Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location in Times Square, with many guests enjoying the proximity to various attractions and amenities. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, there are some complaints about the cleanliness and condition of the rooms, as well as issues with the breakfast service.
- Excellent location in Times Square
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Cleanliness and condition of rooms
- Breakfast service issues
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Sufficient towels and pillows. Breakfast was great but a tad bit high. Street noise not good on 18th floor. Too much light from 7th street at night. I would stay there on upcoming visits if I'm not the 7th street side of the building. Keep in mind we are a senior couple. this might be okay for young folk.
- 5/5
The location is amazing, its very central, with great views from the bar, and is very convenient. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the water pressure was excellent. The only issue was that the elevators were frequently out of order and the wait times were insufferable.
- 4/5
I had a problem with my room. They put me right next to the exit to the stairs and the door slammed and woke me up. The handheld shower head is much too heavy for the holder so it bends down and is hard to shower with. All in all I enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
The location is in the heart of Times Square and conveniently located next to a liquor store and dispensary. The only Con is Bowtie bar lounge area is not a 24/7 area so you can enjoy the sights of Times Square and the Red Steps.

Your stuff is amazing. Your bartender Stephen and Rafael are absolutely the greatest asset to your business. The front desk gentleman at checkout were very polite, friendly a full index of information. They were a pleasure to talk with. My only complaint was they were having a lot of difficulties with the elevators by the time we left though they seem to have gotten the situation figured out. I recommend this hotel to anybody.

Staff is good. And common areas are clean and nice Mold and stain between grout and caulk breaking between tiles in tub. Counter top grout or caulk missing. Broken cover on electric al outlet in bedroom. Housekeeping doesn't seems to be vacuuming floor on daily Housekeeping routine.

Property was accessible to metro.

Amazing time. Great staff. Nice clean room

Location. Friendly staff. Elevators kept on being out of services. There were three elevators for the guests. Two of them were out of services most of the time. Guests were waiting for elevators for long time. We once had to use the hotel services elevator to go up to our room. It’s a high time to replace the old elevators.
- 4.5/5
Ideal location in the city; the Bowtie Bar had good atmosphere, good music, good service, and good food. Elevators were out of whack while we were there. Cost us a lot of time waiting.
- 3/5
I don’t really like anything
- 5/5
staffs are helpful too. But i feel like when it’s nighttime, the room is too dark, the lights are not enough. we also find the room cold, we tried to turn on the heater, but we don’t really think it’s working. The elevator wait is kinda long sometimes and one elevator at the lobby to go down the ground floor is always under maintenance. I may still choose to stay here in the future because the location is good, it’s very convenient!
- 3.5/5
Location, evening bar available and great staff!!! Sylvia was amazing. Slightly Dated rooms with some minor issues they worked out for us though.

Great stay, close to the hustle and bustle of Times Square and Broadway. Would stay again!

The elevator was not working properly, so we were directed to use the service elevator, which smelled like trash. The shower water would not drain properly when bathing; it would get backed up, remain stagnant, and take a long time to go down. The soap was never replaced. For the $3,000 I paid, it was not worth it.

Location is great. Service is lacking though. Rooms were not serviced — had to call for service and only the room I called from was serviced, not the two rooms I booked. After service, there were zero clean towels left— I didn’t realize until 11pm when returning to hotel, and had to wait for towels to be sent up. Shower had issues and had to use my kids shower one day as it took them a while to fix. Restroom doors do not lock — and sliding door wouldn’t close all the way. Very outdated rooms. For the price, will likely stay elsewhere.

Disappointed with the concierge service. Only present on weekend.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the elevator situation. Hope you get them repaired soon

Fantastic 4 night stay in Renaissance hotel. We had a Lift incident where we got stuck in the lift for 30mins after it lost power. The internal door opened and it just drifted slowly down for 4 floors . But the staff were fantastic. And got us out eventually!! The security and management took our details and when we checked out we were told there were no further charges on our room. I queried it, and asked if they were sure. We'd only paid the $400 holding fee but the lady said again ' Sir, there are no charges on your account'.. Incredibly generous but typical of the staff / Management there. They do do anything they can for you. The lifts are a challenge. Regularly a queue for them. The one that broke on us broke another time. But the staff there made up for that One cleaner we spoke to about the incident insisted we take the freight elevator any time we saw him. And he guided us and the kids down that way twice.. .Basic message from us Sort the lifts out. Keep your staff, they're fantastic!

Great location, friendly staff, spacious room. Would stay there again.

We had a wonderful experience at the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square. The location was absolutely perfect just steps away from Broadway shows, restaurants, shopping, and subway stations. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful from the front desk to housekeeping to the servers in the restaurant on the first floor. Our room was clean, modern, and quiet enough for being right in all the action. We look forward to visiting New York again and this hotel will be first on our list to stay again.
- 5/5
Our favorite property in the city.
- 5/5
Great view from the terrace looking over the city.
- 4/5
The location was excellent That you had to take 2 elevators from the guest rooms to the ground floor which is the only exit. The prices of the bar/restaurant subpar food was high and added service charge to every ticket even with our group of 3. We asked to have a slow drain in our shower fixed and not sure that anything was done. The shower would have to be turned off to allow to drain several times during a shower. The sink was as also showing some issues of drainage. The housekeeping started off great then got worse. One day they picked up all the used towels and washcloths and didn’t leave us with any at all. Then took 20 minutes to get any. We were in a rush that evening to make a show.

- 3.5/5
The location is right in the middle of everything, which is a major advantage. But if noise is a problem for you, this is probably not the right place. The sound insulation was not particularly good. We stayed on the 23rd floor (the hotel has 26 floors), and outside noise was still noticeable. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Overall, I would rate the hotel around 7 or 8 out of 10. Everything was generally as expected. In terms of price/performance, I would say it was acceptable. However, during 3 out of our 4-day stay, only one elevator was working — and it was only the elevator going from the ground floor to the lobby level. I’m honestly not sure whether that situation is even legal for a hotel of this size.

Everything! Location was good for the hustle and bustle, the staff went above and beyond and nothing was a bother to them. The y were very informative and were never too busy to answer any questions we had. They always greeted us with a smile and very welcoming, will 100% be coming back here.

Location ! Theater, fabulous restaurants, famous bars, massive shopping, Rockefeller Center, everything a sort walk away. The Staff was amazing! Room was perfect with a large modern bathroom! This hotel is on Times Square which is exceptionally noisy 24/7 but we heard barely anything from our room and the black out curtains cut all the bright lights. That aside, Burcha, Divina, Tammy, Wilson, and Joe all played a huge part in making this such a great experience. From the communication before the trip, to setting up the room, offering recommendations during the stay, handling my bags, and even the follow-up communication afterward, every detail felt thoughtful and appreciated. The location was dead smack in the middle of Times Square and surrounded by so many restaurants and businesses. Prime location if you’re wanting to get out and just be amongst the energy and people. Tip… walk a few blocks away if you’re planning to get a Lyft/ uber. Because of the congestion, the cost and wait time can be a little higher getting picked up.

Seriously the friendliest staff. Great experience all in all. We spent a lot of time working at the bar area and the gentleman that work there were beyond amazing. We even extended our stay 2 times. We come 2 times a month to NYC and definitely plan to utilize this property again.

Very please staying here. Staff, hotel and service was great.
- 4/5
A bit dated property but still well loved. Staff was so friendly and kind. A couple of things I did not appreciate: First, before booking it should appear on Hotels.com that the elevators are being worked on and thus very slow. This would have influenced my decision to stay here. Second, you are definitely treated as a second class citizen when you book with a third party... you don't even get points for your stay or any benefits of being a Bonvoy member. That's a horrible policy.
- 4/5
However, the hotel must work on fixing their elevators situation. Throughout the entire week that I stayed there only one elevator was operational, which crated lengthy backlogs for a 26 story building. That was the only downfall of my stayed. Everything else was superb. Bowtie bar is a great spots for drinks with an amazing view of time square plaza.
- 3/5
At the heart of Times Square. Elevetors made us crazy, not working properly. Breakfast is so weak and expensive. A bit noisy because of the location so you shouldn't complain about it if you want centralized location.
- 4/5
The experience overall was very good. My complaints are the lack of working elevators making for long waits. I also had an issue over the cost of the breakfast buffet. $120 for 2 people for a buffet without an omelette station or waffle station or sliced roast beef is ridiculous, even for NYC!

- 2/5
Location is fantastic, right in the middle of it all Tourist trap, way too expensive for what it offers; the rooms are dated, there was a dirty towel left in my room in the middle of the entrance. Elevators were a pain, ridiculously slow, they made you think twice about leaving the room cause if you'd left something behind you'd find yourself doing a 20 minute commute from your room to the lobby.
- 5/5
My stay was brief but everyone was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

The staff in the bar and the market were outstanding. The bar staff accommodated our group of 10 on 3 nights for drinks & the view. The manager also told us about Midnight Moments which we enjoyed on our last night. Our room was a corner king on the 8th floor. I expected 2 windows but corner rooms with 2 windows didn't start until then 10th floor. I was disappointed. The window looked into the M&M store, which was fun. The room did not have good ambient light. There were bedside table lamps (relatively dim) and reading lights over the bed; also a desk lamp, but no general lamps or overhead lights, and as a result, the room was dimly lit although the lighting in the bathroom was very bright. The divan was uncomfortable for sitting because it is too deep. It would be ok for someone lying down. There was good shower pressure which my husband liked although I did not like the particular spray. There is no adjustability on the spray itself.

Overall, we had a solid stay. We needed a big suite, and you all delivered. And everyone was super nice, and everything was clean. And the location was stellar for what we needed. That said, the elevator situation was frustrating and really dampened the trip.
- 4/5
Excellent location, spacious rooms, great shower pressure, and amazing views of times square. Things I didnt like was expensive breakfast at hotel restaurant with little options to choose from. LIKE $55 PER PERSON. The elevators was always malfunctioning. We got stuck. Other than that great place to stay
- 5/5
This beautiful hotel has all of the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. The view in the lounge was spectacular. The breakfast was a bit pricey for what they presented, but the convenience to start your day and the friendly staff make up for it.

Every thing about Renaissance was great! Except for the elevators. There were a lot of elevator issues each day. One particular day, they were all ot and being fixed leading all hotel residences to use the service elevator. It was a mess and inconvenient for those of us who had places to be by certain times. One day we waited for an elevator for 30 minutes.
- 3/5
We didn’t have breakfast to the hotel but had a drink at the bar and the drinks were made right.
- 5/5
Everything was great except for non-working elevators which added a ton of time to getting up and down to the room.

Great views!! Clean room and facilities, very kind and friendly staff! I would not recommend buying anything from their on site “store” with so many places close by, as it was extremely expensive! Otherwise I would give it 5 stars!

The bartender that worked the evening of 04/15/26, there were two gentlemen, I dont know their names, however the one im speaking of was the younger of the two. He lacked professionalism and was borderline RUDE. His verbal responses were short and he exhibited no interest in serving me. This was the only experience during my stay that left an unfavorable impression.

Great location, clean and comfortable. I was worried about noise and light at night but it was not a problem at all. One elevator was broken but they were actively repairing
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms and helpful staff. Only downside I can think of is the elevator situation, where only 1 was working while we were there. However, as we were leaving they were working on the other so shouldn't be an issue for future stays. Highly recommend and would book again

Needing to take 2 different elevators to get to your room is a real hassle. There should be a better way. No doorman outside for the cost of these rooms and its location is unexpected. The room was nice, clean, and the bed was good.

The location was perfect if you wat to be in the middle of Times Square and all the movement and people. Good thing is taht once you entered the room, it was really quiet. Modern rooms and bathrooms. Great stay. Elevators were broken and slow.

The location is great if you have plans to go to the theater. Although it is right in the busiest area of Times Square , the hotel rooms are really quiet. All the personnel is very friendly, breakfast is pretty good, with several options. Rooms are recently remodeled and modern. The only thing that I did not like is that not all the elevators worked and at some times of the day it was really busy and had quite long waits.

The staff was very friendly but the whole property was generally run down and dated. The caulk around the tub was deteriorated, bathroom walls yellowed, and vanity mirror was barely hanging on. Only one elevator up to the lobby worked all week. Water temperature was an issue periodically. The last morning my daughter was showering and got doused in brown water.

Very friendly staff. Room are spacious. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Rooms are very loud and you hear sirens most of the night. No onsite parking although it says there is for 60 dollars and valet for 90. They do have the valet. Half the elevators were down through the trip and I had a bad experience on one of the ones that wasn't as the doors wouldn't open. Was there for 3 nights and they never brought new towels or even emptied the garbage in my room. I had to go get them myself and empty my trash myself. For what I paid for these rooms I expected a much different experience

The best thing about this hotel is the concierge Omar. I had confirmed my reservations twice as I needed a special room and it still was not available when I arrived. They did give us what was supposed to be a better room but it was the same as the one in the picture I reserved with one accommodation missing. Then they moved me to the “correct room” the next night but it was not the room I reserved per website so I did ask for the correct room so they did give me a larger room the next two nights even though it was still not the same one I originally booked. Most of the staff was friendly and the room was mostly clean but what made it worth the stay was the amazing service provided by the concierge who truly went above and beyond to make our trip a memorable experience

The location is prime for hanging out and shopping at Times Square. The staff were friendly. Only one elevator was available all week to get from ground level to the lobby. The room we stayed in needs a deep cleaning. The bathroom switch was filthy and loose.

The location itself is perfect! The staff were amazing and very helpful! We booked a 2 queen room and it was a great size considering my other trips to NY which only had limited room to move around. It was perfect! The only downside which isn’t a deal breaker but not convenient was the elevators.

Everything was amazing other than the elevator situation!

I had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel! The location was absolutely perfect—right in the heart of Times Square and within walking distance to Broadway, Rockefeller Center, shopping, and great dining options. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout my stay, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. My room was clean, comfortable, and offered beautiful city views that made the experience even more special. I also appreciated the modern atmosphere of the hotel and how convenient everything was for exploring New York City. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return when visiting NYC again. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay right in the center of Times Square.

Got into room 910 and didn’t have my complimentary champagne, I had to call a few times before it arrived. Then at night I went to turn the heat on as it was a little cold and the thermostat was not working. Overall I will not rebook this location.

Great, friendly check in employees, helpful with getting luggage up the service elevator when there was a big line for the elevator. The rooms were very clean and attended well daily. Location is impossible to beat for Times Square and broadway plans. Great restaurants right by too. Quiet atmosphere so no noise disruptions and heating and air conditioning worked fabulously in the rooms. Definitely will stay again.

The bathroom had visible mold that was so severe I had to place a towel on the floor to avoid direct contact. The water pressure was very low, and even at the hottest setting the water was only lukewarm. With outside temperatures at -6 degrees, this made showering extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, the toilet was not functioning properly, and the walls and doors appeared damaged and poorly maintained. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the room did not meet basic standards, especially for a hotel in this area and price range. The location is excellent, but the condition of the property significantly impacted my experience. I would not stay here again unless major improvements are made

The staff were absolutely lovely in both reception and the Bow tie bar. Very knowledgeable about the area, restaurants to try and places to go. The room we had was spotless, considering we were on level 4 with a private terrace, once the doors were closed you could not hear the outside hustle and bustle at all. The blackout blinds ensured that the billboards across the way did not interrupt your sleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully we will return soon.

I was very impressed with the location and the size of the room. There were 4 of us and it was plenty big. There was enough room they could easily put two queen beds instead of two doubles.
- 5/5
I had a great stay at this hotel, mainly because of its unbeatable location. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Times Square, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and major attractions. I stayed there for New Year’s Eve, and one of the highlights was having a designated spot where you could see the ball drop, which made the experience even more special and convenient without dealing with large crowds. The location alone makes this hotel an excellent choice for anyone visiting New York City, especially during major events. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to be right in the center of the action.

Nice room, great location.

When we arrived, we requested early check-in and were advised to come back in a few hours. We were told we would receive a text message when the room was ready. After roaming around Times Square for about four hours, we returned to the hotel and were informed that our room was ready. We had traveled a long distance, went straight to the room, rested briefly, and then went back out for the evening. The next morning, while moving the trash can, we discovered a dirty pair of men’s underwear hidden behind it in a cubby, along with an AirPod and other trash scattered around the room. This clearly indicated the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our stay. We immediately reported the issue. The housekeeping manager initially handled the situation well and offered to have housekeeping re-clean the room while we were out. However, we were then told housekeeping had already left for the night and would return the next morning. When we spoke to the lobby manager the following day, her response was unacceptable. She questioned why it took us so long to find the underwear, implying suspicion toward us, despite it being hidden behind a trash can. Her tone was rude, dismissive, and made us feel blamed for something that was clearly a housekeeping failure. Housekeeping eventually re-cleaned the room, but it took significantly longer than the time they had promis

Great for those who love crowds and a short walk to many entertainment venues. Might not be a very good spot for families with young kids, but very convenient. A short walk to many great places, plenty of food options and entertainment around.

Location is perfect with great hospitality. We had a good time and comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Bar drinks are also over priced 2 cocktails and an apple juice was $120 that was including service charge and they still wanted a tip. Lovely hotel, it’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at for the views, location, staff are friendly and helpful it’s super clean, and its a lovely stylish hotel, it’s a shame the bar and breakfast is so overpriced.
- 4/5
The rooms weren’t updated as I’d hope. Still had an old feel to them as opposed to other high end stays in the area. They were clean though. You’re in the heart of Times Square so that’s the big plus: location location location. I went with my wife and 3 kids (nothing kid friendly on the property) but the place served its purpose. The lounge area is nice with a great view of all the action.
- 5/5
Best location to be in Times Square with unique views.
- 5/5
Great location if you’re looking to shop and sight see. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We’ll be staying here again.
- 5/5
Front desk, concierge and all housekeeping were truly amazing. Amazing location. Close to everything! Absolutely loved it.
- 4/5
Staff was really nice. Our view of Times Square was amazing but even from the 23rd floor we could hear the noise. It’s to be expected though so no complaints. We stayed here 25 years ago and came back with our daughter so she could see NYC. I think it’s time to remodel though, but other than that our stay for 5 days was good. Location location location!!
- 4/5
The hotel was accommodating however the breakfast buffet was $49.99/ person and limited. The threshold to the door was missing which caused the door to make noise every time there was any type of draft. The hotel was conveniently close to everything and the staff was wonderful.
- 4/5
Our room location was what we requested. Either the entire hotel is due for a renovation, or because we booked third party we were assigned a room that was worn. Our hotel staff was amazing. Location was better than the W we stayed at last year. Don’t forget to tip your service workers.
- 5/5
Spacious rooms, friendly and accommodating staff and perfect location for the hustle and bustle of New York. We stay here every year and continue to love it.
- 4/5
Too many people as soon as you leave the hotel door but that is because the time of the year we went. Views were good
- 4/5
Great room and view. Service could have been better.
- 3/5
The front and bar staff were ok. Not rude, but also wouldn’t say they were friendly. We paid for a city view room and they put us on the very top floor where you couldn’t even see anything. So paid extra for nothing basically. They acted very weird that we didn’t make reservations to sit in the bar/ dining area when they had many empty tables all night. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was because of the cool view of time square from the photos from the dining/ bar area but they act weird when you are over there and won’t seat you near the window either. Maybe if we had made reservations for it but it was a Monday night and there was hardly anyone there all night. Many open tables by the window the whole time we were there. Also extremely expensive. $70 for just two drinks was crazy. Our shower still had hair in it from the people who stayed previous to us. Otherwise it was pretty clean and the house keeping was very kind. Wasn’t a horrible stay but wasn’t great. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Location was great. Nice staff, always a clean room and and wonderfully helpful concierge!
- 3/5
My stay was good. Housekeeping staff was friendly. The only negative was not having my room the night of check in due to a leak in the room. We were given a room with a King and couch, but the inconvenience of having to switch rooms the next day didn't start off my vacation on a good note. The night of check in, the front desk staff was very apologetic and said the manager would reach out. I didn't hear from the manager. The next day, a different front desk staff wasn't as courteous in my opinion. Overall, it was an okay stay, but there are so many hotels inTimes Square that I will stay elsewhere next time.
- 5/5
Staff were helpful and attentive. The location for exploring New York was perfect, central and walking distance to everything. If you wanted to use the subway - stations we're located close by. Rooms were clean, no long wait for the lifts and the view from the 19th floor over Times Square was fantastic 👏
- 5/5
We arrived to the hotel and the room was ready for us.Staff made us feel welcome with any help we needed.

The location was perfect right at Times Square. It’s a decent hotel, but cannot say it’s a 4-star hotel. I paid a lot of money to not have breakfast included. Carpets look old and dirty.

Great room super bed and fantastic location.

It was too pricey about everything. Since I travel everywhere. I paid extra for the city view which I was able to see only the buildings… small room, no amenities. Short staff…felt totally not worth.

The hotel is definitely located in Times Square. The staff is helpful and the property is well-kept. The king bedroom has plenty of space - what you would expect from a typical hotel room in any city, but spacious for New York standards. There is only 1 bar and it also serves food -- and its definitly a cool space as there is view of the time square bill boards all around you, it nearly wraps your view. Very cool. Unfortunately, last call is like 11:00 PM which is odd and ultimately a downer. Then they turn the lights on at like 11:15 pm - 11:30 pm and essentially kick you out of the space. One night we managed to hang out till 11:45 pm. Candidly, this was a big disappointment, and I will look for a property that has a bar that stays open later upon my return to NY.
- 4/5
Great location and clean
- 5/5
Spacious room (for Times Sq), comfortable bed and pillows. Nice shower with good pressure.
- 5/5
Overall I thought the hotel was great. I'd stay there again. But we did not get the room that we had booked through hotels.com. We got a smaller one with a tiny window and odd layout. It was just disappointing.

Awesome experience!
- 4/5
Awesome location as it was centralized around a lot of great places. Currently had some remodeling so that took away from the full feel of the hotel but overall it was great and view from our room was lovely. Friendly staff no matter who you encountered.
- 1/5
This hotel is a dump. It’s also not soundproofed like more modern NY hotels. It’s old and hasn’t been remodeled or restored. It was dirty and grimy. When you close the bathroom door part was missed when they last repainted. There were visible holes cut into the bathroom cabinet for pipes. Behind the bathroom cabinet clearly hasn’t been dusted or cleaned in years. It was gross. Several parts of the hotel were out of order/under construction.
- 5/5
Property was in the heart of the city with great access. Staff were very accommodating and helpful!
- 4/5
Front desk crew, top notch. The rooms were decent size for NYC and decently cleaned. Mold in shower and socks were dirty from the carpet/floors. It’s perfectly located in Times Square.
- 1/5
Poor washroom facilities as well as electrical outlet issues.
- 4/5
Weren’t any available
- 3/5
The flooring needs entire replacements, shower head could be better. Furniture has some stains.
- 3/5
It was under construction so it was just a mess and the bar was closed while we were there that was never relayed to us until after the cancelation period passed, our bathroom tub was backed up so we switched rooms and that one was backed up too lol just not as bad the shower definitely needed a good scrubbing. The location is excellent so you do get what you pay for as far as that goes and the staff was nice 👍
- 5/5
Shops nearby and view
- 5/5
It’s near most of the main entertainment spot at time square
- 3/5
The construction was really inconvenient but the staff did the best they could! Appreciated the security, especially since we were using the service entrance. Front desk folks were super nice and very efficient.

It was very outdated and the elevators not so clean. The light in the bathroom was motion sensor so it kept going off when we would be showering. Staff not friendly, except for the one lady that cleaned our room
- 5/5
Everyone was very helpful. Room was awesome and view was also. Walk out the door and every way you choose to walk you will find something to do or eat.
- 1/5
This is a terrible place. It should not be open for business until you finish renovation. Very noisy and also has a construction across the street that starts at midnight and finishes at 6 am, which makes very difficult to sleep. Not good customer service
- 4/5
Cleanliness
- 2/5
LOTS of construction happening. I wish hotels.com could have a way of knowing what hotels are doing major renovations. I would have never booked this hotel.
- 4/5
Location, location, location!
- 4/5
Good area very central however hotel repairs to the lobby werent ideal and should have been mentioned. recd the wine but wasnt offered the upgrade. in all honesty the up[grade very rarely happens as teh hotel says they dont have availiblity even when checked that they do..they just claim its a system issue.
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 3/5
Hotel was under construction so there was not a place to eat within the hotel. The hotel store snacks were over priced. The other issues at this time was the inconvenience using one elevator to get to floor two. Tons of ppl on one elevator or waiting in a long line to get to next floor was awful. Room was comfortable but nothing outstanding. The positive about this hotel is location to time square. You are in the middle of everything.
- 3/5
Great location! Ongoing renovations in the main lobby were a hassle at times. Rooms were outdated, but had a great time. Great staff!
- 4/5
Dislike renovations construction.

- 3/5
Room was too small ,,, the condition of the hotel was medium to bad ,,, elevator terrible ,,, location surrounding ugly ,,, I would not recommend to any one or visit again
- 5/5
Great location, can be a little noisy from the streets below but thats to be expected. Rooms were nice and kept very clean. Reception staff were brilliant, really helpful.
- 3/5
Very disappointed as the property is undergoing major renovation meaning that it’s amazing bar that overlooks Times Square is not open - we were not advised of this at the time of booking or before our arrival.
- 5/5
The hotel is in a great location in Times Square, convenient to everything! Even during a renovation, the hotel is spotless. Staff were great and always willing to help. This will continue to be my go to hotel.
- 5/5
If your funds allow it i recommend this hotel for your stay...
- 3/5
The chambermaid was so rude. Kept knocking our door and rushing us because she wanted to clean. I wasn’t feeling well and She said she wasn’t going to be available after 1pm, so we just took towels. When we left at 2pm. She was there still cleaning. The next day, she did not do much apart from changing the towels and emptying the bins. We slept on the same bedsheets for 4 nights which is shameful. *The front desk/receptionist staff are warm and welcoming. Brilliant customer service. They are very helpful and also accommodating with a smile in their faces. They help sort out a taxi to the airport.

- 2/5
Don’t stay here unless you want to be kept up by outside noise
- 4/5
Really central location fantastic door crew top floor so not too noisy
- 3/5
Rooms nice, spacious and clean. Great location. My only issue was that there is major renovations occurring on the lobby level and that wasn’t mentioned in the booking. A day prior to arrival the concierge sent an email stating there were renovations. By that time we were unable to cancel. Because of the renovations there were long elevator wait times because only one elevator is in service from the lobby to the street level and it was extremely hot in the elevator. Also some of the furniture in the temporary bar area needs to be thrown out and replaced. As much money as we paid I expected better. Totally different experience at the Renaissance from a year ago when we stayed at the exact location. Will most likely stay elsewhere when returning to Times Square.
- 4/5
I wish there was a lobby with lounge zone to hang out
- 2/5
1. We didn’t know until the day before arriving that the property was undergoing construction. That was annoying. While the construction noise was no an issue I would have liked to know in advance about the construction. 2. Upon arrival it was obvious the suite had not been vacuumed in a while. I could see pieces of new clothing tags in multiple rooms so imagine all that I couldn’t see! 3. The bathtub had many tiny (live) bugs. Not sure what they were, small like lice but I don’t know what they were. I rinsed them down the drain but we ultimately didn’t use that bathtub at all. 4. The thermostats never actually reached the temp we set, it was generally either pretty cool or warm like in the middle of the night.
- 4/5
Bath sliding door hard to open and close mattress lumpy
- 1/5
The advertised City View didn’t exist, several facilities were missing, and the R Lounge — the bar and restaurant with stunning Times Square views and a key reason we booked — was closed for a refit with no prior warning. The entrance reeked of a foul stench daily, made worse by the heat, and on arrival we could walk straight into an active construction site — a major safety hazard. When I raised my concerns at the front desk, I was told the hotel was full and “nothing could be done.” After my stay, I twice requested a 25% refund which was responded to by Joy Kullawattana, Operations Coordinator, who instead offered a small token of 10,000 Bonvoy points (about $90 USD) — disappointing to say the least. The only positives? Great location and mostly friendly staff. Everything else fell far short of Marriott’s promises. I would strongly advise booking elsewhere.

The only problem is that the hotel is undergoing renovation and to get into the hotel is somewhat miserable as of the time of this review: Specifically upon entering the hotel ... you enter a hot and balmy almost frieght/moving area -- there are 2 elevators that are super slow to take you to their existing lobby. Frequently you'll encounter a wait because of this. Those elevators are not air conditioned and also extremely questionable (they jump and jerk sometimes making you feel like you may get stuck.) The elevators in the hotel are a bit worse because you can actually get stuck in them. They move fast when they work but I got stuck in the elevator once and so did another party where they had to squeeze out of the elevator. The front desk did immediately spring into action and call someone and I saw elevator repairmen the next day. The rooms themselves are true to the pic but somewhat dated. The room wasn't totally clean (there was hair in the shower and around the soap dispensaries on day 1 -- also the iron didn't work -- cleaning staff was friendly though/All staff was. There are plenty other hotels nearby and I would generally recommend to avoid this one until their renovations are done unless they advertise an undeniable rate
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again
- 3/5
It was very outdated and surprisingly poorly maintained for being a Renaissance Hotel. I would not come and stay again.
- 4/5
Bed was soft, maybe even too soft as we both woke up every day with aching backs and tons of food options for all pallets to enjoy! Definitely a prime Times Square location for food and shopping!
- 4/5
We really liked the location of the hotel. Very convenient to most everywhere we wanted to go! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Under some renovation, but it was still comfortable and convenient. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great experience with my son. It was a lot of fun. Staff was great. Everyone was helping anything we needed.
- 3/5
I’ve stayed here when the property wasn’t under construction and it was exceptional, however, this visit missed the mark. Renovations forced a slow/hot elevator ride to a make-shift lobby which was a major bottle-neck. There once was a bar & lounge overlooking Times Square that was awesome, but now it’s all blocked-off. I was told by Reception that the construction would be completed fall of ‘25. Aside from that, the TV remote in our room didn’t work well, the rooms smelled musty, the HVAC was loud (summer, so AC was working hard), the sink and shower drains were slow to drain, and housekeepers forgot to empty the refrigerator from the previous visitors. It’s all very nit-picky, but you’re paying for an experience and this visit just wasn’t on-point.
- 4/5
- 3/5
The photos on the site are not what we had. Seemed like AI generated because the rooms seem outdated aside from the tv. There was no iron/ironing board, bathroom was definitely outdated. Best part was being on Time Square near everything
- 4/5
The facility is under construction.
- 4/5
Love the area and hotel. Elevator waits always seem long
- 5/5

Great location, clean and tidy rooms.

The hotel was being renovated which was not clearly advertised. The so-called bar and dining options were abysmal. A portable bar, some snacks/pre-packaged food and few tables that were not cleaned and crammed in a very small space. Your drink options were limited and you could not carry on a conversation, so we left. I would never have booked a room at this hotel had I known about its condition in advance. It certainly was not reflected in the price I paid.

Great location, great bed, great pillows, great towels, i literally have nothing but good to say about this place!

It was good

The hotel was convenient to Times Sq, and was the only hotel in the area that offered two beds, but I felt it was little better than a holiday inn and did not live up to what I would expect from a Marriott and very expensive. I've stayed as the Ritz in Paris for less.

My complaint is the window must be paper thin because we heard lots from Tines Square! Maybe that should that be expected? I’ve stayed where windows much more effectively blocked out street noise. No one told us when we booked the hotel that it was undergoing a renovation and did not have the amenities such as restaurant and full bar that we expected. The shower is my only other big complaint. It was so hard It felt like prickly pins hitting me! And it can’t be made less hard. Only hotter or colder. Bad design!

El hotel como tal esta en buen lugar lo unico la limpieza de la habitacion no fue bueno, por lo demas esta bien.

The power outlets need to be either upgraded or replaced due to power cords being snatched out by guests. I could only make use of two outlets in my room because the power cord would fall out.

Quiet and conveniently located.

staff was friendly and rooms were nice.

There seems to be a lot of construction going on so maybe it will be better after those remodels. The tv and refrigerator did not work in our room. Everything was ok but disappointed considering the price.
- 5/5
Perfect hotel if you want to be right in the heart of Times Square yet very quiet once inside your room.

Great all around

The staff are incredibly reactive with a sense of urgency I have never experienced even in five star hotels all around the world. The staff of this Hotel should be super proud of themselves….guys you are super! The Property itself is very “tired” worn carpets, the lifts are dark and clunky, a blown light globe in one elevator hasn’t been replaced. Pretty similar to hotels around airports that possibly get close to 100% occupancy all of the time. The room and bath room were large for a NYC hotel, an abundance of towels were supplied daily and the house keeping staff were fabulous. Everything in the cafe/conveniece shop R on the lobby level was “opportunistically over priced”.

Really nice property and perfectly located in Times Square.

Overall, it’s a great property. I just wish the lobby were on the ground floor so you wouldn’t have to take two elevators.

I view was priceless!!! Amazing hotel
- 4/5
clean spacious rooms and easy to get anywhere. the street is a little crowded but the hotel is nice.
- 4/5
The hotel is a little dated in some places but we had a lovely stay.

There was no restaurant and the breakfast offerings were limited. Limited bar as well. The biggest issue we had was this the shower. The shower head produced this spray that was so piercing and sharp that is was painful to take a shower. Could barely allow the water to hit your face it was so painful.

So either I can't read or missed the memo, but the front desk clerk informed me it is not notated on anything but my first complaint as a new visitor to NYC is there is no in and out of parking garage so every time you move your car it is a $65 fee and the garage is 4 long blocks away so drop off your luggage first at check-in. One of my guest got stuck on elevator and there is only 2 elevators and it was only 1 elevator 3 nights out of our 4 night visit. With 4 guest in one room I took the side closest to window by air conditioner and the air conditioner duck was clogged which made the pan leak water everywhere my clothes, clothe suitcase and new purchases where soak and wet. No one offered to get my things dried stating laundry service was down yet I walked to a laundry facility 7 blocks away and dried what I could to make sure no mildew, my new purchase items got faded and I paid for uber back. (I was exhausted) No consideration of my things from staff and stated because I paid 3rd party when I am a Bonvey member as well for many years, but when you traveling with someone on a budget you do what is best. Last night out because it was my sister bday and garage was closed by 12pm so we found a spot that was $20 cheaper a block up. Wish I known about it before. Rooms were clean except they forgot to dump ice bucket. The overall concierge got them the 3 stars because they were great and helpful. Add some can do opportunities or own your business moments to make it better staff
