The room was clean and the staff was polite. NO WORKING AIR CONDITIONER is a deal-breaker. I reported it on Day 2 of my stay -- by Day 5 of my stay there was still no cool air in my room. I stopped by the front desk several times a day for updates and was just told engineers were on Floor 5 working on it. No offer to change to a different floor or proactive information. The hotel is affordable and in a good location, but I won't stay there again.

First of all, when I checked in, the room had not been fully clean. There were no towels and the room itself was filthy. Cup stains on the table, mold growing out of the outlets, the window completely covered in bird poop. On top of all of that, the lights did not work. I ended up having to move rooms and the front desk worker was not at all apologetic about it even though it was 100% the hotel's fault. In the new room, my experience only got worse. This room had cockroaches in it, which I saw at multiple times (see attached pictures.) I have bug bites all over me from whatever bugs were in that room which is absolutely disgusting. I woke up every morning at 7am to jack hammering at the hotel for the construction that they ordered - meaning they did not consider the guests when ordering the construction at such an early time. On top of all of that, two morning's I was also woken to yelling in the hallway due to an unruly guest. I took a photo of the hotel staff in the hallway trying to quiet the guest. The hotel manager was rude and did not offer any solutions to help. The worst staff and the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! PICK ANYWHERE ELSE!

The room was in a state of disarray, lacking essential amenities. The incessant noise emanating from five private events disrupted our sleep, keeping us awake until 3:00 AM. Furthermore, the room’s design was peculiar, as it lacked a counter space.

The location is fantastic, and the ambience of the lobby and rooftop bar were super cool. The rooms had the potential for being super cool, but layout wasn’t great and super limiting. Martin gave great recommendations for shops and food that was close by! The first room that we checked into, was 80°, as it was 80° outside. The AC was broken, and when we asked, there were no other rooms available, which I completely understand. However, there was no other resolution other than bringing in a small fan which we were appreciative of. However, when we asked for a refund, they denied it, and then we tried to compromise hoping for complementary breakfast or dinner or room, service, etc. etc., they said absolutely not. So that was super discouraging that they weren’t even willing to give some type of credit. We were there for a race that weekend so sleeping in an 80° room was absolutely miserable. There was also very little staff on site, service was extremely slow.

The AC broke during a heat wave. Roof top bar was closed for private events. "Free drink" card only work for beer and wine but they don't tell you that until after you order a cocktail. Elevators were slow or didn't work. No cream served with coffee, only whole milk and almond milk. Staff seemed fed up with maintenance problems. This could be a lovely hotel once it gets some TLC.

The room was really clean and it was topped up with towels and tidied up really nicely after we came back. This hotel is perfect for a short weekend in the city. Perfectly located within walking distance to Hudson yards and Times Square for shows. We got a bus down to the west village too. Some really nice spots to eat around the area with a deli convenience round the corner. Free help yourself coffee in the morning and they will keep your bags after check out. Bed is massive and super comfy, the shower bath was also great with really good pressure and temperature. For a couple it’s perfect, however in our smaller room if you are staying as friends the shower glass can be see through slightly. Room comes with a hairdryer and coffee machine too, staff were really friendly and the rooftop cocktail bar is so cute with great city views and picture opportunities!

Breakfast was not included. The food was good and the coffee was good. I didn't understand how to order even though the bartender was right there. They do not have decaf espresso. They do have oat milk. The prices are New York prices but not outrageous. There is an espresso machine in the room, and it has decaf capsules. Read the instructions provided in the room. The rooms are very modern and fairly spacious. Similar to but not as tight as a W hotel. Comfortable for two. The bed is built into a platform with slats like a futon. Very comfortable, but low to the floor. My room (51) could be repainted. Particularly the area along the baseboards and the urethane finish on the platform bed. There is some evidence of water damage in the bathroom that could be fixed. Also it did not seem to heat up with the HVAC unit, so I was cold.

The pictures are so misleading , downright fraudulent . I stayed in the standard room. Very small but that didn’t bother me . It’s a mattress on the floor . There is a plywood 6 inch platform but it’s really a mattress on a concrete floor . There was no rug like the pictures ? There is no mini fridge . They only give you one washcloth ? The lighting is so bad . There one small recessed light on the wall in the bathroom ? You could never do makeup or get ready in the room or bathroom . Not only is there very little lighting but the walls are black so it makes it super dark ? The outlet covers don’t fit etc etc . Maybe they only use this room for 3rd party bookings and other rooms are normal? There is also no key required for the elevator and that’s pretty standard for security ? I got terrible sleep my back hurt. I can’t sleep on a mattress on a floor . This room might be good for a male college kid ? Not a girl who needs to get ready for anything . It’s not a room for anyone over 25! Two good things were the location and the staff . The staff was so nice and very helpful !!!! The building needs major work .

The staff were incredible and so helpful! I’ve stayed in a few hotels for work over the past few months and this has to the worst one so far. I was first on a lower floor and any minor sound outside the room or outdoors could be heard, so there was clearly no insulation. I moved rooms because the lights didn’t work tho and the second room was slightly better but once again, the lack of insulation was so difficult to sleep through.

A few little things made it a 4 star, not a 5 star: soundproofing between rooms is poor; there were instructions for a coffee maker in the room, but no coffee maker; no cups for water in the room; I put out the “do not disturb” sign but they still made up my room; and the restaurant served me a breakfast sandwich on a bagel that had been microwaved until it was rock hard. (The filling and greens were fresh and tasty). All in all, not one of these warranted a complaint, but all together they made a difference.

The bar at the entrance was good, and the bartender was friendly and polite, which was a nice first impression. At check-out I was charged a $35 per day “facilities fee,” which felt like I paid twice and even completely unjustified since the hotel basically had no services. The rooftop was closed, even though it was shown as open in the photos. Throughout the entire night we heard a lot of noise, including a woman screaming, and overall we felt unsafe during our stay. The surrounding area was also very bad and did not feel secure. I received an upgrade through Booking, but the room was still very disappointing: it had a huge window facing another building, so people could see inside perfectly, with zero privacy. Additionally, the staff at the reception were Latino and spoke very little English, which made communication difficult.

However, I do have one significant complaint: the fire alarms went off all night long during my stay. It was quite disruptive, and unfortunately, there was no complimentary offer or even an apology from the management. It seems like this might be a new trend in how businesses operate, which is disappointing. Overall, while the hotel has great potential with its location and room quality, the experience was marred by the alarm issue. I hope they can address this in the future.

Ozge was so kind!!!! During check in, she explained everything so well. She let us choose between lower or higher level floor!! Thank you for everything!! The hotel was always clean, I enjoyed the complimentary coffee/water/sparkling water! We were always greeted by the receptionist. Had a fire alarm go off Saturday night, but we were assured it was just a false alarm. Location is great.

I had to re-enter front door of hotel to check out...I was so angry and all I got was an "I am sorry " I will never stay there again. I will put this review on all of the travel sites too. Also, very few channels on TV worked and the thermostat did not work...and the wall to room next door sounds like it is paper thin. Also, I tried for 2 nights to redeem my "free cocktail" voucher and the bartender never approached me...i was the only one sitting at bar. After 20 minutes i left. On the 3rd night, i was able to redeem it but still had to wait 15 minutes and I was the only one sitting there.

Rm 69=dorm room. Next to elevator, missing blinds, extremely low light. Hotel not for people under 35. I could not see my clothes to get ready. Could not see my reflection in the mirror. Desk said no lamps available. That’s our design—moody/dark.

When I checked in late that night, everything seemed fine. But later that week, I noticed an extra $268 charge on my card. When I called to ask about it, I was told it was a “No Show Charge.” This made absolutely no sense since I physically checked in and stayed at the hotel, and nowhere on their website do they mention such a policy. After multiple days and repeated calls, I finally spoke to a manager who agreed to issue a refund. However, even then, they only reimbursed me part of the amount instead of the full charge. This feels like a deliberate scam tactic... charging guests hidden fees after their stay, then refusing to return the full amount even after proof is provided. It’s dishonest and unprofessional. ⚠️ Highly recommend avoiding this hotel and booking elsewhere. There are plenty of other options that don’t resort to shady practices like this.

While the staff was very friendly and accommodating, I believe the photos didn’t properly capture what the room looked liked like. The room was smaller in person and felt like it wasn’t originally intended to be a hotel. The shower extended into the room and individuals showering could be seen by people in the bedroom. Additionally there was no proper counter space and only a small ledge by the sink. The sink was also quite shallow so water would splash while using it. Location wise it was very good, however, be aware that the space is smaller than depicted and has a less ideal bathroom set up.

I was with another woman (friends not a couple) and booked a twin/double room expecting twin beds. Upon checking in, was told that room type did not exist. So we shared a bed. It was fine for one night. Expedia needs to change the description. However, if you have the light on in the bathroom, the person on the other side of the wall can see into the shower. So we showered (separately) in the dark. A really bad design feature. The bed is a mattress on a platform and it was comfortable enough. The tub shower was so deep it was hard to get into. And for some odd reason the shelf with the towels on it was 6 inches from the ceiling. We had to climb on the toilet to get them. The common areas are nice. Has a nice rooftop bar.

New management at this hotel has driven it into the ground. This used to be a sophisticated boutique hotel and now it is a bit of a dump. So dissapointed. Loved the location, but I will never go back after having been many times in the past.

We refused to stay in after seeing the state of the property. Room was covered in cracks both on the walls and wooden fixtures. Stains on the floor near the need that looked like bodily fluids. SHOWER DID NOT HAVE COURTAINS AND POINTED AT THE BED FOR VIEWING! Absolutely disgusting. Now the place is trying to refuse a refund. Please somebody from Expedia contact me

I had a wonderful stay at this property in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan. The location was incredibly convenient — close to everything I needed and surrounded by amazing food options, from casual bites to upscale dining and lots of art exhibitions! The room itself was unique and thoughtfully designed. It was the perfect blend of comfort and style. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in a vibrant, walkable neighborhood!

Location is okay, I opted for staying out of midtown to avoid some of the noise which it was great for, at least 10/15 minutes to walk to a subway so again doable but not too practical. I think there’s a bus stop nearer but we didn’t get round to trying it. A few small restaurants and delis nearby and great location for Hudson Yards. We got a complimentary upgrade which was very much appreciated, and don’t be put off by the nightclub as there were events 2 of the nights we stayed and we couldn’t hear a thing on the 9th floor. Bed was extremely comfortable, nice to have a tv and 2 fresh bottles of water per day, shower takes a while to warm up (about 5 minutes) but once it’s on it’s good, just a shame that the rooms seem a bit run down and could do with the smaller things being refreshed.

The Alameda is a nice hotel on the west side in Mid-town New York. While the hotel is a convenient location the rooms are not that great. The bed is very low to the floor and it is hard to get in and out. The toilet is very high and there is no refrigerator. The air conditioner did not work and it was really hot at night.

I chose this hotel for it’s proximity to an event I was attending. I didn’t have high expectations based on price and photos but it was suitable. By biggest issue was that this hotel was freezing cold. Granted I was cold from my walk from the train station but even the lobby bar patrons were sitting having drinks in their coats. The room is mostly concrete and metal adding to the cell like atmosphere. I couldn’t get the heat above probably 65 in my room so I slept in a sweat shirt and hat. I figured it wouldn’t help to call about it since the rest of the hotel was cold as well. My mistake- in the morning I noticed it was warmer in the hall than my room so I asked the desk about my heat. By the end of the day they had put a space heater in my room. This provided a much needed solution. Lesson learned- ask right way! Overall the hotel is dated with limited amenities so I wouldn’t stay again but I did appreciate that the staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff are lovely. I stayed in a Deluxe Queen room - spacewise it was fine especially for NY but other than the bed and bedding which were honestly great the room needs a “refresh”. New coat of paint, repair holes in the wall. A mini fridge would be nice. Security latch on the door was gone and there’s no safe in the room. Tbh I also found the black hallways off putting but that’s probably just a personal taste thing. Overall I think that with a little TLC this property could definitely score higher but the friendly staff get a big thumbs up.

Hotel name changed, staff seemed unfamiliar with local attractions such as City Winery at Pier 57. Lacked professionalism

Stayed in a loft on the 9th floor. It had great ambiance at night, polished cement floor, view of the Empire State Building. The best thing about the hotel is its location with easy access to the High Line, very enjoyable for a morning or evening stroll. It’s kind of an odd place - sometimes you walk in and the hotel lobby is a full on night club and other times it’s empty and quiet. Kinks are still being worked out. I tried purchasing some wine spritzes for the room and the bartender wasn’t sure what to charge for them. The hotel shows up as Selena on the map but now has a different name. Other minor things: The rain shower doesn’t extend very far into/above the tub. The TV is a little difficult to navigate. But as a whole I’m glad I stayed. Didn’t feel like a sterile hotel and more like staying in an apartment.

Very worn hotel. The air conditioning was so loud we needed to get moved room, which ended up being the same. There was an even on our last night and the building was shaking with loud music until the early hours with the bar and roof closed to guests. Poor sleep and very damaged/shabby interior of rooms. This is more of a nightclub vibe than expected. Really disappointed. And a resort fee on arrival!

Secondly, it drew a younger crowd, probably the main factor being the rooftop bar. I'm in my mid 30s and it just wasn't our vibe. We went up to use our complimentary drink cards and decided to go right back down to the room; it just looked kind of shoddy and tacky, not well put together in order to enjoy. It felt more like an outdoor bar than rooftop. The rooftop parts you could enjoy were through a threshold and near the edge of the building. Just not what we were expecting. There was one night, a Friday night if I'm not mistaken, I was awoken to what sounded like a party right next door to my room. I immediately was taken back to college. It took me a little bit to fall back asleep. That night was the only night with an issue. At check-in, I was shown a sheet with the overall hotel info; there is a kitchen but no free meals. Like I said, I still very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for sure!

Hotel reservation says 22 dollar resort fee. charged a 28 dollar resort fee. The front counter person did her job but was difficult to understand talking really fast. The whole building is more a night club than a hotel, even now as I right this my room is shaking from the rooftop event. And the room. There was dust bunnies all over floor and counter, there is. Scratches scuffs and broken light switches, burn. Mark on the wall. Lobby smelled like pot. Glad this is just for one night. It certainly is not a 4 star anything
