Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location near Broadway and Times Square, with friendly and helpful staff being a common praise. However, some guests have complained about noise, particularly from the street, and a few have had issues with the front desk staff. Additionally, some guests have found the hotel to be overpriced for the quality of the rooms and amenities.

Location Being dismissed by duty manager after questioning why no service by housekeeping was disappointing..rudely told not the hotels problem left me speechless

Cheating while having breakfast , charges are unnecessary for amenities..
- 5/5
The room was clean and better than my expectation. The bathroom was big and I expected a smaller area given that we are in Times Square area. The location is perfect, it’s two blocks from Times Square so less crowded and noisy. One thing is that they had extra charges for things we didn’t use in the room so we had to review the receipt and they corrected it, but if you were in hurry, you might miss it.

Awesome experience.

An extra $45 a day fee that we weren't aware of but I assume that is custom for NY hotels. Automatically charged for minibar when nothing was used or consumed and took 4 calls to the desk to get charge removed is a bit perplexing. You can see your bill on the tv which is useful. In room dining is very good but pricey even with the $20 daily food credit. They didn't have tropical green smoothie the entire week which was disappointing. Didn't use laundry, gym, or any other amenities. View was incredible and everything we wanted. Room was in need of deep cleaning and upgrading. Stained walls, fading and outdated carpeting, aged and scratched furniture. Water pressure was fantastic. This was our first time in NY and we chose a spot within walking distance of everything..Intercontinental did not disappoint in that regard. If street noise, sirens, etc. is not your jam, choose somewhere else. We heard everything every night but didn't mind and even enjoyed it. Hearing the fans cheer on the Knicks in the finals from the street was incredible. Subway is right next door which is convenient. Elevators are confusing at first. Last few go to the higher floors, first few go to lower levels and offices but there is no sign or we didn't see one. All in all, we loved NY and can't wait to return but probably wouldn't stay at this location again.

I have told people to stay there and recommend recommended this place and now I have gone out of my way to make sure that I would never recommend it again I’m very disappointed and it was anything but a intercontinental experience. Will not be returning, and by the way, there’s never room at the bar or in the dining room area during breakfast

I like the view and the place The cleaning issues it is not 5 star at all and there is some of the stuff issues and delays the orders like i ordered the new towels and I had been waiting like two or three hours after i called second time they sent it after i complained and I didn’t feel I have my privacy I put D&D and someone entered my room when i wasn’t there and they said no one which is not true , i tried to call to complain about my room and one of their front desk returned my call and he spoke with me with very rude attitude and bad communication and he said just say thanks god that we have you this room and rather than the dust everywhere in the room and I had like rash all over my body because of useless stuff and may be used towels

The rooms were clean and the staff were respectful. The criticism we have is that the room that we had originally requested was not correct for our needs. When I booked, I reserved an accessible room and at the time I emailed ahead to let them know that my Mum (who is physically disabled and can’t raise her legs) needed a walk in shower/ wet room. This was many months ago. They emailed to say that they would accommodate this. Upon our arrival, we were told that the room had a bath! We weren’t able to accept it as my Mum needed a wet room. We had to wait an extra night until one became available. The rest of the time, the hotel was incredibly hospitable and kind. They bent over backwards and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay… but we do think that the hotel should have been better prepared as they did know the circumstances. Everything else was great. The breakfast was incredible!

The breakfast and all the food we ordered was delicious There were young guests staying in some of the rooms next door, they were loud at 11 pm to 1 am in the morning, running in and out of each others rooms in the hallway, loud, slamming doors.

They treated customers poorly. It’s not worth the money for a 5 star hotel. Won’t come back.

Our room was close to subway and very noisy Food was very mediocre

The location The front desk staff, especially the night manager was not professional, definitely not for a 5 star hotel. You better see the cctv at around 6:10am, May 27. There was some amount discrepancy on the receipt during the check-out, and I requested the explanation for it. The initial staff member who helped me said I didn’t owe anything to them and I could go. But the issue was not that I owed to them but they owed to me 23 dollars based on the receipt. In all, I am very disappointed in the management and their staff training, essentially the attitude of the night manager. PS, I stayed at the room 637, go to the that hallway, the stinky smell was unbearable, even though getting better when we left.

Very central to everything in Manhattan, especially everything in Times Square. Brilliant breakfast, comfortable rooms and beds. Right next to subway with line straight to downtown/uptown. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive.
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice and in a great location to everything we needed to see. The staff was nice and helpful as well.
- 5/5
Great location we got the air train and subway from JFK airport to right outside our hotel. Upon check in they upgraded us to a skyline view which was incredible. The hotel itself is faultless, the staff cannot do enough for you and the room was cleaned to a high standard everyday. I would recommend booking with breakfast included as there’s a great selection and not many other places around for the same kind of breakfast, a healthy option. We booked the baseball game tickets through ticketmaster as the hotel concierge could not beat the price and helped guide us to a trusted site, we booked moulin rouge through the concierge with less than an hour to the show and that did not disappoint. We enquired about a later check out as our flight was an evening flight and were advised we could extend check out to 1pm free of charge which was worth doing. Our suitcase wheel broke on arrival and the hotel were more than happy to send an engineer with tools to our room to help fix. We had lunch in the hotel a few days when we’d nipped back and the club wrap is delicious. If we were ever to return we’d 100% choose this hotel again, location is great for Central Park, midtown, theatre district and only a sub ride away from Statue of Liberty, 9/11 and lower manhattan attractions. I would also recommend booking the city pass as this works out cheaper and you get 5 attractions included we visited the statue of Liberty, 9/12 museum and memorials empire state and more. Best holiday ever!!

Average room. Paid for upgrade to corner, and the blackout curtains don't work there. Maintenance cotuldn't fix. Coffee make worked sporadically. And the undisclosed Amenity Fee of $47 per day for no amenities we used. Complained and they took it off at checkout. Left a sour taste.

No. Not one thing.

It's Intercontinental, which means very little comes free with your room, and you must pay a $40 daily "amenity fee" which doesn't get you much.

This rooms are clean, the staff is welcoming, and the food and drinks were great!
- 5/5
We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff is awesome! The property and its location are great.

The hot water took 10 minutes to figure it out in the shower and other days just as long. The bathroom vanity and lights were worn and rusty on the lights. A hole in the wall near the window. It seemed like a 5 star hotel but then not really.
- 1/5
The last two times I stayed there a prior guest head left rotten food in the mini bar, and it had not been removed when I checked in. It was lots and lots of dust bunnies under the bed. The worst part that was the reception people. Some of them are very good, but if you get one of the ones that are not your in for it. This time when I checked out, they insisted that I had asked for an upgrade and we’re charging me for it. I had not asked for an upgrade. They gave me an upgrade when I checked in, and I assumed it was for free as it has been in the past because I’m a member of the IHG club. The woman I spoke to at reception would not believe me. Cause they tried to charge me for things from the mini bar that I had not used. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will not stay at this hotel again.

Nothing Very dirty, dusty, noisy I was thinking all taxes was included , booking was saying like that, but after they give me a bill with extra taxes to pay. Very noisy from the street, poor view not like how is showing in booking pictures You can find much better view in hotels in New York. I pay 400 dollars 1 night not worth it You can find 200 or cheaper better location and view

I loved my stay here!! Will be coming back. The staff is elite in every department. I used to work for St. Regis and Fairmont and I know service when I see it! For that reason, it is hard to impress me- but Intercontinental has their shot together! Everyone is impeccably trained and has an amazing attitudes. Bravo! The brunch is bomb as well! Drinks were YUMMY. Bed was COMFY

Everything at the Intercontinental was great. The staff was warm and inviting, the room was as kept very cleaning but there was one small issue. The towels were desperately needing to be replaced. Several of them were actually thread barren. I expected much more lush towels.

The location is also a big plus — there are shops and restaurants nearby, so everything is very convenient. The atmosphere felt safe and relaxing, which is exactly what you want during a trip. If I had to mention something to improve, it would be that some areas could use a bit of updating, and at times it could get slightly noisy. But overall, it didn’t take away from the experience. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to others.

Great location to Time Square and all the theaters. Subway entrance also at the corner which was super convenient if you plan on using the subway to save money and explore the city like a local. Only complaint would be given what we pay nightly would be nice to get better quality toilet paper and tissue in the rooms. Those little things make a difference. Even my kids complained about the quality comparing it to their school toilet paper which no one likes to use because it’s so thin. Aside from this bed was comfortable and room was clean.

The hotel itself is good but the service and the charges they add for it are ridiculous... This amenity few is too expensive and a complete scam. We also ordered from service, they charged us a delivery fee which is ridiculous and they didn't provide an airport shuttle like it claims on the page. We had to pay for it.

Staff was friendly location was good. Concierge recommended a 3.5 star restaurant which was a waste of money. The floors were dirty under the bed debris and earplugs from previous customers, some kind of splattervstains on gold drapes, someone ate out of the Pringle container on the mini bar and the other Pringle were stale. But most importantly someone opened our window without our permission while we were gone for 3 hrs and hotel security could not tell us how it could've gotten open. Hotel was not worth $400 a night.
- 1.5/5
There reservation system was down and there were 20 people waiting on like when went to check in. They were offering people free drinks so they wouldn’t wait in line. I had travels all day and needed to check in and shower before heading out to a work dinner with clients. Very unhappy with a hotel if the caliber not being able to accommodate me and their other guests. Unacceptable service Check it was an abomination

-service: requested additional towels and had to keep requesting as they never arrived. Additionally if you book through a third party, BEWARE that they will use your credit card information to charge you daily through them as well. Check your transactions. When I brought it up to the front desk and manager, they weren’t apologetic but instead said that they had reimbursed it back so that it was fine bc it was a credit card so the charge would just fall off.

This is a faceless hotel, geared for corporate travelers. Customer service definitely begs for improvement. We discovered leftover food from the previous tenant left in the mini fridge, requested that it was taken away, to which the customer service representative appeared to get annoyed with. The next day we discovered the food was still there, we had to call and escalate the matter for it to be resolved! Downstairs we approached the front desk to request a shoe horn, the rep would not even look at us while communicating with us. I would expect a way better quality of service from an IHG hotel. First and last time staying there.

A 10 second walk to the closest entrance to the subway. Staff were all friendly and welcoming as with almost all New Yorkers to be honest.

The bar waiter for lunch was always so nice, food good and service fast. The hotel luggage people and arrive assisting luggage car people were always helpful with a smile! The front desk people not so much. The front desk people always seemed to be in general pissed off about something.

Had to pay an additional amenity fee of $40/day. As far as I can tell, all it did was give you $30/day discount on some services.

Great hotel, great location. Close enough to Time Square and public transport. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Highly recommend
- 5/5
We accidentally booked this hotel for the US open via hotels.com not knowing that it was an official hotel for the open. It’s a great option for the open with the 7 train being nearby and all of the open themed stuff inside
- 5/5
This hotel is one ofvthe best alway good reliable

Nice hotel and professional staff. The restaurant was amazing.

SUPER Impressed!! The parking near the property was an excellent bonus. Restaurant was great! Will be back--and highly recommend.

It was a beautiful experience. The receptionist, Gabby, was extremely friendly and helpful. She is absolutely wonderful and made my visit very pleasant.
- 1/5
Check-in was horrible. Took forever. It’s charged two different credit cards for the same amount claiming there was a problem in their system. I’m still waiting on my refund. They tried to charge a third card prior to arrival. They tied up over $1000 for a one night stay. My room smelt like old trash. Although we were only going to be there one night, we did not have time to return to the hotel repack our bags, and transferred to a different room. In the middle of the night, the bathroom lights stopped working, and I had to use my cell phone flashlight to go use the restroom. Not a good day at all.
- 4/5
Great hotel. My room was clean and staff members were warm and accommodating except over the telephone.

Great customer service (the receptions desk).

We enjoyed our stay!

Just to let you know had to pay for parking and breakfast
- 4/5
Hotel is well situated in mid town and is clean, very quiet and the staff is very professional. Don't let them arrange travel to the airport for you - you will end up paying double the taxi cab rate. I had an early morning flight so wasn't thinking through it when I checked out but wish I had found a cab or taken an Uber.

good location in for new york visit. and
- 5/5
Very nice and friendly staff,, beautiful views!
- 4/5
The hotel is near Time Square and close to lots of restaurants and Broadway shows. The room was clean and the beds comfy. We did have an issue with the AC the first night but changed rooms the following and no more issues. The Stinger is a great place to relax and wind day from the day.
- 4/5
I think hotels in tourist destinations have become so expensive. A can of soda or small bottle of water at this hotel ends up over $11 with tax. A big water at the street cart outside the hotel was $4. Bed was comfy, room was decent, and it felt very safe at the hotel.
- 5/5
Epic!
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Very friendly and courteous staff. They were very helpful and accommodating.

Excellent location to experience exciting New York

Room was nice and comfortable
- 5/5
This is my favorite hotel to stay in for work or fun when I’m in New York City! Convenient to walk places, directly next to a subway station, and excellent customer service all around.
- 3/5
Arrived after midnight due to delayed flight. Given room on 6th floor. Our family of 4 got to the room TV on, beds unmade, wet towels on the floor in the bathroom. Went back downstairs, given a room on the 4th floor facing the street where the early morning noise was so loud I got up to check if the window was open, which it was not. In addition to the customary “sorry for the inconvenience “ we were given a voucher for 2 “free” breakfasts which meant the other 2 family members would have to pay $38 per person plus tax and tip for breakfast. So ate elsewhere. Then for the mandatory amenities charge of $40 per night, you can get a food and beverage credit for up to $30 per day but only before midnight. So this hotel is not worth the hassle.
- 5/5
All over Comfortable and nice
- 5/5
Front desk was very accommodating to our needs.
- 4/5
I didn’t see a little store on site for sundries, which would have been nice, and we did have some leftover dinner that we ended up having to toss because the fridge in the room was their a la carte mini bar.
- 5/5
Nice, clean, and quiet. Staff was very welcoming and helpful

Unfortunately we found a bug which resembled a bed bug on our bed at 2am. We then got moved to another room and that room had the same bugs in the room. We had to change rooms not once but twice at 2am. Such a huge inconvenience for a family of 4. Was beyond disappointed with this property.
- 5/5
It was a great stay, the area around is not good, but very touristic.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff

Nice hotel for a short stay
- 5/5
Very beautiful place to visit.

I am not sure why this is a 5-star property. It has seen better days. Rooms were filthy. Nobody should pay this much for a property like this. This should be rated as 3-star. You are better off at a Holiday inn or Marriott chain. The only good part about the hotel is the staff. They are very polite and accommodating.

Always an excellent experience!
- 4/5
This was a perfect location for being close to theaters, Times Square and the subway, yet not right *in* the noise. Staff was super friendly and attentive to our needs. The beds were super comfortable and the shower was lovely with even a little foot step to make shaving easier. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious.
- 4/5
Good staff. Good location.
- 4/5
The hotel was okay, but the room was not cleaned properly. It was very dusty, still items in the refrigerator from the prior guest, broken drawers. I just expected more for the price.
- 5/5
Always nice , as expected
- 4/5
Service was not the best
- 5/5
It was a great location.
- 3/5
The hotel room was nice and clean however, show didn't drain and food was left in the hallway from room service the entire time
- 4/5
Hotel is in a good location. Did not like that the refrigerator was full of items for sale. I would prefer a little space for my water bottle. I was surprised to receive a final bill for over $80 that was labeled as Amenities. The explanation given when I asked was that it was due to reserving with Expedia.
- 5/5
We stayed for two nights. The room was nice, the beds very comfortable. Service was great. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Little things: the little room refrigerator was totally taken up by the pay minibar, making it difficult to keep our water cold, etc. and we needed to seek the assistance of the staff twice because the television streaming app did not work for us as designed. Regardless, it was a very pleasant place to stay, and would recommend it.

Loved this hotel, very convenient location. Very clean and the staff was excellent. Never had to wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator.
- 5/5
The property was at very close proximity to Times Square. The parking too is available just across the street. Their Vallet service team is very prompt and will be quick to guide you. The concierge was helpful and guided us on the various points of interest nearby. Also their customer service team provided us details on the IHG's Ambassador programme and we were very happy to enrol for it.
- 5/5
I was able to pack my bag and leave it in the room and go out and enjoy the day. When I returned, they moved me to a room on the 27th floor that had a spectacular view of 9th Avenue. I was very happy! They delivered my bag to the new room quickly, then also delivered a complimentary fruit plate for the trouble. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The hotel bar and restaurant, The Stinger, was a convenient place to meet with friends and had a good selection of food and drinks. This hotel is conveniently located in the theater district, in walking distance to most shows. It is surrounded by the vibrant Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, full of restaurants, bars and entertainment, and right across the street from Birdland jazz club.
- 5/5
Love how clean and pristine the property was! Also very close to many restaurants and attractions in the city.
- 5/5
Perfect family weekend to celebrate our 7 year old granddaughters birthday!
- 3/5
Great views and right in the heart of Times Square.
- 3/5
However, my experience was significantly marred by issues related to billing and the use of the $35 daily credit. Despite not consuming any minibar items, I was still charged arbitrarily. Additionally, after check-out, I noticed further inaccurate charges on my account. Another inconvenience was the breakfast process. Even though breakfast was included in the room rate, I was still required to sign a receipt and provide my room number both at the restaurant entrance and again on the bill after each meal. This process felt unnecessarily repetitive and could have been streamlined for a better guest experience. Attempts to resolve these issues via phone were met with unhelpful responses from staff members, who seemed unwilling to listen or assist in any meaningful way. The one redeeming factor was the hotel manager, who was attentive, professional, and genuinely tried to resolve the issues I faced. It's unfortunate that a hotel of this caliber, with a five-star rating, is let down by poor operational systems and service inconsistencies. With some improvements in communication, billing accuracy, and internal coordination, the overall guest experience could be greatly enhanced.

Theft from my room, uncourteous staff, dated rooms, traffic could be heard from our room. The rooms were dated. Not worth the money we paid.
- 4/5
The carpet in the rooms and hallways was in bad shape. Did not look, feel or smell clean.
- 4/5
Great place to stay, room comfy and room service was delicious. Great bars over the road too.
- 5/5
The restaurant on site was very good - cool atmosphere and good service. The breakfast was amazing - great variety, fresh and delicious. Super convenient to shows, just a short walk. Little Italy 1 1/2 block away was a great pizza place
- 5/5
Loved the staff and perfect location!

Clean, comfort, and courtesy are three words that come to mind when describing my room at the InterContinental.
- 4/5
Location is very good. Service and staff is very nice. But over charge the wine and cookie fee. I think someone made mistake.
- 5/5
This place is much better than advertised and definitely will come back again.

- 5/5
Great place, staff is helpful and informative, breakfast was amazing with the package. Skyview was amazing as well and shower was beautiful.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel was nice. There were a lot of dining spots around and the transportation was easy. The hotel staff were nice and helpful and the cleanliness’s was nice too. The corner room view was also beautiful and the room was pretty big as well. My girlfriend and I had no complaints.
- 5/5
Staff is top notch. All around great people. Really a credit to the company to have such nice, warm, friendly staff.
- 5/5
We didn’t interact much with staff but they seem to be very friendly and helpful. One notable thing is their shower stall is big especially considering the room size is compact.
