Guests generally have a positive experience at the hotel, appreciating the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and convenient location. However, some guests have issues with the size of the rooms, noise levels, and various amenities such as breakfast vouchers and internet connection.

It is very nice an well kept. The elevators are really small.

$10.00 credit for french cafe next door is a great perk
- 5/5
Beautiful, well-appointed hotel in perfect location on west side. Rooms were very clean (a super important factor for us) and all levels of staff were friendly. Got excellent recommendations for local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The pastries and coffee were very tasty from the bakery next door for breakfast served by very friendly staff. Could have perhaps offered slightly more than $10 though. All in all a fantastic hotel.
- 4/5
Wonderful location on UWS. Clean, nice staff, fabulous breakfast at Mille Feuille every day that’s included in room rate. Will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
A perfect oasis during our busy NY week. Bed was comfortable, great shower pressure and bathroom amenities. Did not hear any neighbors or street noise. The view out 4th floor window was a charming cluster of buildings and fire escapes. The bar was inviting, classy and jovial (we caught the end of the insane knicks comeback playoff game with excited guests). They even had a fun deal where they handed us a free glass of wine after a busy day! The Parisian coffee shop attached was excellent and a great quick stop before a day of adventure. The doormen were quick to help us get a cab. Great location near cute restaurants on Upper West Side. Only two blocks away from the 1 train subway. AC was running smoothly our entire stay (thank goodness bc some days were very humid and hot). We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Great service, convenient location and the breakfast coupons at the bakery downstairs are awesome. Rooms are perfect.
- 4/5
Being a regular at your hotel, the folks there have indeed fun and happy to see around. And, generally clean and all that but even just the waits at an elevator up to rooms that are getting smaller.
- 4/5
The hotel lobby and bar were beautiful and reminiscent of old New York. The staff could not possibly have been more helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and very functional. The room was small. A little more attention to decor would have been nice. The “included breakfast”. Was $10 at the adjoining bakery. The variety was limited and the pastries were all dry. One morning we had a quiche which was not good at all.
- 5/5
The front desk staff was so welcoming from the minute we walked into the lovely lobby. I was surprised to learn that there are daily free walking tours (at different locations) as well as a complimentary apero (wine and cheese) hour each day. The credit at the connected bakery is an excellent way to provide included breakfast and the quality was quite good. Shanies and her colleague at checkin are the best!!
- 5/5
This was an excellent stay! Anytime I’m going to New York, I will be staying here. The place is so clean, very secure (three locks on the door). The staff was consistently helpful. And the $10 coupon that they gave you for breakfast is quite substantive because the café has delicious food that will fit the budget. I had quiches that were $10, or sandwiches that were $10. Haven’t seen that kind of price in the upper west side in New York. I really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, happy hour every day 5-6 for a free glass of wine. Helpful staff. Will store your bags before or after check out. Also gives out vouchers for 10 dollar breakfast at the cafe.

Amazing location. Beautiful neighborhood Tiny rooms. AC didn’t work great.
- 5/5
Staff was AWESOME! Valet parking was so convenient! The concierges helped us very efficiently with our luggage and all the staff was EXACTLY what you would expect in a higher end hotel! We would stay here again!
- 3.5/5
Good location for visiting upper West Side. Walking distance from Central Park and the Hudson River. Comfortable bed. Big verity of rooms. Some are terrible. Tiny and dark. Others are more spacious and lit. I think they should have a dedicated lower price listing for the tiny rooms which face a wall. This would save frustration. They did move me to a better room upon my request.

Location and suites looked clean and renovated Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a serious health and safety concerns, my daughter developed multiple bite marks overnight that appeared consistent with bed bug bites. We immediately reported the issue to the front desk and requested plastic bags for potentially contaminated clothing. Other than providing the bags, there was no meaningful follow-up from hotel staff. What was most disappointing was the lack of response afterward. I contacted the property multiple times through Booking.com and directly, but received no reply. As a guest, I expected the hotel to take a reported health concern seriously and communicate with us regarding the issue. The location is convenient, but the handling of this situation fell well below expectations. I hope management improves both its response procedures and guest communication in the future.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable and nicely styled. It would have been helpful if an extra blanket or throw and robes were included in the room. The location of the hotel was ideal for visiting Lincoln Center, the Met, Central Park, and the National History Museum.
- 5/5
The French pastry shop was excellent for coffee and a pastry for breakfast. The hotel is very close to the subway and an easy walk to The Museum of Natural History, The Met, and the Guggenheim. The only reason I did not give it a 5 Star is because of our bathroom. It was very, very small, which is not a problem. But it could use a soap dish for the hand soap and more hooks to hang towels on. Maybe even a shelf to put toiletries while using them.
- 3.5/5
I really liked the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, shops and Central Park. I think the price is high. The room was only moderately clean. There was never any water in the room; we always had to get some from reception. The same went for towels; we always had to call to get more.

Front desk and front door staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Rooms are classic for the era the hotel was built. French bakery attached to lobby was excellent and the coupons supplied by the hotel essentially cover the cost and a pastry with coffee. Hotel location is pleasant and convenient. I would definitely stay at Hotel Belleclaire again!

Hotel location, staff, rooms, and bakery attached were all amazing! Very clean, quiet, safe place. We will be back!

Really charming place with lovely staff and a delightful cafe for breakfast coffee and croissants. My room was perfect, small but well appointed with desk and chair, lovely bed, vintage dresser, very comfy towels and linens and pillows. A/C & heat were easy to adjust; shower was piping hot, luxurious. Room overlooked enclosed courtyard garden, so it was quiet and pretty to look out into trees. Slept like a dream. Highly recommended.

The hotel has a great French Bakery on the main floor and you get a breakfast voucher to it for everyday you stay there The best room in the hotel are the Broadway Kings. An oval room withe 4 windows looking down on Broadway. This room is 390 square feet and has a refrigerator and microwave. A beautiful location and beautiful hotel

We had a five night stay recently. We had a great time. The employees there were all so helpful and nice. Dennis the Bellman was so friendly and helpful. We loved the little bakery next door and got breakfast and coffee there in the mornings and the pastries were excellent. We got drinks in the bar last night and it was nice and quiet and relaxing. The elevators are tiny and just hold two people but we were on the third and fourth floors so we ended up just taking the stairs all the time because it was faster and easier (a plus was without having time to work out, the stairs gave me my workout each day). I wouldn't want to be higher up though. The neighborhood is nice and the front desk people recommended Serafina across the street for pizza and their food it just amazing and nice ambience too.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel! Very classy and cute and loved the neighborhood! Rooms are awesome (king Broadway view room) and the bar is really cute and French bakery was a huge bonus! Subway is one short block away and there are lots great little restaurant's nearby. Zabars salmon cream cheese bagel is a must! Loved parperdellas Italian too. You will love staying here away from the touristy areas but only a subway ride away!
- 2/5
Staff were friendly and responsive. The room doors are heavy and being in a corner room with 4 rooms nearby, every door opening and closing was incredibly loud & disturbing. I realize it’s a function of upgrade design, but will keep me from future stays.
- 2.5/5
We had to ask three times to get a box of tissues

- 5/5
A complimentary breakfast voucher for the excellent French bakery adjoining the hotel was a lovely bonus. Every member of the staff was pleasant and helpful, especially Maria at reception, who graciously assisted me with every small need. I highly recommend Hotel Belleclaire and very much look forward to my next stay.
- 5/5
Gorgeous property in an excellent neighborhood with easy subway access. Food options nearby. Can’t wait to go back!
- 2/5
The size of our "premium" (i.e.additioal cost) room would not suit a luggage rack. It was tiny. Just because a room is labeled boutique doesn't mean its comfortable. Back to the Lucerne.
- 5/5
Hotel Belleclaire is a beautiful, well-maintained, older New York hotel. The rooms have all the modern conveniences, yet maintain their character. Everything was very clean and in excellent working condition. Using the daily $10 voucher at the bakery to try all the exquisite pastries was a special treat. The 72nd and 79th subway stations, Natural History Museum, Central Park, and Bloomingdale's Outlet are in walking distance.

Neat, clean, well-maintained. There was a problem with the hot water on our second day.
- 5/5
This was my third time staying at the Belleclaire hotel. The location is perfect- a short walk to Central Park, restaurants, bars, subway. The rooms are small, but comfortable and the staff is the friendliest. They just seem like they really enjoy working there and happy to have guests over. Can’t wait for my next visit.
- 4/5
Cons: no fridge, coffee/tea in room, there’s no included breakfast ($10 coupons given for the cafe next door), no toothpaste in room (was told to go buy one as hotel is out of toothpaste).
- 5/5
I appreciated the chromecast capability in the room and the free water. The staff were so friendly and even gave my daughter some macarons from the bakery next door when they learned it was her birthday.

close to restaurants and central park. The AC unit in our room didn't work. It took 2 days to get a room change. We were promised a credit due to the inconvenience but have yet to see a credit or actually hear back from management. The rooms are very small. The bakery for breakfast is nice and convenient, but does not have any allergy friendly options and is very crowded in the mornings. Staff was friendly and helpful, but management does not seem to follow through with commitments.

As always it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel Belleclaire. The staff are always courteous and nice. The property is immaculate. Ww like the location of the hotel. It is close to Central Park Times Square and other tourist spots. Lots of good restaurants walking distance from the hotel. We will stay there again if in New York.

- 4/5
Charming boutique hotel. Friendly front desk staff. Only negative was we couldn’t get our room cold enough. The hotel provided a fan to use in our room which was helpful.
- 3.5/5
Pleasant staff, comfortable beds, clean and inviting property Bathrooms are outdated, especially old style showers without handle; old boilers needed to be reset daily in order to maintain hot water in the showers. Advertised with breakfast but hotel doesn’t have a proper restaurant but a coffee and pastry shop usually very crowded; a $10 daily coupon barely pays for a cup of coffee.
- 3.5/5
Love the location and the staff. The cafe is nice for breakfast.
- 4.5/5
Very friendly and professional staff. My only concern was that the air-conditioning was not working in the lobby area due to the excessive heat in NYC. My room AC worked beautifully, but I felt sorry for the staff.
- 4/5
The place is nice, clean and friendly. The amenities are minimal ( no coffee, no soap bar, no place to sit in the room). For the price and good location it’s still good. A little noisy as you can hear guest often late at night.
- 5/5
The rooms are typical for NYC, small but clean and the staff were all very helpful and courteous. Great location
- 4/5
They can make some improvements in the amenities. Also, the coffee and breakfast offerings need to be stepped up as even the low low end hotels offer a coffee machine, as opposed to a 20 minute line downstairs to use your voucher in the mornings.
- 4/5
Location Breakfast No refrigerator in the room Impossible to make coffee in the room
- 5/5
great location in Upper West Side, nearby Central Park and the subway station, which is very convenient. Everything was very clean, and the room was more spacious than expected, being in NYC. The $10 breakfast vouchers was enough for us to have a quick breakfast. The sink was clogged when we got there, but they sent someone up to fix it right away.
- 4/5
Hotel Belleclaire is in a great location for exploring New York, with the subway nearby and Central Park and Lincoln Center a nice walk away. The rooms are clean and simple but noisy. My headboard wall abutted the bathroom in the next room, so pipe noises were abundant, and I heard everyone in the hallways making noise. Recommend earplugs. The vouchers for the bakery and bar were a bonus.
- 5/5
This is one of the best places you can stay at. It’s an incredible value: the staff bends over backwards for their guests; the breakfast is great; it’s ideally located near all of the amazing places on the UWS of Manhattan (American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, great restaurants, etc…) I can’t say enough about the Belleclaire.

The French bakery is great. The location is excellent! I had to call three times to get someone to help with the air conditioning. The elevators are seriously small but I understand it's an old building.

I love the location of the hotel. The rooms are nice, though I am not a fan of the interior rooms. Interior rooms depress me a bit, but this hotel is convenient, in a nice area, with very friendly staff.
- 4/5
Historical building in nice location. The upper west side is close to Central Park and has a quieter more village feel. Bar area nice. Free walking tours were excellent as were staff Rooms and bathroom quite small.Breakfast is in the bakery with a voucher system. So we had to queue everyday for coffee and a pastry. Limited selection & yogurt was only healthy option.
- 5/5
Breakfast was next door at a French bakery that was very busy. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting at 5 pm along with cheese and crackers. It was graduation weekend, so the prices were a little high.
- 3/5
The room was small and sparse. The window looked out onto a brick wall that was about five feet beyond the windiw. On twonif our four nights the water in the shower did not get hotter than warm. The soap holder in yhe shower was broken and the tile at the far end of the shower was discolored, seemingly with mold. There was no minifridge in the room.

The staff was amazing! We checked in on Mothers Day and they handed my mother complimentary macarons! The two double suite was a spacious room for NYC, and the bathroom and shower was large also. The rooms, hallway, and lobby was exceptionally clean. The hotel location was also ideal, a couple blocks from the subway and a short walk to Central Park. Being able to grab a coffee and pastry next door each morning was also so convienent to start each day. I cannot say more great things about this hotel and plan to stay here again for next visit to the city!!!!

I made this clear to the front desk but they were suprised, but if you read the other reviews you would have known.

Location, location! Perfect position in a lovely part of the city Very, very small and basic rooms, bathroom was tiny and very stuffy/smelly with little ventilation. Walls so thin that you could hear conversations from next door, not to mention everyone’s alarms at 6-7am and the showers until late at night.

Guests are given $20 vouchers for the bakery. AC cooled the room and maid service was great.
- 1/5
Clean and good location, but. . . . . I read great reviews about this hotel and I wish I was writing one now. Instead of experiencing a 4 star experience I got a room which was barely worthy of 2 stars. It was more akin to a store room with frugal consideration for its presentation. The room was barely 3 meters X 3.5 metres in size and with the "deluxe queen bed" there was barely any room to manoevre. The room was noisy and you could hear everything going on in the corridor outside the room. On the positive side the room was spotlessly clean and the hotel's location was good but for £254 per night it was very poor.

Cigarette smoking smell in the assigned room. Requested room change. New room with dirty lacking floor vacuum. Waking barefooted left hair from previous user on feet. Truly unacceptable. Staff unresponsive to complains most likely due to my late evening checkin. Quality/price very low.
- 4/5
The hotel itself was very clean, and we appreciated the attention to detail in both the rooms and common areas. Another nice touch was the $10 daily vouchers they provided to use toward drinks or coffee at the lobby restaurants, which made mornings especially convenient. A couple things could be improved. The lobby bar closed at 11 PM and even shut down early one night while guests were still enjoying drinks. When visiting New York, it would be nice to have the option for a later nightcap, so keeping the bar open until midnight would make the experience even better. We were also placed in a room near the fitness center, and unfortunately we could hear the door slam every time someone entered or exited, especially early in the morning. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend requesting a room farther from the gym area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would still recommend Hotel Belleclaire for its great location, cleanliness, and exceptional staff.
- 3/5
Great location, staff very helpful. Very small room, but comfortable. No hot water - when we raised it we were told this was because it’s an old building basically. Don’t stay here if you need to shower! Breakfast was a voucher for the patisserie which was lovely food - but a HUGE queue so make sure you leave time to pick it up.

This is a small hotel, reasonably priced hotel (for New York) in a very desirable location. I would compare it to many smaller European hotels I have stayed in. The hotel staff are very attentive, courteous and responsive. My room while a bit spartan was quiet (for NY) with an excellent bed. The bathroom was spacious enough and well-appointed. The hotel features a happy hour with complementary wine and charcuterie which was appreciated.

This cute, boutique-style hotel offers a comfy stay in a perfectly located area. We were a short walk to the Beacon Theatre and other attractions, including Central Park. There are plenty of food options and a convenient subway stop close by. Our room was clean and more spacious than it looked from the hall since it was located in a quirky corner. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the attached bakery was a nice perk. I would definitely stay again and recommend the Hotel Belleclaire to friends and family.

Our room had a view of the building next to us, like looking out at a brick wall, although there might have been a few windows.
- 4.5/5
Loved location. Our first room was like a dungeon but we complained and they gave us a very nice room on 8th floor looking out to Hudson river. Staff was very nice. Room small but very comfortable.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel. It’s small, unique and the bakery is amazing!!! Location is also fantastic. I won’t be staying anywhere else in NYC from now on.
- 4.5/5
I think that the towels are small. We also asked the staff to change the linen after a week of our stay ( we stayed for 10 nights). We think that the amenities can be upgraded according to the hotel category.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Room was clean and New-York sized, plain but comfortable and clean. Wish there was coffee service that didn’t require wait lines at the (excellent) French bakery cafe on the first floor.
- 5/5
This hotel has the best little luxury boutique feel from the decor, the chic restaurant, and the cutest , plus tasty french bakery adjacent. Everyone who works at the hotel is very friendly, hospitable, and makes an effort to recognize and remember your occasion for staying. Would have preferred a room with a view of 77th street or Broadway, vs looking at the back alley courtyard, but Amanda was awesome! The location of the hotel is primo, from dining diversity to many modes of entertainment all within walking distance, as well as short subway stops. We'll definitely be staying there again next time we're on the upper west side!
- 4/5
The hotel is very charming, and the room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff were kind and helpful. The neighborhood was lively and pleasant, with some great restaurants close by. My main problem was the lack of a proper breakfast service. The hotel gives you vouchers for the bakery next door, but there were only pastries or sandwiches, and the lines to get breakfast were huge. Since I was traveling for work and not pleasure, this was an issue for me. I also found that, for the level of hotel, certain details could have been better (for instance, proper glasses in the bedroom rather than plastic disposable glasses).
- 4/5
Amanda at the front desk is the best. She is very friendly, knowledgeable, willing to help with our needs. She provided recommendations and did everything fast and with the smile. She made me feel special. Bellmen at the hotel are customer oriented and were always helpful during our stay. Thank you!

Not a negative point but more of an information: the water in the shower takes time to warm up. We originally thought there was no water but after 10 minutes of letting the water get warm, you get to enjoy a good shower.

Fantastic spot! From Naomi at the front desk, to the clean and easy rooms, to the breakfast at Mille-Fuille, we loved our stay here. Would come back in a heartbeat. Great value and easy access to subway!
- 5/5
Excellent location near Central Park and the subway. Will stay again!
- 5/5
The first room they gave me was tiny and would not have worked for two people; when I requested a larger one, they graciously found me one (for a small upcharge). I have stayed here many times, and have always found the staff extremely friendly and accommodating.

Excellent staff- attentive, kind and helpful. Clean and updated rooms! Excellent location.
- 5/5
This was a really lovely and comfortable stay. The hotel was clean, smelled good, and the staff were very respectful and attentive. My room was great, and the water pressure in the shower was A+. I would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Having stayed many times around the corner in a different boutique hotel that didn’t offer breakfast, it was a pleasure to receive coupons for breakfast! My room was charming, spacious, immaculate with terrific views across Central Park and up/down Broadway. The staff immediately addressed a noise issue late at night with a neighbor and could not have been nicer during my stay. Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, seems recently renovated, great neighborhood.
- 5/5
Fantastic place to stay! People are the best, rooms are always spotless, and the coffee and pastries in the cafe next door are epic.
- 4.5/5
The breakfast voucher is for $10.00 , and it does not cover a moderate choice. Perhaps the value of the voucher could be at least $15.00 .The cafe that offers this breakfast has sandwiches, tea, coffee,. Pastry....but the main alternatives of a breakfast are not included.
- 4/5
shower wasn't hot
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms and wonderful staff
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly/helpful staff. Clean rooms. Everything was perfect!
- 5/5
Staff was awesome! We loved the wine hour and the delicious bakery next door. Room was perfect for a couple exploring New York.
- 4/5
Rooms are small and doors very close to each other. Room and linens were clean. Coffee shop conveniently connected to the hotel for breakfast.
- 5/5
Very cool hotel!! Clean room, great location and the breakfast was yummy
- 5/5
Great location in the upper west side of NYC. Lovely little boutique hotel with friendly staff. Bakery on site with complimentary vouchers to use each day. Subways close by and a short walk to Central Park. Definitely worth a return trip!
- 5/5
Historic property with modern comforts and amenities in a great location. The only downside was noise from the hallway.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay!
- 5/5
Breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Great location excellent staff and free wine at their wine hours
- 5/5
Staff was incredible Having the bakery and vouchers for hotel guests is genius! They are working on ideas to incorporate small plates or food at their lounge, which I would say seals the deal on the perfect set up! Felt safe Subway was close by and they even had us a cab to our super early departure to JFK! Everything was great Hated to leave
- 5/5
Clean rooms, large shower, very comfortable bed, good tv set, excellent customer service and very helpful staff. Bad: Windows don't open (no air from outside). breakfast is just $10 vouchers for the adjacent bakery with very small variety. Corridors between rooms are very tight in width.
- 5/5
A wonderful stay in the 9th floor Broadway Room. Wonderful property and very nice staff.
- 5/5
Quick check in, clean, beautiful place, convenient, great location
- 5/5
Lovely staff and clean rooms
- 5/5
from the moment we walked in all of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The lobby is extremely inviting with a view of the sun turquoise seating lounge area. The hallway is leading to the rooms are in a pretty blue as well, very different from the usual browns and beiges of hotels. my Broadway view room was incredibly sized for New York City with beautiful windows on a rounded corner! About 2 times the size of other hotel rooms I have stayed in the city. The breakfast coupons were wonderful with an amazing bakery attached that had the best pumpkin bread, French pastries, and coffee available. upper West side location was perfect for access to both walking along Riverside Park and getting to Central Park. Cute restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby as well! nothing
- 4.5/5
Great hotel the service is really good, they have vouchers for the coffee right next to the hotel which saves a lot Sometimes didn’t have hot shower but contact the reception and they took care of it

Excellent Staff, lovely hotel, great cafe with french breakfast. Will come back when in NYC!

Nothing unusual...rooms are small but no one comes to NYC to stay in their room!
- 5/5
No breakfast available
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. Traveled with husband and our 5 year old. Pull out couch was actually really comfortable. Appreciate that! We were able to easily order delicious food to the hotel at the end of long days of travel or exploring. 1 2 or 3 subway lines are very closeby for easy transit anywhere in the city. Staff were kind and characters and we loved them. Hotel is in Great condition. Will definitely look for deals to stay here again!

Location and staff Shower design and wish for coffee in room
- 5/5
It was awesome
- 4/5
The building and lobby were beautiful, but the room itself was a bit disappointing. Bathroom faucet was loose from its fitting, and there was very little room to store toiletries in there.
- 3/5
Had such high expectations, none met. The room is very tiny. Bathroom door at foot of bed, no fan. When the faucet or shower was turned on in any nearby room, it was loud as though it was coming from my bathroom. Very loud pipes. No bathroom counter, no place to put used hand soap bar. Dirty hand towel taken but no clean one left (twice had to call desk). Bakery in lobby not anything special, after reviews thought it would be good. But it wasn’t. Room entry Doors slam if you don’t hold them, and each guest learns with a slam. Slow and tiny (4 person) elevator. Bed was fine but pillows were not. Got stiff neck two nights. Staff very friendly.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful as always. The rooms are clean and relaxing. The property has a lovely French coffee shop and bar. I will return.
- 5/5
Helpful, friendly staff. Great location. Room was alittle "tired."
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable room and classic decor, excellent staff!

- 5/5
Great location, safe, pleasant neighborhood, with many lovely restaurants nearby. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Hallways and rooms are small, but no smaller than many other NYC boutique hotels. Room was spotless, bathroom was quite large and modern, bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
We had a terrific time and the staff were divine.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect they even kindly gave me a bottle of champagne for my birthday! Thank you !!!!!!
- 5/5
The staff was incredible. They were super helpful.
- 5/5
Lovely small hotel on upper west. Quiet. We loved the adjoining pastry shop for our morning coffee, lattes, yogurt, muffins, croissants and quiche. We’d definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Ultimately the location is unbeatable with all major Manhattan tourist destination 10 mins away.
- 5/5
Room was nicely updated, AC worked great, and the shower had excellent water pressure and temperature. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean. The staff was amazing
- 5/5
Great location! Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Delicious bakery option for breakfast. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
The room was immaculate. The amenities were great and the bar was run very well. Edward on the door was so accommodating and professional. The reception staff need to be kinder and more helpful. They cause a lot of fuss one day due to a slight payment bissue. We had paid most of our bill but were having bank issues, the funds werent an issue its just my husband wasnt with me that day as he stayed out shipping with my daughter and i needed tonise his card. They werent allowing me back into my room and decativated my card. I was quite shocked by this approach to be honest and ive never expereinced such a lack of customer care at a hotel before. Otherwise our stay was lovely but there was no need for that treatment.
- 5/5
The belleclare is a lovely boutique hotel on the upper west side of Manhattan. It is very clean, the bed linens are clean and crisp. The a/c works well, though I wish it could be set below 67. It would be nice if they offered a feather pillow option. One new annoyance is the three package delivery limit, there is a fee for deliveries beyond that.
- 5/5
Clean comfortable room. Welcoming and accommodating stuff. Free breakfast. Great neighborhood. These are the reasons I keep coming back to the hotel Bell Clara year after year. The front desk staff are very accommodating in moving my room so that I could have my favorite experience. I just love this hotel.
- 4/5
Staff is great, coffee shop in the lobby is great, rooms are clean and good, but very basic. Location of the hotel is perfect for me on the upper west side.
- 5/5
Family of four on vacation for 5 day. The double Queen was spacious and totally impressed us. It had two TVs! We were expecting a very cramped room but were pleasantly surprised at the size. Extremely clean with hardwood floors (no carpet:) extremely helpful staff at front desk. They give you $10 credit per person for the French bakery or to use at the bar. Location is excellent, short walk to Central Park, easy subway access to get all over the city. We were worried the building would be old/run down… not at all. Overall great experience. Nothing negative to say. Highly recommend.
- 3/5
Location is great! Staff is horrible! Not helpful at all. I had to ask to get my room cleaned multiple times and was told I had called during staff change over and that was why my room hadn't been cleaned? I asked/called 3 times in one day to see if I could get a room clean. Do not recommend. Spend your $ somewhere else!
- 5/5
This place is great. Everything from the start to finish was handled in the way to make you feel taken care of. But Naomi at the front desk won my heart and made this entire visit one of the best! Thank you guys, i will be back.
- 5/5
Couldn’t have had a better stay. Great location, really nice space and an extremely kind + accommodating staff. I stayed in the Presidential Suite for my bachelorette party and they honestly undersell it in the pictures. It was the perfect size: big rooms (for NYC), tons of bathrooms, full living area… great space! So happy I booked here and thanks again to amazing staff!!
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and ready for us earlier than expected. Cocktail bar was very nice with a wide selection of wines and liquors. Steps from the Capitol Theatre and many incredible restaurants and attractions. Blocks from Strawberry Fields. Will definitely be back!
- 3/5
Very small room behind cooling equipment; no clothes storage; good bathroom
- 5/5
Great Upper West Side location away from the congestion and crowds in midtown. Close to the 1, 2, and 3 subway lines. A couple of blocks from great food stores like Fairway, Citarella, and Zabar's. Walking distance to the Hudson River and also to Central Park. Awesome French style bakery next door. Extremely helpful staff Can't wait for a return visit.
- 5/5
The breakfast is great
- 5/5
The staff is outstanding. We loved visiting the bakery every morning. It’s close to Central Park and a quick cab ride to the theater district. I have stayed here twice and would definitely return!
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly and stuff was clean. Nice coffee shop on the ground level. Room was small liked you’d expect in the city!
- 5/5
Great hotel! Very nice staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel - great location. Would definitely stay at the BelleClaire again!
- 5/5
I booked the room for my niece, her husband, and their 8 year old. They had nothing but praise! I noted myself that the bathroom is large for a NYC hotel. And I can say, after waiting in the lobby and lounge for them, sometimes for over an hour while they rested, that the public spaces are lovely, and the staff excellent. While they didn't use the bar, I sure did, and liked it so much that it's going to go into the rotation when I want to have a drink in the neighborhood. I especially liked the complimentary salami/cheese/etc. The breakfast vouchers were a nice touch, and it turns out that Mille-Feuille has breakfast croissants and the like as well as just pastries. Location is great. My niece got to make her pilgrimage to Zabars, and the express train at 72 and local at 79 make it very convenient to get around, not to mention the 104 bus stops nearby.
- 5/5
Friendly customer service
- 4/5
Thank you for the vouchers to use at the French bakery. We had lunch there each morning.
- 5/5
Room clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Loved our large corner room overlooking Broadway with breakfast vouchers for the amazing bakery off the lobby. Well-appointed, clean and surprisingly quiet room except for (very limited) work on a nearby room. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The neighborhood is a great balance of charming restaurants, amazing food markets and shops. Close to Central Park and Natural History Museum. Felt like living in NYC for a weekend!

Great staff
- 4/5
The bellhops Edward and Sare were so helpful and accommodating so we could get to where we needed to be Manhattan on time.
- 5/5
We were given the wrong room at first, but Benedict took great care of us and made sure we had everything that we needed. We ended up with a great room.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Super easy walk to the Beacon Theater for our show that we were in town for.
- 5/5
Perfect stay - friendly staff made our annual trip to NYC our best yet! The BelleClaire offered everything we needed! Clean room and linens, quiet nights and comfy beds and pillows. Room was small but that was what we reserved- we were out all day and much of the night. They provided us vouchers for the French cafe (attached) and bar lounge on the main level. The staff were bright and cheery and helped answer all of our questions with patience and a smile. Benedict and Naomi greeted us at the front desk for check in and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable and welcomed. The Belleclaire is centrally located in the upper west side on Broadway with plenty of fabulous restaurants, pubs, and markets. Just a few blocks from The Beacon Theater and within short walks to the Museum of Natural History and Cemtral Park. We took the redline subway (1,2,3) train down to Times Square, the shuttle Grand Central, and the West Village. We will be back next year!!
- 2/5
I was really disappointed in this hotel. Especially the room that we spent over 500 for each night. Clean room, comfy bed, nice sheets but the room was smaller than I have experienced for 2 people, even though it was a “deluxe queen”. What was worse was the only window was against a wall with nesting pigeons, so no light could get in. This would be a 200 a night room. The value is where I rated it a 3. If you book 233 you will have a room that you share with a wall and pigeons.

Additionally, the hotel staff could not have been nicer. Really a pleasant experience overall.

The friendly staff were so very kind and helpful at every post. The room was clean and offered comfort. We will stay again! Thank you!
- 5/5
Great staff...very clean hotel....the rooms are small but awesome...an you never know what celebrities you might see.
- 5/5
Wonderful all
- 5/5
quiet location on the upper west side, love every part of it except for the bar closing at 11Pm 😆
- 5/5
Staff and service was excellent! Rooms were clean and updated. Enjoyed the extra perks like vouchers to the bakery and neighborhood walking tour.
- 5/5
Nice property
- 4/5
I booked a deluxe queen and the room was on the smaller side. The building was easy to find and very clean.
- 4/5
The room, despite an upgrade to a king suite, was nothing more than a room in a corner looking out at the building along with a tiny bathroom. There was a desk but no where to put a bag or items we brought.
- 3/5
The heat wasn't working. They gave us a space-heater, which took a long time to work, but eventually did. The room itself was spacious, but visually uninspiring. Spare and drab, with a bit pealing various places. When we thought the space heater wasn't doing the trick and we'd have to stay with friends, the best they'd offer was 50% refund. They brought a second heater, which blew a fuse. All in all, we felt un-cared for by the manager. A positive: Although there was no coffe-maker in the room, there was a coupon for coffee and baked good at the very nice French bakery next door. And location was really good for us.
- 5/5
Awesome location. Safe and convenient to metro and a brief walking distance of central park.
- 5/5
Staff was immediately and continuously courteous and responsive. Room was spotless. Breakfast vouchers were legit and the bakery they were redeemed at was delicious and inexpensive. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Only mini-complaint -- it would be nice to be able to order food, at least drinks and sandwiches, to the room.
- 4/5
The hotel itself is very nice: great location, friendly people, wonderful French bakery and lounge. But, and it’s a big BUT, the room was extremely basic: a bed and a desk; no sofa, no armchair, nowhere to relax but the bed. The harsh cold lighting was reminiscent of a morgue. The acoustics of the place were horrible. With a tiled floor and bare walls, every sound echoed. The thin walls of the bathroom ensured that every fart reverberated throughout the enire room. Not for the weak! Also, no coffee or tea station in the room.
- 5/5
VERY clean, great breakfast included at excellent French Bakery. Staff was very friendly. Bar served great drinks. Nice location within 2 blocks of subway stop running up/down Broadway (1), with good restaurants within 2 blocks.
- 4/5
clean room, beautiful lobby, cute cafe, great location, nice vouchers
- 4/5
Very clean room.
- 5/5
Great location, lovely staff, rom was super clean and very comfortable. Love this hotel.
- 1/5
Hotels.com misrepresented the price. The breakfast was not free. It costs $10 per person per day. The extra $29 per day was not mentioned on Hotels.com site. Next time I stay at the Hotel Belleclaire I will book the room directly.
- 4/5
Staff were helpful and service was good. Bed was comfortable and hotel had some nice touches. Only negative was thin walls — I could hear the room next door very clearly.
- 5/5
Nice staff, good bakery next door for breakfast and clean rooms all at a good price!
- 3/5
Overall stay & staff was great!
- 4/5
Clean, great and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great! Cute! Such sweet guest services. Delicious bakery
- 5/5
5/5, no notes. Staff is excellent.
- 5/5
Checkin was quick & we were able go into our room around noon. Everything was clean. Central air worked well, plenty of heat, and not noisy.
- 4/5
I really liked this hotel and the location was perfect. Staff were friendly and efficient. My room was clean and quiet (in the back). But as my stay was for 11 nights, it would have really helped to have a mini fridge and an electric kettle, to be able to make a hot drink late at night. Nevertheless, I would probably stay there again.
- 1/5
Didn’t want to do anything for me heating wasn’t working . Terrible customer service when asking to help out . Tried to charge us for maintenance even with that couldn’t fix the heating. Such a terrible experienced. They need to do better
- 5/5
Amazing atmosphere walking in, great service and the room was so spacious and comfortable. couldn’t recommend more!
- 3/5
Room was not clean enough too small for the price. Cold with no extra blankets.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
All of the above. Excellent on all levels
- 5/5
Upgraded to one of the small suites on the 9th floor, though it was still quite large -especially for an older NYC hotel. Beautiful decorated bedroom and living room, very bright and multiple windows overlooking Broadway. (Don't worry, room was so quiet.) Hallways and room spotless. Friendliest staff. Included breakfast vouchers from take-away croissant pastry store off lobby.
- 3/5
Room was clean, but small an the windows were very drafty.
- 4/5
The doorman Edward was the highlight of my stay. We talked like we were neighbors.
- 5/5
All of the above. Staff is great.
- 1/5
Don’t even know where to start. There was dark hair all over the bathroom. My daughter and I are blonde. The HVAC was making a loud buzzing/clanging noise in the room. Engineer was called. He couldn’t fix it. Said he would have front desk call with options mini g to live rooms or get refund. Hours went by and no call. I called them three times and each time was told that they’d get right back to me. Just as we were leaving for the show we came to town to see I got ahold of them (still no call) and was treated like I was the problem. Was told that since I “didn’t want to move rooms” the there was no solution. I wanted to move rooms three hours earlier but never given option. The manager repeated over and over “you’re choosing not to move rooms” when we were walking out the door for a show. As it was we were late. They offered to take off the facilities fee and I said that wasn’t good enough so manager said he would figure out more compensation. At midnight when we returned nothing had been done. Had to talk to another manager who offered 20% off room rate. Had no choice but to take it. But I took me 5 calls and one in person discussion. The bed was old and uncomfortable, rug was stained. Will NEVER stay here again.
- 5/5
Lovely, large room, clean, quiet.
- 5/5
loved it it was small and cute would def recommend.
- 1/5
Also, room heating didn’t work and the room was freezing
- 5/5
Incredibly courteous staff. West End is much quieter than midtown, but with a subway 2 blocks away, it’s a quick trip to almost anywhere you want to go.
- 4/5
Stayed a couple of weeks during the holidays. Very quiet room, bed was firm as I like it. Too firm though for my wife. You can’t please everyone. Staff was responsive and professional. I enjoyed the vibe here for the most part. I like showers that are capable of being very hot, but it seemed capped at just warm. Mid mornings, when many others probably depleted the hot water supply, it was not freezing, but not what many probably expect. At this price point, I expected better. I liked the location, though it was sad to see a couple of people sleeping on the sidewalk a block down the street. They were never aggressive. It was just very sad. Subway and Starbucks one short block away. Very reasonable great Chinese restaurant on the corner. They were aggressive. Kept insisting we add more items! The city was glorious covered in snow.
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Very clean. Well located on the upper west side. Front desk staff is very hospital and work to make your stay the best it can be. Stayed here twice over a business trip weekend (coming and going). Able to reach all areas of Manhattan via subway nearby, and the park is near as well. Will definitely book again when traveling through NYC.
- 5/5
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room was on the small side, but clean. No complaints! Also, vouchers for breakfast was a nice perk!
- 4/5
Room was clean. Only negative were the other rude guests who would let there door slam closed and smoking pot
- 5/5
We were very pleased with the room, the staff, and the hospitality.
- 2/5
Was waiting almost 3 hours for a room that many came after us and got their room. I had a significant injuries and was told to wait. We would be late for the opera finally after I protested they gave us a room room was absolutely clean. However, the check-in process was horrible. Not sure if I would stay here.
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic!
- 5/5
This is a charming boutique hotel, clean and friendly. Great location in NYC’s upper west side.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay on NYC! It’s now our favorite hotel!
- 5/5
clean room, helpful staff, great location, good wifi.
- 3/5
Nice hotel and nice staff. Unfortunately the heat in my room didn’t really work. They had already put a space heater in the room which should have been a warning sign. But we had extremely cold temps in the negatives and the room never went above 62. Made for a really unpleasant evening.
- 5/5
(Even when we left the room for the day around noon) We enjoyed having the bakery so close downstairs. The check in was very smooth and Mark at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed live music and a beverage in the bar two evenings and the wait staff was very nice as well. The hotel is also located near Central Park, museums, and many restaurants. We dined at Serafina, an Italian restaurant across the street from the Hotel Belleclaire twice and highly recommend this as a dining option while staying in this area.
- 5/5
estremely helpful reception desk. Proactive. Helped me change the date of the reservation
- 4/5
could hear guests through the walls there was a yelping sound every 10 mintues or so throughout the night and day
- 5/5
Just wondering why I was charged for extra bakery vouchers when the concierge gave them t me in lieu of a beverage at the restaurant which was closed.?
- 4/5
Staff was great. Great location! Amenities bare bones.
- 5/5
Excellent hospitality and great value

Good price for the location close to Beacon Theater
- 5/5
The room is exdellent! Staffs are nice and accommodating. Very good location.
- 5/5
Everything from the rooms to service to value and location were great. I would definitely repeat.
- 5/5
Amazing, amazing experience the hotel staff made this trip exceptional they were so friendly and went out of their way to be helpful at any opportunity. Will return and will recommend without question. A fantastic experience in all ways 😀 location was amazing right on broadway lots of restaurants and easy walking to central park. Such a great trip. Hats off to the BelleClaire staff thank you for making our trip special.
- 5/5
I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.
- 5/5
Location is super convenient to Central Park, museums, and subway. Mille Feuille Bakery pastries are superb. Every single staff person we had contact with - front desk, doorman, room service - was helpful and happy.
- 3/5
There are pors and cons. Style and class, no ventilation possible thus leading to overheated room despite AC. Noise during the day: my ste-father was not able to sleep (fourth floor), odors (as there aure people living thus cooking on the 3rd floor. Examples like that.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the linens were nice and the room though it had no frills had everything that I needed. The breakfast vouchers for use in the adjacent pastry shop offer some the best croissants in the city. But one of the biggest of the hotel is the staff who are unfailingly helpful and courteous. I left jewelry behind but it was retrieved to my enormous relief.
- 5/5
Clean. Beautifully restored staff very friendly Recommend highly
- 5/5
Lovely old world vibe but clean and great staff
- 5/5
Friendly staff, beautiful hotel in one of the best areas of the City. The French bakery is a great bonus. One suggestion would be to include some hooks in the closet. Will definitely stay here again!

Great stay. Clean, comfortable room and very friendly staff. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
The hotel overall gets a five star. The staff was lovely. The only negative there was a desk clerk that when asked a question about a fee being charged went overboard in trying to explain what the fee was even after I stated that I was fine with the fee, she continued and got upset because I told her I understood and was fine with the fee
- 1/5
The room was to small. The bathroom was WAY TO SMALL. This place is OLD. Turn the shower on and had dirty water come out for two days.we left early.. they gave us a credit and lowered my charge.

The room was extremely clean and very cozy. All staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again!

You would have had 5 stars except that I’ve been messaging you since 30 minutes after I left asking that someone check for the ring I left behind in the bathroom and I have yet to hear back. Very disappointing since everything was, otherwise, very good.
- 5/5
Hotel had a lot of character. The staff was very accommodating. Had a double queen room for my family of 4. I will certainly stay here again if in the area.
- 2/5
Location and cleanliness of the hotel were the only pluses. The heat wasn’t working properly in our room and it was freezing. An additional heater needed to be put into our room. The walls of the hotel are very thin and you can hear everything of what is going on in the hallways and rooms
- 5/5
Great little hotel, the rooms are quite small but the overall experience was very good, staff very attentive and the location is really good. Walking distance from the Natural History Museum / Central Park and two blocks away from the subway.
- 2/5
The location is incredible, right by the subway, shopping, dining and all for both adults without or without kids. We needed a bigger room but because of the time of year we couldn’t get anything that didn’t feel like they were not taking advantage of us for the ridiculous price, and now here’s the catch. The room we booked still was pretty expensive, but it was tiny—and I did know that, what I was not expecting was the shower walls, grout and silicone being covered in black mold, absolutely disgusting, some tiles broken on the floor, one of my kids cut his finger on it while (briefly) playing on the floor. The shower temperature was almost impossible to control, the very large shower door would slam closed every time, the sink had a leak, the tv wouldn’t cast. I am fine paying for convenience, the staff was absolutely incredible but the actual hotel room that I stayed in, sucked, and for bigger reasons due to my kids neurodivergence, changing rooms would be a even bigger of a nightmare. So here is my experience.
- 5/5
Clean and very courteous!
- 5/5
I absolutely loved the room. It was beautifully decorated, very clean and truly felt like New York luxury—stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The bar was cozy and inviting, and the mocktails were surprisingly excellent. Overall, this was a 10/10 stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Belleclaire to anyone visiting NYC and wanting to stay on the Upper West side.
- 3/5
The room left much to be desired. Very disappointed considering the price paid.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms and public areas... Great location
- 5/5
Staff is always wonderful
- 5/5
Cool frechie vibes
- 4/5
Clean room, great staff, no hot water twice for showers.
- 5/5
Smells nice
- 5/5
The property itself along with the staff were wonderful. It was very close to two subway stations, as well as several dining options which my wife and I took full advantage of.
- 5/5
Everyone was polite and respectful. Room small but had everything that we needed. Staff quickly offered to bring luggage racks and extra room supplies.
- 5/5
Luxury without the cost. This is must recommend hotel in New York. I will book for another trip. The service from staffs to management are very friendly
- 5/5
great hotel
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 4/5
Clean and friendly staff
- 5/5
Excellent location, well maintained facilities and friendly staff
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 3/5
The room temperature was erratic. The whole room reeked of cigarettes. We weren't there long, but we didn't have any real interaction with staff. The place was packed and the lobby is so small there's no easy way to get by. You're pretty much forced to take the stairs as the elevators are tiny. If you have two people each with bags you won't fit.
- 4/5
Staff, room
- 2/5
I woke up with a piece of chewed gum stuck to my foot that had been left between the sheets by a previous guest. (spoiler alert: it was not my gym). On my second night the shower water turned dark brown and freezing cold while I was in the shower. Walls were also extremely thin meaning any possibility of resting if other guests are speaking is out of the question. Service was kind but couldnt offer a clean solution beyond a discount equivalent to roughly 5% of my stay. I flew home tired and dirty, cute hotel but I won't be back
- 3/5
The room was expensive and much too small. The manager was nice enough to change my room because the tv sould not work. The bathroom in the first room was una ceptably small. I d advise people to inquire abou room size before booking. The hotel had too many people; the common areas were too crowded. Not worth it for the price.
- 5/5
Lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. Staff and service is stellar. Wonderful and will stay again!
- 3/5
Hotel speaks Manhattan history. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Allure bar was fantastic. Decent drink and breakfast voucher's were given which was a plus. The room temperature wasn't the best. The best just couldn't keep up with the cold outside. Also issues with the shower water temperature being too cold. We expected more given the price for the night. The drink.voucher wasn't exactly as described by Expedia but they did give something.
- 5/5
Great staff, very clean, great location. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Very hospitable. Love the charm of the hotel and the location.
- 3/5
Our major difficulty was because we could not get water that was hot enough for showers or hand washing for the first two days of our stay. We ran the water for more than 5 minutes in the sink and shower and still had Luke warm water. On our last day I had a hot shower. Also the bathroom did not have heating coming directly in. The maintenance staff member came up and said we needed to keep the door to the bedroom open to have heat in the bathroom. He offered to change our room but said other rooms had no heat coming directly into the bathroom so we stayed. I think the hotel has remodeled without good planning for the heating system or else the boiler, which is in the basement, was not functioning well.
- 2/5
Shower water cold. Took forever to get luggage.
- 5/5
Room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed breakfast at the French bakery
- 5/5
Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was warm and friendly and the location was super convenient.
- 5/5
Perfect stay!! Pistachio croissant was delicous!
- 5/5
Staff… Room… Anazing!
- 4/5
Great room and staff. Room 408 has rumbling pipes and limited hot water.
- 3/5
Unbelievably small rooms, the resort fee is ridiculous
- 5/5
The room was clean and nice, we got a credit for breakfast and they were helpful when we needed. Location is great and everything was nice
- 4/5
Rooms was good A bit loud with people above bc there is no carpet so you hear footsteps
- 5/5
Breakfast menu is the best
- 5/5
The room was clean. We have stayed at this hotel several times. The hotel is conveniently located, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
The rooms were spacious and located in a convenient area. However, the hotel did not clean the rooms daily, and fresh towels were not provided daily. It would have been better if they had been provided daily, especially since we were there for six nights. Given the amount of money we spent per night, this kind of service is expected.
- 5/5
nice place
- 3/5
We were moved to a nice larger room with a larger nice bathroom, however, you could only have cold showers!
- 5/5
Exceptional room, no surprises, clean, attentively helpful staff.
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 5/5
The staff was really nice. Rooms were clean with comfortable bedding. Nice location and the fitness room was a good size.
- 5/5
Clever room options for families that you rarely find in Manhattan, fabulous location on the Upper West Side, near the 1 subway, Trader Joe’s, Zabars, and the Beacon Theatre. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff that go out of their way to welcome you. Clean with so much character and charm. French bakery in the lobby is *chefs kiss* parfait. What a gem!
- 5/5
The room was clean and just right for an overnight visit to NYC. Purchased through Expedia, great price. Meal/drink vouchers were a nice touch! Got a nightcap, and then breakfast in the am. We are in NYC a few times a year, I'll definitely check this hotel first!
- 5/5
Excellent location. Staff was outstanding!
- 5/5
Room was spotless and service was excellent at the door as well as front desk
- 5/5
Friendly staff, comfortable bed & room. Nice cocktails in the lounge bar Allure. Bakery delish and super cute. Fully enjoyed our stay.
- 4/5
Room was clean, Room was not ready when I arrived had to send me away 2 times because it was not cleaned until 5pm on Tuesday
- 5/5
Very clean, nice staff, great location.
- 4/5
The wine hour every day so missed out. In overall good stay and central to major attractions. Nice hotel.
- 5/5
The Staff was amazing! Room was clean, comfy, and roomy. Lovely hotel in a great Upper West Side location!
- 5/5
Clean room and great to have breakfast coupons for our stay as well as other perks
- 5/5
Beautiful boutique hotel, friendly staff and French bakery as an added perk!
- 5/5
Everything was clean, staff was attentive, the location was wonderful, I would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
This is the best place to stay in New York City.
- 4/5
My room was small but clean and well lit. My only problem was that my shower kept pooling so that I was taking a shower in standing water. I asked the front desk to see if they could fix the drain while I was out for the day, but when I got back it still was pooling. I think maybe the shower floor wasn’t designed properly for drainage. Anyway, that was kind of icky. I ended up having to wash my feet in the sink after showering, and wanting to avoid taking showers. I was extremely tired after traveling, when I made my initial call about it to the front desk, and the woman I spoke to was a bit snide with me because I initially got my room number wrong, even though she knew which room I was calling from. I might stay here again, but I’m not sure…
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, tasty breakfast
- 5/5
Staff upon check in and check out were exceptional - cheerful, welcoming, helpful.
- 4/5
Courteous and helpful staff
- 2/5
Hotel location was great. The front desk was friendly. But I would never stay here again because of the room smell and allowed smoking.
- 5/5
The hotel is in a great location, just a few blocks from Central Park, the Hudson River, and two subway stations. There are also some very good restaurants in the area. Our room faced Broadway and was on the 9th floor and was surprisingly quiet, I would choose a high floor in the future. Mille Feuille has a good selection of pastries, quiches, and sandwiches in addition to coffee and juice. It’s nice to get breakfast everyday downstairs or grab an afternoon snack. We look forward to our next trip.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Pleasant staff. Great location.
- 3/5
yes
- 5/5
Amazing staff and amazing location!
- 5/5
One of the nicest hotels in NYC! Wonderful staff, location and comfort! The service has been wonderful!
- 5/5
This Hotel is a gem! It is stunning in every way and I will return! Great location, cozy and comfortable, but more importantly wonderful staff and service. The rooms are very clean and quiet! I love everything about this hotel! Bravo!
- 5/5
Great location, clean and great staff.
- 3/5
Staff was great. Room had some cigar smell and remote for tv did not work. Lots of $$ for sparse room. It was in good condition.
- 4/5
Great location for exploring NYC.
- 3/5
Shower was a little tired. Fitness Center is small and the only pelaton was out of service. Bar service was meh Gave me a stupid plastic cup to take wine to my room
- 4/5
Great stay ,
- 3/5
Nice hotel, great location, wonderful staff. Unfortunately, a lack of soundproofing mostly caused by the flimsy (hollow) doors made our stay less enjoyable. We heard every conversation in the hallway and every sound (TV, every word spoken) coming from the room connected to ours. The two doors connecting the rooms did nothing to prevent that from happening and caused a complete loss of privacy. Such a shame. Otherwise, it’s a nice hotel.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
The room we were put in, was lovely, although it was an adjoining room, and it was as though we were sharing a room with a loud family. We had to knock on the wall a number of times to ask them to be quiet. The room walls were paper thin.
- 5/5
Consistently excellent. I have been coming for five years on a regular basis - never a disappointment. Wonderful!
- 5/5
Excellent location on Upper West Side.
- 5/5
Spacious room, friendly staff that goes above and beyond. David, Matt and thelady up front were very helpful!
- 3/5
The staff were rather rude and unhelpful the entire visit. During check in, I was interrupted and abandoned mid-transaction so all staff members could focus on one “vip” guest.
- 5/5
Room was spacious for luggage and clean, service was great from both front desk and housekeeping. Everyone was approachable, pleasant and gracious. Little issue with TV losing connection, but maintenance was responsive. Would have preferred a small fridge for storing drinks and snacks. Overall a wonderful historic building in a quiet NYC neighborhood with easy access to the subway.
- 5/5
This boutique hotel in the Upper West Side is a great place to stay for a while. The rooms are comfortable and updated, and the staff is very friendly. However, keep in mind that it’s out of the main attractions area, so the commute may not be ideal.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
There is a delightful ambiance about the hotel in its look, which is why I chose this hotel. The room was fine, however, I found paying for a room "upgrade" to look out at Broadway a rather tacky initiative by the hotel to get extra money for an already expensive stay. The room was clean and minimalist. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was pretty in it's design.
- 5/5
Great place and great location for concert at beacon theatre
- 5/5
Staff were amazing! Clean rooms, would stay there again!
- 5/5
Location is spot on! Subway access, Central Park, Museums, Riverside Trails, Dining and Shopping close without the crowds, best bang for buck, multiple stays, great staff!
- 5/5
I always appreciate a clean room and the Belclare provided such. The staff was friendly and the ease of access in and out was great. Though not in the heart of Midtown, I found this hotel much easier to get in and out of throughout the day.
- 1/5
I needed to cancel the stay for medical reasons to a ER and they declined to refund my payment
- 5/5
AC was good
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room
- 5/5
Nice boutique hotel in the UWS….close to lots of restaruants and bars….the staff is friendly….the hotel includes free breakfast at the adjacent bakery….rooms are small but clean and comfortable…..there is a decent sized fitness room with ample workout equipment.
- 4/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Great location and value! Third time to stay, always great!
- 4/5
Room was small, but clean with some modern amenities. Gym was surprising large, well-stocked, and clean. Tv was nice, AC was good once we figured out how to use it. Good location, walkable to restaurants, Central Park, subway. No coffee maker, no ice bucket, no refrigerator.
- 5/5
Beautiful and large room. Great location.
- 4/5
Helpful staff!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, accommodating staff. Really nicely decorated and kept up.
- 3/5
Overall services.
- 3/5
Heating system needs to be serviced. So noisy that we couldn’t sleep. We finally just turned it off.
- 5/5
The room we had was just as described and provided lovely aspects of Broadway
- 5/5
the French bakery next door is superb for breakfast coffee and pastries. the hotel is situated close to subway so trips downtown are easily accessible, at $2.90 per journey the city is totally accessible.. The hotel is close to central park for morning walks, we had a great stay here and would recommend the Belleclaire to anybody visiting this great city..
- 4/5
Room was spacious and clean. The area was absolutely perfect as we were going to a show at the beacon theater down the street
- 5/5
Staff was super helpful . I would recommend the hotel and I will definitely come back .
- 4/5
Staff was fantastic. Location was great. Elevators worked. I don't know if anyone cares about fridge, microwave or coffee in the room - those amenities weren't there and we didn't care. It's New York. Get out.
- 5/5
The General Manager was just amazing - the entire staff so friendly and helpful! Amazing location, French bakery the bomb and the breakfast tickets they give you along with drink coupons so good! Loved our stay and will be returning!
- 5/5
Great room, beautiful building, excellent location.
- 5/5
Nice large clean room with amenities for assistance with walk in shower and hand rails.
- 5/5
It's a great place to stay: comfortable, clean and convenient. Special marks to Benedict--he's friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was huge by New York standards, and the newly renovated shower was perfect, with fantastic water pressure! The highlight of the trip was Aaron, the head bartender at The Allure Bar. He was so friendly and upbeat that you immediately felt at home, especially when enjoying a nightcap after seeing a Broadway show. Here are my Top Ten Highlights: 1. Location, Location, Location! Just a couple of blocks from the best part of Central Park. 2. Zabar’s nearby! Only three blocks away from the famous New York institution. 3. Free walking tour — informative, fun, and a great way to explore the neighborhood. 4. Easy subway access on 72nd Street — the express 2 or 3 train gets you to Penn Station or Chelsea Market in minutes. 5. $10 breakfast or drink coupon per person at the French bakery or bar, a nice daily perk. 6. Spacious room and super comfortable bed — rare for NYC! 7. Friendly, helpful front desk — always ready to help with printing Broadway tickets or grabbing extra water. 8. Charming neighborhood feel — it truly makes you feel like part of the Upper West Side community. 9. Relaxing atmosphere after busy city days — perfect for unwinding with a drink at the bar. 10. Exceptional hospitality — every staff member made the stay memorable. This is the place to stay if you want the real NYC experience. Thank you for your excellent hospitality! — MC

This was our second stay at Hotel Belleclaire and we had a great time. It’s very close to a subway stop, restaurants and parks. The neighborhood is quiet and a nice break from Times Square area. We’ll be back.
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay for our family trip. The hotel was super clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is great and the surrounding area safe. The vouchers for breakfast in the bakery were also appreciated. We would absolutely stay at the hotel again.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
The staff is very kind. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The area is walkable and transportation is very easy accessible. Definitely I will choose this property again
- 5/5
Great place, right next to the Becon Theater
- 4/5
Lovely hotel
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The king room we stayed in was small compared to other places we stayed outside NY. But this can be expected to be with small rooms since it’s right in the middle of town, and built long time ago. The rooms being very close can hear people outside the door especially if they speaking loud. Like that they gave 10$ for each day towards breakfast cafe. All in all a pleasant stay and we just came to sleep in the room otherwise mostly spent time outside.
- 3/5
No carpets on floors As a result loud footsteps that disturbed sleep. Very small room (deluxe roon) not allowing for coffee or much drawer space
- 5/5
This place is top notch!! AMAZING staff!!!!! U won’t find a better deal and more beautiful accommodations anywhere in NYC for the cost (even not considering the cost it’s amazing). We love it so much, we are regulars!!!
- 5/5
Clean room! Great towels! Great staff! Clean hallways! Great bakery downstairs!
- 5/5
Small rooms
- 4/5
Reliable internet, room was a bit cold and required mints ce to adjust the temp.
- 4/5
The window was small and had a permanent inside glass cover so could not be opened. This kept the room very quiet but the air conditioning was slow and not very responsive so we would have preferred an open window.
- 5/5
Cute neighborhood and great staff. Delicious complimentary bakery and wine hour.
- 5/5
Ok
- 2/5
Checkin is at 3:00 but told room was not ready at 4:00. Sheets and pillowcase had blood stains on them. No coffee in room. Cafe in lobby had broken oven and could not even open one morning which meant a block walk for coffee. Elevator not working one day. $20 glass of wine in hotel bar seems ridiculous. Rooms are nothing special, sterile looking. Good location.
- 4/5
Lovely staff Bteakfast and happy hour very nice helpful with our luggage.
- 4/5
The room is a bit small, but a folding luggage rack in the closet would help. Also, I highly recommend adding recycling bins to the room. Thanks for the water on arrival!
- 5/5
It has a bar (good cocktails), but no restaurant. Breakfast is a $10 per person voucher for the bakery and coffee shop in the hotel (although not owned by them). Pastries were excellent, although of note, it doesn’t open until 7am if you are an early bird! If you don’t use the vouchers there, they can be used in the bar, which is a nice touch. It has a well equipped gym too. Location wise, a very safe area and easy to walk and get MTA. Great value for $. Would highly recommend.
- 1/5
Never again.
- 5/5
So happy with our stay. Family trip. Really appreciated the 3 beds in the room. Bathroom was nice & worked well for a family of 4. Clean and well maintained. Staff helpful and friendly. AC in room worked great. Mini fridge was a nice amenity. Wonderful location about 3 blocks from Natural History Museum. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Only thing that could be improved was to have our trash emptied every day.
- 4/5
Good location and easy public transport nearby. Was a little disappointed to realize that the weekday wine hour only happened on two days at the hotel. We were there 4 nights.
- 5/5
It’s a wonderful hotel, with helpful staff and big rooms. The breakfast vouchers are great too!
- 4/5
Walkable area, nice room but small. Lines for elevator.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Good location, clean room, added extras (walking tour, beverages, and breakfast made it extra nice.
- 5/5
Perfect place
- 5/5
Rooms - we stayed in two because we unexpectedly had to extend our stay by a day- we’re both lovely. Generous in size, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. The staff was particularly friendly and helpful! We’ll return!
- 4/5
Great location, very helpful staff, cafe and bar onsite were excellent. Only negative is that the halls and rooms could use a refresh. Even attractive pictures on the walls of the room would help. However room was clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Service and staff were fantastic. Unfortunately the walls are very thin. You can hear word from neighbors in the next room.
- 5/5
I enjoyed a very nice 6-day stay here. The staff members are friendly and helpful, the hotel very well located and quiet, and my room was cleaned every day (a rarity nowadays).
- 5/5
The Belleclaire is a grand old (1903) hotel on the Upper West Side of NYC. It is a wonderful location--close to transit, Central Park and the many great restaurants and attractions in the area--one block from the Beacon Theater where we saw a great show with Itzhak Perlman. Very comfortable and well-maintained and the vouchers for the bakery on the first floor were much appreciated. A bit pricey but probably average for similar hotels on the UWS.
- 4/5
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Belleclaire for our New York trip, and we loved it. We expected a smaller space but the bedroom was pretty spacious for the two of us. We had a pretty decent-sized closet as well to place our clothes and shoes in. The bathroom was a bit small when the two of us utilized it at the same time, but there was a great shower with perfect water temperature. The place was pretty clean. There were several walkable places nearby including Starbucks and a CVS right across the street where we could buy water and snacks for the stay. The area was also very quiet and safe! The staff was absolutely remarkable, assisting us with anything we needed and even giving suggestions on good restaurants in the area. We would definitely return here for future visits.
- 5/5
Clean room. Excellent neighborhood. Wonderful staff and lounge!
- 5/5
Staff was available, affable and knowledgeable. Felt like home.
