However, the hotel receives consistent criticism for its small, outdated rooms, and some guests have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

The hotel is located right near Columbus Circle and conveniently near everything. The room was nice and clean, and the provided bathroom amenities were wonderful. There is no coffee maker or mini fridge in the room, so if that is something you like to have like I do then that is a bit of a bummer.
- 3/5
The sower controls were old and challenging to regulate, the air conditioner was less than ideal and struggled to keep the room cool
- 4/5
The location is perfect. Tons of restaurants and nice walking nearby. Given the very reasonable price, this is a great hotel. The AC unit worked well. Nothing really.
- 3.5/5
Fantastic location for a great price
- 4.5/5
I had a wonderful stay. The room was quiet, and the hotel is located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of Central Park. There are lots of amazing restaurants in the neighborhood. It was a little run-down, but that didn't bother me at all.

Our stay was fine; however, the beds were so hard. There was also mold on the walls of the shower/tub. Staff was great. Location was perfect.

Great location, friendly and very helpful staff. Restaurant in basement level was great. Room itself was relatively small with smaller regular size beds. Beds were soft and sagging.

Location is great, but it's pretty run down. Has kind of a hostel vibe. Floor was uneven and had two different kinds of flooring in one room, the shower wall and ceiling had obvious mold, walls of the room were scuffed up, and the curtains were weirdly too short and had no way to tie them back. But the room had AC, a mini fridge, and things worked. If you can handle things being run down and a little odd, go for it.
- 4/5
It was ok
- 4/5
Great location. The staff was professional and pleasant. The elevator and air conditioner were effective. The property was a bit worn, but otherwise, this hotel suited my travel needs. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Excellent location and competitive price, friendly staff, suitable no frills accomodations. The door to the room and bathroom stuck a little and there was a stain on the reading chair seat cover, but for a place to sleep for a few days it fit the bill for much less than comparable options.
- 5/5
For very lucky with street parking directly in front of the hotel Saturday night into Sunday. Gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Only issue was a very soft bed and very hard pillows.
- 5/5
The bed and pillows were great
- 4/5
Great location for theaters, great price, very nice room it’s a winner
- 5/5
This hotel is in a very central spot on Manhattan. It’s a few blocks away from the metro and close to a lot of shops like CVS or Target if you forget anything and so many local restaurants to choose from. The room was clean and met all our needs. We travelled with our 4 year old and it was perfect for our needs. The only downside was there is no microwave. However, the hotel is above a restaurant and they will help heat your food up as long as the restaurant is open. I definitely would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great quality and affordable place to stay.
- 3/5
However, the property was very old and dated. The hallways were extremely narrow, only one person could fit at a time. Bathrooms were very old and the toilet plumbing kept running. Overall, it was okay if you're looking for a cheaper stay, but I probably wouldn't book there again.
- 4/5
Great value hotel. The room was clean and had air conditioning, which was great because it was in the 80s when i visited. Only complaint is that the pillows were pretty stiff and flat for my preference. Nevertheless I slept well thanks to the cool and quiet room.
- 4/5
Stayed one night. It was convenient for a party I was attending. Small room but it was comfortable and good for sleeping which is all I needed. For London it was a good price. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Ideal location for Broadway and nyc in general with many subway lines nearby. I’ve stayed cherry before; the price was right- tiny room but still a good choice overall. Nice restaurant below
- 5/5
This is a nice property south of the park. It is convenient to all. The restaurant / bar is an added bonus.
- 3/5

- 4/5
Good stay
- 5/5
The location is AMAZING, everything within walking distance , the train is very near by, central park 200 metres from the hotel. quite, clean, staff super nice
- 5/5
Excellent italian restaurant in basement ,joey g's
- 4/5
Accommodations Good 👍
- 5/5
I would definitely stay at the da Vinci again. Very clean staff was very accommodating.
- 5/5
The property also has an Italian restaurant. The food is top shelf.
- 5/5
Just needed a room to sleep in. Very clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Choose it for the location, the rest is secondary. Met expectation.
- 4/5
Room clean, nice amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, free coffee in lobby).Nice lobby (quiet and comfortable). Property at the gateway to Broadway and close to Central Park and Times Square.
- 5/5
The room was a little small but it was perfect for the two of us and we didn't spend much time in the room, or hotel.
- 4/5
The price was awesome and very friendly staff and the restaurant downstairs was amazing. I will book it again..
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff, good location. Genuine New York-feel place, not many tourists.
- 4/5
Need to clean Bathroom better
- 4/5
It was great. Staff was amazing
- 3/5
There was a random pipe making a loud hissing noise every hour or so and the heater blew a mystery substance all over the room. Looked like ash. Beds were pretty awful too. $170 a night! This is more like a $40 a night room, but hey...at least you're in NYC!
- 5/5
Easy check in/check out. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
The room is was clean and the heater setting was perfect. Had good sleep during my two nights stay. Although the room was very small, it was protect for a solo traveler.
- 5/5
This property is a winner!!!
- 4/5
The staff and customer service was decent. Location was great.
- 5/5
Clean, cozy, comfortable. So clise to Central Park, Shops at Columbus Circle and Carnegie Hall. Excellent Italian Restaurant premises. Staff very kind and helpful. Already booked for another stay.
- 5/5
The staff, accommodation and location were all terrific.
- 5/5
This boutique hotel, is no frills but the property and the rooms are well kept and clean. The staff is helpful. One nice advantage is the restaurant / bar associated with the hotel. The area around the property is fine.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice and clean. My room was cozy, quite clean, and very comfortable on the third floor. The staff were all very nice.
- 4/5
Very nice. Clean! Staff was very helpful and .it was budget friendly. This hotel has a great location close to Lincoln Center, Hells Kitchen and theater district. We really enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Great space! Will stay again.
- 5/5
Great location and very convenient to access local transportation.
- 4/5
Spotless room, extremely comfortable bed, friendly staff, well kept beautiful building
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly. The restaurant associated with the hotel is top notch
- 1/5
The room was neglected, never had house keeping come in and the toilet started flooding the room with poop water
- 5/5
Room was clean, hotel was smelling really clean and fresh, staff was friendly they gave us complimentsry late checkout too.
- 5/5
This hotel was charming and unique. It is also very walkable to a lot of popular areas. We really enjoyed our stay. There was an older gentleman who I believe was working the night shift there. He was the best part of our stay. He was so welcoming an accommodating. He even made the coffee in the lobby a half hour earlier when he heard we had an early start. Would stay again!
- 3/5
Great location, staff was friendly and helpful room was clean, but cold at night
- 3/5
The room was in good condition. Staff was courteous.
- 4/5
Clean room, very friendly and helpful stuff.
- 4/5
The room was the perfect size. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
I will consider this spot again when I visit. Honestly my biggest gripe is that the towels were yellow. I prefer white and bleached.

It was bleak. I ended up driving back to Philadelphia after the show rather than stay there.
- 4/5
Very convenient. Easy walk to many locations. Joe G restaurant was a fantastic dinner and great hospitality. Nightshifter at the front desk, Phil, was exceptional to us.
- 5/5
Great room really comfortable bed.
- 3/5
Heater did not work and it was cold in NY. Management of hotel put a space heater in the room which worked ok.
- 5/5
Loved it. Felt liked a European hotel. Older hotel and very cutely decorated. Would definitely stay again.
- 2/5
Room smelled
- 5/5
Stayed 2 nights in a room with 2 beds with my son. The staff was friendly, the room and bathroom clean and it was surprisingly quiet. We had dinner one night at the restaurant next door, Joe G's. Good food and affordable. Close to 2 parking garages and a subway stop.
- 4/5
For the price & how close it is to time square which is connected to everything it can’t be beat. It was comfortable cozy, and the staff was always greeting us with a smile. The only thing I would have to say is the floors are very thin so you can hear very early in the morning harsh foot slaps above you.
- 4/5
Room a little small even for one person
- 3/5
The room was clean but very worn looking
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, and very affordable, with a great location!
- 3/5
This is a small hotel that is clean but falling behind a bit on maintenance. The chain lock on my door was broken, there was some questionable stains on the room chair and a piece of wood grain vinyl flooring was being used like a floor rug between the beds. It’s quiet and in a good location, but could use some work.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
In New York you are close to all you need but DaVinci had a lovely space and early coffee service- ease to Carnegie Hall and Central Park
- 4/5
I appreciated this hotel’s convenient location.
- 4/5
Also, really good coffee available in the lobby in the morning. Oh, and the price rocked compared to others in the area. We’d stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Small hotel in a great central location (near to Broadway theaters, Lincoln Center, buses and subway). Friendly staff!! Hotel guests get 15% off in the attached Italian restaurant- which also has a Happy Hour at the bar from 4-8PM! My room was tidy, had A/C and a very comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Excellent location. We have never been to NYC before but found everything pretty easy. We arrived from cape cod early and the lady (marina?) Let us check in early - very friendly. The guy overnight too was excellent. Room was very comfortable for the 2 days we stayed. I had messaged prior to coming for a late check in - i had a reply back about this promptly. We really enjoyed here. Felt safe too. Would recommend it to others and hopefully come back to stay one day too :)
- 4/5
Great price & location but room was very cramped
- 5/5
Also the restaurant associated with this hotel was nice as well
- 3/5
Coffee/tea options in the room would be great. The thermos in the Libby had Luke warm water every day. Brighter bulbs in room. Too dingy.
- 4/5
Clean room, not run-down, friendly staff
- 4/5
Room was small but clean. Not luxury, but perfectly adequate. I was on the street side so noise was an issue.
- 2/5
Room was tiny. Walking the hall from elevator to room, the hall floor was uneven. Shower head wasn't adjustable and shot water out the curtain onto floor. AC wasn't working, got ants in the room.
- 5/5
This is a tiny place with very tiny rooms. Since I was traveling alone, it was perfectly sufficient for my needs. Both Central Park and Times Square were within easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee was served in the lobby in the morning, and I had no problem finding somewhere to eat.
- 5/5
The DaVinci is a lovely small hotel within a short walking distance to the theater district and near ample subway choices. It isa an older hotel with up to date rooms, well appointed and comfortable. I will look forward to returning
- 5/5
Great area for NYC shows, Central Park and Tome Square
- 5/5
Great location. Clean room. Good price.
- 5/5
If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. However, I personally loved this hotel. It was very small and minimalist - and very simple. Yet, it offered every single thing a traveler needs: Clean room and amenities; AMAZING location, good price, and super friendly staff. Additionally, it was really quiet (even in the middle of the city), and it felt safe. I will definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
This hotel is quite adequate for a short-term stay in New York City. The staff members were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Otherwise it was fine.
- 5/5
Convenient, clean, affordable. I checked for bed bugs (because of past experience) and, none to be found. Small but adequate for two people. Staff was very friendly. 5 minutes of the Hudson Parkway. Great if you’re spending most of your time walking around.
- 5/5
Super cute spot, old school. We liked the host that greeted us at the lobby!
- 5/5
Simple, clean, and affordable.
- 2/5
A 2 STAR HOTEL AT BEST...DREARY ROOM WITH WINDOW AC THAT LEAKED..A FEW ANTS IN THE ROOM.
- 4/5
I was a woman travelling alone and felt quite safe. It is a few blocks from Carnegie Hall, and MoMA.
- 5/5
This quiet little hotel was perfect for our visit to Carnegie Hall. It appears to have been recently renovated. Clean, comfortable, cute and cozy.
- 5/5
Great location and fair orice for the area
- 1/5
I lost lots of cash in the room. I left the cash ( more than JD1000.00 = $ 1500 and credit cards under the bed as the safe was not working. I forgot to grab them when I checked out I called two days later ( couldn’t call earlier as I was inflight overseas), and was told me that at least one guest used the room after me, as if new guests are allowed into the room before it is cleaned and prepared.
- 5/5
Charming and professional
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Was just in the city one night. Very friendly staff. Clean and great location.
- 4/5
Location is Convenient for many things in New York.
- 3/5
All that being said I enjoyed my stay. 🙂
- 4/5
Great location for our plans. The hotel looks old, but the rooms were really clean and everything worked fine. for the price we paid, compared to other options, it was excellent. We will definitively stay in the Da Vinci Hotel again.
- 5/5
I am not a fan of NYC. So, i usually travel in-and-out. This hotel is excellent for a short trip due to its location.
- 4/5
The room was great but found the bed to be a little to hard.
- 4/5
The shower knob and two remotes could have come with instructions but for the location and price, I’d definitely go back again. Perfect location !
- 1/5
The air conditioner spit out soot. The shower had no pressure . Bathroom was outdated 2 full beds instead of queen or king . out black
- 4/5
Cozy rooms, friendly stuff.
- 4/5
It was conveniently located and asthetic
- 5/5
Construction was undergoing at night. Other than that, everything was good.
- 3/5
Overall, the hotel was alright. The mini fridge in the room didn't work great and when we turned on the air conditioner, some dirt came blowing out onto the desk. It's definitely an old building thay they are trying to keep up. The nearby parking at an affordable price was nice and the restaurant downstairs was convenient. The hotel is located near Central Park, but it was quite a walk to do other things on our list. Staff was very friendly.
- 2/5
Well located but very noisy, not from the street but inside the property. My room was located behind the machinery running all night and very noisy. Room was old, poor light and bed uncomfortable.
- 4/5
The sign outside the hotel is very small. I missed it the first time, walked right by it.
- 2/5
Small room, hard beds, worn lino, sink that backed up, no significant amenities, expensive. Fraudulent preauthorization charge that apparently originated with the hotel required I close my card before my stay. Close to Carnegie Hall, though, which was what I needed. Excellent Thai restaurant next door. Would not stay here again, though.
- 4/5
The big issue I had during my stay was the clerk copied my driver's license and credit card during check-in. Having a paper copy of this information is a huge exposure to identity theft & credit card fraud, no matter the assurance it would be stored safely & destroyed after the credit card transaction was completed. There are good reasons why credit card systems only display and print the last 4 digits of a card number; this practice circumvents all of them. I would happily return to the Davinci Hotel but only if my personal information isn't held on paper.
- 4/5
Convenient. Friendly. Helpful.Needs grab bars in bathroom
- 3/5
Nice large room, close to Central park and public transport, restaurants etc but very noisy as above the street (construction all night) and heating hard to figure out. Took a long time for water to heat up as well wasting alot of water in the process.
- 5/5
Had a nice stay needing a convenient place to rest not too far from my job. The place is low-key, yet still easy to find. Very close to Lincoln Center, just a quick walk away.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Convenient location, reasonably priced for what it offers, clean and fast check in
- 5/5
Excelent and convenient
- 5/5
this was my 4th stay at this hotel, every time there is no issue with the check in, the room or the staff. everything is always nice and easy. the hotel is very close to where I need for the event I work annually. The one thing that is not even a complaint but a personal preference is the beds are too soft for my liking. That is not to fault the hotel at all, it is a personal preference
- 3/5
Wouldn’t stay there again
- 5/5
Would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean and affordable nd price
- 4/5
Everything about our stay was great except the beds, very very firm. Great location, great staff, great stay.
- 4/5
The place was good. The view from my window wasn’t too great, but I just needed a place to sleep. Mattress was a bit uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Very good hotel for the price.
- 4/5
Nothing fancy but perfectly fine for a quick trip. Clean.
- 4/5
Nice hotel with double queen size beds and comfortable!
- 3/5
hotel was in a convenient location, was a place to lay our head at night, but wouldn't stay longer than a night or two
- 5/5
Convenient location, good value. Room small but larger than many New York rooms. Room had refrigerator, a coffee maker would have been nice.
- 5/5
Good place no problems
- 5/5
Cozy beds and convenient to shops/subway
- 3/5
The hotel was really cold. And the hotel photos are different from the real thing.
- 3/5
I had only one night to rest after a long morning meeting, couldn’t take a nap when i checked in because was heavy construction outside. I had to go out came back thinking all good but no. Upstairs guest was walking heavy and too much noise outside. It’s an old building hotel to that’s normal you pay for what you get, otherwise the staff are friendly and location is perfect.
- 3/5
Pros: Nice shower with great water pressure.
- 5/5
This is a gem of a hotel in Midtown, and it is very affordable. Highly-recommended.
- 5/5
We were so pleasantly surprised by this small hotel. Our room and bathroom were larger than we expected, and the place was immaculate. Ignore the road construction in front - caused no problems for us. The hotel was perfectly located. The extra bonus is the restaurant downstairs. Joe G is one of the best Italian restaurants we have been to in New York, and the prices were totally reasonable, especially for the city.
- 5/5
We made a quick trip to NYC and found this awesome little place to stay. We don't spend much time in our room so this was a perfect fit for us. Easy check in, easy access to our room, secure and great location with Lincoln Center within a quick walk. Will definitely be staying here again!
- 5/5
good clean hotel
- 4/5
Professionally managed business with efficient procedures. Excellent value!
- 5/5
You can't ask for better at this price and location
- 4/5
Everyone was easy too talk with..
- 3/5
Very small hotel. Everything was cramped, including hallways. Outside of room in lobby and hallways, very cold, maintained by space heaters.
- 5/5
Safe, clean and quiet place, perfect for what i needed - a walking distance to the event I had on the Upper East Side.
- 5/5
Nice people. Nice interior.
- 4/5
A nice hotel in a great location.
- 3/5
Decent price for being walkable to Broadway. Clean room. Beds are very hard. Our key box didn’t work so we had no room keys and had to be let in by front desk whenever we went in. Hotel is not wheel chair accessible - had to carry chair up stairs to get into the lobby and hallways are so narrow the chair barely fit. I did not ask ahead of time, so my own fault there, but certainly good to know if you require it.
- 4/5
We liked it here....it was within walking distance for all we did for three days......I liked the ability to control the heating system perfectly for comfort all night.....the hot running water did leave something to be desired, but a cool shower is good sometimes.
- 5/5
Great location, has an Italian restaurant attached. Recently painted, floors also look recent. Room was cold when we arrived, but heated up quickly. As with all NYC hotels, space is a bit cramped. Small fridge in room a plus. Staff was very nice and helpful.
- 1/5
Beyond time. No trashcan. No toilet paper holder. Heard man next door all night.my bathroom door shut and locked - was locked out. Had to shower in a hallway bathroom- my items are in bathroom still. If a child gets locked in or adult medical they have no way to open the door. Huge safety breach. Bathroom toilet almost “in shower”. At check in a man was in room painting? I pay for private place to sleep and shower. - woman at desk tried to blame me for faulty door. Used a bag as a makeshift trash
- 5/5
The staff here was so amazing. Really nice people and it's such a cute little hotel, especially for the price. And you're right in the middle of where you want to be in NYC. And the beds was comfy!
- 4/5
The restaurant attached was excellent!
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the hotel was located in a great part of town for us. We would stay again.
- 4/5
This was the perfect place for the theater district. It was walkable to so many places and the restaurant downstairs is great. Staff was incredible. If you like pillows, I’d bring your own as I was so used to my fluffy ones. But that was a minor blip on an otherwise great trip! Definitely recommend
- 3/5
Great location. Clean, bright lobby. The room was a bit shabby, with through pillows and a bed covering that aren’t washed and traces of mold growing in the bathroom, where the ceiling paint was also peeling. Two small windows that looked out onto walls.
- 2/5
Lumpy soft bed, Fox News owner.
- 3/5
Very good location! Good staff
- 5/5
I loved the location, my room was clean, it’s an older building so the room was small, the bed was comfy, there was a window ac unit, a desk, a small shower… there was not a fridge even though the description said there was. The location was great and super walkable. I would totally stay here again.
- 3/5
Room sid not have a phone and all the outlets didn't work. Air conditioner did not work properly as well.
- 5/5
Really nice people. Convenient clean room close to the heart of the city, a heart of the city!
- 4/5
Room was older, but clean. Very tall ceilings. Could use new mattresses. Not comfortable and sunk in the middle. Staff were wonderful. Restaurant, Joe G's was excellent! Hotel was perfect location for us.
- 3/5
On the low end in terms of cleanliness, and the rooms are totally without charm.
- 3/5
Horrible smell in room. No phone to call front desk. Had to use my cell. Bed was comfortable though.
- 5/5
Friendly, helpful staff thank you.
- 3/5
Great location and price is acceptable for the location. However, mildew in the bathrom is not acceptable. It is a bit older building, some rooms have terrible view. However, for a short stay in Manhattan, it is OK. Personnel is kind.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 4/5
A decent room for a night. Very low frills… bed, bathroom, tv. It was clean and quiet.
- 4/5
This hotel is good value for money. There is a fridge in the room, which was a nice surprise it is well located, quite quiet too.
- 2/5
Charged $5.00 for energy. That is nickel and diming. Area is fine. Hotel needs an update and my room had some flying bugs and mold in the bathroom.
- 3/5
The staff are very nice and helpful. It is very well located near Central Park.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent. Price great. Location was awesome.
- 4/5
