Rodeway Inn Near JFK Airport

I received fresh towels every day but bed was not made I wish they put microwave inside the rooms for their customers who are stay for more than one day not even just put some microwaves in because sometimes you have things to heat up

Bathroom was half cleaned I booked non smoking room but every time I go in the bathroom it smells like cigarettes smoke

The location is convenient when flying in and out of JFK. The cleanliness as a whole was not great. The toilet had marks, the bedding was full of stains, and there was hair on a lot of the stuff.

Rooms were basic but not the cleanest. Sheets were stained and towels had hair on them.

The room was clean but not fancy. If you want an inexpensive place to stay for the night this will work. The beds are high, I am short and had to use my suitcase to get up on the bed😂. Breakfast is not included but there are neighborhood restaurants around.

We were in the non smoking room but the bathroom always smells like cigarettes smoke whenever we would go out and return the last 2 days we switched to a different room with 2 double beds , bed too close to the doorway but other than that our stay was great

It's still under renovation but beautiful, peaceful location only down sude I explained accessibility a must although it was visible in was chair bound however I has a small tight space no accessibility. It was virtually impossible to use the bathroom toilet or shower unfortunately. I hope they have a wheelchair accessibility handicapped room next time Not wheelchair accessibility or handicap equipped

The location is in a “don’t walk around by yourself” according to the Uber driver who dropped me off there. Wouldn’t have made the reservation had I known.

The negatives: no soundproofing, and the hotel seems to allow people to congregate and party all night in the hallway. Even after calling the front desk people were yelling all night in front of our room door.

was the worse experience i ever had at a hotel in my entire life, room was cancelled without my permission, had to fight to get back the room, then my stuff was put out the room we were given. Came back and meet my stuff near the check in office, seems we were given the wrong room and our stuff was removed. then every day the keys loose the ability to open the room, then i was charged more money the next day for their mistake. Will never go here again

The location was great, exactly what you need for a one night stay next to the airport The walls were extremely thin and you could hear a lot of noise from outside throughout the night. I also did not feel particularly safe in the surrounding area, and I say that as someone in the military who is normally quite relaxed about these things. There were also hairs in the bed on arrival and a strange smell coming from the bathroom which made the room feel unclean overall.

The whole experience should have been better, it was a bait and switch.

Horrible! Paper thin walls, rooms are poorly maintained, no hair dryer, no tv remote but tv is mounted on the wall. Towels had someone else’s hair on it. The bed was hard as a rock and wasn’t able to sleep well at all. Glad it was just for one night only. The room was tiny, AC close to the ceiling, no remote, couldn’t control the temperature. Do not recommend.

It was in the airport hotel district. staff was friendly. Some restaurants was in the area. Others was within a mile or 2. Uber and bus accessible.

I have found hair in my towel, the bed is not comfortable, the WiFi is weak. It has broken furniture everywhere. The check in too forever, I don’t know why but I was also charged twice. It has potential but it needs a serious change in management.

Nothing They took my money and i got the email of confirmation and when i arrived there they said it is canceled. And i was in the situation to not have where to stay in the middle at the night.

This is no longer a hotel. Why is Orbitz asking me to evaluate it? Orbits found me a new place to stay after I arrived on site and was told that the property was not accepting guests. A security guard told me it was a shelter now, as he welcomed teens in and checked their bags with a metal detector wand.

I took a long time to get to the hotel, only to find out that they didn’t have vacancy even though I have a reservation. Later another guy told me that there was an emergency, like I would believe that. People were coming in and out of the hotel and it didn’t seem to be closed.They also said they tried to contact me but failed. This is unbelievable because I have my email address and phone number recorded in Expedia. There is no way that they couldn’t reach me. I have stayed in many hotels through Expedia and have never been in this situation before. I had to stand in the street at night and booked another hotel which was much more expensive. What a terrible experience!

Room felt like a jail cell, colour scheme left the room quite dark, location opposite laundry and reception meant the room was very noisy. Lack of comforter on bed, just 2 thin sheets,heating didn't work,overall decor was tired.

The staff was not friendly. The hotel looked unsafe & dingy. No blinds on the 1st floor windows. I booked a smoking room & was told upon arrival all rooms are non-smoking. Why ask my preference & advertise falsely? I would never recommend this establishment.

The front desk guy was nice. The tile in the bathroom was nice. That's it. I knew booking this motel that it wasn't in the best area, but it was close to the airport. I didn't realize how small, scary, broken things and lack of any type of motel conveniences whatsoever. Had to call the guy to make the shower work and get the blinds down so the people walking on the street couldn't look in. People were yelling outside at 2-3am and the front blinds had parts missing, so anyone could look in. Got there late, so just tried to get to sleep as soon as possible. It was truly scary.

Now not bashing but letting you know the true I work at a five star hotel in Trinidad and Tobago for years as a house keeper and for me the bathroom and toilet needs a lot more hygiene the toilet can be a little more clean, the bathroom walls and floors need some more attention also the bed sheets when I goes to relax I can smell the sheet.needed to be well taken care of some more.

The rooms are very small compared to most places and there tv selection is terrible room size and tv and they want double of what I paid for the first stay no ice or coffee

My flight was delayed coming frim Alaska . It was passed 12 midnight the front did not want to let me check in and said we cant refund you . I was tired needed a shower it was a long trip . I was not the only ine there was also a young lady with same situation. I was so upset that the guy did not care . Until i became a New yorker and said i am not moving wake up your boss i need to sleep get me a room now . So they did . Never again will i stay there . Rooms extremely small. When you go down the ramp there is not even a sign that says entry door looks like an alley to get robbed. I got what i paid for . Total garbage . Room had more furniture than walking space some of it wirn out . Not handicap friendly at all. Just pay the extra 30 or 40 dollars n stay in a getter place . This is more like a hostel to take your one night stand.

This place was way to small. It was a double bed room. The beds were on top of each other, no walking space in the room. The bathroom had no space to put anything down. The sink clogged everytime you turned on the water.

The room was so small there was barely room for the bed. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Pictures of the room do not accurately show anything. No exterior signs showing hotel entry. "Courtyard" nothing more than a storage area.

Only the location... the hotel is so cheap and is not a family hotel... don't go with your son or daughter... is a cheap hotel and of course is good enough for just one night and to take the taxi for the JFK airport.

Upon checking in everything look okay . As I was just about to get settled in to bed I picked up a pillow to get comfortable to my horrible surprise there was blood on this pillow . The man at the window said there are no more pillows on the premises what a nasty nasty establishment

Room was disgusting. Pictures on the site do not properly show what you’re getting. The room was VERY tiny and people were blatantly smoking marijuana right outside the rooms.

This place has nothing going for it other than proximity to JFK. It is run down and shabby inside. Finding the office is like walking a maze. There are no directions down to a tiny, dingy basement office. The attendant was nice enough, poor thing. The room I had was in bad shape. Holes in the wall, a socket outlet that was open, a single thin top sheet and thin cover, both dingy and stained as was the bottom sheet. The pillows must be decades old. There were zero amenities, not even cups or glasses. It's not worth anything close to what is being charged. Avoid.

The room had no heat. Took 3 1/2 hours before it was taken care of. Would not even give me a different room because those had 2 beds. No lamp in the room and TV only got 5 stations. Would not recommend staying here.

My fiance was stuck overnight in NY with flight cancellations. ** The hotel was so dark, unclean and unsafe that she had to leave immediately and find another hotel. Literally walked in and out. She called me crying saying she felt unsafe and couldn’t believe this place was so bad. This was at 11pm. She had to book another hotel and uber at midnight. She has traveled through China, India, Europe, Mexico - on the cheap - and never seen anything like this. We asked for a refund and were denied - despite booking at 11pm and immediately turning around. Many other reviewers speculate this appears to be a prostitution hotel - with people coming and going, very unusual dark corridors. Unlike a normal hotel. I won’t be using Hotels.com or Expedia if this is what they recommend.

Good place to stay before or after a flight. Nothing special, but gets the job done. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is pretty small, so can be hard with a lot of luggage, but not a big problem. Would stay again.

There is no transfer to the airport. There was no breakfast. The staff spoke no other language than English. The reason for the complaints is because the hotel informs that it has all these services, but they simply said that they did not offer any of this during the stay.

The room I was at 203 had no space to walk on. No room for our bags to keep. I had to put one of my bag in the bathroom. The two beds were taking all the spot.

There was no breakfast or shuttle. Dangerous area. Close to airport. AC didn’t work. Would not stay here again.

Only stayed because it’s close to the airport. Didn’t really feel safe there—the Uber driver didn’t even want to drop me off. (There is no “courtesy shuttle” although I checked that as an Expedia filter) A guy was peeing in the entryway. Check in is in a dingy basement.

There was hair on the pillowcase from the previous guest & a crackhead shouting outside our window at 2am. Also, the website indicated they had a free shuttle to/from JFK airport but when I called to arrange pickup, we were told they weren't offering shuttles due to COVID. We stayed here because of a missed connection at nearby JFK airport. The room was dirty, with stains and burn holes on the comforter and sheets and something nasty in the wall by the head of the bed. The entrance is uninviting and poorly lit.

The reception was unfriendly and slow. The hall smelled of cigarettes with dirty floors. The mattress was slightly comfortable but the sheets and bedding were stained. It seemed like decade old sheets just being used over and over with discoloration. There were what seemed like homeless people hanging in the halls and people smoking inside this “non-smoking” hotel. Do not recommend, I want my money back.

Bad- no parking 1 hour looking for parking, entrance hidden and not noticable, rooms very cramped a 2 bed room has no space to walk its you sit or lay in bed or leave room for more space no other option.

Surrounded by lots with barbed wire fences. We arrived late and it felt unsafe. Ours Lyft driver couldn’t find it. No place to eat and I wouldn’t want to walk if there were. Room was tiny, which is expected, but clean.

The Hotels.com advert stated “Free airport shuttle” but apparently this is not the case. The bath water was not hot enough. It was quite noisy. But it was clean and close to the airport.

This is not a cheaply priced hotel at all. We paid $140 to sleep on dirty stained mattress covers. The bathroom had a sticker from fruit on the wall and a car air freshener hanging on the mirror. The smell of smoke overfilled the room. This felt very much like an extremely cheap motel and the rooms are terrible small.

The property was clean. The front desk staff was friendly and accomadating. However there was no lobby area and the property is in a fairly run down area.

I was not expecting much nor any bells nor whistles. I had a realistic expectation based on the price I paid. The entrance could be a bit tricky. It is definitely not easy to locate. Check in process was quick, and simple, and to the point. The room was easy to find. The room was quite simple, and had the basic features, with a rather large flat screen television. Refrigerator was quite old and battered. No iron nor iron board. Temperature was easily managed, and regulated. Room was clean, and bathroom was decent with basic supplies. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean. My experience was very basic, and minimal. I was there to sleep for a few hours, and it served that purpose, as there was no noise issues. Overall, this hotel is not over-promising, and it was okay, but not for everyone.

This hotel is awful hotel … I had many problems started with room is really bad not clean and smells smoky, at 2 am I woke up to man screaming loud and fighting with someone, police came arrested him, 30 mins later alarm went on, got scared came out I saw a lot of water coming down from second floor, called front desk said don’t worry, fire truck came checked problem, alarm countinued and couldn’t sleep, I felt place is not safe and left hotel to next door hotel … Hotel.com shouldn’t be doing business with this hotel

The bed was comfortable but there were big holes in the curtains and blankets. Very expensive for what was offered, which is almost nothing

Therefore I couldn’t stay at a hotel. PROS : The place is super clean. As soon as you walk in the door you can smell and you can see that they clean the place. They don’t have parking on the premises but you can park right outside the building and it’s safe. They even have outside when you’re walking up to your hotel room a little area that is a lounge but it wasn’t open I’m assuming Bc of Covid. Funny but I was in love with the tiles on the floor and I was in love with the tiles in the bathroom and that furniture was beautiful too lol CONS: I would’ve preferred to have a parking lot but I know it’s not possible because it’s A small motel. The wall had like black scuff marks on it but it wasn’t a big deal. **** this is a motel but it’s an upscale version of a motel and it doesn’t have most amenities like a Marriott or Hilton but for the price it was perfect. Super super safe and the staff was wonderful!

Entrance experience feels like walking into a detention center. Pillow had large black stain on it (blood??). Room smelled of smoke. Ice bucket filthy. Absolutely would never recommend anyone stay at this property.

This hotel is disgusting it smells like secondhand smoke 💨 from the time you step through the entrance from the front desk to the elevator to the room the sheets were dirty and full of stains the ice jug was dirty with mold shower was dirty there was a hole in the wall with wires hanging out the room and bed was very small the sink was clogged and that smell soaked in my hair and clothes I would never book this disgusting place again I couldn’t wait to leave

The room that was given to us was on the top floor to the left of the elevator in the corner. The room was tiny. Only one night stand, there was exposed wire. Our bathroom had mold on the caulking next to the toilet. When we turned the shower on water would spew from shower head drenching the floor in water. It was uncomfortably small in the room.

When I booked the hotel, it said shuttle services were provided and free. No shuttle was available. The room was dirty, sheets were stained, floor was dirty. 5 out of the 6 towels in the bathroom had hair in them and when I say hair, alot of it. Not to mention that they were stained really badly.

The bed was so uncomfortable. The toilet would hardly flush at all the whole stay I had to get maintenance to keep coming to my room.The buildings entrance was very hard to find. And to top it off the room wqs so little me and my husband could hardly move around

We checked in late around 7pm, so I'm assuming we got one of the last rooms available. Which was horrible for a couple. This room would be great for one person. In other words It was a very small room. There was exposed electrical wires by the television. The shower floor was dirty and the glass shower door was secured on the bottom. They only gave us one plastic cup. Overall my experience here was just alright.

The hotel was said to have had shuttle service, it did not. It was said to have a continental breakfast it did not. So throw in those extra cost factors it cost me $30 and $10 dollars for the lies! I also was unable to access their WiFi until the morning. On the positive side I was able to rid all my bad karma with a great Obama and made it to the airport for my next flight feeling fulfilled!!!!

The property description is misrepresented. They do not offer a free shuttle. If you call them, they'll tell you that the shuttle is unavailable due to coronavavirus, but, in reality, I doubt they ever had it. And, they never offered breakfast despite the fact that the description clearly states this. The property is rundown and poorly maintained. Air conditioning sounds like a tractor.
