Reviews
The hotel is in a prime location with friendly and helpful staff, but it is outdated and lacks amenities such as a bar, restaurant, and coffee in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but some guests have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

The rooms are large for New York but this is a very tired hotel. It looks like it was amazing in its day but it needs a few millions to update. Staff is great, pricing good, location great.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing and so helpful if you’re looking for restaurants or stores. Great suggestions for sight seeing too! If the bar/lounge area was up and running this place would be a knock out!

Old properties. Renovation needed. Room was moderately clean. The check-in staff was not bad. But the bell boy was terrible.

Property was in a good location and the staff was friendly upon check in and check out. I was put in a room right off of the elevators and the room itself didn’t seem very clean. Unfortunately, there were some stains and a couple holes in the sheets.

The staff was very helpful. There was only one entrance as the back side on 43rd street was locked. Taxis and ubers as well as myself got confused of the entrance and ended up at the back door to only have to walk around the entire block to get in. Perhaps could have a room key allow you to unlock that door.

I liked the location. Very close to Grand Central and Midtown destinations. I was in shock. I used to do many business networking meetings at The Royalton. It was the place to be! The hotel lobby is HUGE and used to be wall-to-wall people. Now?? The place is a ghost town! They never opened the bars or restaurant after COVID, so it's like I was in the hotel alone. All of the chairs are beat up and worn. No ramp for accessibility. No doormen greeting you and opening doors. The hotel rooms used to be luxurious. Now, they're just sad. Not even a coffeemaker. Wastebaskets, sinks, tile, etc are chipped, broken, and rundown. So sad.

Very clean, huge rooms for NYC, staff are amazingly friendly and really go above and beyond! The bar and restaurant in the huge lobby have not been in operation for years, and the hotel kind of feels like it’s partially shut down, but they continue to rent out rooms? A bit confusing. Also, no room service.

Stayed here for business. It was a pricey last minute room, but turned out to be a very nice one.
- 3/5
Spooky, entering the lobby of The Royalton was a ghost town. Before Covid the Royalton was the place to be seen. Today, the room was totally outdated and the stains on the carpet made me a little nervous. The staff appeared to be on the same frequency, low energy and scripted. Let's not forget there were no cable channels available, just local stations.
- 3.5/5
For the price, I believe the room could've been a bit bigger. Same as the bathroom.

The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is well located, close to many key attractions and convenient spots in the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and housekeeping is provided daily, with fresh towels and amenities regularly replenished. The hotel itself would benefit from refurbishment, as the lobby furnishings appear visibly outdated. There is also a lack of key services such as room service, a bar, and a restaurant, which would typically be expected in a hotel of this type. As it stands, the property feels more like a private residence rather than a full-service hotel. Additionally, the absence of in-room coffee facilities—or even a coffee machine available elsewhere in the hotel—is notable, as this is generally considered a basic standard.

Memories! The place is the Studio 54 of hotels. But unlike Studio 54 it hasn’t left me with a degenerative disease or class A addiction. Just some fond memories of supermodels strutting their stuff down the dimly lit runway like a walkway past the booths where Martinis and Mai Tais were consumed at happy hours. Now the place is like a morgue where disoriented Dutch tourists try to figure out why the place was ever cool. Not me. I love it. The rooms are minimal yet large and have a seductive OnlyFansSet feel about them. That someone hasn’t resurrected it.

Interior extremely tight, stained carpets, mediocre at best

DONT EVER GO THERE. It’s a complete rip off!! Paying more than 500 usd per night for a room at a hotel that has not touched its interior for more than 30 years, do not even serve a cup of coffee, have a waterglass in the room, have zero sound isolation (like you are literally standing on the street) is a joke!! The hotel looks like it is closed down for business. Sharing its name with another hotel seems to be the scam they use to attract their new guests. I doubt anyone ever comes back - until maybe 30 years after - hoping/expecting the place to have been through a refurbishment and serious upgrade.
- 2/5
Staff were great.A good location. I have stayed many, many times at The Royalton in the past but not for 6 years. Since my last trip the super lively bars have closed and the restaurant has shut. Clearly no investment has been made for some time.It feels like a tired, down at heal place well past its best, whereas in the past it felt trendy and vibrant. A real shame. The bed was old and lumpy and I woke up with back ache.
- 3/5
The place is weird-- seems to be waiting to be acquired and redeveloped. Lobby is shabby and its abandoned bars and empty spaces are depressing.

I stayed at at the Royalton for a work trip, so the location to my office was the biggest pro. Aside from that the staff were very friendly and helpful, I would give them 5 stars. This property is very tired and is in desperate need of an update. The rooms did not feel clean, I found a wad of hair in my shower and woke up with a clogged head every morning due to the HVAC. I would stay somewhere else if you can. The lobby is beautiful but nothing is open, they have the facilities for a bar and restaurant but have neither functioning.

Do not book at this hotel. While the location is great, there are other hotels close by that are updated, occupied by a food and bev vendor, and do give “Homicide New York” vibes. This place was creepy and needs to be remodeled terribly. I don’t understand how it’s still operating. The pictures look nothing like the actual hotel. The Royalton is not very royal.

Room was incredibly large for NYC standards, appreciate that very much. Very good hotel location if you want to go around Manhattan - close to the metro line, very touristic location though (Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park are in close walking distance). The hotel is clearly very old, and with the fact that most of it hasn't been renewed, the bathroom, couch, and the carpet don't seem very clean. In the lobby the waiting seats are broken and the stuffing of chairs comes out. I think this place has the potential to be restored but as it is right now I wouldn't go back.
- 2/5
It’s honestly over hyped, tv didn’t work the entire night as far as WiFi or connecting my phone from streaming services. There was also a dead roach in the entrance just smooshed on the carpet for some hours.

Be clear - the property has no restaurant, but that is not an issue given your location. The staff is wonderfully accommodating and the rooms are very cool.

There was a leak in the ceiling - not just a drip but a gush. Someone must have left the water running on in the room above me. I had to switch out rooms. Needless to say I will not be staying at this location again. I’ve stayed at the Royalton on park many times but this hotel shares only the name itself.
- 2/5
Good location Royalton used to be a great NY hotel with a wonderful buzzy lobby. Now it has no bar, no restaurant, no atmosphere and the bare minimum in the now tired rooms. It feels like a business that has been stripped, prior to being sold.

The AC kept freezing and although the maintenance man told us how to fix it we shouldn't have to keep defrosting for 2 hours at a time with only the fan mode. Luckily it was cooler out and he gave us the okay to open the windows. Did not like the shower knobs. They were very confusing, minor inconvenience.

Location It was dated and dingy. Everything felt dirty. Our tub backed up the first night and a shard of would came off the moulding and stabbed my husband. We woke up with shoulder and neck aches each day.

I love the location! The room was big and the staff was so kind and polite! I will be staying again!
- 3/5
It is an ok place for a couple of nights. I stayed here a couple of years ago and the place was in better shape, it needs some upkeep
- 2/5
This hotel is well located, but it is dated, not well kept, our room was extremely small, the shower has sparkling mirrors, the desk was shaby, the mattress had no support. At night, extremely loud noises from malfunctioning equipment outside the window made it very difficult to sleep. We called the front desk, and eventually they solved the problem. This was a bad experience, not worth the price except for location.

Place seemed half-moved out of. poorly maintained? Poorly remodeled? Not sure.
- 4/5
A little dated. A resort fee of $40 per night is charged for internet and gym and telephone. A bit cheeky, especially as I used none of these standard hotel features. Lobby bars and restaurant are closed. Good midtown location. Good beds.

Did not use the pool or the gym so I can’t speak to the conditions. The property has a charming, elegant feel upon first entering. The front desk staff was very courteous. After that it goes downhill. The first room I was assigned was dismal. There were massive stains on the sofa, a tear in the window treatments, cracks in the bathtub, and the dresser was falling apart. I was given another room that was only slightly better. Had I the mental energy to cancel the entire stay, fight for a refund and find a more appropriate property I would have. The bed was comfortable and clean. The property advertised a bar. There was no bar. Very little sign of life besides the hotel staff. The elevator doors were concerning. It was merely a place to sleep. A trusted friend recommended this place and was very disappointed to hear about the decline of the property.

- 5/5
My go to spot in NYC, convenient location, beds are always very comfortable and the staff is great
- 3/5
The room reeked of fresh paint, the doors didn't close properly (the bathroom doors didn't close, the dresser doors and side doors to cabinets didn't close either). There was also no top sheet on the bed which isn't a deal breaker, but it was odd. The tub drain was partially clogged so it drained slowly, and also kept closing on itself so we had to pull it up periodically while the water continuously rose in the tub. There was no ventilation fan and the ceiling showed signs of mold and mildew. Additionally, the TV service was disappointing. It had a few news channels available, but otherwise offered instructions to hook up your phone to stream something from your device.
- 5/5
Location and friendly staff The bed was a little lumpy
- 4/5
The convenience to Times Square and neighboring restaurants/ shops etc. The ventilation system was slightly outdated and the room felt stuffy at times; especially after taking a shower. It would have been nice to have screens on the windows to have that as an option to open them due to the lack of ventilation.
- 5/5
When this place opened it was the coolest hotel in all NYC, when I got it for a deal I assumed it had fallen, but ti has not it is still cool and in good shape, in a great location, cool clientele and staff. No cups in the room, shampoo and conditioner could have been higher quality, and HVAC could be modernized. I wish it still had a bar.
- 0.5/5
The location It’s dated
- 2/5
Very dated hotel, barebones amenities, noisy HVAC. At least they had the decency to waive the "resort fee" in return. Should have listened to the critical reviews. Will not be back.
- 5/5
The room is very good, clean, and comfortable. The bed deserves a special mention because it’s genuinely comfortable, which is something that can be hard to find in many hotels. The bathroom is also very good and well maintained. Another positive point is that I didn’t have any issues with extra charges, which unfortunately happens in some hotels. The elevator also worked perfectly during my entire stay, which is great since that can sometimes be a problem in other places. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on a future trip.
- 5/5
The hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan, which makes everything very convenient. The lobby was beautiful and had a nice fireplace that made it feel very cozy. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The entrance and hallways were clean and well kept. The rooms were very nice and cozy, and the bed was very comfortable and warm. The shower was great as well. There are stores and places to go on every corner, so the location is perfect. I would definitely recommend staying here.

All of the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The staff called our room to make sure things were okay and if we needed any housekeeping services. I was a little taken back with the size of the room and the limited space in the bathroom for my essentials. However, my partner and I only stayed two nights in the standard room so we really didn’t need much anyway. Overall, it was a decent stay.

Bathroom was ok shower does not drain water properly. You had to be very careful turning the bathroom sink knobs when turning on water because if you don’t your whole bathroom will be covered with water due to the pressure and design of the sink. We had a few incidents turning the knob wrong way and had water all over the floor within seconds. Bed was comfortable. There is a mini fridge in the room but takes a while before cooling down water or anything you place in the fridge.

The value received from this hotel is tremendous for the block on which it is located. And it's close to many other desirable spots that I frequent. The Ian Shrager grandeur is gone, but the unused bar area is still a gem. When I had a heating problem in the middle of the night, they immediately sent a maintenance person to fix it.

Nice, but dated hotel in central downtown location. Staff was friendly and professional. No restaurant onsite, but several close by. The mattress was lumpy, shower controls were unmarked and confusing to use, bathroom sink was clogged/backed up. Overall a decent place at a decent price, would probably stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located just two blocks away from Bryant Park/NY Public Library and a quick walk from Rockefeller Center. So much is within walking distance, the subway and bus stops are also nearby to explore other parts of the city as well. The hotel is very simple anenities-wise. It's definitely a place to just go in and sleep while you spend the day exploring the city. I will say the lobby is gorgeous and luxe and not a reflection of the rooms upstairs. A couple of nights we went out to get tea and pastries to have in the lobby downstairs in front of the fireplace before heading up for the night. Hotel staff are some of the friendliest I have ever experienced. The location and staff are the reason I will stay here again in the future.

Very peculiar hotel. Entrance looks like under construction. The lobby which I thought was attractive is a tomb. They closed their bar and restaurant so no one sits in the lobby. Room is large with an enormous round tub Very dark room. Door ways are narrow. Doubt you could get a wheelchair through. Staff seems unhappy. Just weird place

Hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. While the lobby area is cozy, this once lovely hotel is now very bare bones - no amenities in the room, cheap thin towels, no restaurant or bar any more and not even a coffee shop or coffee in the room. Electrical outlets are in odd locations. The shower was fine, good water pressure for a high rise hotel in NY. The tub had multiple cracks and would not have been a functional tub.

The hotel lobby was nice and staff was good. Our room was gross. Had a musty smell and was very dirty. The shower was filled with MOLD. The toilet had stains on it. I had to disinfect this entire room before touching anything in it. Definitely NOT worth it.

The room was not what they had pictured on the website. It felt really old and outdated. Also, there is no more bar and restaurant. They closed it during the pandemic and never re-opened so that wasn't ideal. The room was decent size for New York so that was a plus but otherwise I would likely not stay here again.

The only redeeming feature was the staff were excellent and helpful; many of them long timers from the glory days of Royalton 25 years ago. The better Royalton is the one on Park Avenue which has a pool bar restaraunt and full service. Stay there and don't stay at the Royalton New York.

The Royalton has seen better days. The lobby is a cavernous wasteland of empty sofas and chairs=empty barstools (as they have no bar or any type of food in the building) There are no facilities, at all. One side of the lobby they do not even provide heat! The level of service at the hotel also leaves much to be desired, and when the rooms are only 250 square feet or less, there are far better options in NYC.Further be advised that if you travel with more than 2 bags, they may not fit in the elevator.

Staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, eager to assist. The condition of the hotel is not good - had to move rooms because the AC unit was rattling and loud; second room was not much better. Rooms are clean but rundown. Ventilation system is old and noisy. There is no room service or even coffee/tea making facilities in rooms, and not even glasses for water.

I booked through Orbitz, and when I asked to cancel and move to another hotel, neither the hotel nor Orbitz would help. The hotel refused to issue a refund, and Orbitz refused to stand by their customer. I was left scrambling to find another place to stay for the night, even though I was misled by false advertising and given unsanitary accommodations. False photos, dirty rooms, and terrible customer service — both from the hotel and Orbitz. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

I was down in nyc for a convention and concert. The hotel was a perfect place for any trips to the theater district or times square. The staff was nice and attentive, the room was clean and even recleaned when I stepped out and returned a few hours later. I will definitely use them again in the future.
- 5/5
She went above and beyond She recommended 3 very specific stores that she had researched and placed the list with address under my door. Amazing young lady!!!
- 4/5
The bed mattress sagged a bit. I would rate the bed 7.5/10. A new mattress would increase the rating of this room. The HVAC unit’s fan was quite loud. The thermostat did not have a fan speed control, only auto or off settings. The bathroom was clean, modern and spacious. The bar & restaurant was closed, apparently since the pandemic. General cleanliness of the hotel was good.
- 5/5
Amazing. Will stay every time we are in town. Room is big clean and bed is sooooo good after 30,000 steps a day. Staffis so nice and hotel is near everything. Love love dont want to leave. Book it

- 5/5

- 4/5
Very well located hotel at a very reasonable price point - 5 minute walk to Times Square and maybe a 7 minute walk to Broadway? It had a bit of a vibe of "times gone by" so it's why I didn't rate it higher, but definitely a solid choice.

Quiet Hotel with International Hotel.
- 1/5
In all of my years coming to the city, including previous states 10 years ago at this property, I have never seen a hotel more filthy than this one. After the first room was despicable, and we showed pictures of how dirty it was, we were taken to another room that was just as dirty. After a staff, member commented about the need to make renovations, They immediately made it clear that there would be no refund. So we left. We have pictures that we can share.
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 3/5
Staff was good. Room condition was not that great.
- 5/5
Room and bathroom were a good size. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
- 5/5
Great hotel we cannot wait to stay again
- 5/5
Accommodations were very comfortable. Not plush, but very adequate for my needs. Fantastic location so close to Times Square and the theater district. I'd consider staying here again.
- 5/5
My stay was amazing but it was Hotels dot com that gave me the most trouble. They canceled my non-refundable room the same day I booked the room and then I didn’t get the room upgrade I paid for.
- 3/5
Looks like this property was primo back in the day - was a ghost town in the heart of Times Square - barely saw a human being during my stay here - no food service, no bar, virtually no staff. I am not a prima donna, but was shocked at the lack of amenities in the NY hotel and Ive stayed at all kinds of properties in the city.
- 1/5
You pay too much for the room and they don’t provide parking, and for valet the front desk told me that the valet person gone for the day find a place to park
- 4/5
Everything great- but zero food and bev on property- no coffee or alcohol
- 4/5
The lobby area was beautiful, the rooms had old carpet
- 5/5
No restaurant or room service available.
- 1/5
This property need to be completely renovated. The rooms are dirty, carpet stained and unpleasant odor in the rooms. The bar and restaurant are closed.
- 5/5
The staff were friendly, and the person who called me a yellow cap to the airport at the entrance was especially kind and helpful.
- 4/5
If you need or want to be in midtown, it is a very convenient location. The staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was larger than average and comfortable, the bathroom was too small. The hotel is old, made me feel like I was in Europe. The lobby is classic, too bad it isnt really in use anymore. All in all Id stay here again, I think Id just ask if they have any rooms with larger bathrooms
- 3/5
Bigger rooms than what other nyc hotels offer but a bit dated
- 1/5
This was the most vial hotel. Everything was filthy. Your pictures make it look lovely… wrong. You have a nerve even advertising it.
- 5/5
recommend staying here. it’s not the newest property, but the staff is nice and the area is very good.
- 2/5
The hotel staff and lobby area was great. However, I didn’t like that our room’s couch and chair were stained with lord knows what, and that the bathtub’s paint was chipped. Also the refrigerator area was not cleaned after the last occupants. Overall, I felt the room to be unsanitary.
- 5/5
The service staff was excellent but the hotel overall needs some care
- 5/5
great hotel!
- 5/5
Maria (Spain)our front desk person and all of the bell staff were so friendly and open and helpful. I plan on staying again on my next visit
- 2/5
I stayed once before in a different suite with a disco tub & fireplace which was amazing. However, this time around in a different with a similar tub, there was a lot of dirt and grime in the tub before the first use. The heating during winter time barely turned on and we couldn't sleep through the night. We only stayed one day/night but they made no accommodation as an apology, just said "they didn't know what to say but please leave a review". The entrance of the hotel is nice and moody.
- 4/5
We have stayed here a few times and really liked it, hence the return visit. We were very disappointed to learn upon arrival that the bar is permanently closed. The bar and lounge area is really beautiful, lovely to sit and enjoy and has always been crowded with guests. Since the bar is closed the lounge area was empty and the hotel seemed empty as well.
- 5/5
It is in the great location near Times Square, but away from the noise. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are nice. A lots of options for dining and entertainment in the walking distance.
- 5/5
All staff was amazing!!!
- 4/5
Always love staying here. I wish the lounge would open again. It is a beautiful place. They could at least put some disposable cups in the room.
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 5/5
Underrated
- 3/5
Just okay. No complaints about cleanliness, interaction with staff was fine. Nice/unique lobby area is a bit of a waste since bar and restaurant are closed, so no reason to sit there. Large but plain room. We used the basic gym, heat appeared to be stuck on high so uncomfortably warm in there. Great location for broadway, times square, bryant park. Otherwise nothing memorable. Maybe put out a pot of coffee?
- 5/5
Great location. We usually stay right on times square but this was much quieter especially over night and made sleeping easier. It was literally steps to times square if you wanted to be in the middle of everything. Would highly recommend O'Donaghue's Irish pub and restaurant which was a one minute walk. As well as Empire Steakhouse which is in the theater district. ((10 min) Walk. Two great options, but overall some great dining options for all budget points within 1-10 min walks.
- 3/5
I've been staying at Royalton for over 20 years, almost every visit to New York City but I've noticed over the years how the sanitation of the rooms and cleanliness have gone down south. The rooms need renovation as the age of the building and the traffic of the customers are becoming transparent. Please consider a lift in renovation for you will lose long term returning customers. Other than the location of the hotel there are fewer and fewer reasons for returning.
- 5/5
The staff were super friendly, and it was so cozy. I definitely recommend
- 2/5
Hardly anyone in shabby lobby, closed bar, no beverage or food service No coffee maker in rooms
- 5/5
Only complaint would be that the mattress wasn’t the greatest.
- 3/5
Bed was comfortable but I had to unscrew the light bulb to get the light over it to go out.
- 3/5
This hotel has so much potential but fall short. No restaurant, no bar, minimal staff. The room was fine, except only eight channels on the TV, was hard to stream stuff. This hotel used to be owned by one of the owners of studio 54 and I’m sure back in the day. It was a great place but not so much these days. It’s a shame
- 2/5
Get what you pay for. Had to move me as heater wasn’t working. No food or drink which defines this as a motel vs hotel. Stayed here 15 years ago and it was super cool. Not anymore unfortunately
- 2/5
Very budget hotel in Manhattan for a slightly higher than budget price
- 2/5
Everything was really outdated the bathroom had a mildew smell I booked a suite but it was not a luxury hotel feel.
- 1/5
A bar and restaurant USED to be there, NOW nothing. You can’t even get sparkling water. NOTHING has been updated since we were last there. Carpet so worn and torn, tile and bathrooms worn. We chose room for fireplace…which they no longer allow you to use. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING TRIP AND STAY
- 4/5
The room was fine. Small but clean and well appointed. I think, understanding that there is no food or beverage, the lobby area could still be more welcoming. Kind of a ghost town, oddly configured. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the public areas really have a low budget feel to them.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY HERE. I immediately left as it was not clean at all.
- 5/5
Great location, excellent condition
- 2/5
The front staff were unfriendly on 1/4 at approx. 1pm. No cups in the room. Loves the bathroom and the magnifying mirror was great.
- 3/5
Needs updating and more amenities! Carpets, walls all need cleaning! Bathrooms steams with showering and mirrors useless as no fan exhaust. No tables next to bed. Sofa had rips. Windows are so dirty there is no viewing.
- 3/5
There were hairs within the bedsheets when we took off the comforter. Between top sheet and fitted.
- 5/5
This was a first time to use hotel service apart from my main stay hotel chain, which was tooo expensive in NYC, let alone Time Square and the theater district. I was extremely and extraordinarily well pleased with the facilities, service and accommodations!! This will not be the last time with The Royalton or this service via Expedia!
- 5/5
They upgraded my room upon knowing it was my birthday
- 4/5
Great location and the rooms were OK (bathroom nice, carpet in room is a bit outdated), elevators are small, hallways kind of narrow, fitness center small, no restaurant (not even a bar) on site.
- 5/5
No bar, no dining options
- 4/5
good location, staff was ok. Room (and specially the elevators) a little small.
- 4/5
Very friendly m, helpful staff. Much better than expected though still dated, rooms were big, clean and location was great.
- 1/5
I brought my family here for Christmas. We had to leave to get everything. No, vendor machine, no bar area. The price of the rooms was a bit pricey with nothing to do in the hotel. So, terrible stay
- 5/5
Customer service was amazing. The people were great
- 2/5
Air conditioning made a terrible noise all night even when off
- 5/5

- 4/5
Numerous times staying here and they always exceed expectations, despite raising those each time!
- 5/5
No issues with cleanliness, either. I was pleased with the size of the room I got. I would absolutely stay again.
- 4/5
Place is very outdated , probably will shut down . But staff are awesome , location is super convenient; short walk to Times Square. Overall I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice with large rooms for the area.
- 3/5
Good location
- 4/5
The writing pad on the desk in my room had serious molld on the backside of it; my girlfriend spilled something & I had to lift it up to clean the mess; that’s when I noticed the mold problem; it was quite unpleasant…..
- 5/5
Location is fantastic. We had a great stay. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable. The room was very clean. Room could use an update. But otherwise a great hotel.
- 4/5
For NYC, this is a huge room. However, it could be updates. Why a huge desk. No mirror in the room but the bathroom. No microwave, gym with no treadmill but again, great staff. Awesome location. Would still do it again.
- 3/5
Last time I stayed at this hotel was 2019 and I remember it being a great hotel. However it seems like management may have changed since then or they just stopped caring. The lobby is stunning as always. But the rooms are lacking the care they need. In 2019 there was a mini bar with suggestive cute things, robes, etc. Today there is none of that. No mini bar, no robes, paint chipping in places, closets and doors are rickety and probably in need of some wd-40 at a minimum. For the price we paid, there are many other hotels I can think of off the top of my head that are worth the price. I wouldn’t come back here.
- 4/5
Excelente ubicación!!! Edificio clásico neoyorquino ! Solo es sugerir q el tapete de entrada se vea más limpio, da aspecto de descuido. Y el restaurante, q ya este en servicio. Por lo demás, estuve encantada !!
- 5/5
The staff is awesome and friendly. Very nice people.
- 5/5
Excellent base for anywhere in New York. Thank you.
- 5/5
Second time staying here. The staff is great and very accommodating. Rooms are very nice and hotel is quiet. Everything is just a short walk away including shopping and eating. Will stay here for a third time soon.
- 2/5
It desperate need of a renovation.
- 5/5
The staff went out of their way on a daily basis to make me happy and comfortable!
- 2/5
It’s like staying at the holiday Inn express.. and at least at the holiday Inn they give you a free cup of coffee. !!!! Cheap water bottles - they always used to have a Evian!! This was such a disappointment The room 1406 - missing toilet caps- mold all over the slate!! The bathtub was all chipped.. totally nasty and dirty bathroom !!! USB outlets were not working.
- 4/5
NO COFFEE IN THE AM
- 3/5
The heat in my room was not working properly first night. Reported and engineer fixed next day. Also TV has no channel selection. They expect guest to use chrome cast.
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Large room with nice bathroom. Can’t watch tv from bed, Common areas need refurbishing. Would be nice to have a bar and/or restaurant. Lots of seating in lobby with nice fireplace.
- 4/5
Beautiful lobby. Comfortable bed. Extremely loud, even on the 12th floor. No bottles of water or bathrobe.
- 2/5
The radiator was so loud all night, sleeping was continually interrupted. The water temp in the shower could not be lowered from scalding. So no shower. Hotel seems to be in its last moments - bar and restaurants both shut down. Do not stay here.
- 3/5
Overall, it was an ok stay. Everything felt and looked fired. The room did not come with coffee or tea, glasses, and the fridge didn’t work well. The room was clean enough but has seen better days.
- 5/5
We showed up late unfortunately due to traffic but they upgraded us at no extra charge from a suite to a penthouse. We stayed one night and checked out at 12:30 no problem. Nice facility and friendly staff, I wish we could have stayed longer.
- 2/5
This place was probably very nice not so long ago...but not anymore. The staff was fairly nice, bed was comfortable and the location is absolutely perfect. Those are the only good things I can think of. Now for the bad....where to begin? The restaurant and bar are closed and the lobby area is desolate. The room is dirty and we wouldnt even touch the small sofa i the room. I mean that literally....we didn't touch it! The fridge didn't work in the slightest and there were no amenities at all in the room other than some soaps. No coffee, no cups, nothing at all. The AC worked, but everytime it would turnnon it would wake us up because it is so loud. They also charge a $40.00 per night amenities fee on top of all the other taxes. This is absolutely bananas. Do yourselves a favor and just stay somewhere else.
