good hotel- room, service, convenient- overall!!
- 5/5
Absolutely love this hotel. Value for money. Spacious and clean and walkable to popular tourist spots. Would recommend it to anyone.

First, the room they gave us smells like urine. But when we complain they changed the room. Also, charge $40+ additional charge which I was unaware of
- 5/5
For price is wonderful! People are really nice

Staff were nice. Very well equipped room. There's even self laundry available which is great for family trip.

The Staff a friendly in a genuine way. The location is great and our room had everything we needed.

Property is located in a good area. Many food options within a short walking distance and close to the subway. My biggest complaint is the noise level. We were on the 9th floor for 5 nights. Felt like we were sleeping on the street. We had a noise machine on high and the ac on constant flow and still didn’t drown out the noise. Garbage trucks passing at 1am and fire trucks and police sirens, we heard it all. I picked this property bc it was in Midcity and it had double queen beds to accommodate my family of 4. I wouldn’t stay here again bc of the noise.

Friendly staff, good size std rooms, good location to explore Manhattan

Rooms were nice size for New York! Wish there was a bar in the hotel but there are plenty of nearby options. Staff was nice.
- 5/5
Our stay was phenomenal. The hotel is in a very nice area, with everything you need nearby, and the atmosphere is peaceful, not the hustle and bustle of tourists in the city center. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. This will definitely be my hotel to return to in NYC. They offer breakfast and have a gym too.

The hotel was in a good location. Our stay was for 9 nights. Kitchenette was ver handy. Bathroom very small. Staff for the most part were very helpful and friendly. Street noise was very loud, we were in the 9th floor facing the street. But I guess considering where we were this is to be expected

Most memorable hotel experience ever! We were upgraded to a spectacular room without asking, the staff was incredibly kind, it really exceeded every expectation. My tween girls will talk about this stay for years to come, you have no idea how special this was Fifty Sonesta, thank you!

Great price with great location. Two queen bed rooms were perfect for our stay. As for the little things....Lots of storage space for clothes. Liked the two full length mirrors and drawer under bathroom sink for storying toiletries.

Roomy. Good location. Friendly staff

The hotel was just okay. I have had better stays in the city. The first room was uncomfortably hot and the toilet kept running at random. The tv remote took extra strength and aim to work. The woman at the front desk was unhelpful. They did move our room the next night so that we had working air conditioning but the shower smelled of mildew. Not many options in the sundry. The bellhop was very nice. Rooms were spacious and accommodated our family of six comfortably.

Not a 4 star hotel. Room was fine. Issues with lack of heating during a cold snap. Was promised a heater 3 times and even got some blankets. Would've picked somewhere else had I know it was lacking in various areas

Only here for one night but room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was just a few minutes from Rockefeller Center.

We have just come back from a 5 night stay, i was anxious as the reviews weren't good. But i had nothing to worry about as soon as i walked in every member of staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. We stayed in a junior suite which was lovely and spacious and clean, the beds are wonderful and soft. I would differently recommend this hotel.

Great spot will book again room 2001

The location was great but the hotel rooms were not the best. The first room had a pipe leak in the bathroom sink so we had to be moved to another room after the hotel could not fix the leak. The second room was an upgrade however it looked like they did not do a great job with cleaning it. There was still hair in the tub. The rooms were spacious and the location was great, but the rooms were run down. There was not ventilation in the bathroom so expect everything to be moist in there.

Bit dated hotel needs renovations

Clean room, nice location and friendly staff. If you parking over night, the valet is best option to go. Nearby garages charge 60-70$ and valet price was not too off from that. However the convenience was priceless.

The room was very dated had a musty smell We were on the fifth floor For the amount we paid the room could have been better I have lived in NYC and I visit there often and have stayed in many different hotels so I know I am not going to complain about the size or view ever but the room we were in was subpar The location was good The lobby restroom reached with a flight of stairs was without toilet paper and only one was functional with a line to go there The staff at the front desk the three days we were there were indiifferent uninterested and always seemed like they did not care

This stay was amazing. The entire staff was great, especially Romeo, the concierge. The hotel was clean, smelled great - quiet and was exactly as listed. Will definitely stay here again.

This place was absolutely wonderful. Check in was easy, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Romeo, the concierge was wonderful and needs to be commended for his genuine care for the guests. The rooms were spotless clean, and we were greeted as we came and went every time. The hotel was exactly as listed. Great location. Felt safe. Would definitely stay again.

It was fine and as expected. The check in was efficient. The room was spacious and bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was small and hard to regulate the temperature. Decor a little tired.
