Great location! Just a few blocks from the theatres on the upper side of Times Square and a few blocks from Central Park. Several good restaurants nearby. Free breakfast. Excellent staff. Rooms were very well appointed and spacious enough. Immaculately clean. Free breakfast was nice but there was also an evening wine reception included. Luggage could be stored during the day. Really great shower. Fridge in room. Easy access to subway. I probably can’t afford to stay there again but sure would like to.

At breakfast on May 28, I took one bite of a packaged bagel and discovered it had mold. I then checked the expiration date printed on the plastic bag, and it appeared to be expired. I shared this only as helpful feedback for quality control. Overall, we appreciated the care we received and would be happy to return in the future.

I stayed here with my young daughter so we could explore Central Park for a couple days. We only stayed one night but it was very clean and very close to Central Park. We rented bikes right downstairs at Fancy Apple and it was convenient. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and professional. The snacks, water and coffee station and the afternoon wine and cheese were very useful as I was traveling with a child and food and drinks are so pricey in the city. There were to go boxes at the breakfast station so we packed up some breakfast items and picnicked at the park. When we checked out we were able to leave our bags with the hotel while we went to the MoMA which is only a few blocks away. When we returned we were able to use the hotel's guest bathroom and lounge area to rest for a few minutes before we headed back to the train station. We were very happy with the hotel and it's location. The only cons were the view (we looked out at scaffolding so pay extra for a view if it's important to you) and the mini fridge didn't really stay cool. We'll stay here again on future Central Park trips for sure!

Room was on 19th floor and there was intermittent clanking banging noise. Might have been from the elevator but not sure. The elevator while riding up has a loud clanging when it passed around the 19th floor. Should fix that.

Be prepared for very small rooms which are well designed and efficient. I’d go back although I definitely missed having a comfortable chair for relaxing. The location is perfect.

Breakfast and cocktail hour were good. We liked that there’s a coffee machine that’s available in the dining area 24/7. We did not rent a car, can’t comment on parking situation. Staff were very helpful and nice.

We were put in “the only room they had” and it was terrible. Sliding doors which couldn’t be opened anyway, faced an enclosed wooden deck and roof. No daylight coming in from any direction. Ridiculous. Nothing like this was disclosed at the front desk. Teeny tiny sitting area for continental breakfast, and also dark.

The staff were exceptional and very friendly. The one issue I had with my room was attended to very promptly. The happy hour was appreciated and it was lovely to have drinks and snack available all the time. The room was a bit noisy during the nighttime. This was noise from the street.

We had a great stay at the Carnegie ! Loved the wine and cheese at 6:00!

Great location, clean rooms and helpful staff. Rooms are very small, slightly larger than a cruise ship cabin, but it is New York. The bathrooms are also very tiny and tight. The bathrooms also have opaque glass on the sliding door that opens right onto the King Bed, which woke my wife up when I would get up to run in the morning. I would stay here again and the location is excellent but would opt for a little larger room with a larger bathroom offset from the room itself. It was very central to Carnegie Hall, Central Park, the Theatre District and Times Square.

All staff were wonderful, location only 5 minutes walk from Times Sq and Central park, underground station next to hotel A towelling robe in bedroom was really thoughtful, excellent shower, and very comfortable bed and we didn't hear any noise at all. At 5pm you are offered complimentary wine/snacks - what a fantastic idea Breakfast included fresh fruit, always a plus for us breakfast area is small but we always found a spare table

Staff were wonderful and check in was a breeze. The only thing I would change are the omelettes. They uh taste like off brand craft Mac and cheese.

The room was small, but extremely clean. The bathroom had been renovated recently with modern fixtures and tile, and also was clean. The front desk stain was extremely helpful and efficient at check in and check out. Whenever I called the property before we checked in, I always reached a person immediately.

It was my first time to NYC. I felt warmly welcomed by the professional staff who struck the right balance of efficiency and friendliness. The room was perfectly designed. Everything was easy. The breakfast was varied and included a very tasty omelette. The evening wine hour was welcome respite and I enjoyed a fine Malbec (it tasted Chilean but I forgot to ask). Proximity to Carnegie Hall was the initial attraction for me, but this charming hotel stands on its own merits. I look forward to staying at Carnegie Hotel again.

Fantastic, well located boutique hotel. Rooms are small but more than adequate, nicely appointed, and have lots of outlets for devices. Chromecast is available to stream your own content if you don’t like their channel lineup. Staff is friendly and helpful. My new favorite go-to hotel in that area.

This place is top notch. Everything is well maintained. The rooms are a little small but that’s par for the course in NYC. The elevators were fast, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. The only trade off was having a very quiet room facing the back with no view or facing the street with more street noise. It’s just personal preference. The location is perfect — close enough to walk to the theater district and Central Park.

Hotel is in a great location concerning uptown activities. Have stayed there multiple times over multiple years. Only problem this visit is that I was told my room would be available at 3 and it was 4:15 before I could access it.

Very nice stay here. It didn't even bother me that there was no coffee maker in the room because they left the coffee/cappuccino/cocoa machine available all day for use. Daily breakfast, evening happy hour with snacks, and such nice staff.

Great midtown location. The property is well maintained and everything is clean and neat. The rooms are very nice ; they are compact but have everything you need.Unlike lots of hotel elevators, these hotels are big and clean and run very efficiently. The little lounge where continental breakfast and happy hour is served is small but there clean and pleasant. The staff are friendly and competent. The price is significantly less than other NYC hotels this nice

The room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating as well. My only complaint would be the fan that ran in the bathroom non-stop. It made the room slightly cold. Overall the accommodations were acceptable.

We had a lovely stay at the Carnegie Hotel. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the city. The rooms are clean and spacious for NYC. However the stand-out is the staff friendliness and the little touches that make such a difference to a stay. Wine and cheese hour in the evenings is so wonderful. We met other guests and enjoyed some treats before gathering our remaining energy to explore evenings in New York. The hot chocolate bar was a wonderful festive touch. Thanks so much to Yolanda, Alessandra, Delia and more for making our stay so fantastic!

The location is great and accessible to everything. I went during Christmas time and for a solo traveller this is great because my room was very small. The happy hour each night is decent but the wine is not have great quality, but nonetheless it was nice. Their eating area is very small and crowded but they are doing the best they can. Beware of the gym access. Online they make it sound like it is complementary but it is not. It is off premises, which is fine but they did not tell me so that was disappointing. In each room there is a cool refrigerator and that was very helpful. At breakfast, they have an egg dish that is hot but the quality is not that good. Their yoghurts are good and they have way too many danishes and carbs. Their coffee is decent but not great. The hotel is close to all of the subways and very safe to walk around.

This is NOT a luxury hotel, nor does it charge luxury hotel rates. But the STAFF is FABULOUS and the facilities perfectly adequate, if not bette rthan that. They say you get what you pay for, but the staff were a pleasant surprise. I came down to the lobby for two complimentary glasses of wine (a nice malbec, by the way) and light snacks, and as I struggled to get them back to the room the attendant brought me a tray, then accompanied me to and called the elevator, then reached in and pressed my floor. Front desk staff were equally welcoming, inquiring (based on a correct surmise) how we'd enjoyed the show as we returned at about the right time for that surmise. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Both rooms were excellent. I changed rooms on the last night due to the Expedia site error regarding the category and availability of the Superior Double room I originally requested. As soon as the room I booked on the Expedia site was actually available they were able to accommodate me. Would have liked to have had that room the entire visit, oh well. The rooms themselves super clean, the mattresses, bedding pristine. The bath and fixtures modern, impeccable. Additionally, the staff excellent, the free breakfast generous and nutritious, sustaining for the better part of the day hiking Manhattan. No shortcomings, nothing to apologize for, the Carnegie Hotel was perfect, I could not have been more pleased.

Our rooms mini fridge and AC wasn’t working, we eventually got moved to another room which was good. The shower floor felt greasy like it hadn’t been cleaned well but it looked fine. They keep the hallways pretty hot upstairs but it’s such a short walk it isn’t too bad. Overall not bad, I would stay again as so many other hotels in NYC have issues with bed bugs. However, it’s definitely pricey, which is not reflected in luxury, but location.

I really don’t recommend staying here. The rooms are much smaller than you’d expect, but the biggest issue is the hidden facility fee—$29 per night. Supposedly, it covers “food,” but in reality, it’s just chips and poor-quality coffee. To make matters worse, the management was unhelpful. A friend I was traveling with couldn’t eat the snacks because of health concerns (high cholesterol), and there were no real alternatives offered. The vibe overall felt cheap and poorly managed. You end up paying extra for almost nothing. Definitely not worth it.

My heat did not work but staff tried everything they could to get it working again. They gave me a space heater for the night and got it fixed in the morning. Carpets in the rooms were pretty old and dirty, otherwise not a bad stay.

Location and service is excellent. The rooms are solid +, my complaint is the elevators make a lot of noise at all hours of the day and night. To me it sounded like someone was banging on the pipes intermittently all day. When I complained I was told they were sold out and that I was “noise sensitive”. Idk, maybe I am, but I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world and never had this issue before.

So friendly and accommodating we loved every minute and we will come back

Showed up to a confirmed reservation to have no room. Absolutely absurd.

We stayed for one night, but thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Our room was on the smallish side, but well appointed the shower was exceptional. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was beyond 5-star. We highly recommend a stay at the Carnegie.

This establishment offers a remarkably updated experience, from the lobby to the guest rooms. The exceptional staff distinguishes this property from larger hotel chains. The complimentary wine hour from 5 PM to 6 PM is a welcome amenity. However, the breakfast area could benefit from expansion.

We had a great 3 night stay at the Carnegie Hotel. The location is perfect for theatre goers and within few blocks to Central Park and Times Square. Hotel staff extremely accommodating and friendly, helpful, nice. Including breakfast and happy hour are wonderful bonuses. The room was great-although small in size had everything you need for a comfortable, pleasant stay. We will stay here again on our next adventure to NYC!

The staff was excellent. Breakfast was good, but remained the same for 4 nights. Complimentary wine happy hour was every night from 5-6. Free cookies in the evening. Snacks, and coffee maker 24 hours. Ice machine, and filtered cold water also, so bring your water bottle. Front door is across the street from the performer entrance of Carnegie Hall. You might miss the entrance if you blink though.

This hotel for me was perfect - one of the most important things for me at a hotel is that the climate control is good. I like a very cool room at night and i was able to control the air and it was great and it worked. I liked that there was a breakfast to get me out the door each morning and not look around or need to go find a breakfast when I was walking 8-10 miles to begin with. and the happy hour was convenient to grab a snack after a long day and before a long night out.

Definitely my new favorite place to stay mid-town. Rooms were so clean and the staff super friendly and they have free coffee and drinks all the time.

The rooms are Manhattan standard size (smaller than most US cities), but well laid out and comfortable. Location is just a short walk to Midtown sites.

This is a very simple hotel, however, the rooms are quite new and very clean and the staff is super responsive. Nothing flashy, but it totally does the trick.

We had a lovely stay! Every staff member was so friendly. Hotel was very clean! We loved our room - the shower was incredible and our bed was super comfortable. It was an easy walk over to the Metropolitan Opera and we really enjoyed the Carnegie diner for dinner. My husband thought the breakfast was really good for an included continental, he loved the omelettes. It was also nice always having coffee, tea, juice and snacks in the lobby. We would definitely stay here again for a Broadway show or another opera. I’d highly recommend here!

Small but mighty! For NYC, very nice hotel. Upgraded rooms have a great view but street noise. Standard rooms are much smaller but no street noise. All is small but very comfortable with extremely helpful employees, especially in helping us with my elderly in-laws and their wheelchair needs.

Of course we are slightly above the Times Square center . Which is hell. We are from the city and stay here for theater , dining, a sort of short vacation .

We absolutely loved the proximity of the hotel to Carnegie Hall. We flew in to see a show on Saturday evening, and it was delightful to just be able to walk back to our hotel once the show ended. We had an overall lovely time.

Truly, one of the best hotels we have stayed at for a long time. From the friendly staff, included breakfast, manager’s cocktail party, 24 hour snacks, blackout curtains, best pillows in the world, and quiet rooms plus location we really could not have asked for anything more.

The aspect ratio in the photos is distorted - the rooms were smaller than any other same-priced hotels in NYC I've stayed in.

Older property, so rooms are tiny, even for NYC standards and you could feel a cold draft coming from multiple spots in the room, including the electrical outlets. That being said though, it was in a great location-2 minute walk to the subway, incredibly quiet, great staff, and clean. Will definitely stay here again-just make sure I pack warmer PJs!

Perfect location in NYC. We walked to our dinners and to our shows. Very pleasant staff, clean rooms, light breakfast and snacks available 24 hours. Would definitely return.

Our stay at The Carnegie Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The location couldn’t be better—it’s within walking distance of all the major attractions, making it the perfect home base for exploring NYC. The only down side for me was the room size, but the cleanliness made up for it!! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, offering exceptional service with a personal touch. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after long days in the city. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with outstanding service and an unbeatable location, The Carnegie is the place!!! We can’t wait to stay again!

Everything about this hotel is excellent for a business trip. Nice front staff, good location, nice room, everything's working, and I loooooove the free breakfast and snacks. It's not fancy, but the fact that they don't try make $30 extra on me from breakfast and/or a mini bar is really nice. Only slight downside was outside noise even though they have soundproof windows (I think). It's hard to avoid in NYC if your rooms is facing the street. But I'd come back any time.

Five-day, four-night NY trip to visit museums. The room, though unexpectedly very small, was clean and up-to-date. Excellent bathroom and shower, Elderly guests would benefit from a higher sitting toilet. Queen bed was comfortable with good pillows, mini-fridge did not work. Maid service was good and unobtrusive. The free breakfast was very good; no need to buy breakfast out. Late afternoon free wine and snack offerings very good, also.The room was very quiet from outside noise, but was offset by elevator noise.This is my only big complaint. Got use to it after one day and used earplugs while sleeping, but usually quiet between 9:30pm to 7:00 am. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Subway and bus access literally around the corner.

This quite new hotel has extremely thoughtful design, the best hotel pillows I have ever encountered, great staff and generous breakfasts and a daily afternoon wine reception included in the price - outstanding.
