Reviews
The hotel is praised for its prime location near Times Square, cleanliness, and well-equipped kitchenettes. The staff is generally commended for their helpfulness, though some guests experienced issues with communication and service. Some guests reported problems with the AC, shower, and Wi-Fi, and a few found the room size and comfort lacking.
- Prime location near Times Square
- Cleanliness of rooms and facilities
- Inconsistent service and communication from staff
- Issues with AC, shower, and Wi-Fi in some rooms

Helpful staff, large and comfortable rooms, amazing location

Medium size refrigerator nice. Microwave, and all you need to cook a basic food.

Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Very nice pillows. Normal sized not tiny square pillows experienced at other hotels. Microwave and full size refrigerator was nice to have. Coffeemaker and coffee was good. Cold water dispenser and ice tea or lemonade in the lobby was nice but not refilled frequently enough. 3pm Chocolate chip cookies were nice. Free coffee in the pantry was nice, but we were not informed about it. Maid service very good. Room felt clean. Good convenient location. Desk staff tried to be helpful. Good for the price. Only 2 elevators. Could be fast if a lot of people were not using them otherwise could be slow. Check in experience was lacking. Took way too long to check in. Guest luggage storage is in front of one of the check in stations. Rooms could use more lighting.
- 5/5
Pretty great option for nyc! Rooms are spacious and have everything you would need if you wanted to cook a meal. They have complimentary iced water and cookies in the lobby which is great on hot days! Location is perfect if you want to be close to times square and the subway. Would visit again!
- 5/5
I stay here because of the kitchenette. Lash location is decent, walkable to most chosen Tom Square in five or 10 minutes. The neighborhood itself is kind of seedy. Great proximity to the subway a block and a half away. Some downside: there’s often a line for coffee in the morning, the breakfast is not existent, grim, or pay for some fast food options from an honor bar.
- 4/5
Ok
- 3/5
Location is good. What I didn’t like is that there was not hot water in the morning to take a shower.
- 5/5
Clean room! Staff was nice!

- 4/5
I stayed there before and this place could use a new renovation
- 5/5
Loved the mini kitchen. Great location for all my Broadway show.
- 4/5
Hotel is definitely showing its age a bit (dated decor and such) but definitely gets the job done for a solid place to stay in the city. -quiet, clean, etc 👍
- 5/5
Amables atentos serviciales volveria de nuevo
- 5/5
The room was great the kitchen was clean the bathroom was clean the staff was friendly and helpful …. I would stay here again and it near everything
- 5/5
Great helpful staff, great rooms and location. We've had a wonderful NYC stay!
- 4/5
Not the most modern but good value
- 4/5
Very good
- 2/5
This hotel is in a convenient location walking distance from Penn Station, and many neighborhoods in NYC. Check in and check out were very efficient. But the sound of the elevators going up and down was really super loud (definitely need earplugs), and the bathroom was really oddly designed so the door was always in the way. I love NYC so this didn't stop me from having a fabulous time but I wouldn't stay in this hotel again. Elevator noise. Bot or human texting me to ask if everything was okay but when I responded with a need, they never wrote back. It took 2 emails and 5 calls to get an invoice--that final person was incredibly nice so kudos to him.
- 2/5
Great Location, Good customer service from hotel staff Property not up to date, carpet in hallways and lobby dirty, ordor in the room, hallway walls dirty
- 4.5/5
Great choice — I’d recommend...
- 4.5/5
Good quality suite hotel in Hell's Kitchen close to Port Authority and subways. Nice kitchen and fridge and microwave so you can save some money bringing in your own food. Easy walk to transportation and to Times Square and Penn Station. It's not elegant or flashy, but clean, decent sized rooms and basic amenities. The fitness center is not much but par for the course for this level hotel in NYC. It would be nice if they did breakfast.
- 4/5
The room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned upon our arrival. Trash on the floor near the bed and a cup of coffee was left in the microwave. Our room keys frequently didn’t work, so that was annoying. Other than that Roberto was very kind and attentive. Location was great.
- 5/5
Minor quibbles : microwave didn’t work and TV reception was pretty weak / grainy BUT the bed was super comfy and the shower was strong and very hot (Deal Breaker, for me). I was on the back side, which was completely quiet and private : relaxing ! And the location is perfection for access to Broadway / Times Square. I’d definitely return !
- 2.5/5
There was no breakfast. But there was a good coffee machine in the lobby. The elevator was horrible I waited 17 minutes for it to arrive. The button kept going on and off. There was definitely problem.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Clean, well serviced. Short walk to the water along trail.
- 3/5
It’s was ok the rooms are definitely outdated
- 5/5
The staff were so nice and welcoming with each interaction. We will definitely be back.
- 3.5/5
Loved that they had a laundry on site free for guests. Close to Times Square, Broadway, Penn Station and the Port Authority Bus Station.

First, this is a great location, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and served it's purpose. My only issue was they didn't have the suite we reserved available on our first night at check-in. The staff was very apologetic and offered to give us a different room for the first night and then move to our reserved room the second day for the remainder of our stay. The issue with this was that while I was traveling with a good friend, we were not the share-a-bed kind of friends, and the room they offered us for the first night had only one queen bed with no options for a rollaway. Our suite we had reserved had a separate bedroom and a pullout in the living room, which was perfect for us. We ended up staying in the alternative room the first night, and there was a recliner which I managed to utilize for sleeping. Once we got our reserved room it was a great stay! My only issue is that they offered me a $200 credit for that first night, but I never saw that credit materialize when I balanced the amount afterward. I just don't have the energy to try and bicker for that credit at this point, but clearly while the staff was super helpful and apologetic, something got missed between the promise and the actual execution. I would stay there again, but I would call ahead to confirm multiple times to make sure the room I have is what I'm getting when I arrive.
- 5/5
Estuvimos 12 días. El personal muy atento. La ubicación excelente. Muy cerca del centro. A unas cuadras de Times Square. Súper recomendable. Volvería para largas estadías. Desde Argentina.
- 3/5
The Manager intervened, and we got another room - the iron in the new room however, had some kind of adhesive on it, which while ironing my shirt, transferred onto my shirt and ruined it - swapped the iron out, for all the good it did for my shirt Aside from these two things, the hotel is pleasant and quiet - it's just far enough from Times Square that you miss the noise, but close enough that you can walk - the gym is much smaller and more modestly equipped than seemingly advertised The complimentary drinks are a nice touch I would stay here again
- 2/5
The hotel needs to be updated. You should not be charged for useless amenities that most guest are not going to use for $68 in addition to a daily “destination” fee! I thought a destination fee is what is referred to as a daily room rate! This hotel is a No for me!
- 1/5
It took me 45 minutes to check in because they had no one in the front desk to be able to check us in, a cleaning lady had to help to get someone next door that knew how to work the system to check us in, then it took half an hour to get some towels. Honestly it wasnt a great experience at all.
- 5/5
The location was in the heart of city. Everything was very accessible- subway, eateries, stores etc I wish if some cutlery were extra would have been nicer, thought they were for 2 pax stay.
- 5/5
Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and size of the room. It wasn’t as nyc tiny as I expected, and though it’s older, it was well maintained. Simple but a great place to sleep as we explored the city by day. Location was also great—very close to the action in Times Square but enough off the beaten path to be a little quieter. We will stay here again.
- 1/5
My second issue was I asked for more towels in my room and never received them. Third was the constant noise coming from the fridge and bathroom which made it hard to fall asleep Fourth was the tv channels were so buns and overall it made it dreadful to stay there. I’m so sorry but the experience was not there.
- 5/5
The location was at the heart of city. It was easy to commute. There were lot of eateries around as well. We found that dome of the cutlery should have been extra. While it was for 2 people, but everytime we have to wash cup or plates to reuse it. If there were couple of extra cutlery then it would have been nicer.
- 4/5
This place is very centr
- 5/5
Ubicación. Amplitud de las habitaciones
- 5/5
The rooms were large for NYC. Cleaned each day. The small kitchen was a bonus. The price and value to be so close to Times Square was great. It is an older building so don't expect 5 star luxury. But it was clean and the staff were friendly.
- 5/5
The people at the front desk were friendly through our stay. Room has kitchen amenities and the room is spacious for NYC. I always stay at Candlewood when I visit the City.
- 5/5
Everything was so clean and very comfortable and the staff’s are amazing
- 4/5
Mini cocina disponible, cama firme y almohadas suaves. El pasillo de los cuartos con un poco de olor a humedad posiblemente por la alfombra.
- 5/5
Spent 4 nights staying here. Having a small kitchen area was the reason we chose this hotel. We didn’t require use of the laundry facilities but did see other guests making use of it. Hotel is in a fabulous location with easy access Times Square, underground subway and shops. The young lady who was responsible for providing cleaning and supplies of clean towels etc for our room was friendly and checked daily if we needed fresh towels. We had a side view of the Empire State Building from our room on the 24th floor. Would certainly use this hotel if we return to New York.
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice. Close to Time Square. Great for the price. Staff was nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Very nice, friendly staff everything very nice and clean great location
- 5/5
Yes
- 1/5
Horrible
- 5/5
The room was great, and larger than most in NYC. The kitchen was handy and was fully equipped with all that you would need. Great location too!
- 5/5
It’s a small room with everything you need inside it. The AC and the bed are the best. The shower curtain was not good because it let the water out. Except that we had a good time.
- 2/5
The elevator’s extremely slow, elevator light and number indicators partially working, and there was no visible license permit in either elevator. The room toilet was not clean as scum was visibly seen and there was a dirty towel on the counter upon entry into the room. Carpet and curtains were outdated.
- 5/5
The only negative was at the very end when we went to pick up our luggage we left behind before going to the airport. Only one person was working the front desk and there was a party of four to check in while the lineup was growing. Had to wait what felt like 10 minutes before I got to the front. Not the staffer’s fault. There was only one person. Surely there could be a second person in the back who can help out if that situation arises. Aside from that, I would highly recommend.
- 3/5
The shower would get really hot, so you turn it down and down and down. Then all of a sudden the water pressure would drop and it would get cold. Then you’d try turning it up. It was almost a fun little game. We had maid service every day because we had a longer stay which was nice to have fresh towels each day. The kitchen was stocked with a decent amount of stuff for you to cook if you decided. The bed was not the most comfortable bed, woke up sore. Despite the street being extremely busy the only thing we could hear was cop cars or ambulances.
- 3/5
Well located and quiet.
- 4/5
We flew in super early, but unfortunately not a single room was available. However , that does seem a little weird , but it is what it is.
- 5/5
Great location and service, price/quality relation very good for New York, especially if you need a place with a kitchenette for your stay. Minor grip: a can opener would have been useful.
- 4/5
Clean Room and laundry was good.
- 4/5
It didn’t have an oven for baking anything. It had everything else we needed like silverware, plates, storage containers, dish soap, sponge, etc. Most of the staff were nice, but the one man was definitely sick and the one lady wasn't the kindest/most personable person - seemed like she was annoyed either at us for some reason or just in general and I'm not sure why. She did at least offer to store our luggage for us without us asking. The gym is exceptionally small with no cleaning wipes stocked, but it served its purpose. The one elevator slowed down a lot as we approached our floor. We thought we were going to be stuck in it. The underpad and bottom of the lounge chair in the room was all stained up really bad. The kitchen chair also had food splattered on the back of it. There was a bottle cap and trash under the bed. The bed itself was okay in comfort. The room didn't smell of any harsh chemicals, but the hall did a bit. The bathroom curtain could have been cleaner - there was a little bit of mold here and there - I have mold toxicity illness, so I'm not sure if that is why I was so out of it during this trip or not. I liked the Dove hand wash, and hair care items. They did offer free water - I'm not sure if it was filtered or not, but it tasted fine. Free coffee, as well, that was watery the one night.
- 5/5
Room was clean and welcoming.
- 3/5
Minor maintenance needed throughout
- 5/5
Clean rooms & friendly staff!
- 5/5
No complaints close to everything seemed safe outside the property love the kitchenette room comfy and shower was great, would stay again.
- 3/5
My only challenge: one elevator, long waits to get to the rolm, had to taje the stairs from the 11th floor; when I asked for a lower floor I was told no by the attendant at the desk... I would not stay here again
- 5/5
Beautiful room with everything you could ever need including a fully stocked kitchenette and safe. The only caveat is a small/slow elevator but it does work - be patient. Clean property and friendly staff. Looking forward to our next stay.
- 4/5
Rough around the edges but overall a respectable stay. The keys/key cards work terribly here and one of the managers was irritable and rude with me for asking them to be reactivated every time they deactivated. As if this was my problem and not the hotel’s fault?! But otherwise I enjoyed the stay
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Great stay for a busy city, would recommend.
- 5/5
Hotel was the perfect location to shows and Times Square. They held our luggage after we checked out so we could explore. The room was clean and we had a great view. I would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff received & stored boxes for me before we arrived - very helpful & very pleasant to deal with. No long wait for elevators. Free coffee in lobby & snacks available. Kitchenette in room is great!
- 5/5
Good position for access everywhere. Good value for the money. Would def use it again. Thank you all.
- 5/5
Location was great. Staff super friendly.
- 5/5
Was perfect for my week long stay. Saved me money by not having to eat out every meal.
- 5/5
Great 3 night stay here - odd that I only had bed service once, and they didn't empty the garbage for my entire stay, but otherwise it was a nice clean room in a great location.
- 5/5
Great location, no fuss.
- 5/5
Paul at the front desk was great. Very friendly and efficient. Great location.
- 4/5
We asked for a late checkout at 2pm and this was agreed without issue and without any extra charge. Only issue we had was that the carpet was slightly damp on arrival. By time of departure 4 days later, the carpet was absolutely soaked through and smelly. My husband thinks there was a leak under the floorboards from the bathroom. In fairness to the hotel, I didn’t report this issue so they didn’t have a chance to respond or rectify it.
- 5/5
Good stuff, wonderful location, complete kitchen.
- 5/5
Easy walk to subway near Times Square, and great general location. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great location! Staff friendly & helpful.
- 5/5
Their kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. I liked having a refrigerator. The staff is very friendly.
- 4/5
Clean, spacious room. Nice kitchen tho the microwave didn’t work. Great location, great value
- 5/5
Only one working elevator made things hard but otherwise it was great!
- 5/5
Kitchen is good equipped with plates, tureens, a pan and a couple of pots. Spoons, forks, knife and bottle opener are here as well.
- 3/5
Good location but due for a refurb. Rooms very old
- 4/5
Cameras should be installed on all floors. The BEDS seem to be TOO SOFT. Stoppers needed for some Bathtubs .
- 4/5
Very good location to everywhere, food, live shows, shopping, close to Times Square, Subway. Very happy with our stay here.
- 5/5
Located in the heart of Manhattan staff very friendly
- 5/5
Clean room and great customer service.
- 4/5
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. It's a good hotel to stay in if you're up an about in new york city.
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again. The room (1 queen bed) was way bigger than expected. Nice big bathroom. Everything was very clean. The location was perfect for what I wanted to do while in town. Price was great.
- 4/5
The studio suite was clean and met our need.
- 5/5
We did not use the laundry -- tired to use the small gym, but the door did not work with the electronic room key. Kitchen was great for two people.
- 4/5
Clean and close to everything we had planned in NYC. We lived our time there and appreciated the convenience of the kitchenette.
- 5/5
Convenient to Times Square, quiet and comfortable.
- 5/5
Very good location in Times Square. Great hotel with great rooms.

- 5/5
Always a nice place to stay when in NYC. Conveniently located. Lots of food options around. Walkable to theaters. Only thing missing is an ATM.
- 5/5
Loved having a kitchenette in the room, so convenient for breakfast and nighttime snacks. Every staff member here is so friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
old, staff not customer service oriented
- 4/5
Excellent location
- 5/5
Clean and quiet
- 3/5
Full kitchen with all amenities.
- 5/5
Kitchen was fine. I didn't use the laundry.
- 5/5
The location is great, the staff very helpful. The room was clean and very spacious, a rare finding in NY. Coffee, tea and water in the lobby all day. We enjoyed a lot our stay, super recommended
- 5/5
Great location , friendly staff and very helpful. Clean rooms and modern facilities. I just left and already booked my return scheduled for July. Thanks Candlewood. ❤️
- 5/5
Room was easy to get to and clean. Kitchen floor area was warped and bathroom door hard to close. Those are very minor issues. Room had kitchenette, everything you’d need to cook a quick meal (which we did not do). Microwave, fridge/freezer, stove top, dishwasher, dishes/silverware provided. Great location. Worked fantastic for us.
- 4/5
Enjoyed our stay. Great location close to all New York must see places. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again
- 3/5
Elevators were out and extremely slow when one was operating and wait time was 15-30 minutes and would skip some floors was told a refund for the inconvenience would be granted but was never honored even after escalating with Expedia and the property never responding
- 5/5
Kitchen was equipped with both hand wash and dishwasher. Rooms were clean and well maintained.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Microwave is not working which was a bummer.
- 5/5
I would stay here again
- 5/5
Great experience at candle wood
- 5/5
Would stay here again and recommend to others
- 5/5
Staff nice person

- 3/5
The A/C make terrible noise all night
- 5/5
Very good place to stay, quiet room, A/C perfect, awesome location and affordable price
- 5/5
Fairly well located, short walk to moynihan, hell's kitchen and times square so really pretty prime. The customer service was also excellent
- 5/5
Good for the price. Excellent location
- 5/5
Great stay as always, super staff and perfect location!
- 2/5
There are five better hotels on the same block for less money. We left mid-stay and found a much better hotel half a block down. Element has kitchenettes and king-size beds for a lower price. Stay there instead, avoid this Candlewood. The brand is usually good, but this one was hurting for help.
- 5/5
Clean room, much bigger than others in the city that we have stayed at. Very helpful people at the front desk! Will definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Excellent location! Hotel is closer to Manhattan and there are plenty of shop and restaurants nearby too. Walking distance to pretty much anywhere and Broadway. I had a great experience!
- 1/5
This hotel is dated. It gave me the ick. I didn’t want to put my head on the pillows. I slept on top of the bottom sheet with no covers. I didn’t want to walk around barefoot or touch anything. The room made my nose burn and I couldn’t breathe. I think it was mold. The lobby had buckets on the floor catching water. The lifts looked like they were going to fall apart at any moment. You couldn’t even tell which floor you were on cause the floors didn’t light up. I didn’t know if I’d come out of a lift alive. The noise from outside was horrendous. Obviously no window sound proofing. I will never stay here again. An absolute dump.
- 4/5
Close to Time Square
- 4/5
Half the staff was friendly, half was not. Property is a bit run down but seems fairly clean. People had trouble with the elevators but we left at non busy times and did not. Area is central NYC near transport and food. Its not a luxury hotel but its in Manhattan and cheap compared to most. Especially bc it has a kitchen its definitely good value for the money. I recommend it for value not vibes.
- 3/5
A convenient and nice neighborhood, but the hotel condition is not good. The sink drained slowly, the water in the shower was burning hot, not hot, literally burning hot and cannot be adjusted.
- 3/5
Very outdated and not clean
- 5/5
Multiple eating choices
- 2/5
One of the front desk people was awesome, but another one was so-so. The biggest issue was that the water in the shower (in my room and my colleague's room) was boiling hot even in the coldest setting. My first morning I took a shower in a drip of water so I wouldn't get scalded. I called the front desk and they said they'd fix it. When I checked it in the evening, same problem. I called again and they sent someone up, and I learned that to fix it you need to run cold water in the sink for about 10 minutes while the water is running in the shower. It was like that ever day. Also, one morning, the elevators weren't working, so I had to walk 10 flights down after waiting around 5 minutes for the elevator. The mattress had a big dip in it too, so that sucked. I have stayed here many times, and it was fine before.
- 3/5
Not bad acces to Times Square but old building and smelled like smoke in the room.
- 5/5
It was really good
- 4/5
Yes and easy to get around
- 5/5
Free Coffee, good location, clean room.
- 5/5
i had a really great stay here. the room was clean, comfortable, and had a full kitchen, which was incredibly convenient and made the stay feel a lot more like home. it was nice being close to a lot of stores and cafes. the staff were also very kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. overall it was a very pleasant stay and i’d definitely recommend it.
- 2/5
Property had over 20 floors. Elevator broke and we were on the 15th. Had to walk down 15 flights of stairs. My wife and I legs were hurting for couple of days. When the elevator was barely functional, it took a very long time.
- 4/5
Room clean, staff nice. Great location close to central and all public transport. One caveat is elevator broke down many times.
- 4/5
Not enough elivators and one was out of service. Forgot to restock towels but comfortable room.
- 5/5
Good hotel
- 4/5
The stay was good, but the wait for
- 5/5
Yes. Did not drive. Took train and walked.
- 5/5
I love that is walking distance most restaurants, diner, and transportation.
- 5/5
Bien
- 2/5
Room was ok. Only one elevator in service the entire stay caused lengthy delays to come and go. Will not return because of that.
- 4/5
Clean room and super close to timesquare
- 4/5
My stay was good. It was in close proximity to the train station and close to the city center. Good area and affordable
- 3/5
The only complaint i have is only one elevator worked and me and my girlfriend waited 20 minutes at one point to catch the elevator or i probably would have gsve this a 5 star.
- 5/5
My studio suite was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, the heat/AC worked perfectly, and the kitchenette was a great bonus and fully functional. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I didn’t notice any mold, damage, or wear issues, and the carpet and walls were in good condition. One of the biggest highlights was the location. The hotel is very central, and everything I needed was within a 20-minute walk or less, which was perfect since I enjoy walking. It made getting around Times Square and nearby theaters incredibly convenient. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay here again. It was a comfortable, hassle-free experience and a great home base for a NYC trip.
- 4/5
Very clean room and courteous staff. Only thing is that the shower curtain would not close fully and water would spray out.
- 2/5
Had to walk up & down the stairs everyday of my stay. They never brought me a “do not disturb sign.” For my room door. Heater worked when it wanted to.
- 4/5
Yes
- 2/5
The room did seem neglected. The bathtub was clogged so when we showered it would fill up a lot. The closet door was broken so it wouldn’t stay shut. The worst was probably that the hotel lock was broken so we didn’t have that extra safety feature. Only one elevator worked, and that one broke one day so we had to walk down 28 flights of stairs. The location was great. And the room size was adequate.
- 1/5
The elevator didnt work during checking in
- 2/5
My sheets had stains, I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. The biggest complaint was the elevators. Only one worked so it was always full and you had to wait awhile. At one point it didn't work I had to use the stairs to go up over 10 flights of stairs. For what I was charged for the room its disappointing!!
- 5/5
Great night
- 2/5
Room staff was excellent, room itself shower wasnt functioning correctly, curtain arm was broken and hanging berly all the water spilled out, the elevator was ridiculous. One wasnt working already, the other we waited 30 minutes at some point to get on, and then it was packed with people the elevator started just dropping roughly to where everyone was panicking. I have never submitted a review but today was the day. If you are considering staying here, look elsewhere i assure you another hotel will accommodate better
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, lots of nice little extras.
- 5/5
Clean and kind staff
- 5/5
Great staff and great location
- 5/5
The staff went ABOVE and beyond to accommodate the birthday we had. When we arrived, we got to the hotel around 11am to bag drop, intending to return at 3pm for check in, I requested a birthday decoration for my cousin and we were then told our room was ready for early check in! We got a top floor with gorgeous views of NYC and a super sweet room decoration. The room was a great size and had everything we needed for our stay. Staff was super courteous and the beverages/sweets in the lobby was a nice touch. They made this experience so great, and I would definitely return in the future. Thank you so much!
- 4/5
Location is great and the staff members were very nice. But one of the two elevators malfunctioned, putting everyone (guests and staff) in elevator hell for two days. I could accept that if there were four elevators but this was ridiculous. Why was there no emergency repair service being done???

The room needs an update. The layout of the bathroom is really weird and the water is either insanely hot or freezing cold with a handful of places where there’s a little bit of rust on the walls that would be made better with a a coat of paint or calking. The AC unit doesn’t have a functional thermostat on it so it’s either on or off.

Great service
- 5/5
Customer service was GREAT!
- 5/5
Great staff! Extremely clean room! Centrally located to everything! What more could you ask for?
- 3/5
I booked a room with a kitchenette well the stove top burners did not work, microwave did not work, shower when you turned on the hot water a loud noise sounded until you completed your shower, tv had only 5 channels, besides that, staff were superb and very helpful
- 5/5
Great place to stay in NYC! I loved having a kitchenette, a nice little gym, and access to free laundry during my stay. Wonderful place to stay for a work trip; I only wish I could afford to stay here outside of winter months!
- 5/5
great location and staff
- 4/5
The staff our very polite and helpful. But they put me in an old room on the fifth flr. The tv channels are limited and with bad reception.’otherwise it’s clean and decent.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly. The location was good.
- 5/5
The place was ok accept at the time they only had one elevator running and took me 25 mins to reach the lobby when i left so as long as your not in a rush its cool
- 5/5
Clean, great time square hotel
- 4/5
The room was clean though it did show its age. He louvers on the AC unit were busted and the vanity in the bathroom was scuffed up. When I arrived only one elevator was working it took a long time to get an elevator when you wanted one, even when the second elevator was working.
- 5/5
We especially want to recognize Cheyanne at the front desk, she was incredibly nice, welcoming, and genuinely awesome. Her friendliness and helpful attitude really stood out and made our stay even better. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York City.
- 1/5
Buyer beware!!! Horrible experience for our anniversary in New York. After checking in we were told they only have 1 elevator working for 38 floors, we waited up to 35 minutes and missed our Uber ride. I did not want my wife walking down 17 flights of stairs in heels to go see our show. We also experienced loud metal pipes that woke us up several times over the weekend. We also had people partying and smoking weed next to us and had to call the front desk multiple times and have security come up and shut it down at midnight. After letting them know all this all they could say was sorry for the inconvenience… They never offered any kind of credit for the issues. Make sure you pick another place…
- 4/5
Elevator problems and bad tv reception. Other than that it was a perfect stay.
- 5/5
A very pleasant surprise and well worth the price. Will definitely be staying here again. Thank you!!!
- 4/5
the room was clean and the staff was courteous
- 5/5
Clean and easy

Excellent
- 5/5
One of my favorites places to stay
- 4/5
Excellent staff, friendly and attentive. When one of the elevators was not working they did everything to let us know and had someone ride the elevator that was working to pick up people when they texted.
- 5/5
Everything was nice I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Clean & comfortable. Very helpful staff, great communication.
- 5/5
Bathroom toilet was a little dirty thats all
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great. We’ll be back. I highly recommend it.
- 3/5
one of the elevators was out and the microwave did not work and TV was not fully working. Overall o kay for the price and location is good. Staff very helpful
- 1/5
The elevators kept on breaking down which very inconvenient since this hotel has 33 floors. Also I was electrocuted by an outlet that was hanging out of its outlet box. I had to take an ambulance to the ER. At first they tried to blame me but when they heard my side of the story i think they finally realized they were at fault.
- 5/5
Yes had.plenty
- 3/5
Staff was helpful. Snack room available for coffee and bags of ice, snacks for purchase. Room was clean, kitchen stocked with necessities to prepare meals. But…. One elevator was broken the entire time I was there. Waiting for the one elevator that did work was a nuisance and wasted a lot of time. Repairs were done shoddily. Door looked like it had been broken into and repairs were messy.
- 3/5
Access to our vehicle was troublesome.

Yes
- 4/5
The only problem was the elevator being broken the entire stay. With only 1 working elevator, a lot of time was wasted waiting for an elevator. Very frustrating at times
- 5/5
Staff was great, made for an easy check in
- 1/5
They made us pay a deposit at check-in to ensure that nothing was damaged, but when we entered the room, the oven was broken and the bathroom door lock was not working. Additionally, one day the elevator stopped working. Only one elevator was operating, but the housekeeping staff used it to transport linens to other floors. They placed the carts in a way that prevented residents from entering the elevator. I stayed for five days, and when I left, the elevator was still not functioning properly. I was staying on the 28th floor, and after waiting for 20 minutes, the elevator never arrived. As a result, my mother, who has knee problems, had to walk down all those floors. We explained the situation to the front desk, but the only response we received was that the elevator was not working, with no further assistance or solution. The hotel is in a great location, but the service was very disappointing.
- 2/5
Staff is a 10 out 10. The hotel is not maintained. Arrived Dec 23rd, by Dec 25th, one of the two elevators had stopped working. Hotel only has 2 elevators. It was taking upwards of 20 minites to get from my room on the 29th floor to the lobby. Guests were sharing elevator space with housekeeping as they moved through the rooms so elevator would arrive already full. By Dec 27th or so, the second elevator stopped working. I waited an hour in the lobby and finally asked for an empty room on a lower level so I could at least go to sleep. At 130am i got a call the elevator was fixed and moved everything from the 29th floor to my new room so I did not have to compete w guests trying to check out and housekeeping the next day. The dishwasher had standing water in it, shower rod was sloped so it doesnt hold the curtain in place, it slides open. Maintenance came quickly and fixed what was important to us..front desk, mainenance amd housekeeping handled everything w professionalism, but their parent company needs to invest money into this building. 2 elevators down is a preventative maintenance issue. I left Jan 1, the elevator that stopped working on Dec 25th still isnt working....staff says this is pretty common. The plusses, convenient to everything, kitchette was very useful, bed was comfortable, always had hot water.
- 3/5
Room was clean, it’s an ok place to stay for short term, couple of days. Needs upgrades! Old cabinets, old appliances (hotels use pod coffee makers now). Cabinets are old and worn. Heater made strange sounds when it started and stopped yet it still kept the room warm at night. The kitchenette feature was a plus although I didn’t use the dishwasher or cooktop. It was convenient to have a full size refrigerator and dishes to use. I’d stay again because of the location and price.
- 5/5
We didnt use the kitchen but it was well stocked. Very clean room, super comfortable bed. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SHEETS im not kidding IHG is not messing around i begged the front desk for a set. Super responsive staff if we needed anything. Daily housekeeping. Dove shower products. Worth it!!
- 5/5
The rooms had everything we needed and the staff was great!
- 4/5

- 5/5
Clean! Quiet! Nice helpful front desk staff! Good location!
- 5/5
Rooms had everything we needed and staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Nice kitchenette clean rooms hallways vestibules.
- 5/5
Excellent stay all-around! 28th floor room was super quiet, as big as a typical non-NYC room, clean and having the kitchen was fantastic. Staff was friendly and luggage hold was convenient and easy!
- 1/5
I have video of the toilet constantly running and the porcelain being 120 degrees and the water at 150. It made the entire bathroom a sauna and we had to use the gym restroom. During the time I reported to the front desk and watched as she couldn't contact a higher-up/manager. The next day coming back to the room the maintenance person was there and didn't fully understand what was happening. He too tried contacting his management (can't remember the title he used) it was the same result wherein he couldn't reach management at all. I was burned trying to use the toilet and my husband had to turn off the toilet and use cold sink water for flushes so we didn't have to go to the gym area for the toilet
- 5/5
We had all we needed for our stay. Not a high end hotel of course but that’s not what we needed to have a great time. Hotel staff was polite, room was restocked with fresh towels and clean trash bags everyday, and they provided free coffee and water. No complaints at all.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful! The amenities were generous with their coffee & cocoa and muffins, and ice water was available. We would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and attentive staff!! It’s an older hotel but has everything one needs.
- 5/5
Comfortable, spacious room in a great location, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfy bed, no issues at all
- 3/5
Coffee was not restocked.

Everything the hotel offered, everything was exceptional.
- 5/5
Nice and clean
- 5/5
Hotel was nice. Rooms were clean. Close to everything. We enjoyed our stay! We would stay there again!
- 5/5
Although hotel was a little on older side it was kept clean & staff helpful when in need.
- 4/5
It was an okay hotel. We were on 6th floor, next to the elevator. Constant noise through out the night.
- 5/5
Ok it’s everything
- 2/5
The room was very dated and not clean. There were crumbs on the chair, stains on all the upholstery and the bathroom smelled like mold. The heater was very loud when it turned on.
- 5/5
Do not listen to any of the negative reviews! I stayed for 2 nights for a girls weekend and we couldn’t feel more safe. The staff are so friendly and inviting, the location is so convenient, the amenities and appliances are modern, and best part: affordable. This will be the only hotel i book for my future visits to Times Square! Thank you Candlewood Suites !
- 5/5
Yes and workplace was fine.
- 4/5
The kitchen was fully required for our needs, the staff was very friendly. There was one issue. The HVAC was not working and the staff kept saying it was going to be replaced and it never was in the four days we were there.
- 2/5
Also, the shower rod was partially broken, allowing more water to leak into the bathroom. Lastly, when I went to call the desk to let them know about the leak, the room phone was broken and I had to call from my cell phone.
- 2/5
The first morning we had scalding hot water in the shower. The next few days the water temperature fluctuated. The carpet in our room was wet in spots, we had to wear shoes at all times, we told the staff but not g was fine and they couldn’t switch our room. Our friends room had the same water issue and their shower head was broken and kept falling off.
- 4/5
It was satisfactory for this stay and we felt safe. I took video of the inside of the room to prove there was not one of those so-called smoke in the air detecting devices that people had claimed they were charged for. We had an easy check-in, the location is very close to many attractions. Free lemonade, water, and coffee. I would stay again.
- 5/5
great location, room was clean, staff was pleasant. Coffee, water, lemonade, hot cocoa and muffins free and available 24hr.
- 5/5
Only minor issue was clogged bath tub.
- 4/5
Convenient location to walk to most things. Bed was clean and comfortable. Cleaning the rest of room could have been better. They did clean each day with was nice. Check I was fast and easy.
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 4/5
Good size rooms, good licatio and good price
- 5/5
Had a great stay! Roberto, the gentleman at the front desk was very polite and helpful, made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Room and views were incredible, very clean!
- 4/5
Kitchenette was stocked but we didn’t use. Bed was very comfortable. They had a water issue while we were there with no water for a couple hours for two days. A bit off putting. The hotel is a bit away from the main attractions so everything is about a 20 minute walk. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The room was great. Staff was attentive and got us into our room early.
- 3/5
Water was our 2 days in a row!
- 5/5
It's walkable to a lot of tourist attractions. Good restaurants and bars around. It's clean and comfortable. I think it's the best for this price range.
- 4/5
Comfortable. Good size for NY . Great location
- 4/5
A smart tv inside the rooms would be a plus
- 5/5
Clean room safe environment. Close to everything we were doing.
- 5/5
A/C and heating both worked quickly!
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Laura at front desk was wonderful and helpful with places to explore. Clean was clean and smelled great upon walking in.
- 5/5
Great great hotel and very nice service
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Good staff | clean room | close to many of New Yorks attractions | 24 hour 7 eleven up the street
- 4/5
walkable
- 4/5
This is a serviceable hotel with the plus of a reasonable price for NYC, a kitchenette and location. Property conditions are in need of attention. Our bathtub/shower had seen better days and the door of kitchen cabinet under the sink was falling off. The heating unit was quite noisy and tricky to control.
- 3/5
It is in a good location: convenient for the subway and midtown attractions. The staff were all quite helpful when issues arose and those on the front desk were polite. My air conditioning was not working properly - the first night coming on every 15 minutes (very noisy). The 'fix' actually stopped it working altogether, and I had to ask twice for someone to fix it (after waiting two hours) as the room was really cold. I did not find the room particularly clean, especially the kitchen. The first thing I saw on entering was a small bug on the countertop. I saw and disposed of about ten of these during my stay. The bed was comfortable and the room a good size. On balance I would say it represents the price you pay for it.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, room clean every one was nice and helpful, will recommend and return..
- 5/5
Good size property easy to access friendly staff fantastic location
- 5/5
staff was great.. bed comfy.. bathroom and kitchen area could use a bit of sprucing up
- 5/5
what a wonderful stay. they kept checking on is via text to see if we needed anything. room was clean and in a convenient area where I needed to be during our stay. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The room was average can’t really complain we got a high city view and that made it awesome.
- 3/5
The room was clean and the staff friendly, but the hotel was very basic, elevators slow and the AC unit loud (with no means of turning it off). I thought it was over priced, but then again, I don’t have any recent experience in NYC to compare it to.
- 5/5
Good value near Times Square
- 5/5
I loved my stay at Candlewood. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and so helpful. I had questions prior to my stay and they always reaponded politely. The hotel is a perfect location for singles, couples and families who want to be right in the heart of time square where you can walk to alot of the attractions. They had complimentary drinks and snacks throughout my stay which was a nice added touch. The rooms were clean and worth the price. I really loved my stay and would come back again!
- 2/5
The room was incedibly small for the price I paid. The shower was moldy and damaged and it was either too hot or too cold no matter the seeting we put the tempature.
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful and helpful, room was very comfortable. I used the kitchenette and found it convenient for a longer stay. Bed was mostly okay, mattress was a little too firm for me. I would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Walkable and convenient to the broadway theaters. Kitchen set up , fridge and microwave are very helpful indeed.
- 5/5
Great location. Room size big and clean
- 5/5
I had a great stay at hte Candlewood Suites in NYC!

They welcomed us very well. Clean room, excellent laundry!

It was easy walking to places. Felt ssfe
- 4/5
Clean comfortable room. Kitchen had everything needed. Location great.
- 5/5
The kitchenette was a big plus. Very comfortable rooms. Nice property and great location.
- 3/5
The room they gave me was not good. No window, dark. They took advantagr of my early checout (30min earlier) to assign, I guess, the wort room of the property. I was ther once before and the room I got was excellent
- 5/5
Having a kitchenette was so beneficial. The hotel is a bit dated, but well maintained. It’s a good hotel. I will surely get back.
- 4/5
Great place and I’d definitely come again. Only issue we had was connecting to the wifi.
- 4/5
The locking mechanism on the hotel door needs to function better. I would suggest replacing or upgrading the card-based locks.
- 4/5
No tienen personal para llevar las maletas a las habitaciones
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
Room 103 had a roach and bug in my pillow
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. There are only 2 elevators for 30+ floors which was very problematic especially when one of the elevators wasn’t working. Having to walk up 25 floors is not fun at all.
- 4/5
The room was compact. Bed was ok. Room was clean. We didn’t cook but had a full size fridge and small cooktop. Location was good. The restaurant across the street The Mercato was AWESOME.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was in great walking distance from Times Square and Javitits Center. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed and more (full kitchen with full size fridge, microwave, and coffee maker).
- 5/5
Great experience.
- 5/5
This was a great value and a great hotel. I really appreciated the kitchenette as I didn't want to eat in expensive restaurants all the time. I was surprised to have housekeeping service every day, although it wasn't necessary. The room was spacious and I enjoyed the comfy recliner after a day of walking the streets of the city. The only disappointment was an elevator took a while to get to your floor. A maintenance team worked on it for a few days and had it fixed by the time I left. Kudos to the friendly and accommodating staff, who texted you daily to make sure that your stay was going smoothly. The muffins and cookies were a tasty bonus. I would absolutely book this hotel again.
- 5/5
My son lives in NYC and Candlewood is my favorite place to stay when visiting him. I love the kitchen area! I am able to make my own breakfast and heat up leftovers from restaurants. The room is spacious with three seating options and it is close to the Broadway theaters and to shopping and restaurants. Also, its proximity to Penn Station and Port Authority makes it convenient whether I am coming in from an airport or from the NJ Transit. They have a little store in the lobby where you can get food items and you can also borrow small kitchen appliances, books, games, etc. Overall, a great value.
- 3/5
Hotel was very old. My room definitely needed upgrades. I had issues with the door actually opening to enter the room
- 5/5
The room was great!
- 3/5
For some reason, they charged me with travel fee something during my checkout. I don’t know what that is.
- 2/5
The toilet moved when you sat on it- definitely over paid!
- 5/5
Loved this room! The view was lackluster as you looked straight into another building, but otherwise was everything I had hoped for and more! Great bathroom, great kitchenette, great bed.
- 3/5
Nice staff. Hotel needs updating
- 5/5
Our room was clean and quiet. We appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, and fruit-flavored water in the lobby. The guest laundry was very convenient. I want to compliment employee Toulia, who was very helpful. The hotel is very well-located, with many subway and bus connections. We would definitely stay there again.
- 3/5
Staff was kind and polite. Location was great. Comfortable beds and pillows. Housekeeping kept up nicely. Rated low cause we stayed 4 nights and only hot water for 2 of those nights.
- 5/5
Very friendly, professional and accomodating staff. Awesome experience
- 1/5
Nice staff but bedbugs
- 4/5
Overall pretty good value for $$$
- 5/5
Comfortable, great location. Value for money.
- 4/5
Clean and walkable
- 5/5
Easy walk to Penn Station - decent street that's not too loud and surrounded by other hotels. Comfortable bed with a full kitchen though just used the fridge.
- 5/5
Great hotel close to everything
- 4/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Great hotel for the money. Having a kitchen was a game changer. Front desk staff are amazing!!!!!!
- 5/5
Clean, spacious rooms. Walked everywhere from this location. Loved the kitchen in the room. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Very spacious room.
- 3/5
We were would get an upper floor, but we never did and we had no warning about the destination fee which you should really make folks aware of
- 3/5
Just a few blocks to Port Authority Bus Station and subways. A short walk to Times Square. Excellent staff and customer service. We had a few issues on the second day. No hot water in the morning for showers. The hotel had a broken boiler that needed repair. The microwave didn't work, which kept us from heating our dinner that night. It was very late to go out again, so i went down to the lobby in my pjs to use the dining room microwave. Very inconvenient. We had to change rooms the next morning, which took time away from what we had planned. The 3 rooms we looked at all had issues like doors not able to close. broken hooks in the bathroom and other small items that are easy fixes. The hotel offers 1 day of housekeeping during your stay, but they cleaned our room on day 2 and we'd only checked in the night before. So the room did not need anything done. A mid stay cleaning would have been more preferable. The manager listened to my complaints, and handled them to my satisfaction. Overall the stay was OK, but i would not stay there again.
- 4/5
Great location, rooms were well equipped, and clean. Only complaint was that the front desk was not able to call us a taxi. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Tub/shower dangerously slippery. Complained and no action taken. Need grab bar at all times. Front desk inattentive and slow at times. Asked for help getting a cab and was told "we are not that type of hotel". Housekeeping friendly and thorough. Fitness area was adequate but small.
- 5/5
This place was great. Check in was easy and the man who checked us in was friendly. The room was clean and had a ton of storage space. Ours had a kitchen with a FULL fridge and freezer with a little stove top, full size microwave, toaster, and everything you could need to cook or eat. The ac worked well and was not very noisy (i am sensitive to sound) and on the 25th floor we heard no street noise lol. The lobby had coffee, etc and a little shop to get snacks. Elevator was fast - very fast. 'Room service' is basically grub hub and does not come to your room so skip that. Room had a tiny bit of a stale smell but again I am sensitive. Everything else was great.I like to stay in times sq because it's central to all of Manhattan and there are tons of restaurants and bodegas to get what you need. Its not the prettiest or cleanest park of NYC but it's a perfect home base for a trip. So for me the location was perfect. 100% recommend.
- 4/5
Close to everywhere especially to the drop off uber shuttle if you take one
- 4/5
Great location and convenient to all downtown streets.
- 4/5
Kenny at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. We would stay here again!!
- 3/5
The staff was amazing and so was the location. The room is older and could use some updating. Our shower had mold in the grouting of the shower and the fan didn’t work so we had to prop the door open to release the moisture from the shower. . The microwave was broke and they tried 3 times to fix it but still couldn’t. They said we could use the microwave in the food area in lobby. They offered an additional 15% off the room total and I don’t see it on my card. I would appreciate this additional discount as promised for the inconvenience and additional cost in our food.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, good location, friendly, provided free coffee, tea, anytime you want, just make yourself.
- 4/5
Hotel clean but rooms needs some upgrading, staff were excellent.
- 3/5
The kitchenette was convenient and the room was clean. The property did not have amenties such as a gym or pool.
- 4/5
The folks that run the place are great. Unusually friendly for New York, a real plus. One problem I had with the place. Early in my stay the faucet in the tub flew off its perch, spewing a strong stream of water all over the place. I managed to plug it in, but it was only a temporary fix. I told the front desk, they called somebody, but no one showed up to fix the thing, the whole five days I was there. That should have been taken care of because in addition to the mess, it was a safety hazard. A couple times the faucet hit me while I was standing in the shower. And hard. The people at the front desk repeatedly called "engineering" or somebody, but the issue was never addressed. I have photos.
- 5/5
El hospedaje me resultó muy bueno tanto en limpieza, atención, ubicación, muy buena relación calidad precio. Volvería sin dudarlo.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 4/5
Prime location, good value for money, great staff. The only issue was waiting for the lift which in some days was took more than 10 minutes
- 4/5
Convenient
- 4/5
I think a lot depends on what your priorities are. This hotel was great for me because I really like having the kitchenette and really didn’t mind that it could use some beautifying and upgrading and isn’t in the absolute best part of town. It was clean and quiet and all the people were nice. They even gave me some snacks and water and a little piece of chocolate was in my room. I struggled a bit with some of the outlets, I had no view, snd there was a slight water leak in the refrigerator, but it was all manageable. They texted me several times to see if I needed anything. For the most part it was quite comfortable and I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Great location, with kitchen
- 5/5
Location and quality of service. Welcoming reception staff
- 4/5
Property was a bit dated but the location is very convenient & accessible.
- 4/5
The laundry service provided is unique in NYC hotels.
- 4/5
Location
- 4/5
Like many New York City branded hotels it needs a refresh.

I loved having a kitchen!
- 4/5
I like that it's close to jollibee and times square.

THE M
- 4/5
The hotel was a good stay due to it being centrally located, cleanliness and helpful staff. I used the gym two morning which is small but has essentials. The only issues encountered poor WiFi and room odd odor. I needed to work a few hours my initial night of stay, the WiFi would not stay connected more than 10 minutes. I ended up connecting via my phone. The odor issue was resolved by opening window. It only opened slightly but it was enough to allow ventilation. Overall great stay, I loved being able to run along the Hudson River in the mornings.
- 5/5
I just spent 6 nights solo here and would absolutely stay here again. Rooms are quite large for NYC. The onsite coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade and iced water were awesome. Laundry facilities were fantastic. Clean, quiet. Staff were phenomenal. Air conditioning worked perfectly. No issues with hot water. Location location location. Everything you need is within walking distance. Subway stops to everywhere are super close. Can’t recommend this hotel enough!!
- 5/5
Best location
- 5/5
Fabulous spot for all our sightseeing We were on top the floor 29.. which helped with the noice levels of sirens. Staff all friendly and helpful. Very happy with stay and its cleanliness.
- 5/5
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was convenient and very easy to get around the city. The location was perfect, clean, the staff was incredibly helpful and overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something just a little bit off the beaten path, but still convenient to everything else.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. The room was a good size and included a refrigerator freezer and other appliances.
- 5/5
All in all property was very nice and quiet. Staff was great. The only complaint we really had was not knowing the time of day that housekeeping would show up for the first few mornings we left to go see the sites came back in the afternoon and the room would be clean Towards the end of our six nights stay we went out in the morning to return to the room, not being cleaned only to have housekeeping knock at the end of the day while we were taking a nap having consistent schedule would have helped us schedule our day accordingly
- 5/5
Good service and always asking what they can help with. Walking distance from everything in the Times Square area
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay very much.

CLEAN ROOM
- 1/5
We checked in for a two night stay and ended up leaving early. They shoved us into the back room on the first floor. One of three rooms behind the desk and the lobby and it was so loud. The window in the room looked into a supply room had people banging around at all hours of the night. The microwave was missing, fridge was practically unusable, the door was shaky and didn’t latch well. It was so unsafe. The shower barely worked. Worst of all we found a cockroach in our room. We checked out early but they still charged us for any random fee they could. “Recreation fee”, etc. I never leave reviews. But this was the worst experience we’ve had. I am glad they at least refunded us for the night we didn’t stay there but didn’t return any taxes or fees. It unfortunately ruined our trip. If I were to do it again, I would spend a bit more money for something way nicer. Even though we thought we did spend a lot. Almost 1,000 for two nights is insane.

I've stayed in so many Hilton properties multiple times you'd think I'd have racked enough points for at least a free night's stay but to no avail. Hilton makes all these excuses that I didn't book thru them therefore point accumulation does not count. what a bunch of BS. No free breakfast like the other hotels we stayed in.
- 5/5
I liked how close the hotel was to many popular sightseeing areas. The staff was very nice and the room was spacious and spotless. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would consider staying here again.
- 5/5
This property is absolute value for money. The place is excellently located and the staff and personnel make the stay extra special. I had a great stay and can’t wait to come back in my next visit.
- 3/5
The air condition was bad no cold air in the room and there was a leakage of water
- 5/5
Nice place to stay for 6 days. The staff very friendly. I felt very comfortable and mostly secure.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and clean, room was spacious. Complimentary snacks at check-in and daily complimentary lemonade everyday in the foyer. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Great location hotel not far from times square, attentive staff and reasonable price. Lesson for me not to choose room by hotel lobby since it's often loud with thin walls next door rooms, hole in stove top burner and microwave had no glass for turn while heating food. Bathtub needs non slip since it's slippery.
- 3/5
Not worth the money except for proximity to the downtown.. The rooms are shabby and old.. Bathrooms are rusty..

This was my first stay at candlewood suites and I will go back. They are in a fantastic location, the room was spacious and clean, the staff were amazing. I have nothing negative to say, I had an excellent stay.
- 5/5
It was convenient with a large refrigerator and kitchen
- 5/5
I stayed here as a female solo traveler and I felt safe and comfortable. Staff was personable and helpful. The location was perfect, and the room had everything I needed especially the refrigerator and microwave. This is my new go to hotel in NYC.

Not bad value for money in New York which is just super expensive from a UK Pound point of view. Staff work hard and are friendly but hotel is getting a little worn . We were allowed an early check in and late check out which was good. Bedrooms are decent size and have a bath and kitchenette. Double glazing does not keep out traffic noise and constant sirens. Lift buttons don’t light up and bath plug doesn’t work. Lacks enough cooking implements to do much cooking. Bed linen and pillows are lovely and soft. Aircon is highly effective but noisy. Gym is smallish and in basement. Lauderette is free to use and a plus. Reception area is pleasant and has free drinks and treats which is good after a long day dodging traffic on the mean streets. This area of Midtown had its fair share of vagrants but most are not aggressive . There is a constant stink of skunk cannabis on the streets. Hotel is well located and just minutes from subway at 42nd Street and Time Sq. might we worth spending a little more because everything is so expensive anyway .

Strategic location Clean rooms Front desk 24hr service

The hotel was clean and the service was excellent, but the rooms need remodeling.

let us check in early, had complimentary water, waterbottles, and lemonade. very nice staff

Nice hotel for price
- 4/5
The hotel is great it’s just the area around it has gone way down ,it’s a shame because this use to be my go to spot I’ve stayed there at least 3 other times in the past. So I will say great hotel , great customer service it’s just the neighborhood that has gone downhill terribly.

Awesome customer service. Great location in b/t Hells Kitchen & Times Square!
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Room was big enough for the two of us
- 5/5
I love the kitchenette that is provided. The staff is accommodating and prompt, accessible through the room phone or text. This is my second time staying here, and I would come here again whenever I visit NYC.
- 3/5
It was problemd with the elevator
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice. The room was spacious. Walking distance to everything. The TV channels weren't the greatest. I only got a quarter of the channels listed. Please have prices listed for the items to purchase in the food pantry. Please be specific about housekeeping for those staying less than a week. It would help if you had 12 ounce cups for the coffee.
- 5/5
Amazing stay near Times Square! The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city. The room was cozy and clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved being able to walk to all the iconic spots in Times Square. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC
- 5/5
Hotel was clean. Quiet and comfortable. In a good location.
- 3/5
However, the room I was in could use a bit of upgrading, especially the air conditioner unit and better choices of tv programs.
- 3/5
The staff were very responsive. We had issues with our refrigerator and once reported, the management quickly sent someone to our room to fix it. However, the TV channel options were awful, most of the programs were of very old movies (from 10+ years ago). Most channels had no signal and the ones were working the screen was dark.

Great property with a kitchen and everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Very quiet and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It was a bit weird that the toilet seat would not stay up and that there is no place to drop off your garbage if you order take out. You have to call the front desk and arrange for someone to pick it up from your room. The location also did not feel safe as there were numerous homeless people outside who were fighting in the street when I was there, but that's true for much of NYC these days.
- 4/5
Close to everything but room needed to be cleaned better.
- 5/5
I will definitely stay here again room was clean staff was very polite lots of stores nearby close to time square also walking distance to a market I give this hotel a 10
- 5/5
I enjoyed seven days at this location. I enjoyed every minute of it. I will be back.
- 5/5
Having a full kitchen was ideal.
- 3/5
Staff is friendly.
- 3/5
Excellent location and great staff service; property was dated and could use a carpet refresh. Room was comfortable for NYC standards. Good hotel for the price and location
- 5/5
Cute chocolate square on entrance but it was mint flavored 😅
- 4/5
The employees are excellent as is the service they render. The location of the hotel is perfect for those interested in attending Broadway shows. A good kitchen. That said, the rooms need a total overhaul. Chipped cabinets, torn curtains, door with lock missing and not closing properly. Only one fork and 2 knives. Could use additional cutlery. This is my second time at the hotel and what brought me back were the employees. This time Laura was great and last year, Ken.
- 4/5
The gentleman at the front desk of Candlewood was fantastic. Ditto for the staff.
- 3/5
The elevators are old. The staff is friendly
- 5/5
Convenient location, we walked or rode the subway everywhere. They had water in the lobby since it was hot. We had a kitchenette but chose to eat out. The room had a small recliner which was perfect for relaxing. I paid extra for a higher floor but all you could see were bricks and windows from the hotel next to us so it was wasted money.
- 5/5
The hotel is in walking distance of many activities and restaurants. The valet service makes things so much easier if you have your car. Although there’s no in and out privileges for it, it still beats city parking lots. This way you’re not dragging your luggage through the city. The room was very clean and organized.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Hotel personnel were professional and courteous. Rate was reasonable.
- 5/5
Good experience. Would stay again
- 5/5
Such a great place to stay! Walking distance from Penn Station and plenty to eat and see close by!!
- 4/5
The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating holding our luggage after checkout. We had a nice stay and value for a Times Square hotel. Not fancy but the mini kitchen worked well. We appreciated the iced teas as usual:).
- 2/5
The location is great and close to Time Square - just a short walk.
- 4/5
Overall alright but it's overpriced for the small size room. There's no light on the ceiling and barely any natural light. There are only two lifts for the whole building. It takes very long for the lift to arrive. So basically it's alright, but not impressed
