EVEN Hotel New York - Times Square South by IHG

The only criticism I have is the site lists one of the main amenities as sound proof rooms and all I could hear literally all night were rude neighbors blaring music till after 4 am! That’s not soundproof and super annoying

They have 2 peloton bikes which is nice.

I continue to prioritize staying here when I come to NY. Now, I do look for the times when the nightly rate is more in my budget (it can be pricey!) The easy walk from Penn Station, the yoga mat in the room, the windows that you can crack open -all my favorite things!

I definitely enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was also perfect, walking distance to Time Square. There was also a parking garage directly across the street from the hotel. If I ever stay in Manhattan, I would stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel perfectly located right in the middle of the city. The staff was excellent and incredibly helpful — they truly made our stay memorable. Highly recommend!

Stayed in many NYC hotels and this is definitely one of the best. Great location and family room with two double beds. Bathroom was a good size (for NYC) and mattresses were excellent. Only downside was the annoying sheets rather - would prefer a full duvet cover but that may just be a UK thing. Kids enjoyed the ping pong table. Highly recommend!

Rooms were clean and well maintained. They were spacious and the amenities were quite sufficient and useful. The best part of the hotel is the location. Great accessibility to all of Manhattan, and the feeling of living in midtown manhattan. Staff was helpful, checkin and check out process was seamless, hotel access and everything was quite smooth!

All the treadmill wasn’t working I went to the gym. Plus no response to a hotel.com question about staying an extra night. I amglad I didn’t stay get an extra night. I would not stay there again.

Place was very nice in a great location.

The rug looked a bit worn, and the bed and pillows weren’t the most comfortable, but the AC in the room worked well. The elevator also got pretty warm at times. The best part was definitely the location, super convenient and right near Times Square and the Empire State Building. Just keep in mind parking is separate and located in a garage across the hotel. Overall, a decent stay for the location and convenience.

One of the best stays I even been. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very nice as well and rooms were clean and roomy. The one thing personally for me it’s inconvenient bathroom doors, cause they just slide and don’t shut, but it’s not the huge problem. The overall experience was great, I would definitely stay there again!

Our room was very clean, the king size bed was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for seeing a concert at Madison square garden. We will most likely stay here again the next time we are in town for a concert.

We stayed for one night, without breakfast. The room on the 5th floor facing the street was quiet, though on the small side. The bathroom was basic—everything looked just like in the photos. The beds are small; they’re not standard queen-size beds. smal bed

As far as hotels that are squeezed into buildings or city blocks, this one is better than most in terms of room size and amenities and value. This was my first time, and I'll definitely seek it out when I'm in the city again. Clean, friendly and helpful staff, and a surprisingly spacious room (and mood lighting....bonus!). Well done!

Great, clean hotel. The staff was wonderful. Bed was super comfortable and the room was very spacious. They have a great, but somewhat limited/overpriced 24/7 grab and go which was SUPER helpful for grabbing something before a 5:30a flight.

The hotel is very conveniently located. The staff is very nice and the room size is good by NYC standards. The hotel was also quiet with no wait time for the elevators. I have stayed here a few times, though not in a few years, and I did notice that it was beginning to show signs of wear.

The property location that was right next to the subway with plenty of walkable food and shopping options. The bar was less than average, with them being out of so many things that they couldn’t even make a margarita. They gave one coupon for one complimentary drink per room. I would have thought that they would give at least one per guest. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

This hotel is not for me. I guess for the price, we should have expected basic and simple but other reviews made us more hopeful. Check in was confusing. They gave us a welcome card for a free drink. We don’t drink alcohol so went for a coffee and were told no, only alcohol so if you don’t drink, you go without! Rooms were basic, sliding toilet door so no privacy at all. On that note, DO NOT get a room with an adjoining door, you can hear EVERYTHING, and we heard everything on three occasions on one night for us! We did complain and got moved rooms and was told this would be brought up with management but never heard back from them. Not a relaxing stay but again, for the price it was to perhaps be expected. We certainly won’t stay there again!

Water bottles in the room would be great. There is a water station in the lobby with plastic glasses, but we had to go down repeatedly for water for drinking and coffee. A bit irritating. Walls are pretty thin and we were woken up several times by people and doors slamming.

The freshly squeezed orange juice was the highlight of my breakfast, I had two glasses of it. I ordered the bacon, egg, cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich and coffee, they weren’t great. They don’t use real eggs. Order something else or walk around the corner and find a cafe or deli. The snack bar was limited, peanut m&ms, m&ms, KitKat, Reese’s butter cups, Pringle’s, few other options of chips, and sodas. Coffee is also option in the snack bar, but it’s hotel coffee, they had no creamer options when I checked to mask the taste. Location is in a great spot if you’re planning to see an event at the Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center. This hotel faces the back of that building. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the entrance. Within 5-10 minutes you can walk to a great pizzeria called Vito’s, few Asian restaurants, Cafe, and across the street from the Manhattan Center there’s a Jimmy John’s, Dunkin, Five Guys, and Chipotle. There’s also an AMC movie theater if you’re up for a movie. There are tons of gift shops in every direction. It took me about 15-20 minutes to walk from the hotel to Macy’s on 34th Street and about the same time to stop at a nearby Target. Great hotel!

When you're checking in, no one assists in opening the door for you, it's a pull door, and it's quite hard to pull when both hands are carrying luggages. No bellman service, for this price wasn't expected. The room was not properly cleaned. The carpet was dirty and stained with lots of gray hair and dust lined around the bed. The room was musty obviously because of the dirty carpet. The restaurant doesn't have a direct phone line to call ahead for meals, so you have to call the front desk to be connected. The front desk doesn't pick up the phone when you call, even back to back. The main website advertises room service, but it's not offered here. To be charging a resort fee without true amenities is crazy. Safe to say, I'll never return.

The staff are very friendly, and the location is excellent, with both the subway and train station nearby. Except for the noise from the neighboring room due to the connecting door, everything was really great. If you are sensitive to noise, you may want to be careful when choosing a room.

The room was clean. The walk to Times Square was not bad at all. I would definitely stay again, but would probably upgrade to a suite or better room that has a better view. Some of the hardware was scratched up, but other than that the room was solid. The lights were a little weird because some weren't turning on and it would turn off randomly.

Only one thing stood out as a negative for us in that there was very little storage for clothing due to lay out of the rooms. This wasn’t a big deal and we just rotated between the hangers and our suitcases. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great location for exploring the city.

The hotel is good-looking and pleasant. It has many cute touches (e.g. all the room numbers are even!). The block is really seedy and the area is very busy but we keep going there because of the convenience of the close proximity to Penn Station. The hotel has all the amenities one would need but don't expect anything more. There's only a primitive closet in the room and no bathrobes or real glasses in the bathroom. We had a room overlooking the street and, surprisingly, the noise was minimal.

We had a great stay! Close to Madison Square Garden. Probably 15 min walk to Time Square. You see everything on the way there. City is busy…we went for a Kentucky basketball game. Go CATS! Will definitely go back if I’m in town ever again.

This property is in a centralized location with so many things within 1 mile walking distance: Madison Square Garden, Penn Station Times Square, Hudson yards… So many restaurants and bakeries and coffee shops as well! The property itself is well maintained and small enough so that you can come back to the hotel after a busy day and feel relaxed. My only complaints would be that maybe the carpets in the room could’ve been cleaner, and it would be nice to be able to have queen size beds, instead of full-size beds.

Breakfast was very good and we can recommend with confidence

The room has very little space inside with 3 small draws and 5 coat hangers. There is a wall with stretching ropes and an exercise mate that is a total waste of space. What it needs is a place to unpack a case for 5 days and then stow the case away under the bed. It also has 2 large stools that take up a large amount of space and serve no purpose at all (we asked if they could be removed but was told no). To top it off, the aircon doesn’t work very well and when you open the window to cool the place down, all you can hear is the cars honking their horns Wouldn’t stay again

The room isnt sound proof as advertised. You could hear the elevator dinging, people walking in the hallway and thwir conversations. Could also hear some noise from the next room The workout bar in the room wasn't aligned properly and led into the wall. Pretty annoying There's a mini fridge in the room, but no microwave, so there was no point in having leftovers

We really enjoyed staying at the Even hotel in Midtown East on a previous trip, but it had no openings, so we tried the Times Square South location instead. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't noisy, only about 2 blocks from Penn Station! The street is a bit rundown and not much to look at, but that meant it was quiet, which was our main objective. We were also at the back of the building which was a huge help. It was super convenient to the train station, and everything you could possibly want to see in NYC. Subway stop down the street and numerous other subway stops nearby. Buses, Port Authority, all within blocks. The staff is so friendly at these hotels, and make a point to engage customers in conversation. We got housekeeping services for a 2 night stay which was great. They give you a free drink ticket from the bar at check in. The bar at this location was a little less fun/more quiet than at at the Midtown East one (that one has an outdoor seating area and is a bit more lively.) However, they had a game room with sofas that people were enjoying. We would definitely stay at the Times Square South or Midtown East locations when we come again!

My stay was in Times Square so it’s very convenient location. I was not crazy about the $30 resort fee seeing as there was no parking pool or anything so can’t understand that. I went down to the lobby to get coffee and there is a three dollar and 50 Cent charge, one would’ve thought my $30 resort fee would’ve bought me a cup of coffee. There are so many options in New York City to stay at so this was one. I probably wouldn’t stay out again plus it was super loud.

Location is great. Good value for money I could hear absolutely everything going on in the room next door....no details needed. Also, the mattress showed worn out at some degree. Not good for my back. The bar had a limited wine selection, and they had run out of some spirits, as I could hear from other customers

The hotel is very good, however the restaurant inside the hotel was not very good.there are just a few options and most of them were out of stock! In the day I arrived the street was closed but the front desk didn’t support so much on the problem. Beside that, the hotel is clean and good amenities in the room (soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee machine). Surrounding is a normal NYC, dirty and noise. The only problem there was a construction on the street that people were peeing making it disgusting to pass through.

The hotel was clean, rooms in great condition, the hotel was quiet for sleeping and the breakfast was really high quality ( we liked the steak and egg bowl and breakfast sandwich’s with fruit) I’d definitely stay here again.

This property was ok. I was expecting more due to it being a 4 star hotel. It felt more like a 3 star hotel. Also, the dry cleaning amenities don't work well due to their schedule. Something that can improve, specially in a 4 star hotel. I didn't find it worth the fee that I paid per night.

I’m not one to leave negative comments but there are a few things I’d like to share since this property gets high ratings. This was my second stay. My room was not properly cleaned. There were visible hairs in the shower, which leads me to believe it was not properly cleaned and therefore much more filth that I couldn’t see if the naked eye. There were hand marks on the door, handles, etc., and the carpeting around the bed was worn and dirty (I had to go buy cheap slippers to walk around in). I chose this property due to its proximity to the Javits, but the area of town is terrible. Stepping outside to grab my morning coffee at Starbucks around the block I walked past human feces on the sidewalk. Lastly, I declined housekeeping as I do not like my personal items being touched during my stay. Both days I stopped at the front desk to ask for no service and only one of the days they honored my request. The only positive I can share was my check in process was smooth and the front desk agent was very kind and pleasant. This stay will be my last at this property. If you value cleanliness and a sense of safety in your surroundings, I would consider other areas of the city. If you need a place to crash for an event at the Javits or even MSG, it’ll get the job done.

Only noise was the hallway in the morning, but only since our room was close to the elevator. Only thing missing would be free breakfast. We would still stay here again!

This hotel is centrally located near Penn Station and subway stations. Rooms are a pretty good size for NYC, and everything seemed to be newly renovated, and very clean. All staff that I encountered were friendly and kind.

Loved the in room wellness tools, gym was great, location near Penn Station super convenient. Only downside was neighborhood wasn't ideal, some homelessness as walk to from the hotel.

I left a luggage compartment in the room we stayed in. When I called to ask about it, housekeeping supervisor said nothing was tagged or turned in to the lost and found. I know for sure it was left because I went from the hotel to our cruise ship. Housekeeping just didn’t turn it in and decided to keep my valuable VS undergarments. Who would want someone else’s undergarments? I don’t know

Great facilities in both in the rooms (spacious shower room, complimentary tea/coffee, work out equipment, complimentary laundry) and great public areas (well equipped gym, games room, breakfast area, bar etc.) couldn’t ask for more. The staff were completely clueless. They charged me for my stay basically the day before check in and then charged me AGAIN when I checked in and couldn’t help me at all on this issue.

The rooms were clean and staff friendly. Went to dining area, crumbs on tables, menu limited. With limited menu still, certain food not available (shrimp and burgers). Espresso machine out of service, no hot water/ coffee. Improve in the food and you may get us to come back for a short visit. I wouldn’t stay any longer than a couple days given limited dining. Full size beds versus queen size made for squished sleeping.

Nice room with plenty of outlets / USB charging. Clean room, comfortable bed, and a shower with the showerhead high enough for tall people. The included breakfast was actually quite good, and made to order from the regular menu, and the restaurant staff were prompt and courteous. Not much of a view from the rear 9th floor room windows, but given the midtown Manhattan location and very reasonable cost, that's to be expected. Overall, a good experience.

My sister and I had a great stay! The staff was really friendly and accommodating. It was walkable to everywhere that we needed to be. Hotel was clean as well. We bought the breakfast package during our stay which was not worth it in my opinion because the options are limited and the quality of the food wasn’t good. We we only used it once and then decided to get breakfast else where for the remainder of our stay.

For my lifestyle, this was the PERFECT HOTEL! Loved the gym and in room fitness things—-yoga mat, roller, bands with exercise post set up. Near train, a Starbucks and a Whole Foods a 5 minute walk. And near MSG. I think I will always stay at an EVEN hotel whenever I can!

A lovely little fitness focused hotel. My room was spacious and equipped with some great work out gear and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The carpet could have used a slightly deeper clean near the bed but overall a wonderful stay.

Room is clean, great housekeeping. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. As a four stars, it lacked some basics, i.e., slippers, shower cap, etc. walls are not soundproof at all. Breakfast was ok, you order from menu, lots of inconsistencies! One day you can have your coffee topped up the next day you couldn’t. Not enough tables with people walking away and they had one staff taking orders, clearing tables, services, etc! Consider tables reconfiguration and maybe have another staff at peak time and allow guests to self serve coffee/tea. On our last day we had wanted to grab breakfast then do last minute shopping, instead we waited for over an hour for our breakfasts. Manager joined to help out but got flustered! We can hear the mgr and serving staff angry words! Location is good but lots of construction work in the area though- April 2025. The carpet was dirty and stained on our floor, 15th floor. Water/ice machine, didn’t work on our floor, tried a few other floors too- water was cloudy so gave up.

Everything was great, except that I was overcharged for the incidental fee. They charged my card $100 instead of $50. Just make sure they are charging you correctly before check-in. Besides that it was a great experience!

This was by far the best hotel I have stayed in, in NYC. I go to conferences and frequently get hotels and I’m not usually impressed. EVEN was top notch and I really appreciated the yoga mat in the room for my daily practice! Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Nice Restaurant/ bar, very clean and comfortable rooms/ beds. Many perks that come along with staying at the hotel. I will definitely be staying at this hotel from now on!

We were very pleased with our week long stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located close to a variety of restaurants and the subway as well as Times Square. The side street location was relatively quiet. We appreciated the filtered water stations, lemon-mint water in the lobby, great water pressure with a rain shower head, and seemingly endless supply of hot water. The front desk staff were very helpful and our room was always made up, even if we slept in. As an added bonus, our family really enjoyed the game room in the evenings. I originally chose this hotel for its location and, unlike some of the large chains, free internet. I highly recommend it.

This hotel was absolutely fine. I had to book last minute, and I had no complaints. It is, however, a little underwhelming. Couldn't fault the staff, breakfast was very good (even for my fussy eater), room was well serviced daily. The location is great for the subway (Penn), Hudson Yards, Macys, Empire State, and food/coffee. The street looks a little shady after dark, but the NYPD were a few doors down which was reassuring.

On a one way street off 8th main avenue, so it made getting an Uber less stressful. Great hotel in perfect location. Police precinct is next door so felt extra safe walking to and from.

Property is very convienient to Penn St and easily walkable with luggage. Rooms were clean and modern. Staff were very friendly.

3 minutes walk to subway and a ton of restaurants in the area. Very clean rooms and loved the fitness features throughout the hotel. Staffs are supre friendly and helpful. Will come back again.

Good location, clean, friendly, good breakfast

The HVAC in the room was broken and the room was 85 degrees. It was extremely uncomfortable.

What a fantastic stay. We went for the week of Thanksgiving. The area around the hotel is very walkable and there are food options nearby. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Definitely going to stay here again.

Looks like a new or recently renovated hotel. Lobby, restaurant and room all in great shape. Front desk service was as good as it gets. Also, great location.

Location was close to everything major sights. Area was very badly lit, and at times had some unsavoury characters.

I would not recommend this location for people with families. The hotel faces the back of a bigger hotel. The view is dumpsters and garbage. The hotel is also close to a susbstance abuse recovery clinic as important as they may be needed, it's good to know the site is very close to the hotel. As for location, it's great. Close to the subway, police station, Times Square, Empire State Building and other mid town attractions

The property seemed very modern in the midst of storefronts not so upgraded. The hotel was awesome, especially the beds. I couldn’t ask for better.

Front desk staff was amazing! Super close to subway. Plenty of food options close by. The hotel was super clean. Several thoughtful touches. As a single woman of a certain age, it was comforting to find out the location was nextdoor to the police station. Lookinf forward to my next stay!

The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended places to eat and answered my questions. The BEST part of my stay was the shuttle service that took me back to the airport. It wasn't a van like I expected. It was an all black Navigator. The driver's name was Gabriel. He was VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KIND. I felt presidential on my way to the airport.

Very nice staff. Rooms a bit small but was enough for a couple. Bed was comfortable. It is in very good location we were able to walk around everywhere and eat good food around the hotel. We enjoyed our time there.

Very quick walk to MSG. Room was ready early. That was nice! Loved the lemon mint water and filtered water in the lobby. Everything was clean. Perfect place to stay for a quick NYC weekend!

Have ever had in NYC , little games room (fusball and table tennis and board games). Lovey restaurant. The staff were so friendly. Perfect. Subway around the corner.
