Every time I stay here, the staff is always so wonderful! The front desk is the best greeting team ever! They make you feel so welcome!
- 4/5
Would have liked room and bathroom to be a bit larger and have refrigerator available. Also would have preferred a shower enclosure instead of a curtain. Had a concern about the slippery floors in bathroom. Also the particular room (1001) had a terrible view.
- 5/5
We were delightfully surprised to have our room freshened up and beds made and fresh towels each day. This is so unusual these days!!! Loved that!!

The room met my expectations: it was clean, well appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets and towels were of good quality. The housekeeping staff was attentive and responsive. The bell hop, Edwin, was exceptional and offered a warm, welcome greeting upon arrival. The front desk is understaffed — long lines for World of Hyatt check in upon arrival on Thursday late morning and at check out on Saturday morning. Lots of room for improvement at the front desk.

Great amenities for the price!
- 5/5
Great hotel, centrally located, friendly...
- 5/5
We love the hotel

Clean and quiet rooms in Midtown will always be my preference. Dream Midtown did not disappoint. There’s sub stations nearby and it’s walking distance to the park and Times Square. The staff are very welcoming.
- 5/5
Dream Midtown by Hyatt in Manhattan was wonderful. It was clean and cozy, and the staff were AMAZING. They give you lots of free water, they will hail all of your cabs for you, they will address any need you have, and do it with a friendly smile. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were great, the shower was hot, and the space was perfect for my weekend stay. All in all, it was a great experience. Just be prepared that there is no coffee/tea or Keurig in the room. And you might be in a room with a window facing nothing, which means it will be a very dim/dark room. But if you don't care about that (because I didn't) you'll be fine. Also, next door is Serafina's—a wonderful restaurant enjoyed for both breakfast and lunch, and both were very reasonable in price. I would definitely come back to Dream Midtown Manhattan. I highly recommend it!

Spirit of the hotel, decor and staff. Great location. Hallways felt dingy like rundown apartments or post ywar college dorm hallways. The vinyl on the bar in my room and the corners of the bedframe were peeled.
- 5/5
Wonderful welcome by the manager, so kind! Only downside was poor lighting in the room and bathroom but for one night after a Broadway show, it’s what we needed! Would return

The location was really good. We liked being close to the various Broadway and Times Square attractions without being right in the business of Times Square. Prosecco hour at the Rickey was an unexpected perk, and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
Location They charged me extra money. They told me that my deposit would be refunded, except for the resort fee and destination tax, but they did not return the full amount. There was nothing wrong with the room, and I did not use any services or amenities that would have resulted in additional charges.
- 4/5
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. There was an issue in the shower with the attachment that caused water to spray everywhere and the refrigerator didn’t work, but I would still stay again because of the location, staff, and price.
- 1/5
There were bed bugs in my room—my partner and I both left with bed bug bites.
- 4/5
Room too small
- 3/5
This is a great location, and the rooms are small but functional. There was a bunch of construction going on, so not everything was open which was disappointing. Overall, the location is the best part of this facility.
- 3/5
Room needs some work. Carpet lifting up. Ac not properly working.

The location is fantastic. There was no gym facility

Booked this hotel as a honeymoon in New York and one of the main reasons we booked it was it showed a great roof terrace and bar. On arrival, the roof terrace was closed and not due to open until after our stay. When we checked in, nobody mentioned this and literally just handed us the room keys. Would have been nice to have received some notification ahead of our stay about this. Disappointed is an understatement. I am providing feedback to help the hotel improve communication going forward.
- 3.5/5
Location was good but very noisy… Terrasse was closed, about parking they said it is 40USD but finally we paid 60USD per day… hotel is old, elevators are very old…

The staff was wonderful. I was only in town for one night and suited my needs for the evening. I would stay here again.
- 2/5
Hidden fees. No so clean rooms. Only con is location. Well is the classical time square hotel, dirty and tourist trap.
- 4/5
Everything about the room and bathroom was very very good. Unfortunately, the rooftop, restaurant, and another bar that is advertised on site were all closed indefinitely. Didn't ruin our trip at all, but we were surprised when we found out they were no longer in service.
- 3/5
The rooftop bar isn’t available whatsoever. No mention of this prior to booking (nor still). And the bar with bowling lanes was off limits too. I think it’s for private functions? Again we were duped by images that weren’t forthcoming Add to this, there was a leak/drip directly outside our room. A moist stained carpet underfoot. Nice Isn’t the worst hotel, by any stretch. But still feel slightly aggrieved at the false advertising
- 3/5
Rooms were very small. Amenities not very kid friendly. Staff was nice. No fridge in room.
- 1/5
Very old and dirty .
- 3/5
While the location was great, I don't think I'd stay here again. The furniture and room were a bit run down, and the elevators were very small and slow. The staff at the front desk mixed up reservations with my colleague, charging my card for their room. It took several email exchanges with no resolution, until I finally had to reach out to my work to resolve things. Very unprofessional. In a city with many, many hotel options I will choose elsewhere next time.
- 5/5
I was disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed. Due to construction across the street.
- 3/5
I was a little disappointed when we arrived. The hotel looked nothing like the pics on the Hotels.com site. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly. When we got to our floor the hallway smelled like pot. Opened the door to our room and again was disappointed. The room was very small, and there were a couple of what felt like holes, divits, underneath the carpet which was filthy and the room smelled moldy. There was no fridge in the room or night stands. The view was... we'll there wasn't one. The rooftop bar was closed for renovation which was a huge dissapointment. Hotel and rooms are in serious need of renovations especially for the price that we paid for our stay. Again the staff at the front desk were exceptionally nice.
- 1/5
From the moment I arrived, the hotel smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana, which immediately set a negative tone. Unfortunately, the room itself wasn’t much better—it had an old, stale odor that made it hard to feel comfortable. What was most frustrating was how misleading the amenities are. The “game room” is advertised and shown in photos, yet it’s no longer available to guests and only used for private events. When I asked about it, I was simply offered a half-off drink coupon to a bar, which felt like a poor substitute. Service was inconsistent as well—my room wasn’t cleaned one night, with no explanation. The biggest issue, however, was the gym. It’s located about a 6-minute walk away, and I was given a card that wasn’t clearly identified as a pass. Because of this, I was denied entry, even after confirming my stay with the hotel. Considering this is a Hyatt property, I expected much better. When I raised these concerns, I was offered a cheap bottle of champagne, which felt dismissive. Overall, very disappointing experience.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Hyatt Dream midtown! It was perfectly located for our plans and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The lobby bar was also really nice. Only downside was the sink was a bit small which makes washing your face a little hard, and the shower didn't have a full door so the bathroom floor got really wet, but everything else outweighed those minor cons. Nothing an extra towel couldn't solve!
- 3/5
poorly lit room
- 5/5
Other than the thermostat being locked at a specific temperature, everything was great! We were on the second floor, which I normally wouldn’t like in New York City, but because we did not back to a street the room was very quiet and housekeeping kept everything perfect
- 4/5
Clean rooms but really small.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel! I already booked it again for my next trip.
- 5/5
Verynice
- 5/5
We arrived and were immediately greeted by Michael (manager) check in was quick with a few complimentary things like a bottle of wine, 2 for 1 vouchers at the lounge and restaurant. The hotel is clean and well maintained but ready for a face lift. All the staff, door men, security, front desk were extremely helpful and friendly and seemed genuine The room was a bit small as was the bathroom. The hotel was built in 1895, they’re allowed to be small. There was a bar fridge in the room but it was full of drinks for sale. We needed it for leftovers. We were there 5 nights. The bed was very comfortable! We weren’t in the room much anyway. The real highlight of this hotel was Arben, the concierge. I cannot say enough positive things about this man! The most helpful, knowledgeable, caring person I’ve met! Our trip to New York was outstanding because of this man! Thank you Arben. ❤️ There wasn’t one glitch. This is the reasonable place to stay in Midtown Manhattan.
- 5/5
best thing about my room was that it was very very quiet! There was construction going on on the street below but you couldn't hear a thing!
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Staff were great. It’s NYC, so pretty loud into the wee hours of the morning. Room was clean, beds were comfortable.
- 5/5

Some area could use paint touchups but overall good hotel
- 3/5
Dated, paint missing. Dark room. Shower leaks. Windows won’t open
- 5/5
Overall friendly staff. Budget hotel with not a lot of frills. We did have a fridge but no microwave on property to warm items. They did have an afternoon welcome drink and staff were so helpful. Would stay again

- 5/5
Clean room and easy check in. I mean, while I agree with the feedback I think it’s being stated incorrectly. The elevator is tiny but works great and I’m big and fit fine. The room is small but perfect for a stay in New York! It’s noisy, that is everywhere in New York. This place is a perfect choice for someone that wants to do all the city had to offer. We stayed then took a cruise and will stay anytime we are in New York! Not to mention it’s the best sink I’ve ever had in a hotel!
- 5/5
Best location slightly away from Times Square and close to Central Park
- 3/5
No AC in our room this time.
- 3/5
Okay hotel with nice location
- 5/5
The staff overall at this hotel is so friendly! I’ve stayed in the past and every time I do I have never had a bad experience. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and it’s walking distance to the theater I was seeing a show at and time square
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location!
- 5/5
Enjoyed breakfast menu, staff very friendly and helpful rooms were very clean and I had no complaints during my stay
- 4/5
The mirror lighting in our bathroom room 901 was really bad and the roof top bar was closed? Other than those two things the stay was really 👍 good.
- 5/5
Nice bathroom, great bed. Everything was perfect.

Very noisy A
- 5/5
Very clean hotel, staff was pleasant and very accomodating, will definitely visit again. :)
- 5/5
This is my go to hotel in Midtown. Great location- close to Central Park, broadway, Times Square but quieter and cleaner where this hotel is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but mighty! Super comfortable and feels spacious despite the smaller footprint. Love this hotel and will continue to stay here for my NYC travel.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff friendly except at bar, didn’t use the gym as there is enough walking in NYC. Great location!
- 5/5

- 3/5
It’s an older building that has undergone renovation. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. It’s in a convenient location. It felt a little cramped and there weren’t enough towels. Housekeeping delivered right away when we asked for more but when they made up the room, took the towels away so we had to call again. There’s not a gym onsite either. Overall a good stay for the price.
- 2/5
For the cost it was a poor choice. For a premium price you get a bed and tv. No view, in room refer or coffee, no rooftop bar (closed), no free coffee or breakfast. And upon checkout a surprise $200 fee for booking through a third party. Disappointed.
- 5/5
Thank you so much for all
- 3/5
The air vent in my room was making loud cracking noises throughout the night and repeatedly woke me up. This made it very difficult to get proper rest during my stay.
- 5/5
Staff was beyond fantastic - this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to share my experience.
- 4/5
Very snall but very nice and clean room. Only complaint is the noise from the hallway and other rooms nearby
- 5/5
I liked the Dream Midtown. My husband and I needed to take care of some business close by and this hotel was perfect. There were a lot of things to do within walking distance. The room was simple and clean. At check in we were greeted by Mike that has excellent customer service. I met Edwin; the bellhop. He was polite and when we checked out, he offered to hold our bags in case we wanted to do any last minute site seeing. Also, he offered us assistance to the airport if needed.
- 4/5
Good location
- 4/5
Room did not have a mini fridge! Amenities pretty nonexistent. Window opened to ugly alley. Tiny room. Staff friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Need to have working TV.
- 5/5
The location is perfect if you are in town to see Broadway shows. It’s a 6 minute walk to the theaters. The location is also ideal to grab the subway line N, Q, R, W (Yellow), it’s a 2 minute walk to this subway station. The hotel is small but very clean, the only thing that needs improvement is the amenities. We had half of a toilet paper roll when we checked in and I called housekeeping to request more toilet paper and we never got it. The staff wasn’t helpful but I understand they just want to check you in and check you out, very transactional. I would definitely come back due to the ideal location.
- 3/5
Disappointed that the rooftop bat was under renovation
- 5/5

- 1/5
You get what you pay for on here . Terrible service, terrible rooms. Great location, that’s about it !!
- 5/5
Our room was spotless, bed was super comfy, staff was friendly and helpful, the surrounding area was clean and busy. Within walking distance from Time Square and any restaurant you could imagine. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Great room and excellent staff
- 2/5
The hotel is in a great location, right in midtown. The rooms are tiny but clean and the beds are comfortable. Other then that, it doesn't have nuch going for it. Once you arrive, if you can find it with the limited signage and the front desk hidden behind a giant aquarium, you'll head to your room in the tiniest of elevators. There are no amenities, there might be an outside pool per the internet but no clue where that it is. There is a rooftop hangout but kids aren't allowed so I never saw it. The first night I was exhausted from the trip but couldn't sleep because of all the banging doors and someone walking their crying baby in the hall at midnight. Tge construction noise that happens even on the weekend will kill any opportunity to sleep in. The hallway always smelled of weed anytime we left the room. If you book through Expedia don't expect a room with a view and be prepared to be next to the elevator. I wish I read more reviews before booking this hotel.
- 5/5
Location, location, location! We walked to our Broadway show, Central Park, MOMA and other museums, and there were countless places to eat right outside our door. Staff were polite and helpful, security was exceptional, building was clean, beds were comfy. Parking was very close and discounted when validated by the hotel. Highly recommend.
- 4/5
The hotel location is perfect. It’s minutes away from all the tourist attractions, restaurants, and stores.
- 3/5
Would have given it a 5 star but I requested a microwave and was told after the staff checked that there was none available. Killed my plans for this meant I was gonna have to eat my food cold. Room was ok but too small
- 5/5
Desk staff so friendly and accommodating!
- 3/5
The rooms were clean, you hear everything on the streets, when we were told to check out at 1pm for a late checkout, we got a call at 12:59 in the room saying I am wrong it was 12 and she gave me such a bad attitude. Then she saw me check out and walked away and another man took care of us.
- 4/5
Orbitz charged me $60 for a $14.99 cup of coffee and toast. Need to work on that! Will contact Orbitz separately for a refund.
- 5/5
The room was very clean! The staff was very helpful!
- 5/5
Location was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the hotel restaurant Serafina.

- 5/5
Room was very clean and comfortable
- 2/5
Deceptive advertising. Pictures not representative of the room size or quality.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room, central location in Manhattan, plenty of wooden hangers, lots of outlets for devices. Complimentary water bottles in the lobby to take up to your room. One complaint is lack of coffee maker in room AND no coffee in the lobby as an alternative. The lobby in general is very spartan. It’s not a comfortable place to hangout. Maybe their restaurant Serefino would be better for that, but didn’t try that. Fortunately, there’s a Starbucks on the corner for coffee and a CVS two blocks away for sundries. It was also very noisy — constant horns, delivery trucks, emergency vehicles, upset homeless people yelling for whatever reason. I don’t recall this much noise from my last visit to NYC less than one year ago. Perhaps it was the neighborhood that was different on this visit.
- 3/5
Seemed a little dirty and dusty. Stained bed sheets. Very small. It should be noted that there is NOT a mini fridge in your room. Beds slept well though. Pillows were thick. Location was great.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
We'll be back!
- 4/5
The staff was truly amazing. Every single one! Helpful, kind, and helped me deal with an issue with the room next to mine that was out of their control. My ONLY complaint is that the thermostat in the rooms isn’t actually adjustable. You can turn the fan on and off, but it didn’t control the actual temp. It’s loud there, because it’s in the midst of so much great stuff, which I don’t mind but feel like I should mention!
- 5/5
Great experience all round, pleasant staff clean room good room service
- 4/5
Lobby was super cute. Loved the fish tank. They also give free bottles of water during the stay which is nice. Room was nicely decorated, but a bit small (which is normal for most NYC hotels). Only downside was while we technically got the free internet in our room, the signal strength was so low nothing would load.
- 5/5
The staff were fantastic. From the check in to the bellman to the concierge (the recommendations for food were fantastic) everything went splendidly.
- 4/5
staff very friendly. Room very pretty.
- 4/5
Room is just too smsll
- 3/5
This hotel is in a great location. That is the best part. In terms of the facilities they’re very average rooms - pretty basic in terms of decor, mostly clean - no complaints there. This is New York City Midtown so the rooms were very small and very little to no furnishing. No artwork. There were old pieces of wood for furniture all painted white with the paint peeling off. Looked like something a high schooler would build in woodworking class and then throw some white paint on there. It was noisy outside pretty much all night long. The staff were very nice. Everything worked fine. I guess the main adjective to describe this hotel was “meh.” Not great , not terrible - just meh.
- 5/5
Fantastic location for walking, restaurants, Broadway and getting around via the subways. Hotel was neat and clean and staff was friendly, helpful and just very pleasant. All of the concierge staff was helpful and had great tips for getting around. I will be staying her again.
- 5/5
Simple, easy, great location, great value.
- 5/5
Great stay in NYC! We were able to check in early and were welcomed with bottled water, which was much appreciated. The room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathrobe and slippers were a nice bonus. The location is unbeatable-close to attractions, restaurants, shops, coffee, and the subway. Would definitely stay here again!

- 5/5
The area is beautiful
- 5/5
The check in was quick and easy

Worst hotel experience of my life
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel staff was probably the nicest staff I have ever encountered during a hotel stay. The location was perfect and I appreciate the free bottles of water we received daily. My only regret was not asking for a room with a better view.
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable bed, nice staff, clean- and affordable — wha mire could you ask for in NYC?
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly , well educated of the area and handsome! 😉
- 5/5
It was a great experience was able to get parking close by. The bellhop/doorman was amazing in greeting us an helping with our luggage. I highly recommend this hotel
- 1/5
But most importantly, the staff were not helpful to me and my brother who are blind. They were patronizing, disrespectful, and rude to me and my brother when we asked for assistance and explanations and refused to extend our stay or provide other reasonable accommodations, forcing me to book a separate day via a third-party platform, even though we needed an extra night because our flight was canceled due to weather, proceeded to double charged me on fees, and overall were just very unpleasant and disrespectful. All in addition to being overpriced for what we got. Overall, very disappointed in the staff and how they treated me and my brother and I don’t know if I will ever be staying at this hotel or another Hyatt hotel again
- 5/5
Very convenient. Comfy bed.
- 4/5
Check-in was quick; room clean; location is in a good area to get to Times Square and the subway. I would stay again.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely courteous, the room was clean, and it was in a great location. Our flight got in earlier than expected and staff allowed us to check in early. It was a lifesaver!
- 5/5
Room was exactly what was needed for a short stay to attend a conference.
- 4/5
Staff was great. WiFi didn't work for us.
- 4/5
So was the gentleman who helped me w my computer. All the staff was great and friendly! The fish tank was a highlight. The coffee very mediocre Serafina had good food and great service. Carpet and room setting could use some updating .very good people cleaning the rooms .
- 3/5
The location was nice but other than that not much to say. They charge a resort fee but offer nothing no breakfast, pool or gym. We had to request housekeeping bring a second set of towels as there were two of us registered in the room, but only one set of towels. We stayed during Christmas the roof top bar was closed on Christmas understandable then for a private event and the next night due to weather so we never got to experience that. Front desk staff was friendly but all in all I would not stay here again.
- 2/5
It would have been nice to know in advance. Changed rooms twice either was better. Before you book- this will impact your sleep / rest. Staff is very nice too.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Room was extremely Small and next door to the electrical closet ! Not pleased whatsoever ! Staff was Amazing !!! I had to stare @ a wall and construction site.I would have thought that it would be much better although I was very pleased with the Staff !!! -M-
- 5/5
When they had to change my room, they offered a comparable room, with a substantial credit to the restaurant. Good amenities, especially for an overnight stay. The area is close to many good spots for shopping and dining. 5min walk to Carnegie Hall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. AC was easy to adjust. Showers don’t have a closing door, to its easy to get water on the bathroom floor. There are no hand rails in the shower either, so it may be difficult for some to be secure.
- 5/5
Dream Hotel was conveniently located to family and work. Staff was friendly and room was spotless.
- 5/5
Clean. The staff was great. The shower was amazing. The location couldn’t been better.
- 1/5
Room had a horrible smell and the bathroom water was dirty
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
Excellent staff, Proximity to everything.
- 5/5
We visited the rooftop bar and the staff was great
- 4/5
Staff is very friendly. Room was in good condition except for minor things. Such as dirty wooden base boards and bed frame corners showing some damage. Good location and price. Very close to many nice restaurants
- 4/5
Room ok, tv did not work, fridge not working. Small but ok for 1 night.
- 3/5
The rooftop bar was cold but the bartender was very nice so we stuck it out. Unfortunately we did not have hot water in the morning but they waived the $40 service fee. We would have preferred hot water but something is better than nothing.
- 3/5
Staff very friendly. Room basic. No breakfast provided even though included via online booking.
- 5/5
The staff was attentive, accommodating to my needs and very polite. The room did not come equipped with many things I thought were standard, but when I asked for them, they promptly brought them. The heat did not work the first night, so they moved us to a new room. Arben even comped us two mornings of a full breakfast for two at the restaurant next door. I Also liked that they had a ramp and a handicap button to open the door. The location was the best part!
- 5/5
Amazing staff. Clean room, soundproof rooms. Great spot
- 2/5
No breakfast, coffee pot, microwave or fridge in room. Noisy! cleaning staff and guests in hallways, doors closing are loud. Tiny room.
- 5/5
My 2 daughters and I had a great stay. Staff was lovely and sweet.
- 5/5
Great service, day to day cleaning, concierge Joe was great. Bed very comfortable
- 1/5
Where should I start . Upon check in no where to park so you can get your bags out of car. only three elevators and one is freight elevator. We proceeded to dinner in hotel where it seemed as the restaurant drugged my wife. Upon further review the practice here is marrying alcohol bottles causing my wife to become extremely ill. The room at the hotel was less than what you would expect. But the big surprise for us something on sheets which looked like blood. Plus and added bonus the room was located right next to the construction area outside which figure out Monday morning when the banging start . In addition to the room booked through a three party hotel charged me an additional $218.70 in facility fee at checkout after sharing my concerns with front desk . The response was did we fix it . I explained it shouldn’t have happened in the place. I am far from done with this matter. But wouldn’t recommend this property.
- 3/5
Was not really nice

Amazing staff , hotel and service. Will stay here again for sure !!

- 5/5
Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Amazing staff!
- 2/5
We got a room in the first floor with zero views. The lights in the bathroom are too dim. There is no coffee maker in the room. The front desk personnel are not welcoming!!
- 4/5
Maybe put 1or 2 bottles of water in every room will be better
- 4/5
The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. Room was alright, but a lot of stains on carpet and couch. Pretty off putting. As well as the sketchiest and smallest elevator I’ve ever seen. It actually made my girlfriend have a panic attack
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, updated, and in a great location! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great hotel, good service, and great location!
- 5/5
Beds were comfortable
- 4/5
Location was great and staff very friendly
- 2/5
Very disappointed at the quality of the room for the price. Too small, no coffee maker in the room, no access to ice machine on the floor, TV was very difficult to navigate, view terrible. Would not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Fantastic location, very friendly staff!
- 5/5
Comfortable hotel.
- 4/5
The bathroom mirror light did not work (burning out) & when I mentioned it to desk staff, I was advised that this is a common problem. (maybe it should be fixed!). He did offer a makeup mirror which was brought to the room. It was very nice that we could leave our luggage in a holding room after check out as our plane did not leave until 9pm. The concierge was helpful in getting us a ride to the airport.
- 3/5
Only complaint I have is the $40/per day “facilities charge” we were only notified of once we were checking out. This is for “water bottles and access to facilities.” This felt a little sneaky; I do wish this additional expense was shared before we booked our stay. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and found this hotel to be a pretty good central point in NYC. It’s only a few minutes away from a good coffee shop, a Din Tai Fung, and the subway, and even with the facilities fee, is a good price point for a NYC hotel.
- 5/5
Great front desk help, love the rooftop bar, and the perfect Manhattan location
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
Courteous staff. Room service from attached restaurant was outstanding! Delicious breakfast and dinner!

- 2/5
The room was facing the street and was extremely loud all night. From the trucks, to the traffic, to the trash being picked up, to loud noises I barely slept. There was no coffee pot in the room and no room service. I was moved from one room to another because the first room smelled like mold.
- 5/5

- 5/5
2 thumbs up......waaay up!
- 5/5
Front desk staff so pleasant and helpful! Super clean room - nice bathroom - would stay here again!
- 5/5
Property is aged and rooms and bathrooms are too small. I also didn’t get any sleep due to noise in the hallway and outside the room window. There was some kind of machine that kept turning on periodically waking me up. As a result I’m very tired and sleepy now.
- 5/5
The professional and friendly nature of the front desk at check in was great. The hotel is also conveniently located to everything NYC
- 5/5
We were upgraded to silver without even asking and the balcony in room 1212 was a pleasent surprise. The staff was so kind. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Efficient. Franklin offered to help us rebook in the future. Will stay there again.
- 2/5
The water in the shower doesn’t get hot. It’s barely warm and doesn’t properly drain. The hotel was not clean.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, very friendly and attentive!
- 5/5
Great staff, spacious room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and great shower fixtures.
- 5/5
Great room , perfect location
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, and great location.
- 2/5
Mattress was extremely soft and provided no support. Heard every honking car outside throughout the night. We were supposed to receive a text when our room was ready but it never came. Some staff wore politically hateful pins which would alienate many guests.
- 5/5
Simple stylish. Close to everything we went for staff was great and SO friendly between PHD and the hotel. The club security guys were honestly a highlight of our trip. We felt really welcome.
- 5/5
great room great location super close to subway
- 4/5
Everything was good
- 1/5
The only thing accurate about this hotel is the location. It’s a great location with many transportation and entertainment options surrounding it. Every thing else was inconsistent and below average. The rooms were not as advertised and the bathroom felt as if it was never cleaned. I sadly now have a foot infection which is super painful and scary that i didn’t have before I arrived. The staff quoted my group different prices for incidentals different from the website. Also the rooftop lounge was always booked for a private event which wasn’t posted anywhere until we tried to walk-in. Overall i don’t think the pros out weight the cons. Please don’t let the allure of the location and outdated room photos suck you in. Not worth the price.
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly welcome.
- 2/5
Room was located right next to construction that was relentless 7:30 am - 6:00 pm
- 5/5
Clean room, accommodating staff, great location
- 5/5
Good location
- 3/5
The reason this is 3 stars is because the room only had a room darkening shade over the window and there was a light gap. There was an animated billboard outside of the window that flashed throughout the night and, unfortunately, the light gap meant that we had a strobe effect throughout the night, which affected our ability to sleep. A curtain over the window would take care of this issue.
- 5/5
We stay at The Dream every time we come to New York. Juan and Edwin are always quick to great us and ask if we need help with anything. Love this place!
- 2/5
No curtains in the rooms furniture in the rooms is tired, elevators very messed up. Overall tired hotel but good service from the staff. Would be an easy fix for them to put in the curtains as light coming through from the billboards is a real problem
- 3/5
Area was perfect. Construction 6am right beside hotel. Rooms tiny and the first room was not even acceptable with tiny bathroom and no counters. Headboards were worn and gross. We were moved to slightly bigger room which was better. Staff was great. Very helpful but will I pay $750 again!!??! No way!!!!!
- 5/5
Affordable clean quiet and safe. Good location!
- 5/5
Staff - desk, cleaning, and door staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Edwin was the door man that helped us several times throughout our 3 day-stay. Thank you to him and everyone at your hotel!
- 5/5
The end.
- 1/5
The room was old/small but fine. I did not expect luxury. However, the blinds are the horizontal wooden planks and outside the window was a giant Times Square Jumbotron with flashing lights. The entire night, the lights from the outside lit up the room - every 30 seconds or so, on and off repeatedly. It was as if someone was coming in and just turning on the lights and off ALL night. It never stopped. In the morning at check out, I told them I did not sleep all night and they mentioned that they get this complaint a lot, but no one does anything. I wrote the Hyatt and they just said they're sorry and they're troubled by the comments of the front desk. Not that they'd do anything about it, not that it was not true, nothing to make it better. Shockingly horrific.
- 1/5
No blinds in room
- 3/5
There was a lot of noise outside Room 1103. There was also a very aggravating noise every 5 minutes coming from the bathroom. Staff was very nice but did not rectify the issues. The hotel is convenient to Broadway theaters and 5th Ave shopping. Serafina Hotel is adjacent to the hotel and their food is delicious. PhD Lounge is on the top floor and has a lively crowd, rooftop balconies with a great view of Times Square, R&B music/DJ, and good appetizers/small plates. However, because of the small rooms and noise in Room 1103 this trip, I don’t think I will stay at this hotel again.
- 3/5
Bellhops were kind & helpful. Rooms are clean, but a bit worn. LOUD at night (thin weird windows) bring earplugs. Walkable to many things. Didn’t appreciate rooftop terrace being advertised & my family couldn’t enjoy (over 21 only) Save money at sandwich shop/market caddy corner from there. Onsite restaurants not great.
- 2/5
However there are serious issues with the rooms: Our first room (618) was TINY; not really suited for 2 people staying more than 1 or 2 nights. But the biggest issue was a horrible smell that was really strong. Housekeeping cleaned again and it helped but just a little. On the 2nd day we figured out it was coming from the headboard! Also, there was work next door and the steel workers started banging and yelling at 7am, and there was an annoying neon sign that flashed light into the room (don't have drapes that cover entire window - just shades that let light in). Asked for a new room. Got a better room (1115) - much more suited to 2 people. Unfortunately the smell was there too! Asked if they could remove the headboard and they said no. Same issue with annoying flashing light coming in through window (we forgot our eye masks, they had 1 to give us). The rooms are not well designed - can tell they were designed by a man as a woman would never make those choices: very little storage, only 1 towel bar right under the sink (not sanitary nor eco friendly), only 1 hook in bathroom, no easily usable shelves in bathroom or other places to store things, shower not fully enclosed and fan barely works, oddly placed sink which minimized space, etc. Great location for our needs though.
- 5/5
Great location and bars
- 1/5
This room was the most I’ve spent on a hotel stay in NYC. The room was small and beat up. There were no amenities whatsoever. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the toilet seat was broken. There was not even a table to set your things down next to the bed. We were shoved back on the first floor without a decent window.
- 5/5
The staff here is absolutely amazing. Especially Juan & Edwin! Always super helpful and kind. Dream is where we like to stay when in Midtown.
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
No fridge, in room coffee makers nor just simple glasses for drinking. Surprised it very barebones
- 3/5
Clean room, the location is great, there was noise from the construction next door at night.
- 3/5
Also - the PHD terrace was just ok. It was definitely a “clubbin” type atmosphere with low quality drinks and drinkware (plastic glasses, etc.). For these price points I’d expect a more elevated experience.

- 5/5
Great location and walking distance between Times Square and Central Park.
- 5/5
Love this hotel and all stuff at Hyatt members
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Great stay!!! Slept like an angel
- 1/5
Room was dirty. Terrible lights come in at night thru the windows while sleeping. Would never stay here again.
- 4/5
Clean room, helpful staff, but lots of yelling on my floor during late night hours. At one point thought it was outside my window but was on the top floor.
- 5/5
Great location without being overly crowded. Wonderful and helpful staff including the great team at the front desk and front door. Rooftop is a great spot to hang… Highly recommended.
- 3/5
The property was fine overall, but nothing particularly special. The biggest downside was the window AC unit—it was quite loud by itself, but when it rained, the sound of raindrops hitting the unit made it hard to sleep. On the positive side, the location was excellent and very convenient for getting around.
- 2/5
Cons: Incredibly noisy 24/7 (sirens, construction, street traffic)—I had to buy earplugs and use a white noise app to sleep. The room had no blackout curtains, so street and morning light flooded in. No basic amenities like a coffee station or mini fridge. The furniture was worn, the carpet heavily stained, and housekeeping inconsistent (a room service tray sat in the hallway for almost two days). Rooms are very small, and the “4-person” room had only two double beds—far too cramped and uncomfortable. For the high nightly rate, the condition of the property was shocking. Pros: Good location—walking distance to shows and restaurants. Beds and linens were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean (though some towels were stained). Overall: The hotel badly needs a remodel and better amenities. I would not stay here again or recommend it.
- 5/5
Clean room and the rooftop bar
- 2/5
For the price we were surprised by the lack of amenities. Our room had no bedside lights. No light over the bed. A basic shower and a fridge. A coffee maker would have been nice. So would curtains-simple blind that did not block out the light. Limited number of ports to recharge our electric items. No coffee maker or snacks in the lobby. Bar was very small with limited seating.
- 4/5
It’s an inexpensive hotel in midtown. It’s perfect.
- 5/5
Close to theaters
- 5/5
The check in and out process was smooth. They had a designated area for early arrival luggage and staff was friendly and quite professional. The room was nicely decorated and was clean all around. The housekeeping staff were excellent and super helpful.
- 4/5
Bathroom lacked proper counter space, and shower soaps didn’t have the best scent.
- 2/5
Too noisy and cramped
- 2/5
• Upon arrival on Wednesday, my colleague and I were told the only restroom available was in the connected restaurant. The restroom was small, unsanitary, and not suitable for changing clothes or handling luggage. • The front desk staff appeared unwelcoming and uninterested in assisting us. • The elevators were extremely slow, to the point where I regularly resorted to taking the stairs to the 7th floor. • At checkout, I was pressured into using what was presented as the hotel’s car service. Without consent, my luggage was placed into an SUV while I was still waiting on my Uber. Only after I was inside the vehicle was I told the ride would cost $97—nearly double my Uber fare. The driver became frustrated when I did not have cash, and when I requested a receipt, I was given an unmarked slip of black paper with no details of the transaction. This felt misleading and unprofessional. The only positive aspect of my stay was the hotel’s location. However, given the issues outlined above, I will not be returning, nor can I recommend this hotel to colleagues or peers. For the price point, the overall experience was unacceptable and at times felt like a scam. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these concerns for future guests.
- 4/5
Great location and friendly staff. There was a smell of cigarette smoke,
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay for exploring NY
- 4/5
good location
- 4/5
On the positive, the bed was super comfy, staff were friendly and check-in.out was easy. The location was also fantastic: Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park Hells Kitchen and Theatre-land were all within a 15 minute walk. It was also very easy to access JFK airport using the nearby Subway.
- 3/5
Great Location. Very Nice Staff
- 5/5
Room size is quaint and limited yet, all other areas were very nice.
- 1/5
Room was clean, however I asked for a quiet interior room and could hear club music and people screaming until at least midnight. Ive stayed here before and there are no quiet rooms. Stay somewhere else if you need sleep like me.
- 3/5
Was over all a great time in NYC the room was a bit dirty and beat up. I reserved a different room, they said they upgraded me but I think they actually down graded me
- 3/5
Furniture is worn down.
- 4/5
Great location, very clean with great service I was disappointed not to have a fridge or coffee maker.
- 1/5
When asked front desk at checkout, claimed a “service fee” and i would be refunded some of the money. Both fees and internet were supposed to be covered, but was charged at check in. Do not go here.
- 5/5
The rooftop lounge is a great place for drinks. Room was nicely appointed, bed and bedding were excellent, loved the all-marble bathroom. The staff were very helpful and friendly. One issue I encountered: the restaurant downstairs, Serafina, is supposed to be open for breakfast and provide room service to the hotel, but they never answered their phone. That's not the hotel's fault, but I wouldn't rely on that amenity.
- 5/5
Very nice people there. Rooftop beautiful.
- 5/5
Very convenient location, clean rooms, nice staff
- 5/5
Everything was excellent: easy check-in and check-out, modern, well-appointed room, friendly and efficient staff, and a location that cannot be beat if like me you are oriented toward Carnegie Hall and Lincoln center.
- 1/5
Called as they the body wash was empty. I one answers front desk and housekeeping goes to VM
- 5/5
Awesome staff all around! Great customer service and very clean! Highly recommend!
- 3/5
The hotel room was small, but ok. There is no mini fridge or drinking water in the room. You have to go to the lobby to request water. The elevators are super slow and you need to tap your card multiple times before it goes to your level. The pillows were lumpy but the bed was fine. For a destination hotel, it lacks in comparison to other hotels.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Ideal location for central park and Broadway
- 2/5
The property was under construction and it was so loud we
- 5/5
Everything was great. The only complaint involves the bathroom mirror. It did not put out near enough light. Was almost impossible to see to shave.
- 4/5
The friendliness of the staff especially the bellman who helped us with the luggage and was extremely kind and helpful
- 5/5
All the staff on July 25-26 were excellent! They made our stay pleasant. We have a favorite spot now 🙂
- 4/5
The hotel was great my only issue is the lights in the room and bathroom were to dim!
- 5/5
Great facilities and GREAT location.
- 3/5
I liked that it was walking distance to many bars and restaurants
- 3/5
My room was on floor 1, which was louder than expected due to traffic. It may be worthwhile to inform those guest that would be on floor 1, especially if they are light sleepers like myself. The lack of sleep made it challenging to be focused at the work event I was in the city for.
- 5/5
The location
- 4/5
I realize this is not the problem of the hotel itself, and luckily, we were out a good bit during the day.
- 5/5
Great
- 2/5
Upon check in we went to our room. Came back down to ask for one we saw that was more like what i ordered online. The concierge lady said we spent 30 minutes in our room its considered occupied and cannot switch it. She then corrected herself when I gave her a room we saw walking back down, first she said thats not what I ordered then she politely said Im sorry that is what you ordered. But because we were in the room 30 minutes (more like 15) she was unable to switch. The view was of another window 2 feet away. The size was half of what i ordered. The toilet broke. The windows were dirty. I just felt gross and claustrophobic as I walked in. My daughter and I both said its one night. Would not stay again.
- 3/5
We stayed for two nights in july and half of the time AC was not working. Very convenient location and comfortable room.
- 3/5
For whatever reason the AC wasn’t really working in the room. That is the only issue. Staff was nice and apologetic. Will be back to see if it was a fluke.
- 1/5
old noisy
- 2/5
Very disappointing
- 5/5
All very nice! But I wish they would release the fish in the tank😂
- 4/5
Air conditioners went out in the middle of the night and they had to bring fans but otherwise it was great.
- 5/5
Excellent location, courteous and helpful services, clean and very amenable rooms. Excellent stay. Loved it!
- 5/5
Very affordable. Room was very small but clean.
- 2/5
The location is very good. Staff are very friendly. The rooms are extremely small, half the size of a cruise ship cabin. Felt like a hostel. Very depressing and could not wait to leave the room. It's very small with small window facing an abandoned building. The rooms should be merged 2 in one.
- 1/5
The room was very musty and dark. The furniture scratched and old. No Sun no view. It’s not worth the price! It felt like a motel not a hotel. Very disappointed
- 5/5
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Dream Hotel, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, the feeling of safety and security was evident, providing a strong sense of comfort during my trip. The hotel staff were outstanding. Their friendliness and exceptional level of service made my stay even more enjoyable. Each staff member was polite and went above and beyond to be helpful, addressing my needs with efficiency and a genuine smile. A special highlight of my visit was an engaging conversation with one of the workers who had just finished a shift. They shared intriguing stories about the hotel's history, offering a unique glimpse into its past. It was wonderful to hear such passion and knowledge from someone who clearly loves their job. Overall, The Dream Hotel offers a perfect blend of safety, excellent service, and a captivating historical atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and look forward to my next stay.
- 5/5
Great spot in midtown and not over priced
- 4/5
Wonderful hotel, friendly and helpful staff - excellent location , spectacular sun roof bar
- 4/5
Great location off Broadway.
- 4/5
There was a step ip to the bathroom that was a tripping hazard - especially at night
- 4/5
Would stay again. It’s a renovated old hotel, done well. Room was very nice. Lighting is terrible. Zero lighting around the bed? So unable to read anything. All in all a convenient hotel with nice amenities and. Fun rooftop bar
- 5/5
Lovely Hotel with great amenities. Front, Elevator and Bell Staff were wonderful. Kudos to Kofi at the front desk!!! He took very good care of my husband & I for his birthday. Thank you Kofi.
- 3/5
Small rooms. Small elevators but good central location on manhattan
- 2/5
Staff friendly, but dim lighting in room, no water glasses, no coffeemaker, bright flashing smoke alarm on ceiling all night long. NO COFFEE MAKER! At this price, the omission is really bad.
- 5/5
Excellent location , attention by staff great
- 5/5
The hotel had plenty of dining options within walking distance. The subway was close by as well.
- 2/5
So much wear and tear on the fixtures and furnishings. Will not stay again and will not recommend.
- 5/5
Excellent front desk staff (Mike, Yolanda, Gustavo) plus Kevin at concierge. Clean room, very nice bathroom, comfy clean bed. Loved my stay, 5 out of 5 overall.
- 1/5
The WiFi did not work. Two elevators were broken. There is a night club on the roof. The one working elevator was used to user club goers and not hotel guests. I was also not informed at check in that my room was directly under the dance floor. So I had zero sleep. When asking the front desk about this they didn’t care.
- 4/5
Staff at hotel extremely helpful. Location is good and not too noisy. Would stay there again
- 1/5
Room was booked under Andrew Jeune and the front desk staff member allowed for someone else to check into the room without proper authorization or name being added by the primary booker which is not hotel standard or protocol. Was left no choice but to book an additional room due to the room being occupied by someone else they allowed access to Chris Garcia which was not even registered to the room.
- 2/5
Property was old and construction was going on all day long. There were no curtains, just pull shades so it was bright in the room at night.
- 2/5
I needed to cancel my room for one of the nights. Hotel.com said Hyatt needed to approve. Hyatt said they would not. I have stayed there multiple times for work and will now be finding another hotel for my upcoming monthly trips.
- 5/5
Arrived late on morning of 6/10 at 430 am. The front desk people were great.
- 3/5
Room is quite small . Room price is fair to NYC however Although I paid fully on the app including taxes … we had to pay extra 80$ upon checkout for fee charges and tax which dint make sense .
- 3/5
Rooms are small and propery is dated. Conveniently located near Central Park and time square and other attractions
- 3/5
Great location, staff and service. Clean and nice atmosphere. Thzt said, I was not informed until I checked in, that there was high decible jack hammering construction going on righ outside my window that was scheduled from 8am to 5pm everyday. - I could see this has been going on for weeks, and it would have been a nice courtesy to let me know this. It was impossible to sleep through as the room was shaking combined with a deafining noise. In fact it was so loud I couldn't hear the TV in my room. - Four what I paid for the room, this was a huge dissapointment.
- 3/5
One elevator most of the time for the entire hotel. No electric outlets in the bathroom. Room is Very basic ... How this hotel has 4 starts is puzzling.
- 5/5
Location, rooftop bar, and the service was great.
- 4/5
Great location, very convey
- 1/5
So many midtown NYC hotels are like this. Grimy, small, unreliable, smelly, dilapidated etc. The mindset is "well, it's New York!" or that you should be grateful to have anything at all. It's bonkers. No fridges, No Ice, No gym, front desk workers that get mad at you for asking for help. Small rooms. Beds that are chipping and falling apart. Mildew filled shower curtains. Windows that look out to the side of a building. Thin walls. The worst part was elevators that don't work. Climbing a tiny staircase up 9 flights wasn't exactly my idea of hospitality worth paying for. I wish I had a refund but don't like being a Karen. I guess I'll just type about it. Horrible hotel.
- 3/5
Great midtown location.
- 4/5
Central location near Times Square and Broadway, great breakfast restaurant attached and interesting roof bar
- 5/5
Enjoying stay
- 3/5
I hd booked two rooms for two people, they were 5 floor apart despite my initial request they be together . Room was small, i had a view if the dirty alleyway. The bed faced directly at the door, it was creepy and uncomfortable. No amenities. No coffee maker in room or no free coffee in lobby, no water in the room, shower was barely flowing. For one night it was doable. Anymore than that i wouldn't recommend it!
- 2/5
Extremely noisy in room facing road even after construction stopped.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay there again!!
- 4/5
Staff is very friendly. Great location, near Times Square, Carnegie Hall and a number of good delis and diners.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Employees were friendly and helpful. My only negative were the hallway lights were not very bright. I would definitely stay there sgain
- 5/5
Great location, beautiful rooftop bar. Very helpful staff, especially at the front desk
