    Spacious rooms. Contrary to what they say on the website, the hotel does not provide a coffee maker in the rooms. When checking in, I asked if they could provide a kettle, which they said they would . We never received a kettle.

    We had a nice stay! Very, very nice to have two Queen beds and to be so close to the action, but, have peace and quiet, as well! It was a hassle to get washclothes from the cleaning staff for some reason, but, I really had no other complaints.

    The property was clean and staff was very friendly. It was in a great location for everything we wanted to do in the area and when we needed to get to lower Manhattan it only took a few minutes to get an Uber. Only slight issues were the hot water in the shower was a bit inconsistent depending on time in the morning or evening. And the air conditioning was not as strong - it was preset at 65 but usually read to be actually @ 73 or 74 which was quite warm and stuffy with 4 people in the room and it being unusually hot (90’s) outside the weekend we were there (6/4-6/8/26).

    The hotel was in a fabulous location. The room was nice and spacious. They didn't have any in-room amenities like tea or coffee. Just 2 bottles of water upon check-in. The staff wasn't helpful at all. We arrived quite early, and the bellhop was great and stowed our luggage. The front desk said they'd call us when the rooms were ready. We came back 1.5 hrs before check-in and 1 of 3 rooms was ready (no call or text). For the other two, again, they said they'd call us when they were ready. We didn't want to be a burden because of course we are early but when we went back at check-in time, they had been ready and no one told us. The front desk staff don't seem to care if you live or die. However, the hotel room was very clean and as listed online.

    The hotel offers free bike rentals (a few blocks walk from the hotel) and passes to a gym nearby (no gym on site). Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the doormen. Would definitely stay here again!

    Location is very convenient for shows, restaurants, shopping, attractions, and transportation. It is also a little quieter and less busy than Times Square, which we really appreciated. We would have liked late checkout but understand that it's not always possible.

    Our stay was wonderful. Hotel is very quote compared to many others I have stay at in NYC. Close to subway and main attractions. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It really felt like a boutique hotel in the neighborhood. Would stay again.

    The bed was cranky when I sat on it but pillows and linens were very clean and comfortable. Lighting in the room is not very bright at night, and I had to individually turn on every lamp lol. Also they advertise a “continental breakfast” but there was none. Just a small cafe where you can use your points but then again there was nothing for me to eat except a croissant and a latte- a bit disappointing but overall if you want to stay in midtown and want to be nearby shops and grocery stores/pharmacies and you want a safe place to stay, it’s worth it! Just bring your own hair dryer

    The place is really beautiful and nice rooms. But functions more like a motel. Not many hotel services. Our room had no hot water but they changed us after the engineer couldn’t fix it the first night. Was okay but I expected a little more

    Great location in the middle of the theater district. The lobby has an attractive boutique hotel feel, though the rooms do not live up to that first impression. My room felt dated and had a musty odor. The lobby fragrance was heavy, the elevators were very slow, and there's no gym. At roughly $450 per night, the overall experience did not offer good value for the price.

    Comfortable beds and nice lighting in the room. Spacious rooms. Unfortunately they weren't able to let us check-in early and our rooms weren't ready at 4pm so check-in was a little painful. No kettle or coffee making facilities in the rooms and no gym.

    Review on this hotel was 9.4 exceptional. However, not quite what I expected. It was bit outdated hotel but well maintained. Rooms big but were much darker than in the pictures. A/C or heating makes loud noise. Only one elevator working so it can get very slow. My bathroom looked clean but had urine smell but thankfully front desk changed the room for me which solved the problem. Staff are friendly and location is good to walk around.

    We truly enjoyed our stay here. The property’s location is ideal for all sorts of activities and its proximity to the subway opens up a host of options away from the theater district. The staff was warm and welcoming and the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

    We stayed at this hotel before and loved it, but this stay was disappointing. The air conditioning was not operating properly. Maintenance came to our room to check, but said it was the main unit that was having problems. We could not get the room to cool to a comfortable temperature. Even worse, the room smelled like wet dog. I don’t think we will be back.

    My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. During my stay, I was falsely accused of smoking in the room and charged a fine despite no evidence being provided. Although the charge was eventually removed after repeated discussions, the issue consumed far too much of my time and negatively impacted my trip. What was most frustrating was how poorly the situation was handled. Rather than approaching the matter professionally, the hotel placed the burden on me to dispute an accusation that should never have been made in the first place. After later reading other one-star reviews describing similar experiences, it became clear that this may not be an isolated incident. While I acknowledge that the charge was reversed in the end and that otherwise the hotel and location were good, the overall experience left a very poor impression.

    We had an amazing stay at the Romer! First off, the piano bar itself, the lovely staff, and the state of our room was fantastic! Sabine, who worked the later night shift, was FANTASTIC! She helped us with anything we needed and made us feel right at home! 10/10 would recommend :) My only thing is we REALLY wanted robes but you had to be in a suite for that, maybe I would suggest that even if you're in a smaller room, based on your number of nights staying you could still get robes. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Great location to Broadway shows & Time Square. Coffee shop downstairs and speakeasy are great, awesome food! Our main issue is the noise. The walls are paper thin, we could hear the conversation of the people next door. At finally called front desk at 11:30pm and they did nothing about it (they said they would call their room but they didn’t). The room was “surface” clean but needed a lot of extra TLC. For $800, it wasn’t worth it even in NY.

    Nice hotel in Hell's Kitchen. The entire hotel is well appointed and maintained. I loved the speak easy/Piano bar - we visited it after going out to dinner. The king bedroom we had was very large for NY standards, and the bathroom, though typical for NY hotels was well maintained and still had plenty of room. I would def stay here again if I needed to be in the part of NYC.

    The room was a good size for Manhattan and the property is in a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room on the 2nd floor looked out onto 8th Ave, and the noise from the road works could be heard from the room, whihc was the only minor point. Some better sound proofing of the windows would improve things - otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

    The Romer Hotel New York has two standout features which are the central location and the generous room sizes. Apart from this the room was very clean and the staff were friendly and responsive to requests like a room with a bath and a kettle. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but I understand this is quite normal in the US. I did not use the cafe during my stay.

    Downsides: No coffee maker in the room. The only way to get coffee downstairs is to buy it. Drinking cups are only available upon request—not automatic. Lots of loud emergency vehicles throughout the night-the windows are not soundproof.

    We are a family of 4, and just loved staying here. The location was perfect... you could walk to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller, and lots of great restaurants one block away. No coffee in the room but the cafe downstairs was convenient and very reasonably priced. Their breakfast sandwiches were delicious. We have teen boys so we also stocked up the mini fridge with yogurts, fruit, and cheese from the Whole Foods down the street. Again - very convenient. The room and lobby had a real retro vibe that we all just loved - I mean, even the toilet! We really enjoyed our stay here - I highly recommend it.

    This is a great boutique hotel near the theaters and Times Square. Rooms are a bit small but that would be typical for the area. There is no breakfast provided and I believe you can use a local gym nearby but it was too cold for us the look for it. Nice place. I would probably book this hotel again in the future.

    The room was kept clean, bed made perfectly, and we were given plenty of fresh towels most days. The cleaners were very warm and friendly each morning, and the reception staff were prompt and helpful upon check-in and check-out. We only noticed on our last day that the hotel offers complimentary access to a local gym that has a sauna, which had we known we would have used (this is covered in the Urban fee). Overall a very pleasant stay in a very convenient location with great transport links plus a vast and varied array of local places to eat.

    The location was great and the staff was friendly - those are the positives. It was very warm during our March visit and the rooms were too hot at night to sleep. I'm not sure what they do with the hot water but getting hot water during our showers was always a struggle. My wife said she smelled men's cologne on one of the two pillows on her side so she was confident they didn't (at minimum) change that pillow sheet. I have no clue why they don't simply raise their nightly rate rather than leaving you with a bad taste in your mouth when you pay their bogus 'urban fee'. If the bulk of the explanation for the fee is access to a gym that we didn't use, simply charge the people that actually use the gym. Just a thought....

    We just spent a long weekend in NYC, and the Romer Hell's Kitchen hotel was perfectly located allowing us to get to anywhere without much effort. There were places to eat, see, and drink very close and subway stations across the street or around the corner. The hotel is clean and the staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed the Speakeasy as well!

    Staff was aware at the time we checked in that hot water boiler was out & unlikely to be serviced over the weekend. On Saturday morning, we were forced to rebook another hotel, for which, Expedia was ZERO help. Wait time on your Customer Service phone Line was 995 minutes — 10.5 HOURS. This does not remotely qualify as customer service. Your bots were also unhelpful. I’m assuming the only way to get this corrected is through Visa. Capturing screens for the complaint I will file.

    Three stars for the location and reception staff. Room was clean and large for NYC. Cafe located in lobby with a pleasant, fireplaced space.Unfortunately room 221 is located right behind the elevators and electrical closet. It sounds like someone is moving furniture inside the walls all day and night. That is not a usable space and the noise level was ridiculous. Even with white or brown noise it was completely obtrusive. Disappointing.

    The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the bell service staff were very kind. Check-in was quick and friendly, which made arrival easy. My only concern was the parking, the website advertises parking “at the hotel,” but it’s actually a third-party lot next door. We had an oversized vehicle that couldn’t be accommodated at first, which caused about a two-hour delay, though the manager and bell staff did help us find a solution. I recommend the hotel clarify on their website that parking is through a third party. Aside from the parking issue, our stay was great and we enjoyed the property.

    Great hotel, great size, great service, amazing room. 1 thing that might be a dealbreaker: The stupidly vague urban fee or whatever stupid thing they called it. Basically a city tax, in addition to the cost of your room + tax. It’s around $40 a night for us if you’re wondering. Can amount to about $200 a week which is the cost of a room if you’re staying that long. Crazy huh?

    Our bathroom (shower and sink) had no hot water and given that it was below freezing during our visit, it was just horrendous. Also, the room heater was so loud that we weren't able to sleep when it was on, so we opted to turn it off and then were quite cold in the room as we slept. The hotel staff were friendly, but the room was so utterly unsatisfactory that I would not stay here ever again.

    Improvements: Need better set up for usb connections beside the beds. If you have 3 people or are staying longer, there is limited drawer space.y daughter and I had to keep all our clothes in our luggage. If you want to work in the room, the plugs maybe an issue, their desk really isn’t made for working on if you need that.     The hotel is expensive when it comes to fees and upgrades. Paid over 100.00 for early check in and to upgrade to a room with a bathtub. The entire trip hot water issues, maintenance tried to say it’s because of the weather and cold water has to run out of the pipes. Never was taken care of. Bathtub was useless as drain plug didn’t work. Bathtub was small. Room had water damaged ceilings. You could hear everything in the hallway and other rooms. Hotel had zero amenities. Would not stay here again. Rip off. Fix your warped walls, pealing wall coverings in hallways. Lower your prices. Make sure your upgrades are worth the money.

    The hotel is perfect! The only thing we missed were basic necessities such as tea or a coffee maker…we wanted to make tea at night but the property didn’t have that or a possibility to heat water at that time.     Had an amazing time in NYC. Romers was amazing. The staff was great. I woman who helped me check in was so sweet, welcoming and very helpful. We arrived via flight at 5 am and check in wasnt until 1pm, but she helped us check our bags and provided an early checkin at 11am. The overall hotel is so NYC vintage sheek. The hotel is central to everything. So convenient to stores, food places and the major attractions. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to family and friends.

    The only negative thing I will say is that it is LOUD. There is a ton of street noise, petticabs with music blaring and sirens, etc. And the rooms themselves have thin walls so you can hear everything in the rooms next to you. That being said, the hotel was beautiful, the hotel bar is swanky, staff was super nice, beds and pillows were super comfy, shampoo smelled heavenly and everything was clean. I would definitely stay here again as I am not bothered by the city noise.

    Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. We love the open area lobby. We just grabbed takeout food so it gives you a place to eat. This is our go to hotel when stay in NYC. It’s close to the theatres, Time Square, lots of restaurants and a subway stop. Fantastic place. One thing to note is there is an additional $40+ a day for resort fees when checking out that I wasn’t expecting.

    This is a great hotel for 3 reasons. The location is close to Broadway, Central Park and other attractions. The size of the room is quite large for the price. And the bed was very comfortable. I recommend staying on an upper floor to manage street noise. Shower and water pressure were better than most. And we enjoyed the sitting area in our room. Romeo's Pizza and the Diner across the street were both great food spots. I wish check in was earlier than 4pm. On a positive side, their bellstaff happily stores our luggage. On your way out, check with them for car service to the airport. We foundtheir service to be betterpricethan other rideshare services out there.

    More like a hostel than a hotel. Fast food in the corridors constantly, rooms needed a proper clean, bugs in the beds (for the love of God, please spray the carpets in the rooms). Absolutely would not recommend and I'm just relieved to be out of there with minimal bed bug bites. Now to spray all our clothes before we dare bring them inside the house!

    A true gem! Stayed as a family of four with two teenage boys. Great location for Times Square, 30 Rock, Subway, all of it. Spacious rooms, large beds, nice bathrooms. Hotel is beautifully decorated with May included amenities. But, the staff are what makes is amazing. Friendly and courteous - every one!

    The staff was the most friendly, wonderful hotel staff I've ever dealt with. The room was incredibly comfortable, exactly the respite needed from the city after a long day.     Steven, the manager was incredibly accommodating Very warm and caring individual. The people at the front desk continually bent over backwards to help me and my wife.     Wow. An absolutely exceptional value. Everything from the communication ahead of arrival, the front lobby (looks and even smells great), the check-in staff (courteous, thorough, knowledgeable), the bellhops (fast, professional), the room size (huge for NYC), the cleanliness, the price, and the LOCATION. Everything we hoped for. Our party checked in two rooms, which the staff was able to locate next to each other. A short walk to Times Square. Immediate access to public transportation. Hotel offers access to a local gym and complimentary time on bicycles. Definitely a consideration the next time we travel to NYC.

    We were in NYC to see a couple of Broadway shows, and found this hotel to be in a walking distance to the theaters, and other attractions, like Central Park, Times Square, etc. The room was very clean, had a nice view on the 11th floor, and the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet in the hallway, and the staff was courteous. I highly recommend this hotel, and would stay again.

    Room was kind of musty, the shower did not have hot water or it took over 5 minutes for the hot water to turn on. The walls were thin and could easily hear our neighbours at a normal volume. The best part of the hotel is that it is centrally located.

    The hotel staff was friendly, room was pleasant, location was excellent. However, like many hotels, this one adds an "urban fee," a copy of the resort fee, which itself is questionable. In this case, we were told it covers WiFi (not needed because we have cell service), bicycles (you'd have to be crazy to bike in NY), and a fitness facility that wasn't even on the property. $40 extra per day for nothing. To make matters worse, we were told, incorrectly, that it was a "mandatory tax" that could not be removed. It is not a tax. It is a junk fee that hotels use to increase revenue while making their rates appear lower. To be fair, I did know of the fee in advance. But this is a practice that needs to end. It only generates ill will. Charge fees for actual bike rentals or, if you must, use of fitness facilities. And at this point in the 21st century, WiFi should be included for free.

    I didn't geta wink of sleep because of the noise. We were placed near the elevators and I would feel the whole room reverberate when it was in use. The hotel was overall lackluster and you could tell it was renovated from a budget hotel. Relatively clean and beds were comfortable, but would not stay again. Avoid room 321!

    This is a good hotel with courteous, helpful staff. However, not very happy with a few items. We paid for a room upgrade, but even with that upgrade (and this property being a four-star hotel), the room still didn't have any water bottles, coffee, tea, a tea/coffee maker, or a microwave. The room was definitely spacious and had soothing decor/art, but for the price (paid upgrade and this being a 4-star hotel), this is not what is expected. The charges collected at the property are also a bit too much (something like a destination charge). So a bit disappointed overall.

    DO NOT STAY HERE - $500 Smoking Charge scam. Many reviews describe this same problem. I am all for not smoking or vaping, and the intentions of the monitoring systems are good. However, they don't work or are intended to rip people off. My wife has stage 4 cancer, and we have never done these things. Great surprise ending to a fantastic NYC trip.

    Stayed at the hotel on a family trip to New York. 6 people, two rooms, older kids (20’s and teenagers). Hotel staff was very attentive, informative about the stay/surrounding area), and helpful with getting us settled and with our departure. The area was close to everything we needed and was proximate to subways when we needed to go elsewhere. Clean rooms and comfortable beds with great common areas around the lobby. The morning cafe was wonderful for coffee and a quick breakfast option, and the connection to the So-So lounge gave us a great option for live music and a cocktail one evening. We will definitely stay here again

    I’m so glad we chose to stay here, and I would absolutely do it again. This hotel is central to everything - minutes walk from Times Square, just about every broadway theater, and about 15 minutes to Central Park. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the view was lovely, and there were so many amenities we couldn’t even use them all. The first thing I noticed was the friendliness of the staff, and every staff member we met from door attendants to front desk staff to cleaners were all incredibly friendly and warm. I can’t recommend this Romer Hell’s Kitchen more highly!

    Romers was perfectly situated within short walking distance to Times Square, the theatre district, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and the subway for all points beyond. The hotel was convenient for everything my teenage son and I wanted to see, but quiet for sleep. The front desk and door staff were especially friendly, kind and helpful. We felt safe, capable of getting to every site via the subway less than half a block away, and enjoyed nearby restaurants & sites. We would definitely stay again!

    Downsides for us: we could hear a lot of noise from the neighbouring room and when people were in the corridor outside. The bathroom lighting is super bright and on a motion sensor - very intense if you need to get up to pee in the night.

    To charge a resort fee for lemon infused water is absolutely crazy. The gym amentity is down the street which holds zero value if u have to go outside in the winter , $550 on resort fees for a week stay.

    I've been to New York 3 times this year, and it was my first time staying here. It's so close to many conveniences and attractions. It's a short walk to the ultra hip Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, which was fun to explore. We found LOTS of great food nearby. I loved that they provided metal water bottles in our room and had a water bottle refilling station on our floor, which we used everyday. Lastly, the size of the rooms were large for NYC standards! I highly recommend staying here, especially if you want to be close to Broadway and Times Square but not close enough to feel overwhelmed by the crowds.

    Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and high style, plus convenient location. Only negatives were that hotel does not have a lot of amenities or services, plus a few basics were missing such as glass drinking glasses. A hotel room should have at least 4 real glasses. The Romer just had 2 paper cups.

    Loved everything about it: Cleanliness, decor, helpful staff, location and more. We were walking minutes away from our Broadway show and fancy restaurant.     Cannot ask for better location. 1 minute walk to the subway station and walking distance to broadway, timesquare, Central Park…. Everything you need is within walking distance. Convenience store, restaurants, liquor store… everything! It was also the cleanest hotel. I’m a bit of a clean freak and always get the icks no matter how well it seems to be cleaned. But Romer was CLEAN! not one thing I’d complain. The bed was also very comfortable. The blinds completely blackout. Even the coffee shop staff, extremely friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to prepare my coffee ahead of time because I was running late. I’m so glad I booked and stayed here. I actually cancelled my second booking to extend my stay here. I just knew nothing would beat this place for the price. The staff were so responsive too. They cater to your every need. They truly take care of their guests.

    The only drawback was the lack of an iron. The hotel provides a small steamer, but it’s not effective at all. For guests who need to properly press their clothes, this can be very frustrating. I would strongly recommend replacing the steamers with standard irons—your guests would greatly appreciate the upgrade!

    Fantastic find. Location, location, location. Just off the beaten path so quiet and neighborhood like with a diner, nail salon, bank, Whole Foods and wine store on the block.     Resort fee is a joke! Nothing special about this place. Also, the entire hotel is over sprayed with cleaning spray to make it smell clean. The minute you walk into the front door the smell is overwhelming. Get rid of the air freshener smell. Killed my lungs!

    The Romer Hell's Angel Hotel is in a great location in NYC. Close to Broadway and Times Square (walking distance) but totally out of the crowds. The room was very large especially for NYC and the staff was lovely. I would definitely stay there again if in NYC.

    The beds were very comfortable, but some things in the room were broken (a desk drawer wouldn’t close) or missing (a jar in the bathroom that’s supposed to have toiletries). When we first got on our room it smelled musty, but housekeeping arrived shortly after I called the front desk and sprayed a cleaning agent which worked. We kept the AC blasting which seemed to have kept it from smelling during our stay. Location is good, having it close to a number of subway stops.

    Romer Hell's Kitchen was a perfect hotel for our needs. It was close to Times Sqaure and Central Park, and the subway, which made it very easy yo get around the city. It was near a number of restaurants, leaving us no shortage of excellent food choices. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. The only thing missing was some place to sit in the room, where we could have eaten a meal, or snacks. There was a footstool, and a very uncomfortable black leather seat. A little table with chairs would have been a perfect addition instead.

It feels really safe because they have a security person who actually checking your room card and elevator isn't going up without the room card.     We booked a city view room through Expedia but were given a rooftop view instead. The bathroom had very few towels for four people, and there wasn’t enough space to place extra towels — the small table wasn’t enough, so the towels ended up on the floor. We also found trash like used tissues and empty bottles behind the TV. Only the hotel lobby was clean and stylish — the rest was disappointing

    Some concerns: It was hot, so A/C was running full-time, making hallways and rooms feel a little damp. No washclothes (just hand towels and bath towels). Bell desk understaffed and slow - often 10-20 people waiting in line to pick up luggage to leave or store luggage until 4 p.m. check-in time, which overwhelms the lobby.

    Absolutely great hotel central, huge rooms, nuce staff, coffee shop, and great restaurant/speakeasy bar/piano bar in house with cool concerts, close to subway stops of the 1 and CE lines, very very quiet for a great location in Hell’s Kitchen close to the park, Time Square and the Theatre District, and the MoMa. Always cabs and ride-hailing services in front and garage right next to it. This is for me a 10 over 10… And I never liked to give maximum grades.

    The room, closet and bathroom was spacious and clean. Being on the 9th floor was pretty quiet. The hotel location is convenient and close to the subway station. Three mornings of playing rock paper scissors to see who had to put on clothes to go get coffee every morning from the lobby was a drag. Not having glassware also proved problematic. The two paper cups we were supplied were never replaced. We had to reuse them for 4 days to brush our teeth, sip wine, and use as bedside water glasses. On our last night, they bottomed out and soaked our nightstands while we slept.
