Reviews
The hotel staff is generally friendly and helpful, but the surrounding area is consistently described as unsafe, dirty, and unappealing. The hotel itself is often described as clean and comfortable, but some guests have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance. The shuttle service to the airport is appreciated, but its reliability is questioned.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Unsafe and unappealing surrounding area
- Unreliable shuttle service
- 4/5
The staff was great helpful and friendly the area around the hotel was not bad wasn’t the best but the hotel itself was good and I said the staff was really wonderful
- 2/5
We chose this hotel because of the free shuttle service to Fed. Cir., which worked well--friendly driver. The hotel itself is situated in a ghetto-looking neighborhood with graffiti, noise (deafeningly-loud rap music blasting from car being repaired outside hole-in-the-wall garage), and garbage-strewn streets. I realize that prices are higher in NYC, but for the $120.00 price range, we were expecting more. Walls inside and out of the rooms need paint over spackling repairs--shabby appearance overall. Service is par for fast-paced (little-time-for-you) NYC--not what we experienced in the Azores just before arriving at JFK on our trip--sharp contrast. Needing bottled water and vending machine in hotel not working, we walked (at night) two blocks to gas station/convenience store with bars on window and no inside access. (That probably says something about safety in this area.) On the way, we passed what we thought was a dead body on the sidewalk--slight movement indicated it was an alive homeless person sleeping on sidewalk. We did not feel safe in this area. Breakfast was included, but sparse selection. Maybe it's just NYC, in general, that made us feel uneasy, but we did not feel safe. On our next trip through this airport hub, we hope to find something better to fit our price range. We will avoid this area.

I will never use expedia again. you placed us in the middle of a Mad Max movie!!!!!I have never experienced such a totally bad area. Shame on you!!! You SUCK!!!!!This hotel may as well have been located on the island of Jamaica...after a hurricane!!!!!!
- 2/5
totally disappointing
- 3/5
I liked its convenient location to the airport but found the reception area to be dirty. However my room was fine.
- 2/5
I honestly felt unsafe outside of the property. There was no true parking even though the link said there was. Disappointed.
- 4/5
My stay was a good one. Room was clean and was comfortable.
- 3/5
Instead the hotel is great, no issues whatsoever, staff and service was great, but I couldn't complete my five nights stay there as I wasn't comfortable going outside of the hotel so I had to check out three days early. I requested a refund but nothing yet and I left there from Sept 10.
- 4/5
Comfortable and clean
- 4/5
This hotel was right on par for the $$. It is not located in the best area but was overall good for a short trip. There are several on-site parking spots and the hotel rooms seem to have been recently renovated. I would stay here again as long as the price stays fair
- 3/5
Getting here was difficult. JFK had no "welcome" system. The "link" to hotels did not work. There had been no information in writing that I was not getting the "free airport shuttle" from the airport, but only after taking the airtrain to Federal Circle. After two days traveling, I was exhausted and my phone battery was drained trying to find anyone who could tell me this. Once I connected with the front desk person, I began to see that I could actually get there.
- 2/5
The room was clean but the surroundings was sketchy. The attitude of the staff in answering questions especially the man there in the afternoon attitude was atrocious.
- 1/5
Shuttle service not working, waiting for an hour and did not arrive, finally taking an Uber to go to the hotel. Door did not locked. Bed sheets dirty. Breakfast only a a coffee with a bagel that it. Never come back to this hotel
- 1/5
The night reception staff was horrible.. Very indecent and very bad attitude .. Zero sense of customer service .. Management should lool into this matter ..
- 1/5
There shuttle Van hit my car twice, they charged my card triple took 3 days to refund
- 3/5
The area is very dirty. Metro station is not too far but the way to to the metro station is very sketchy. I would recommend women to stay here alone.
- 3/5
My deposit hasn't been returned and dealing with the staff when you call the hotel is horrible. They are rude.
- 1/5
Morning receiptioninst with pulled up black hoodie was rude and unhelpful.
- 4/5
Overall. I enjoy my stay. And will definitely choose this hotel again.
- 1/5
Location is untidy, the staff was not professional, complained about my key not working and my room left unlock after cleaning and a guy at the front desk was more concerned about how i asked the question and seriously insulted me. Not recommended.
- 5/5
Service was great
- 3/5
Service desk person was helpful and professional. If you are not travelling by car, this property is recommended as its a great service for the cost.
- 1/5
Nothing I like about this property. To be a Wyndham chain I was expecting more. The conditions of the location is horrible. Its in an abandoned location . Nothing except old vehicles park all area the property. Its 4 miles from the airport or 20 drive. Paking is like maybe 5 vihicle. I don't understand why would the rating been that high for a deplorable location. Its scary as hell. I felt really unsafe. My door couldnt lock properly. I had to call the front desk and slammed it couple times in order for it to close. Its just a real embarrassment to walk out a property like this... And its a shame Wyndham has its name attached to something like this. My advice NEVER go there.
- 1/5
Reception staff were sloppy and presented themselves poorly. They communicated poorly although they were not actually rude they were far from welcoming. The immediate area surrounding the hotel and the reception were dirty and wrecked cars parked right next3 to the hotel need to be removed. The room itself was clean but the corridors and elevator were not
- 2/5
Area around the hotel is terrible and service is below average. Disappointed to say the least
- 3/5
The area is rough, but I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the room
- 5/5
Front desk staff were very welcoming & helpful. Room was clean & comfortable with amenities we didn't expect like a microwave & fridge. There is a shuttle that runs on the hour back to the airport. Breakfast doesn't start until 7 so if you have an early checkout, you can't take advantage of it which is a shame
- 3/5
It was affordable for a quick sleep. The area itself didn't seem safe. It says parking free there's only about 10 stalls and it doesn't make you feel confident parking as there are a bunch of stripped and abandonned cars right next to the hotel.
- 3/5
This hotel was great in that it had a shuttle to/from JFK airport. I arrived late and left early -- the shuttle driver was very nice and he waited for a passenger whose flight was late. However, the property is not in a very nice area -- rather scary. The bed was fine, but the floor was somewhat dirty. It was also rather loud, both from some people arguing in their room as well as very loud from the street. I am not planning to stay there again.
- 1/5
Was is an unsafe area…my second room did not confirm and I could not stay with 3 adults in one room. I had to book another hotel at the last minute
- 1/5
Probably one of the worst hotel experiences ever. Beware this is one of the worst areas in NYC. Staff is super rude and indifferent. Room had the bathroom flood and all the staff would do is hand us a mop to clean it up. Fridge was leaking water too. Staff would constantly use swear words in their regular vocabulary.
- 4/5
Nice hotel for the price. Shuttle service provided to JFK and free breakfast is a nice perk.
- 2/5
Woke up and the toilet had overflowed during the night. Called for a plunger and never received it. Gross.
- 5/5
Conveniently located. I was so happy to hear that they offer shuttle bus service to JFK AIRPORT.
- 4/5
Continental Breakfast needs improved menu.
- 4/5
The over stay was great
- 1/5
Nothing
- 5/5
Hotel was comfortable.. staff friendly.. just area was a little off.. but other wise everything went well.. will stay again
- 4/5
It's close to JFK and much cheaper than practically any other hotel in the area.
- 3/5
First of all the property is in a terrible neighborhood. Mostly car repair auto glass and other auto repair places. The facility itself is shabby. Breakfast was awful. I would not choose to stay here again.
- 2/5
I would give them 10/10 My bathroom was extremely filthy, feces left in the toilet bowl and the sink was very dirty
- 4/5
Ok for a night or
- 3/5
And The Area Is Very Dangerous
- 3/5
The pre-booked 5am airport shuttle left at 4:50am! Had to scramble to get a taxi!
- 3/5
The room was clean. The location is good for JFK, but is kind of scary. Charged $50 extra to check in 2 hours early. Road noise is loud.
- 5/5
Very clean hotel, although its surroundings are questionable in terms of esthetics.
- 1/5
THIS IS NOT A HOTEL BUT A HOMELESS HOSTEL
- 5/5
Worth the stay . Clean and safe.
- 4/5
N/A
- 1/5
First of all... this property used to be a homeless shelter. Now it's a hotel. Wish I had known this before staying here. Need I say more? No. But I will so that hopefully, nobody else makes the mistake of staying here. The property is next to a car parts lot. Literally in front of the hotel are broken-down cars without bumpers. Next door is a car repair shop. There are car parts, engine oil, and trash all around the property. There are no restaurants in the area, so don't arrive with any expectation that you'll eat around there. The room itself was nice and updated -- but the area is just terrible. I did not even feel safe walking the .5 miles to the Jamaica train station. I booked this because I had a late-night flight into JFK. Never again.
- 1/5
The room was not clean. The nightstand had coffee stains on it. The AC was sooo loud i could not even sleep. And parking was another issue.
- 4/5
Stayed there for price and convenience. The hotel overall is really cleaned compared to the nearby hotels that offer “affordable rates”. You don’t have to worry about stragglers standing around, however it’s near auto body shops. No parking
- 2/5
It is directly next to a junk yard so be prepared to hear work trucks and heavy machinery. The a/c sounds like it will explode if you try using it. It was incredibly hot but turning on the a/c made it impossible to get any rest.
- 1/5
The person in the reception was rude.
- 1/5
Hotel is in the middle of scrap yard, the receptionist was disgusting, very sarcastic, should put that energy in cleaning up the outside, pants was under his bottom and underpants needed a good wash!!! Wouldn’t send my dogs there!!!
- 5/5
Excellent airport hotel, van driver is super nice and friendly. Check in was awesome guy named Ronald or Rolando was the best check in I ever had in any hotel ever, room was perfectly clean.
- 1/5
I did not like anything there.the area the property ..it was a terrible experience.only the guys who worked there are good but anything else was terrible for me and my family
- 3/5
It was ok but would not stop there again scrap yard all down the road
- 5/5
Great place to stay for the night
- 1/5
Bad customer service will never go back there again.
- 4/5
Surrounding needs clean up maybe by the city
- 1/5
Your staff was nasty and terrible area.
- 2/5
Area around the property is very sketchy. The smell of the ‘clean sheets’ made me naseous. Most of the staff was friendly and there’s a shuttle to the airport which is nice.
- 5/5
Too much noise
- 2/5
I hope that they will coordinate it well so to avoid any dooble charging etc. i am just disappointed. The front desk on that night was a young girl that she doesnt even know what to do.. and as for me, i had no other choice but to pay again the charges they made from the hotel because i am so tired and i have to travel again the following day.. i hope they will addressed this matter accordingly...
- 3/5
Small room it was ok for one night
- 2/5
You know the saying you get what you pay for, this could not be more true about this hotel. It is located in a rough area. It’s next to a junk yard, so junk cars and glass are everywhere. The carpets in hallway are stained and dirty, the rooms are in bad condition and dirty as well. The outlet in our bathroom didn’t work at all. There were ants crawling around the ac unit. The halls reek of smoke. The door to our room opened from the outside if you pushed it, while locked. We discovered 2 small door stoppers keeping the room from locking properly. It is near a busy street so you will hear all the traffic. Constant honking and loud music kept me from sleeping. I was given a price through hotels.com, only to be given a different price that was higher when I arrived at hotel. If you are looking for a comfortable stay, I DO NOT recommend staying here!!
- 4/5
It was dirty and no parking you guys should have reserve parking for your customers. More choices for breakfast real fruits 🍉
- 4/5
Everything was okay, except excessive truck noise in early in the morning.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 1/5
The front desk wasn’t polite
- 4/5
Property because car screaprd
- 1/5
The staff was unfriendly and not welcoming. Staff was eating in the front area while training new staff. They over charged me and was not able to resolve my issue while I was on the phone the newly trained staff hung up on me without resolving the issue that she created by charging me extra instead of returning my hold charge. This is unacceptable.
- 1/5
Terrible property. As cheap as it is I can’t believe you can allow people to stay in this property.
- 5/5
Check-in was fast and pleasant. The lady at the counter explains the parking process. Yes there is parking on the premises. Room was beautiful and clean. We got room service through the QR code the hotel give us. I will definitely going back!
- 5/5
Very quiet and clean
- 3/5
The place is excellent for the price and ckise proximity to the airport. I spent a few days there its no Hilton but it was comfortable and safe. Walking distance to shopping area. Safe neighborhood the staff was extremly nice especially the lady in the dining room she was lively and helpful. Good place to stay if you are on a budget.
- 3/5
On a brighter note the guy that checked me in was really nice and super helpful.
- 5/5
Very clean + lovely workers that greeted us welcoming every time we came in the door.
- 1/5
Dirty. Neighborhood is dangerous.
- 3/5
The room was great and very clean but that’s the only good thing we experienced. The hotel staff made us wait nearly 25 minutes to check in as they were on the phone. Instead of helping us one staff member was actually sitting at the front desk eating a burger! They were friendly but very slow. The free breakfast was also awful: only one item was available (bagels) and it was not tasty. Also the entrance was unsightly with carts of junk left both inside and out.
- 5/5
Easy and convenient check-in..HDMI cord for TV inoperable
- 1/5
Poor customer service
- 2/5
nothing
- 1/5
Bad ! I will not recommend this places ever
- 4/5
This hotelm was nice, but it's location, next to a car recovery lot is not ideal.
- 1/5
This place sucks there is no parking whatsoever they advertise free parking but there is no parking industrial Bloc where are you a car will get all the ticketed if you parkway people parking on the sidewalk where u can get ticketed. The front desk people are horrible relation they don’t wanna hear anything you have to say they’re not even trying to help you with the fact that you can’t stay there because of the parking all they about is keeping your money and running not go here ever
- 4/5
First of all, our experience at the hotel was fine once we were inside. The staff was extremely courteous, the elevator, the halls, and the room were clean, and everything was fresh and in its place. The only thing was the number of "totaled" (junked, for parts only) vehicles parked around the property. They will be processed by a parts business that is direct across the front door of the property (and that building could use a coat of paint!) Couple this with the strong sewer smell outside the building and standing water on the side street near the property. Please understand that these comments are meant to be constructive to the local owner of the hotel and Days Inn. These things take away from the hotel's beauty and the hard work of all the employees. I sincerely hope that next time we visit, these things will be in the past!
- 5/5
Mona (the receptionist) was a absolute doll - couldn't help us enough as far as she was concerned. She needs a big time raise & you are very lucky to have her working there ! The area that the hotel is located in is very, very poor ! Outside of hotel was nothing but different junkyards & we just prayed that our car would still be there in morning. If we weren't going to our nieces wedding we would have changed hotels. Mona assured us everything would be safe.
- 4/5
Checking in and out smooth very limited parking unpleasant scenery surrounding hotel
- 1/5
Never again
- 5/5
Stay was good only issue limited parking when I came out in the morning I was blocked in
- 3/5
I haven't had any problem with my stay.
- 4/5
The hotel room was clean.
- 3/5
We made a reservation here when our flight out of JFK was cancelled. When the cab pulled up, we thought we had made a big mistake. However, the front desk clerk was helpful and the rooms were updated and clean. My room had a lot of traffic noise all night.
- 4/5
Room was nice and clean, tv was small but it worked well. Establishment was good so is the staff the only downside is the mechanic shop next door woke me up with their noise. Better to get a room higher up on the side opposite of the shop might help.
- 4/5
My only wish is that it was located in a different area. Any parking there was, was taken up by the collision place and the wrecked cars. . Other than that, the place was nice and clean.
- 4/5
Property was very well located and was very clean. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable
- 4/5
Hotel clean but location not so favorable. Employee was very helpful and attentive.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff very helpful. The area is surrounded by car garages.
