Reviews
The hotel is praised for its convenient location and friendly staff, but criticized for its outdated facilities and limited breakfast options. Many guests found the rooms to be clean but in need of renovation, with hard or noisy beds being a common complaint.

Great location for subway. Best price in area. Overall good. AC was noisy but very good.

Loved it, great location.

Nice staff-very clean property. Only problem was air conditioning was noisy

Perfect stay
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and met every need we had. Love this little place and it’s super affordable to see NYC for a small family!
- 4/5
Great location with easy Subway access all around. The room was clean, quiet, and the AC was cold. The beds and pillows were a bit hard but we were to tired to care! This is a great property and a deal $.
- 4/5
Very old. Tub leaked. Breakfast was terrible
- 5/5
Staff are great and breakfast has great bagels and muffins. Rooms are a good size too. Would recommend
- 5/5
Located in a prime location, everything is close by.
- 4/5
It's a good hotel for a short stay, the staff is helpful, only one person in the front desk seems to have bad attitude. Room was very clean, and for NY was quite spacious, mattress and pillow are not very comfortable. It's a good area close to nice attractions. all in all, good choice for a tight budget and a short stay.
- 5/5
This was a great no frills hotel to stay, bed was comfortable, room was clean and location was easily accessible to most parts of the city
- 5/5
Staff was helpful. Breakfast was really nice.
- 5/5
2nd time staying here. Friendly staff and decent rooms. Location works great for us. Just a short run down the street to Time Square, Madison Square Garden and Central Park.
- 4/5
The Chelsea Savoy was clean and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very basic but comfortable and roomy enough. The beds had one pillow for each person and I thought the mattress was a little bit on the firm side. It wasn't terrible. The breakfast was muffins and bagels. They were of decent quality. No toaster but they had a microwave.

Bueno el desayuno
- 5/5
For what the Chelsea Savoy Hotel is it great! It is a good price (considering it is NYC), the staff were nice and helpful, the rooms a good size and clean, the AC (once turned on) cold, the ice machine worked, and the continental breakfast of bagels and muffins is a plus as a way to save money, They will hold your bags before check in and will hold them after check out without a fee (other places I stayed required a fee to hold them after). The location is convenient with a subway station across the street, a Target and Duane Reade and other little stores all within the block for any needs. I will highly consider staying there again on my future trips to the city.
- 3/5
Hotel is in a great location. We were able to score street parking right out front. The staff was pretty friendly. But the rooms were outdated. The beds were very uncomfortable 😕
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
Everyone was so nice. The cleaning staff and front desk were really friendly!
- 5/5
The hotel is conveniently located between two subway lines, but much cheaper than hotels further north. The stay includes breakfast of a pastry and coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean. My only suggestion would be to replace the individual soap and shampoo with more ecological larger bottles that don't need to be changed between guests.
- 5/5
Convenient location by subway, You feel like home. Friendly and helpful staff, Breakfast is very NY style, baked fresh every morning (never frozen) bagels. If you need anything extra - just ask, and you would get it.
- 5/5
Older hotel but good location Front desk staff helpful
- 5/5
Clean rooms, cute entry, secured entry
- 5/5
Talk about simplicity. This hotel is not super fancy or have the bells and whistles of others, but they practice a fair price, have comfortable rooms, a surprisingly 4-items delicious breakfast. On top of it, location is unbeatable, super central, easy to navigate everywhere from its location. It is uncomplicated as it can be. You get your keys, you go to your room, have a good night of sleep, come back in the morning for delicious bagels or muffins if you fancy it a bit more sweet. The room was spacious enough for our family of five, they considered every request on my reservation and were super quick to provide an extra bed when we arrived. My respect for all the staff that were impeccable on every iteration I had with them. I recommend requesting a room facing the back of the hotel if you have light sleep, because of the traffic.
- 5/5
Great location right next to the A line subway. The room was clean and the staff was helpful.
- 4/5
Clean and economical. Nice employees. Please have cream instead o whole milk with breakfast. The quantity o milk makes the cofee cold. Also, curtains are bolted to the wall.. They won't close so there is too much light.
- 4/5
Location was short distance to Subway station. Continental breakfast is just muffins, bagels and coffee. Soda machine was out of order the whole time we were there. There are several convenience stores near to purchase other snacks and food.
- 4/5
Breakfast was very very basic and inedible. A dry bagel and a sugary cupcake is all you get
- 4/5
Great location, breakfast could have been much more varied
- 3/5
Breakfast did not open until 8am. Beds were not comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff was realy friendly
- 5/5
Front desk and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location for the price!
- 5/5
The room is spacious and clean. The staff is very nice. It’s the ideal bed and breakfast hotel in Manhattan.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean but it reminded me exactly of a DAYS INN from the 80’s or 90’s. The mattresses obviously haven’t been replaced in a long time. Also, both elevators were broken while I was there but there was no email or text notification from the hotel. I waited for an elevator with my suitcase for at least 10-15 minutes before another guest informed me. Hotel was also SUPER noisy in the morning around 7 or 8. Guess housekeeping doesn’t mind if they wake guests.
- 4/5
All was good. One elevator was broken and on the morning we checked out, the other broke down.
- 3/5
Clean, inexpensive, good location.
- 5/5
Love the location!
- 5/5

Clean room. Great price with free breakfast. Good location and friendly staff. My go to hotel for NYC trips.

Clean room, nice staff, welgomina atrium and breakfast nook. Comfortable size room and comfy bedding
- 5/5
Close to 3 main subways Close to the high line Short walk to the Hudson Clean, helpful staff and the breakfast was excellent.
- 4/5
Good location, but a lot of street noise. Ran the AC unit and fan all night to drown out the noise.
- 4/5
This hotel was very clean and conveniently located in Chelsea. However, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. See we’re told by another guest in the morning to ask for a foam pad. We did, and the second night was much better. If the hotel knows their beds are so uncomfortable that they keep a supply of foam pads available, they should buy new mattresses!
- 3/5
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were decent and fairly clean, but it became quite noisy late at night due to guests in the adjacent room. I have stayed at similarly priced hotels around the Manhattan area that were noticeably quieter. Overall, the stay was okay, but noise may be something to consider if you are looking for a more peaceful sleep.
- 3/5
The hotel is very central and the room was fairly good value for money. Only book this hotel if you can be guaranteed a room away from the street. Next door pub noise and police and emergency sirens all night made it impossible to sleep at night as window is single glazed. Breakfast is only tea/coffee and a muffin/bagel.
- 5/5
We stayed here for 2 nights. Staff were very accommodating when we arrived a bit earlier- they kept our luggage while we explored. Our room was clean, and location was fantastic. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Breakfast was mediocre and couldn’t get even coffee until 8 am. AC was good and maid service excellent.
- 3/5
We reserved two rooms. One room on the 2nd floor was small, there were stains on the walls and the hallway carpet smelled. The other room on the 3rd floor had more room and looked cleaner in the hallway. The hotel could invest in better amenities, like toothpaste upon request, and better lotion, shampoo, conditioner (did not have any in the rooms) and body wash. The blinds in the room on the 2nd floor did not cover the entire window. Breakfast, which was included, was cold bagels and muffins with weak coffee. Air conditioning in both rooms thankfully worked well. Room on 2nd floor did not have any art work and the bathroom door barely cleared the dresser. I would not stay here more than one night, but it was in a prime location and very affordable.
- 4/5
Perfect location - near 3 major subway lines. Staff was great and they offered free coffee, bagels and muffins in the lobby each morning.
- 5/5
Staff was amazingly accommodating and very polite! Hotel is in a great location right across from 1 train.
- 5/5
Very welcoming, charming place.
- 5/5
Excellent, clean and well maintained hotel. Ideal for travelers looking for a straight-up hotel experience, all meat (great price, spacious and bright rooms, solid bed, effective AC, breakfast, human at front desk 24-7), no frills (no gym, no pool, no spa, no concierge, no restaurant, no kettle in the room). The rooms are spacious and bright, hotel is clean, paint is fresh, design and decor old school. There is a shared dining room on the main floor that's open 24-7 where you can bring your own food or just relax. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a well-priced, well-situated, solid hotel.
- 4/5
Good location and value for the price.
- 4/5
Room was spacious for a room in New York City. It was also very conveniently located in Chelsea for all of the subway stations. I am gluten-free, so did not have any options for my breakfast, but there are many bodega’s nearby that you can get fruit, yogurt, or other foods. The front desk was very attentive and there was somebody on the floor as a attendant for the floor to keep their floor, clean and attend any needs you have in your room.
- 4/5
Everything is great and location is super convenient. Our room is next to the street and had difficult time to sleep for the first night. Next time need to ask for the room not facing the street.
- 4/5
Very clean, extremely helpful and efficient staff, excellent location. Not fancy but met everyone's needs. Excellent value.
- 4/5
Breakfast was so-so. Same muffins and bagels every morning. No real cream so the coffee wasn’t to my liking. Very convenient location for our Manhattan exploration.
- 4/5
Con’s: A few tweaks would help, like some hooks on the walls near the door to hang jackets/bags, full length mirror, small corner bathroom shelf at chest level in the shower and some storage shelves in the wasted space under bathroom sink. The coffee was way too strong and they have no half and half, so you must microwave a lot of milk to even change the color of your coffee without cooling the coffee. A toaster for the bagels would be welcome. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and those little tweaks would really elevate your stay.
- 3/5
Average in many senses of this word. Very bad mattress, hard to sleep on
- 4/5
The room and facilities were clean. The staff is kind. The location is great. My only complaint is that it's a bit dour/dreary. So, if you're planning on spending loads of time outside of your hotel room, this place works. Clean, no-frills place to stay while you're in NYC
- 5/5
The breakfast should be a little bit more choice but everything else is good
- 5/5
Convenient and clean
- 5/5
Reasonable price. Very close to Subway (1). Great for quick bagel/muffin and coffee breakfast. Staff, especially Eva, always very nice. Rooms are a bit dated but when I'm in NYC, I don't spend much time in a hotel room.
- 4/5
The room was very clean and fresh smelling. Beds were not very comfortable, but we were so tired that we slept ok. Arrival was quick and easy and the front desk staff was friendly. We had a corner room and could hear everything on the streets outside. Maybe a back room would have been better.
- 5/5
It’s not a traditional American breakfast, but the bagels and muffins are good.
- 5/5
Great location, great breakfast, spotless.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and friendly
- 3/5
You get what you pay for
- 4/5
Check in was easy but the man said very little about the hotel. I had to ask about breakfast, no other information was given. Location was very convenient. Breakfast is bagels, muffins and coffee. Probably would spend a little more money for something more up to date but it was absolutely fine for one night.
- 3/5
The building is dated but it was clean and it was close to the subway stations. The staff were so nice and friendly. We had fresh towels whenever we asked for them. Breakfast was just bagels and muffins.
- 5/5
the air conditioner n bfast v good
- 4/5
More than sufficient for a stay visiting family in the area.
- 4/5
Had a great stay at the Chelsea Savoy - it had everything we could ask for such as an elevator, luggage storage when we arrived too early, easy access to 2 subway stops, and plenty of space in our room. My only complaint is that their windows should be a little more soundproof, the shower would make a high-pitched squeal if it was on for too long, and there was one morning where maintenance was being done and it was super noisy. Besides those notes, I’d probably return to this hotel again.
- 5/5
Loved this place, reasonably priced in great position and friendly staff
- 4/5
The hotel has good size rooms and the bathroom and shower are larger than expected. The bed is pretty comfortable but still basic. The overall stay was great except for the noise outside my window from a construction job which was still going strong at 1 AM. The hotel can’t control that but it’s something to be aware of. The location is great. Subway station right at the end of the block and easy to walk if you prefer to many sites. Front desk folks were helpful and the price was reasonable especially with NY standards.
- 4/5
Budget hotel in an excellent location. Clean room, good service.
- 1/5
The room was dirty, and the towels had yellow stains.
- 5/5
Well-situated, quaint hotel in central Manhattan. The double room (with double beds), although dated, was vey clean and well-equipped with a fridge. The wonderful staff couldn’t do enough for you, helpful to the utmost. Generous servings of muffins and bagels for breakfast and relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely return.
- 5/5
We did a over night girls trips. Beds were firm but super comfortable. We asked for extra pillows and towels since there were three of us and they were accommodating. Front desk workers were friendly and super nice. For the price I’ll 100% be staying again. Also breakfast had HUGE bagels and muffins.
- 5/5
Good location. Spacious room. Could use a little update but all in all a very enjoyable stay!!!
- 5/5
Great location . Friendly and very hospitable staff. Surely will come back here and will recommend to others.
- 4/5
The room was clean, the linen fresh and the staff was polite and professional. Their idea of a continental breakfast consisted of a muffin, or bagel, and horrendous coffee. No juice of any kind. I looked to the vending machine and it was out of order. A pleasant stay, though, considering the fee charged.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was friendly . Room wasn’t updated but it was spacious , clean , had a tv and mini fridge . They serve bagels , muffins , and hot drinks in the morning which is a bonus . The muffins are HUGE! I have no complaints and would definitely book with them again .
- 3/5
yes
- 4/5
I wish they would provide a coffeemaker in the room . Breakfast starts at 8 am and if you have to leave earlier than that it is a major inconvenience to not provide such a small amenity in the room
- 5/5
Excellent hotel. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff
- 4/5
This is a solid budget option for an NYC trip. The rooms are large, and the fresh bagels and muffins each morning are convenient on the go. The location is ideal for access to everything you could want to do or see in Manhattan. Now for the cons: hard mattresses, dated decor and furnishings, loose electrical sockets, and mediocre coffee at breakfast only (no in-room coffee makers). That said, I’d stay again!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 4/5
It was a nice one night stay over all, however if I was with my family I would choose a much nicer hotel
- 5/5
Great budget location between financial district and Times Square. Easy subway access. Simple bagel and coffee breakfast. Street side rooms hear outside happenings. Staff was helpful and friendly. We would stay again.
- 4/5
Hotel close to subway. Breakfast was large muffins and bagels with coffee. Room was clean.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff and excellent area to subway and transportation
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and convenient.
- 4/5
It was a good hotel well located where we wanted to be. The bed was not really comfy but it was good overall.
- 5/5
Stayed here for two nights midweek. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was bagels and muffins--nothing too fancy but filling. The staff is very accommodating. They allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel before we checked in and after we checked out. The location of the hotel is great--very convenient to the subway and lots of local places to grab a bite to eat.
- 4/5
It was a good cheap hotel
- 5/5
Perfect location and hospitality for our NYC visit. I highly recommend the Chelsea Savoy. They had everything we needed and more. Incredibly convenient.
- 3/5
The staff were very kind but the rest of the experience was very underwhelming. The beds were horribly hard, the bedding was ancient, there were long dark hairs in the bathroom tub.
- 5/5
The room was very cleaned and comfortable. I really appreciate how friendly and polite the staff were and how easy our check in was. Breakfast was a little simple (a bagel and coffee) but I usually don’t have a big breakfast so it was just fine for me. The hotel was in a great location and walking distance to good restaurants, transportation and attractions.
- 5/5
This is my favorite place to stay in manhattan
- 4/5
The room is small - I was thankful to be solo on this trip - but fine. Continental breakfast is a muffin/bagel and juice. It's certainly budget, but didn't have any issues to report. I'd actually stay here again without any reservation.
- 3/5
Very old furnishings, no coffee pot in room and lobby coffee not available until 8am.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The vending machine downstairs was not working, so there was no place to get bottled water, a soda or really anything to drink unless you bought it off property. The decor is definitely dated, but it was perfect for our weekend Stay in New York City.
- 5/5
👍
- 4/5
Staff was great. Hotel was a little dated, but was clean. Could use a toaster for the morning bagels. All-in-all a great value.
- 5/5
Size of the room was fantastic. Plenty of space. Breakfast was just bagels and muffins and coffee, but they were rather large. Perfect size to fill you up. There was a fridge in the room, so you can also get stuff from the market just across the street!
- 4/5
But ok overall for the price
- 4/5
Property is well cared for but on the older side- needs an update to bedding, beds and carpet. Priced well for location.
- 5/5
Perfect location!
- 5/5
This was a comfortable stay on a relatively quiet street. We appreciated the fresh coffee, bakery bagels and muffins every morning in a spacious sitting area. Subway line 1 right across the street takes you to shows, and West Village and East Village are both an easy walk from here. The room was clean and spacious and the service was friendly. Not too fancy but just right!
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
The owners could and should do a few minor upgrades to make your stay more pleasant. Replace the 19070’s windows with ones that are more energy efficient and sound proof. Patrons, if light sleepers, should bring ear plugs. If you stay in a street facing room you will be bombarded with sirens, screaming, and loud music from the street vendor all night long. Another review commented about the electrical plugs. And I wholeheartedly agreed. It’s a cheap and simple upgrade. It is a vital necessity in the technology age, especially for travels, to be able to charge devices in a reliable manner. The only plug in our room that functioned was the power strip someone installed behind the desk. No USB/C/iPone ports anywhere. Breakfast is muffins and bagels, only, and they are both very good. There is no toaster to toast the bagel but I think that is more of a function of eating them NYC style than a lack of customer service on the part of the hotel staff. However, a toaster costs very little and could potentially make so many happy. The coffee is very, very bad.
- 4/5
A rather basic, no-frills hotel but very convenient to everything including multiple subway lines in all directions, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. I would stay here again, as I’m usually highly on the go when I’m in nyc.
- 2/5
Not sure why the hotel gets good ratings other than location. Clogged tub. Worn out hotel. Good location.
- 4/5
Consistent service, clean room. Noisy by street.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is a little outdated for sure but the friendly staff more than makes up for it. From the front desk staff, the bellman and cleaning staff. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and welcoming. The luggage storage before and after checking in was very convenient. The hotel is in a great location, near a cute liquor store, market and a Whole Foods which was great for saving some money as well. We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location and size of room. Free breakfast is good too
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very clean room and common areas and overall a great spot for our small family.
- 5/5
Cozy room, excellent mattress and pillows, great fresh bagel and muffins for breakfast.
- 5/5
Room was clean. I agree with others that rooms are dated but u don’t care about that as much as clean. Rooms were impeccable clean, close to much of what you want to do in New York. Close to subways. Staff was ok but didn’t really have to interact with them too much other than check in and check out.
- 5/5
The property is very clean and in a great residential neighborhood. The rooms are pretty bare bones but who wants to hang out in the room when you're in New York City?? The bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and you couldn't beat the location. The staff was fantastic and very nice. Subway station is right on the same block. Would definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
The hotel is in a great location and has a lot of charm and character. There is a free breakfast but we only had the coffee which was terrible. The food did look fresh and delicious though. The beds in the room we had are old and could use some updating but the room was clean and was fine because we didn't spend a ton of time in it. The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful which made some of the not so great parts tolerable. If you plan to spend little time in your room this is a solid option.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Staff is great. Rooms are clean although outdated. Hotel is on a busy corner so you hear the traffic noises. All in all, a great price for the location and we would stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was clean and the staff were all very nice. Good location next to some very yummy hole-in-the-wall places for good food at a great price
- 3/5
Very dated hotel with super hard mattresses. The windows are very thin and you hear all the traffic noise from 7th avenue all night long. At one point I actually checked to ensure the window was closed because the traffic noise was so loud and it was 2am. The water pipes are very dated and make a ton of noise when you or the neighboring room are using the toilet or shower. Our sink handles leaked when you turned on the faucet so there was always water pooling. No security to get on and off the hotel elevator at any time. so anyone can push the. Button anytime of day and get off elevator whether it’s their floor or not! I picked due to location but probably won’t be staying here in the future.
- 3/5
The hotel is fine but a bit dated. We were put in a 2nd floor room with a window on 7th Ave. The curtain was ordimental and the roller blinds didn't close all the way. The street noise was pretty loud, especially on Friday night.
- 4/5
A great option for those just looking for a place to sleep/shower and explore the city from a central location. While it is dated (decor, scratched furnishing), it is very clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. 2 examples; even though is was just after 10 and breakfast was over, the attendant made a fresh pot of coffee; the front desk allowed me to store my bags all day after check out. The breakfast was fine-good muffins, bagels and coffee. That alone saves you $15 in NYC.
- 2/5
It's a very basic accommodation that is more expensive than it should be. The electrical outlet next to the bed was so worn out the plug wouldn't even stay in it! Super easy for them to fix that and it should not be in such poor shape!

Thanks

Air was a little fussy to work with. Gentleman downstairs at desk was a lot less helpful than others
- 5/5
This is a boutique hotel that is a little bit on the tired side, but is decently maintained, is quiet & clean, is in a great location and has an excellent attentive staff. I’ve stayed in a lot of budget hotels in Manhattan and this one is my favorite. Plus you get free excellent bagels every morning.
- 2/5
We cut our stay short and although the night before we were told that we could cancel the next night. BUT, when we went to check out, they told us that we had to take it up with Expedia. It was necessary to have an Expedia representative intervene in order to get our room refunded.
- 4/5
Mattress was very soft, but room was decent size for 3 people
- 5/5
Only there for one night, but the room was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the elevator was quick. Very close to everything we needed. Our only complaint was that breakfast didn't start until 8am on Sunday morning and we had to catch a train.
- 5/5
A good budget hotel. Excellent location, clean, with friendly staff.
- 3/5
The hotel was good but it was very noisy from street noise. The rooms would also very much benefit from black out curtains. Good location and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Clean and good place to sleep
- 3/5
Have been to this hotel
- 4/5
Very clean room. Excellent Staff. Shade wouldn’t stay drawn.
- 3/5
Just ok. Dated. Not very nice. Pretty lame breakfast (pastry or a bagel) and coffee bar. Fine. Helpful location in my friends neighborhood.
- 5/5
Very centrally located!
- 5/5
The hotel has many stores nearby. The location is great. The bagels at breakfast were delicious, and the staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Rooms were dated. But check in easy and breakfast nice
- 3/5
The room was not the cleanest, there was black stuff inside the sink knobs in the restroom. Shower head had black on it along with the shower faucet. The breakfast was a bit misleading , it’s just muffins and bagels but no toaster for the bagels.

We went downstairs to enjoy some hot tea and hot chocolate, and a staff member kindly helped me with the hot water machine when I wasn’t sure how it worked. Small gestures like that really stood out. Throughout our entire stay, the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They made it easy to approach them whenever we needed anything, and it was always pleasant seeing them at the door. At the end of our stay, they were very understanding about extending our time and allowed us to store our luggage for the day. This was especially helpful since one of us was traveling for work. When we returned later, one of the staff members immediately remembered us and knew we were there to claim our luggage — such thoughtful attention to detail. The housekeeping staff was wonderful as well. They provided extra towels without hesitation and promptly replaced our sheets when needed. Overall, our stay was memorable because of the exceptional people who work there. Not a single person missed the mark. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this hotel based on the outstanding service alone.

Very nice hotel in great location close to Penn Station but in the less crowded Chelsea neighborhood. Room was relatively large (for Manhattan) and clean. Staff all very responsive and friendly. Fresh bagels & muffins for breakfast included. Highly recommended for great value place to stay.

Very clean, staff incredibly polite and helpful. Well located in Manhattan to easily walk to SoHo or Central Park.
- 3/5
Room was clean and spacious. Fridge didn’t work and the shower was rusty. The water temperature was so hard to adjust. The water got either super cold or super hot.
- 5/5
Perfect location with the most amazing staff! An older building and rooms that are kept clean.
- 5/5
The hotel is a little older but very clean. This was our 3rd time staying there. We could choose a newer hotel but the location is so great. It’s super close to the subways, there’s a Target a block away, and Trader Joe’s is just around the block.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable stay
- 4/5
Everything was fine.. except the breakfast that was served after 8am... 7 am would be a better time to start even during the weekend
- 4/5
Overall, this place did the trick. The customer service a the front desk was excellent and the rate I paid was more than reasonable. This place is a bit dated and the rooms are bare bones but our room was mostly clean. There was a little bit of hair in the sink and tub, the toilet seat was loose, and the tub had a slow drain but it wasn’t the end of the world. The bagels and coffee in the morning were lights out! I probably won’t stay here again but I got my money’s worth. If you are just looking for a place in Chelsea to hang your hat, this place is fine.
- 5/5
This is our 3rd time staying at Chelsea Savoy and the place is just as we remembered. Our room was so clean and cozy with a beautiful view! The staff was kind as always with checking in our bags and replacing a light bulb that went out. I cannot recommend them enough :)
- 5/5
Large room ( i had the deluxe with 2 double bed), clean, free breakfast, great location!
- 3/5
Staff was great, but the room needed a complete renovation. Furniture is old & worn, beds are like sleeping on a board. Curtains are old & smell like smoke even though it was a “non-smoking” room. Elevators didn’t always work. Otherwise, the location was great.
- 4/5
The room was basic and the complimentary breakfast was underwhelming, but the location is what elevated the experience for me. It is directly across the street from the subway and near other attractions and shopping.
- 5/5
Excellent Customer Service, they even let us check in a bit earlier, room was very spacious and most important of all very clean.
- 5/5
Good value
- 5/5
Great loxarion, clean room.
- 5/5
There was a good customer service from the staff. I truly appreciated the offer the service of holding our bags before check-in and after check-in so that we can go ahead and roam around if you are hoping for an early check-in, I don’t think this is the place because they get booked quite often and pretty full capacity also, the room was standard. It was quite small but overall it was a good experience. The room can be a little bit loud on the second floor because of the street nearby
- 2/5
The staff was fine super courteous and welcoming. Once going up in the elevators and reaching our floor there was a heavy funky odor of idk laundry scent. It was artificial and thick on the tongue and throat. The room was the same. Wall to wall carpet and singe marks from cigarettes on the furniture. For a couple more bucks or less we could have stayed somewhere else and much nicer. Very noisy all night long.
- 5/5
Simple but very clean. Friendly stagf
- 4/5
Not fancy but clean and affordable, nice muffin and bagel breakfast. Friendly staff, my go to hotel!
- 5/5
Clean and comfy
- 5/5
Easy check in, clean and spacious and warm, good bed
- 3/5
the heater sounded like an airplane taking off and the bed was too soft
- 5/5
Clean room. Good view.
- 4/5
Staff was welcoming
- 4/5
Yes. Everything was great. Some minor comments. The WiFi was a bit slow. Hot water tap in the bathroom sink would run some dark brown liquid for a second or two. This consistently happened and seemed gross. The breakfast offered is quite minimal.
- 1/5
It’s a room…old, outdated, rusted & in need of basic repair. The tub had multiple rust stains, cracked tiles, the pillows are flat as a pancake and the towels so old & used have zero absorption & are sandpaper-like.
- 5/5
Staff was great. Room spacious and clean! Great location!
- 5/5
Yes. Room was clean and staff was very accommodating. Great breakfast
- 5/5
Staff are courteous and location is great.
- 4/5
With the very little interaction we had with the staff, I'd say they were nice.
- 4/5
Staff
- 4/5
The rooms were a good size. Continetal breakfast was good. People were friendly and helpful. One issue I had was a couldn’t keep the blind closed
- 2/5
Just felt old and smelled old
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, the rooms were good and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was muffins and bagels but they were good. There is street noise but two subway lines are available so the location is great. This is not the Ritz but a great place to stay in Manhattan.
- 5/5
Staff was great! Location was great! And the complementary pastry and coffee in the morning was also great!
- 5/5
Room was a little bit outdated, but the most spacious I ever found in NY - been traveling there every year since 2015. Staff extremely helpfull, cleaning service perfect. They keep things honest by offering pastries and muffins along coffee in the morning, what was another good reason to stay at this hotel. Just around the corner of a subway station, I highly recommend.
- 3/5
Staff was courteous. Very nice hotel. Only thing was that heat stopped wotking in our room at 3am when temperature was like 10 degrees outside. Didnt take ling for room to start freezing. Nothing could be done until 8am and then we decided to leave.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, but the beds were horribly uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a concrete slab. Some people like a firm mattress like that, but for us, it was not ideal.
- 4/5
The staff were really friendly. The room was also cleaned well. However, the water pressure was weak, which made showering inconvenient. The hotel's location right next to the subway station was very convenient. The hotel itself was quiet and everything else was great.
- 5/5
- 3/5
Price and location is the best you'll get. The rooms are clean but very old; prime but a little noisy. They gave us a sheet and two paper thin pillows, but plenty of towels and toiletries. We asked for extra pillows and it wasn't an issue. If you're doing a cheap short trip, its fine. But expect the bare minimum.
- 5/5
Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Located in a great area. Will stay again
- 4/5
The rooms was clean. The continental breakfast was good, fresh daily bagels. Missing would be a microwave in each room. Not a fancy hotel, but clean and does the job. Liked that location was situated between several major subway lines which made the subway adventure easier and less confusing. Walked to MSG and several good restaurants. Electrical outlets was a hit or miss.
- 5/5
Near the train and plenty of restaurants/bars nearby which makes it convienent. The staff is very helpful, i would definetly come back and stay at chelsea savoy.
- 5/5
First time in New York this hotel had a spacious room which was clean and fresh. All the staff are friendly and the rooms are cleaned regularly. The breakfast is pretty much the same every day with bagels and muffins tea coffee water etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and the location is great. I will definitely be staying again
- 5/5
Every aspect of our stay was superb. The cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of all the staff and the access to the comfortable public space downstairs. We look forward to returning soon to enjoy more time at the Chelsea Savoy. Also, the location was fabulous.
- 4/5
The room was clean. The bed could have been more comfortable. But it was everything you needed for a hotel in the middle manhattan. It’s safe. It’s quiet. Good hotel especially if you plan on roaming New York more rather than stay in your room.
- 5/5
Conveniently located, very clean room, nice bathroom with tub, courteous staff---just a great place at a good price in NYC!
- 5/5
Great staff, central to subway and comfy room. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Had an amazing time staying here. All the people were super friendly and helpful - loved the vibe and just a great accommodation for the greatest city. very good breakfast as well.
- 3/5
Truly, it was a great stay !! however it lacked some common yet modern features. We had a lot and heavy luggage. The two sets of double, front doors were vintage, on par with the aesthetic yet very uncomfortable to navigate through on our own with no push to open access. Important to note for guest with disabilities like myself. We only had access to one outlet and one power strip on the other side of the room, so we couldn’t keep our phones close to us when charging No gym, but we know that upon booking. It does have a refrigerator, which I was not aware of so that’s a plus. And breakfast was exclusively bakery items that could not be toasted. Coffee with no milk alternatives.
- 5/5
Very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this City hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room and location
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Good value for money
- 5/5
Very clean, spacious room. Not fancy but comfortable. Friendly staff. Ideal location for Chelsea, Village, SOHO, MOMA and the Whitney.
- 4/5
Everything was fine but the heat kept kicking on and off and was very noisy.
- 5/5
Great hotel for a New York visit. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Morning pastries/bagels were perfect for a start to the day. Staff was always friendly and the location (on the #1 train line) made it easy to get either uptown or downtown. I would def stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location! Very walkable area that is convenient to the subway. Staff were wonderful and very accommodating with keeping our luggage when we arrived early. Everything was clean. If I could add a couple things, I would’ve appreciated more places to charge phones/devices and a bigger variety for breakfast. I will say, the muffins looked very tasty. All in all, I’d stay again!
- 5/5
Great location and very friendly staff. Really an amazing deal in NYC; wake up to endless coffee and fresh bagels, clean bathroom/shower. I will absolutely stay there again when I'm back in the city
- 5/5
Staff was amazing, Hotel is a little old but clean and everything works
- 4/5
Good, clean room but quite a distinct musty smell in the room that is almost overwhelming on the main floor of the hotel.
- 5/5
Excellent location, spacious clean rooms cleaned on a daily basis, good breakfast (great bagels), helpful staff
- 5/5
Great location- close to many trains-clean- friendly staff- coffee, bagels and muffins every morning. Best hotel option in NYC
- 5/5
Great value! Good location! The bed wasn’t the best but no complaints because the price. We were on the second floor and it was a bit noisy from cars, sirens etc. but it’s New York so I cannot complain about that.
- 5/5
Basic room in a great location. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Bagels and muffins for breakfast.
- 4/5
Very noisy due to being on a main street. Sirens all night. Earplugs recommended. Bathroom very dated and shower pressure was terrible.
- 3/5
The staff was great! They were the best part of the hotel! It is definitely outdated. There were lots of random stains both in the hallway and in the room. The bed was the most uncomfortable, hard bed I have ever slept on. Somehow the pillows were harder than the mattress. It was safe and the size of the room was great!
- 4/5
Check-in was easy. The room was clean.
- 4/5
Great
- 5/5
Quarto grande Bom atendimento Bem limpo
- 4/5
The room was clean, but simple very basic but in a good location for subway and bus travel
- 3/5
The room was very spacious for a New York City hotel room. But it was very old and plugging your phone and was not easy as all the plugs fall out of the wall and are in difficult locations. But it had everything you needed and ironing board a hairdryer the TV it was warm. The bed mattresses were terrible. But we were so tired. It didn’t matter. Breakfast was fabulous. They bring muffins and bagels from a bakery, and they are delicious and the coffee was good too. The location is great.
- 5/5
Easy access and Jake’s bar was fun
- 3/5
I thought the complimentary breakfast options were exceptionally good! And the staff was very nice and accommodating.
- 3/5
Staff being nicer. Also it said breakfast included but it was just complimentary pastrys and coffee.
- 3/5
Room was basically furnished. Simple accommodations. Safe is antiquated and required a key to use. Hotel was quiet. Location was very good. Breakfast was a disappointment - just coffee, with other drinks in a vending machine. Hardly a continental breakfast!
- 5/5
There was a delicious breakfast and the staff was helpful. It was also very convenient to have the 1 and F so close by for getting to downtown manhattan.
- 4/5
We stayed 36 hours in NYC and this hotel was adequate. It is dated and the beds were squeaky but comfortable enough. Hot water in the shower. It was clean and in a safe neighborhood. Very nice staff! We did not eat breakfast but it is offered which is nice for NYC.
- 4/5
Location is excellent, near of iconic attractions in NYC. The staff was great
- 5/5
Clean room, very personable staff, great location, feeling of being in an old style NYC hotel, not bland like chain hotels
- 5/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
Room was decent and good for its price! Staff were very helpful and welcoming especially our housekeeping lady. Breakfast is okay - it does its job!
- 4/5
Location good , hotel nice and clean but couldn’t sleep whole night because of construction noise
- 4/5
The only downside for us was there was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, there is a free breakfast between 8-10am which we didn’t use as we were up and out before then exploring the city. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
- 3/5
Service fair
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
Shower had great water pressure. The rooms are very out dated but they are clean. Staff was helpful. I would stay there again
- 4/5
Lovely, nicely appointed hotel around 24 blocks from Times Square. Clean & well-maintained. The continental breakfast was a nice touch (muffin or bagels w/ coffee & tea). Recommended for those travelers needed a reasonable overnight stay convenient to theater district.
- 5/5
My room was nice had a great view. The staff was amazing. Very noisy location from downtown New York. I definitely would stay here again
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly. Rooms were clean and it was close to Penn station.
- 4/5
Pillows are very bad, mattress is feels super cheap but its ok. Super noise street non-stop honking, sirens but i still loved it.
- 4/5
Room could use updating
- 5/5
Lena was great, over the top
- 5/5
Clean room, beautiful building that felt nostalgic (but not in an outdated way). Very friendly staff and great breakfast offerings the next day. Would stay again (and probably will). The Christmas decorations were lovely.
- 5/5
Great location , friendly staff , muffins and bagels were delicious
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 3/5
Very nice hotel. The staff is truly friendly and always willing to help. Cleanliness is excellent. Breakfast was good and met expectations. Recommended.
- 4/5
It was a good value for New York. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Propery just needs some TLC. No frills experience but no complaints
- 2/5
The woman at the front desk was on a video call the entire time, and I wasn’t able to check in. I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff very accommodating and helpful. Perfect location. Beds/mattress poor. It was like sleepy on an over-filled air mattress-way too hard and actually squeaked when you moved. Had interior 3rd floor room so very quiet! Nice selection of baked goods for the continental breakfast with a nice dining area.
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious, breakfast was an added bonus. Easy walk to Times Square.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, nice room, excellent location
- 5/5
fantastic staff for check in - great bagels for breakfast - great location
- 5/5
Highlights for us was having a spacious room, a fridge, iron & hairdryer. Down points it was a little dated and was a bit noisy with the traffic at night. Also could have done with extra pillows. But that has not put us off in returning. We enjoyed our 4 night stay.
- 4/5
Great location. Friendly staff. The rooms were basic, though. The bathroom faucet leaked as you were using it.
- 5/5
Location absolutely fantastic 20min walk to Times Square or subway outside hotel Room lovely Excellent hotel will highly recommend to anyone staying in New York The bagels and muffins for breakfast where delicious 10/10
- 5/5
All of the above
- 2/5
Disappointing, very basic ... not as described
- 4/5
Anytime I had an issue the staff was quick to resolve it. The remote didn’t work for whatever reason and they sent someone up right away with a new one. I asked for an additional pillow (only provide to for the whole bed) and they quickly brought up 3 more.
- 5/5
Room was clean and very spacious for a NY hotel. Perfect location.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel - amazing staff, clean facilities, great atmosphere. This is my 2nd time staying in this hotel and there will be a third.
- 2/5
Good god the beds are basically box springs. Don’t look around too much, you’ll find problems with everything. This is a decent location for travelers and not vacationers. Never again even for the price
- 4/5
Everyone was very sweet. Room was clean, had everything I needed.
- 5/5
good sized NY room. Clean. Daily cleaning service. Friendly and competent staff. Great Manhattan location.
- 4/5
Room with two beds was great for my 2 daughter and myself. The location was excellent - close to everything. And believe it or not - the breakfast was excellent bagels and muffins (real NY food - not that packaged crap). People were very helpful. Not the most "glam" place - but you're in NYC - we were there for the city, not really looking for a hotel to hang in. We went exploring!!
- 5/5
Staff was courteous. Room was clean. Area around the hotel was nice.
- 5/5
the room was clean and enough for 4 people. the staff was nice
- 4/5
I throughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were lovely and amenable. The room was clean and contained the basics. The location was wonderful; close to several subway lines and with excellent access to both north/south and east/west bus lines. It is a safe neighborhood. Included breakfast is bagels , muffins and beverages. If you don't mind a hotel that is esthetically worn and stained but comfortable I would highly recommend.
- 3/5
The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear people talking in the hallway and in rooms around you. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable as well. Not very thick mattresses, and the pillows were like paper. Other than that, the hotel was fine! Definitely check out 7th street burger across the street.
- 5/5
Robert at the front desk was great!! We arrived in the city early and went to drop off our luggage but he checked us in early at 9am! He was wonderful, very accommodating, and informative! The room was nice and clean!
- 3/5
Although the price was reasonable, the room was run down. The wood furniture was severely worn, and the room had a musty smell. On a positive, the location was excellent. Central and close to subway hubs. It met our need.
- 5/5
Staff were friendly, room was made up each day
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet, great location
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice, clean, beautiful hotel. Pleasant staff, easy check in. Good location, very convenient to subway.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and very nice staff that let us do a late check out! Will definitely be coming back
- 4/5
All is good
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was nice. Solid breakfast every morning.
- 4/5
Staff was great. The room was fine.
- 5/5
The people in charge were friendly and accomodating
- 4/5
Otherwise the place was clean and "fine." The Room temperature could be controlled and we were comfortable.
- 3/5
Room was okay, electric outlet non functioning , breakfast only bagels or muffins
- 5/5
The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The location was very convenient.
- 4/5
Our room was clean and decent. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
The hotel is very outdated and needs some work. Room was clean and the bathroom was completely outdated and had issues with the shower making loud squealing noises the entire time while showering. There was also a squishy bathmat in the bathtub which is completely unsanitary. The walls are so thin that we could hear the person next door peeing in the toilet. The room did not accommodate proper outlets next to the bed for phone charging. The hotel staff was very nice and held our luggage for the day of check out and also gave us a late check out. Over all we wouldn’t stay here again unless it’s completely renovated. Reading the reviews beforehand was very misleading because the reviews were for the Chelsea hotel next door not this hotel. The building also had a D rating on the front door.
- 2/5
Beds extremely uncomfortable without warm bedding. Rust abundant in the bathroom. Stains on the carpeting. Elevator vibrated and made noises that sounded like the cables were ready to come untethered. I didn't even look for the continental breakfast.
- 5/5
I expected a very nice stay and that is exactly what I got. Refurbished, but Super clean and fresh. Bagels and Cream Cheese were quite excellent, I just wanted some bacon and eggs.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and there was daily housekeeping. We didn't have the breakfast, so I can't attest to that. The location was perfect for us and there was so much around it. It was very convenient with access to many restaurants within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay there.
- 5/5
The room was clean and nice. We were on the second floor facing the street so there was a lot of street noise but it was fine with ear plugs. We really liked the breakfast bagels and muffins, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
- 4/5
Courteous staff, older but clean room. Great location.
- 5/5
Great welcome and keep clean
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
- 3/5
When you turned on the hot water, the water was brown.
- 4/5
Courteous staff. Very clean. Noisy location.
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
Room was so hot, unit didn’t work for long when you changed temp it seemed to be preset at one temp. Remote didn’t work asked for batteries they wanted to come up to room and check remote. Desk guy was kinda rude
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a no frills hotel, but very clean and great staff! Conveniently located near subway. Easy walking to most things
- 5/5
Only negative was the toilet and sink were a little cramped ..sink kinda overlapped toilet...hard to sit ..lol
- 5/5
I stayed 3 nights and everything was perfect! The staff are very friendly and always accommodating. I definitely will return!
- 3/5
No breakfast.
- 5/5
Clean room.
- 5/5
Northeast family trip. Nice older hotel in the middle of Chelsea. Right to subway, restaurants everywhere, safe area and breakfast muffins were good. Parking in the nearby garage was $90 per day.
- 5/5
I'm staying at Chelsea Savoy whenever I'm i. NYC. Awesome hotel! :)
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect.
- 5/5
Fantastic location and walking distance to the subway. They only supply pastries and tea/coffee for breakfast
- 4/5
The air conditioning was effective. The rooms are spacious. The hotel is old. The bathroom is old and needs to be renewed. The breakfast is disappointing. Not even hard boiled eggs, not even toasted bread. Still, for the price and the location, the hotel is a good deal.
- 3/5
My room needed updating. The carpet was old. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattress very hard and cheap. It was one step up from sleeping on the floor. The sheets were scratchy, not soft. The staff were polite. The continental breakfast was decent, some healthier options like fruit, yogurt and nuts would have been nice. I appreciated being able to lock up our suitcases prior to checking in as we arrived early. The location was good, nice central location. Due to the uncomfortable bed, I did not sleep well and I woke up with body aches. For this main reason, I would not recommend staying here. Everything else was fine for the price.
- 5/5
Great value in perfect location
- 4/5
Good location and the price was good
- 5/5
Here are a list of the things we loved: - the room size was more than adequate. We had a queen bed, a closet, plenty of drawers, a large desk and chair, and a nice-sized bathroom. - our view out of our large window was quintessential NYC neighborhood. The top of the Empire State building lit up at night was also visible. - As two females traveling alone, we never ever ever felt unsafe: not in the hotel, not in the neighborhood. - The location was superb! We were surrounded by metro stations, making it quick and simple to get anywhere we wanted to go in the city. We also took advantage of the $1.50 pizza across the street as well as the cozy and clean little neighborhood market for fresh foods, fruits, and drinks. - The breakfast and breakfast room was more than adequate. How can you complain about delicious and free bagels and muffins, coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa, and a clean dining room to sit in with a view of the neighborhood? - We got into the city earlier than we could check in, and our flight out was four hours after checkout. No problem! The hotel was more than happy to hold our bags for us in a locked room, and while we waited, we explored the city. - Wifi was flawless. Easy to connect. We will absolutely stay here again and again and again!
- 4/5
Very clean spacious room and en-suite. Great location subway stops outside door and easy walking distance to paces. Lovely helpful friendly limited facilities
- 5/5
Complimentary breakfast is muffins and bagels. Second time staying at this hotel. Very clean and excellent staff. Only con is dim lighting in the room.
- 5/5
The area is great. Loved having Jakes saloon right next door. Staff was extremely great!
- 5/5
What a lovely place with a very friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious — even the coffee was soooo good.
- 5/5
Location was great ! Staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
Good location close to Penn station. Shopping nearby. Amazing bagels and muffins for complimentary breakfast. Room dated but clean. Bed was super hard and uncomfortable.
- 3/5
Rust colored water would pour from faucet on occasion. Beds were too firm for my preference. Staff was helpful and kind. Pillows were far too hard. Air conditioning was great.
- 4/5
The room was clean and staff helpful, responsive, and friendly. The location was the best part-we could walk to several major sights and restaurants.
- 4/5
View of the Empire State. Staff were fine. Wifi good. Good base for exploring NYC and bear the subway.
- 5/5
Great location! Clean room
- 4/5
The location was great and Subway accessible. The room was a little run down, as it had seen better days. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast service was satisfactory. Too pricey for the conditions of the room and the hotel in general.
- 5/5
Convenient location and courteous staff
- 5/5
This is the 3rd time staying here...good value and awesome staff
- 5/5
We stayed for 4 nights. Its a very basic hotel however has everything you need for a stay. Staff were all lovely but the location was amazing. Would stay here again as everything else elae in the city is incredibly overpriced. Ome criticism would be the beds are very loud and creaky but that xan be changed.
- 3/5
The beds were very hard & uncomfortable. Not to mention the plastic wrapping sound every time you moved.
- 5/5
I can’t say any different that THANKS A LOT for the wonderful service in this hotel. The room was absolutely clean, beds are very comfortable, bathroom was immaculate. The breakfast was awesome. Everyday we had good coffee and pastries to begin our journey. The location is A+ transportation is excellent. And the staff is the best: Alvina, Agy (breakfast’s lady, Iva, Mariana and the rest of guys between maintenance and others men in the front desk. I absolutely recommend this hotel!!!
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Chelsea Savoy and would definitely stay there again. The rooms were clean, the A/C was fantastic and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that I wouldn’t have minded a few more options for breakfast. The bagels were great, muffins a bit too dessert-like, and some fruit and protein (egg or yogurt) would have been nice. Overall our stay was great!
- 3/5
The location was great. The breakfast here is not very good with very little seating and drink options were limited. The bed was terrible; it was like sleeping on the ground. And they only like to give 2 towels even though we had 3 people.
- 3/5
Beds are small (full not queen). Hotel is old and needing renovations. Cheaper than other hotels, so okay if price is of paramount importance.
- 5/5
Slightly outdated but extremely clean. Subway within a stones throw. Breakfast could be improved on, maybe a juice option available. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. I would stay again.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a great location, close to the subway and easy to get around. However, we arrived about an hour and a half before check in and was told we had to wait until 3 to check in. After grabbing a bite to eat and returning to the hotel we were still not able to check in. The gentleman running the front desk proceeded to have a conversation with someone on his cell phone via speaker phone, very unprofessional. We had to wait until exactly 3 to check in, I can honestly say that I have never had to wait for the exact time for check in, ever at any hotel. I do quite a bit of traveling and this was a first! Your options for breakfast are a bagel, muffin, coffee or water everyday. There is one person working the breakfast area and the area is small. There were a lot of people staying at the hotel so it was very crowded and slow going. I mentioned something to the front desk that they should have more then one person working the breakfast area and the front desk women apologized for the inconvenience. However the next morning was even worse and there were two people at the front desk chatting away while the poor women serving breakfast was trying to keep up with the demand of people. I gave up the last two days I was there and grabbed breakfast somewhere else.
- 5/5
While dated the room was adequate for 3 nights in the city. The staff were attentive and all requests were meet. Complimentary breakfast of muffins, bagels and tea or coffee was all we needed on the day we used it. The location was close to Times Square & subway.
- 5/5
one of the best hotel to stay
- 4/5
Friendly staff and the place was pretty clean. The only thing that seemed strange was the gousekeeper was right outside our door each morning, almost as if waiting for us to come out. She’d ask what we needed, almost as if she didn’t want to come in and do a full service like make beds and such. It’s close to the subway which I appreciated.
- 3/5
The property is in an excellent location and the staff was friendly. The rooms are very outdated and a simple facelift would add a lot to the stay.
- 2/5
Very small hotel. Rooms so tiny! Clean enough but cost too much for what was given.
- 5/5
It’s a good place

Clean hotel in the Chelsea neighborhood. Good value. Friendly staff. Beds were definitely on the lower end. Hard as a rock. Everything else was find though.
- 5/5
Excellent position and area close to the subway to move easily around the city. It's okay for a quick stay in NY.
- 5/5
Dated but very clean. Staff very attentive. Good location accessible to everywhere
- 4/5
Needs some work. Electrical cords all over it.
- 5/5
The staff was always friendly and helpful. We were able to have a simple breakfast of muffins/bagels and coffee/tea. The hotel felt safe because the police took their morning breaks in the breakfast room. We had room for two adults and two teenagers-two beds. It was small, but sufficient. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. The air conditioner in the room was a bit loud, but functionable.
- 5/5
Tea or coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice but that’s a bit nitpicky since there are many options To get a drink right outside. Would stay again, I’m surprised it’s only a two star hotel.

Good

But its right near the Subway and an easy walk to lots of the places you might visit

Great location. We stayed for a week. Room was good, although the decor is a little outdated. Shower head was leaking everywhere, but we managed somehow.
- 5/5
Basic hotel but very clean and friendly staff. Quiet and clean rooms. Nice area with tables to sit at or to have breakfast. Plentiful bagel/muffins/coffee tea for breakfast and those were still available all morning.
- 4/5
Good location, clean room and nice staff
- 4/5
Very difficult to drive to, limited and expensive parking.
- 3/5
The location to Penn Station and subway is great. Staff was polite and professional. My only disappointment was the mattress, which was old and very worn. Fortunately my stay wasn’t long term.
- 4/5
Public transport excellent access. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean. The rooms are dated but in working order. Bed was old and hard, due for replacement. Breakfast was simple and delicious, bagels, muffins, tea and coffee.
- 5/5
Clean room in a great location.
- 4/5
Area and location is the best part of the hotel. Bed not so much.

All staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Free pastry and coffee each morning which is a great start to the day. Well situated beside two subway lines.
- 5/5
Enjoyable stay at Chelsea Savoy. Staff were friendly and efficient, lots of shops and subway near hotel and only ten minutes walk away from Penn station.
- 4/5
Is good only they need to fix bathroom door
- 5/5
Close to subway. Many restaurants and stores in the area. Clean, adequate size, refrigerator in room. Breakfast was included however we did not try it.
- 3/5
I didn´t like the breakfast, but everything else was OK
- 3/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and very friendly. However the hotel is very dated which is fine other than the mattresses. Unfortunately I have a back problem and the mattress is very old and very uncomfortable. Some people may not be affected but if you have any back issues the mattress will cause you harm. I could barely walk while I was there. I probably should have left and got another hotel but there was nothing close that was an affordable option. I ended up rolling towels and getting extra pillows for extra support. The location is great and subway is right next door. I would absolutely go back if it weren't foe the terrible beds.

Great breakfast
- 4/5
The staff were friendly from check-in to housekeeping to the breakfast coffee & pastry assistance. Hotel felt safe and was convenient to transportation (even walking to pizza down the block at midnight). Only downs were the 'cleanliness'- room carpets were suss... Bed was like a hard crib mattress on a plank; so think modest and manageable. Would still book again!
- 5/5
Rooms are clean and the bed was oddly super comfortable without any fuss. Staff are super friendly. Low pile carpet floor was very clean. Great location close to train station. Tasty bagels and muffins as complementary breakfast. Very quiet unlike what I first was worried about. Great stay overall!
- 2/5
The bathtub drain was rusted the power points n the bathroom next to water were gaping away from the wall The last day cockroaches came from under the bed and the repair man had left open screw holes with plastic plugs I went down for breakfast that started at eight we went to enter the dining room at five past eight and were yelled at and the door locked and paying guests were not allowed in the dining room but local cops used it as a break room at anytime during the day a dozen cops were seated in there smoking and eating for free
- 5/5
Room was clean.
- 4/5
It was fine. Convenient for my trip.
- 5/5
They have free ice. Great location-not fancy but was perfect for us.

1) Our first night in 502 was like sleeping on the floor. It felt like they forgot to put a mattress on. The staff was very accommodating and gave us one with a comfortable bed. This suprised us because everything is usually good. 2) I’ve never stayed anywhere that you had to wait until 8 am to get coffee. Many of us get up much earlier and coffee is usually out most of the days anywhere else. Love to see this implemented before our return in a few months. You asked so I let you know. If you don’t listen it’s on you. Everything else was great and we’lol come back.

Priced perfectly
- 4/5
Everything was really good! I just felt like I was sleeping on cardboard cause the bed kinda sucked. And the mini fridge did smell a little weird when I took my water out of it. Other than that it was clean and in a very good location.
- 3/5
No hot breakfast. Muffins were nice, but not suitable for breakfast. Spots to eat close by.
- 2/5
The hotel had good reviews, but it falls short in many aspects. It’s well-outdated, with many things broken. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. It was outdated with a rusty bath tub, and the lack of maintenance was clearly visible. The first room we had had a bath that was a safety hazard, with paint and enamel chipping that could cause cuts and infections. I requested a change, and the second room was a bit better. Breakfast was also below minimum expectation. We were only given a choice of a cupcake or buns, and coffee or tea. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Good location, breakfast limited but bagels and muffins are good
- 2/5
They love to say they have “free breakfast” but it’s gross diner coffee and gross muffins. And they don’t start breakfast until 8am, which is really inconvenient. On one day, the breakfast woman wasn’t ready at 8 because she needed to go upstairs to get her large drink. She came back down at 8:05 and there were about 30 of us waiting to get inside. So yeah, I guess she was the only one that could open the door and stand behind the counter guarding the muffins. Stupid.

Tge hotel is conveniently located to teansportation and attractuons. Its clise to multiple subway lines, the Highline and a mile from Time Square.
- 5/5
Decent straightforward hotel for a 2-day work trip
- 4/5
staffs are nice; too noisy!!!
- 3/5
The free breakfast consisted of muffins, bagels, coffee and tea. I was too early for check-in, so while sitting in the lobby planning my day, I had to listen to the woman behind the front desk berate her coworker, yelling at him for a solid 10 minutes about a mistake he made. It was embarrassing and unprofessional.
- 5/5
The staff was pleasant. The breakfast was very minimal. The rooms were clean. The location is great. However, the windows do not help eliminate any of the outside noise. A bit hard to sleep.
- 5/5
Wonderful spot in the heart of Chelsea! Friendly, simple, clean, comfortable. Perfect for our family visit. My only concern was that electrics weren't updated, so not many ports for plugging in devices. But very minor ... would stay again!
- 4/5
The location is the plus for the Chelsea Savoy. The staff is great, and the basic needs are met here. There are lots of international visitors staying here, and it’s a very interesting place.
- 3/5
I thought that the staff were plesant and kept the hotel very clean. However the internet did not function well, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like I was.sleeping on a bed of rocks.
- 3/5
Conveniently located and more affordable.
- 4/5
Good location!
- 5/5
Thank you for the breakfast. Our family enjoyed so much. Please keep it up. We planning to stay in your hotel next year for summer.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay
- 3/5
However, the room is pretty dated and carpet definitely hosts a history of old stains. I had to let the shower run for a bit because originally the water was a strange colour. My room faced the street and I could hear a lot of noise late into the night. There is free coffee and bagels/muffins in the morning, but there's no toaster. Good for a short trip, but not sure if I would stay here again.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. Eva at the front desk was super accommodating, friendly, and a jokester which made chatting with her a great time. The room was clean and quiet and very convenient to where we needed to be. If we ever have a chance to stay here again we definitely will!
- 4/5
Over all it was a good stay.

An honest and clean hotel

The room is very basic no coffee machine no water .i also need to get reimbursed for the wrong booking zi did for 24 and cancelled

EVERYTHING! VERY PLEASANT STAY

The only downside were the mattresses. I had 2 rooms with 2 double beds. Everyone in my group agreed it was difficult to sleep. Mattresses are as hard as the floor. Aside from that, everything else was awesome.
- 4/5
Affordable, good value for location. Room was very clean and had a fridge which was nice. I was very impressed with the free breakfast - a great selection of real NYC bagels. Only drawback was that the hot water for bath/shower was inconsistent.
- 5/5
- 3/5
Breakfast is included but it’s a muffin and oversize bagel with tea or coffee No Toaster Location was good Definitely wouldn’t let you check in before 3pm
- 5/5
Very polite service. We appreciated the bagels and muffins for breakfast. The double room was clean and fairly large.
- 5/5
I liked how clean and safe it was

on skin. Didnt like bedding....hard on skin. Staff provided great customer service. Location was great and breakfast enjoyed. Quiet stay made it perfect for a good nights rest.
- 3/5
The bathroom tub was not draining and the toilet had to be flushed 2 times before emptying. The breakfast choices very limited but we made it work. Close to subway stations so that was a plus
- 4/5
Perfect spot in Manhattan to stay. The staff and service from them all is AMAZING - so accommodating and friendly. The hotel itself is a little dated, but if you don't mind that it's a perfect place to stay for your trip to NYC
- 4/5
Great area - close to the subway - close to restaurants
- 5/5
Great location next to a central subway line. Large room, moderate price. Good bagels or muffins and coffee each morning.
- 3/5
Staff is very friendly, but the hotel, especially the rooms are in desperate need of a update.
- 3/5
It was just ok. They never supplied enough towels so we had to request them daily. Our shower dripped the whole time with rust in the tub. It was convenient and we did not spend much time in our room.
- 5/5
It was a fine hotel, nice breakfast and close to the subway.
