Reviews
The hotel is praised for its cleanliness, convenient location, and friendly staff. Many guests appreciate the proximity to local attractions such as the 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park, and the World Trade Center. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the mandatory resort fee, lack of free Wi-Fi, and issues with breakfast service.

Thanks to Gordon. Very nice guy.

Our stay was exceptional. The hotel is centrally located to the subway. The restaurant associated with the hotel offers a great breakfast. The hotel is located close to 911 memorial. You will enjoy and the view of the city is second to none.

Excellent choice for my trip to New York. I loved the location. Closed to everything including subway entrances. The staff super friendly. The reservation also included two entrances to the attraction of my choice. The hotel was very clean and my room had a beautiful view.

We booked ahead so the price for our room was pretty good too. With a few bonuses like 2 free passes to some of the attractions you’d want to see and a $20 voucher to the hotel restaurant each day we were there. Will definitely stay here again when we’re back in New York
- 3/5
Conveniently located with spacious rooms. -
- 3/5
I had a decent stay overall. One thing to be aware of is the additional $40 per night fee, which applies to all guests. I wasn’t aware of this beforehand, so it caught me by surprise. They do provide a $20 daily voucher for the restaurant downstairs, which helps offset the cost a bit. The shower water took quite a while to heat up and didn’t work properly during my stay, which was inconvenient. However, the staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful, which made the experience better. Overall, some pros and cons, but the service stood out.

The staff and housekeepers were great, but the property was a bit old and had a funny smell. The toilets didn’t always flush. There is not a good restaurant on property. The gym was pretty good.

Staff was top notch- had a run in with Uber Eats, they gave my food to the wrong person at my hotel, but I was able to deal with that…did not take advantage of laundry but I wish I would have…

Room is perfect other than condensation which obstructed the river room upgrade I paid for. Issues- 1) Valet-bellman was on break at 1:30 pm when we arrived, which led to issues of parking on the street and front desk holding my keys. 2) $2 Expedia breakfast cards were not filled out upon arrival and they made me dig out my Expedia reservation to show I had breakfast included the next morning at the front desk and we stood there while she hand wrote out the dates for 3 nights- a total of 6 cards and it was annoying to say the least. 3) DESTINATION FEE is awful plan and was very confusing and ridiculous. I was told I had $20 to use at Bill's Burger or West Bar on site and this would be taken off my bill. NO- I was charged the destination fee as Expedia had said on the statement, but this fee is more like a country club restaurant payment that you HAVE to pay the Destination Fee, but you can use toward food and drink if you remember/can organize . 4) Lastly, as we left very early before 6 am, we were told the parking lot was "right across the street" and we could retrieve our car there, that someone is always there. No parking lot right across the street. It's across the street and then to the right across the street. Just more annoying stuff. I spent so much time communicating with the front desk. I had thought this would be our hotel, which is at a convenient location for our travel that way a few times a year, but I don't know if I will be back. Too many annoyances.

Never book hotels on Booking again. Our friends traveling with us booked on another platform and got a larger suite for nearly USD 200 less per night than what we paid. We booked one month earlier, yet it turned out to be more expensive, which makes us feel completely ripped off. This platform is unreliable.

The front desk staff was not very helpful, and their responses felt unprofessional. The air conditioning panel was broken at first, though it was fixed later. We had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the elevator, and the TV wouldn’t connect to my phone. Overall, the service was disappointing. The only positive aspects were the view and the housekeeping staff, who were polite and efficient.

From the start, the service was unacceptable. We were constantly made to feel less than simply because we booked through Expedia. It was obvious we weren’t treated like “regular” guests. Even the $15 dining credit that was included with our stay wouldn’t be honored...it couldn’t even be applied toward a simple basket of bread at breakfast. On the first day, we called four times for towels and not a single person ever came. The next morning, we called three more times and still nothing!!! We had to go down to the lobby just to get towels physically. We were also supposed to receive certain tickets as part of our package, but those never materialized because the staff kept changing their story about what they had access to. It felt extremely unorganized and misleading. The property itself is decent but it hides its poor condition. The bathroom shower doors would repeatedly slide open while showering, which was both unsafe and incredibly frustrating. One of the exterior guest doors wouldn’t even budge, clearly not maintained. Old food containers like Popeyes boxes were left sitting in the hallway all day without being cleaned. Overall, I honestly feel like I severely overpaid. The hotel is barely holding itself together, the amenities don’t work, and guests who book through third-party sites are treated like second-class citizens. I would absolutely not recommend staying here until they overhaul both their customer service and their facilities.

Checked in around 4pm and couldn’t watch tv on the room because of some issue and later that evening, still wasn’t fixed. A working TV is the least you can expect from a $500+ room in manhattan. Plus the bar closes very early so provided no access to food when we got home from a family party so just not a great experience.

this was perfect for a weekend trip! it didn't feel like a "budget" option, the hotel has a pretty modern design overall and includes a restaurant, bar, and gym which were all pretty nice. the room was very clean but the air was a bit stuffy, something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to that. the staff was really accommodating and the location was really convenient for us. i would definitely book again if i'm in the area.

I like the friendly service when checking in also the amenities the gym and the Starbucks close by. Also the restaurant within the hotel and walking distance to the boardwalk, where my mother and I saw the fireworks. I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like. I was so comfortable and accommodated. My mother and I are going to come back in September around the Labor Day holiday.

Clean, nice modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Enough amenities for the family. There is a burger type pub in the hotel which had amazing burgers. There is also a Starbucks on sight which isn't my favorite but was convenient if you need a coffee. Parking isn't bad for NYC there are two garages, one on either side of the hotel. I noticed a valet type service after I already self parked next door not sure but I believe they use them as well just handle the nonsense for you. All in all It was a good experience. I arrived at 1:30pm granted check in wasn't until 4:00pm. They could not check me in and seemed like they had a hard time getting the rooms ready in time. I was offered the ability to check my bags and to be called once a room was available. The issue with the car park is once it's in the garage that's it until you leave so you better grab everything you need out of your car. We went to the 911 memorial right up the road then to freedom tower. After that to the pub on sight of the hotel. It was now 4:10pm. Went to get my room and it was still not available. After waiting another 10 or so minutes past that they had found me a room. Not a huge issue but the only negative thing I could find with the hotel. Other than that it was beautiful and would definitely stay again.

Overall is good experience
- 3/5
Just your average hotel! Remodeled, aged and dated!
- 4/5
The hotel was good, staff is excellent, its clean, very well situated in downtown New York city, but $14.99 a day for wifi is a little steep.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice, modern and clean. The lobby was clean and pretty. The staff was polite, but not friendly. We got the package including the breakfast each morning...BIG MISTAKE! The food was buffet style, but the offerings were low quality, and made my and my daughters stomachs hurt so bad and we were fighting for the toilet. The coffee was even awful.. like seriously.. it's just coffee! We did not return the next morning, even though breakfast was already paid for, we didn't want to miss the show we were seeing that afternoon because we were stuck in the hotel bathroom again. So disappointing. Also when we checked out and asked the valet to bring our car out we were informed there would be a 30 minute wait. This was bad enough, but there was NOWHERE to sit. There were a few chairs in the lobby, but many people were standing and waiting for a around for their vehicles. All in all it was an acceptable hotel, just don't get the breakfast package, the hotel can't take it off once booked.. you've been warned!

Clean convenient and great service. Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Hotel is convenient to everything we wanted to do
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
There is $30 daily for additional fee for internet and etc.
- 5/5
I very like this location
- 5/5
Nice central point for accessing Manhattan. Helpful, pleasant staff.
- 5/5
Absolutely the best stay. Best location, best price, best size room with lovely amenities and comfortable bed. Outstanding! And the area was not as busy as uptown, although it was the weekend. This will be our go-to hotel in the city from now on. Way to go Marriott.
- 3.5/5
The rooms were small. Literally a box with a small foyer. There were no hospitality personal care products provided. The view was awful, we looked out onto a dirty sub roof. But most of all, they tag you with a 'destination fee' - $30.
- 4/5
This Marriott’s elevators are confusing because half of the floors are served by one side elevators and the other half by the other side. They charge a $30 fee for no good reason because other than a gym they don’t seem to have any amenities. Instead they say you can have a $15 credit in the restaurant and $15 credit in the “store.” I kept looking for a store because I needed to buy stockings. There is no actual store. By “store” they were referring to some junk food snacks and sodas to the left of the lobby counter. Nothing useful or healthy that I would ordinarily buy. GRADE F for merchandising. It’s not like when you go to Japan and the hotels near the rail stations offer you all kinds of toiletries and cleaning supplies to make your stay better. Like all Marriotts the beds were comfy and shower heads were excellent.
- 5/5
The hotel is nice, clean, and in a wonderful area. I was able to check in early so it was perfect. The windows are thin, and I can hear every car, horn, loud motorcycle, etc.
- 5/5
Very clear and intimate
- 5/5
Had a great view from room 2511
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They let us check in early, which made a huge difference since we arrived much earlier than expected—honestly such a relief and greatly appreciated. Overall, a fantastic stay. Would definitely come back!
- 5/5
Perfect location and quiet rooms.

Location
- 4/5
Excellent property. The only negative was the $30 a day fee that I wasn't aware of until I arrived at the property. Most or all of it was for facilities I didn't even use.
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Great place to stay when seeing 9/11 memorial and Statue of Liberty.
- 5/5
Great location! Right across the street from the 9/11 memorial and next to subway stations.
- 2/5
Room was bare bones, dated, and there was loud construction going all throughout the day.
- 5/5
Great location, wonderful staff. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Great place for family to stay
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful, and our room was nice and comfortable. Everything was very nice.
- 5/5
SUCH AN INCREDIBLE STAY! Best hotel we stayed at in NYC
- 5/5
I am amazed on how great this stay was. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The thermostat broke one night and immediately they sent someone to fix it. The service was incredible. I traveled with my 9 year old, and husband, and this place was family friendly. Loved it! Would recommend.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Great hotel if you choose to be away from the bustle of Midtown. Great shopping around and dining options. Hotel charges a daily destination fee that pretty much forces you to consume food at their facilities that I feel is unnecessary. But it's a good place to stay in the FiDi
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Parking problems
- 5/5
It was a great trip. The room was bigger then expected but double beds are smaller then we expected.
- 3/5
Stay was decent. I wish it was more 4 star but it felt 3 star. Maybe improve cleanliness, upgrade bathrooms, get actual queen size beds instead of full size and don’t charge $30 dollar fee per day. Also the restaurant attached to it was convenient but mediocre. Staff was accommodating and nice! It’s just the facility needs a major upgrade!
- 4/5
The hotel is next to World trade centre so if you need to be close to downtown it's a good option. Times Square though was far. I think one cannot help it. They gave water bottles, so that saved you from buying them yourself. Just one tea bag, but lots of coffee. Breakfast only included for 2 people out of 4 of us, so that was a damper.
- 3/5
Poor communication , rude check in and no explanation of resort fee. We were not aware about the breakfast cards that we prepaid for. What a scam
- 5/5
Clean and location
- 5/5
It’s in a perfect location.
- 5/5
Very clean and friendly
- 5/5
exelent location safe and conveniete
- 4/5
Very close to landmarks and within walking distance to eating and shopping.
- 5/5
Excellent! Great area.
- 5/5
Great location and staff, will stay again.
- 1/5
Terrible response from management when we needed to leave early because I was sick.
- 5/5
Comfortable beds!
- 4/5
Rooms are small for the price (understandably as limited space in manhattan). Property is older.
- 5/5
Excellent experience and a friendly staff
- 5/5
Nothing beats the room views!
- 3/5
Unfortunately, not impressed with the rest- this was not near my expectation of a Marriott hotel. I got stuck in an elevator that another guest got stuck in day before and it was not fixed. It was a scary experience and management did not seem concerned much. I still am waiting to hear from upper management to do something after speaking with the manager on duty after it happened. Ultimately, Leni got jammed door open and 3 of us in the elevator were free. We also were late to see Red Sox / Yankee game because of time to gather myself and family ; and address this traumatic experience. Wish all the employees there were as concerned and hospitable as Idriss, Omar & Leni. It would make for what I expect of a Marriott hotel.
- 5/5
Everything was very good
- 5/5
Great hotel in Manhattan. Could walk to everything.
- 5/5
Our stay was good and the staff were extremely polite.
- 5/5
Lots of things to do within walking distance.

The staff always does an excellent job of taking care of all my needs.

Loved it

.
- 5/5
The cleaning staff were absolutely amazing!!! We didn’t need use them everyday but went out of the way to make sure we were ok. Location is so convenient. Close to subway and nice restaurants. Close to Battery Park. Have stayed here twice and would stay again.
- 3/5
Disappointed with room
- 5/5
The hotel is great, quiet very close to a bike trail, subways stop, a nice Indian restaurant, and World Trade Center. Clean rooms, hot water, fridge in room. Our only problem was that at check in I had my husband’s name on the reservation and he wasn’t there, so it took a while to go through Hotels.com to get the name on the reservation transferred. Not the fault of the hotel, but a good lesson to make sure the reservation is under the right name if you’re reserving through a third party. Great location if you’re doing Bike New York. The restaurant/bar downstairs was too loud for us. We used a credit the hotel had given us to rent bikes through Citibike. If you plan to do this, bring your own helmet.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, well maintained, and easy to get to. There was a subway station right around the corner making it very easy to get around. Also, for a hotel restaurant, bill’s was actually very tasty.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Hotel stay was very pleasant. Walking distant is 5 minutes from the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. There are shopping areas around that are 8-11 mins walking.
- 5/5
great place close to one world. very happy with everything
- 5/5
LOCATION IS GREAT!!
- 5/5
Todo fue súper muchas gracias ☺️
- 1/5
I would of rather slept in my truck
- 3/5
It was good, the only thing I did not like was that breakfast was not included and buffet was $20 and not much to pick, only eggs homemade fries bread… not worth $20
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic! They let us check in early and even gave us an upgraded room with a view of the One World Trade Center. We will stay there again!
- 5/5
Great hotel! Amazing location and service was top notch.
- 5/5
Accommodating and kind staff
- 5/5
Very nice, with a good breakfast and a great view of the Hudson from our room. It was very quiet in the room. We enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Suprised that no bath gowns or slippers were supplied.

- 4/5
Very nice
- 4/5
Loved our stay! Comfy and convenient.
- 5/5
Stayed for a conference. Easy walking to many places- food, shopping, 911 memorial.
- 4/5
Definitely a great location and place to stay with family.
- 1/5
For a Marriott corporation who i worked for i am shocked how your customer service has failed. Its not about the money but it is about customer service which the Marriott downtown NYC is lacking. Reevaluate yiur staff Bill Marriott and stand up for your name.
- 2/5
The staff at breakfast were rude and said that my breakfast is only item per person from breakfast menu and since I had paid for two people therefore I was only able to have two items only and get charged for other items. This if you have orange juice and coffee or toast that’s your two items done. Never experienced this type of service in 5 star hotel.
- 5/5
When I arrived at the Marriott Downtown NYC at 8:30 a.m. my room was ready, I dropped off my bag and joined the Conference I went there for. The room was on the 19th floor, it was immaculate, with a great view of the City. The reception staff was excellent and they offered valet parking, my car was there for two full days, at no charge. Through Expedia, I was able to use my points and got an extremely low rate for the room. Excellent hotel to stay at, right by the 911 memorial.
- 5/5
Clean hotel next to World Trade Center memorial. A short walk to Battery park city.
- 5/5
Service was really good from the doorman to the front desk.
- 5/5
Great service! Valet pricey, but overall Great Stay!
- 3/5
The hotel is “fine” if you need to stay downtown. But the walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbor all night long. Every cough. Even the TV. It’s a very old building that the Marriott bought for this hotel. The elevator also broke for several hours. I had to walk down more than 30 flights to go to dinner. I would not stay here again. Much better Marriotts to choose from.
- 5/5
The trickiest part was getting to the property because Google map took us through a tunnel and had to turn around and come back through the tunnel.
- 5/5
Very pet friendly. Expedia summary is wrong on pets. They are permitted and fee is not excessive. Hotel got wrongly screened out when filter applied for pet friendly. Terrific property with incredible staff.
- 4/5
Over overall the hotel service was great. Your bell boys were great however the parking situation is horrible. The rate of the parking is extremely expensive and the fact that you have to pay $75 enough for the whole day if you have to leave with your car do you have to pay another $75 when you come back do you have to pay another $75 so it was not worth parking there when you needed to go back out and you were taking the risk of having to start the raid again also I should’ve had a choice to pay that $25 daily rate for tour traction drinks it should’ve been my choice I should’ve had to pay the $25 a day which also included laundry, which I never use that service. I never use none of the service with the exception of the drinks but again it should’ve been my choice and it shouldn’t of been something that had to be added to the service
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Would definitely come back! Everything was just a great time.
- 4/5
Rooms were comfy and clean.
- 5/5
Efficient check in/check out process. The room was clean and had a great view. I will be staying here again
- 5/5
Short ride to Times Square and Central Park. The room was spotless and housekeeping kept it that way every day. Staff was very polite and friendly. Can’t wait to come back.
- 5/5
Great experience and very helpful staff. They checked us in to the room at 11 although check in is at 4 because we arrived early and they didn’t want us to wait around. Great experience overall.
- 5/5
This property was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy, and it was easy to get transportation via car or train to get around other spots in NYC. The room was very clean and the surrounding area safe. We traveled with children. We highly recommended and will stay again when in the area. Great job New York Marriott Downtown!
- 5/5
Good location, clean, had just what we needed for an overnight stay.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean and friendly staff. But I was disappointed at the service at Bill’s Bar & Burger. Again the staff was very nice but they haven’t been trained at all to be waiters. The don’t know how to serve coffee and milk for example, they just not have a clue how to serve at the table in general. It’s not their fault. It’s the management fault for not giving them a proper training.
- 4/5
It’s a nice hotel in a good convenient area. Nice spacious room.
- 4/5
The $25 credit they offered at check in for bill’s burger bar was confusing
- 5/5
Excellent hotel with friendly personnel!
- 5/5
Only downside was (expensive)parking
- 4/5
There’s an extra “destination fee” they tack on at check in where you can redeem your credit in the hotel restaurant. That would be fine except the food at the restaurant was awful! The hotel itself is fine and in a good location if you’re visiting.
- 5/5
This hotel was in a great spot for our visit to the 9/11 Memorial and the Statue of Liberty. The doorman was wonderful, assisting us with our car, our luggage, and guiding us to the subway for a trip to Times Square.
- 5/5
Loved our river view from the 32nd floor. The rooms were well appointed & very clean. The beds were comfortable and I loved the weight of the comforter. Overall the hotel was very clean with comfortable seating in the lobby. The location near the 9/11 Memorial and Battery Park were very convenient.
- 5/5
The service is excellent
- 5/5
For the price, it was clean, modern and comfortable. Good value!
- 5/5
Great location and great property.
- 5/5
No microwave in my room but the river-view from my room was beautiful. Would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
I liked staying here. They have a $25 destination fee but with my stay they gave us $25 a day to use in their gift shop (which is just chips, candy and food) or in the restaurant that is in the hotel. I loved the location! Only about a 15 minute walk from the statue of liberty cruise and a couple minutes away from the 9/11 memorial. We preferred the world trade center subway which was also a few minutes away and the subway took us straight to times square. The fan was on in the room and even though we kept the heat up, it still felt cold. You have to keep the bathroom door open for the heat to get in otherwise it’s freezing. We stayed over the new year break. We also got a room on the 36th floor (38 floors total) with a view of the city.
