Reviews
The hotel receives generally positive reviews for its location, rooftop bar, and friendly staff. However, the small room size is a consistent complaint, and some guests mention noise and cleanliness issues.

The room was extremely tiny and felt unclean. The shower floor had what looked like mold growing under the seal, and when looking up in the shower, you can see cockroaches crawling along the glass ceiling.

This is a great spot - well curated decor and nice staff. The food and 24/7 options are really limited. There is a breakfast you can pay for but it isn't worth the price. You can walk 2 blocks into SOHO and find a cute cafe for less. No coffee or tea for free, you have to either buy the breakfast or buy your own coffee. The rooms are pods. They are way too small for 2 people imo. Very well curated and cute though so if you're not planning to be in your room much it's a great option. Overall great stay, loved being able to walk everywhere and the rooftop!

Great location, just steps to the subway. Room was very clean and the canteen and coffee bar are cool additions to the property. The staff are super friendly!

Really nice lobby area for working, with bar and snacks available. Loved the rooftop bar on a sunny day. Service was great and helpful. The neighborhood has a lot of great walkable restaurants and shopping.

We come to NYC twice per year and we stay at Citizen M Bowery every time. We like that it's our home away from home. It has everything we need as a couple. It's strategically located to give you full access to all the major attractions in NYC.

it's NYC, so paying an arm and a leg is given. but the budget buys exactly what you would want - sumptuous bed, exquisitely functional room and very satisfying facilities (common room and rooftop bar). Whether it's NYC or any city I'll visit, all things being equal I'll go for citizen M

The location was excellent, close to many subway lines and walking distance to shops and dining. The room was great for one person, very comfortable and great views. I think it would be a bit tiny and uncomfortable for two people, specially getting into and out of bed. Lots of homeless people outside of the hotel at all times. It does not feel unsafe but something to consider.
- 5/5
The staff were amazing, kind, and helpful. The view from my room was everting that I wished for, everything was close by, transport via the subway also. Great location. Would definitely come back again.

As a first timer, CitizenM exceeded my expectations. The staff was so accommodating and courteous to my questions. As student who was traveling, the access to the printer in the lounge was an amazing amenity. The rooftop bar was very relaxing and offered great views of the city. Easy access to the subway stations and local eats in every direction. I look forward to booking with them again.

The Coworking space is genius Amphitheatre and long tables, banquets, couches, tv , and outdoor space too. The bar breakfast staff and area were fantastic! Justin was fantastic and so hospitable! He was helpful in recommending Thai diner for late night amazing food 10/10 hotel and staff. The matcha upstairs was fantastic too!

Rooftop bar and lower level lounge were nice, sheets were clean. The small room I got was an accessible room (without ever asking for one), with a bad bathroom setup, and a tiny (and cracked) sink. The shower drain was rusty, the sofa was stained and worn out, and there was no place to hang the shower towel. On top of that, I nearly begged the staff member for another complementary hour to check out (which was clearly available for my room) but it was initially offered only for an outrageous fee. One of the worst value for money I ever had. Totally not worth a $370 rate per night

We are loyal Marriott Bonvoy members and always try to use their hotels. While CitizenM is a Marriott hotel, we booked this hotel on Expedia. Exhausted after a long week of travel for college tours, my wife and son and I arrived at the hotel ready to relax. At check in, we learned the unfortunate news that the hotel would not permit us to check in with 3 guests. Our son is a minor so it would not make sense to let him stay in his own room and we were willing to let him sleep on the floor, but hotel staff refused. Exhausted and now exasperated too, my wife leaned in talked to the staff and they agreed to refund our room to accommodate us. Sadly, they never did refund us and neither did Expedia. Lesson learned - read the fine print and book directly through the hotel whose websites are usually more clear about this stuff.

The location was perfect! Centre of everything for walking to places nearby (shops bars food). And central for getting transport to across the city. Absolutely would stay here again when visiting the city. Room was slightly small but it was expected

There is no human that can be reached by phone from outside the hotel. An AI voice is not hospitality!!!!!!! Final pricing was not what originally was listed on site.
- 4/5
Great location - the rooms are a bit Micro - the gym only has three cardio machines.
- 2/5
The room is very small. There is no walking space between the bed and the wall in front of it, it's surrounded by wall on three sides. This I could overlook being that New York is very expensive. However, I have stayed at other hotels in similar price range with bigger rooms, better amenities, and better cleanliness. The check-in and check-out is completely done on a computer, there isn't always someone available at the front desk. Everything in the room is operated by ipad: blinds, shades, lights, temperature, etc. Nothing is manual. That also means that if anything is broken or won't work, the ipad is the only way to use something. The blinds and shades were broken in my room, and I arrived late at night so did not transfer hotels. Otherwise I would have. They had no other rooms available, and they did not fix the shades. There were no slippers offered, or robes. It wasn't unclean, but it didn't feel crisp and clean the way hotels should feel. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Amazing design of the lobby & rooms. The rooms are snug but the space is used efficiently. We liked the ability to control the lighting color. The bed was super comfy. Fantastic location...so close to subway & great restaurants & bars. Check in was a little rushed. We did not know about the free water & snack area until our last evening. Would be nice if the rooftop bar was open a little later.

bed comfort, ease of check in, rooftop lounge access Our shade was broken. Someone from maintenance temporarily fixed it, but then it immediately broke again. I know this isn't exactly anyone's fault, but it meant we didn't have a view - which is the best feature of the hotel.

Great location, good room with all that's needed. Very very friendly staff. Fresh veggies for breakfast could be nice :) After room cleaning they forgot to bring new towels. Had to wait about 1.5hrs to get new ones, which kept me in the hotel and was late to my meetings.

Amazing location, high rooms had a great view of financial district, excellent roof bar with gorgeous views. Huge comfy bed. Easy self check in/check out. Daily cleaning. Decent coffee bar that opens at 7am. Surprisingly ok storage for such a small room with hanging space. Very easy to get to JFK on the J line from Bowery. Rooms are small but we knew that, worth it for the location and quality of amenities.

This hotel is in the best area, they have water bottles downstairs for guests and coffee (no coffee machine in room) We reqlly enjoyed the bar downstairs and the rooftop. Cons: the rooms are absolutely TINY!! lf you are sharing with another person you will feel them getting up out of bed. The bathroom door doesnt close tightly so be comfortable enough to use the toilet really close to your partner.
- 5/5
Guest staff friendly. Place with such a good vibe. Clean and smelling good
- 5/5
Big window next to the bed with amazing sunlight and views in the morning. I was in and out, so didn’t get to try the breakfast. The check-in and check-out processes were quick and easy - all at kiosks. Trendy designs for the room. Great location next to SoHo, Nolita, East Village, etc - shops and food super accessible. Only downside: lobby, halls, and room could’ve been cleaner. I found some hair in the far corner of the bed. There was something on one of the towels so I didn’t use it - used the other one. There could be improvement in cleanliness. Overall, I had an amazing stay and would recommend. Will be my go-to place whenever I come to NYC solo.

The hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating, and the hotel offered everything we were looking for. The rooftop bar was a great place to grab a drink before going out, and though the rooms are on the smaller side, it offered maximum comfort. I'd highly recommend.

Great areas for seating. Attentive staff. I like that the bar is open late. I like the vibe of the citizenM properties, and this one was good. Location worked for me (the Public Theater and the New Museum were walkable distances). This is not about the hotel itself, but both cabs and rideshare vehicles got confused about the address. That's it.

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed at so far! It is beautiful! It’s in a great location! The rooms were always clean and windows had the best views on the city! I cannot recommend this enough! Check out the rooftop bar, don’t miss it!!!

We had stayed at the CitizenM Paris a few years ago, so we know the vibe, amenities, etc that the hotel offers since they are all laid out the same. While we heard traffic/beeping car horns from the street, we never heard any noise inside the hotel from other guests or staff. The only downside is the bed being up against the window but we knew that was the layout when we booked it. As long as you are limber enough to climb in and out of the bed, there are no issues. I can see this being an issue though for some folks with mobility issue (there could be more accessible rooms available and I am just not aware, so please don't let that sway your decision on whether to stay here). Definitely take time to have to drinks at the roof top bar. The view was spectacular and relaxing. Finally, we had a late night snack hummus which hit the spot after a long night out. Definitely recommend and will be back.

friendly vibe, great coffee, views and bar, comfy beds. it could use some surfaces and cubbies for storage in the room.

Really solid hotel. The rooftop bar was expensive but the sunset view from the bar was unbeatable. The bed was nice and the lights in the room were fun. Overall, a really solid place to stay in SoHo.

They have a coffee shop/bar at the front that's now open, and the scaffolding is finally down! The hotel is a great value for what you get and where you are. Rooms are clean, quiet, and the internet is good enough to work out of. Reminder, it's not a luxury hotel, so don't expect the amenities you would get at a luxury hotel.

I booked a room for 4 days while my partner were in town and we loved this place! The room was very NYC-sized (to be expected), but clean and close to everything. The hotel is artsy and feels like such a nice place to hang out. The rooftop bar was a big place. Would love to come back if we’re in the city again!

Everything was perfect except for the many homeless people outside the hotel. It was very unpleasant to woke outside the hotel in the late evening and night.

The only thing I didn't like was the mandatory cleaning day. They have a tablet that has room control including what days you want your room to be cleaned. Only one of the days I couldn't turn off.

We had an amazing stay at Citizen M, Bowery! The hotel was so cool and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved the room layout and the atmosphere of the place! Overall great place to stay!!!
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the CitizenM. The biggest draw before coming was the huge common space downstairs. We enjoyed breakfast every morning with our 5 year old and he had space to play and watch some TV (because most people around us were always working from the area) Jose at the coffee/bar was always super friendly and helpful...Mally (spelling) was so helpful with our room and just a friendly face throughout our stay. We would love to stay here again and definitely will on our next visit. Also, bonus, very near subway access!! That's a plus.

A wonderful hotel in a great area of NYC.
- 5/5
Great hotel and convenient location. Main lobby in a great place to work during the day. Restaurant and bar on the roof have wonderful views of the city.
- 4/5
Great location and good no-frills rooms for solo travellers. Room could use a little bit of touching up but was cleaned very well. Lobby gets quite busy as they also market it as a co-working space. Rooftop bar has great views, but would be nicer if hotel guests could use it as a general space to relax rather than just as a bar.

This hotel was super fun and funky. I stayed in this hotel in Austin Texas and it was equally as great. I highly recommend it.
- 3.5/5
Super comfy little place. Great facilities and breakfast. Room is very small, almost capsule like - but I expect that at an NYC boutique hotel. The bed was so comfy and with the automatic blackout shades I slept like a baby! My review score is more about the pre-stay policies. I was flying up there for work but it happened to be around one of the blizzards this year. They refused any type of consolation - even if my flight was cancelled. The only thing they said they could do was give me a credit for another 2 nights but ONLY if I booked it on the spot and ONLY if it was within the next 2 weeks - which I can't do with work because I have to reschedule meetings. It turned out fine and I was able to get up there anyway, but I would hope that they would have a better policy when things are completely out of a person's hands.
- 5/5
Second time staying here and it was great ! The location is perfect and the staff was great. Clean rooms and facilities, will return again!
- 3/5
The room was good value for the price I paid, and I particularly liked the control pad that allowed you to manage the lighting and other features easily. My experience at check-in was a bit confusing. The first receptionist told me there were no rooms available and that I wouldn’t be able to check in early. I then started arranging to store my luggage, but when I returned to reception shortly afterwards, a different receptionist was able to check me in straight away and said my room was ready. The main issue during my stay was the Wi-Fi, which did not work at all. This meant I had to keep purchasing additional mobile data, which became quite expensive. With more reliable internet and clearer communication at reception, the stay would have been much more comfortable.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Clean but small room. Great for business travel. No coffee or water or cups in the rooms.
- 2/5
Great location, rooftop bar has amazing city views Where to begin…. This room is fine if you are under 2 feet tall. It was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in and I travel for a living. I could not even open my suitcase on the ground I had to put it on the bed to open it. There is basically no staff, you have to check yourself in on an iPad that does not work. I would never stay here again.

I had extended here a couple of times. It was a nice option to stay stuck at as the weather cancelled flights across two days. It has a great working space and also the roof top has great views.

The hotel was excellent in several ways: great location, beautiful and funky decor, everything was very clean in the hotel and my room, which had a comfortable bed and was very cozy. The lounge /bar areas on the downstairs and top floors were amazing and the view was spectacular! Most of all, the staff were very kind and helpful, going out of their way a couple of times to help me. I would like to stay there again!

The room was NOT equipped with the proper stuff and these were not items already used as we checked in today so the fact that I’m getting attitude when YOUR staff didn’t equip the room correctly is absolutely ridiculous!! 2 hours later after asking for wash cloth they finally showed up….

Staff was courteous and helpful when needed. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable for a NYC hotel room. We enjoyed the technological additions to the room as well. Very convenient location for our visit.

First, there is always a person at the front desk. They check your ID and help you check in. There is a human connection. And the staff was SOOO friendly. Secondly, the front is a dedicated public space. It is a common practice that allows developer to build higher. We had no issues with people hanging out there. Not a single one. We absolutely loved hanging out in the "Living Room". Such a beautiful and welcoming space. And the bar upstairs was spectacular! The bathroom/shower is the typical frosted glass. So I went down to the lobby to use the bathroom most days. I like privacy in that area of my life. 😃 We did wish that there were outlets on both sides of the bed. That was about it for suggestions. I hope you enjoy your stay! Thanks for the beautiful memory citizenM!

My first choice is always to stay at a citizen m. And this trip did not change my choice to do so. Everything about the property from the staff to their green approach to the contemporary modern rooms perfection at its best.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and service. Very clean room as well. Loved the breakfast.
- 5/5
Were all amazing
- 5/5
Very good service. I would just put cups for water in the rooms.

Love this place! Definitely recommend!
- 4/5
Awesome location and view. Average service. No coffee provided (in room or in lobby - for purchase only). Wasn't a big fan of the perfume used.
- 4/5
The room was a little too hot and the climate control took a while to cool down. Also, there were no cups for water in the room. Otherwise great.
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, awesome decorations

Room was clean, staff was very friendly. The morning buffet is a great option to start your morning! Would stay here again.

Small rooms can work if designed well, but this one wasn’t. Storage was severely lacking: not enough space for two carry-ons and backpacks, too few hangers, only one drawer, and no shelves in the “bathroom” or shower. My partner even used the safe as extra storage. The biggest issue was the bathroom itself—a frosted plexiglass pod with no fan and zero real privacy. We travel often and don’t mind sharing space, but this setup was… unique. I was grateful for my white-noise machine. There was also no in-room iron or steamer. The front desk sent me to “Iron Heaven” on the fourth floor—a tiny closet with one ironing board. Pretty inconvenient for a hotel at this price. No coffee maker, no water, and not even cups in the room. The café downstairs sells basic drip coffee for $8, which really should’ve been complimentary in-room. The room is controlled entirely by an iPad—lights, blinds, TV—which sounds cool but was laggy and glitchy. More than once, pressing one button triggered something completely different. Location-wise, it’s not unsafe, but it’s also not a premium spot that justifies the rates. Overall, with the design flaws and inconveniences, this stay was a 3-star experience at best.
- 5/5
Room was spotless and all the hoyel staff was very courteous.
- 5/5
Our room was clean, location was great & staff was very friendly. We also loved the rooftop bar!
- 5/5
Everything was clean, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Staff was always helpful, rooms were maintained clean everyday, environment and ambience were great.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel in a convenient location. Walkable and good transfer options. Good breakfast. Only negative would be the gym is so small, 2 people in there the same time seems crowded.
- 5/5
Such a nice atmosphere in the hotel. Rooms are clean and very cool with the iPad control.
- 5/5
Very cute lobby and seamless check-in process. I also appreciated that we could lock up our luggage so we didn’t have to haul it around with us in town.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel, very clean, good proximity to subway
- 5/5
Had an issue with heating and water in showers and talked to staff and had room switched easily and a cup of coffee offered to relieve stress. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Would stay at CitizenM everywhere it’s available. Bed and pillows so comfy too.
- 4/5
Staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was clean and had an amazing view.
- 5/5
Loved the room and the view! So cozy and cute! Lobby was uniquely decorated and we took advantage of the view from the rooftop bar after returning to the hotel after the concert we attended nearby.
- 5/5
A neat and comfortable compact room in nyc , great communal space and luxury rooftop bar
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and rooms were very clean!
- 4/5
Excellent experience. Room was very clean and staff very kind. Great location.
- 3/5
This was definitely the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in. If you’re a solo traveler it might work for you. Bathroom is almost as small as an airplane bathroom. Sink is in the middle of the room. Zero privacy.
- 3/5
Area around hotel did not feel safe for a single woman traveling alone.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
Located to chinatown, little italy, lower east side. Staff was very nice and accommodating but they are about to be taken over by Marriott so there was a little confusion but nothing that hindered our stay. Ask about MOGA!
- 5/5
Very clean, delightful and helpful staff. Good breakfast option and a nice place to just hang out if need be.
- 2/5
Thermostat wasn’t working, first hotel I ever stayed at where they didn’t give you water or coffe machine inside. The restaurant in hotel doesn’t have to go cups. Would not be back.
- 5/5
The room was stunning, so was the hotel itself and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I can only recommend

- 5/5
Room was really nice, the fact that everything is done on the iPad was very efficient
- 5/5
Cool high tech room and great common area
- 3/5
Yes, the room was well appointed; the mattress was a bit too soft and mushy in room 1023. There are too many homeless hanging out under the scaffolding. The shower was great. At these prices, coffee should be complimentary on LL

I reported on the first day of check-in the presence of mildew and mold in the shower. I am highly allergic to mold. The desk person said they would handle it when I said that I was leaving for 4-5 hours. When I returned, nothing had occurred to remedy the mold. I reported it a 2nd day, again-this went unresolved. Your staff were wildly unprofessional around taking this seriously when I asked for another room to sleep in so that my allergies would not be triggered and did not resolve the issue. I have a series of photos of the mold taken every single day that I was forced to be in the room without anyone from your staff-despite speaking with management to resolve this. I would never stay here again.
- 5/5
Great spot and cool atmosphere
- 5/5
Most ideal location for a hotel in NYC! Each room has a great view! Rooftop bar is sensational, with a beautiful bird eye view of the city! Staff is top notch, warm and welcoming… now my favorite hotel downtown!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, incredibly pleasant stay, and lovely atmosphere
- 5/5
Excellent in every way
- 5/5
The hotel is clean and tech friendly
- 5/5
Small room but super clean super comfy and soundproof! Hotel is well located !
- 4/5
Sparkling clean room. Small but functional. Nice ambience. Modern. Could use minor things like a glass to drink tap water from
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was super helpful, the rooftop bar was stunning, the early breakfast was amazing. We will stay here again, no need to go anywhere else
- 5/5
All was as expected!
- 4/5
Comfy bed, overall a very nice room if small. Liked the rooftop bar and cafe / common area downstairs. Would stay there again.
- 4/5
They knew I was guest staying there because I purchased other items at the time of getting the coffee with my room key.
- 5/5
Great A+++
- 5/5
Another great stay at citizen M. It is my third property and it was what I have come to expect. A great value and consistently good service and amenities.
- 4/5
Nothing worked electronically in the room and it turned out my iPad (which controls literally everything) was broken. I called down to the front desk at 11:30 pm and a nice lady named Vanessa came up and spent some time fixing the issues while I hung out in my jammies. She literally saved my stay because at that point, I was out of there! She comped me breakfast the following day for my trouble which was nice because it was a good buffet! I liked how I could purchase just parts of the buffet over the following days because I can’t eat that much food and end up wasting money and food. This hotel is a good value compared to those in the same general area. Just be prepared for the rooms to be extremely cramped like you’re in Europe! Oh and they’re under construction, which would’ve appreciated being alerted to.
- 5/5
Perfect location- everything was super convenient. The room was comfortable and modern.
- 3/5
Very very small. Couldn’t even unpack. Or barely walk around each other
- 4/5
Fun, clean, conveniently located. Great breakfast, helpful staff. Tiny, minimalistic room fine, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Complaints: nothing to drink in room, not even a glass to drink tap water from, or a bottle of water in the fridge. Also, the elevators were really slow.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, cute downstairs area and rooftop bar.
- 5/5
This is our second time staying, I really love the rooms and the hotel is walking distance to everything!
- 5/5
Great location. Easy walk to several neighborhoods and great eating and drinking options.
- 3/5
The rooms are just shockingly small, it’s one of those things where if you don’t catch the square footage in the booking, you’ll probably be disappointed if you didn’t do it on purpose. These are meaningly smaller than a college dorm, the rest of the properties fantastic you would just want to be prepared for an amazingly small total space not Made for two people certainly.
- 5/5
This was the most perfect stay in. Close to SoHo shopping and eating. The staff was excellent - the food was so good. Five stars all around.
- 5/5
Super clean awesome service and an amazing view
- 4/5
Clean room great public spaces amazing quiet roof deck - only negatives were a running toilet and the bed not as comfortable as I would have liked. But very clean, excellent staff, well run and organized and great location.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Beautiful room and view. Loved the lobby. Spent time there reading and had a drink. Clean and comfortable.
- 2/5
Incredibly expensive for the space, service, and amenities. And it’s under construction with zero accommodation for the loss of accessible space.
- 4/5
Too small of a room
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay very much. The rooms are rather small but that was expected going in. High tech controls in all rooms and check in and out without help is great.
- 4/5
Great hotel with great staff and a lovely co-working space downstairs. Just very small rooms.
- 4/5
The hotel was great, everything inside amazing and clean and fun and everyone was awesome to work with. The only issue we had was the homeless population immediately outside the hotel. We literally had to step over people to get to the uber. There are building repairs to the building next door and there is scaffolding at CitizenM so there is a heavy homeless population staying there.
- 4/5
Great staff and excellent location.
- 5/5
- 1/5
Terrible
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, close to subways, the room is surprisingly quiet. 100% will come back!
- 5/5
We laughed, we knew the hotel room was going to be small but it was TINY! It was perfect for our needs.
- 5/5
Another great stay at CitizenM, this time in NYC. We appreciated the ease of check in, clean rooms, and overall well kept property. The gym was limited, would’ve liked that space to offer more equipment options. The cleaners did a nice job keeping the room tidy.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay here. The easiest check in and out I’ve ever had at a hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Only minor gripe was the sink being in the main part of the room rather than the bathroom pod. Great location for exploring lower Manhattan
- 4/5
Good hotel in excellent location. Staff were friendly and happy to help with anything.
- 5/5
I gave this hotel an excellent: the staff was so nice and helpful and the room was immaculately clean. BUT: What people need to know is that the room is tiny. The toilet/shower combo is directly in the room, next to the bed, with zero privacy as it is echoey. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom. The king bed is stationary against the wall so a companion will have to climb over whoever is on the opposite side. There are no luggage racks. We stayed for 2 days and had a small wheeled carryon and a Beis weekend bag...if we were there for a week with large suitcases it would not be manageable. What we had for luggage barely fit. I understand that when on a vacation not much time is spent in the room, but the time spent in the room should not be in cramped quarters with no bathroom privacy. I did like the hotel, but would stay somewhere else next time. The location was great. This hotel is best suited for the solo traveller or someone you are extremely familiar and comfortable with.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and had a great atmosphere. The area is conveniently near a ton of desirable areas but not the extremely touristy Wild West atmosphere like Times Square. 100% will stay here again when we visit manhattan
- 4/5
Great location very cool and edgy. Mid breakfast. Gluten free bread inedible. Should have roof terrace open as advertised as it is a main reason to stay and it was shut when we wanted to use it because of staff shortages. Staff could be more friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room with a great view
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and nice. The room was clean and quiet. 10/10. Oh, the roof top is epic!
- 5/5
Excellent all around.
- 5/5
Very modern and clean
- 5/5
PS, the room is clean, fresh, and modern / Amsterdam vibe. I felt I’m in the Netherlands 🥰
- 5/5
Stay was great. Amazing hotel in a really great part of town. Restaurants galore. I had booked a panoramic view room. While not entirely sure what separates that from the standard room, I was placed on the top floor with a phenomenal view of the entire tribeca and financial district areas. Made for great sunset views while relaxing after a long day of walking. Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Consistent quality, clean rooms, convenient area
- 4/5
Had some issues w the shades in our room. It was fine though. Great over all!!!
- 3/5
Central location and clean and attentive staff
- 4/5
Great to stay
- 5/5
Very comfortable
- 5/5
Great location to explore the lower east side. Hotel was comfortable and staff was great!
- 5/5
LOVE this hotel! Stayed for three nights and couldn’t be more happy that I decided on this place. I was a little skeptical when I seen the size of the rooms when booking but like many other reviews stated it was highly efficient. It was, modern, unique, clean, bed was SO comfy and the view was incredible! Front desk staff was amazing as well! I I wish I remembered the girls name with curly brown hair I think it may have started with a C but she was the BEST along with Yaya (Hope I spelled that right) also the two gentleman that helped suggest some restaurants. Literally everyone was great from the moment we got there. The rooftop lounge had absolutely phenomenal views of the city. Lots of great dining and shopping nearby also nightlife. Subway station just around the corner which was super convenient. Just a five minute walk to Chinatown and little Italy as well as soho. This was a great area to stay. They have a location in Times Square as well if you’re looking to stay in that area. I didn’t eat on property but did get a great hazelnut iced latte from the lower level lounge. Highly recommend this hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- 5/5
We love Citizen M! The rooms are small but laid out much better than most city hotels. The amenities, the tablets, the ironing area and the lower lobby all make it fun and enjoyable. The hotel is extremely clean, beds are really comfy and the views are always a highlight. Self check in and check out, all through the app, are really easy but the staff is always there to help. If you like bathroom privacy take turns, it's basically part of the room with a partition. Location is excellent, easy to public transport, and walking to East Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, SOHO and West Village if you don't mind a few miles.
- 5/5
Great place. Small rooms.
- 5/5
Very unique room experience. It felt like a loft. Loved the giant picture window. The room settings (lights/AC) had a learning curve as everything is controlled via a mini iPad but the hotel staff was super helpful.
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 5/5
Really nice place and surrounding area. Would definitely go back and recommend.
- 4/5
There is plenty to do around the area - great restaurants and bars. The room was the size of a closet, which was good and bad. The bed ran the width of the room but they somehow managed to get everything into that space. A sink, a closet, a safe. Very creative use of space but wayyy too small.
- 5/5
I loved the room and the blackout curtains and the friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location for shopping in SoHo and good restaurants.
- 5/5
very cool place with great staff.
- 5/5
Staying at the CitizenM was amazing, staff was great, room was delightful and the overall atmosphere was a good vibe
- 5/5
Room is little small but it was designed in such a way that it feels open.
- 4/5
There are many subway lines around the hotel, many restaurants and shops as well. The hotel recently got acquired by Marriott so we are excited to see how they blend the two together. We would definitely stay at this hotel again (but definitely upgrading to a bigger room).
- 5/5
They hold luggage before check in and after check out for a few hours which helps a lot. Clean bathrooms and cafe/bar amenities for late night. Beautiful rooftop bar view
- 4/5
Great view
- 5/5
Amazing view, cute hotel
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at Citizen M Bowery. I loved it from the minute we walked in the door. Everything was clean and very comfortable. The bed was big and comfortable. The staff was always helpful and the food was great. Roof top bar was nice and had a great view. Subway station right around the corner and a short walk to China town. I would definitely stay again on my next trip to NYC
- 5/5
I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The amenities were amazing the room was immaculate the bed was extremely comfortable I love the eco-friendliness anytime you have a hotel that is conscience of the environment I appreciate that. Having the ability to control everything in the room via an iPad or the app was amazing. I will absolutely be booking at this hotel again.
- 5/5
Nice rooms, clean, convenient location, easy check in/out. Beautiful cafe to get work done
- 5/5
I like everything about this property. The rooftop bar was my favorite.
- 5/5
Really great service from staff.
- 5/5
Cool but basic hotel. Excellent location and very convenient. Good value for money for NYC.
- 5/5
Great property. Great staff. Great views. Would stay here again. Rooms are very small as expected, but made it work. The lower lobby was amazing with all the seating, snacks and food.
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 4/5
All CitizenM hotels are exactly alike, so you know what to expect. Very small rooms, massive beds, fun ipad control of everything, a very large and nice public area. This location is ideal if you enjoy wandering around East Village, Soho, etc. The Times Square M is precisely the same except you're stuck in the middle of Times Square.
- 4/5
Parking in this area is not great but it’s a great area for restaurants and bars. Hotel was pretty pricey for the tiny room you get.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at the citizens and the staff is friendly and I was able to check in and check out easily. I was given a wonderful birthday card by staff member which lighten up my experience and it was conveniently close to great food and the subway system.
- 5/5
Value for money. Warm, friendly staff. Cool, hip atmosphere. Sparkling clean.
- 5/5
Great room
- 5/5
Hotel is clean, friendly, staff are helpful. Rooms are small but just fine for 2 people. I like the use of tech for operating the windows, lights and media. Love how they use the space so thoughtfully and efficiently. This is our second stay with this company at two different locations and both were great experiences. We will continue to return.
- 5/5
Great, modern, quiet, friendly place!
- 5/5
Great location - I loved the giant king bed nook & that I had a city view to look straight westward. Every staff person I encountered was a gem. The in-room ipad controls were.... kind of fun? I kept a subtle red glow on all night. I was on the 11th floor but the Bowery noise was pretty minimal. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great spot
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Wish both sides of bed had outlets. The area outside was under construction and it was dirty. Mowing areas overgrown. I just take it’s a nice hotel that could be in a better area.
- 5/5
Was great
- 5/5
All of the staff was so kind and helpful. Will be staying here again.
- 3/5
Very nice ans chic social areas, but I dont understand room distribution, very unconftable the bed next to the wall/window
- 5/5
Efficient, clean, and helpful staff with a great rooftop bar. The location on the edge of China Town and Little Italy is great. We had a great morning run across Manhattan bridge and back on Brooklyn bridge. Will come back!
- 5/5
This hotel was amazing, the room was so relaxing and although it has an interesting layout it felt very well put together. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on in any hotel and nothing beats that view overlooking the city.
- 5/5
Great location , fun roof top bar and hotel is decorated so nicely .
- 5/5
Cool hotel in excellent location. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
I like the view.
- 5/5
The perfect hotel to celebrate our anniversary and our first trip to lower east Manhattan. The bed was so comfortable and we had beautiful view to Little Italy and part of SoHo skyline. We will be back!
- 5/5
This is our 3rd time staying here and we absolutely loved it. The staff, drinks, room and views are amazing. We definitely recommend to other and can’t wait to come stay here again in the future!
- 5/5
The property is really cool. I enjoyed the communal space: design and use. The rooms while small, are perfectly cozy. The lights were a fun feature.
- 2/5
Had to move rooms due to a/c not working. Room I moved to did not have a tablet. We asked for one and were told we could not be accommodated.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern and great staff
- 5/5
Design of everything
- 5/5
Fun stay, very good value for one or two people max
- 5/5
Enjoy staying in this hotel. Great location with a very trendy and funky vibe. I would definitely stay here again as the room was well designed, the bed was so comfortable and the amenities are great.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Small rooms, but very clean and perfectly suitable for our needs. Rooftop bar has fabulous views. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Overall very good experience and the staff was great
