Staff is kind and welcoming. Hotel is sleek, calm, and clean. Continental breakfast is a nice assortment and a good balance of self-serve and staff-attended. Beautiful clean rooms with wonderful balcony views. Lovely rooftop garden is a bonus feature.

Since this is an older building it had some really interesting decor. Funky lighting and layout. Breakfast was very continental. They did their best trying to make it seem upscale but no matter how fancy the espresso machine is if the coffee isn’t hot then don’t bother! The staff were very gracious to heat my coffee in the microwave every morning. The location was central and had nearby subways. I was expecting to use the Juliet balcony and the rooftop. However, the noise and the view was less than stellar. No views. It was very annoying to have loud music playing on the rooftop in the evening. New York is noisy- depending on what floor and what side of the hotel you stay on will determine the noise level. Lots of construction. Weekends are noisy. Bring your earplugs. I think this hotel was overpriced based on the other hotels I stayed in for this trip. I was expecting it to be a lot nicer.

Great staff, convenient location, nice large lobby cafe area. Room and bathroom are both a little dated, double pane windows but street noise can still be heard. Our king room with sitting area/sofa bed is good space for a NYC hotel room at this price point.

Everything from start to finish was delightful. The lobby has 24/7 coffee and snacks. The staff was helpful getting us cabs and whatever else we needed.

Loved the small balcony onto which we could place our chair and ottoman, though Park Ave view would have been better. Rooftop was empty in April, but a nice escape. Included breakfast was modest but certainly adequate with consistently good coffee. All staff we encountered were pleasant. Great central location. Try Sundays Well, nearby. Some small cosmetic demerits: An empty cabinet for a refrigerator (we did not expect one, but would have been nice), holes in the beside tables where once were lights apparently.

This is one of the best New York City hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are spotless. The lobby is extremely inviting and comfortable. They have a very fussy coffee machine which I took full advantage of. The included continental breakfast is just right for starting the day off. They offered bagels, muffin, different yogurt, and fresh fruit. I highly recommend and look forward to my next stay.

The Hotel Giraffe is a lovely, boutique hotel near the Flatiron Building. The location is great with many food options nearby. Shake Shack and Eataly are across the street. Also, close by is the Museum of Math and the Museum of sex. We had a hiccup with check-in on the day we arrived, but the staff was helpful and apologetic. We appreciated the snacks, fruit, and drinks in the lobby during the day and in the evening. The continental breakfast was very good, and the breakfast staff was also great. Overall, a calm and cozy place to stay amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

The hotel size (73 rooms), and the foyer felt peaceful and unhurried. The room was pleasant and quiet. We loved the decor and style - mid century Viennese. We felt the quality of the breakfast could have been better, although the coffee was good.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was spotless when we checked in and was serviced the next day. My only complaints were that the room safe was inoperable and there were no slippers as advertised. I complained to the front desk about the safe and was told that someone would come fix it. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and quiet. Good pressure in the shower. Very clean bathroom and tub. The continental breakfast was good. Nice selection of pastries and breads, yoghurts, fruits, hard boiled eggs, instant hot cereal, col cereal and hot coffee. For some reason, there wasn’t any half and half or cream. There was cappuccino machine in case you needed a fancy drink. The hotel is centrally located in a great neighborhood.

This is where I stay if I want to be in the flatiron district. Great property with professional staff and light breakfast bar. It is walking distance to Eataly and some of my favorite restaurants. Lovely and comfortable, I am never disappointed.

The only thing i found to be lacking was enough area in room bathroom for toiletries. The rolling cart helped a little but it just seems that for the size of the bathroom, it should've been designed with more counter space. Also, one can easily bang their head on the glass shelf above the pedestal sink when washing their face.

Comfortable and very clean room in a great location. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Doesn't make sense to have to wait for an elevator to go downstairs to the bathroom from the lobby.

This is our second time visiting Hotel Giraffe. Quieterarea than times square, which suited us down to the ground. Close to good resteraunts and not far from the main shopping districts and downtown areas. Staff were polite friendly and very helpful. Room wes very clean and no issues.

The AC didn't work that well, so my room was a little warm. And there was no fridge, I asked for one but was unable to get one. Always nice to have a fridge to cool drinks and if you have leftovers etc...Also, a little dark in the room, could use some more lighting.

Bathrooms are tired halls where freezing cold soaps where impossible to pump out. Lighting is terrible . Low wattage bulbs and 8 lamps you had to turn on or remember how they where turned on. The desk doesn’t have 1 modern plug in or switch.

Shower head broken, balcony door broken, TV not plugged in, zero amenities to make a comfortable stay (coffee/tea in room, lotion, hand soap, refrigerator, slippers, etc). When we called for help, the solution was a smaller room on a lower floor. For NYC off season, the price I paid for this room was a terrible value.

Great boutique hotel!

It’s pretty, tucked into an area of bustle with eateries, pharmacies, shops, and parks. Near the subway, 20 minutes by cab from off broadway plays. I love this place, especially the balcony outside the sliding glass door of our room. What I’d change is the piped in music in their lovely roof garden. It’s a bit overdone, but I prefer jazz to Strauss. That’s just me.

Our stay was lovely and well located for our holiday activities. Of course Manhattan is a bit pricier than other places so that takes some understanding in advance. We accidentally booked a second night on one of our rooms that my daughter could not use. They were very strict about allowing us to cancel and finally gave in to a credit for future use but only six months to use it. I felt this could have been more flexible considering we had seven other room nights booked for our holiday event.

Continental breakfast was good. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Room was a good size. Nice little balcony. Genuine, lovely hotel and happy to recommend.

Hotel Giraffe is a lovely small hotel with a charming old-fashioned feel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was quite good. The location is a little noisy because it is right on Park Avenue.

Really liked the coziness of the place, nothing fancy just efficient-room was spacious. Our only remark is that the bed could have been wider, other than that plenty of space to with no clutter and unnecessary things. Breakfast was simple but tasteful, no fancy eggs, just the essentials to fuel up and explore the city. Nice idea was the 24/7 snack bar, where you could get coffee/tea/water/choco bars any time from the breakfast place next to the reception. Location is 5 minutes walk from the flatiron building and area, and just 1 minute above is the green line station where you can go directly towards the Plaza corner of the park, or in Soho. As mentioned we could have a bigger bed compared to the rest of the room, but definitely not a negative issue.

The property was in a superb location. It felt safe at every time of day/night and it is super near to KTown and even Time Square. I walked everywhere when we stayed here and it was the perfect central location to everywhere. The property itself was clean and the room was phenomenal. We even had a balcony which was a welcome surprise! All the staff were super kind, but there was a gentleman that I saw regularly that was always so nice and we would regularly chat. It was like seeing an old friend and he single-handedly made my time here feel comfortable and welcoming. I believe his name was Chris or Christian (he had glasses and a mustache and would work the night shift a lot, he has a pet cat that we talked about). Overall, I'd definitely stay again. The staff were accommodating, the room was comfortable and spacious, and I loved that they had a beverage/snack station in the lobby 24/7. Very nice touch! I didn't have anything that came up during my time here that I didn't like. The staff was great, accommodating and very polite.

What we particularly liked about the Hotel Giraffe was the small scale of the hotel and that one could comfortable hang out in the lobby area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The balcony was an added plus to an exceptionally spacious, clean and comfortable room. The bathroom was large and well stocked. Plenty of storage for our luggage. 24 hour lobby access for unwinding after a busy day in the city. Polite and helpful staff.

This hotel is well situated if you don’t want to be in Midtown, but you want be close to it. There is a very convenient subway station two blocks away. The hotel furniture and carpets are a little worn, but it is clean and comfortable. We especially liked the free tea and coffee, and snacks and fruit in the lobby. That was a very nice touch, which made the hotel very inviting. I would definitely consider going back to this hotel.

I checked in and had to immediately request a move from my first room due to the smell of sewage/sulfur. I was moved quickly. However when I awoke in the new room the next morning my shower would not operate. I was preparing to go to a business meeting and there was no engineer that could fix the issue. This room was an expensive room and they offered $100 off for no shower. That is unacceptable. The reviews are correct the property is clean but if you can’t provide basic expectations you should not be in business. The offer to address the issue with $100 off was insulting. My room should have been fully compensated. I was late to my meeting.

Loved the location of hotel and convenience of several subway stations. Room was great and with a balcony. All the staff and management were wonderful, very helpful and kind. We travel to NY several times a year and have always like trying out new hotels, but liked the Giraffe so much we plan on making it our hotel choice for future trips.

My wife and I visit NYC two to three times per year to see our daughter who lives in the City. The Girafee is a very nice, quiet and well located hotel. The staff is friendly the rooms with king size bed are very comfortable and very clean… We have stayed over a dozen times, so we can definitely recommend the hotel.

We were never told there WAS a bar. I found out as we were checking out and I was looking for a restroom downstairs. But dealing with all the staff there was great.

The location of the hotel is ideal, and for it being located in NYC it is relatively quiet, so that you can get a good nights rest. I would definitely stay here again.

We checked in at almost midnight and had a swift easy experience- plus, we got a decaf latte to take up with us…much appreciated and much needed. Every single staff member we encountered went out of their way to be helpful. Our room and bathroom were immaculate. Beds and linens were exceptional. Would stay here anytime!

This is easily my favorite hotel in NYC and frankly my favorite hotel of any place I have ever stayed. The staff is what makes it’s special; they are consummate professionals. The hotel is clean and in a great location.

The giraffe was in a great location. It was clean. It was quiet. The air conditioning worked. The only thing that I would say is that it was quite hot in the hallway and the elevators were extremely slow and looked worn.

The property was very close to transportation and many restaurants but because it was located on a busy corner it was very noisy with sirens, horns honking and construction trucks passing by all night long. The building opposite it was under construction. The room was outdated but very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was no fan or window in the washroom. Although there was a 24 hour snack program in the main lobby and a good continental breakfast it would have been nice to have a coffee machine and a fridge in our room. There was a lovely rooftop patio but it was only available to us for part of our stay. Although there was a bar and restaurant associated with the property it was in the basement rather than on the main floor. The staff was very polite and attentive and tried to make our stay enjoyable.

The hotel lobby is nicely decorated and convenient to meet friends. The complementary breakfast is a plus.

My room was not ready at 3 pm when I arrived. The bath tub/shower did not drain well. Room does not have coffee maker or phone charger. If you forget your charger, front desk not helpful. Compared to my past stays, seems that The Giraffe has lost its special qualities, its personable service, and its attention to detail.

Nowhere in the city is cheap, but what you need is value and this hotel gives that Location- walkable to everywhere, close enough to everything but just out of the craziness People - super friendly staff who really look after you Clean - clean, comfortable room. Even had a balcony Facilities- breakfast, snacks, roof top, super place Many thanks and we will be back 😊😊

The hotel is a Jem. Everything from beginning to end of stay was perfect. Very satisfied and grateful. Highly recommend. Will stay again hopefully for a better reason. Will tell friends and family. Continental breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choices. 24 hour refreshments and fruit and bars a plus. Great location and wonderful stay. Excellent staff and service. Clean rooms and hotel with very comfy beds. Amenities in room were top notch.

Nice, quiet hotel with a simple breakfast included. The staff were super kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the windows seem to block the street noise much better than other area hotels, which is a huge plus! We did however have trouble with our air conditioner, which would cool the room when we were not there, but overnight would be 10 degrees warmer than what we set it to. I would not stay there in the summer, but it was manageable in the winter.

The hotel should have soft anti allergic pillows. The ones available were not very comfortable.

We stay in Manhattan a lot and this was a lovely hotel in a great location. Staff was all nice and helpful. The King Suite was spacious and the balcony is great on a spring day. Snacks and drinks in the lobby all day. This is likely to become our new favorite when in town

Our room was very comfortable and clean, with french doors that opened onto a small balcony. The included continental breakfast offered in the lovely lobby was tasty and healthy. The location in the Flatiron neighborhood was convenient to the subway and excellent dining. We highly recommend Audace, located in the same building as The hotel.

Stayed at Hotel Giraffe once again because I love the location. We had a king suite and while the furnishings felt slightly dated, it was clean and comfortable. I was a bit surprised though that there was no mini fridge or bar for a suite, but staff brought over ice promptly when I requested it. Otherwise the team is friendly and hospitable and the breakfast buffet a nice touch.

We had a great stay. People in the front desk and in the lobby were there to greet us every time. Very pleasant. The continental breakfast was well stocked and maintained throughout the entire morning and was included in the rate. The one drawback, is that there is no workout facility.

I go to nyc 4-5 times a year and always stay at the Giraffe. Location, property and convenience as well as a genuinely welcoming staff make it my place to always stay in the city.

Good hotel with breakfast included. Nice big rooms but the fridge was missing in our room but our friends rooms. The electric window blinds are not very good and let in quite a bit of light, but the hotel is in a good location.

The hotel staff were helpful and kind, I had to book last minute when another hotel I was at nearby lost heat. The room was so clean and I felt comfortable there. Highly recommend this if you enjoy a smaller high quality hotel 10/10

Very cozy stay. A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. My only complaint is the thin walls. You can hear everything outside of your room in both the hallways and the streets, and people can hear everything within your room.

Stayed for 1 night with an oversized vehicle. Room had a juliet balcony with vews of Park Avenue. Nice rooftop garden with seating. Beautiful hotel with character. Very professional and friendly staff.

We had an exceptional stay at Hotel Giraffe. I made a mistake with my booking and the staff helped me get a different room. the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. the continental breakfast was nice and the location was convenient to all parts of the city. we would absolutely stay here again. my teens said this was their favorite location in nyc as we could walk uptown, midtown, and to soho.

I used to stay in this hotel years ago when my daughter studied in NYU. It is always comfortable, clean and in a convenient location near the subways. Now I visit NY 2-3 times a year and stay at a Marriott. Hotel Giraffe is still a comfortable place to stay in but just needs some TLC. The room we stayed in is quite outdated but clean.

24/7 food & drinks in the lobby was extremely convenient and much appreciated. We’ll definitely be back.

Liked the hotel very much, and would stay again. We loved having the tea and coffee bar available. Didn't feel as though the windows kept the noise out well, but hey it's New York. Great location. Even though we had a "do not disturb" sign out, a cleaning person entered our room. I had one concern where a door man seemed to be riding a cleaning gentleman. I could be wrong, but he seemed to be bullying the man cleaning the floors and tables. It made me very uncomfortable. The man was speaking in another language, so I'm hoping that I misread the vibe.

The Hotel is close to transportation, easy access to different sights, and the staff is professional and helpful. The breakfast is convenient and the setting in the lobby is friendly. I did not like that there was a refrigerator that was for storage and not a cooling refrig. I was told it was only to store something that does not need refrigeration. The hallway rugs are outdated and need replacement. The room had new rugs and were spacious. Loved my stay-hazzle free stay. Thank you. I will visit again.

The room was large by New York standards and the room was very clean and in very good condition. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant. The neighborhood appears to shut down by 9pm even on the weekend. I couldn’t even by sparkling water at CVS because they closed so early. No vibe. Not for me.

From check-in to check-out, we were greeted with genuine smiles from the doormen and front desk agents. Though it is a boutique hotel without a gym, gift shop, or pool, we appreciated the views of Park Avenue from our Juliette balcony in our suite, the beautiful rooftop, and the complimentary continental breakfast offerings in the lobby. The midtown location was also ideal. We loved being within walking distance to the Union Square Greenmarket and many local dining, entertainment, and shopping options. We’ve stayed at other NYC properties in the past, and this was our favorite. Can’t wait to return!

I just love my stay at this hotel. It’s not over-the-top glitzy, but very, very comfortable, quiet, with an incredibly nice staff. Everything was ideal for me.
