Great midtown location. Room was spacious for Manhattan and clean, but my balcony was so small it was almost unusable. Lobby is also tiny so it's not ideal with more than a couple of guests at the same time.

This Hotel was awesome. My husband and I visited New York for our Anniversary. It rained the entire trip but the hotel provided umbrellas for us daily. The Onsite Italian restaurant made it easy for us to plan our dinner without actually leaving the hotel. Rooftop bar awesome as well. Staff exceptional. Close to Times Square, New Central train station and other attractions.

Location only We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The location is excellent — the metro is nearby, and most of the main attractions are within walking distance. Unfortunately, this was probably the only advantage of this hotel. The hotel claims to be a four-star hotel, but it definitely does not meet four-star standards. We booked an upgraded room with a corner balcony, but honestly, we would have been better off booking a standard room and saving money. The windows faced the inner courtyard directly into other windows, so it felt like “window-to-window” with no privacy at all — terrible. There were two of us staying in the room, but only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers were provided. The floor in the room was extremely dirty. The only drinks provided were two bottles of water, and even those were not complimentary. The reception staff were very unfriendly — they would continue their personal conversations while guests were waiting in line instead of helping them. The hotel was also incredibly noisy. Doors were constantly slamming, and the noise was so strong that the bed would literally shake from it. I do not recommend this hotel at all. We left with a very negative impression.

Beautiful rooms. Look recently renovated. Everything looks brand new. HVAC is so loud I turned it off to sleep. Street noise is so loud it sounds like the windows are open.

The staff was very accommodating, letting us store luggage almost 8 hours early before our check in time at 4 pm. They also had the room ready for us at 2pm. The room had heated bathroom floors,and an incredible view from the private balcony. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

Incredible time at the Bernic! Andres was wonderful, let us check in 6 hours early!!!!!! I had an important meeting so I was sooooo thankful I had a place to get ready! Every staff member I came across was so kind, room was great comfy robe slippers, espresso, beekman amenities and a great balcony. Overall could not recommend this place more! There’s also a fun little Japanese market right next door that I had fun exploring

Also, there is construction going on in the building across the street with ocassional noise.

Great Price for the room, clean room, felt like the room needed a fresh coat of paint, paint is chipping off the wall and door frames. Room was comfortable, the sheets were very thin and very starchy not soft and no real comforter , the windows and doors do not feel sealed so a lot of outside noise comes through, but it was a perfect room for the price range and location was good enough. Not very close to a subway but that is on us. Would stay again.

The block is under heavy construction and the windows in the rooms are very thin. With construction deliveries and road noise though the night, it's really hard to sleep if you have a street-facing room. I would not recommend staying there until after the high rise across the street is completed.

Great little hotel in Midtown East, close to Grand Central and away from the throngs in Times Square and Theater District. Did not get to use the rooftop bar (too cold) but room was very clean, orderly, bed was comfy, shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Pro tip: It's tempting to get a street facing room, as many have balconies, but I would recommend something on the back side--much quieter. NYC is noisy even in the middle of the night.

The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully set up. The bed was extremely comfortable, and everything smelled fresh and clean. I also loved how quiet it was — I was able to truly relax and unwind. The location was perfect and convenient to everything I needed. Housekeeping stayed on top of everything, and any questions I had were handled quickly and kindly. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a peaceful atmosphere. I’ll absolutely be back!

We love the location, close to where we needed to be. There is a coffee shop nearby as well as food. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel that has excellent ratings. This is our go to place when we are in the city. The rooms are of a great size for the city. The staff was also excellent, as we were double-booked somehow and they helped refund d that room's stay. everything was great

The Bernic was cute, albeit a bit hard to locate. Unfortunately the shower in our room was broken, which we did not realize until the morning, about 2 hours before check out. My fiancé and I were getting ready for our engagement photos that morning, so we were in a bit of a rush. The hotel staff said they would “look into it” after we left. Not super helpful, I feel the one night stay was far too expensive to not have access to basic amenities. For this reason, I would not recommend The Bernic.

This was a clean and quaint property! The room was spacious and the balcony that came with it was a nice feature. There are no amenities and there’s no lounge space aside from the rooftop and restaurant so keep this in mind in case you arrive a bit early for check in, as you may need to go elsewhere in the meantime.

Hotel was horrible, dingy. AC didn’t work, they couldn’t fix, they couldn’t change me to another room, there was no manager on site to help me. I changed to another hotel in middle of night. Waste of money. Would have liked to be reimbursed but they said I already paid through Hotels.com so that was not possible either. Will never stay at Bernic Hotel again nor will I travel through Hotels.com again.

I love this great little hotel! Modern, clean, compact (small number of guest rooms); coffee in the room; easily accessible to Grand Central and Midtown. Great place to stay for a quick business trip. Staff is always helpful.

ALL the staff were excellent. That was the best thing about this stay. King corner balcony rooms view was facing an apartment full of air conditioning units and the back of two other masonry buildings. The balcony view was awful and not worth it.

The location was perfect as Grand Central is only a few minutes walk away. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Everything was immaculate. I definitely will be coming back in the future.

It was a nice hotel as part of the Hilton collection. The service could’ve been better. No follow up after check in. While checking in no information provided for the room, details about food or things to do in the city.

The only gripe is that there was a significant white noise of a huge fan from the back of the building. But i would stay here again.

It was a good overall stay

Staff was so sweet. However. My toilet was broke. Sink drained slow and my AC unit did not cook the room. They supplied me with a fan. They instantly fixed the toilet when asked. The covers when reflected in the light had lots of stains. But I really loved the staff.

Loved the hotel itself however pay close attention to your credit card statement. They charged me an extra $50 after I had checked out and couldn’t explain why when I called to inquire about it. I got it refunded only because I checked.

Can you say disappointment? Waste of money? Balcony corner rooms are a ripoff, no furniture, no view, and a “balcony” room on the second floor that over looks the first floor roof?????? Seriously? Who makes balconies on a 2nd floor?? The “balcony” was side by side touching the neighbors balcony with short walls between us — ZERO privacy whatsoever. Couldn’t even go on the patio open to the public because it closes early despite calling hotel in advance and asking for the hours. They didn’t even have a stocked mini bar set up in the room’s fridge…… “4 star hotel” where? Customer service / experience just was NOT a priority in the making of this hotel. Prude staff. VERY basic room. Just use your money to get better value elsewhere. I would never ever stay again, you couldn’t pay me!

Had a great and quiet stay here. It’s tucked away on a quiet street in a central area. No issues with noise, the bedding is very soft and comfy and the place looked and smelled clean I felt very comfortable. Would stay again on a higher floor hopefully

I liked that this is a smaller hotel and it's close to restaurants, coffee shops, etc. and you can walk to Times Square in about 15-20 minutes. You do have to walk a few blocks to get to the train station (either Grand Central at 42nd or the one on 51st street), as there isn't anything super close. It was very quiet and I didn't have any issues at all. I would've liked for the pillows to be softer, but overall I had a good experience here.

Great front desk service at the Bernic and the room was large and clean, even had a balcony to let in fresh air.

I stayed here while in town for the half marathon, and it was a great choice. The room was clean and comfortable, with a super cozy bed that was perfect after race day. The location was ideal—walkable to restaurants, shops, and other key spots, which made everything super convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

People are very nice! Everything was good! The only thing: the air-conditioner was very noisy! Otherwise all fine.

• The room and bed were very comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. • The shower was amazing, with great water pressure, soft towels, and an overall excellent experience. • Service was outstanding—the reception staff were incredibly professional and polite, truly making a difference. • Small but thoughtful touches, like free fruits at reception and high-quality coffee that was regularly topped up, were much appreciated. Cons: • The noise levels were quite disruptive due to ongoing construction outside. This included heavy drilling throughout the day on Friday (until around 5–5:30 PM), as well as loud construction and metal loading/unloading at 4 AM on Saturday night. The windows were not soundproof, which made it even more noticeable. • Lift issues—one of the elevators was out of service, which resulted in long waits. To make it worse, handymen and construction workers were also using the only working lift, making the situation even more frustrating. Despite the noise and lift inconvenience, I would still stay here again due to the exceptional service, comfort, and thoughtful amenities. However, guests should be aware of potential disruptions if construction is still ongoing.

I was satisfied with my stay.. The location was great. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I felt safe during my stay. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. I feel like the experience was worth the cost of the hotel.

Check in was easy. The room was very nice. Bed was very comfortable and when asked for extra pillows, the front desk was very accommodating. Loved the extra large shower and the heated floors in the bathroom. The restaurant was fantastic! I would come to New York again just to go there! would stay again.

Thermostat was broken in the room and couldn't get heat down. The bed was a double, not a queen or king. Bathroom was nice and the heated floors in the bathroom was a nice touch.

The property only has rooms , the one I chose with balcony overlooked the inside of the buildings so it was in front of other residential buildings . I found the prices high just to sleep. The staff is small the first day they didn't manage to clean the room but they did bring clean towels at 7 pm. The room coffee is included and is excellent.

Loved the stay, will be back next time i visit New York. The heated bathroom floors were amazing, very clean and friendly staff.

The property is right smack in the mix of a renovation project across the street-Because of the INCREDIBLY loud noise and trucks backing up with their charming alarms was lucky to get 3 hours of sl;eep-If you actually want to sleep find a better located hotel.

Great staff. Clean. However, I can’t believe I got the only row of rooms without a desk. Bummer to work in bed.

I love how it’s tucked away on a quiet block. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We had the exact view from the photos which was exactly what I wanted. I will definitely stay here when I’m in New York again.

I initially chose this property after reading favorable reviews. The location was optimal for us, the room was definitely clean, we slept comfortably, and we were near all sorts of creature comforts 😊. I would definitely return to this property if in need of an overnight stay.

Location was perfect for our stay which required a close proximity to medical hospitals. The staff here go over the top to help you! Space was clean, bed was wonderful and quiet! You won't be sorry you stayed! We found ample wonderful places to have dinner and drinks!

The room was large, clean and cool. Rather than on-site facilities, they have partnerships with an excellent gym only 80m down the street, and a neighbouring restaurant. Staff were very responsive and helpful.
