All was great and as expected. I wish they had more of a restaurant/decent bar on the property

Disappointing

I would not stay in this hotel again. The furnishings, linens, etc. all seemed cheap. In addition, the rooms are not particularly comfortable or appealing.

Pros, bedding was clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was clean, plenty towels and shower had nice hot water. Cons, The coffee was the worst, food was very expensive. Hotel itself was very nice.

Just ok. Window coverings didn’t work. Darkening shade didn’t go down. Lots of remotes that did nothing. Harsh lighting. Cleaning crew knocking before check out even with a do not disturb sign.

Would definitely stay again. Great location. Beds were comfortable. Body wash and lotion smelled great. The only downside was how small the room was. We had to put the luggage on the bed to open it up.

I've stayed here multiple times - I love the location and ease of getting to and from the hotel, especially if working on the east side. Easier access to subway, buses. Love the in-room yoga equipment. Apotheke bath items. A number of things were broken in the room (lights, desk) and in the hall (no water).

Wasn’t an overly clean property. Old k cups still in the coffee maker, mold in the bathroom, hair in the beds. Location was fine. Elevator didnt work for part of the time and keys don’t work in the stairwell, so be careful not to get stuck.

The hotel itself was very nice — clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The rooms were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. However, the customer service from most of the staff was disappointing and not very welcoming. The only person who was genuinely kind and friendly during my stay was the cleaning lady, who always greeted me with a smile and made me feel comfortable. She was honestly the highlight of the service experience.

This hotel is located about two blocks from Grand central, so that location was convenient for me to catch trains out of. Room cleaners were very nice and courteous. The views from my higher floor were nice. No street noise at all which I loved. The room I booked was basic, and it was pretty darn small. The only place for my suitcase was either taking up half the bed, or completely covering the smallish desk in the room. Negatives: the front desk is located on floor 2, and 50% of the time nobody was there to help you. The elevators seemed slow. If you want ice for drinks, it says there's ice on every few floors, but when I asked they said "well actually just the 2nd floor" Ok, tried the ice machine and water came out, Finally asked bartender, he had to go into the kitchen. I had to do this for my entire trip. A bit of a hassle. Overall a decent stay, but they could use help making sure the little things are working and perhaps better staffing at the desk.

Modern hotel in a great location just 3 min from Grand Central. Rooms were nicely decorated and I used the provided yoga mat! Parking was a little pricey at $70/night.

We enjoyed our stay and felt paying extra for a high floor with a city view was worth the money. We could see the East River and the Chrysler building. It is a 5 minute walk to Grand Central. Since we would be taking Metro North, we chose to stay close by. It was a long walk to Times Square where we went to see a musical. I will need to call Expedia because the hotel failed to give us credit for the $365 deposit. They emailed me my receipt, so I didn’t see the mistake until later in the day.

Badly designed room with very little space to actually use the exercise equipment they provide. Not very helpful staff. Room was not very well maintained but they clean by default every day unless you ask them not to. Location is ok but honestly pricey for the amenities it provides

The location is very nice. I could walk to all interesting spots. They charged my credit card for the whole stay even though I already paid for my stay via booking.com and when I asked the receptionist why did she charge my credit card she was a bit rude and very sure that I haven’t paid for my room. After showing her my receipt from booking, she didn’t even apologize, not to mention that I still haven’t received money back.

My room was great, went with 2 queens to be able to spread at as I know how small an NYC hotel room can be. I would not stay here again. The entrance of the hotel is barely visible! On the website it states self-parking: NOT true! The staff who checked me in was not helpful and the staff who checked me out was just unfriendly! She barely made eye contact while speaking to me. I’ve stayed in many hotels in NY and I have to say that this was the worst as far as size of room and poor communication w front desk staff. Just very unfriendly!!! I felt like they were being bothered by my presence.

Quirky boutique-style hotel in midtown, 24 hr gym, in-room workout station, complimentary coffee machines and flavored water in the lobby. On site restaurant and bar with very reasonable prices and tasty food. I ding them on the limited elevators (so try to avoid upper floors if you can) and the coffee machine in my room didn’t work. But otherwise great stay, I’d go back.

The hotel is well located, and rooms are clean and nice. Access to front desk is on the 2nd floor, which is slightly unusual.

My second time staying at Even Hotels. It's great if you need to be in that area: reliable, safe, relatively clean. The bathroom was a bit dirty (unclean toilet) when we arrived but otherwise was adequate.

The rooms were nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Hotel is Well situated close to times square. Staff was very helpfull from the front desk folks giving us a great tip for a bagel place nearby and a 10% discount. Bridget the manager was very nice and attentive. I would i highly reccomend this hotel.

The room we got was leaking water in the bathroom and kept us up for the first night. To the staff's credit, they moved us to another room, but the front desk clerk barely showed any human traits of concern or empathy as she was doing it. The keycards weren't the best quality for us (or some of the other travelers) and caused issues in the elevator. We did not take part in Breakfast since it was an exorbitant additional charge - It was far cheaper (even by NYC standards) to just eat at one of the dozens of places around the block. The central location in Manhattan was a great convenience though, so I would give credit for that.

The staff are amazing! Julissa was so friendly when we checked in and she gave us a great room. The location is very convenient too. They have a nice bar/food area and an outside patio area that overlooks 44th Street. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is super clear, very comfortable, modern and well located. It's very good value for money compared to other 4 start hotels in the area that are more dated, less convenient, etc. The bar is nice, the staff are great, the bathroom was new and clean and the rooms are comfortable (though not large). For some reason my room didn't have a fridge, despite there clearly being space for one in the design, which was inconvenient and disappointing.

$5 happy hour was great, as was Alden the barman who was fab to chat to. Included breakfast wasn't bad, especially the waffle. Rooms were clean if a little small. Location is good for Midtown/Grand Central area. We had two rooms and emailed twice months in advance to have either connecting rooms or at least 2 on the same floor. But when we arrived, they put us on different floors. We did manage to move to the same floor a day later but it was inconvenient. Reception staff didn't seem to care much.

This used to be my usual stay in NYC, but no longer. It’s the elevators! There are 3 and they are dominated by the hotel cleaning staff. One elevator is permanently locked for the cleaning staff, however, they are still forced to use the other two. Elevator wait times were way too long

This was my second stay and I thought it was better than last time - bigger room, large bathroom. Everyone on staff was great. The welcome drink gave me an opportunity to meet some other people staying there. Gym is quite large by NYC standards and I love the yoga equipment in the room. And they wash your gym clothes for delivery the next day - loved this. Location is excellent, near lots of food options, and near FedEx and Walgreens. Elevators got progressively worse as the trip went on - multiple breaking down. I would love to see more sustainability options in the room or hotel, such as reusable cups for your stay instead of the plastic wrapped cups. The overhead showerhead was a little dirty but luckily there was a handheld shower available too.

I was so pleasantly surprised at this hotel. I was worried the rooms would feel cramped, but our family of 4 had all the room we needed. The location is unbeatable - we were up down and all around the city for our 5 day visit and it was so convenient. We didn’t use any amenities and never dealt with any employees other than check in/out, but all was smooth and clean, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

It almost feels like someone is trying to get to your room.

The location is great, the price is affordable. The room was clean. If you are a sports person there are gears in the room. The AC is loud, which is common in most of the hotels. The bed was not very comfortable. You can hear all the noises in the corridor.

The room itself was quite small, but I liked the optional storage space underneath the bed. One thing to note is that there was no mini-fridge in the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which made for a good night’s rest. Tip for future guests: parking through SpotHero is cheaper than the $55/night rate advertised in the hotel lobby. There is a garage across the street and slightly to the left of the hotel where you can usually find better prices, but be sure to book through SpotHero. The location was very convenient. My partner and I chose this hotel because we were in town to see a Broadway play, and it worked out perfectly for that.

We had a great stay at EVEN Hotel Midtown! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. They kindly stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which allowed us to explore the city without carrying our big bags around. That convenience made such a difference! Would definitely stay here again. Wish our room had a better view other than that everything was good.

2 Years ago i visited with my friends. Breakfast was free. That was the one of reason we chose this hotel. This time breakfast was not included. We were dissappointed. Location was great. Breakfast would be included.

The self-help kisok menu and billing pages was confusing, not laid out well, needed to have more detail instructions and did not list all items in the refrigerator. The elevators were slow and at times when the call button was pushed went by our floor without stopping. One day our room was not made up even though there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign handing from oo door handle.

There is no microwave in the room only in the hotel lobby. I rate the cleanliness a 8.5/10. There is a $75 a night charge and then $30 for amenities which is taken out of your deposit which is honestly pretty high but. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall 8/10 not many complaints.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a family trip in early January. Unfortunately, I can't get past a few things: 1. The "Amenity fee" (which amounts to nearly $35 after tax) is a nuisance and unnecessary. Over 3 nights, that's just a $100 cash grab. If you need more revenue, include this in your base fee. The Vegas-style "resort fees" have spread like wildfire but doesn't mean this hotel has to do it too. 2. Upon arrival (at around noon), the front desk staff were indifferent to us. No acknowledgement of our presence at the desk (waiting patiently for them to finish whatever it was they were doing). No hello, no welcome... no warmth.. no customer service. It seemed like we were an inconvenience and - that, paired with the nuisance amenity fee - caused me to rethink whether my family should stay at the property. I travel extensively for business and stay at many hotels - my needs are very simple and I generally have low expectations. But.. the front desk team are the face of the property and set the tone for the stay! On the flipside, the bellhop was very friendly and responsive. We encountered staff in the elevators who were friendly and enthusiastic. My review would have been more positive had it not been for the awful check in experience.

The staff was super prompt and helpful. It was a very busy season and they handled it beautifully. A shoutout to the housekeeping staff who were incredible. The location of this hotel and the cleanliness makes up for any shortcomings they may have. I would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay here again.

Immaculate hotel, clean and comfortable. Couldn’t fault the facilities. The only reason I didnt score 5 was because the room was a little small with a tiny wardrobe space. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. It was quiet , no noise from surrounding rooms just the occasional police siren in the night. Wonderful breakfast cooked to order every day.

I mostly enjoyed the ability to change the lights in the room to suit the mood. The small fridge is great to keep food from spoiling and fresh including water. The lobby area has a nice layout and view. It location is prime real estate. I enjoy the variety of TV'S in the lobby. The staff was wonderful - helpful and happy doing so. The food was SO good. The location is great - less than 5 min walk to Grand Central. The shower was glorious. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room is small but I think what is expected in NY. The room was clean except for some out of the way spots that I would never have seen if I had not dropped an earring. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

The room was very clean and cleaned daily. The location is the best, as you can walk to almost anything, hop on a bus or subway with a 2-minute walk, and lots of reasonable dining options all around. Staff were very nice. However, the power on one side of the bed did not work, outlets or charging ports. The fridge did not work when we arrived, but were able to fix it. And on the 3rd night of our 5-night stay the heat stopped working. They sent someone to fix it, but he wasn't able to. It dropped down into the 20's at night. He brought us a portable heater, which stopped working after about 5 minutes and we had to turn it off, unplug it, and wait a few minutes before it would turn back on. Our party had two rooms and everything in the other room was perfect. Also, there are limited storage spaces due to the size of the rooms, being typical NYC rooms. We didn't discover until the last day that there are large drawers under the beds! That would have been helpful had we realized it earlier. Even with the maintenance issues of the one room, I would stay here again. It is unique to find such a clean hotel in a quiet area of NYC that is still in walking distance to everything. The staff there are also very kind.

Just as small issue, compared to 'Huge Hotel Chains"- This is more like 'chic boutique'. Beyond that, Justin at the front desk, made everything feel like a family gathering. Bar at the front, so much fun, with fun, happy people, and great bartender. Anything that was asked for, was provided immediately. Room service, quick and efficient, and location, next to Bryant Park--AWESOME. A NYC girl, looking at new apartments, so I know a find, when I see one.LOVED. Make note..not TIMES SQUARE LOCATION, EVEN EAST SIDE.

Great location, clean, well appointed room, and each person in our room received a voucher for a free drink at the bar. The bartender was super friendly. Our room was on the 24th floor and we had a beautiful view of the Chrysler building and river. Two car garages adjacent to the property made this a convenient location. Highly recommend!

The hotel was walking distance to alot of places: 15 mins walk to Rockefeller, Saks 5th, Bryant Park, and Time Square and about 25 mins to Macys. Theres lots of places to eat as well. Close to bus stop and subway. Its less than 10 min walk to Grand Central Station. The hotel is very nice, clean, modern. There is no breakfast but they have snacks and drinks available. There is a small cooler and a keurig but no microwave. There is a hairdryer. They have a yoga mat, workout band but no iron. There is also a resort fee of $25+tax per night as well.

Staff was so friendly and helpful! Room was clean and shower was just perfect. Staff was able to help us with our bags after check out but before out flight and helped us get transportation. Room keys to unlock our floor made us feel so safe as a couple 20 year old girls visiting the city. Location was so close to grand central and times square that we walked a lot of our trip but also close enough to subway terminals when we needed to go farther. Will be staying again next time we plan a trip to NYC.

Everything was up to expectations and the room was huge for an nyc hotel. Floor was a little dirty and furniture was scuffed but other than that everything was lovely.

The bathroom didn't have great privacy as it's just a sliding door. We are not sued to such a large security deposit on the $25 charge per night on top but this might be common in NYC.

The hot water comes out a milky colour, a machine coffee is $5 and they charge for hot water. The housekeeping was excellent, and the bed was comfortable, location pretty decent. Wouldn’t return.

The hotel was comfortable for our stay. Furnishings have some wear and the tv could be updated, but otherwise a nice place. The elevator had some issues one evening, but it was only a minor inconvenience. Staff were friendly.

Hotel is very convenient to Grand Central and midtown east. Very clean and large rooms. Quiet hotel, secure with a good reception and lounge. Good price for Manhattan. Of course, the ridiculous "amenity charge" or resort fee was tacked on at $30/day which is nothing short of criminal and hopefully will be regulated or made illegal by the NYC administration. Just state the real price in your ads and let the consumer decide.

the highlight of my stay was the warm greeting and always helpful front desk staff! the hotel is well located, clean and comfortable. my stay was delightful.

My only issue was the desk placement. I had to work more than I had planned, and the desk was so close to the bed it was impossible for my girlfriend to move around the room while I was working.

My stay was great. Best sleep ever in a hotel. Quiet for NY and super comfortable. Although the restaurant is separate, their food was not good for myself or my friend who had a pasta dish. Spent $70 on a steak covered in butter without any flavor. I couldn’t believe it.

Coming back to a clean and made-up room every day was a great experience. Mandy was awesome! I was a solo traveler, and the room size was just right. The only noticeable thing was that I could hear the mechanics of the elevators based on where my room was located. It wasn't a deal breaker, just noticeable.

We really enjoyed our stay….then we were doing the usual room once over before we checked out and found this pretty disgusting stain on the mattress cover. There was nothing else that was obviously dirty, but I certainly don’t have a lot of confidence in the room’s cleanliness after seeing that. For what I paid to stay at this hotel, it’s truly unacceptable. The room and bathroom are incredibly spacious , staff was nice, location is good, but I’d trade all that for a clean bed. Cleanliness is the bare minimum I expect in a hotel. The rest of the amenities are just a bonus.

We stay at EVEN whenever we can (when it's not already sold out). It's super convenient to everything - shops, our daughter's dorm, subway, restaurants. They have lots of amenities and the staff is great.

The location of the hotel is excellent - close to U.N., Grand Central, several subway lines and many restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Elevators can have a long wait. There's an "amenity fee," which is odd for lodging that is not a resort and has no pool. Gym is ok. Only real benefit of amenity fee is a free drink at the bar. Other than that, a good stay.

Breakfast was delicious, with lovely presentation. We did not get a chance to try dinner due to our schedule, but the smells were amazing. Maybe next time.

The only issue was the parking and cost, especially since we drove to drop our son off at LIM for college. The breakfast options were also terrible; we went to the corner store down the street for bagel sandwiches.

However there was a broken readinf light in my room. One more thing, expedia didnt book my room with the hotel but they dealt with it well and sat me at the bar for a free drink while they found me one. Looks like an error on expedias part

The hotel have the overall vibe of a spa, very peaceful, quiet, and nice to look at. Room wasn’t the most spacious, but worked perfectly for my family or 3. Train is 5 minutes away, surrounded by many many food options, staff is friendly. Overall 10/10 experience, I cannot think of a complaint. Also, loved the drink vouchers! If you’re looking for a safe, affordable, bang for your buck, this is the one.

My daughter wanted to treat me to a day in the city for my 68th birthday. Museums, shopping, dinner and a show, the hotel was a convenient walking distance to all! The room even had a workout mat and equipment, so I did my back and core exercise routine while she was still sleeping in the morning! We were very pleased with our stay!

The hotel was clean, efficient, the breakfast was good, and the bartender who custom made our lemonade was wonderful. I did not receive a reply to an email I sent to the general manager about whether one of the works of art on the wall was for sale, but that's okay. All the art is a pleasure to see when we come to stay. We will definitely come back.

Everything else about our stay was spot-on: clean room, comfy bed, great location. The only downside was the front-desk attendant who checked us in; she wasn’t exactly warm or friendly. We also asked for a late checkout of just 15-20 minutes because of an urgent situation and got a hard “no, not possible today.” Policies are policies, but a little flexibility would’ve made the experience perfect.

When I checked in I was bombarded with a $28 daily convenience fee because I did not book directly from their website. I was not aware of this fee prior to booking, if I was, I may have picked a different hotel. The fee they tell me is for the gym and a feee drink daily. The gym is a public service for all customers and should not be an added fee. The daily drink was for cheap swill, store brand disgusting spirits. In addition, the bar doesn’t open till 4pm, God forbid you actually want to do something in the city, you won’t be able to use your vouchers and they are not reimbursable. The second elevator didn’t work and the small size and amount of elevators is not enough for the amount of floors and guests, I believe they may be out of code. The elevators would prioritize going up, and leave folks wanting to go down trapped on floors for 15 minutes. The cleaning crew kept changing the room thermostat without my permission. I asked for conditioner as it ran out, but was not provided any. I asked for regular coffee replacements, but they merely gave me tons of decaf and said they don’t have regular coffee. The gym was used as an alleyway for the service personnel to move luggage in and out of the building, very unprofessional, very distracting, and I actually had to pay more for this gym service. Finally, the cleaning crew was loud and I could here them having long personal conversations on their phones, even when my door was closed and I had a do not disturb sign hanging.

Enjoyed our week stay at EVEN hotel in May. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and the location was great to get to the metro. There were restaurants nearby and metro station 7 min walk away. Rooms are a little small but that is pretty standard for NY. Overall, I'd visit again.

I stayed there 5 nights. I would suggest this hotel to the people who prefer better location. The time square just 18 minutes walk away and many subways around to travel anywhere. But if you looking for high standard rooms and other facilities you might not impress.
