Reviews
The hotel is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, and clean rooms. However, some guests found the rooms to be small and dark, with no natural light. The breakfast is also mentioned as being overpriced and not included in the room rate.

Was visiting NYC for a conference and so glad I picked LUMA! Location was very central and super easy to go anywhere with all the subway lines nearby. Staff were super helpful anytime I needed something too. Will be back!

Very clean and with excellent location. Staff is very welcoming. Will stay here again. Recommended

Great stay in Times Square! Perfect location, close to all the things but was quiet in the room. Two king beds was awesome for family vacation. Would definitely stay there again. We went to the dosa place next door three times, it was so delicious!

The Luma Hotel was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Between the amazing staff, the clean comfortable rooms, and the location - we couldn’t have picked a more perfect hotel. We will definitely be staying there again!

Our stay was wonderful! We were high up so we didn't hear any noise at all. There was a white noise machine provided if you did like that. Always clean even if we were just gone for a quick breakfast, our room would be clean when we got back. Great friendly service.

The staff were very helpful. The hotel location is great The room is not sound proof and in one of the nights people talked in the hallway and I heard them
- 4/5
Would I stay there again? Yes. But I'd check the gym situation before booking. Or look on the app PureGym.

The hotel's location is close to the Time Square area, the hotel is clean, and the restaurant staff are friendly. The room had a poor view and was located on the service floor. The receptionist was generally unresponsive. The breakfast was good, but the selection was very limited compared to other hotels of similar value and location. There were no events or activities at the hotel.

The hotel was centrally located to all the sights in Manhattan. We walked everywhere. The room was large, clean and very functional. It is a boutique hotel and didn't have many food or drink options.

Comfortable beds, room size was reasonable for 4 people using 2 king beds. Bathroom was nice but would love to see more water pressure. And loved the blackout curtains. Cleaning staff was excellent. Shower water pressure and the lobby was a bit on the cold side.

The staff went above and beyond by assisting us with parking and baggage when the road to the hotel was closed due to a street fair that we were not aware of. The Aperi Bar had fantastic service and exceptional food!! We are still thinking about our meal days later. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet with all the amenities needed. Highly recommended!

I spilled my coffee on my bed and they treated it like no big deal and had all new sheets on the bed in no time. Top notch in my opinion. And the location by Bryant Park is phenomenal. We were also able to walk to Rocky Horror at Studio 54.

Convenient and easy The cost but all hotels are overpriced right now. 4.5 star price and basically 3 star hotel.

The 2 King size beds in the same room were outstanding for a family. Really a treat to sleep on after a long day sightseeing. The decor was clean and modern in the rooms and in the dining room. The hotel's photos are exactly what you see in real life. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating. The hand held shower wand in the shower was also a nice touch. As for location to other things, there is a nice selection of Bagel shops and bakeries near by. Also a Whole foods and a nice wine shop around the corner. I really wanted to not be bothered by the street the hotel resides on but since we were there for a vacation, I have to say that the constant delivery trucks and vans parked on the street day and night was a blight to look at and hear every time we walked out. The street where the Luma front door is located is the back loading zone for a Whole Foods grocery store and other businesses that are on these two blocks. If this were a business trip I would not have been bothered by it. But since we were on Vacation, it brought down the niceness of the hotel property in my opinion.

Wonderful location and upgraded amenities. Great staff at the front desk and bar/cafe - nice to be able to hang out in the bar area to have a drink and excellent coffee cafe right next door. We love Luma SF and now Luma NYC!
- 5/5
This hotel is perfect for your NYC stay. It’s close to all the tourist spots and lots of local eateries close by. The check in was fast, staff friendly and knowledgable, room was a good size for 3 adults. Lovely amenities in the room like tea, coffee, toiletries, robes and slippers. Highly recommend to all.

The location-- Walkable to most things and actually easier to walk rather than drive. Close to lots of restaurants and The Fresh Market. The staff-- friendly and polite
- 5/5
We chose this hotel based on previous ratings and the location. It definitely lived up to our expectations and we would return in a heartbeat. Jun a really fun vibe right in the middle of all the fun. The staff was great and the rooms were plenty big for our party of 4. Also, a 3pm check in and noon check out was a huge benefit for us!
- 5/5
The location was great walking distance to Broadway and restaurants that cater to the show times. It was literally across the street from Bryant Park.We enjoyed a free concert in the park. The bar and the bar staff were extremely were helpful and social. nothing..

Great location close to lots of subway lines. The room was very clean and well stocked. The double king beds were awesome. If you booked directly through their hotel website instead of Hotels.com, you get a $50 credit.
- 3/5
But we could hear each time someone flushed their toilet, and it didn’t have double windows so the street noise was terrible. The door to the room had a huge gap underneath so we had to put a towel there to block out the light from the hallway. It was expensive and I wouldn’t stay there again
- 3/5
The location, and the housekeepers were lovely. Oh there’s a Dyson hairdryer. When you arrive, they’re just kind of like “hey.” Not exactly a warm welcome. The elevators have a mind of their own. There’s no gym or rooftop and the restaurant has odd hours. And even for NY, our room was ridiculously tiny. When the couch bed is extended, it literally touches the other bed so to get from one side of the room to the other, you have to crawl over two beds. Definitely not for families

The location close to Times Square is a major plus, but what really stands out is the staff. Not a single disappointing encounter, quite the opposite. Only friendly people, helping and supporting. The most memorable encounter was inside the lift. We headed out to get some New York Pizza, and a Staff member gave us a list of recommendations within walking distance. That's excellent service, exceeding any of our expectations. The rooms are also huge, comfy, and quiet. We will stay here whenever we are in New York. If I had to pick something, it would be the choice of amenities. While the products are good, the packaging is not. The caps are a bit hard to handle if you take a shower. But that's really nitpicking.

Everything ! I was in town for a business conference! 10/10 staff, location and the cleanliness of hotel! Highly recommend!
- 4.5/5
The staff here is amazing! Everyone at the front desk went above & beyond. The gentleman who ran the breakfasts during the week went out of his way to ensure we were happy. I loved all the extras in the rooms like the makeup mirror, Dyson hair dryer, robes, and white noise machine. Bonus that we got to keep the slippers! The only downside was the view from our room, which just made it feel dark and dreary. We could never tell what the actual weather outside was and opening the shade felt a little creepy. That wouldn’t stop me from staying here again though & hoping for a room on a different side of the hotel.
- 5/5
The staff was helpful & friendly. The room was a good size & comfortable. We felt safe staying here. I have no complaints
- 5/5
My only issue was the ceiling leaking in the bathroom but was corrected very quickly
- 5/5
Our room was very clean and quiet. The hotel is located in a great and central location. Within walking distance from many popular places in Manhattan.
- 5/5
Best hotel I have stayed in.!

Not sure if there were bed bugs but one of our beds was pretty bad and caused a lot of itching and scratching for whoever slept in it
- 5/5
My husband and I took a quick weekend trip. We had a lot of fun at the Luna Hotel the staff, bar, and restaurant was amazing.
- 5/5
Was a wonderful stay, with attentive staff that went above and beyond when something was left behind. Clean, quiet and a great location!
- 5/5
The location to Times Square and surrounding areas was fantastic! It was right off the beaten path which made it convenient to pop back into the room to recharge. The staff were super friendly and the room was clean. The elevator music was awesome too! Great hotel for families. Nothing
- 4.5/5
Location, very nice rooms, friendly staff
- 5/5
Great hotel. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean quiet room with 2 comfy king beds in a GREAT location for exploring the city. The urban view (brick wall view) room was so quiet for resting at night, which was great for us. If you go for a plaza view, not sure what you'd be seeing besides other buildings on the street anyway. The hotel is just steps off the beautiful Bryant Park which sits in front of the NYC library. Many iconic locations were in walking distance and for further sites subway stations were easy to access. As first time visitors to the city, we found this location to be a great hub for our adventure.
- 5/5
The restaurant did not live up to its high reputation.
- 5/5
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one was really good and stuff is nice and perfect location
- 5/5
We originally asked for a high floor not by an elevator and the quietest room. We got to our room on a somewhat lower floor right next to the elevator. Anthony kindly changed us. Unfortunately there was construction downstairs at 7a.m. and then the night club across the street so we moved to room 1506 the next day. Just that mentioned above
- 5/5
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- 5/5
Great location! Staff were very friendly excellent stay!
- 4/5
A/C didn’t work so they changed us to a different room after the first very hot night. The did offer breakfast comped for the trouble, but we didn’t use them. Other than that, the stay was great.
- 4/5
The location was super, the room was small but good enough & clean. We were on the 3th floor (1st floor with rooms) facing 3 inside walls from adjacent buildings close by. The fan & AC on the roof just outside the bedroom was very noisy. I guess a higher room at the street side would be perfect.

Los chicos de recepción son todos muy atentos y simpáticos. Muy prácticos ante una inquietud. Volvería.

Location was fantastic, staff were friendly and helpful, room had everything we needed! Happy hour was nice as I could bring a drink up to the room and food wise, we only tried one item but it was great (pasta). Would definitely return!

- 5/5
This hotel is an easy walk from the train station. Staff is super friendly and helpful! The beds are comfortable and the showers have excellent water pressure. There is a bakery on the corner that has awesome pasteries. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Great stay. Thanks we will be back!
- 5/5
Centrally located, great staff, wonderful place to stay!
- 5/5
Everything is well prepared for our visit. The AC works well, the staff is courteous and well informed, and the amenities were more than adequate. It is quite affordable, considering that it is located in .5 block from Times Square. On our last night we needed extra amenities, and they were brought to us within a couple of minutes.

- 5/5
Loved our stay!! Perfect location for tourists, very safe and quiet in the rooms, and steps away from the subway station that connects you to everything. We had a few requests that were answered very quickly, staff was awesome.
- 5/5
The cleanliness of the hotel was top-tier — the rooms were spotless, fresh, and very well maintained. You can tell they take pride in the details. And the location? PRIME. Being right in Times Square made everything so convenient — restaurants, shopping, Broadway shows — all just steps away. You really can’t beat it. The only small con I’d mention is the pillows. They were a bit too soft for my liking — honestly, four pillows equaled one regular pillow lol. But even with that minor issue, this is still a 5-star experience in my book. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!
- 5/5
For table and well stocked. Great value.
- 5/5
Great, friendly, helpful staff! The room was clean and comfortable. The shower actually had full, closing doors, not the half glass panels many hotels now have.
- 5/5
Every single thing was just perfect I can’t complain about anything
- 5/5
The room was spotless and staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back…
- 5/5
The room was spacious with 2 king size beds. The room was clean, and the staff very courteous. The location couldn't have been better. I will definitely stay there again!

- 4/5
Breakfast is not included, but the location is perfect. There are many restaurants nearby, and the subway is very convenient, making it easy to get anywhere. The room is quite small but clean, which is understandable given that it’s in Times Square.

This was such a great location for my girlfriends and I to stay on our trip to New York City! Right across the street from Bryant Park and so close to Times Square. - 5/5
Staff very helpful, pleasant and the restaurant food in the lobby was very delicious. You don’t find many hotels in Times Square that offer two king beds like the Luma.
- 5/5
Great location and value. Will be staying here again.
- 5/5
The location couldn’t be better—right by Times Square and Bryant Park—making it incredibly easy to explore the city with little ones. We walked to shows, holiday attractions, and great restaurants without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Our room was spotless, modern, and surprisingly spacious for a family. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the floor‑to‑ceiling windows gave us beautiful city views that the kids loved waking up to. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate, and the small touches—like cozy robes, great lighting, and quality toiletries—made the stay feel extra special. The staff always greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed. LUMA made our holiday trip feel magical, relaxing, and easy. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for families looking for comfort, convenience, and exceptional service in the heart of NYC.

Great staff!
- 5/5
This was a one of the best experience our family had. Thank you.
- 5/5
Loved our stay while visiting NY.
- 5/5
Family of 4 stayed on 21st floor pre-Christmas. Fantastic location, 2 queen beds, sitting area, mini-fridge. Friendly and helpful staff, including daily housekeeping service. Nearby construction resulted in noise even on the 21st floor, but not enough to make us break out the white-noise generator that came with the room. Housekeeping accidentally threw away a small item left on a tissue one day, and after we realized what had happened that evening, they went through the garbage and FOUND the item. KUDOS!!!!
- 5/5
Loved the valet! Every staff member I interacted with was so nice and helpful! My family felt very welcomed for our stay. Would absolutely stay again. Location was really good too if you wanna be in Times Square!

- 5/5
Beautiful boutiques style hotel with upgraded features, comfy beds and a polite stellar staff! Will definitely be back!

My room hasn’t been cleaned on the last day of my stay. When I checked out the lady at the front desk asked me how was my stay, and when I told her the room hasn’t been cleaned, her comment was “oh, I’m sorry” and she continued to check me out. I’m staying the Luma every two months for 3 nights for the past 5 years and they always provided the best service. This was disappointing.

Other than the room being smaller than expected, we could not fault the hotel, staff were helpful and courteous, location was perfect and had the best steak I have ever tasted.
- 5/5
Great Hotel. Highly recommend!!
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
We visited as a family of 4 including a toddler and the stay was wonderful. Staff was fantastic throughout our stay. They were polite, accommodating and got us cabs, and extra towels/supplies for our room in a timely matter. The location was perfect as it’s very close to everything (time square, Rockefeller, Empire State Building and theatres/madison square garden). Would recommend this hotel to other visiting nyc. Thank you luma!
- 4/5
Perfect.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful. Loved the whole vibe of the small hotel and the location was great.
- 5/5
It was lovely. The location can’t be beat. And 2 king sized beds sold us for this trip of 4 girls. Great stay. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
I have been to Manhattan several times and stayed in multiple places and have not returned to only one but will not return to those. Will book my reservations for next year in the near future and it will be with Luma. Can not say enough good about this hotel.
- 5/5
Our stay was great. The robot butler was fun. Staff was excellent. Great location
- 5/5
My husband and I stayed at Luma for 5 nights and had a fabulous stay. The room was the most spacious we have ever had in New York. It was clean, great beds and the staff was above and beyond. The location can not be beat as it is walking distance to Broadway shows, shopping, restaurants and the best NY pizza - Joe's! Travis the doorman was always happy to help with everything we needed. We will go back to Luma 100%
- 5/5
clean, safe, friendly, great location. only flaw was the weird carpet, but you get free slippers, so maybe they know.
- 4/5
Have stayed here many times. Last time there were a few hiccups but this time excellent as usual. Great location, service and rooms. Will be staying here next time.
- 5/5
Great clean property!! Will be back for sure!
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
This property will suit your needs if you want to be in the middle of Manhattan. You’re literally one block from Times Square and a few yards from Bryant park. The staff were incredible. They accommodated us with storing our luggage since we arrived so early. They also shared tips on how to navigate around the area’s subway. We didn’t dine at their restaurant, but it appeared to be really nice and cozy. Housekeeping even surprised us with turndown service on our arrival night. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return.
- 5/5
Great hotel in Times Square particularly if you are interested in being in Times Square without all of the activity.
- 5/5
Travis at the front door was so helpful!!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! Everyone was kind and made us feel welcomed, even in such a busy time. The location can’t be beat!
- 5/5
Very good location, we didn’t know until last day that a great bakery and coffee shop was next door. Be sure to try it, if you stay at Luma.
- 5/5
Great location, quiet rooms, great service.
- 5/5
Great location, great room. Had 2 long beds and the gym was close by and good.
- 5/5
It was our 5th Anniversary. When we arrived in our room, we found a bottle of wine and two wine glasses in addition to two gourmet cookies and a card from the staff. The staff was very hospitable and all about customer service throughout our stay, a rare thing to find anywhere these days! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Construction by Scott outside window so noisy but not the hotels fault
- 5/5
Staff were helpful and kind. Big thanks to Joshua and his team helping us settle in on day one and for his help with the check out as well. Can I recommend having amenities like soap and shampoo on a squeeze pump bottle for convenience next time ?
- 5/5
Super clean and extreme close to Times Square
- 5/5
It was good
- 5/5
All great. Fantastic location. Good sized room and very clean. All team extremely helpful
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 5/5
Was great but a bit small reception
- 5/5
The Luma is the perfect place for us to stay on our annual trip to NYC because it’s quiet and still walkable to Times Square and the theater district.
- 1/5
The room was not the room I reserved on Hotels.com. Much smaller and no view.
- 5/5
Perfect for a family visiting NYC
- 5/5
The room has everything you can think of and more (from water bottles to a sleeping sound machine!), Alina the robot was a super cool surprise with gifts for the kids, the staff was very friendly, and the room design is great.
- 5/5
Very convenient to Times Square, Central Park, theaters, restaurants and shopping. Clean room, comfortable bed.
- 5/5
I informed the waiter that I am a vegan and he had the chef create a delicious vegetable meal.
- 5/5
We did not eat at the hotel, except the time we had Joe's delivered. It is very close to the subway and plenty of dining options nearby. Great staff as well!
- 5/5
Our room was spotless, modern, and beautifully designed — with comfy beds, great lighting, and thoughtful touches that made it feel luxurious without being over the top. The blackout blinds were a dream after long days exploring the city, and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly throughout the hotel. We especially appreciated the clever layout and storage space, which made it feel bigger than your typical NYC room. We also loved the on-site restaurant and bar, AperiBar — perfect for breakfast, a cocktail, or a late-night bite. The service was consistently top-notch, and the vibe was relaxed yet stylish. LUMA truly felt like a calm, polished haven in the middle of the city that never sleeps. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone wanting comfort, convenience, and a touch of NYC magic.
- 5/5
Hotel was in a good location, close to Bryant park. The room was clean, spacious for NYC and had a Dyson hairdryer which was a plus. Staff were friendly and check-in was seamless.
- 5/5
Staff were very polite and property was very clean.
- 5/5
Absolutely best hotel we have stayed in NYC !
- 5/5
Great location, room size, service, etc.
- 5/5
Traveled overnight to NYC for a family event. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were modern and clean. We did not take advantage of the breakfast or visit the bar. Traffic in Times Sq was terrible but the hotel has valet parking which was expensive, but worth it.
- 4/5
Nice staff, easy to access the city and great price valur
- 5/5
They are about a half a block from Bryant Park, and a few blocks from Times Square right in the heart of Broadway. Just close enough to all the fun stuff but not STUCK in the middle of it. The nice thing is they are on a street not as busy so the noise is reduced. I had read lots of reviews about the "chain" hotels nearby that some were cheaper but they also came with crowds, over-crowded and slow elevators and rooms that looked used. We chose the LUMA because it had none of that. It didn't have a giant lobby but who cares. The staff were all great, they held the door for us every time we walked up, they stored our bags the day of our departure until 6pm so we could walk around the city and were very friendly. The room was quiet, clean and well appointed. We needed sheets and a blanket for the pull out couch for my daughter and they ran them right up and even offered to make up the sleeper sofa for us. If you're coming to Broadway, or just seeing the city, stay at the LUMA even if it costs a little extra. The price is worth it!
- 5/5
This was a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a special occasion for my sister‘s 60th birthday and we would definitely come back to this hotel again in the future.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel and within walking distance of Broadway Theatres. Highly recommended.
- 4/5
Everything was good and up to standards- pleasant staff and nice restaurant
- 5/5
Great hotel, small rooms but I’m sure that’s to be expected in NYC! Great area and close to everything but that does lead to there being vagrants and trash and some bad smells. However the hotel is extremely quiet if that’s what you’re looking for!!
- 5/5
Very cute convenient location. Staff is extremely kind and helpful
- 4/5
There was noise from elevator so they switched my room . Mattresses too soft for my comfort. Overall good hotel
- 5/5
It was just right for us.
- 1/5
This is NOT a four star hotel. Two or three at absolute best. We paid more for this place due to the king beds for comfier stay, and they felt like an old couch- the sides of the beds (where we slept) sloped downwards to the sides, and the pillows were all feather and flattened to an uncomfortable position. Room service misplaced or threw away my nipple covers which were on my clothes in my open luggage, and when I reported it to the front desk manager, he asked if I “even looked for them” (I tore apart our room and asked my friends to dump their suitcases out to look, they were GONE) and then he said “well they didn’t take them or throw them out” and wouldn’t do anything, not even offer to replace them ($40 on amazon). He said Expedia would have to help me. He also said the cleaning team is a third-party company, so they’ret not even responsible for their team.
- 5/5
From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Christopher. The Luma Hotel is nestled between two bigger building's which makes it a quiet environment away from the busy City but centrally located and close to everything. I heard nothing when I went to bed. It's a little things that a hotel offers and this property was no exception. From the Nespresso coffee machine, the sound machine and umbrellas on a rainy day I feel very well taken care of away from home.
- 5/5
Great location and staff.
- 5/5
This is my third time staying in this hotel. The rooms are a bit small but that’s manahatt!
- 5/5
Great stay with kids .
- 5/5
Everything great but disappointing that they did not seem to be recycling options for our trash. Did appreciate the metal water bottle containers provided for your charge
- 5/5
Love the customer service, cleanliness, and the proximity to Bryant Park and a Whole Foods.
- 4/5
Nice friendly but tight
- 5/5
Well located. Bryan park and Times Square right there. Tight quarters but convenient for short stay
- 5/5
Room is tiny but overall great
- 5/5
Wonderful location, close to many landmarks but on a quieter street. The staff and the room was all great. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Very convenient location, both Bryant park subway station and 42nd street subway station are a couple of minutes walk. Checkin process was smooth and staff were excellent.
- 5/5
Great area, close to Times Square and Bryant Park. Staff was amazing. We left our passports, some cash, and some credit cards in our safe and didnt realize until we were at the airport to fly home. Within an hour the head of housekeeping recovered our items. We had them back within 2 days
- 5/5
An excellent hotel in a fantastic location, within a couple of minute walking distance of Times Square, 5th Avenue, Bryant Park, the Subway and a Wholefoods store for snacks. It is the perfect location in central New York but tucked away from the craziness of Times Square. The rooms are of a good size for central New York and are very well appointed with Dyson hairdryers, Nespresso Coffee machines and nice toiletries. We were so pleased that we chose this hotel for our first trip to New York and would definitely come back.
- 5/5
Love it , I will be back very kid friendly hotel, best customer service
- 5/5
Family stay with 4 and 6 year old. Staff were fantastic and accommodating. Kids enjoyed the housekeeping delivery by robot.
- 5/5
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. You are right off of Bryant Park and about a block from Times Square. The restaurant and bar downstairs was great as well! The staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and the ease to get to the subway or catch a cab all made this a wonderful place to stay!
- 5/5
We had a great time at the Luma! the team was prompt and professional! Warmly recommend
- 5/5
The staff at Luma are so friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Loved staying at Luma! Very very quiet and spacious rooms with 2 King beds. Will recommend and would stay again!
- 5/5
I liked how the hotel was close to Bryant park, shopping, subway, and restaurants. It is centrally located and the staff was great.
- 5/5
Great hotel and restaurant!
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay in the city. We have been here several times and always enjoy it. Staff goes above whats needed. Omar is terrific in the bar. And when my daughter had to leave at 4:30 in the morning, one of the door attendants stood with her to make her feel safe while the other went and personally flagged a taxi for her. Above and beyond service.
- 5/5
Location is best.
- 4/5
Draw backs: 1) room availability. 3pm is checkin time. The room was not ready until 5:33. 2) once your car is parked for the Valet at $100, you have to wait for 1 hour for it to be returned. They did not tell us this in advance. Basically don't be in a hurry when staying at the Luma.
- 5/5
After extensive research I chose Luma based upon the positive reviews, reasonable pricing, and location. It exceeded all expectations! Amazing staff members that were friendly and helpful throughout the stay! Location is close to everything but not so close you feel bothered by the crowds or noise. The lobby, elevator, and rooms are all incredibly clean and beautifully designed! This is my hotel of choice when traveling to NYC!!
- 5/5
Customer service was top notch. I was extremely impressed with how on top of everything they were. If we requested something they responded immediately.
- 5/5
Close to everything in Times Square. Staff is extremely friendly.
- 4/5
Was good. Met expectations.
- 3/5
Have stayed here many times and is usually excellent. This time not so much. Room not ready until 4:00, a couple of items in the room didn’t work and a two hour wait to get our car from valet. These made me take it down from a usual 4 stars to 3. But still like staying here and will return.
- 5/5
Family friendly, clean and safe. Staffs are all very responsible and nice. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
It was amazing
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, nice level of luxury at a much more affordable price than many other options in the area.
- 2/5
I like to think of myself as a reasonable person, but I did not leave this place feeling as though management here thought that I was. Instead, I felt gaslit repeatedly. I needed a room for three people and paid for it. The sofa bed was not ready to go and there were no extra sheets to make it ready. Torn sheets were put on beds twice, dirty bathroom glasses repeatedly were not replaced, an extremely loose handle on the bathroom door was not repaired after multiple complaints and there were other problems, including a promise from the hotel manager that at checkout a letter of apology would be ready for me and that it would include a promise of a reduced rate for a future later visit. At check out there was no such letter. It was recommended to me by the on duty manager for me to look for it in my email, where it did eventually arrive, but nowhere close to when we checked out. Not that we would ever return even if they promised us two weeks for free. I don’t like to spend my free time repeatedly lecturing people and demanding better treatment, but that’s what I felt I was doing constantly on this vacation. If you’re good at pretending serious problems don’t exist at the place you’re trying to have fun at then go ahead and stay here. Otherwise, I recommend you spend your hard earned money and precious time elsewhere.
- 5/5
A lovely boutique hotel within a short walk from Grand Central Station. Genuinely kind and helpful staff. High end room appointments. I recommend.
- 5/5
The property is located close to many of the Broadway theaters and was in easy walking distance to them. The neighborhood seemed safe and convenient to restaurants, shopping, Times Square, and the subway. My family and I will definitely stay here again on our next visit!
- 5/5
Great staff- Travis was so helpful, my teens loved him! Location is perfect, central to everything.
- 5/5
Exceptional experience.
- 5/5
Very pleasant staff, delicious food and quaint hotel
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at Luna. Would stay there again. Close to Times Square and to the subway
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! Right across the street from Bryant Park. EXCELLENT staff, clean, modern property. Very comfortable beds and SOOO QUIET! Will definitely be staying here agajn.
- 5/5
We stayed at Luma for 7 nights. We loved it. We recommend it 100%.
- 4/5
The rooms are of great quality, offering thoughtful features such as ample electrical outlets, high-quality televisions, a Nespresso machine, and well-planned use of space—something not always easy to find in New York. The bathrooms are equally impressive, with a sleek design and premium toiletries that add a luxurious feel to your stay. What truly sets LUMA apart is the exceptional service. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and quick to respond to any requests. It’s rare to find a hotel team that strikes the right balance between being attentive and unobtrusive, and LUMA delivers on that front effortlessly. Another great perk is complimentary access to a fully equipped Crunch gym just a two-minute walk from the hotel—a real bonus for those who like to stay active while traveling. The on-site restaurant and bar are stylish and of a very high standard, with a great menu and atmosphere. The only minor downside was that the bar service could be a bit slow, especially when busy—this is the one area that could be improved. All in all, LUMA offers boutique quality at a fair price in a city where even average hotels come at a premium. It’s easy to see why this hotel receives such consistently high ratings
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and stay, very clean I would recommend to anyone
- 5/5
Times Square is 2 seconds away, the room was super clean, the staff was kind and efficient. The hotel held our bags after checkout at no additional cost. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful
- 5/5
Great service!
- 5/5
Location, location, location! Two main subway stations about a block away. Bryant Park at the corner with weekend events. Staff was great, was able to get early check in and staff got us a taxi when we checked out at 5 am. We had to put $300 deposit on a card and I’m waiting to get that back. After we get the deposit back then everything will have been excellent!
- 5/5
We loved the LUMA hotel for its friendly comfortable vibe. The staff were SO helpful and kept our luggage for the whole day after we checked out. Amazing location right on Bryant Park. The room nyc sized but nicely appointed. We even had a great time at the bar one evening. Will definitely come back!
- 5/5
Perfect customer service and accommodations. Location is excellent.
- 5/5
Great location, great vibe, great rooms. The only downside is the poor water stream in the bathroom
- 5/5
I highly recommend LUMA. I will stay again for sure!
- 5/5
Booked night before thinking it was just a tiny boutique hotel from its low price, freebies and photos, but was pleasantly surprised to find my suite on the 28th floor with a great skyline view. The hotel is packed with thoughtful touches and modern technology designed for guest comfort. Service was truly remarkable; the late night, day desk staff, and kind doormen made me feel like I was the only one there, always ready and willing to assist with any request. I felt very well looked out for as a solo female traveler in a big city. The location is unbeatable – literally steps from Broadway and Times Square, yet tucked away on a quieter, more refined street that matches Bryant Parks pace. The hotel's attention to detail is also noteworthy. I always "test" places whenever traveling close to special occasions by adding them in room requests or notes to see if staff notice. I was met with a delightful surprise of macarons and a personalized note upon entering my room. Only complaint was that my room was freezing, but im sensitive to cold & didnt want to bug anyone, the heater magically started working too well on day of check out.
- 5/5
The only thing I was disappointed with the sky view I felt like it wasn’t as nice as the picture. Also no Netflix or YouTube only regular cable tv. Other than that it was great
- 4/5
Have stayed here multiple times. Great location. Excellent service. Restaurant and bar both good. Rooms clean and comfortable. Will be staying here again.
- 5/5
Our experience at the Luna was amazing. The staff was so friendly and the service was exemplary. Our room was absolutely beautiful.

- 5/5
Easy access. Clean. Helpful staff.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The room was extremely clean and better than what we expected. The restaurant in the lobby had great food and amazing drinks. If you need anything while you’re there literally just ask and they will do their best.
- 5/5
Stephanie was a blessing to speak with. She was so kind and made our stay very special. She went out of her way to make sure my daughter felt very welcomed and even sent her a little surprise for her birthday. Thank you again Stephanie we loved our stay, and highly recommend Lunma to everyone.
- 5/5
Perfect service, very friendly staff. Modern design. This is our eighth time at the hotel, and it never disappoints, always maintaining a high standard.
- 5/5
Harvey, the overnight concierge, was amazing & went above & beyond for all of our needs during our stay! Loved it here at Luma, so central to everything.
- 5/5
Very clean!! Staff had great recommendations for restaurants and were very helpful and accommodating.

Great hotel in the middle of time square. Walking distance to shopping and nice restaurants. Restaurants in the hotel top notch and served great drinks. Loved the happy hour. No gym is the only issue I had.
- 5/5
Perfecto
- 4/5
My family enjoyed it
- 5/5
No reason to stay anywhere but here when visiting Manhattan.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, this was our second stay and the service /staff are excellent , very attractive boutique hotel.
- 5/5
From the moment we checked in, our experience at Luma was exceptional. Debra warmly welcomed us and later checked us out with the same kindness and professionalism. Our room was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the hospitality—every staff member we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
- 5/5
10 PM checkin and they greeted me by name, had been texting me to see if i was in need of anything. Just as friendly on checkout. Superb little hotel.
- 5/5
Omar at the Bar and Bellmen were very polite and talkative. We felt very welcome and taken care of.
- 5/5
We loved everything about our stay at Luma. Having two King beds was AMAZING and the room’s amenities were excellent quality. The restaurant was phenomenal. We will be back!
- 5/5
Staff was great - nice clean and modern
- 5/5
Was cleaned and spacious! Location is great to get around. Wols definitely reccomend
- 1/5
Very unforgiving management. We were not able to make the trip due to aassive snow storm. Management still unwilling to provide refund despite their hotel being empty on a Sunday night. Will never stay in this hotel.
- 5/5
A very good place to stay. Easy to go to fantastic restaurants and musical theaters around midtown.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff and very clean!
- 5/5
Came on vacation with wife and 5 year old, both of which were incredibly satisfied with the services and staff. Even though it's a little bit more for DINKs, single folks or people with older kids, the staff and location were awesome to our son and he loved his stay. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing also, highly recommend trying at least once. Overall 10/10 experience!
- 5/5
The hotel was very modern and clean. The staff were amazing at both checkin and check out and all times in between! Great location close to Times Square. Self Parking was also available.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
