Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the central location and friendly staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with the small rooms, poor maintenance, and elevator issues. The breakfast is a highlight for some, while others find it limited and crowded.

The AC unit in our room was leaking. They put a wastebasket underneath it, but our floor was still damp. The dripping and wet carpet smell was off-putting.
- 4/5
The room was clean and staff very nice. Breakfast was a nice plus. The building itself was a bit dated but great location
- 4/5
Decent price, 10 mins walking distance to Time Square and MSG
- 5/5
Happy with the stay
- 4/5
The hotel is good, the location is in the center of Manhattan, excellent service, the hotel needs renovation, the elevators are not serviced properly. Mrs. Turiya, Ricardo and Taylor were very nice, excellent room service, the rooms are a bit small, we are already at the hotel for the second time.
- 3/5
Un edificio muy viejo, no lo que uno espera a ver uno un hotel, pero para estar en Manhattan y por el precio que se paga no puedes esperar mucho.
- 2/5
Can improve on the breakfast and the 4 person hotel rooms were quite small.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean though not well maintained. The breakfast was convenient but getting there was very slow on the packed tight elevators. If you’re on a high floor wake up early to get to breakfast to avoid elevator delays. If you’re on a low floor it’s easier to take the stairs, I would ask for a low floor that I can walk next time. The luggage storage was essential to our trip and I was grateful for it. It made me a little nervous that it was in the lobby and just roped off instead of being placed in a back room, but we had no problems with it. The room felt small with 4 people but there was a decent amount of closet and drawer space which was very helpful.
- 4/5
Older building, not much upkeep. Rooms were okay
- 4/5
The location was good, near Times Square. Furnishings were older however. The space is tight. For the price, I would have expected a microwave and mini fridge.
- 5/5
Helpful staff and good breakfast.
- 5/5
Property was close to many places of interest in New York City. Room was small but comfortable. Not a new hotel but clean. Staff were very nice and helpful. Marquis checked on us daily. Breakfast was very good. Only glitch was our room card kept having to be reprogrammed but staff did that kindly. Would stay again for sure.
- 4/5
The breakfast was fresh. The staff was nice. The hotel is a little outdated and could use a renovation to upgrade the furniture. The bathroom is small and the tub was stained with something rough on the surface.
- 1/5
Elevator takes forever. Rooms are dated and not cleaned properly.
- 5/5
Very supportive staff, clean rooms. Nice breakfast

The room smelled of urine
- 4/5
Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
location is perfect and close to everything 5 to 12 blocks way all the art centers , museums and all the things to see. the food was very plenty restaurants or vendors or coffees and bakeries. to many shops also to shop anything you need. I really hoped to have a small fridge in the room but anyway ice machines is in every 5 floors.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff. I don’t have any complaints.
- 3/5
Great location and good breakfast service. Only a few maintenance improvements are needed, such as fixing the toilet, was constantly running, improving the elevador flooring, replacing the old carpets, and completing maintenance on the lectrical areas. These small changes that would greatly improve the overall experience and help make this hotel the first choice for future stays, even at a higher rate.
- 5/5
It was clean and sufficient for my stay.

I went down to the front desk explain the situation and she told me the hotel was full, and there was nothing they could do about it. But I could check in with her on a daily basis, and if a double room becomes available, I can move for an extra $25 a day. I explained my situation regarding the surgery. Her tone in her attitude was very disregarding. I’ve never had an issue like that at any Holiday Inn express. So I will not be returning there when I come back to Manhattan for the second surgery.
- 4/5
Location was great, close to Times Square and 42nd Street train station. Helpful staff, nice breakfast though it could get busy sometimes (usually after 930 AM). Complimentary water bottles at the reception. No noise in the room and it was cleaned everyday. Room was small but comfortable. Not a luxury hotel, but it perfectly met my needs. I had no issues with elevator, sometimes it got busy but I never waited for more than 5 minutes for it. Cleaning in the rooms could be better. Shower could be better too.

Very nice stay with a very convenient location to everything. The free breakfast was skimpy in a tiny spot and took forever but it was not a deal breaker. The staff was very nice and the room was clean and as expected.
- 3/5
The bad: Elevators (up to 20 minutes wait), No bacon for breakfast :) Very crowded breakfast area at rush hours. Not the cleanest room, but good enough. Furniture and bath tube worn out, but works OK.

Excellent location within Manhattan. At first glance, a good price for the hotel. Free bottled water and chips at the reception. However, the staff working in hotels in poor technical condition Two beds with dimensions of 140x190cm for 4 people are unacceptable, the bathroom is not ventilated, the room is musty, the duvets and pillows smelled. Every other evening the card to unlock the room did not work. Breakfast poor. Low selection of dishes. Almost no options to sit down for breakfast.
- 2.5/5
The staff was very helpful the breakfast area was always lean no matter how packed it was and the view we had was beautiful the pillows were super soft The rooms were a little outdated the mattress was hard and the furniture looked a little worn down also there were hairs on the sheets when we pulled the covers back
- 4/5
Close to time square The breakfast was a bit of let down with the cooked buffet
- 3.5/5
Great location for our planned activities Elevators seemed to not work properly. Rooms were much smaller than they looked in the booking ad
- 2/5
The entrance was dirty and mattresses were at the entrance. Crazy and the room was not ready until 5 pm. Room was dirty, the bathtub had blood and the dresser’s drawer was broken. Not coming back here.
- 4/5
Great location to Times Square. We would return.

staff was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Our room was better than expected and very clean at check in. Service was great every time we needed or requesting something. How helpful and nice the staff was. Front desk ( I forgot her name) was amazing! she was very helpful and took care of our needs. And we we a group of 9.
- 3.5/5
Great location, beds were very comfy and the staff were lovely There was quite a wait for the elevator at times and I think they were changing mattresses over so there were days where the lobby was filled with new mattresses and outside had old ones stacked up. They were using one of the two elevators to take the new mattresses up which left only one elevator for guests to use

Location. Not close to subway, though. Elevator, pretty busy!! Very tight spaces, a bit messy for how crowded it was.
- 3/5
Bed and pillows very comfortable.
- 4/5
A little outdated. Bed was not very comfortable. There was no fridge or microwave in the room. But very helpful staff and great location!
- 3/5
The place was clean and good location. The only problem was rooms were very small and our A/C was releasing dust bunnies from not being cleaned out and one mattress in our room was sunken in on the side so i kept rolling off the bed. We noticed mattresses being delivered so hopefully they all get changed out.
- 2/5
The breakfast..was fresh. The elevator took forever..then gets crowded..People push you to get in..there is no room in the lobby..People were rude...staff (front desk) needs to be more friendly and welcoming.

We stayed for four nights in a king room. We were on the 33rd floor with no view. There are no amenities like gym, pool or laundry. There is no refrigerator in the room or microwave. There are two elevators. In the morning the cleaning staff are using the elevators, right around breakfast time. Breakfast consists of premade cold fried eggs, cold pancakes, sausage patties and bacon. It takes sometimes 30 mins for an elevator to arrive and get up to the room. They do have daily maid service. Bathroom is very small. Room is small. It is located near Times Square and tons of restaurants and transportation.
- 3/5
The rooms are small however we didn't have any issues only with connecting to the WIFI other than that things smooth. The complimentary snacks and water were a plus
- 4/5
The bad: the mattress for our king size bed was horrible, it was sunken in on one side. They were changing matresses for the whole hotel which made the elevator have a long wait time but they did not get to our floor during our stay so the bed stayed an issue all weekend. No fridge or microwave in the rooms but I guess that was on me for not reading the whole description, thought that was standard. We left a souvenier in one of the rooms and after it was cleaned from check out they stated there was nothing in the room but that is where we last left it for sure which was concerning. It was never found.

- 3/5
Room too small, floor on elevators muffle. Practically no space in the room to move within
- 3/5
Elevator wait time is very long
- 3/5
The location was good. The room itself left things to be desired. The tub would not drain so you stood in your own dirty water. The tub had a hole in the floor that was just covered over with a sticky mat. The shower curtain was broken off prior and kinda reglued back on the wall. One if 2 elevators was out of service when we arrived, being on the 35th floor made that a bit difficult. Staff was great and breakfast was super popular. Fir 1 night being over $430 I was not impressed and wouldn't go back.
- 1/5
Room is too small. Bathroom was horrible. Too pricy as per facilities.
- 4/5
The room was very quiet despite the construction and noise of the neighborhood. It was not a very long walk to the Port authority station for the subway or the bus., also appreciated the great air conditioning that I could control in my room. I found the bed to be kind of lumpy and uncomfortable.. there were only two small elevators for 36 floors of guests. That could be a problem around certain times of the day.. also there was not a fridge or microwave in the room like many other hotels have.
- 4/5
Good option near to Times square
- 5/5
Ok
- 3.5/5
Great location and most staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast options were good and free water/cookies were appreciated. Asking for a $250 deposit upon arrival when it was not made clear before hand. The use of disposable plates and cutlery is awful as it’s bad for the environment & not the nicest. Only two lifts which become very busy and staff end up disabling 1 lift so they can do their maintenance work or move things quickly whilst it takes forever to get to and from your hotel room. The breakfast area is very tiny and if you arrive any later than 7am, expect to take your food elsewhere or even to your room because there will be no space to eat. The AC can also be extremely loud and will come on randomly at 3am and you’ll think there is a train in your room with how loud it is!!! This was also very expensive with this costing nearly £1000 for a 5 night stay so I feel like you are paying for the convenience of staying near times square & a breakfast every morning rather than a nice hotel stay so keep that in mind.
- 5/5
Great location. Breakfast was very good.
- 1/5
The floors were dirty The elevator floors were cracked. There were no amenities. The hotel didn't even have a comfortable lobby. It was the worst stay ever. The cleaning staff didn't speak English so we couldn't communicate when she knocked on the door.

El dezayuno le falta mas cantidad y variedad las camas estan malas
- 3.5/5
The front desk officers are very helpful all the time; inquiries are always answered on point. The housekeeping and the people from breakfast are very warm and accommodating. Hopefully the management would do renovation part by part of the building or make some upgrades in the lobby/ rooms.

Staff was competent and informative as they experienced technical difficulties. Lobby was clean and was able to work as needed while waiting for the checkin time. Late checkout was available and given with no hesitation.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent.
- 5/5
Everyday they clean my room, very nice breakfast and very nice located.
- 3/5
I wanted to start the day off easy so really liked that they included a good breakfast, but it didn't have enough staff and planning. The room was super crowded, two times the sausage was overcooked and nearly inedible. They had a pancake maker that was slow, but they also tried to keep other pancakes available. They ran out of napkins and had paper towels out. Instead of it being a relaxing breakfast, it was pretty chaotic, but the staff was great.

- 3/5
Convenient location
- 2/5
Room key didn't work. Whenever i tried to open the door, i had to put the key in the machine more than 20-30 times. Staff forgot refill of coffee everyday.
- 5/5
Minor issues: Elevator wait is very long especially at peak times. Many guests stay at hotel so having only 2 elevators causes delays. Also due to large number of guests, the eating area is small so get crowded
- 4/5
The hotel was in a great location , room small but it is New York . Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff was good. Nice amenities like water and juice and cookies in the lobby. As for the breakfast, I heard it was good ,but we wen for it the first day . The place was packed and you couldn’t get up or down the elevators. Aroma Cafe fit the bill for great coffee and un-crowded space, so we did not let that bother us,
- 4/5
In all honesty the staff was great and helpful, elevators were excellent, and room size was ideal given the location. The furniture was a bit worn but the mates was great and it was very clean. I’d gladly choose that again for a a business trip.

- 5/5
The rooms were small but the beds were confortable & you don't spend much time in the room anyway. There are only 2 elevators for 36 floors, so there was usually a wait in the mornings. Staff were great!
- 3/5
Easy to go around Times Square, 5th Avenue, Central Park…dated hotel not really a IHG. Check in just ok.
- 3/5
Staff and location and no bad surprises Breakfast good Over priced Elevator capacity
- 2/5
And the elevator was sooo busy. You will wait a long time for it. we got a room on the 15th floor. In order to go down, best strategy is to go round trip (go up and just ride again all the down. Good things: 1. welcome home package of 2 drinks and a snack 2. Breakfast - good 3. Location - great as it close to Timesquare and broadway
- 3/5
Most of the issues are with the fact that it's a 30-story building with two elevators and five rooms per floor. Getting an elevator can be an issue. The locks on the doors were really tricky--we were told that holding the key near your wallet, other credit cards, your phone, etc will demagnatize it, and that may be true, but it was hard to get into our room even with a brand new key. Going all the way back to the lobby with the busyness of the elevators was a hassle. Also, our air conditioner was VERY noisy and it made it hard to sleep. There wasn't a lot of street noise, though, and that was good. The rooms are tiny. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced room in a good location, this may be good for you, especially if you don't plan to spend much time there.

The breakfast room is not big enough for the amount of customers, we had to go down super early to get a table. People queuing to get seated & quite chaotic. Breakfast selection excellent though. There are 2 lifts, which again, not adequate for amount of people. Had to wait quite a long time for a lift to arrive which was usually full so had to wait again, not good when on a high floor Good location, 5 minutes walk to Times Square & 3 minutes to nearest subway
- 4/5
The room was small but fairly comfortable, the breakfast was fresh, hot, and tasted good. Everything was clean and we had a good stay. The location is amazing, walking distance from Times Square. The beds were a little too squishy, especially when 2 people slept on them. There were only 2 lifts for 36 floors and one of them stopped working on the second day, but the lifts were fast.

I definitely enjoyed everything and the location is my favorite part.
- 3/5
The room was hot. We had to open the window for cold air but then we had to listen to all the city noise. They only provided two bath towels and they took the ones we brought from home. The lady by the name of Touria was EXTREMELY rude. I parked my vehicle in valet and asked for three nights of valet parking. The next morning we needed our vehicle for our tour and she said, “if you take your vehicle out, we will charge you again”. I was like, “why are you going to charge me again? I paid for three nights of valet at $80 per night? Why can’t I take my vehicle out? She said, “people here in New York use public transportation, they don’t drive so don’t take your car out!” I was thoroughly confused. I called back when I returned from my daily activities to make sure I was only charged for 1 night. After she was yelling at us, I told her she was extremely RUDE and she doesn’t understand English, she finally said valet is charged daily and there are no in and out privileges. I told her the hotel better only charge me for one night and I ended up using the parking garage across the street which only charged me $70 a night and we were able to go in and out. Touria needs to be retrained on how to speak to paying customers. She should not be in the hospitality department if she continues to speak to people the way she spoke to the four of us. We are not stupid and we are Americans who speak English fluently. Won’t recommend this hotel if she still works there.

Staff was very helpful. Our room clean and the breakfast was great. Definitely staying in this hotel when Im back in NY.

Great location, clean room, and friendly staff! Budget-friendly, especially for the location. Expect long waits for the elevators, rooms have minimal appliances (e.g., no mini fridge to put away food), and the bathrooms could be better (clean, but the wear and tear over the years is evident). While the property has excellent security, there are suspicious people who loiter outside the hotel, so please be careful when you’re stepping out. Overall, for a few days, this is a good place to stay if you’re looking to save some money.

1. Every single mattress has springs sticking out of it. I had to sleep with a pillow under my back. 2. They moved us rooms 4 times and each room had an even bigger issue. They should've made it right the first time we asked to be moved. 3. Staff were so unhelpful, management was rude. One of the rooms they moved us to was freshly painted and we got black paint all over our nice dresses we tried to hang up in the closet. The management said "you didn't smell the paint?" Why would they put anyone in a room with a freshly painted closet that was BLACK. We sent photos to Expedia and management is ignoring Expedia requests for refund. Also the AC units in room all have black ashes flying out when turned on. I felt like I was in a homeless shelter. We would've loved to go somewhere else but they refused to give our money back. OR a receipt! Do not stay here!! The maids also ignore the "do not disturb" signs and banged on our door at 8am to clean multiple times. It's an absolute horrible stay and they should be shut down.

Room was small and outdated but clean, we stayed on 30th floor so the view was fantastic. Location is good, sometimes we passed suspicious people due to close proximity to Port Authority Bus Terminal but there usually were police patrols on streets so we felt safe. They agreed to keep our luggage free of charge until our flight which was very nice. Breakfast was very underwhelming, we did not expect much from a complimentary breakfast but we were still disappointed. Paper plates and plastic forks, no vegetables and a very cold crowded canteen.
- 5/5
Had a great stay. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great and always well replenished. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.
- 4/5
Staff was nice and helpful. The only issue we had with our stay was the elevators. Sometimes you would have to wait for a long period of time.
- 4.5/5
The room was clean, excellent value for money. I stayed in a room on one of the upper floors and had brilliant views, including the Empire State Building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area for breakfast had limited seating and I decided not to stay for breakfast. A nice option would have been to have takeaway boxes for guests who want to get out and about. This is a minor quibble, the rest of the stay was brilliant.
- 4.5/5
The location and desk service. I had to keep going to the front desk to reset my access card for the room every time we stepped out of the hotel.

The location was good. Close to metro and the main places I had to go. The room was cleaned and bed was confortable. My bath tub was clogged but they fix that. It was impossible to take the elevator in the morning. The breakfast was ok but not great. The staff did a mistake when charging me on the first day - they charge me the full stay on the first day but the CC disappeared from their system and they couldn't do the check-out. Then one of the staff (a woman) tried to fix this mistake at the checkout asking me for the CC but not explaining the reason. I understood I had already paid everything on the first day, my card was already with the charges, so I was not understanding why she needed my CC again. She was rude with me and didn't want to explain the reason she needed the CC again, for something that was their mistake. Another staff was very polite and explained what it had happened and the reason to charge me again.

Box spring mattress was broken on one of the beds and mattress wasn’t comfortable on both beds, I asked for a discounted rate because of the beds and just got a sorry that happened to you.

Good breakfast, hospitable staff, functional and relatively quiet room, especially for NYC.
- 2/5
Too much noise.

Decent hotel nearby all the action in times square. No frills, free breakfast, and some free snacks and drinks in the lobby. The room was small but clean and decent. The elevator was extremely unreliable and got stuck a few times. Be ready to go up and down the stairs to your room! Not a good place for disabled folks to stay.

House keeping never showed up for our 3 nights stay / breakfast run out of sausage and eggs a little after 7 am I told a staff but no refills showed up / card key stops working every time we went out we had to go back to the front desk to recharge every single day/ staff were all friendly and helpful/ the destination fee to pay at the hotel went up more than I was informed from Hotels.com at the reservation because the hotel updated their fee recently and didn't honor the price I was informed./I wish there was a small table and one more chair for eating takeout food but I know the room space was limited.Other than that , I think this hotel is ok as a budget hotel. Great location where just 15 minutes walk from Amtrak station and theaters and restaurants are right there. A lot of free / welcome goodies like water bottles, snacks, and fresh juice./ I don't mind to come back here to stay again

It was great
- 4/5
Breakfast was hot with pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns and sausage as well as oatmeal, bagels and bread. Cold options included fresh fruit, cream cheese, yogurt (some days), milk, and cereal. Staff were attentive. Dining area was crowded and elevator service was congested. Adding on 1/2 service till 10.30AM might lighten the load of residents in the 9-10AM period. Coffee was fresh and good strength.. Room was clean and cleaning staff attentive to guests' needs. Since we stayed for 2 weeks we did not require daily cleaning service, but we often needed to ask for fresh towels, cloths, etc as well as paper supplies. It was difficult to get tissues. Need to keep adequate stock. We waited 4 days which was not good. Trash was dealt with daily as we placed it outside our door along with recyclables. That worked well. Elevator service was good except during breakfast hours when all guests were using elevators. Maintanience staff was most responsive. Thank you for a good staff in all these expected and necessary services.
- 4/5
Very conveniently located. Kind helpful staff.
- 3/5
It was so hard to use elevator, for 34 floors they have two elevator. At morning always we had problems to catch the elevator and we should come down with stairs luckily we were on 6 floors imagine if we were on the higher floor
- 3/5
Walking distance to most tourists' must see spots, easy access to subways. Bottled water so generously available at front desk. Very pleasing reception staff. Easy check in & check out. Bfast tho can use improvement. Stayed there for 4nyts & bfast was the same exact fare daily. Tiny bfast space. Best to get ur food early.peak time starts 830& place gets super tight. Be prepared for delays due to elevator availability. Allow at least 10mins before a lift opens at ur floor.

A mi familia y a mi nos encantó el hotel todo excelente volvemos

The STAFF!!!!!! Every staff member at this location was pleasant. It did not matter the shift, the time of day/night, I mean everyone was so kind. It was so crowded and so many people checking in and out this week around the same time and everyone employed was willing to help in any way with whatever need. I would stay here again just for the hospitality. The location was great, the room was clean, the AC worked amazingly! Good snacks to purchase. Water and chips at the front desk. I don’t typically type hotel reviews but this one deserved it. Thank you so much!
- 4/5
The elevators were having trouble.

- 4/5
The property was clean, in a good location and offered a complimentary breakfast.
- 4/5
One thing that really stood out was the complimentary hot breakfast each morning. It was convenient, well-stocked, and a great way to start the day without having to hunt for food right away. I also want to give a special shoutout to the manager, who went above and beyond by providing us with a mini fridge upon request so we could properly store my son’s medication. That level of care and responsiveness made a big difference for us and didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, a great stay with friendly service. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Great location
- 4/5
Breakfast was great. We had 2 rooms. In one room the thermostat was not working and the temperature dropped from 67 to 60 in that room and it was cold. Otherwise, nice clean room.
- 5/5
Being from a small town and not expecting anything fancy, it was perfect for a one night stay. Upper floor was very quiet.
- 5/5
Great price for the location, Large Breakfast spread with multiple options, Clean rooms
- 4/5
The property is old and the rooms are pretty small.. we were family of 4 and had 2 double beds and there wae no moving space at all. Had selected city view but there was not much you could see. Don’t know how the other no view rooms were so I would not care next time if there was a view and pay extra. I’d rather pay for bigger room than the view. There’s no fridge fyi. Staff was very helpful and were able to suggest if we should walk or take the uber or the train, that helped us a lot for our 2 day stay. Will likely pick this one again for the price.
- 3/5
If you’re trying to get out in the morning via the elevator, expect to wait a WHILE. With only two small elevators, they are not equipped to hall the amount of people they have staying at the hotel at any given time. Other than that, the hotel was relatively clean. Most of the ice machines were broken, but the ac worked fine.
- 5/5
Staff were helpful and accommodating! Truly felt like home away from home!
- 4/5
Hotel is in an excellent location, don’t be put off by the facade! The building is tired but rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed. There are 36 floors and 6 rooms on each floor. The most enormous bed and I have to say it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in in a hotel. Big, bouncy pillows and immaculate bedding. Towels, flannels, bath mat were changed every day regardless of whether they’d been used. Dove shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and body lotion is provided in big bottles. An ice bucket is provided with ice machines on a few floors. A coffee machine with pods is beside the bed. Alarm clock, hairdryer, tissues, iron and ironing board and a free to use safe are also in the room. There are only two lifts and we did have to wait a while at breakfast time but never at other times. In reception there are bottles of water, packets of crisps and fresh cookies in paper bags that you can help yourself to. Breakfast was like a cattle market, a tiny breakfast room with plastic chairs and tables and not a huge selection but it was very tasty. The reception staff were fairly helpful, however we arrived at midnight and they took a security deposit for each of the 3 identical room I had booked, different amounts, $225 to $165 but no reason why they were different. They couldn’t provide a receipt for these and when we checked out and I asked for them to be refunded to my card she said it wasn’t anything to do with the hotel. I’m praying I get it back!!

Staff Breakfast Air conditioning
- 4/5
The room lacked a refrigerator and microwave.
- 4.5/5
Excellent location, walkable to Times Square, plenty of restaurants, Port Authority and Times Square subway stations. Hot and cold breakfast bar items are a great way to start the your busy day. Bed was comfortable, room condition clean, wear was about par. Little bonus perks like free daily water bottles, chips and fresh lemonade and sweet tea made it a notch above. Elevator waits could get long during peak times. Only opted for stairs once. They were a somewhat treacherous due to being steep and having narrow treads.

Pros: A place to rest your head after a long day. Cons: this hotel has many issues. The appliances are outdated. The breakfast is terrible nasty, dry pancakes, nasty eggs, hot juice with no ice. I went to the front desk and asked Mrs. Touria about ice for juice and she told me that i should go on the 35 floor for ice if i want ice in my juice. I had to be playing Plumber on the toilet that was keeping me up all night. Mr. Williams lacking customer service, I was talking to him and he had his black comb , combing his beard in front of the desk while talking to me. He had bad attitude and doesn’t give you a chance to explain my concerns. Mr. Ricardo was a breath of fresh air, very pleasant to talk to, always smiling and very professional. The elevator is very slow, bathroom dirty with brown dirty marks on wall. I will never come back to this hotel, the Hyatt hotel beside you all is where I’ll be staying going forward. This hotel doesn’t have any type of class, they are no competition for the other hotels around them. Not happy!!
- 5/5
Great spot. Nearby a lot of places you want to see in NYC and can walk as well and safe. Only thing is breakfast can be a little crowded.
- 4/5
I would probably stay there again.
- 4/5
Not to bad but very busy place
- 2/5
This time, the staff seemed unwelcoming—they weren't friendly at all.
- 2/5
Front desk lady Touria was passive aggressive and rude. Not clear with directions.
- 2/5
It was buffet. If you didn’t get it when it came out, you’re eating cold food. The fan would be cold when it was cold out and turn off when it was hot out. Unbelievable!!
- 4/5
The attention of the reception ladies was excellent, very friendly and always smiling. The room was fine, but the bathroom made a lot of noise in the air, even when everything was off. The breakfast was very good, many things to choose from and fresh.
- 4/5
Decent room but could do with some TLC. Breakfast was challenging both in terms of finding somewhere to sit as well as the offerings. If you want coffee and cereal you should be ok. We chose to go out for breakfast as NYC has so much choice.
- 5/5
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- 5/5
This is a great find if you're coming to NYC for the first time, or are on a budget. It's right in the heart of Manhattan and all the subways. There's a warm, free breakfast for you to fill up before spending $$$$$ on other NYC meals. The room is simple, but clean. Heater was great.
- 0.5/5
The pillows were comfortabke. Old/dirty...needs refurbishing. USB ports don't work in room. Mattresses are rock hard. Staff was less than helpful and not friendly.
- 5/5
Parking was high on Expedia
- 4/5
The breakfast was really good. Customer service was excellent.
- 5/5
The staff is incredible! They went out of their was to make me feel comfortable & happy. My room was always very clean. Location is ideal!
- 4/5
Rooms are a little dated and walls paper thin but location to times square was excellent. Breakfast buffet was manic with not enough seating but it was spring break
- 2.5/5
2 many floors for only 2 elevators. Breakfast was fair.
- 4/5
Great breakfast
- 1/5
Bed was caved in. Wasnt comfortable. Bugs in the shower. Elevator didnt work.
- 1/5
The building itself is very old and poorly maintained. During breakfast, if you arrive a bit late, there is hardly any food left. Even the elevator was often overcrowded, making the stay uncomfortable. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations and was very disappointing.
- 4/5
••••••••
- 5/5
Very easy!
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms. Crowded lobby and breakfast but otherwise great experience.
- 5/5
overall it is a compact hotel with everything.
- 4/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Clean room and comfortable bed. The only drawback was that the elevator was overcrowded most of the time.
- 3/5
Bien situé et coût des chambres raisonnables.
- 4/5
There was a very squeaky door in room near by or above us that seemed to be used all night and day. So loud it woke me a couple of times. The bellman was very friendly and helpful. I felt misled when I asked for a King and it wasn’t a traditional sized king. When I enquired at the desk they just brushed it off like everyone should know that New York has smaller kings. I measured it, it’s smaller than a ‘hotel’ king. I’m 5’2 and my feet hung over the end! I personally would not recommend this location. It’s very dated, loud and breakfast was incredibly crowded and under stocked. It was as clean as an old building could get (except the red stains on our carpets)
- 2/5
If you are staying here, ensure you have very low expectations. Rooms are extremely dated, furniture is very worn. Gentleman at check-in was not friendly at all. No eye contact, no warm welcome. Nothing. The gal at check out today was no better. Took the keys at all she said was all set. Never said thank you. Lobby area is a dump. Empty water canisters, never had anything in them. Overall, extremely disappointed. I will not return. This trip reminded me why I usually stay at Hilton branded properties. This place is a dive!
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
Room 2101 was fairly clean. The A/C worked well. No issues/problems with the shower or running hot water. The bed was comfortable. The space inside the room was comfortable for the 2 of us. I denied room cleaning, however, they were on point with replacing clean towels (at my request). We didn’t eat breakfast there, however, they kept a restock of water and lemonade in the lobby area as we navigated to and from the hotel. I definitely will stay there again!
- 3/5
The hotel room mattresses had lumps and the elevators stop working a couple of times during the morning hours while the free breakfast was going on.
- 3/5
The room was bad it got fixed in two days. Had to deal with hot air in room. Small place for breakfast. No other place to sit and eat. Two elevators definitely not enough for such crowd place. Had to wait More than 15 mins just for elevators. TV was bad none of channels were good enough to see. Just dots all over tv. Windows were not clean. Not much options in bathrooms like shaving kit or dental kits. Pretty basic and very highly charged for that facility. Not worthy.
- 3/5
Not what i expected.
- 5/5
The breakfast was the best ever
- 3/5
The staff was thoughtful and kind. Willing to help and accommodate so many requests. The hotel was less than stellar. Broken pieces and almost broken showers and sinks. Breakfast was always out of something; plates, napkins, utensils, hot water, milk. Elevator almost broken and very scary to ride up to the floors. Had the staff not been as great as they were it would ha e been much lower over all rating.
- 2.5/5
Looked run down and unclean
- 5/5
Need to update the rooms
- 5/5
My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express Times Square. It was exactly what was needed for our purpose. I performed at Lincoln Center, and it was convenient and close to the venue, so I could arrive on time by walking or Uber. Thank you for the bottles of water! I will keep this on my list of hotels that are priority picks for us.
- 3.5/5
I liked the precise menu options consisting fried eggs & potatoes in addition to fresh fruits, fruit juices & cupcakes. The space in the restaurant for having breakfast could be better. The noise of the elevator while going up & down is heard inside the room.
- 5/5
the cleaning staff / maintenance crew was absolutely amazing and very respectful i hope they get paid well for the great work they do with up keeping the facilities. Touria from the front desk was very efficient kind and professional. There was another woman at the front desk in the later evenings that was not as friendly and did not want to provide water bottles for some reason. i hope she receives the proper training she clearly needs. overall great experience for the price paid.
- 4/5
overall good place to stay, breakfast can be hectic will lack of space
- 3/5
The internet was good and the breakfast inclusion fee was great. The housekeeping however was sometimes irregular.
- 2.5/5
Location is good, close to Times Square. Rooms are cramped, old property. Only 2 elevators makes difficult to climb up or down the floors during mornings and evenings. Capacity is only 6 people making it worse. Breakfast space is small and peak breakfast times it is difficult.
- 4.5/5
The room is definietly a tight squeeze, and the elevators need some renevations.
- 3/5
Location close to the tunnel. Bed
- 1/5
Upon arriving to our room. The blanket was full of I believe cat fur. I am allergic to cats. I was constantly requesting for new blankets. I feel like the tub was dirty. I’ve seen two cockroaches in the bathroom. Was never told the valet would take up to half an hour to arrive upon leaving. Enha and the bellman were accommodating. The bellman is extremely kind. Location is convenient to time square.
- 5/5
Great stay. Very Convenient Location. Hotel is not 5 Star, but perfect for the Price and Location. No complaints.
- 4/5
Ok
- 4/5
Very good location- easy access to almost everything. Free daily breakfast (eggs, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, fruit, etc) comfortable beds, rooms are clean but tired. Complimentary water and chips everyday (until it runs out). Complimentary hot chocolate every evening when you return from sightseeing - nice touch after walking all day. Do bring ear plugs because you are in Midtown and there is just so much noise outside.
- 5/5
I didnt have breakfast.
- 4/5
Small room but to be expected in NYC. Bathroom shower could use some updating. Breakfast choices could use some variety and need to be filled appropriately. Wait times for elevators were long at times.
- 3/5
The rooms are small and with a strong cigarette smell to it. Even my clothes smelled like cigarettes. The staff were nice and helpful.
- 3/5
Nice and clean, breakfast was ok
- 3/5
Waiting too long for elevators, room keys always deactivated, staffs can be more helpful and friendly. Our room has no hand soap, no bath mat. Room facing street was pretty noisy. Good breakfast with options. There are free waters n chips at reception daily.

The room was clean, big enough and had amazing views of the city. The hotel was perfectly located, in walking distance of transportation and attractions. The breakfast in the morning was hot and delicious. Great hotel.
- 3/5
I would say the elevators just because a big group of ppl came in and I had to wait a long time to get up to my room bc my key wasn’t working.
- 5/5
Excelente!! Todo, supero mis expectativas!! Lo recomendaría 100%
- 5/5
I loved it! I was a bit worried due to some reviews but the place was cozy and very comfortable. They have a place for luggage before and after check in/check out. They give you snacks and water bottles and the breakfast was good. I would return again. The location was awesome, not only for Times Square but subway stations.

Yes
- 4/5
Breakfast is very well
- 3/5
Cons - I paid for a “standard room, 2 double beds, city view (high floor)”. I got a room that looked directly into the windows of the hotel that was behind this one. If I was staying longer than one night I would have asked for a different room. The beds (both of them) were concave on the side where the night table is while the opposite side was significantly higher (for a bed).
- 4/5
Needs updating but clean and staff were lovely and free coffee
- 4/5
Everything was great with exception of not working elevator for one day.
- 4/5
Despite the high occupancy, cleanliness was well maintained. The lobby and common areas were regularly maintained, despite the steady flow of guests. My room was clean upon arrival, with fresh linens and neatly arranged amenities. While some furnishings reflected the hotel’s age, everything was orderly and hygienic. The most impressive aspect of the stay was the courteous and hardworking staff. Given how busy the hotel was, the team handled the pressure with patience and professionalism. The front desk staff remained polite and efficient during check-in and check-out, even when lines formed. They answered questions clearly and did their best to accommodate requests. Throughout the hotel, staff members were friendly, respectful, and approachable, which created a welcoming atmosphere despite the crowds. While the building itself could benefit from some modernization, the attentive service and consistent cleanliness helped offset the limitations of an older property. Overall, the experience demonstrated that strong customer service and staff dedication can make a meaningful impact, even in a busy, aging hotel environment.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was nice, hotel was in a good location, had good breakfast options
- 5/5
Clean room, polite staff
- 5/5
La verdad lo que rescata a todo el Hotel es la ubicación, es una excelente ubicacion, la habitación está muy cómoda, es literal muy comercial, el desayuno es bueno solo que termina 9:30 am y el espacio es muy chico para sentarse
- 5/5
Great room, great spot and all the staff were very friendly
- 5/5
The rooms are quite small, but that is to be expected. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room temperature was easy to control and the water was piping hot for all the showers. Our bed was soft, and they provided extra pillows on request. The TVs are older, so not all the channels work and there are few to chose from. Overall, it was a great experience.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was courteous. Good location for seeing sights and subway access.
- 4/5
The heating system was horrible. It didn't has termostate and when was on it was noisy and hot when we shut dawn it was really cold. we asked several time front desk and they sent engineer and he said he can not to so anything because system is so old. We ask for another room and front desk said all room has the same system.
- 4/5
Yes very Good
- 5/5
Excellent service, I loved my stay. Thank you!
- 3/5
The property and facilities were all very clean and the midtown location was great. Overall, it got the job done and the issues didn’t deter from our trip.
- 4/5
The only thing was that the sink and bathtub were clogged... the water did not drain well.
- 5/5
Was great
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and conveniently located near everything. The staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The staff was amazing. I could text them and everything was very clear. Remember your in New York you are only there to sleep. Beds were great. I’m a Ihg member and I only stay at Holiday Inn express around the world. Overall great stay.
- 5/5
They have amazing staff.
- 5/5
friendly staff

But the room was extremely cold at night. Even if the heater was turned up all the way, idk but my sister and i were freezing (we stayed there in December).
- 5/5
Rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom door is hard to close, but that was a slight inconvenience that didn’t really bug me much.

- 5/5
The room was great
- 5/5
It was such an amazing stay
- 5/5
I’ll be back soon with all the family
- 2/5
The hotel was not wonderful. The lobby was quite dirty and looked very rundown. The only good thing about the breakfast was the eggs. To make matters worse, at the end they charged a lot of extra fees, making the stay very expensive.
- 3/5
Bed is not comfortable,I can feel the spring .
- 5/5
Had a great stay, had an issue with toilet upon arrival quickly addressed. Very friendly staff and housekeeping was excellent.
- 4/5
Location was good
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay here! We travel frequently and this was a perfect mid-range choice for NYC at Christmas. The room was immaculate, albeit small, but that’s all we needed as we were out and about all day. The staff (especially Michelle at the front desk) were polite, efficient and patient. Yes, the elevator service is slow, but that’s out of anyone’s control. I’d stay here again and recommend this property.
- 4/5
Staff was great, room was clean, just wish there were more elevators.
- 5/5
Great location. Plenty of food places near this hotel. It is your typical New York hotel, small and basic. But, perfect if you’re looking for inexpensive, clean and centrally located to time square, subways and such.
- 3/5
Good hotel for a couple or single .
- 5/5
Excellent service, the staff was very responsive. We have a problem with our room and they change us very quickly to other. The location is perfect, very close to all.
- 4/5
There are too few elevators.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Small area for breakfast. It couldnt accommodate a lot of people. I did like the daily cocoa and cookies. But the DAVIDS cookies were hard and not good. The fresh baked ones were really good. It was in good proximity to subways and time square.
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
Didn’t open the door we had to wait 2 hrs for it to be fixed .
- 5/5
Thank you
- 5/5
The staff is very helpful. The hotel is in a good location. The elevator was small and not accommodating . The staff made the hotel a great place to stay !
- 5/5
Staff and overall stay was excellent. The only thing is the elevator was a bit slow at times. We were on vacation so it wasn’t an issue for us. However if you are in a hurry it might be an inconvenience.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 3/5
The room was very hot and dry. Maintenance attempted a fix but it didn't correct issue with thermostat. Only one of two elevators worked in a building with over 30 stories. Front desk staff and luggage manager very helpful. Maid staff very good. Fresh towels provided each day. Did not eat free breakfast due to late mornings.
- 5/5
Perfect area. And everything is walking distance
- 2/5
The breakfast area was non-functional due to it being such a limited space. We were never even able to enjoy the breakfast. We booked a king size bed and received a queen. We didn’t realize the bed size until we were already unpacked and didn’t want to change rooms at that point. The room was extremely outdated and looks to be falling apart. There are very limited channels on the tv and one didn’t even have any sound. There is only one elevator. It is fast but with so many floors it frequently would stop and be full so wasted time. The elevator was small and not many could fit on it. The location is considered Times Square but did not feel centrally located to all the touristy spots we wanted to see. It was a far walk/car ride. I would not stay at this hotel again. I would pay more and stay closer to Times Square.
- 5/5
Loved this property! Would absolutely recommend to others traveling to NYC. Miguel, the front desk manager, was amazing amongst the chaos and super helpful!!
- 5/5
Everything about the hotel was amazing, breakfast, front desk, & staff.
- 3/5
The Check-in staff was not courteous. He wasn't friendly. The tub floor was stained brown. The elevator are extremely old and wait time for them is just too long. We had to take the stairs down from 30th floor. The beds were not comfortable. I could feel the box spring. It was not possible for a good nights rest. For the price we paid per night, the whole experience was a con job.
- 5/5
Extremely clean hotel. Great size of bedrooms. Very comfortable beds. Perfect locations. The breakfast staff was excellent. They were kind, attentive, and made sure everything was well stocked and organized. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay.
- 3/5
Lift service and room service
- 3/5
2 elevators for 36 floors. Room had carpet thrown over uneven flooring. Air conditioner sounded like there was metal stuck in the fan. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
The hotel was good for what we needed and great for the price. Rooms are small but clean. It was walkable to Times Square. They had hot chocolate and cookies out in the afternoon which was a nice special touch.
- 2/5
Good location. The rooms were very small, old ac/heater which would be either too hot or too cold, basic tv with no streaming options. Breakfast limited and crowded.2 elevators serving 36 floors meant long wait times, at times had to climb down 15 floors after waiting for 20-30 mins. Dim lighting in room. Definitely not worth the price.
- 3/5
- 5/5
I will admit that I didn’t go in with high expectations. But I left with complete amazement at the level of service, cleanliness of the hotel, and the staff that feels like you just walked across the street to ask for something from your neighbor. fantastic day great location, but the hotel and staff make it worth the money.
- 4/5
Very convenient to holiday activities and theaters, restaurants
- 5/5
Loved the hotel perfect location

- 4/5
Received texts from hotel making sure everything okay if I neeeded anything thought this is cool
- 3/5
Staff was very courteous the hotel could use a couple updates.
- 3/5
Room was a little worn, but clean. Bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs in the mattress. I can overlook a lot of things in a hotel but the mattress is the one thing that has the biggest impact on my stay and it failed. When I pay over $1000 for a 2 night stay the mattress should not have any issues.
- 2/5
Only one of the two elevators was working. It took 15 - 30 minutes to catch the working one. The hallway where the elevators are is very narrow and many guests with luggage would be waiting making it difficult to get down the hall to the breakfast are. The breakfast is small with tables on top of each other making it difficult to move around. Hiusekeeonly left decaf k-cups and when I asked the man at the front desk for regular coffee he said “if you want regular coffee the breakfast room opens at 6:30 am..” I do not recommend this hotel.recommend difficuwalk around. Housekeeping did not refilcups
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. Would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
We had a great stay! The front desk was so amazing and very helpful! The hotel is walking distance to time square.
- 2/5
Staff are not very welcoming and accomodating. Feels like they dont like what they are doing esp. The people on the front desk.
- 3/5
For some reason the stay this time wasn’t great -the room wasn’t decorated after giving instructions for more than 2 weeks ago -the elevator wait was for minutes -i had to take the stairs with my ageing parents which were 70 years and above, and his 70th birthday went for a toss while the manager tried to do but it wasn’t the great day ever. We also struggled with the room. The room was extremely small and it was so difficult to fit and for people the State that we had in Holiday Inn to the other side of the corner close to 5th Avenue was amazing, but this time I’m not sure what went wrong. It was a long queue long wait and a lot of things that we didn’t enjoy in the day. Additionally, there is a refund that I was supposed to get. It’s been more than two months, but I haven’t got it from the hotel, so I’m not sure what’s happening.
- 5/5
Was a very good place to stay , near everything.
- 5/5
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean rooms and towels etc, lobby was decorated nicely for Christmas, hot breakfast was good with friendly staff. Easy location to subway and Times Square, too!
- 1/5
The people who service the guests are nice hardworking people but they are up against tall odds. The building is dated, the rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are out of the 50’s. (My shower faucet was broken). Worst of all the elevators are mostly non functional and it is a safety issue. I was traveling with a disabled person. One morning the elevator never came. After 40 minutes I went to use my room phone and that was not working. My friend panicked and i helped him down 11 stories. I complained and demanded a credit iff a 500 plus nite. Management ignored me. I later wrote and emailed no response. Go elsewhere.

Everything good
- 5/5
I had an uograded room! Very Clean! Love location!
- 2/5
Do not recommend this hotel, rooms are small, beds in disrepair (not comfortable at all), decor is old & not in good shape. Elevators are constantly in high demand!
- 5/5
Loved location but only 2 elevators so there was a wait each time to get to destination
- 2/5
Was not worth the money it cost! Was a closet with 2 beds!!! No microwave or fridge! Beds were literally against the wall on both sides!
- 4/5
Hotel rooms are small, but clean. Decent location. Staff was very pleasant. Not much to the hotel, but did the job.
- 2/5
For the amount of money I paid the room didn’t bring a fridge nor a microwave
- 4/5
The hotel was close to subway and Times Square! The hotel was dated but functional. The rooms were small but comfortable. The bathtub was not conducive to having a bath but the shower was good. The water was amazing and we appreciated the soaps and body wash. I wish there was a fridge in the room and/or restaurant. The breakfast was good and although there were a lot of people we never had difficulty getting a place to sit. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating; the room cleaner was wonderful. Thanks for a great vacation!!!
- 3/5
Hotel is ok. Bed was like a hammock. Elevator can take up to 30 minutes one way. We had to walk down the 24 floors one time as there was no hope of getting an elevator. Breakfast was good.
- 4/5
Close to Time Squ
- 5/5
Staff was helpful.
- 4/5
The staff are extremely helpful, and the breakfast was nice as well. It is in an excellent location where everything, such as food, Madame Tussauds, etc, is within walking distance, and you can access the trains within a 7 to 10 minute walk. I was on the higher floor, so it was surprisingly silent. The only issue I had was that the bed was a 5 out of 10.
- 4/5
Great location and amenities. Only downside was the elevator. Long waits. Often misfunctioning.
- 4/5
room was clean, location was not far from subway.
- 5/5
staff , location and amenities
- 5/5
The staff was excellent very friendly..!!!
- 4/5
Excellent stay at the Holiday Inn Times Square. Outstanding service, very attentive staff, and an excellent breakfast that exceeded expectations. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The only area for improvement would be the comfort of the beds, which felt slightly sunken in the middle. Overall, a very positive experience and I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Tienen que cambiar los matres de las camas. Mejorar el mantenimiento de los elevadores. Durante mi estadia ninguno funcionaba de forma optima, lo que provoco una experiencia caotica.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms, breakfast included and the details like having bottles of water, coffe, tea or cookies for guests are a plus.
- 5/5
It was awesome for the price
- 4/5
Can’t beat location:price ratio. We were 4 adults so the rooms were a bit small with all of our luggage but fine. Bathroom is outdated but no issues. Lots of poor reviews I read were because of an elevator out of service. Both were operational for our stay and we never had to wait to long (we were on the 24th floor). Would stay again.
- 4/5
Good hotel a little off beaten track in midtown.
- 1/5
36 floors, one elevator. Spend the extra money for a better hotel elsewhere people.
- 5/5
I had a great stay!! The front desk were very welcoming. My room was clean and bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again; not too far away from Times Square.
- 3/5
Not what I expected. It’s ok if you’re not going to be in the room much. Bed was very uncomfortable and bathroom was very small.
- 5/5
Nice hotel,nice employees
- 5/5
The staff were absolutely amazing the whole time, consistently checking in to make sure our stay was going well, and was very prompt with their responses. The room was clean and the view from the upper floors was great. There were a few times at breakfast where they ran out of items such as juice or ketchup but overall it was an amazing stay!
- 5/5
Clean room! Free breakfast! 10m walk from times square making it easy for tourists! will def book again
- 3/5
Room was small and dated windows was stinking couldn't see out. Breakfast was a disaster looked rotten and they can only seat about 20 people with a hotel with 36 floors. Lifts to busy at peak times. Very close to times square
- 5/5

Everyone was so nice and the room was amazing!
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Excelente todo. El desayuno la recepción la localidad. El tener la cortesía de tenerte agua. La verdad que lo recomiendo
- 1/5
The whole experience was horrible from checking in this hotel They took 813 dollars from my card then say it didn’t go through because the system had time out but it went through on my end so it was left with a pending transaction of 813 dollars….. So I ended up having to pay 813 dollars again because I was waiting for the 813 to be refunded back to my card …So my husband pay the 250 dollars accidentally fee with his credit card and they still end of charging me 500 dollars for accidentally fee which was 250 so how 75 dollars a day for four days added to be 500 dollars just a complete scam…The elevator wasn’t working we had to wait 30 mins for them to come get us from our room floor so please don’t book this hotel I never had this experience before so I was completely shock at the whole experience
- 3/5
They have now added a traveler’s fee (think resort fee) at a little less than $20 a day. You get nothing extra, just have to pay more for an already expensive room. Homeless people were outside every morning asking for money. The room was nice and comfy and the staff were great.
- 5/5
Clean, great location.
- 5/5
The general manager was awesome. The location was great. Breakfast was good every morning and I love the free waters. Housekeeping was rude and not helpful but the general manager took care of us. We would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Yes the room was clean. The staff was nice. The bathroom water pressure was bad and it was only one elevator in operation when we arrived.Several people waiting to get to their rooms. It however was fixed the next day.
- 4/5
the hotel was decent and comfortable. the stafff was fine. Breakfast was ok. 1 out of 2 elevators was broken the 4 days we were there. we were on the 13th floor.Yet overall it was a nice place to stay.
- 3/5
the elevator was broken when we got there the wait time on just getting picked nup was about 15min , the front desk staff wasnt very friendly, i checked out and the front desk peron wasn in the hall way talking for over 5n min while i was at the desk waiting until i asked can you check me out the guy was rude i will not return
- 1/5
We requested extra towels for our group and had to call four separate times before finally receiving them. We were also told there was no parking option other than the $85/day valet. When checking out, it took the valet team an hour to bring our car, despite claiming it was only five minutes away, and they initially brought us the wrong vehicle. Most of the luggage carts were broken, making them frustrating to use, and the elevators were old and painfully slow. I genuinely cannot understand how this hotel maintains a 7.5/10 rating. I do not recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
Staff and service was excellent. Amenities and rooms needs to improve. One of the elevators didn’t work completely and I had to use stairways. For functional diversity people this could be a problem.
- 2/5
The elevator was a NIGHTMARE! Hot water was apparently optional as it took forever the work if it ever did. The entire property needs to be remodeled. The staff did the best they could. They were friendly and accommodating. The property needs to seriously be remodeled.
- 5/5
Everything was great. General manager went above and beyond. Housekeeping was rude, tied up the elevators, did not respond. General manager made up for it. Other than that the hotel was perfect and conveniently located.
- 5/5
Employees worked hard to keep customers happy,
- 5/5
Great location! Highly recommend
- 5/5
Staff were really nice and friendly specially the manager Touria . The only issue was the elevator was too slow as only one was working.
- 3/5
Almost every time i tried getting back in the room, my key card had deactivated and had to be reactivated in the lobby. Everything else was fine.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly. Enah was great! She was so accommodating and sweet. Elevator situation!!! Glad I read the previous comments about the elevator situation and requested a room on lower floor. I was able to walk to 3rd floor. Thanks for everything.
- 2/5
Only one elevator was working - terribly long waits. The room furnishings were very worn - wallpaper peeling, countertops all scratched up, lampshades squished, the door would only open if you lifted the handle up. Basically everything in the room needs replaced.
- 2/5
Despite this, the engineering team that controlled the only working elevator was friendly and helpful and the room cleaning was acceptable.
- 3/5
One lift was out of action first week and manually operated during week 2, very frustrating would not stay here again. We now know the lift issue has been ongoing for a long long time. The staff were amazing dealing with frustrated people over and over
- 2/5
Beds were really hard. Elevators weren’t working so we were constantly walking 11 flights of stairs. Glad we weren’t higher up in the building. Food is decent! Typical hotel breakfast food. WiFi was cutting in and out often, and our room keys stopped working 3 or 4 times. Lots of angry people about the elevators though, so I felt bad for the staff. Location was excellent! Right next to time square.
- 2/5
Lift didn’t work the whole 3 days. It was nightmare
- 5/5
Yes, the room was spotless, cleaned, service was great & friendly courteous staff
- 5/5
Everything was very nice and everyone was very polite and helpful
- 1/5
Our stay at this hotel has been quite unpleasant and inconvenient due to ongoing elevator issues. We understand that maintenance problems can occur unexpectedly; however, since we are traveling with several guests over the age of 50, it has been extremely difficult for us to go up and down the floors without a functioning elevator.
- 2/5
Todo muy pobre...elevador roto el fin de semana entero..solo funcionaba uno....deberian arreglar un poco mas el hotel...
- 4/5
Room was fine and the staff was friendly, professional and great. Pillows weren't great (need new ones and firm ones). Need an employee elevator for washing laundry and need to update the current elevator. The breakfast was great, and hotel location was good.
- 2/5
El acensor solo funcionaba uno y se tardaba un montón, en varias ocasiones tuvimos que subir y bajar las escaleras a un piso 23 , fue horrible
- 2/5
Tub broken .. bad mattresss , bathroom won’t work and we complained no one ever came To check the whole time Goin up and down the elevator took 15/20 mins wait . We had to climb the stairs many times from the 7th floor . It was a huge hassle . Not very well maintained hotel at all . Giving 2 stars only for its location
- 4/5
Fresh Breakfast, Exceptionally Friendly and Professional Staff. Very Clean and comfortable room
- 2/5
Poor room conditions. No towels provided for second day by room service on their cleaning round. 1/2 Lifts out of order. Only one working and that was crowded and have been out of order for a few hrs.
- 2/5
One elevator was broke and the other one was not working properly. Took the stairs 4 times. Need wall paintings on the stairways.
- 1/5
In a 40+ story hotel, only one elevator worked for the 3 days I was staying there. It consistently took 20 minutes to get down from my floor. Completely unacceptable.
- 1/5
The elevators didn’t work. They checked us out a day early. They gave us the wrong keys. Their attitude about the whole thing was unacceptable. I will never stay here again and possibly never an IHG property.
- 1/5
From the moment we arrived, the experience went downhill. The front desk clerk was missing for several minutes and came back smelling strongly of marijuana. Check-in was unprofessional, and he blasted loud music while “finishing” our reservation. We were told valet allowed one vehicle access per day, yet on the third day they refused to bring the car at all. When they finally did, they assumed we were checking out and deactivated our room keys, forcing us to ride the single working elevator back to the 32nd floor only to find we were locked out again. At times, none of the elevators worked, and hauling luggage that far was ridiculous. The room was clean but tiny for the price. Housekeeping repeatedly tried to enter despite the “do not disturb” sign, once opening the door while we were in the shower. The in-room safe was unsecured and swung open hard enough to split my scalp. During checkout, valet took nearly two hours, handed me the wrong keys, and later returned my actual vehicle with fresh scratches on the side. Breakfast was overcrowded, seating was scarce, and roaches were visible near the dining area. Management took my number but has not contacted me about the damage or any reimbursement. Do not stay here. Spend your money elsewhere. New York is fine. This Holiday Inn Express is not.
- 1/5
The elevators were not working and it was very uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was proficient.
- 2/5
Elevator was a constant source of aggravation. Only 2 elevators for staff and guests. Waited 15-20 mins for elevator on 23rd floor. One of employees operating the elevator heard me express my aggravation for being charged a no show fee from Uber because he couldn’t wait any longer. The employee said under his breath “why didn’t you just take the stairs. Also almost missed a Broadway show on a different time. Only stayed for two days. Won’t be staying here again. Breakfast was great though and the attendants were friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Hotel is in a good location, pretty clean.
- 1/5
The room was out dated and smelled of mold/mildew. The elevator was broken and the buttons werent signaling to my floor (floor 25). I paid for an upgraded city view room and feel like I was scammed into taking a higher floor and paying more for an inconvenience. I had to walk up 25 flights of stairs after breakfast which wasnt ideal. The location of the hotel was about the only perk to this experience.
- 3/5
Not as advertised on web. No dining in hotel, no fitness room. Bed was horrible. Staff were good but definitely not as advertised and not on times square. Not worth the cost charged.
- 2/5
The room was very dirty. We also were not given any water in the room. There were very odd stains on the walls in the bathroom we didn’t even feel comfortable using the shower.
- 4/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
Really good location, rooms where clean and well maintained, staff was really friendly and helpful
- 4/5
One of the staff members did stand out from our first impression because he didn't seem like he wanted to help us at all, we would ask questions and he would respond as if it was a stupid question to ask, he would see us waiting for our turn to ask about our bags and would act like he didn't know what we were talking about even though he was the one that told us we can leave our bags in the lobby... We didn't interact with him more after the first day because it did put us off, but the rest of the staff was very kind. We asked the hotel on our second day to make sure we had room service to change towels and fix the sheets but I did notice that some trash was still left in the room when we came back. Just a small detail that stood out, but overall it was a good hotel for a quick trip.
- 4/5
Hotel is located great to walk to Times Square and a lot of shows. It's also close to the 42 port authority terminal.
- 2/5
No hot water and slow elevators.
- 2/5
AC cool, very bad maintenance, hot water not running until late morning, very uncomfortable mattress
- 3/5
Breakfast was disappointing — the food was just okay, and the breakfast room was far too small for the size of the hotel and the number of guests in the morning. The breakfast staff, however, was again extremely friendly. Overall, mixed feelings. For the price we paid, I would have been very disappointed anywhere else, but I guess this kind of poor value for high prices is fairly typical in NYC.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Free chips and bottles of water is nice. Really long elevator waits though.
- 1/5
The room was pretty clean, but I had a lot of problems with the bathroom one room my toilet kept getting overflown so they changed me and my fiancé rooms. Then the other room did not have running hot water. It was an inconvenience to our stay as far as getting ready, so we backtracked about an hour getting those things settled as far as location. It’s in a pretty good area not too long of a walk to Times Square.
- 4/5
The breakfast is good
- 3/5
The elevator situation was a disaster. We were on the 24th floor and there were only two elevators. For breakfast and checkout, it was impossible to get down to the lobby. The elevators were always full when the doors opened. We ended up walking 24 floors down. Also, the rooms were very small.
- 3/5
Had stayed at the HI on 8th Avenue last time and do not know how I got booked into this one on w39th street but it was not as good and was more out of the way. The staff were very friendly here, but I liked the other hotel much better!
- 2/5
We had a roach in our room other than that everything was ok
- 2/5
Location is nice, walking distance from Times Square. I booked the standard room and was informed upon check in we had a twin room. When I asked if we could get a queen/king room, the lady at reception explained we were given whichever room was left, as I had booked the standard room. Poor, but if that’s the case….. she suggested I would check the next morning after breakfast to see if we could move rooms. The beds were horrible, you could feel the springs and it had clearly been used lots as there were dents in the mattress. Checked after breakfast following day, was told too early, all during the day. I did, then told to check when coming back. I did, but nothing available. Then the lift situation; only 2 for the entire 36 floor hotel. And only 6 people allowed at one time. You guessed it, lots of waiting and braving stairs. The hotel is very dated. Showers were nice and room was clean. Would not stay again though
- 1/5
Not clean
- 4/5
room temperature was hard to control
- 4/5
Restroom is old. Suggest to renovate.
- 5/5
Very clean room, perefect location. Great staff
- 2/5
For 600$ a night you would think parking was included, but it was an extra hundred dollars for parking for one night. Rooms were very small.
- 4/5
We had a great stay. The elevator is not working well so we had to take stairs a few times from the 13th floor! The hotel staff was helpful and kind! The beds were comfortable and everything worked great!
- 5/5
Central to pretty much everything.
- 4/5
The rooms are very small and no fridge or microwave. Can ask at desk for fridge. Breakfast pretty good. Beds comfortable. No laundry. Very basic
- 3/5
Rooms were clean
- 1/5
I initially booked for four nights due to the information on Expedia that gave the distance to time square as 6mins which in reality is more like double that time. the distance was too far for walking for my wife who has degenerative osteoarthritis. i also noted a huge difference in the advertised few given on Expedia which showcase total amount inclusive of taxes and fees. However there were major differences in night rates from $230/night to over $400 for the second night. even with a lower third night, the total fee was still more than advertised in reality. I did not make a fuss about the money but when I realized the distance, I realized that we were misinformed. I immediately spoke kindly to the front desk personel about cancellation of the other nights with refund. I believe her name was Samantha who assured me, the refund is no problem once Expedia gives the go ahead and that I should contact Expedia. I immediately messaged Expedia via agent Shirley who gave me the opposite response that they are willing once the Hotel waives the cancellation fee and that the manager will have to give that confirmation in the morning. I was assured that everything will be sorted and that I am in good hands. Of course check out was 11 that day so I had to book another hotel for the rest of my trip to cater for my wife's medical condition.I placed trust that Expedia will have everything sorted. I was then told via email Expedia that the refund is impossible. I am still receive follow-up
- 1/5
Los colchones no le sirven, el aire acondicionado tenia una tapa rota y generaba ruido incómodo
- 3/5
Breakfast didn’t look great
- 5/5
The staff at the hotel were so kind and friendly. The room was very clean and decent sized~ perfect for what we truly needed, which was a good night rest after days of walking. The beds were firm and the pillows were wonderful! The hotel lobby was so warm and inviting and all decorated for Halloween! The best part was the breakfast! The variety of foods was fantastic! Never did we have to worry about where to eat in the morning! It made the start of every day so easy knowing a full meal was waiting for us! Thank you Holiday Inn Express Times Square for helping to make our trip to New York so great!
- 3/5
Lift was painfully slow and the coffee urns were often cold.
- 5/5
Very Comfy Beds. Located right near the Port Authority. Busy but safe.
- 5/5
Area perfecta si vas a visitar ny, excelente desayuno y check in fácil.
- 1/5
Hotel is very old and outdated beds were horrible bad plumbing problems if you want to be comfortable don’t stay there not worth the money that was charged rooms are very tiny
- 5/5
Good
- 2/5
The website said there was a restaurant on site, but there was not. That was a factor in my choice and it was inaccurate.
- 2/5
The people at this hotel were all very kind and attentive. The room was clean, but very tired and far too small. Plus our room was left unsecured by our housekeeper while we were out for 9 hours. Finally the housekeeper failed to rehang a shower curtain. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Hotel is old but clean and service is excellent
- 2/5
Our room was not clean and had a musty smell. Breakfast had limited food choices and mininimal seating.
- 2/5
This hotel is in serious need of a total renovation. The carpets in the rooms are worn and stained. The furniture is old and chipped. The mattresses are old and squeaky. The A/C system is old rattles. The elevators are slow and inefficient. No gym — gave to go next door to the sister hotel which has broker elevators. Definitely the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in NYC. Huge black eye for IHG, the owners of the hotel.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a very good location.
- 3/5
The front desk staff is nice, but the beds need to be replaced, and the room smells strongly humid. I wouldn’t stay again.
- 4/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Staff was very nice, overall the hotel is showing its age and needs updating. Breakfast area very small and crowded, as was the lobby most times.
- 3/5
Staff was good but hotel was outdated and room has weird smell to it.
- 5/5
Excelent staff
- 5/5
Great stay. We stayed on the top floor with a city view. Air conditioning kept the room cool when we wanted it to. Water in the shower was always hot. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Breakfast was as expected. All in all, the price was what I would expect for a comfortable and safe stay near times square and close to metro stations.
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Elevators did not work
- 5/5
- 3/5
For the good things about the hotel there are two. First, the location is four blocks from Times Square and right next to Square Pizza and Pio Bagel. I recommend both. Second, the front desk staff was very responsive and courteous. I appreciated their candor. Overall, I would probably not stay here again. There are much better hotels in the area that are similar in price and location. Plus, the managerial staff was not very cooperative and very combative. My friend and I just wanted to stay at a reputable hotel but ended up having our hotel stay turn into a rather forgetable experience.
- 4/5
Very good breakfast
- 5/5
We walked every where from the hotel. Very accesible to our travel.
- 1/5
There was no water in the middle of the day 11am to 4pm. Ask for a refund and I was threatened by both the service agent and her manager.
- 1/5
Very poor quality
- 4/5
The breakfast was a nice way to start the day, one less thing to worry about. Walkability and Subway access (literally 1.5 blocks, less than 2 minutes away) were great. Would defiantly stay here again if the opportunity arose.
- 5/5
Improved rooms
- 2/5
They should update the photos to reflect the real condition of the rooms, as it can be misleading.
- 2/5
The hotel was a major disappointment. During my stay, only one elevator was operational, which caused significant delays. At times, it took up to 20 minutes just to get from my apartment to the lobby. I even had to call the front desk twice to redirect the elevator to my floor to ensure I could make it to Broadway shows on time. This level of inconvenience is unacceptable.
- 2/5
Breakfast facility is very poor. It is basically an add on or lean too off the lobby. Unable to accommodate all guests. Elevator service is terrible. 38 stories and 2 slow elevators. Took us 24 minutes to get to the lobby from the 8th floor
- 4/5
- 1/5
Very dirty with bad smell in the lobby and room, only one lift for 36 floor (long waiting), narrow circulation space at corridor, no payment return once payed. So don't even think about to stay at this place
- 5/5
Clean property and friendly staff. I also felt like the price was reasonable. I would stay here again.
- 1/5
The room was small and drab. The elevator was broken. People were waiting and waiting. Staff was completely unhelpful. I immediately canceled my stay and they refused to give me a complete refund. Terrible. Avoid.
- 4/5
- 1/5
The bathroom room wedged shut so firmly that my wife was unable to open it from either inside or outside the bathroom. The room entry door also wouldn’t close properly. The risk to our lives in case of a fire would have been catastrophic. Only 1 person on the desk at check in and out. I’ve never been in a more poorly managed hotel.
- 3/5
Location is the best part, walkable to Times square and subways. Rooms are very small though.
- 2/5
The elevators were not working, which was very inconvenient.
- 4/5
yes . Breakfast a little boring . Too few elevators for such a large facility . Reception personnel very nice .
- 1/5
HORRIBLE STAY. Firstly we were able to check in early which was nice. Our outlets did not work, we made a complaint and they said they fixed it which they did not and never followed up after I made a second complaint. Secondly, elevators were broken 3 days. They only have two elevators one was down the entire stay. The second one was down the second day and they had their staff manually doing the elevator which was not efficient at all and being on the 34rd floor with a busted knee was not ideal to have to walk down those stairs THREE TIMES due to the wait. We called for the elevator a few times but even still the wait to get on and off was about 15-20 minutes each time. We MISSED an attraction appointment and not able to be refunded due to the elevator issues. Our cards stop working EVERYDAY and we had to ask several times to get a new key. And we were not keeping it by our phones they were seperate. our carpet REEKED. MOST IMPORTANTLY, we came back after being gone for SIX hours. When we left house keeping was knocking at our door to clean. When we came back after being gone for six hours our door was OPEN. WIDE OPEN I made complaints to manager who was concerned about all my complaints but did not offer any solution what so ever. We paid $2100 for three nights. HORRIBLE STAY.
- 1/5
The elevator service was terrible long waits sometimes overcrowded because the elevators are very small room had a bad smell to it and the price was ridiculous
- 4/5
It was overall a good experience.
- 5/5
Excellent check-in here. I appreciate the exceptionally courteous, thoughtful, and friendly front-desk staff, who graciously greeted many guests at crush hour of around 6pm! I'm impressed with that level of professionalism and kindness. I will recommend this location to colleagues.
- 4/5
Nice location to roam around
- 2/5
We were on the 19th floor.
- 5/5
The service at the front desk was excellent especially with giving us directions for the subway. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection. The front desk also gave free water bottles, chips, and cookies for everyone. The area was safe and near broadway. The rooms were clean and the showerhead was strong and gave one a nice back massage. The only drawback was that people kept ignoring the six person capacity sign and loaded it at breakfast time and it broke down twice and we had to take the stairs down 12 flights each time.
- 2/5
In addition, the bathroom faucet had ongoing problems. The air conditioning in one of our rooms was not functioning, and after requesting it to be fixed, the heating stayed on throughout the night, making the situation worse. We are wondering if there is any compensation we can get , will appreciate that
- 5/5
Staff were friendly, attentive, and highly visible. There was always someone around to answer questions or assist, especially the guy who had the thankless job of keeping the old elevators running (too many people would try and crowd in and then it would get stuck). Free water and small snacks near concierge were a nice touch too.
- 2/5
My husband was stuck between floors in the elevator. Maintenance got him out with a crow bar. Constant issues with the elevator the entire weekend we were there. We requested a room on a lower floor so we could take the stairs. The staff gave us a different room, but it was a downgrade with no financial compensation. In the second room we stayed in, EACH time the air conditioning started it clicked 30 times. EACH time! No sleep that night. We typically love Holiday Inn Express, but this property was surprisingly disappointing.
- 5/5
Wry convenient location
- 4/5
Rooms are ok. Elevators are vig issue. Only ine or 2 elevatora working most of the stay making it harder
- 3/5
Long wait for the working elevator 15 minutes Walked down the stairs from 11 floor on 4 days
- 4/5
Upon settling into the room I noticed a red stain on the rugg. I reported this to front desk so that they wouldn't make me responsible for the stain.

Property was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is great as it is a short walk to MSG and other local venues but can get a little seedy after dark. My only complaint would be the slow elevator service. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was very bad in many different ways. First of all the elevator didn’t work. Then when arriving to the room, the doors didn’t lock and there were holes in the door and in the walls. The place was very dirty and the staff was not friendly at all. The photos of the rooms are not at all accurate. We had to leave the property and we have had a terrible experience with the hotel and Expedia. Would never book again.

The elevator was out and people were waiting for 30 minutes. Seems unsafe. Also several things like wall paper, trim, were very poor condition. Only one bathroom for everyone eating breakfast and it was out of order.

Breakfast is good. Elevator is terrible. Room was on 36th floor and could take ten minutes to get down if working. Room didn’t have shower curtain and tv not working. Called staff and after 4 hours got shower curtain but no tv. Can you get me some portion of refund for services not provided? Payed a cpnsiderable price for room.

Old and needed maintenance, but clean and safe.

The location of this property to Broadway is PERFECT! We easily walked to both theaters. (Just In Time and Hell’s Kitchen are two spectacular shows that we highly recommend.) Every single staff member—from the front desk workers to the housekeepers to the breakfast workers to the elevator operators—were professional and friendly. The one issue that was a challenge is that only one elevator was in operation during our stay. That certainly wasn’t the fault of the staff, and

Another wouldn't come for half an hour, first message the hotel person to bring the lift to the floor that you want on. Had to step down 12 floors with kids sometimes. As soon as checkout was done, they messaged that lift was operational back again.

Elevator broke most of my stay, breakfast not great and hotel is very outdated
