Reviews
The hotel is praised for its central location and cleanliness, with friendly and helpful staff. However, some guests found the rooms to be small and the elevator to be very tight. There were also some issues with temperature control in the rooms.

- 5/5
The staff was friendly and it was an adorable place. No need to bring soaps they have them It is a small place. That is the only fault
- 5/5
Room was small, but worked perfectly fine for a quick stay. Clean room and lobby. Decent sized bathroom and shower. The staff was very nice, efficient and accommodating. They upgraded us to a larger room, which ended up being convenient to have the extra bed. It’s located nearby Times Square and walkable to many nearby restaurants, bars, and subways. Would recommend for price, location, and a quick stay as a solo traveler or a couple.

Only 4 blocks Away Times Square, Madison Garden, & Subway entrances. Room for 5 had 2 queens & Bunk beds. They even gave us 4 Free waters in mini Fridge. Will Stay here in future. The Elevator is VERY SMALL For 2 people only. In Garment District with Post office & Dress shops down 38th st. Central Park is 14 blocks away or one stop on subway.

Walkable to Times Square, food, shops, and subway. Limited amenities but worked for a place to stay…we didn’t spend much time in the room other than to sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful.

For the location and the size of the room, we have 5 people and could really sleep more than that), it was great. Worth the value. Everything works. No frill. Beds aren't that comfortable, it's a metal frame so it makes noise when you move and the mattresses are kind of thin so.. but we were there for only 2 nights and really was just a place to sleep and use the shower. It works wonderfully for us. We would stay again.
- 2/5
The Downsides * It was loud. At least I got to hear my neighbors "having fun." Several times. * The shower flow went directly into the hot water control on the shower. So every time you try to get wet, you are threatened with a potential assault. * It was dark - I swear the sun came out when I was in NYC - I just could not tell from this room. * The AC was fairly bipolar The Upsides * The staff was friendly * It's in a great location for all midtown activities.

The room was very clean in the experience of very well I like how the staff communicated if I needed room service and got that within the half an hour. I would definitely recommend staying there again there is nothing I do not like
- 1/5
the room is extremely noisy from both the streets and other guests in the building you can’t get any sleep. expect to hear everyone and everything. water heater doesn’t work. for the price you pay it’s not worth it at all.
- 5/5
Staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were very clean, and it was in a great location. When we got there, they had a bigger room open, so they upgraded us for free. I would stay here anytime.

I enjoyed my stay. I especially liked the late checkout.

Very good location. Right on 38th street. So easy from penn station as well as time square to walk. Room size is small but that is expected in NY city. Staff were helpful. No complains considering price. Target on 42 nd street close to get anything you need to buy.
- 4/5
Just blocks from anywhere you want to see as a traveler. The room we received was nothing like the pictures I saw when booking and super small, but they were clean and the beds comfortable.

Great location in the Garment District and blocks from Penn/Moynihan Hall as well as Metro stops. Friendly staff. Elevator. Tiled bathroom, water-saving toilet, and excellent showerhead. Good lighting. Extra-long beds (twin) as advertised. Gave us a to-go snack bag when we checked out (a first)! No complaints.

A small but clean room. The location is great with easy access. Exactly what we were looking for. It took a long time for the shower to get hot, but it eventually did. For the $300 we paid, I’d say the value was solid. I’d likely spend a little more to stay someplace nicer if I were staying multiple days in a row, but we just used the room for sleeping and cleaning up one night. All in all, I wouldn’t mind staying here again.

The hotel is pretty much central to everyting including restaurants, bars, Penn Station, Broadway shows, etc.. The subway will get you pretty much everywhere else. The check-in process was fast and easy. The room was large enough to fit 5 people. The shower water was hot and had excellent pressure. They gave us 2 towels per person which was a huge bonus. The beds were really comforatble and we slept well. The whole experience was excellent. I have no feedback.

No air-conditiing that worked, no working hot water. Floor riped up and galling apaprt all over. And the WIFI sucked
- 4/5
Room was nicely updated. Beds were small and uncomfortable though. You could see light coming in from around the door that led to the hallway- as a result, you could clearly hear everyone walking by. VERY small elevator. The hotel was very convenient to everything in the Times Square area though!
- 3/5
Room, although very small, was fine for a stay two people who went to shows, ate, and then needed a place to sleep. Next day - same thing. The Television was very underwhelming. One channel and the remote only worked if you stood by the tv ... otherwise, you had to like one channel tv.

Clean room and nice location
- 5/5
We don’t have heater but also didn’t ask for heater also so was not a big problem
- 1/5
So hot even with the air on, hair stuck to the bathroom walls and floor, so loud all night - but worst was the staffs response to an issue I raised. The bathroom window wouldn’t lock and I was on the first floor with a landing outside the window. I asked if I could switch rooms because of this and the male staff member made me follow him in the room for him to look at it. I was alone and am female and didn’t feel safe going in with him but he continued to ask me to come in and look at it with him, even though he couldn’t lock it either. He asked why it mattered. Then after putting me in a new room he again asked me to come in with him to try that one out. Then after getting him out and into the new room, an hour later a woman came banging on the door saying she needed me to open the door so she could test the window. Awful experience and awful night. The woman at the desk when I checked in and out was the only good part of the experience as she was helpful and quick. Expedia helped me cancel my second night!
- 5/5
Fabulous family sized room, especially for new York! Very clean, well stocked bathroom. Wish we'd stayed longer. Great price, highly recommend for a family of 5
- 5/5
Small, but bunk beds were nice for our kids and staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Everything was great. Cleanliness, staff, shops, etc…
- 5/5
It was the perfect location to MSG and times square. Trains near by, lots of places to eat and shop. Loved it. Cute hotel. Will stay again
- 5/5
This property its in the best location walking distance to everything pier for the water taxi to new Jersey and statue of liberty, bus, train, times square places to eat. Rooms were clean tidy the place smelled nice, comfortable beds has the best night sleep the room had a fridge, air con and a heater. The staff were friendly too. I would 100% stay here again definitely worth the money
- 5/5
We arrived to the hotel, hot and tired. We got to our room and couldnt find how to turn on ac. My husband called and right away David came upstairs to check in our room. We did not have an AC. He made arrangements got a similar room with an AC. We needed it since the weather was warmer than expected. Someone was always at the desk to help. The hotel was 4 blocks away from subway and walking distance of iconic landmarks such as Times Square and Rockefeller Center. There were tons of food areas to check out. If your looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. If your looking for a quiet room to come back to, decompress, wash up and sleep until your next nyc adventure, this is it.
- 5/5
Staff were very nice, great location and several food options nearby.
- 2/5
Room was a lot smaller than it looked online. Beds were not comfortable. Tiny thin mattress and tiny thin towels. No ice or water fill stations. Issues with the door locking and came back to our door ajar. It was an affordable room and served its purpose but if you’re used to the amenities of a regular hotel of normal standards this is not the place for you. I will say it was a great location to get to time square and surrounding areas and the staff was very nice. Just felt like the space was very cramped and low quality.
- 5/5
The room was spotless and very clean. It was perfect! The staff was friendly and very attentive.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and attentive, we loved the farewell treats when we checked out
- 5/5
Habitación muy cómoda y agradable. El servicio fue excelente y su servicio de transporte hasta el EWR fue puntual y seguro.
- 3/5
The room was clean but the shower was very close to the wall so we’re not fully under the water. Room was small but does the job for a short stay! It was nice and warm and they provide air conditioning unit and fan in the room, but we did not use.
- 3/5
The room was very clean and staff was helpful. The only issue we had was not being able to check in until 2 hours after the posted check-in time, which was slightly frustrating when traveling across the country with children.
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent! Great staff, super clean, roomy bathroom, great location. We are a family of 4, 2 of which are adult children and stayed in the queen with bunk beds and we had plenty of room.
- 3/5
The room key for some reason kept stop working. Had to go to the front desk 3 times for new keys.
- 5/5
Staff was nice. Room was clean
- 5/5
Room was small, but that is expected for New York. Staff was super friendly, and the location was very convenient. Close to two subway stations and a short walk from Times Square.
- 5/5
Convenience of the location
- 5/5
No issues. Smooth check in. Price is affordable. Room just right for my families needs. Bed comfortable. Near where we want to be…Macy’s, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Hidson Yards, etc.
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff, great luggage storage option

Love the decor. Reminded me of a European flat. Clean and staff nice. Perfect for 2 people.
- 5/5
Staff was very kind

Had an excellent stay
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was as expected. Bed was comfy. Loved the location very convenient to everything. Would stay there again
- 4/5
Good for price, clean, nice people
- 5/5
Love the room
- 2/5
Typical budget NYC “hotel”. Just a collection of tiny rooms with a front desk. This is not to disparage the place. For ~200 bucks in NYC this is typical. Upside is private en suite bathroom. Sets this apart from a hostel.
- 5/5
The room exceeded my expectations. Spacious, clean and modern
- 4/5
The room was very clean and was perfect for what we needed.
- 1/5
Dirty floor and poor condition..
- 4/5
The hotel is plain and what you would expect for the price. Compared to other more expensive hotels in the area, it is up to you if you are on a budget and you don't mind sacrificing a bit of comfort. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
The room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. The room was cleaned daily. Staff was friendly at the front desk.
- 5/5
Small and clean room in convenient location. Simple and effective for a good night's rest.
- 5/5
Room was nicer and bigger than expected.
- 1/5
No heat in the room. No thermostat. 33f degrees outside. I was freezing all night. Terrible experience.
- 3/5
We didn't get the room that I had chosen
- 3/5
Ok
- 3/5
Guy who helped on night of checking in was not pleasant. Wasn’t welcoming or showed that he was happy to do his job. It’s not like we had any questions or kept our checking in longer, other than letting him know the name at check in. Gave it an extra star only because of the guy at check out the next day. He was more friendly and actually smiled. We can tell he was happy to be at work.
- 4/5
Room was tidy, but small. So was the elevator and hallways. Not much space besides the twin beds in my room. A little stuffy as well with only a small a/c unit. Staff was friendly! Overall, would recommend for a quick stay in the city.
- 3/5
Nice
- 5/5
It is fine but not worth the cost
- 5/5
Good location, close to everything and there are several food spots around. Small place and room, but it is a huge city, it is kind of expected. Good price.
- 3/5
I did not like it but it was my fault I did not research for hotels any longer
- 4/5
The hotel was small as were the rooms which is typical of older hotels, but the staff were attentive, the rooms were clean, and the location was safe. The rooms have been updated with contemporary decor and have typical amenities of any room -digital TV, wireless, comfortable beds (we had a twin room), good lighting, new bathroom fixtures, fridge, and coffee maker. I would classify this hotel as a good value.
- 4/5
Room was clean, but small, great location, WIFI was very spotty
- 1/5
Could not adjust the heat in my room and it was cold. Overheard others complaining about the same problem. Very loud from both outside and inside the hotel.
- 4/5
Hallways are a little small
- 4/5
Clean room, pleasant staff
- 5/5
Room is small but great, kind of expected in a city. It is clean and great location. Good services and stores around.
- 5/5
The room was adorable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
A bit warm the window aircon. Great location.
- 5/5
Solid spot if staying for a night or two
- 5/5
Great location, nice room for a family of 5 - it's great to have a separating door between the 2 rooms
- 4/5
The property was compact and space was limited we stayed 3 days. The property was clean and staff accommodating
- 4/5
I was a bit disappointed when 1st walking in to the very narrow , tiny old lobby. But the front desk gal was great. Very welcoming and helpful. The elevator is tiny as are the halls. My room was fine, clean and functional except air conditioner, which was way up on top by the ceiling. I had to get a chair to turn it on and off! The 2 windows were tiny and blacked out. The price stay was too high though. The hotel was convenient to MSG, Macy’s and Penn Station, which was what I wanted
- 3/5
Nice for what you pay, decent nothing interesting to say. If you just need a place to sleep, this is good.
- 4/5
It's a good place to stay if you plan on being out and about in the city - very small, not conducive to hanging out in your room. It met all of my basic needs and served its purpose. I would stay again. My only caution is that if you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. The elevator is VERY small.
- 3/5
The room was Ok, but there was a powerful smell of chlorine, and the noise of the air conditioning interrupted sleep.
- 3/5
Honest review, I was skeptical about staying at this hotel from the ither reviews Ive read but for the price and the area it did the job. We arrived on the Amtrak at Penn station NYC, it was literally an 8 min walk straight up the block from the train station. Its a little hole in the wall that can be easily missed but you can find it. From Doxie hotel it was about 11 min walk, From Doxie to Rockerfeller center was like 18 min walk... You are right in the heart of times square. As far as the hotel quality, once you walk in its like a small apartment, clean for the kost part. The staff are very nice and polite no rude attitides from any of the workers we came accross. Walking into the room we had a a standard queen, it had your basics, bed, closet space, desk, mirror, fridge, lock safe, coffee area, bathroom with shower, blow dryer n washing needs. our room had a space for a bunk bed (which we didnt need) but it did give us more space to place our things. we literally were only our room to sleep n shower nothing more nothing less. Now heres the bad part and I knew this from previous reviews i read... But we did encounter a creepy crawler (roaches) we killed one adult roach and seen about 8 baby roaches, they were mainky in the bathroom and came out from the door frame while the shower was running... I checked for hed bugs and did not see any signs of those things thank God because i woulda been outta there. If you choose to stay here just be sure to shake our your luggage.
- 4/5
No frills, small hotel in a very convenient location!
- 3/5
Nice people but hotel was rough. No windows.
- 4/5
Very small rooms but for an overnight it's a good option! Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
I like the set up of the room . Very different and feels cozy
- 5/5
This was a comfortable overnight trip. I will
- 2/5
FYI: This is a very small, unassuming hotel that was hidden behind side walk scaffolding. It has more of a hostel feel than a hotel feel. Nonetheless, front desk staff was very nice and efficient in checking us in. The hotel was also very quiet during our stay. The room, on the other hand, was quite dingy and beat up. The window unit a/c also could've used a major cleaning. My biggest complaint, the twin beds were so uncomfortable and noisy --- mattresses definitely need to be updated. Also, I appreciate the in-shower soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers, but maybe actually buy brand name and not blank, reusable dispeners? I know that sound nitpicky, but there were two different body washes mixed up in the dispenser. Please understand, this is a budget hotel so you might find people checking in from all walks of life. Sadly, there was one person checking in who must've had an "accident" because the entire front desk area smelled like a bathroom during their check-in.
- 5/5
Hotel is a little hidden and noisy from street traffic but staff is nice and good price on a comfy room
- 3/5
There was a smell in the hallway. It was dinky. Very narrow. The room was sort of clean. No amenities. They did provide us with a charger. The price was too high for the value.
- 3/5
This hotel is very close to MSG, so it is at least conveniently located. It was fine in a pinch. The room was much smaller than I expected. The floors could stand to be cleaner. The bed and pillows were surprisingly great.
- 3/5
The room was very clean - staff got us checked in quickly and we're friendly. The life is tiny and barely fit two of us in with a suitcase and because we were up on the 4th floor it was absolutely roasting hot in our room but thankfully there was an AC unit. The bed was comfy and the toiletries provided were great. There was not storage space however so it was a big of an organised chaos in there and there was no window which was a massive shame for natural light and view. However overall for a 4 night stay the location and price of the hotel was great, you just get what you pay for.
- 4/5
It was perfect for a last-minute trip into the city - inexpensive, good location, clean with nice staff. A good no- frills home base.
- 5/5
Room was very laid out well, bathroom was nice as well, staff was very friendly and funny, and helpful as well. Very great stay for NYC and would recommend to anyone who’s going to stay in NYC anytime.
- 5/5
Very well located, nice and convenient access to all major streets and to port authority. The room was really cool and clean, nice to have coffee maker and small fridge. The personnel were really friendly and professional
- 1/5
that not hotel . that like apartments. too small with price amazing.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, convenient location, rooms small, but nice and recommended
- 4/5
The location if the property was great. Walking distance from Madison Square Garden and Bryant Park. The building was on the older side and the rooms small, but definitely functional and good for a overnight stay.
- 5/5
This was a great option for the price. Location is convenient and it WAS clean. Our room was small and basically windowless, which was fine for a one night stay. Given the scaffolding on the street it was easy to miss the entrance.
- 5/5
It was perfect for my trip with my daughter, can’t get a better location within walking distance to most things we wanted to do, will definitely be my go to whenever I’m in NY again
- 5/5
Small room , good for those who wants to have a place to rest at night .
- 4/5
Walking distance to the time square. Its ok
- 4/5
Small but centrally located
- 4/5
Location is amazing - so close to so many things. Tiny is an understatement. Totally worth it if you're not someone who wants to hang out in the hotel.
- 3/5
Very cramped, the room was very outdated and tv barely worked. The building just looks sketchy compared with other hotels. If you just need a quick stay at a buck, this is it.
- 1/5
The hotel was centrally located with great connections to the transit system.
- 4/5
Food options was amazing just right downstairs from the hotel, the only bad thing was the elevator was the size of a broom closet, could barely fit three people.
- 2/5
Is convenient located, for shopping and restaurants, etc, but, the building is basically for sleep, rooms are tiny...
- 3/5
Very warm in the room. Only a tiny window A/C unit and it was off when I checked in. Also, very thin mattress, not very comfortable. And many of the towels in the room were stained.
- 1/5
Terrible rooms! Won’t recommend the place.
- 3/5
This building is Not ADA.
- 5/5
Stayed here due 4 days and everything was great!!! Room service did not pass for 2 days bit everything else was excellent. The front desk staff were amazing.
- 5/5
Very cute place! Room was nice size for NYC. It is an older building but maintained well. Staff was so friendly and kind, especially Hala and David. Will book again!
- 4/5
The room wasn’t completely clean. There were some stains or marks on the blanket and pillow, and I found hairs in the bathroom and on the floor.
- 5/5
The Doxie has a lot of charm for its very reasonable price. Lots to do in the area, and the A/C kept the room nice and cool despite the sweltering heat. The deadbolt was a bit fiddly - that would be my only complaint. Front desk staff were great, especially David! Would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Clean and safety
- 5/5
Everyone was so nice and well mannered! I'm coming back again for sure!
- 5/5
Great location and the room very clean. The reception was always friendly. I highly recommend it!
- 5/5
The Doxie Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, they stored my luggage for me since I arrived earlier than check in for free. The rooms were super clean! I definitely will be staying there again.
- 3/5
If youre not accustomed to teh area you might miss the entrance however, it was a great value for being so close to MSG and Times Square. Not luxury by any means, but clean efficient and safe. Keep it a secret.
- 4/5
I liked the area and friendly ah staff
- 5/5
Ive stayed here several times never had an issue, staff is great!! I didnt get her name i should have writted it down hands down everytime she has been so pleasant, she is asian decent, she held my bags for me and immediately called me when the room was ready! I didnt have to wait so long!
- 4/5
They were very nice and helpful.
- 4/5
well run, budget hotel, overall good value by NY standards.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
I loved it, I would stay again, very friendly and they let us leave our bags after checking out while our flight left
- 5/5
Doxie was a quick, one-night stopover spot for us - flying from Portland, OR to Barcelona. Wanted to show my son a tiny slice of NYC, and this hotel was a great spot to land for a 36hr run about the city. Simple entry down a skinny hall to a small check-in desk and a cramped elevator ride up might give you the idea that you'll be disappointed. But the room was a very nice size, updated and modern, and clean & nicely equipped. No window views, or fancy amenities - but if you want a comfortable, clean place to lay your head while you spend most of your time out exploring, this is an excellent choice! Perfect midtown location, and very nice staff.
- 5/5
Great location for a Broadway show. I stayed one night and the room was perfect for that. The building was easily accessible good location and the bathroom was clean and bright. Recommend for a short day.
- 5/5
Had all the necessities
- 5/5
We stayed for 3 nights and I dont care what other people says I love this place its perfect location. My first concern was security. But it turns out its pretty safe. and to me Its pretty clean. Staff are very friendly and very helpful also the best part you can leave luggage ahead of your reservation with no extra fee. The $100 deposit was automatically refunded soon as we checked out. The restaurant just next door is also pretty convenient and tasty love that pork chop noodles. Thank you Doxie! I'll be back next year for the NY Autoshow. btw. If going to statue of liberty buy the ticket online battery park is surrounded by scammers I was physically prevented from entering.
- 5/5
The guy and lady who helped us on june 5th thursday were great help and really nice. They were nice enough to lets us leave our bags there to explore new york. they even let us check in early. Great hotel for teens under 21 looking for a spot to stay.
- 4/5
Rooms were bigger than some other people I traveled with who stayed in other hotels.
- 5/5
Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Location was close enough to easily walk to Times Square, Broadway theaters, restaurants, etc.
- 5/5
This is our go-to hotel when visiting NY. Location is this place's best attribute. Times Square is just a few blocks away, near the tour bus stops, and offers a variety of dining options.
- 3/5
stay was ok, even though from outside does not look as a hotel, rooms were nice although very small but were nice, my only bid disappointment was internet speed was very slow, I could not work, so this is not a good option if you go to NYC on a business trip, also when I received my room (after 4 pm) I just got in to drop my luggage and leave but there was a terrible smell, I was surprised since room looked very clean and if it was just made up, but when I came back at night I noticed someone had use the toilet before I got in the room, i found a used hand towel left on the sink and I saw the tolet paper was used that explained the terrible smell, I am sure that if I got into the room may be 10 mins earlier I found someone in the bathroom
- 5/5
Perfect location, AC worked great, hot shower, and very clean!
- 3/5
That's pretty good it's not exactly what I thought it was but pretty good that is super comfortable small rooms real small butt it's a location the people that work there pretty nice and the location is more or less good 8th Avenue is not the best around but the hotel is pretty nice

Average old NYC building converted into a hotel. Location is great. We had to put the minifridge infront of one of the vents because people in the other room could see into ours. We could hear them clearly as well. Windows do not lock properly and lead to a roof thus anyone could break into the room. Don’t think it is worth what we paid for the night. They exchange a “gift” for 5-star reviews which is maybe why we picked it.

Doxie was great! Felt super clean which is most of what I’m looking for. Bathroom was lovely as well. We had two twin beds, one was fine but mine was broken. Tried to move it thinking maybe the floor was uneven but definitely seemed like more of a mattress/ bed issue. Otherwise great and easy!

Great location and service from the Doxie team. Beds were a little firmer than anticipated, but overall very happy with our stay. Perfect for a weekend getaway and grateful our bed request was accommodated. Thank you!

Basic accommodation, not fancy in any way. Great service.

Had roches in the room, didn't get much sleep,

Good value

Old, no A/C, beds old and unconfortable.

It felt very niche

Which a quirky little place and it was perfect for us! We had a great time and staff was excellent.

Great hotel, wonderful location!

Comfy beds

A hidden jewel in the middle of Time Square.

Excellent location and great for the price. I particularly enjoy having a private bathroom. It would be great if the entry had a ramp for the luggage; it can be challenging if you are coming in with a large or multiple suitcases
- 5/5
Good location close to everything, staffs are accommodating, no windows and exhaust for bathroom

Some people taken party after midnight.

Nice clean hotel. Close to MSG. Great for a quick trip. Would definitely stay again,

Great place to stay with a family-close to theatres. Affordable.

It's definitely a small hotel. You can't quite tell from photos what the size of the rooms are like. No windows that provide a view - you're very much boxed in. There was a small window in the room that had textured glass you couldn't see through. A LOT of road/outside noise throughout the night. It was hard for us to get enough hot water to take showers. Sometimes there was hot water, and sometimes there wasn't. Room was clean, and staff were all very nice and friendly!

We had no hot water the first night. Rooms are extremely small. It was very clean, but Very disapointed over all.

Was such a hidden treasure, it’s not what you expect from the outside but the rooms and service are amazing. They are great at accommodating all your needs and would recommend anyone visiting New York to stay here. The rooms are clean and crisp sheets bathrooms are beautiful. Thank you for such a great experience. Was such a great price to top it all off. Will be back again ❤️

Big enough for our family of 5 (Two Queens and a bunk bed). No closets for our luggage and when we ate in the room, we sat on our beds. The elevator was tiny, but usable (Squished 5 of us in there once, but from then on, we mostly just used the stairs). Close to everything, which was great! Front end staff was hit or miss on their congeniality.

It was the cheapest option available. We wanted walking distance from Penn. This place had everything we needed. Rooms were clean and the beds comfy. We stayed 2 nights. House keeping did an amazing job. Front desk very friendly.

The reason I've given 4* rather than 5* is related to safety. The reception staff should ask for some sort of proof of residence (show the keycard, say which room number, etc) as the elevator/stairs don't require a card and thus anyone can walk in and up to the room doors which made me nervous.
- 3/5
The property is ok for short stays it's very small and not too cool if you need ac and could be too closed in for others in the summer or winter but it's nice for a short stay

it's more like a hostel than hotel picture very deceptive

My stay at the Doxie hotel was only meant to be functional. I didn't really mind that the room was in relatively shabby condition, with very tired and worn paint, chipped furniture, no window and a generally depressing atmosphere. I was there to sleep and to be in the area for work early the next morning. What I DID mind was the fact that, on top of all of this, the water in the shower only ever got luke warm. After 15 minutes of running the water on the hottest possible setting, it's insult to injury to have to take a luke warm shower after a very disappointing stay in general. Unacceptable. Avoid.

On our second night of our stay, when my daughter was getting ready to go on the top bunk the top portion of the bunk bed collapsed. The bunk beds did not seem to be stable at all. My family was relocated to another room in the middle of the night. I feel like we should have been offered some sort of compensation or a discount on our stay. Unfortunately we never got a word from the hotel manager.

Close to everything in New York on foot. Couldn’t figure out the heat situation to have the room comfortable so had to have the window open.
- 4/5
It's a nice place.
- 4/5
Location is excellent easily connected by road and rail to other areas.
- 3/5
The only perk is the location. Room was teenie and doors don't latch - came back and the room was completely open.

The hotel is not as nice as it seems from the pictures. The room itself is NY small, but adequate. The bathroom doubles the size of the space. While the bathroom is considerably nicer than the bedroom the water temperature fluctuates constantly and at best gave me 5 minute of hot shower. The bed is not particularly comfortable and almost as thin as the walls. Definitely the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I could hear the person next door tapping her razor on the sink as if she was next to me in my bed, kind of alarming. At least it was clean…

I wouldn’t stay here again. On a solo trip, I got “upgraded” from a queen to a room with 3 twin beds because they were overbooked. The towels weren’t fully clean, the room was very noisy, and the temperature control didn’t work. It technically is a place to stay but you can do so much better for the price.

We came for a girls trip to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We got upgraded to a suite which was unexpected but the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. The location was perfect and we were able to see all the sights we wanted. We would definitely stay here again!!

Booked a single room with Queen bed but was given a room with 3 beds (upgrade?). Overall it was pretty good for the price. Heard some live music from the bar next door, but didn't bother me too much.
- 2/5
I should have realized that's why I was a lot cheaper than most hotels in the area
- 2/5
It is a very tiny and cheap hotel. The room looked almost like a prison cell. You get what you pay.
- 4/5
Comfy too
- 4/5
The hotel was what I expected traveling on a budget. It had everything you'd expect but not much comfortable. One thing that threw me off a little was the shower: besides not having a full "door" or curtain, I don't know why I couldn't get the water hot, but maybe that's just a me problem.
- 4/5
A bit small but it has everything
- 4/5
Great place... management should work on their staffs and improve that ;)
- 2/5
Absolute terrible water pressure. Area isn’t clean and is loud. The room itself was ok, really small. Elevator was also really small
- 3/5
there was a space heater to heat the room. 4 windows, but all over frosted over or boarded up.
