Slow elevator

Very convenient location. One elevator out of service; the other was abysmally slow. I’m sure this is a short-term problem but it was a negative to wait 5 minutes for the elevator and then slow stops at each floor to reach the lobby.

Staff was friendly There was no handwash and hotel had shortage of that. They could have more options in breakfast for vegetarians

They put me in a room under someone else’s reservation I was unable to get my room at night and my items were in the room. It caused me so much stress and in the morning when I also I attempted to back in the room the room was locked. It was very stressful. They promised to apply points to my account to make up for the bad experience but that did not happen.

1 of 2 elevators were broken and the one that worked made so much noise we couldn’t sleep. Staff was rude on our check out day and we had to walk down 10 flights of stairs because the elevator would not goto the any floors.

Maintenance guy walked into my room uninvited. Elevators broken and waited for ever to get down or up, and would make horrible noises when opened and closed which echoed down the hall, front staff was rude and nasty. The worst experience ever. Do not stay here.

Breakfast was also very disappointing, with very limited options. What made it worse was that as soon as breakfast hours ended, the staff immediately asked us to leave the area without allowing even a few extra minutes to finish comfortably, which felt unfriendly and unwelcoming. Another frustrating issue was the elevator situation itself. There was constantly someone cleaning or managing the elevator, and every time we wanted to go up or down, we had to wait 15–20 minutes. Since we were staying on the 10th floor, this became extremely inconvenient. The person controlling the elevator would also decide who could enter and when, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. Overall, despite the good location, the service and experience were not pleasant, and we would not stay here again.

Disappointing. Elevators not working and the staff did not seem to view it as an urgent issue. Rooms were small. Overall I would not recommend for the price.

The room was very small, probably the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The bedside light didn't work. Other than the size of the room, the hotel was fine and the staff was helpful. I appreciated that they had cell phone chargers available for rent as I'd forgotten mine. The hotel is conveniently located for Park Ave and Lexington. There are lots of restaurants in the area and a new Tatte restaurant is supposed to open this summer right across the street.

The room has almost no lighting and was very dark. I think a light needs to be replaced in there. The air conditioning unit was broken and only one slow elevator was working.

The breakfast on a Saturday was not very good. The steak strips looked a few days old. The staff was nice. The only big complaint was the cc payment. They didn’t know how to use the computer. I checked out received a receipt than they told me I was denied. It took them so long to figure out problems. Also the room is very small. The elevator is a bit scary. Makes noise and takes a bit of time for doors to open. I took the stairs.

My stay at this hotel was fine. However, I was promised a discount upon checking for downgrading to a different room and it’s been two weeks since my stay and I’ve yet to see my discount or refund for my stay.

Great place to stay for a weekend in NYC. It was conveniently located 1 block away from the subway, was on a quiet block, and easy to navigate the city to and from. The hotel has some wear and tear (rug stains in the elevator, chipped paintwork in the bathroom, etc) but overall solid condition.

First, we looked for a location near my son's apartment, and this one is perfect. We also wanted breakfast included, and a varied and complete breakfast. It's close to a variety of restaurants, shops selling different brand-name items, and other amenities. The staff is very approachable and eager to please guests. This was our sixth stay in two years, and we'll definitely be back. The area is excellent, and we highly recommend it.

The property's location was the main reason I chose to stay here with my family for my first visit to New York, and we are happy with our choice. Also, the Staff at this property are very professional, helpful and always there to serve you. The elevator & parking service. One of the elevators was being shut down for the entire time. There is no parking on the hotel premises, but a Car park is nearby. Car parking is very costly and be aware of that before travelling with your car.

The location was great and the size of the room was satisfactory. It is not a 4 star hotel by any means. During our stay, the water had no pressure so we couldn't get a decent shower, the tv wasn't working and the sink clogged bringing up all manner of dirt and slime. It is the only hotel we have ever stayed in where breakfast ends at 9 (they really don't want you to have it). And the food is literally inedible. The staff did not seem to care at all and were completely unimpressed no matter what you told them.

We had a great stay it was only for a day the location is very convenient the only part we dislike was the elevator but glad we are heavy sleepers. Everything was cleaned and I’m a clean freak I bought cleaning supplies to wipe down the doors and remote control and to my surprise everything was clean no dark colors on the white rags I used to wipe down the room. I would come back again. Staff was also ok I didn’t need anything or bothered them but they gave us complementary waters and small snacks. They let me park until I got settled in the room I thought that was nice. We stayed on a Tuesday so it wasn’t too busy. I’m actually very impressed with this place. I looked up the reviews before I booked basically it’s a lot of entitled people that complains when things don’t go their way, the walls are thin I get that but it’s a big city it’s loud everywhere especially on a busy street if you don’t like the noise maybe find something outside of the city instead of on a busy street.

Got rooms in front of the elevator. Very loud all night, the elevators were squeaky and we had strangers knocking on our door at clow eto midnight. Convenient location and staff was nice but wouldn't go back

The room was small but well-designed; the sink counter looked as if it had not been cleaned between stays. There was construction on the road not far from the hotel that started at 8am. The hotel lobby was pleasant and clean. Breakfast was good.

Close to subway and Madison Square Park made this hotel very convenient.

Clean. I STAYED JAN. 25 TO JAN 26. BLIZZARD WEATHER..ROOM COLD, NO HEAT. The maintenance guy could not fix the 8. I was given an extra blanket, that's all. Also only a tiny lamp with a dark shade. ROOM was too dark to see well. I will not be staying there.

I have to mention the elevator - it makes the sketchiest sound and I was reliving my PTSD from the Tower of Terror. Upon arrival we heard other customers complained that it was making a lot of sound day and night in their room but happy to say that it wasn’t the case for us (#1008) Talking about the room, it is very small. When in NYC we’re not spending much time there anyway but here it was difficult to get around the beds and have place for our carry on (2 adults & 1kid). It was exceptionally cold during our stay (-15C) but the window are not well insulated and we had to keep the shutter closer to keep the room warm, not amazing when there’s only a single light above the door and 2 nightstands Finally the shower is not great. The door is not sealed properly and water kept leaking on the floor when someone took a shower. Not a great experience for the person coming after.

Nice location, near Madison Square Claustrophobic room, super narrow hallways, air filter was dirty, room window/view was weird, overall wouldn’t recommend.

There was a storm when we have arrived. The staff and manager were very accommodating and helped us stay one more night and late check out due to the circumstances. I wish the room was slightly cleaner.

The room was very clean, and housekeeping did a great job refreshing it during our time. The area was safe with plenty of restaurants and things within walking distance. I honestly have no complaints. If I can get another deal in the future, I’d definitely rebook!

internet was bad and not easy to access. had to sign up for a marriot program. There are also 8 hotels with this same name. We went to the wrong one, then staff there directed us to another one, which was also not the correct one.

The hotel is conveniently located, which was a key factor in our choice. The rooms are relatively small and cramped, something I was aware of in advance, though the photos on the website did not fully reflect how tight the space feels. Significant Operational Issues- Unfortunately, the stay was marked by a series of technical problems that affected the overall experience: Recurring plumbing issues: During the stay I had to call maintenance several times for the same problems - twice because there was no cold water in the sink (only boiling water came out), a leaking sink, and a microwave that turned out to be broken. Additional problems: At one point the room key stopped working, which caused considerable inconvenience. Constant noise: The room was adjacent to the elevator, which generated loud and disturbing noises at all hours, significantly disrupting sleep and rest. Unsatisfactory Customer Service I requested in advance, on several occasions, along with a couple of friends, to be placed on the same floor. Despite repeated requests from both sides, the request was not fulfilled, and no reasonable explanation was given. Throughout the stay I approached the reception multiple times regarding the different issues, but only received partial and case-by-case responses, without any comprehensive treatment or acknowledgment of the overall dissatisfaction. Despite the convenient location, the overall experience was frustrating due to the poor technical maintenance and unprofessional customer service. I hope hotel management will take this feedback into consideration to improve service in the future.

Shower leaked out beneath the shower door, making bathroom floor wet. TV remote controller was slow. There was a significant lag between pressing a button on the controller and the reaction of the tv.

great breakfast and service. I was able to check in early. The room was excellent for my needs. Cable and streaming what I needed. great location. Great view from room. It was expensive but I knew that heading in. I didn't like the TV remote. Elevator slow. But these were not huge issues.

Property is 16 minute walk to Union Square area. Very pleasant even during the evening. Lyft rides are easy to get, the entrance to the hotel is off the main road so it is quieter. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant.

El check-in fue rápido y los empleados muy buenos en general. El cuarto no es grande, pero es moderno. Limpio todo. Una falla es que no tienen lugar para colgar las toallas. Otra falla es el jabón de barra, tiene huecos y se rompe fácilmente. El desayuno es excelente. Otra falla fue que una noche la puerta de mi cuarto no abrió con la tarjeta. Tuve que bajar cuatro veces para que arreglaran mi tarjeta o me dieran otras, pero comoquiera no funcionaba. Una empleada trató con su llave maestra y tampoco funcionó. Me dijeron que quizás era el pad que estaba malo o la batería de este. Solo pude entrar porque desperté a mi madre, que dormía en la habitación, y ella abrió la puerta. Al otro día, mis tarjetas funcionaron. La ubicación del hotel es perfecta para los lugares que visité. Llovió y pienso que deberían tener sombrillas para prestar, Nobel sistema privatizado de una compañía que las alquila usando tarjetas de crédito. Finalmente, al hacer el check out del hotel, le dije al empleado que pediría un taxi. El empleado me dijo que el taxi es caro al aeropuerto y me ofreció el servicio de transportación del hotel. Le pregunté el precio y me dijo que era $80-85. Estuve en dudas por un momento y el empleado me dijo con rudeza: Es cuestión de escoger, uno o lo otro. Le dije que pediría un taxi. El taxi me cobró $48, así que el ofrecimiento del empleado era un engaño, hubiera gastado mucho si le hubiera hecho caso.

Hotel clean , reception staff friendly and helpful . Room clean and comfortable, bathroom had shower only which was a walk in so big and clean, a bath would have been fabulous due to all the walking we did but not a deal breaker. Coffee machine 8n room but not well stocked, a kettle would have been better. Breakfast was disappointing as little choice , there was bagels , a few cereals , waffles only at the weekends so missed out on these , most of the staff at breakfast were unfriendly and unhelpful but these were the older staff , the young staff were trying to help. We wanted to be able to have decent breakfast to set us up for the day so for this reason I would choose somewhere else next time. Overall a good staff due to location and room.

Delicious breakfast and liked that there was something different everyday. Would have loved a better muffin or pastry. Loved that workers were stationed there to fill food or clean up I felt very safe going in and out.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in New York. The lobby was festively decorated. It was close and convenient to things we wanted to do—times square, papillon bistro, Lillie’s, etc. We were able to check into a room a little early which put us in a room across from the elevator. I thought it would be an issue at first, but I was not bothered at all by foot traffic or anything. The parking was a bit confusing with the signs and where parking is actually allowed. I would keep this hotel in mind for staying in New York again.

The property was nice. Overall staff were pleasant except one lady at day of checkout who was extremely rude. We did not have cleaning service unless we asked. The beverage station for water and coffee were only intermittently available. There was a loud knocking noise from the elevator that kept us from sleeping for 4 nights that we stayed.

The breakfast and location were great. The room was too small for a 5 night stay, no dressers, could barely walk next to the bed. I would not have booked if I knew how small it was.

Everything was excellent, the service, the cleanliness, the breakfasts, how close it was to the attractions. I will come back and recommend it.

We stayed there for 3 nights but nobody came to clean our room .

Room was very small and shower walls were dirty. The breakfast was horrible and don’t expect to find a seat to sit down.

I’d like to start off by saying this property had the friendliest, most helpful staff ever. This is a nice European style hotel—the rooms are on the small side, but with efficient use of space. My family of 3 was comfortable there for our holiday trip to NYC. There is no parking at or near the hotel, but it’s convenient for public transportation with a subway stop a block away. There are plenty of places to eat within 2 blocks. I would certainly stay again for short trips to the city.

Room by the elevators can be noisy as machinery is loud and people talking. A very good moderately priced option.

It was great! Just so happens there was only one elevator working. It is a minor issue!

Great customer service

The beds were comfortable. The rooms are not very quiet. You can hear everything. Could not sleep due to loud noises all night long.

Only negative comment is the lack of horizontal surface in a very small room. Bed great, breakfast great, location great. Very friendly staff.

Hotel is Close enough to everything. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent. I would recommend Springhill easily.

I wasn't crazy about the grim view from our window at the back of the hotel.

Friendly staff. Convenient to our daughter who lives in the East Village. Breakfast was better than expected, and loved having a free coffee bar in the lobby. Elevators were a little wonky and one of the two was broken down for most of our stay.

The room was small, but very well appointed and decorated. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to sights and taxi cabs. We did some sightseeing after we checked out and the front desk stored our luggage for us for several hours.

Really nice and clean however the rooms need better accomafations for luggage and clothe storage. Theyre small and the bed is nice but only one side of the bed has a night stand. This is tough for couples. Theres nowhere for clothe so everything goes on the floor.

The elevator was very inconsistent often passing your floor or going in the opposite direction of the choice made
