All staff members were exceptionally nice and helpful. They were quick to apologize for issues. The first morning we woke up to a 77 deg room because the AC was broken. They said normally they check that before we check in but "forgot" in this case. The second morning there was loud banging for 40 minutes starting at 7 am as they worked on a repair in a nearby room. Both days we really wanted to sleep in and relax but were unable to do so. I also informed the property that this was my engagement weekend with the hopes they would do something special, even a simple "congratulations" upon check in but nothing happened.

Wonderful stay at The Beekman and exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly accommodating with my request for a room with a specific view and the room itself was clean and incredibly unique and eclectic. The bed was lovely, breakfast was scrumptious, and overall I loved my stay here and will certainly be back.

Really my only improvement would be the food during breakfast, the option are really limited and the taste was not great.

It’s centrally located, great service and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and the gym is great. Complementary coffee in the mornings. Everything was great. It would be great to have a kettle or a coffee maker in the rooms though..

The room was incredibly clean and the staff was very kind No coffee machine or kettle in the room which forced us to order room service to have some tea before bed. Also no amenities in the bathroom which was shocking for a 5 star hotel since most provide you with almost all the toiletries you need during your stay.

I lived in NY in the early Beekman heyday and it’s honestly amazing to see the way it’s settled into its own charm. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, charming. We got snowed in for several extra days this last trip, and I cannot recommend it enough. Staff was festive, resourceful, accommodating. It was like the 40 year old version of Eloise.

The front desk staff and housekeeping were spectacular. The room was well laid out, very clean, comfortable bed, and well curated amenities. What lets this hotel down are the very popular public spaces. In the morning we had to walk through two different photography session going on. In the evening, after seeing two shows, I was very much looking forward to a nightcap but the bar was three people deep and very loud. I am sure the hotel appreciates the revenue but it seems to come at the expense of the comfort of their paying guests. So I would say the accommodations are excellent but the hospitality needs improvement. If you need a room near FiDi or City Hall then I would recommend but if you are booking this to experience the environment of a full service hotel there are better options in NYC.

The rooms were spacious and easily accommodated our family of 4. The elevators never left us waiting for long and the physical space of the hotel is beautiful. It is conveniently located near almost all subway lines and many amenities that FiDi has to offer. 3 of the 5 nights of our stay the fire alarm was activated in the early morning hours (3-5am), waking us all and that was a big nuisance. In fact, it’s rare on almost all of our previous trips as a Family, so it was particularly alarming to our children, and of course disrupted sleep.

For reference, we are very familiar with 5 star service, have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world including Four Seasons, various Ritz Carltons, Dorchester group hotels, jumeirah group hotels, mandarin oriental. Despite being a beautiful historic building, this hotel lacked and felt more like a 3 star hotel.

We couldn’t check in until 5:30 due to previous guest getting a late check out, which was kind of a bummer. When we got to our room the room service tray was sitting outside our room and remained there all night, so that was gross. There was confetti on the floor in our room from who knows when. But the staff was courteous and kind. And the location was great. We will definitely book again with this hotel.

The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, going out of their way to make us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The on-site restaurant and bar deserve special praise. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively yet refined, and it was the perfect spot to start the evening or wind down after a full day in the city. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, and it quickly became a highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to come back and stay here again on our next visit to New York.

The staff here does not provide attentive and personal service at all. They don’t go out of their way to be helpful, friendly and service oriented. This is the experience from arrival to departure. The first impression was that there is no one opening the door for guests when you arrive with heavy luggage’s. This is the same when you depart.

I loved the upgraded suite, the size and layout suited my purpose. I loved the quality of the furnishings and the attention to detail. The bar and atrium were exceptional and a true winner. Definitely, coffee in the room. As two coffee addicts, it was an effort trooping down everyone morning to pick up coffee. A welcome note and nightly turn down service would also be a boost.

Beautiful hotel. Outstanding gothic architecture and good location.Mediocre staff, refused to upgrade room and honor the $55 drink credit even though I’m an Expedia platinum member. First time I have been denied this benefit. I asked the concierge at what time did the bar closed and he replied visibly annoyed “I don’t understand what you need.” This is more a 4-star hotel service than 5-star. Never going back.

Fantastic property with wonderful staff to match it! From the moment we arrived the valets were friendly and accommodating, followed by an efficient and friendly front desk staff. Turn down service left us with a nice welcome note and cookies to enjoy in the evening. The room was thoughtfully appointed and beds and bedding were divine. Just outstanding stay! I only regret not being able to enjoy a meal in the wonderful on site restaurants or a drink at the bar but I will be back for sure! Spectacular!

The hotel took us to another world – back to classic 20th-century New York. Everything was simply perfect: the reception staff, the entire team without exception. Breakfast was high-quality and delicious, and the bar-restaurant was absolutely outstanding. From the elevators to the lobby, every detail was designed authentically and beautifully. The location in Lower Manhattan is excellent, just a few minutes from the Brooklyn Bridge. Highly recommended!

There was a flashing fire alarm mechanism on the ceiling in the room we stayed in that flashed a light all night long which interrupted our sleep and was in the room they moved us to. The cleaning crew forgot to give us new towels one of the nights so we had none and we had hot water about 80% of the time and lukewarm water the other 20%. We love the hotel, but there’s some things that need some improvement, thanks.

The hotel itself is breathtaking, with gorgeous rooms, an impressive atrium, and a restaurant at its center. This hotel has such rich history, that they almost should do tours here! The food at the hotel restaurants was delicious, the service excellent, and the décor makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into old New York, where anything magical could happen. We’re already looking forward to returning. Located in the heart of downtown and a 5 minute walk from the Brooklyn Bridge, the hotel is also just a short walk from the Seaport District, another enchanting area filled with great dining options and views of ships in the harbor! That part of Manhattan truly feels special—like stepping into historic New York—and staying at The Beekman made our experience truly unique.

I've stayed at The Beekman several times, and it continues to be my favorite hotel in NYC. From the beautifully appointed rooms to the stunning bar and unbeatable location, everything about this place is top-notch. But what truly sets it apart is the staff—always warm, professional, and attentive. Every stay has been exceptional, and this time was no different. Already looking forward to my next visit! If there’s one area that could use a bit of improvement, it would be breakfast. I’m not sure if it was just an off day or if there was some miscommunication, but our entire order came out incorrectly—from my iced latte arriving hot, to receiving scrambled eggs after asking for no eggs at all, and my friend’s meal being the opposite of what she ordered. That said, we didn’t make a fuss and still enjoyed the meal, but a little more attention to detail would go a long way. Even so, it’s not a deal breaker—I’ll absolutely continue dining there during my stays.

Understaffed. We called twelve times to get towels and our toilet was running the entire time. Their plumber came “to fix it,” but it still made noise. There is a nightclub inside that we were never told about. If you are staying during the weekend forget about getting any sleep. There was thumping music until the early morning hours. We hardly slept while there.

Great hotel for sleeping no traffic/street noise! Limited menu at bar room as well as short period for breakfast. Otherwise, hotel was full of charm and character.

No doorman, the pickup from the airport that we ordered from the hotel made us walk in the cold with the luggage to the parking lot with him. I mean what the point to get a private drive if you need to start walking miles in such freezing weather to the car?! We asked for late checked out the said no. I ordered sparkling water at the bar she gave me this huge bottle without a glass or anything like I'm in the supermarket. Very noisy rooms. Idk we stayed for less than 24h so it was ok not more than that.

I really enjoyed the hotel it was really nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was amazing. Getting to the hotel from the metro was really easy from Penn Station.

This place is uniquely beautiful. I loved it and would go back again and again.

We were so excited to return to the Beekman having had such a great experience in 2019. The property has gone down hill since and was both run down and dirty. kudos to the staff for upgrading our room, but the floor was filthy and we only got housekeeping services (clean towels, etc,) for 4 of the 6 days there.

Beautiful well kept property. Great restaurants options.

Positive aspects of our stay were negated by (a) bed bugs and, even more concerning, (b) the hotels lack of response to our concerns regarding them. My husband and I woke up on the first night being bitten by bed bugs in our corner suite. We could feel them but turned on the lights and didn’t see them and tried to convince ourselves it was just paranoia. We woke up on the second morning with a classic pattern of obvious bug bites indicating our suspicions were correct. We tried to stay calm and inform the staff quietly, preferring to give the property a chance to make amends in the case it was an early infestation and not the product of lack of a proper bed bug protocol at the hotel. They started by first telling us they did an investigation and there were none, then after seeing photos of the bites they agreed to at least treat the room. But as for us? In the way of compensation for our trouble and completely ruining our stay, as well as being forced to heat treat and throw away many of our belongings in an attempt to not bring the bed bugs home with us, we were offered an “upgrade” the next time we want to book with them. This room was a (paid) upgrade and there were bed bugs. There will not be a next time!

Beautiful architecture with clean well kept rooms. Rooms are decent sized for a lower Manhattan location. Housekeeping was offered daily with all amenities. Room service was great! Conveniently located with small cafes and delis on walking distance should you chose to not dine in. Front office staff was very helpful.

Really lovely place with a cool vibe and energy. I wish that I had known that the rooms surround a party venue with noise til one in the morning. It's ok if the rooms are sound proof, but it was super loud until everyone cleared out around 1:30 am. Then you could hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. Two girlfriends were fighting and cursing each other out early in the morning in the room next to us. We heard every word. Rooms are spacious for New York. Bathrooms are nice and shower is great. But if a good sleep is important to you, it's not for you.

Everything was wonderful EXCEPT if you are hoping to fall asleep before the Bar Room at the bottom of the atrium closes, good luck. I never have an issue falling asleep and because of the way the hotel is built, essentially tiers above, it is like a clanking echo chamber. It sounded like we were at a ballgame. Our children were up all night. We got terrible sleep despite the beds being comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, AVOID. I am a deep sleeper and heavy sleeper who can fall asleep after a pot of coffee and I could not get the rest I needed.

Service at the temple bar couple have been a bit more swift. Ordered a bottle of wine and waited over twenty minutes, asked server the status and did they couldn’t find the bottle. Waiting over twenty minutes isn’t really acceptable- clients should be informed the status or at least that they are looking for it and not wait almost half an hour to be told they can’t find the bottle so they could make a different selection. And when the tab comes there is a charge for the new bottle and the bottle they could not find.. be more transparent with clients.

A truly stunning hotel, centrally located, amazing staff. A real 5 star experience! Tried the Beekman after a bad experience at the Four Seasons, and it was the best decision ever. We will be back.

We did have a great stay. Only area for improvement might be to include a luggage rack in the room for a place to pop a carry on. Otherwise staff was so kind and attentive. The environment was lovely and I can’t find any faults! A really pretty and unique hotel.
