M Social Hotel New York Downtown

Great location. The staff that checked us in was amazing!!!! The next morning we needed front desk help and that person was rude and unsavory. Otherwise it was a wonderful trip and if everyone could operate like the guy that checked us in, it would be a solid go to in Tribeca/downtown.

Gorgeous hotel in such a central location to WTC and all subway lines! I am an NYC local who had to stay due to an apartment issue and was blown away by this location.

The location is amazing as well as the size of the rooms, well above what is typically found in New York. The bathroom fixings could do with ana upgrade but everything was so clean there were no issues.

Fantastic stay in New York City. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the city and reach all the major attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for Manhattan. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to NYC.

We originally had room 5211 which has a default window that fogs up on the right side. So we decided to cut the AC and walk around Manhattan for a few hours. When we arrived the window was still fogged up. So we requested a new room and the staff was generous to switch us with no hesitation. Window was a nuisance because you expect to be blown away when arriving to New York and with my wife traveling for the first time there it kinda took that excitement away especially making it difficult to enjoy the city view. But the staff was great to change our room.

The hotel is in a very central place, easy to reach varies attractions, and the tube is super close. The view is unbelievable, very beautiful day and night. The room was of a good size and it was clean. The staff was nice and there were no issues with elevators or access. Also, the deposit for the room was refunded within a week, no issues there. Overall we had a great stay.

We arrived after a 15 hour journey and when we got to the desk Terquone told us that our room was gone.....so he would have to upgrade us to the 51st floor! We were absolutely delighted. I had booked the corner suite on a highfloor but instead we got a one bedroom suite on one of the highest floors. It really made our holiday. Staying at the hotel was one of the highlights of the trip. Every morning we awoke to the sunrise through the skyscrapers. Below, we could see the 911 memorial and also the Oculus. I had been worried about booking the financial district as wasn't sure if it was too far away. We also had 5 days in the upper west side and looking back, we enjoyed the financial district just as much. There was a subway beside the hotel and you could also walk quite easily to the West Village, and Tribeca as well as to Brookyln bridge. I had been worried about the grab and go breakfast from previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised as it was very good quality and we could sit in the lobby and eat it. Because everything was recently renovated sitting in the lobby was very pleasant. Recommended Beware of the hot dog stand outside the hotel, we got charged 66 dollars for two hotdogs and a wrap with three cokes. We hadn't asked the price of the wrap in advance only the hotdogs. They blatantly scammed us as the hotdogs were 5 each, the wrap and three cokes were 56 dollars

Location was excellent. The staff member who checked us in was very polite and dealt with our room issues well offering a sincere apology. The bed was comfortable. It had all the amenities we needed. Someone else’s stuff had been left in our room and the sink was blocked when we arrived. Clearly necessary checks weren’t made before clearing the room for check in. Check out was farcical - only one person on the desk and a very long queue. Very poor communication about express check out. Slightly random housekeeping - tea/coffee would be replaced one day but not another. Hand soap ran out and we had to ask for it to be replaced which is pretty basic. Fresh glasses not provided so we had to ask for these, which again feels pretty basic. Housekeeping arrived to clean the room before check out on our last day, which was unnecessary.

$103.00 facility charge for NOTHING!!!

I came here once before, the service was awful but since the rooms are great as well as the location I decided to try again but it was the same disappointment. I booked the room for a birthday celebration and asked 3 days in advance if I could have a cake delivered to the hotel and then delivered to my room at midnight and it was assured that this was possible. When I arrived at the hotel and checked in, the receptionist didn’t know what I was talking about and just told me “I won’t be here at midnight”. I asked the security guard who told me the same. I asked multiple times and people if someone can JUST bring me a box at midnight at my room which doesn’t seem unreasonable for this kind of establishment, but apparently it was. What was my surprise when I went downstairs to pick up the cake myself at 11:50 pm and saw someone at the lobby, as well as a security guard, so yes someone was working at this hour, only they are incapable to communicate amongst themselves. Also, when we got to the room there was no more soap which is unacceptable in this kind of establishment. We asked for Wine glasses and I was told they don’t have any??? I mean the service is just the WORST. No effort to help the guests have the best time, no effort to accommodate but mostly zero commercial touch, I told them it’s for a birthday and nothing in the room just to acknowledge and make the guest feel appreciated.

Location very good We booked and paid through Booking.com for a high-floor room with a view of the Hudson River. Upon arrival, however, we were assigned a room on a lower floor with a view of the neighboring building—a room that is significantly cheaper. Many other guests with similar issues were also coming to the front desk. The manager promised to offer a discount to compensate for this mix-up, but now the hotel is reneging on its word. We are extremely disappointed!

It was very clean, perfect for the price. There was a delay with our room but immediately was given vouchers for the bar for everyone in my group, the worker then found me less than 5 minutes later and got us all situated with a room! It was fantastic. Everything was great.

Location was good and the cleaning lady’s on were very nice. The walls are very thin so be prepared to be woken up. Some of the front desk are helpful, the majority are not. Had two bookings back to back, asked to keep the same room and they said it was fine, then it wasn’t. Eventually they let me keep the room, when i get back from work they didn’t properly make note of me keeping the room so they thought i left my stuff so I had to deal with the front desk again. The room next to ours was a construction zone, they revarnished the bath tub on sat afternoon which made the whole floor stink of fumes. When asking for a nee room the manager refused to speak to us and just gave us a different room about an hour wasted dealing with this.was completely filled with fumes on Saturday. Overall, the price for this hotel is not worth it, would suggest going elsewhere.

It is a very nice hotel, beautiful location. This is our eighth visit, it was better than a millennium has much better amenities. I suggest to raise the rates between 10 $20 a room and include some amenities. The room is extremely bare.

I had a not so well check in with one of the staff. He provided me twice with the wrong room and caught an attitude and have the audacity to tell me he gave me an upgrade. However, staff William came to the rescue and provided me with the BEST service. He gave me the exact room i paid for, and even provided me with a later checkout and a complimentary drink. If only there were more staff like him.

Location remodel The front desk staff was not inviting at all. Which was the complete opposite to how we were greeted with a smile from the door man. They never smiled or very short honestly the only negative experience we had at the property. Everything else was excellent.

Hotel tried to slip in $250 worth of storage fees for our bikes with out any notice. Operations Manager was pretty stuck on not refunding but after debate and talking to his staff he did refund all the fees. Overall property and staff were great. Looking forward to going back in the future just will keep close eye on any surprise fees!

Buyer beware - took 3 try’s to get a room assigned that had a functioning HVAC to raise the temperature above 60 F, maintenance after trying to a drain that didn’t work left their latex glove in the bathroom, house keeping didn’t clear waste in the hall for 24 hours, some reception and breakfast ( breeze & butterfly) who were unwelcoming. Some others were very good.

I arrived to the city earlier than expected and was delighted that I was able to get into a room early and drop off bags before off to explore the city!

What a wonderful stay! At arrival we were greeted by the doorman that showed us around and took us to the 3rd floor to check in! What service! Check in was smooth and we were able to check in early with their very convenient and reasonable early check in fee! The front desk helped with numerous questions after we were there for several days! My daughter will be attending the University close by and they helped with so many tips about the downtown area! We also were helped with a taxi for my sister and stood outside talking with another doorman that was a wealth of knowledge!! Thank you M Social Downtown staff! You make this momma feel a little more at ease to send my daughter to University in the downtown area!! See you again soon!!

The breakfast experience was horrible, the staff restricted breakfast to one choice no OJ and only one item. We were embarrassed as the staff hovered over to prevent even an extra croissant. We will never recommend or ever stay again. This was such a horrible experience. Close to 911 memorial

Check-in clerk at desk was excellent. i loved my room. around the corner from an elevator. The internet was efficient. i could have used more regular coffee. the room had 1 reg. 3 decafe coffee pods. tea would be a nice addition to the coffee service.

High Hudson River View was great! Should say World Trade view because its hard to take your eyes off of it! Was sent a text asking if I needed anything, reqyested towels and less than 3 minutes later they were at my door!

Amazing views over the WTC, Great location and really nice rooms. Bedrooms all re done and bathrooms have had a facelift. Staff - bit slow to respond to any queries. The Whatsapp number given as a contact to reception in the room - nobody ever replied! Lifts crazy busy

I have to admit I was disappointed. The check-in process would have been far more seamless if the elevators were working. Because this property is located in an area where parking is limited, my husband parked while I waited to check in and go to our room. The lines to board one single elevator were so long that it was over 45 minutes before my husband reached the room and he only made it because a staff member scurried a bunch of very annoyed patrons into a service elevator. Also, no matter what setting the heat was on, the temperature kept rising and we could not sleep because it was so hot. Finally, unfortunately, our shower had very low water pressure as well. We expressed all of our concerns at check out and were told "oh you had the NICE room, have a nice day" so I sent an email requesting to be put in touch with the GM on the spot. The restaurant was eh, the quality of the chicken seemed to below my expectations. The short rib was so greasy that my husband just couldn't eat it, but our waitress Kendall was incredibly sweet along with the nice man that checked us in as well, he gave us 2 complimentary drinks. On a positive note, the staff was generally kind, this hotel is very reasonably priced, trendy, in an awesome location and has really breathtaking views!

Lovely hotel, amazing view on the high levels. We knew it was downtown and in the business district close to the WTC. This area feels safe and cleaner in general to the busier midtown. We were very pleased with the room in general, good size, good condition and modern styling. Our view was amazing. The hotel had a modern busy feel and safe although we didn’t use the amenities like eating or leisure in the hotel. There are many places to stay in NYC but we would recommend this one and definitely consider staying there again.

Lovely hotel, amazing view on the high levels. We knew it was downtown and in the business district close to the WTC. This area feels safe and cleaner in general to the busier midtown. We were very pleased with the room in general, good size, good condition and modern styling. Our view was amazing. The hotel had a modern busy feel and safe although we didn’t use the amenities like eating or leisure in the hotel. There are many places to stay in NYC but we would recommend this one and definitely consider staying there again.

Offered us a meal in the restaurant, which again we declined. Said I wanted a reduction as the room I was in was cheaper, so was told he would remove the resort fee and GIVE a free later check out. The hotel is recently renovated, however one of the lifts there were wires hanging were I assume the security camera should’ve been. Hardly slept due to the noise, even had to call security as people were having an argument in the hall at 2am! (I say security- but basically a guy playing on his phone in reception with earbuds in…) Eventually we checked out and I found I was still being charged the resort fee. Despite getting this checked and confirmed THREE times during our stay! Eventually I was told this was removed AGAIN! And that NO FEE for late check out would be charged! I have now received my bank statement and I have STILL BEEN CHARGED despite having a receipt showing a lower value!! DO NOT RECOMMEND WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN

We were not informed of the $10/day for food and Bever before hand, door man sees older women struggle to open the door and just turns his back instead of helping, otherwise love the location, hotel was clean and have all amenities necessary.

Would definitely book here again. The area was beautiful and the streets were calm and quiet compared to all the noise and people in upper Manhattan

I have got a room on 41st floor with the perfect view of WTC. I could just stare at that view the whole day. The room itself was very nice. Only there was a bit musty smell in the shower but it wasn't that strong that I had to complain. The front desk staffs are very nice. I like that the location is very central but not too busy that I hear noises of the street in my hotel room. Highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were very welcoming. The view was incredible. The bed was comfy. The area was very convenient for transportation. The only down part was that the shower pressure is horrible ! Also the elevator broke for most of the time we were there so we had to use the workers elevator which was in poor looking condition.

Hotel advertised as recently renovated. Guess that applies to the rooms only as the entire stay the elevators were down and had water entry into one unit. I would state this to be the worse hotel stay in my 20 years of any hotel. Every patron was stuck floor by floor up and down packed into an elevator every day of our stay. Had to walk 30 plus floors multiple times. Despite asking the staff to man an employee or 3rd party with an override to empty the elevators when full the staff ignored the feedback and took no actions towards a solution. This only reflects on Hotel Mgmt not being involved with solutions over a bad issue. The staff wanted to treat it like a god event that couldn't be controlled. This only reflects more poorly as elevators if properly maintained do not have these issues. The staff was vague with intent on the issue. Why you would have staff standing around and not have a fulltime elevator operator in every unit running to empty patrons as quickly and efficiently as possible until resolution was in place shows a lack of thinking and leadership by the mgmt team to mitigate this issue. Due to waiting for 30 min and than walking 44 flights of stairs down my wife and ran late to a show in New York simply because we could not get down the building. I will be providing letters to this hotel company formally. In 20 years of travel I have never left a poor review. The lack of problem solving and communication by this staff was horrible. I highly recommend avoiding.

The first room they gave me wasnt cleaned and the second one the ac was broken. They made it up to me by giving me an upgraded room and it was worth the hassle. The room was on the 52nd floor and I seen the Hudson river and it had two floor to ceiling windows. It's also in a tourist section: Right in front of the world trade center. I'd stay again

The hotel has been renovated very well, the decor and facilities are excellent. I used the gym twice, very happy with my experience there. The new lobby being on the third floor is very weird, but it actually is much better for hanging out after check out than if it were accessible from the street so it is a great improvement. There needs to be a hand soap pump in the sink of the hotel room. Both pumps were lotion, so I had to use the bath wash pump in the shower. The worst new feature is that if you pick up the phone to call the front desk, you get an AI chat assistant, which does not work, kept glitching, and required me to go down to the front desk to tell them personally what I needed anyway. Turns out there is no way to contact the front desk directly by way of the phone in the room. That is a atrocious and incredibly simple thing a nice hotel like this should do.

I booked a room with a high-floor panoramic view of the Brooklyn Bridge for a birthday celebration, but the room wasn’t available when I checked in. I ended up with a small window and a partial view, which was disappointing after hiring a decorator and planning everything. The staff was very nice and offered breakfast in bed and two complimentary drinks, but overall the experience didn’t match what I expected.

I would love to stay here at M Social Downtown again! Wasn’t enough to take off a star so I still gave a 5/5 just be careful with room service. We were charged for and was brought extra things. I didn’t feel like complaining but I would just go over everything before hanging up the phone. Other than that the view was great like amazing. Fulton St is the better side for a uber! Definitely was a good stay!

What a great stay! We LOVED the views from our 51st floor room! It’s like you can just stay in the room and enjoy them views all day AND all night long! Staff were also very friendly! Room was available earlier than check in to which we were happy about! Great location!

Quiet (at night especially) because it’s the financial district, rather than touristy Midtown. Bed was great and we enjoyed good nights sleep and awoke refreshed. Shower had great pressure and water heated up fast. Tub liner and bathroom door hinges could use a refresh but were not terrible and were clean, just showing their age. Carpet and paint were new. Bathroom tile is original to the building but was in acceptable shape. Elevators were fast and efficient. They appeared newly decorated. We would stay here again.

We were there for the grand reopening and had THE BEST TIME! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The room was nice, spacious for an nyc room, and clean! The local stores are great. We had the best time!

My only complaint and it's not really a complaint but an observation was that the window in my room which was cracked. Could have been that a guest had a rowdy night and tried to throw a chair through the window but I just though it was odd. It was a great experience overall and Im looking to come back to the hotel the next time I am in town for a family trip.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect with transportation being easily accessible. Whether walking to get food or taking the subway to your next destination. The staff were very welcoming. When we arrived we were greeted and also received a free upgrade to a junior suite. The views were INSANE! We had a view of the city and the Hudson River. We wish our trip was longer. We will definitely be back to stay here. Thanks again M!

The location was great. Shops, restaurants, subway lines nearby. Quiet at night for sleeping.

Elevators were constantly down which makes you wonder if the staff does this on purpose to make dealing with people less frequent, not that many people were bugging them to begin with. 6/10 not bad but not great the room view did the heavy lifting also cleaning staff was in point.

They sold my room. The staff was very angry and frustrated with all the clients people were getting stuck in elevators. The rooms were messy and not clean. Things were not working. It took forever to get anything done.

This hotel is newly renovated so the rooms are in excellent condition and they have great amenities (fridge, make up light, coffee service, pillow variety). Super convenient area with great views of Fido. Only caveat, for a limited time, there is no restaurant or bar on site (there is a small temporary bar service). That will change soon however.

My stay at M Social downtown was great! Loved the room! Felt like a beautiful mini apartment with a really cool view. There are a lot of things close by, such as shopping, food, etc. I highly recommend staying here.

Just had and issue with my room, and the first staff member did not help me at al,l just stood there, but the second one that I asked resolve the problem in less than 5 minutes. Very grateful to him.

Stay there on a 4 day trip. The front desk concierge Petra was absolutely amazing every time we interacted. She did her best to accommodate my preferences and went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed my stay. She was the best part of my stay. The view from the room was amazing. However bar closed early, I couldn’t find many options for food after 10pm. All in all this was a good stay. Thanks again Petra.

Location. Vibes. I noticed some renovations happening downstairs in main floor lobby… can’t wait til it’s finished. Definitely will be back!!

First off, when I booked the room, I booked for a deluxe corner room with a city view. They gave me a room on the 8th floor out of the 55 floors they have with the worst city view possible. I literally seen nothing but the sides of low built buildings. Mind you I paid $1,000 for this room. When I got there a surprise security deposit fee of $450 had to be collected for incidentals … ok fine whatever it was paid. After I checked out, I checked my card 2 days later to see if the $450 was back on there and they only gave me $296 back. They said they charge $163 for a facility fee, WHICH WAS NEVEERR MADE KNOWN TO ME AT CHECK IN, to cover the gym and two bottles of water they put in the rooms. Mind you I never even used the gym or anything. All I have to say is that this hotel is a damn money hungry hotel. Just be aware of this.

This property is basically a lot of fun; there's a lot going on in the area and the rooftop is great for getting a drink and watching the sunset. The rooftop is closed Monday and Tuesday, however. The rooms are quite small however.

Booked this hotel and an hour later tried to cancel because they lied about parking and would not give our money back.

Overall could have been great experience. Hotel has rooms with very spectacular views. I would put 5 star, but hotel end up double charging us for breakfast which also had very low quality. Staff at reception was misleading to say the least.... and phone call post stay also never helped. Fridge wasn't working in one of the rooms we have booked (minor for us), breakfast quality terrible (never should have taken), communication with staff, well let's say could be better (better to keep minimal if won't to avoid confusion), otherwise excellent place to stay. Loved: free water, laggage could be left longer for "free" even after checkout, room cleaning excellent, view from room fantastic, room amenities good, overall positive experience if excluding breakfast related part.

This hotel was right next to the Oculus with easy access to taxis and subway. Also it was close to many NYC attractions and the Hudson River.

It was truly an amazing experience! The luxury suite was absolutely unbelievable! The front desk staff Terquone, Mike and Kayla were professional, knowledgeable and simply the best!

The property was very nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Most all the staff was kind and friendly! There was only one problem, the air conditioning. It was running the entire time we were there and never cooled the room. It is July in NY and was beastly hot. But everything else was really great and price was very competitive. Right outside the door is anything you need even two Walgreens! There is a mall with subway and trains. Great location!

The room service is very bad, the horrible cleaning I found hair on top of the drive where I slept, the hair is blonde and I have dark hair, my check-in was 4pm and I arrived at 7pm, but the room was not ready, I had to wait for more than 1 hour.

A great downtown option in Manhattan with access to subway and PATH trains directly outside the hotel. Walking distance to southern manhattan tourist attractions and the ferries/islands. Our high floor room had sensational views of One World Trade Center and the Hudson - the family room was adequately sized and staff were courteous and helpful.

I was told the rooms were face to face to help us - they were far away.

When we checked in their network went down and it took a long time to fill out paperwork and another hour or so to get keys. Somehow it was still down until the next day. The lobby was also under construction getting in and out of the hotel cartoonishly uncomfortable having to wrestle your way in and out of a tiny hallway in the garage. Both room keys stopped working at all elevators but 1. It just seems a busy touristy area and I'm sure their room will always be full but beware you might get annoyed with nothing working and no one seeming to give a crap. Should hotels under construction at least mention that prior to reservation? Amazing views from our suite though.

Shower cietsin smelled of mildew so bad, the room smelled. AC kept the room at a balmy 73 degrees andb72% humid. Not comfortable. The entry doors slam shut on every room. I mean very loud.

My stay was generally ok, everything was as advertised for the most part. The internet needs work as it was cutting out periodically and didnt seem that fast. Could have been just my room though. The TV provided was locked to a single input. If we pay what we pay to stay at a hotel we should be able to what we want with the TV outside of breaking it or changing physically. Please allow other inputs to be used, not just for families but adult couples who dont watch cable.

This property is perfectly located. The rooms are excellent and i would recommend it. For us, given the price paid, walking into a construction zone didn't do it. We understand renovations are necessary from time to time, but we can only talk about our experience in a moment in time...

If you want to be in lower Manhattan across from anything World Trade Center--this is the ideal location, but, the hotel is going through renovations, that we were not notified of, so, there is no restaurant no full bar, the housekeepers didn't really do a full clean the water pressure was horrible and elevators at certain times were crazy.

The stay was good, staffs were accommodating and well behaved, the price is on the higher side can be kept low.

I have stayed at both ethe downtoewn and Times Square Millenium hotels multiple times...I don't know what happened since I was last there a year ago but...The manager tried to accomodate me..but I basically had to hang on a bench outside with the homeless people because my air conditioning wasn't working on the 4th of July...on the whole 21st floor...which was HOT considering glass windows!

Overall great place to stay. Very close to subways, shopping and restaurants. If you don’t like the crowds like Times Square but still want the same vibe and less crowds this is your place. Staff was friendly and prompt.

Millennium Hotel is in the heart of the 911 Memorial. Walking distance from the Oculus, shopping and subway transportation. Our room was a junior suite and our view was to die for. Can’t wait to stay here again.
