Reviews
The hotel's location next to Grand Central Station is highly praised, offering easy access to various attractions, dining options, and public transportation. However, the quality of rooms and service is inconsistent, with some guests reporting dirty rooms, unhelpful staff, and hidden fees, while others had positive experiences.
- Excellent location with easy access to attractions and public transportation
- Spacious and comfortable rooms for some guests
- Inconsistent room quality and cleanliness

El servicio fue excelente
- 5/5
Everything was great except Wish they have hand liquid soap rather than bar soap and water bottles for guests in room.
- 3/5
This hotel is a great location and the rooms are generous size, but it is tired. The rooms are really beat up and not that clean. Shower curtain needed replacing, TP holder broken, and table in our room was quite dirty. Very overpriced for what we got. Paid $600/night for Friday and Saturday. Had to check back in on Sunday due to flight cancellation; rate was $150. It’s only worth about that. Two bottled waters in the lobby were $16. No thanks NYC

Great location. Old furniture and AC was not cold. Shower had no pressure. Elevator stopped working one morning and we were in 34 floor, had to walk down the stairs 10 floors to get to a working elevator.

Very convenient and great hotel.

Overall great stay. Had water temperature and pressure issues. AC couldn’t keep up room wasn’t as cool as we’d like. Front desk did send someone up to fix it. Very nice being attached to Union Station.

Terrible experience at Hyatt Grand Central. The room was extremely dusty and not properly cleaned. We found hair in the shower, sink, on the floor, and even on the bed sheets. I went to the front desk to report the issue, and I was told that someone would come to clean the room, but no one ever showed up and nothing was done. It was very disappointing, especially for a hotel of this caliber. The room, and particularly the bathroom, is in desperate need of renovation. Overall, the cleanliness and condition of the property were unacceptable. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

Housekeeping here sucks. They forgot to clean my room one day. They don’t clean up any trash or anything left in the hallways , hallways are never vacuumed. Rooms are relatively quiet. Beds are comfortable. Staff is okay, not the nicest but tolerable for NYC.
- 5/5
Overall it was a GREAT stay. Very friendly staff and super accessible for New York visitors. My 14 year old daughter said this was one of her highlights of our entire trip. You know how hard it is to impress a teenager!? I’d stay here again no doubt. Our room was really clean, and well maintained during our day trips out into the city.

Location is great!
- 2/5
Room was not well kept, hardwood floor was scratched all over, bathrooms were not totally clean. Front desk staff were not that helpful. I wanted to ship some item back to my home the person in charge of shipping was not the helpful. I ended up walking to near by UPS to get help. I wanted the hotel keep our luggage while waiting for our ride back to airport I had to pay cash for that service. Generally staff service was not satisfactory, specially for premium price we paid.
- 5/5
Very convenient clean and staff was amazing
- 5/5
Great location !
- 4/5
The staff to check in were very nice. The luggage service is great. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and I was surprised at how clean and well maintained the room was. It was very hot and the AC did not go down any further. It felt like there was an overall gap in Service past the check-in desk. Almost more like staying at an Airbnb than a hotel.

Front desk staff was rude. Room and everything else was decent

Room was clean, staff very courteous and helpful.

they have a large fabulous convenience store within the hotel great security, easy to get a car to go anywhere, and very friendly staff

Convenient location, friendly staff and spacious rooms.

Stayed 4 nights. Room cleaned daily. Great location.
- 5/5
Also just a tip for anyone who’s looking, the shower tap needs to be pulled out and you need to pull HARD! Like don’t worry about breaking it HARD. Again this is an issue with an old hotel… Don’t expect the caulk and everything to be perfect as well. Overall a good hotel for New York and location is key!
- 5/5
Amazing location in downtown Manhattan. Blocks away from Union Station.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and great location, staff was very polite and helpful
- 4/5
Sheet cover had small stain and a strand of hair found in the sheets. Quickly sorted but no a good start. Apart from that no issues. Good central location. Homeless and others are around but no problem. Just leads to the atmosphere. Not under the control of the hotel.
- 5/5
Lobby was amazing, room was clean and staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Great location and rooms were cleaned everyday
- 3/5
If you want to hold bags after check out there is a $4 fee cash, the staff demands cash even after telling them you don’t have any. Bathroom was dirty; hair in the bathtub, dusty surfaces and toilet was dirty.
- 4/5
Room was small and basic but it was about location for us. It worked out great.
- 1/5
This is an outstanding location…For another hotel
- 3/5
Rude at check in. No soap. Shampoo on wall too high to reach. Broken drain cover. No glasses.
- 1/5
Large credit card charge after checkout ... 290$+
- 2/5
First off, the location was perfect for our trip. Traditionally we have stayed in Times Square but this location was much more convenient. With that, our first room had an overwhelming smell of mildew. We had to change rooms on day 2. The second room was not much better, A/C struggled and almost of the electrical outlets in the room were not functioning. Transferring rooms was a hassle so we just stuck with it for the next 2 days.
- 2.5/5
Staff were nice. Rundown room. Took 30 minutes to get hot water. Towels were frayed.
- 3/5
There’s no water anywhere. Too expensive for the service provided
- 5/5
Great location, big room, nice and cleanand everyone was friendly.
- 4/5
Room no updated, no good cleaning. Bathroom in bad condition and dirty.
- 5/5
We had a great stay! Love the location and amenities
- 5/5
Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Loved being right next to Grand Central Station for ease of transportation.
- 1.5/5
Location Check-in took a while, and there was no coffee machine or complementary water bottle when I got to the room. I paid a lot of money for one night and was told that I cannot even have a kettle or a machine to brew hot water for my baby’s milk in the night. I had to use the cold water and risk my child’s health (she ultimately had a runny poo because of it!). Then at the check-out I was told that I could get hot water from a little shop but they will want to charge me for it !!! When I left my luggage at the check-out i was suggested that I should tip the porters and the charge per stored item is $4!! Luckily, the lady I did the check-out with was amazing, so empathetic and caring that she took care of my hot water from the shop and waved the luggage fee considering the treatment i received and the high room fee!! She was absolutely the best!
- 2/5
The bed was great but there was no microwave to reheat my food nor was there a washer and dryer I like to clean my clothes before going back home

- 2/5
We had the room for only 1 night, arrived late and needed to leave the next morning early. The morning of checkout we realized the shower did not work. The shower did not have a drain plug. Also the iron stand was falling off the wall. For the price we paid, this was especially disappointing. We did not have type to correct the issue with the shower and had to leave. Very sub par compared to the Hyatt regency we stayed at the 2 nights previously
- 4/5
Everything was great but during the night there was a banging noise from 10pm to the morning. It really made sleep difficult. I did tell the front desk in the morning.
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming and nice.
- 5/5
Staff was great , very helpful
- 5/5
The only thing I wished was available was direct parking but I realize now that since my last visit the city has changed that, not the hotel. The valet, Pete, was amazing and friendly. The traffic impeded his parking nearby and police got involved, but again, a city issue, not the hotel. The entire staff, from our welcome at the front desk to the restaurant giving us dessert (bread pudding for breakfast) just so our sweet tooth was satisfied, were professional and personable. The meals were delicious and the room comfortable. I will stay again and recommend Hyatt to all friends/family headed to NY.
- 3/5
The property is in a good location. The condition of the property is pretty tired. The staff is friendly enough but I wouldn't really say hospitable. Al in in all it was fine, hit not great.
- 5/5
Room was clean. I bit small but its new york city so that is expected. Great location though!! close to everything and the staff was super nice. It also was super safe despite it being in such a buzzing part of the city
- 5/5
Traveled with children! I was told to stay in Time Square but this worked out sooo much better! The train station is directly underneath the hotel and we were able to take different trains everywhere and come right back in the evening! Smooth trip! Close enough to Time Square and restaurants.

Popped in for a first time visit to New York for an event. The place was affordable for being downtown. Was right at Grand Central station so wherever we wanted to go was easily accessible by the Subways. Check in was easy and our room wasn’t huge by any means but that’s not most important to me. Just needs to be clean, a good shower and comfortable beds. Check check and check. Also having a mini fridge is a huge bonus. Gotta have cool drinks available at all times. Unfortunately the weekend was a rainy one for us. The fortunate thing though was the lobby had an umbrella checkout machine. Just sign up on the app and free umbrella use on weekends. Perfect. Just wish we saw it the first day. Overall the hotel took care of all our needs and was close to so many great attractions. We got to see so much stuff in our short few days thanks to this hotel. Will surely stay again in the future.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only problem was that I had no HOT water. It was barely tepid. However, the hotel gave me a $45 credit because of this problem. The bed was glorious: silky smooth sheets and firm mattress. The room was large and pretty. The hotel is attached to Grand Central Station so you don't even have to exit/enter through 42nd street should it rain or snow. Also, the $15 toward breakfast in their market was much appreciated. Were it not for the water problem (quite possibly unique to that room) I'd have rated the hotel a 5.
- 5/5
Typical big city stay. Great location. Next to Grand Central terminal with several street accessable subway entrances. I would recommend the Commadore club for a nice clean getaway with and a protected outside terrace. No street view but beautiful architecture above. A few short blocks from times square, Bryant Park, NYC Public library, tons of shopping. Best of all rent an ebike across the street and take a city ride. The Junior suite was very nice, roomy, very clean, it looked out to other walls. I would stay here again but ask for a room with a street view. For a downtown room it was quiet and well air-conditioned. Plenty of restaurants and Street food vendors. An expansive mall at Grand central and a huge food court on the lower level of the station just 5 minutes walk from the hotels front door. The breakfast buffet was $55 a person which caught us off guard. But good for their selection. Fresh fruits, meats, breads, blintz's, pancakes, eggs. Bacon, sausages, veggie omelets. We enjoyed our stay and will be back to this property.
- 5/5
A nice well located hotel with spacious rooms (especially for NYC) and well kept with a good ambience. Rude at check in but they put that right which was good. Bill wrong at check out so had to queue for 15 minutes as reception is not well staffed (presumably because you can express check out if your bill is correct). Breakfast overpriced but lounge very good.
- 5/5
Nice!
- 5/5
Situated right next to Grand Central Station, easy to get around the city from this hotel
- 4/5
I loved the location since it’s right next to Grand Central, making it incredibly easy to get around. However, the downward escalator was broken during my stay. When we checked out, we had to carry our luggage down by hand. Luckily, my bags were light, but I couldn't help but wonder how difficult it would be for seniors or those with heavy bags. Although I could have asked for help, it felt like nobody cared to fix the escalator during my entire five-day stay.
- 3/5
Not bad
- 5/5
And yet could not use the roof top patio. That was a huge disappointment that the hotel looks for more and more ways to take the travellers money.
- 3/5
The room was dirty. I had to have the staff come up to make the room warmer, he was able to do. The air filter had not been cleaned. There really is no breakfast. The $15 is nice but you quickly go over because everything is so overpriced. I've been here before this was a bit disappointing .Location is great.
- 3/5
Good location but the facility is old and not clean.
- 5/5
The room was quite large with a sitting chair and refrigerator, and the closet even had an ironing board. Our bathroom had a roll-in shower and there was plenty of room to roll around in the bathroom and back out to the bedroom quite comfortably. The bathroom also had safety bars in the shower (as well as a seat) and next to the toilet. Safety is a priority for us and I give the hotel 5 stars for that as well. Another plus the. Ihotel is in such a convienent location. Don’t miss the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station as you head out as it is one of the best and certainly iconic a New York institution you will ever find. So yes, I was thrilled with our stay at the Hyatt Grand Central and will definitely stay there again in September when I return to New York!
- 5/5
the room was clean, the shower smelled a little initially but it was most likely because it had not been used in a while. By the next day it was good ( no longer smelled). All the staff was very friendly, housekeeping also very friendly and efficient. It was an excellent experience and the hotel is in the perfect location for tourists. With the train station right next door and many attractions and restaurants just a few minutes walk away, it was excellent place to be!

They charge a resort fee that was never disclosed. What’s surprising is that there isn’t actually a resort on the property, just an old gym. They also charge guests to store their luggage on the day of departure, which is something I’ve never encountered before. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
I just stayed at Hyatt GC for a week. I have stayed in many NYC hotels and this was my favorite thus far. The rooms are very large by NYC standards and the staff was very accommodating. I arrived on an early flight and was able to check in several hours early and was given a late checkout by an additional hour. It is attached to Grand Central Station, so you never have to go outside to catch the subway. The only negative was that the bathroom lighting was dim, but most hotels are. It is super convenient to most anything either by walking or subway. I will definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The hotel isn't bad, I mean the rooms could use an upgrade. I tried using the iron for my wrinkled clothing and it was not working. The staff was very nice and overall it wasn't a horrible experience.
- 5/5
The place is at the center of everything. Very convenient. Restaurants and shopping. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Great location . Great Hotel overall
- 3/5
I dunno if these reviews are fake or not but the room was terrible. The mattress was difficult to sleep on, the bed didn't have a proper duvet - it looked like they merged two duvet covers together, the room always felt hot despite the a/c running at high. Overall the room was terrible and I expected a lot more from the Hyatt brand. The only good thing about the hotel was the staff.

- 4/5
Fantastic location with friendly and helpful staff. Deluxe king bedroom is large and clean with daily service. However it doesn’t come with in-room coffee maker, you have to ask for hot water heater. Bathroom is small and shower floor is slippery, hotel doesn’t offer shower floor rubber mat. We enjoyed our stay.

The atmosphere and energy of the hotel, as well as the staff too was excellent. And the rooms were phenomenal.

Room was nice and modern. The best part of the hotel is the location. Trains run from JFK Airport to Grand Central Terminal directly below this hotel making it easy to get to.

Absolutely loved my stay here, my husband and I just got back home from our trip and loved this hotel. The hotel location is perfect for easy transportation since it is inside grand central, it was so nice walking from our room out the lobby and directly into grand central to get on the subway without even going outside. Had a great view from the room too! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and spacious especially for NYC. Also really loved the endless hot water for the shower at this hotel lol, the water temp was always nice and hot for a nice end of day shower. Room was surprisingly super quiet and dark and had a super comfortable bed. Hotel has a market near check in desk as well which was super convenient for grab and go snacks. Super impressed by this hotel! Definitely one of my favorites from staying in several hotels in New York. Would absolutely recommend this and stay here again.
- 3/5
In all honesty, for the Hyatt it can be better, the escalator was down and overall hotel could be cleaner for a Hyatt hotel.
- 3/5
Mattress in standard king is so soft my back quit.
- 5/5
Great location. Only complaint is that the air conditioning in the rooms was not good. Even had them come look and they said that was as good as it got. The air system in the lobby was wonderful…rooms were a bit hot & stuffy.

The property as in lobby was great. However the room was not cleaned everyday and the bathroom smelled like a public bathroom. This is my 3rd time staying here and it has never been this bad, I will not be staying here again.
- 4/5
The room is a good size. The hotel looks clean and is well located (close to many tourist spots). The rooms are in urgent need of renovation. The bathtub has mold, and the sink looks worn out with broken parts.

Great stay! Room was spacious and clean. Don’t wait for elevators at all. Location amazing. Get to lobby from Grand Central without even going outside.
- 2/5
We will not stay there again FYI the room that was terrible is 1748.

Location: 10/10 Located in Midtown. If taking the metro to go downtown/uptown or beyond Manhattan, Grand Central Terminal just a few steps away. Appearance: Exterior 6/10. I noticed the street was dirty but that might be due to the homeless that seem to hang out right outside the main entrance and leave their trash. Interior 8/10. Lobby was fine. Nothing picture worthy. Hotel Room: 6/10 My biggest issue throughout my entire stay was my room was really stuffy. No matter how much I fidget with the thermostat the room never cooled down properly. Besides that, the room itself, the most basic was fine for my needs. Room was clean, hot/cold water on demand, and mini fridge included. No coffee maker which personally I never use anyways. I stayed for 4 nights. The deposit I thought was a bit too steep (but I knew that when booking). $500 dollars of which $195 was actually charged. Resort fee plus baggage check. Would I stay here again? Sure.
- 3/5
Good location!
- 3/5
The room was run-down and in major need of an upgrade. Very disappointing! For instance, shabby looking carpet, older and dusty furniture. The chaise lounge had very noticeable stains and spots. The bathroom was very gross looking—toilet had like permanent staining inside. There was hair on the sink and floor from previous guest, so goes to show the room isn’t cleaned properly. The room service was good, they did replace towels and made the beds daily, that was appreciated. The bedding and towels were visibly clean and no issues. The rest of the room just gave an icky vibe. There’s no room service nor breakfast served, which we understand beforehand. There is a market shop in lobby that has a weird system of allowing $15 credit towards purchases daily if you charge the room. Market prices were extreme (I mean, sort of expected in NYC) but still, $18 for a breakfast sandwich with no side or drink included is a bit much. Silver lining, food was fresh and tasted great. But we had to eat it on lobby bench, no tables or comfortable seating are provided in the market.

The hotel has two elevators. If you book more than one room, make sure they are served by the same elevator.
- 4/5
The shower drain cover was loose and the screws holding the drain cover down had come out of the drain cover and I stepped on them and cut my foot.
- 4/5
The property could use some upgrades to modernize but overall it was good. The room could have used some work, as one of the closet doors was jammed, the refrigerator door was broken, and food was left in it. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Our room was perfect, clean and comfortable. A little too small for my liking but we were hardly ever in the room. Staff were amazing and kind. 1. No coffee maker in the room and no complementary coffee in the lobby. This combination doesn't make for a good impression. 2. Room was tired looking. Bathroom was poorly designed (lean over the sink and hit your head on a shelf) 3. Lobby decor is more suited to a hospital waiting room than to the lobby of a major NY hotel 4. With the exception of the housekeeping staff (which was very pleasant) the staff members we encountered seemed as though they wished they were somewhere else. Positive Remark: Great location.

We have loved this hotel for a long time! I have stayed here for several years. It is clean, well staffed, everyone is very helpful. Usually everything is perfect, this time we had issues with the staff not leaving us washcloths and towels two days. It is also beginning to show some wear and tear, I had not noticed in the past. Other than that we are so happy with this very convenient to everything hotel!

Room was spacious and location excellent. We did have someone wander into our room at 1am one night but they quickly left. Concerning their key worked. Disappointed the hotel bar had very limited hours. Resort fee but no resort amenities! Super disappointed to be charged $4 a bag to store our luggage the day we left. Have stayed in other hotels in NYC and it’s always been complimentary!
- 4/5
Everything was okay, seemed a bit run down for a hotel of the price I paid for. Wi-Fi was awful, just not usable.
- 2.5/5
Location was good 1st room bathroom was dirty, looks like it was never cleaned from previous visit. Had to switch to another room.

The whole property just smells of really intense urine. It’s so bad that it made me feel sick. They do not clean the puddles or urine outside the hotel so you can actually smell when you are getting close to the hotel when you are walking outside. Our room also stank like urine and when we asked for a new room the new “clean” room had the lasts guests trash still there. If you enjoy smelling month old urine from many people stacked up and 10xed that’s stained into the concrete the you should stay here. No joke everything smells like urine here
- 5/5
We had an excellent time at Hyatt grand central. The hotel is in a convenient place to commute anywhere in the city . Most of the attractions are walkable distance. No complaints. Just a suggestion about the food market . The staffs could have been bit more nice and communicative .
- 3/5
Checking in was easy enough and the lobby is nice. Staff could have been friendlier but were instead discussing how soon they could leave. Bed was clean but everything else was kinda gross. The shower grout has never been cleaned, the couch in the room had questionable stains, the hair dryer was covered in dust. Shower took a while to get hot. The soap dispensers were all crusted up with old soap, should be cleaned. For two nights, we didn't complain, but for the price id expect a little more. Ive seen more well maintained hotels for less. Housekeeping staff was very sweet. Always said good morning and asking if we needed anything.

We were very disappointed in our experience, and the unpleasant staff. When I checked out I told the desk clerk that I was unhappy with my stay, and he just looked at me and handed me my receipt. Will be leaving a review on yelp.
- 5/5
Clean room, great suggestion for a late night slice, courteous staff
- 4/5
The front desk staff is not friendly. The market store in the hotel has double/ triple of the price of stores outside the hotel. While room service staff is very helpful and friendly. Room does not have coffee/tea set, basic hotel amenities such as complimentary toiletries.
- 5/5
Loved the Hyatt. Great location, great accommodations. Staff took such good care of me. Able to jump on subway and go anywhere plus so many options in walking distance. Didn't try the breakfast

The two room suite was an AMAZING deal! Jaw dropping size. Fantastic staff! Super clean. A great location being right next to Grand Central station.

Breakfast overpriced, ate breakfast out after first day.

- 5/5
Another nice visit. Greetings from valet to reception to lounge were welcoming. Room was very clean and confortable.
- 2/5
The moment I walked in staff informed me that they never offered valet services, and two minutes later a valet showed up. Our room smelled like mold and the bathroom had a strong urine odor. Ohhh not to mention the clogged tub! We had a terrible experience at the Hyatt Hotel.

Clean, comfortable and very quiet. Room temp perfect. Check in and out smooth.

I understand that this hotel is getting ready to be torn down so I can understand why they haven’t put money into upgrades. People are great. Location is great.
- 5/5
Clean Rooms
- 3/5
So far so good
- 5/5
Rooms were not clean. Dusty floors, showers and fixtures like lamps and table ( I had a suite) . The couch in the suite was horrible. The shower was broken so I had to rig it to use it. They don’t have smart tvs! That is a must in 2026. For the money I expected better with cleanliness. Otherwise everything else was standard nothing exceptional
- 5/5
The location of this hotel was super convenient and made it easy to get around. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again!
- 1/5
That was unfair! I have paid too much for hotel
- 5/5
I absolutely love staying at the Grand Hyatt, super nice staff, great vibe and centrally located. It is my favorite!! ;)

- 5/5
I love this hotel. This is my second day. The first time was years ago. There was a convention going on and even then just by the atmosphere and the staff that I encountered I knew I wanted to come back. when I visited New York of this time course they didn’t disappoint. Staff was helpful and courteous, and I just know each and every time I visit New York this will be my choice hotel .
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 5/5
Worked well for our purposes. Early check in was much appreciated.
- 5/5
Location! Location! Location! Great hotel great staff! We will be back! One area would be to upgrade the washrooms in rooms but minor
- 3/5
Don't be surprised that you'll pay occupancy taxes for each day, on top of the overall cost. Additionally, nothing at this hotel is free, including bottled water and bag storage. Good location right next to Grand Central.

The hotel has large rooms for NYC. They are clean and everything works well. It is an easy walk to many of New York's best attractions, including Bryant Park, Time Square and the Empire State building. The lobby market and bar are both good, with friendly staff.

Was good but very expensive the cafeteria inside and the breakfast
- 4/5
Buena relación calidad precio..!!

resort fees are over forty a day for I don’t know what. we picked it because it was right next to GCS. and that it was. housekeeping was good and the bathroom was nice enough
- 4/5
Great location.
- 5/5
The location, room and bed were great but more important, every staff person I dealt with was awesome. Bellmen, mailroom, bar, breakfast wait staff, just so professional. It was wonderful to feel looked after.

Initial impression was lovely, well situated hotel. However upon entering the room, there were 2 fridges, one of which was broken and just left in middle of beds; the desk chair was also broken; very few towels for 2 people and closet mirror was filthy with finger prints all over as well as loads of surface dust. Highlighted to reception; more towels put in room plus new chair but original chair and fridge NOT removed. Also found spelling bee ticket from 3 weeks ago and other litter between chair when packing to check out. Am still awaiting response from hotel manager.

Great team at check-in desk.

As many times before, everything is fine.Thank You!

Room was not the cleanest. Bathroom was dirty with hair. The picture on the wall wasn’t wiped down and there was splashes of substance on it.There was trash behind the ottoman in the bedroom. The bedsheets on one of the beds had some type of substance on it and some other dirty marks.
- 4/5

- 5/5
Clean room, very local.
- 2/5
Cons: Reception staff were terrible - we had the unfortunate luck of having to deal with Alex several times and he was disinterested and frankly quite rude. For the price of the hotel, additionally charging $4 an item to store bags after check out is really taking advantage of travellers with no other option. Rooms are ok, tired. No tea/coffee making facilities, not even a water glass in the rooms, we had one plastic cup to share between 3. Overall would expect more from the Hyatt brand.
- 4/5
I always enjoy staying at the Grand Hyatt. Expensive, YES, but “it’s New York.” The lady at the restaurant gave great suggestions for breakfast, as did the doorman for a seafood lunch. The location is outstanding as well, for visiting family in Long Island and Connecticut. Expensive, YES, but i will be back.

Excellent location. Great staff. Decent room. Good bed. Very small bathroom. Tub & sink didn’t drain. After 2 calls they fixed tub. Tried but didn’t fix sink drain.
- 4/5
The air conditioning was a little hot.
- 2/5
Shower did not get hot, $50 per day of unexpected fees.
- 3/5
Room was clean but sink was clogged, and bathroom has grout and damaged caulking with mold build up. No free breakfast and did not purchase. Room is your typical 2 star hotel. All the necessary but no luxury.
- 4/5
Clean, efficient, centrally located but too large.
- 5/5
The perfect location! Everything is close
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
Other than that, they have inconsistent housekeeping. Rooms are not cleaned regularly, so towels are not being replaced or basic supplies not being restocked unless requested. The check-in staff were helpful and accommodating and offered an upgrade (though it came at an additional charge), which did improve the stay for our group. Overall, the hotel works best if location is your top priority. Just be prepared for inconsistent service and amenities that may not fully match typical 4-star expectations.

Great location and decent accommodations for the price when bundled.
- 4/5
Great Location !! Kept fairly clean we just had issues with our bath tub drain but besides that our stay was extremely pleasant. They give you a $15 credit daily to use in the cafe we stocked up on water and other drinks for the fridge, great perk ! We will be back
- 4/5
Just okay.
- 2.5/5
Location was great. Room temperature easy to adjust. Room was falling apart. Bathroom looked like there had been a leak, sink had huge cracks, sink vanity was broken. Toilet paper holder was loose. No suitcase holder,, closet light wouldn’t turn off, dresser drawers difficult to open.

If you're planning on taking public transportation from the airport or around town - this location could not be better. Being connected to GCS made getting around so easy! The hotel itself is fine. They let us check into our room at 9:30am without any issue. The bathroom had a mildew-y smell and the hot water wasw luke at best, but overall ok. The beds were comfortable. And the hotel was pretty quiet. I would stay here again.

The room was clean! The staff was so nice and the bar was fun!
- 5/5
Breakfast at $45 is very high for what is offered, but the hostess and staff were very friendly and remembered me on just my second day.
- 3/5
Far too expensive for such an outdated room. Also the shower was leaking. The bathroom in general needed attention as the walls were full of moisture and water, ribbed just like the ceiling.

It was a nice stay close to everything

Our room was ready early which was a plus. This was the first time I had a room with a view- great location- easy to catch the train.

Amazing experience!!

They location was fantastic and the hotel was beautiful. Everyone was very nice
- 5/5
Great location, clean room and nice staff.
- 5/5
Our room was cool when we needed it most. Warm on the sudden cold spell. We were able to upgrade and check-in sooner. Also added the late checkout. We really appreciated how close we were to Grand Central Station. Definitely used the trains as much as possible.
- 1/5
Very dated, the staff feel like they give up. No coffee in room or even cups. Only benefit is its location, it has no other positives.
- 4/5
Room was large and clean. If your room is in area of elevators, asked to be moved, as you will hear the ring and people talking ALL night!
- 3/5
Breakfast was too expensive and issues with bathtub water not going down the drain.
- 4/5
Overall, the stay was good. It had the basic needs I needed for a couple of days in the city. No complaints.
- 5/5
I booked here twice. Great Hotel.
- 4/5
The room is not clean
- 5/5
Bad smell in room
- 5/5
I loved how close this hotel was to everything. Right in the middle and not in the heart of time square which is great if you don’t like a lot of noise like me. It’s connected to the grand central station which is perfect getting to the train quickly and exploring all of New York which is what I did. Very affordable and nice, spacious. Would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
I had a reservation for 3 nights but when I checked in and found out that there was no microwave, no coffee machine, no fridge and no kitchen, I decided to go somewhere else after one night stay but they wouldn’t not refund me the other two nights and I find it not fair and I will never book a room with Hotels.com and will tell whoever would listen what happened to me.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice. The staff was nice.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet room, great staff, very pleased with my stay in NYC!
- 4.5/5
Fantastic location, easy to walk around the Coty or jump on the Subway at Grand Central. Would recommend this Hotel just for that! The communal areas are great and the bedroom is good but the bathroom was very old and tired and looked like it been forgotten when there was a refurb.
- 3/5
Didn't use amenities however the room was dirty! The shower did not drain so we stood ankle deep in dirty water while trying to shower. The room just looked dirty. Smudges on the wall, dust in the corners, hand prints all over the door.....
- 2/5
A hotel waiting to be closed down. No amenities, no bar, no restaurant, no coffee /tea in room, ridiculously expensive shop in the lobby. Being knocked down in late 26/27.
- 2/5
Location Paying to store luggage Tired property in places Soulless feeling
- 4/5
Very good
- 2.5/5
Location I had a deluxe king and it was pretty drab. No Hyatt stay credit since I used Booking.com. $39 per day destination fee plus taxes on that!
- 3/5
It was okay During my recent stay at Hyatt Grand Central, I found the overall hospitality experience below expectations. Given my interest in hospitality, I pay close attention to details and service consistency, and I did not feel that level of attentiveness throughout my stay. In particular, in-room amenities felt limited, as basic provisions such as hot water or tea/coffee facilities were not available, which impacted the overall comfort of the experience.
- 2.5/5
There was no breakfast and the location was fine. For two guests there was one set of towels. There was no water in room and room was much smaller than expected.

Very nice quality hotel, have stayed 3 times at the property. Perfect spot in Manhattan for easy travel around the city. High quality facilities and daily room -keeping service. Staff is friendly and always present at the entrance.
- 3.5/5
I was surprised there were no coffee/tea facilities. If so I probably would purchased more in the market.

Places to eat not very good.

The location I could hear horn’s honking at 5am
- 0.5/5
Comfortable bed There was no hot water. They knew about the problem when I checked in but didn’t disclose it. There was no offer to move to a sister hotel or a discount. I was told ‘well at least you had a bed’

The rooms were very outdated. Seemed like they made weird upgrades to very old rooms. Also at time the water was brownish which was concerning.

- 2/5
The room was an okay size, but the bathroom was terrible. Not only was the bathroom tiny, the bathroom door looked like someone had taken it from the scrap heap. The cabinets were chipped and damaged, the toilet looked like it had come from a public bathroom. The shower was absolutely tiny, and the bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash were mounted above head height (and I'm 5'7", so it's not like I'm super short either).
- 5/5
The rooms are clean. The location is incredible to arrive by airtrain from JFK. Packages delivered are little expensive. Staff is very friendly. This is my 3rd time at Hyatt!!
- 5/5
The Hyatt Grand Central is a wonderful hotel in a great location. We were able to walk to many of the sites we wanted to explore while visiting New York City.
- 3/5
Bathroom was incredibly small. I have been a guest at this hotel for years but never had a room that wasn’t up to standard. Hotel has slipped in recent years. Breakfast buffet in the lobby is 75.00 per person. No room service. Just not a great place to stay anymore. Will look elsewhere in the future .
- 5/5
Room was spacious and clean, staff were very friendly
- 4/5
Very comfortable stay, loved how close we were to everything. Only downside there were no microwaves to warm up any left overs or a laundry area especially if your staying for more than a couple days. Other than that loved it!
- 5/5
The staff were amazing, especially considering the surprise blizzard that hit us on my daughter’s birthday. The location is great but it truly was the staff that made the stay special. Between the concierge helping us prep for the storm to the front desk staff making it easy to extend our stay, to the cleaning staff making sure we had enough supplies to last throughout the storm, I can’t thank Hyatt enough for making a stressful situation easier. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5

We would definitely stay here again. Great location. Staff was professional, especially Rosa, at the front desk. As we had a late flight the next day we were also able to make a say use reservation to stay here until 6pm. No hassle at all and we were able to stay in our original room!
- 4/5
The hotel location is brilliant and the hotel functions well.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Perfectly right in the middle of everything!!
- 3/5
The weather was quite cold during my stay, but the heater in the room did not work effectively, so it felt a bit chilly while sleeping. On the positive side, the location was very convenient. It was easy to access the subway and buses, and it was close to Times Square and SUMMIT, making it convenient to visit major attractions.
- 4/5
The room had plenty of space for our family of 4. It lacked a few items though that would have made the stay easier, like a coat rack for example. Locarion could not be better!
- 4/5
Easy check-in and check-out process. Very convenient location (there is an indoor breeze-way connecting the hotel and Grand Central Station). Staff was amazing. The property is very clean, although the you can tell there are some structural updates that can be made (like the tub). Very good stay for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Location was ideal
- 4/5
The hotel is practically central to everything in New York - it is next door to Grand Central station and still very quiet. Courteous staff, amazing foyer and brilliant setting. The room is spacious which is not known for hotels in New York and also.very clean but it needs a bit of TLC in my opinion.
- 2/5
Lousy amenities, the guy that took our luggage upstairs had a really crappy attitude
- 3/5
The beds were pretty uncomfortable
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, surprised with being able to check in early! Definitely a bonus!
- 5/5
The location was perfect from time square, train station, park and 5th Avenue and also central park Would definitely recommend and also stay again
- 5/5
Checking was a breeze. The location was convenient. The room was clean and well organized.
- 5/5
Location, clean room, and good size
- 5/5
Location. Connects to everything. You can stay in Times Square and be connected but if you don’t want all the noise and light Grand Central is the best. Reasonable price and quiet. Yes there is more luxurious places or exciting but this is the place where you can be comfortable and let the city be the focus.

All good.

Excellent location and great staff
- 5/5
Staff were very welcoming, hotel in an excellent location. Great room, lots of space.
- 5/5
Truly a really great experience! It was my first time in New York the staff at the hotel is very friendly from the door man to the front desk. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was to the liking. The hotel is a beautiful structure, and in a great location quick access to taxis or the subway. 10000/10 would recommend staying at Hyatt Grand Central.
- 3/5
The bathroom and main room were not very clean. Cabinet door was broken in the room and the shade was ripped. Bathroom sink was not clean and hard to use because of the shelf and the shower was very narrow and had to use a hand held shower hose Not one of the better Hyatts we have stayed in. Staff were very nice though and bar staff were fun and energetic
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the staff cleaned everyday and restocked everything. The fitness center is outstanding with plenty of top-of-the-line exercise equipment. Everyone was very nice and you can’t beat the location.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean. The staffs were very nice shopping was convenient overall it was a very nice day.

- 4/5
Staff is nice. Great hot water. Bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything good
- 4/5
I mostly stay at Hyatts cause I am a reward member and this one was very nice as far as aesthetics. The lobby area was gorgeous, it definitely had a luxury feel and the room was as comfy as I know a Hyatt to be so it felt like the best of both worlds. 3 reasons why I am not giving it 5 stars... this was the first time I encountered no ability to use my apps on the TV, I could only watch the cable available... unless I was doing something wrong. There were no washclothes... I didn't ask for any so not sure if they would've provided if so, but I am accustomed to them just being there with all the towels, and there was no tea/coffee maker. Other than that, staff was nice, heater worked, and room was spotless. Definitely staying here again.
- 5/5

to speak to manager 😡 got to the room he game us smallest on ugliest room I was so upset, ugh! We just needed a room to sleep we stayed out all day, but let me tell you who made the stay great and fun Pete The Doorman such a nice person. THANK YOU PETE

The room is obviously dated but spacious and there are plenty elevators, so minimal wait time unlike the other hotels in nyc such as Holiday Inn timesquare and Margaritaville, Arthouse and a hotel near koreatown. The staff are friendly and went ober and behond for is several times. I looove the location. Love the quiet walk on grand central in the morning when it’s empty. Love my morning doughnit anf coffee from doighnut plant. Plenty food selection from thw dining concourse and gc market without having to leave indoors due to dedicated access

The staff, the convenience of the location in the heart of midtown and the cleanliness of the room made us really happy to stay here. Nicer than it needs to be, and surprisingly quiet and restful inside.

Issues in my room, which was communicated at check-in as an "upgrade": safe locked so unuseable - never fixed after reporting, cabinet broke off on hinges when opened - never fixed after reporting; toilet leaking on floor after every flush, various light switches non-operational, TV losing wiring connections periodically, and ice machine on 25th floor was empty entire 4-day stay. That said - Felix at front door was excellent and arranged airport trip for return.
- 1/5
It took multiple phone calls and a trip to the front desk and 48 hours to get proper towels delivered to our room. In all seriousness, they’ve given up

Upon arrival after 4pm our room was not yet ready. They stated that it would be cleaned and ready for us within the hour, but we didn't get into our room till closer to 7pm. We were supposed to have a room on the higher floors (31 and up), but as they mentioned they were lacking workers, we ended up on the 22nd floor instead. The manager at the front desk was not friendly at all and we had to find ways for them to compensate us ... asked for a later check in and was granted it after arguing back and forth. Check out normally booked for 11am, we fought for 1pm and got that. Room was OK. A little small for 4 people as I originally booked a bigger room. Good points about this hotel are the following: Location was great. Getting $15 a day to spend at the market located on ground floor was nice and the lounge on the 16th, was a nice add on as well. I would recommend more selections in the lounge as it was very limited but again OK for being free as part of the hotel.

Room was very clean, access to subway was great, staff were all polite and helpful.

Shower was too complicated to turn on and tub was running very slow

No tv to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve. Very crowded lobby. Check in was quite late. No amenities in room like a shower cap. Pretty basic hotel but no serious issues. Pleasant stay. There was a breakfast place but they should offer free coffee in morning
- 2/5
No hot water in the sink for entire stay.

Clean room and nice staff

Our rooms were ready early which was very convenient. However, I booked 2 rooms (one for my son) and requested adjoining or connecting. They were on separate sides of the same floor, multiple hallways between. Also, I was disappointed there were no glasses in the room, not even plastic cups. And when I requested glasses at the front desk, I was told to go to the market. The market then wanted to charge me 82 cents per cup. Otherwise, the hotel is nice with a great location in midtown.

The room was not properly cleaned at all. There was a used tissue behind the garbage bin, chip crumbs on the floor beside the bed, and thick dust everywhere—on surfaces, furniture, and counters. It was very clear that the carpets had not been vacuumed and the bathroom counters hadn’t been wiped down. I actually used a towel to wipe the counter myself, and the amount and thickness of dust that came off was mind-blowing. We called concierge and specifically asked for the room to be cleaned, yet nothing was done aside from making the bed and replacing towels. None of the actual cleanliness issues were addressed, which shows a complete lack of attention to detail. To make matters worse, I opened a “clean” towel only to find a brown/reddish stain on it. I’ve stayed at many Hyatt properties and have never had an experience like this. This is, without question, the dirtiest Hyatt location I’ve ever stayed at. I’m not someone who ever writes negative reviews, but this situation is not acceptable. The lack of care from housekeeping is very concerning and made me question whether the bed linens had even been properly changed—how can guests trust they’re sleeping in a clean bed under these conditions?

Great location clean and nice rooms. Personnel at the front desk and bell luggage area not friendly.

This hotel was very nice and a great location. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, close to a ton of restaurants and shopping inside Grand Central Station. With it being connected to Grand Central Station you have convenient access to the Shuttle to Time Square and the 6 train to go uptown and downtown. Will stay here again.

The bathrooms in the rooms smelled moldy, but the check in staff were very nice a quickly checked us in to a different room. The staff was very professional and friendly but was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the room.

This hotel had the perfect location. Comfortable room. The $15 daily allowance at Market is a nice touch. Beautiful Xmas decorations in lobby. Nice hotel gym.

Stayed in the premium suite during week of New Year’s Eve. Huge suite. Lovely view. Pristine conditions of the room. Though it had a fridge, coffee maker, and place to store wine, it the suite absolutely should have had a sink and a couple sets of utensils as well as plates. The staff, from the valet to the front desk to Houskeeping to the engineer, were nothing short of AMAZING. An incredible experience for my guest and I.

We were travelling as a four. Two children. When we are arrived we were told that there was no double rooms and that they only had single rooms available. Basically told to like it or cancel the reservation. They said Expedia had overbooked. Check-in staff were rude and unhelpful. Had to complain to the manager to get any type of resolution of the issue.
- 2/5
We contacted the front desk to request a different room, but were told the hotel was sold out. Additionally, we were charged extra fees despite not using any additional services, which was frustrating and unclear. The hotel’s location is ideal, especially for first-time visitors to New York City. However, Hyatt needs to significantly improve its hospitality, service, and professionalism. I paid a considerable amount of money to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and we did not receive the level of service or experience we paid for or expected.

Historic hotel, so small rooms. Tiny tiny bathroom. Loud 24 hours a day (it’s New York!). Really busy; unfriendly staff. Great location though.

I would come back here and i highly recommend this location.

Clean and Vibrant atmosphere. All the staff were great, seriously- there were easily 10 different employees who were all welcoming and rocking their "A" hosting game! It was so busy that it was impressive.

They went above and beyond for us. The hotel was clean and comfy. Staff was friendly and let us check in and out with no issues. The location is amazing.

Everything was perfect clean and friendly staff beautiful hotel. It was quiet and comfortable. The only thing bad was that our hot water would run out after the 2nd person took a shower. And our room was reserved for 4 people.
- 4/5
The staff is excellent and very accommodating. I would rate a 5, but the hotel itself is very dated. Other than that, wonderful stay!!!

Also, minor note: the staff in the market place was very rude!

The hotel ran out of blankets, so our kids that had to sleep on rollaway beds in 2 rooms- did not have blankets. The hotel gave us towels. We were very disappointed- especially when we paid for 2 rooms for 4 nights.
- 5/5
The only thing that I would have loved is a microwave in our room to heat up our leftovers, but I was told that there are not microwaves in the rooms anymore.
- 3/5
Check in was awful. Ricardo, the check-in attendant was rude, dismissive and unfriendly. Hotel is in a great location. The room was very small. Not worth the insane daily rate. Weightroom was average. I would not recommend. The initial check-in really set the tone. The manager, Ashley Robledo, was too busy to assist us. Fortunately, another woman at the check-in counter helped us, which further verified that everything Ricardo told us was not company policy and he was simply looking to give us a hard time. Very poor service. Most disappointed.

Staff was not overly nice and the food was below average.

We had a great stay. Rooms were a great size and staff was awesome
- 2/5
The room needs updating and I had to ask for the sofa bed to be made up… the whole decor of the hotel is dark and gloomy in my opinion
- 4/5
The actual stay was fantastic. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the experience I had with customer service leading up to the trip. I called 4 separate times and every time they couldn’t answer my questions, put me on hold and then hung up on me. Every time. I didn’t have any confidence in this hotel because of that experience. But like I said, the actual stay and the people at the hotel were great. The rooms were clean and spacious and we had everything we needed.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Bathroom had bad odor of urine since we arrived. Even though it was clean daily the smell was still there.
- 1/5
The bathroom sink was a complete hazard. There was almost no space to wash your face, and it genuinely felt unsafe, like you could injure yourself just trying to use it. The towels were disgusting — old, worn out, and ripped. This shows a total lack of basic standards and attention to cleanliness. To make things even worse, I accidentally left my wallet in the room. The tracking showed it was still at the hotel, yet when I contacted them, they claimed they “couldn’t find it.” No help, no accountability, no effort. Very unprofessional and suspicious. The only good thing about this stay was the early check-in. Avoid this place.
- 3/5
Location is Great. Cost is to high for what you get for. The assigned room did not match illustrations at time of reservation.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, had great room upkeep. Staff was friendly, beds were comfy! My only “complaint” would be that the room description said it could fit 3, but we only had two king beds. We made it work because we have four young kids, and at check in, they accommodate us with joining rooms.
- 5/5
King size bed was spacious and comfortable. Comes with a mini fridge to store water and energy drinks. The room does not come with a coffee machine unless you ask for one.
