Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests expressing dissatisfaction over cleanliness, maintenance, and staff behavior. However, the location and affordability are frequently praised.
- Affordable pricing
- Convenient location
- Poor cleanliness and maintenance
- Unhelpful or unfriendly staff
- 4/5
Very comfortable beds, and clean. Most important.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, good place to spend a night or two, especially for the price.
- 4/5
This location was decent. The only trouble I had was that my refrigerator in my room did not work. The expectation of having to pay $40 when I got there was accurate, but the staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean, the bed was fresh and comfy, and the TV in the room worked for streaming. The bathroom was small, but had all the necessary amenities. The air conditioning worked, no huge complaints.

They over booked and we lost our room with 2 beds we had to settle with a single bed room. They comp'd us the $15 fee which was nice. Also no toilet paper or amenities in the room needed to request these. Room had good AC, clean and a working tv. So not too bad
- 1/5
Good: - ac worked - low cost hotel - bar across the streets Bad: - cockroaches - turned off water workout notice - Asked for towels and paper but never got it - toilet was leaking a little

Great Location, great value, clean and comfortable. I'll be back when in NYC.
- 4/5
Good if you are on a budget
- 4/5
Pros: - Clean room for a decent price - Comfortable bed - Great Chinese food all around the hotel Cons: - Only a tiny bedside table in the room, so there is no place to put stuff aside from the floor - Lots of hallway noise late at night (bring earplugs) - Window A/C unit was loud
- 4/5
s job. Thank you "Canal Loft Hotel" for having us!
- 3/5
Room was clean, bed was comfortable but only 1 pillow each. Linen changed and clean towels. Budget hotel but the room/shower room was modern. Trouble with the door lock. Took multiple attempts every time we tried to get in and no one was available to help.
- 2/5
Room had no tv . 📺 instead an old damaged picture was on wall where tv was supposed to be. They had no idea when I reported it. No discount offered. I could have switched rooms but it was late and 1 night only.
- 1/5
Since we arrived the girl at the counter seemed to be upset, later I noticed she was there probably for a long day, no body else was there, on of the beds was dirty the pillow smelled like sweat, next day they changed our night stand and lamp, and left the dirty towels on the floor, they did replace them, the bathroom got soaked in water cause the contain was not good, the place doesn’t look like the pictures, they stack all the furniture inside the room that was supposed to be for guest chilling area I guess ? But it looks depressing, notice this is china town, so be prepared for not be in NYC at all, is more smelly and more nasty than downtown, lots off smoking people in the streets, is horrible to walk around, streets are full of boxes, trash and commerce, have to walk long blocks to get the subway, what catches my attention the most is how they play the pictures to make it look nice and once I got there: no nice curtains, not places to hung around or wait, carpet smells nasty, all over, we didn’t like it, and regret it big time …

There was no hand soap, the lighting was poor, there were no luggage racks for our suitcases. There is a food transfer business next door that operates in the street below the north windows that is very noisy. There are sirens from the Fire Dragons unit of the fire department on the next block.

Front desk lady needs to be trained better. On my Expedia receipt, it shows that I only need to pay 15$ at the property but they asked for 31$ and cash only. I show them the receipt and the front desk lady took a look at it and started texting. No explanation of why there was an error, no apology, nothing. I told them I could only do credit card and only paying 15$ or else we could call the police. Ridiculous.
- 3/5
This is a very basic place to sleep. Virtually no amenities - no coffee maker in the room nor lobby, no TV or mini-fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable - no complaints about that. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear everything from the street below.
- 2/5
I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, it was a cheap stay and I don’t recommend it. Pay extra buck and go somewhere nicer.
- 3/5
Hotel was fine. Loved the rumbling train on Manhattan bridge
- 5/5
This is a quaint little hotel with clean twin sized beds next to the Manhattan Bridge. Close to the subway. Very safe. It was quiet and comfortable. It had a microwave and mini refrigerator. The air conditioning and heat worked perfectly. The shower curtain was too short for the stand up shower. I would stay here again.

This hotel is excellent, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave me good recommendations on dining in the area and directions for the subway.
- 2/5
The tvs are always messed up and my key card almost never worked, I had to keep going down to front desk to assist me with a new key card like 3 times
- 3/5
Furniture in my room looked beat up, and the mirror in the closet was cracked. I asked for ICE, and they said they had none in the hotel.
- 3/5
Front desk tried to charge me an additional $79 on check-in, otherwise the location was convenient, the room was average and commensurate with the cost. I would stay here again
- 3/5
I was made to pay an additional $58 upon checking in. This was unexpected because when choosing this location I did so on price. Expedia says "all taxes and fees included" but that was not the case. The bed was comfy and the linens, soft, and location pretty cool.

The place is ok, it needs more up keep, the reception area should be kept clean and odorless

I wanted so much for this hotel. I wish they had coffee or tea. The closet mirror was cracked. The air conditioner was great tho. The shower don't have liners or curtains that can do both. Cheap. No wash cloths, bring your own. The fridge and freezer will freeze everything. Lol! The trash can is tiny and there's no overhead lighting. Terrible lighting actually. The hotel? I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5. Especially for the amount spent, the lack of, is disappointing.

Staff was so rude omggg!! Rooms were dirty and hideous, stains all over the beds, duck tape holding the batteries in on the remote and the shower did not work. Smelled like a dumpster and turned my stomach the entire stay! Literally disgusting and they claim they have no management so I guess they hired themselves.

I couldn't tell anything... The hotel is located in Manhattan yet the street and the general location isn't great. The streets are dirty, they do not look safe. The room wasn't clean, it was smelly, especially the bed smelled really bad. The lights have not worked. Our hotel key hasn't worked, kept trying to get in for 10-15 mins. The staff was no show at the reception when we went to raise. Decided to check out and move to another hotel. When I raised the issues, I was offered a new room but no financial compensation. The hotel managment refused any refund. At the end got a tiny compensation from Booking.com that wouldn't even cover one night stay I paid. Never had such bad experience in my life. It seems appealing the price they sell their rooms but I do not recommend to book here.
- 3/5
Overall, not the worst location if you want to be in Chinatown and canal st. Close to good stuff 10 min walks away. Hotel itself could use a refurbish in general. It provided a clean bed, hot water tv with no remote and overall safe place to sleep. No frills you pay for what you get. Room had paint missing on every wall, holes in the wall and fire alarm not intact. But again not bad. Honestly not bad, not good…but, not bad.
- 4/5
Nice staffs , internet was excellent, TV in my room doesn’t work, but staff offered to switch room for us. Lighting in the room are little too dark! Best if you can have a coffee maker, microwave and phone inside the room. Overall the room is very spacious! Definitely will stay here again on my next visit! Keep up with the good work!
- 3/5
Needed an emergency place to stayed for three days. The room was mid level. The refrigerator was broken, the remote control did not have no volume. the ceiling had dirty marks, and lastly it was questionable people walking in and out the lobby. So I had big safety concerns. Over all my experience was doable.

Found a crack pipe in the window panel which shows how the house keepers ARE NOT cleaning thoroughly before the next guest

Not the best
- 1/5
The room itself had several issues. The shower barely functioned, making it difficult to get proper water pressure or temperature. The toilet seat was cracked, which was both uncomfortable and concerning from a hygiene standpoint. On top of that, the heater seemed to dry out the air so much that it irritated my sinuses throughout the night. The worst part of our stay came on the last day, when we discovered cockroaches in the room. That was completely unacceptable and overshadowed everything else. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend staying here.

- The location is excellent. Chinatown is a little dirty but there's tons of great food, cool museums and shops, and really close to the subway. The hotel is right across from a great bar that's always bumping. - Price is great. Probably can't get much cheaper in NYC w/o really getting bad. Cons: - Holy cow this place was DIRTY. There were stains on our sheets and we had to kill a cockroach. I had BLOOD stains on my pillow and it took a day for them to get me a new one. Ridiculous. - The staff straight up don't care. Don't expect even a "hello". - Showers sucked. Only one bad shower curtain and terrible pressure. - The outlets in the room don't hold your charger block, so you have to prop them up. Some don't even work. - Carpet needs replacing in all the rooms - You have to pay an extra $70 just because you booked on Hotels.com. Weird. - TV disconnected so basically useless - Wifi sucks
- 3/5
The property was at a decent location The front desk lady was rude to us. I think she was Russian and had a strong accent when we asked for towels and toilet paper she said she would have someone come up but didn’t ask our room number. I heard her being friendly to other guest and she was having a full on conversation but every-time we walk in/out she also looked at us with a face. Our last night there we were locked out of our hotel our card was no longer working so we had to go down and ask for a new card

And very weird system in Expedia that not included city tex and service fee into my receipt of Expedia app that mean you have to pay the other tax at the hotel when you check-in. That makes misunderstand each other and not very clear at the same time too. I’m very disappointed the hotel and Expedia too. I strongly recommend to get the other hotels that pay a bit more for your nice day.
- 4.5/5
Despite the amazing Manhattan Chinatown location, both the room itself and the surroundings had cleanliness issues that could be improved.
- 5/5
The room is very clean, comfortable and spacious. The entrance to the building didn’t have security clearance. It should have a buzzer system. To ensure only customers staying in the hotel can enter.

Very clean, very good value, quiet (presumably thick walls and floors), excellent bed. 5" walk to Grand St subway via fun, safe, almost exclusively Chinese neighborhood. Great Taste Chinese restaurant just around the corner to the left if you are facing the front door of the hotel is top rated as it should be. Well-stocked, open late Hi Rise drug store/grocery over your left shoulder as you face the front door of the hotel. For me CLH hit the sweet spot between comfort, cost (in March'26, once all the taxes and fees added in, and booking.com discount subtracted, $120/night) and location (20+" subway ride to Met). As long as the prices stay competitive, CLH is my first choice for future visits. In my fantasy world CLH would be walking distance to the Met Museum, and cost less.

This hotel is conveniently located near subway stops in a vibrant local community on Canal Street. The rooms were clean, although dated, the front desk staff was helpful, and best of all I was able to store my luggage before check-in and after check-out so I could enjoy the city before returning to the airport without worrying about my bags.

Felt really sketchy. The inside lock was sawed off and there was a keyhole on the door so it felt like the owners could open it if they have the key. The keycard we were given took 5 tries of going upstairs and downstairs to get it programmed to work. The room was clean though. The bed felt comfortable. The walls were VERY thin and you could hear the other guests well all through the night, however.

This hotel is not in a very good neighborhood. The subway station is only 3 blocks away but you have to walk through a very sketchy area, we saw drugs being bought in the park between the hotel and the subway and also saw some empty syringes on the ground too. We had 2 different rooms because our first room would not lock when we tried to leave. Both rooms had views of Chinatown with tons of garbage piled up on the sidewalks all 4 days we were there. Our reservation said "city view" and I'm not sure what that meant to them but I wasn't expecting to see the dirty streets of Chinatown. Also both rooms that we stayed in had near empty rolly of toilet paper in them, and no additional rolls. I had to track down a housekeeper halfway thru our stay to ask for another roll of toilet paper. I was also told housekeeping would come every other day so I was expecting at least one visit for our 4 day stay to get new towels but they never came. I will say the room had excellent heat and great water pressure in the shower. The bed was very comfortable as well. Overall, the room was ok and affordable but not worth having to deal with the unsafe neighborhood and subway commutes.

They do charge 30 bucks for taxes, etc. when you check in. I knew that because Hotels.com told me about when I booked. A very lively neighborhood is a bonus, and it’s just a couple of blocks from the legendary Dimes restaurant and Metrograph theatre. I’d give it five stars but then everyone would expect the Hyatt and be disappointed.

The location was convenient. However, the reception was very lackluster in help. After asking about upgrading to another room with 2 beds, the receptionist replied, without looking, that every room was occupied. Upon walking into the room, there was a roach crossing the bed. After checking with the receptionist about this, I noticed a mouse run through the lobby. The morning of check out, we were woken up by somebody banging on the door down the hall. This happened again about an hour before check out.

There was no hand soap in the room, I notified staff, she notified housekeeping, four hours later still no soap, staff graciously looked herself and found the only bottle of soap available and gave to us. The shower did not work, and the tub was clogged. There were women's fake eyelashes in the bed, and ash as if someone has smoked in the bed.

I don’t understand how they can have pictures up that are completely completely inaccurate. The rooms don’t look like these pictures, the lobby definitely doesn’t look like these pictures, there are no amenities like shown. It is very deceptive unfortunately.

Had to request a remote for the TV - one roll of toilet paper available - soap dispenser empty in the shower - room was very small. Staff seemed disinterested. Room was clean, however, and priced right. If you just want a place to shower and sleep, you could do worse.

A terrible r view was given to this hotel. We can start with terrible customer service at check in, followed by hidden fees once check in. What made this a complete terrible experience is the roaches in the room and no room service. Our stayed was a complete nightmare. Would never stay at this hotel again.

It was clean, a good price, just feet from a corner deli that had hot and cold food. Very close to things nice to look at when walking. Apparently it is just on the edge of what is considered china town. I don't know about parking, I ubered from airport.

I did complain at the moment, they tried their best I’m sure, I didn’t quit see it but ya never know when someone is just having an off day and it’s not all the time. I wish I would have just spent more money and stayed somewhere a little nicer, and closer to Times Square.

I’m not sure why the bad ratings. We thought the place was clean. Staff was friendly enough. Decent location. The only thing is they do have luggage storage but if it’s crowded you might have to leave your bags in an unattended area of the lobby. Otherwise we would definitely stay here again.

Reasonably good place to stay. Room was pretty barebones but the bed was as comfortable. Toilet didn’t work well and leaked from the water chamber. The shower head functioned but was broken. The water however was warm quickly. The soap dispenser didn’t work but fortunately I carry a bar with me. Location is excellent right in the midst of Chinatown. I’ve stayed in better and I’ve stayed in worse. Price was decent for NYC.

Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff - needed an extra pillow for the extra comfort and got one right away. Area is well connected and in the middle of the (non-touristy part) of Chinatown, which I loved. The hotel does the job and I got everything I needed, a cheap, but clean and well located stay.

The hotel front desk were unable to help me with simple requests like printing a folio/receipt, changing my check out date (I requested in advance within my cancellation policy when the change should have been allowed). Their booking system doesn't seem to work very well. I was overcharged an extra night of service fee and only was refunded because I asked them to double check. We also only got housekeeping 1 of the 4 nights we were there which isn't a big deal, but feels annoying when you pay an extra service fee per day. Don't bother leaning on the front desk manager for help - she was rude to me and to the other customers who asked for help with their room......which didn't have a working toilet. I felt bad for them and they got upset, but only because of her attitude and blatant unwillingness to try ro help them.
- 4/5
It was ok
- 2/5
The staff do not seem to care about customer service. When I arrived to drop off my bags, the lady at the front desk seemed annoyed and didn't bother to really help me. When I came back later at check in time, the desk was unoccupied (mind you it was PEAK check in time for guests), and they took quite a while to come to the desk once I called. The hotel itself didn't seem really clean... I found hair in the bathtub and just overall felt kind of gross. On the bright side, the heater worked and my stay was only one night! I think it's worth it to pay a little more and stay somewhere more clean, safe, and friendly!

The room was clean and cleaned daily but very small. Most lights in the room did not work. The staff were not welcoming and not very helpful. Close to many stations which was amazing. However, will not stay here anymore.
- 3/5
The best part of this hotel is the location. Given the lower price, I wasn't expecting too much, but the pictures on the listing are old and the property is much more run down than the pictures would indicate. That being said, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable (even though the pillows were thin), the bathroom was clean. There were no bugs to be found at all. There are no TVs or phones in the room, but the Wifi was decent. The major issue that I discovered at the end of my stay was that the door did not lock well. Locking it from the inside was easy and secure, but when you left the room, the door was able to be opened without the key card. There was no staff present at the desk when I checked out to inform. If I would have noticed earlier, I would have requested a room change. Fortunately, no one entered the room while I was away from it and nothing was stolen, but it could have been a disaster.

- 4/5
This hotel served our need for a good night’s sleep after an 11 hour nonstop flight. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The location leaves a lot to be desired but the price was right. Ty hey also let us leave our bags after checkout so we could roam NYC comfortably before heading home.
- 4/5
The neighborhood is a tad dicey and the facade is questionable - not great street appeal at the entrance. The room is fine, bigger than most and clean, but the whole vibe is a bit disappointing. But, have to admit, a bargain at the price.
- 3/5
The hotel was advertised nicer than it is. But we never felt unsafe and is a nice cheaper option for staying in the city. Not a lot of amenities and run down. Room did not smell and the bed was comfortable albeit stained cover.
- 5/5
Location!
- 1/5
Holes in the wall. Broken furniture. Multiple bug sightings. Extremely nosy throughout the nite and early morning hours.
- 3/5
It did well considering the price. Subway stations within a 20 minute walk. Wear sturdy shoes! The Brooklyn Bridge is within walking distance. I’d go again!
- 3/5
Great location and value but it was disappointing that there was not someone at the front desk during checkout and at various times throughout each day. When I called to ask if I could drop off my bags before check in and was told that I could. However, it was not explained that there would be no space for them except behind the front desk, which was not monitored therefore leaving our bags out in the open and unsafe.

Room is not well equipped, dated, and generally uninviting. I was uncomfortable.
- 4/5

Clean with a great a/c real nice guy at the front desk on check in, a good deli for grub and coffee across the street on the corner and a short walk of 10 minutes to Little Italy, Second stay there and will go back again and park close by in a garage at 2 Division Street
- 5/5
My room was clean and nice. Got my own bathroom microwave and fridge. Staff was very nice and helpful anytime we need something. Ac and heater works great. It is a very good spot in Chinatown and walkable to any stores and the subway. I would stay here again :)

As advertised
- 4/5
Room was clean. I overlooked that room does not include a tv. But we honestly didn’t have a lot of down town to watch anything. Lot of noise outside. Staff is friendly.
- 2/5
The room was small, and missing basic features such as a phone, full length mirror and a good chunk of the outlets didnt work. We had to get our key card rekeyed everytime we left, and the toilet ran the entire we were there. When we brought it up to the front desk, they suggested we turn the water off if it was too loud when sleeping.
- 2/5
The a/c kept the room cool, but it was very noisy. The cleaning products used made the room smell and caused an allergic reaction. The luggage rack was broken, and they didn't have another.
- 3/5
There were plenty of subway stations near by. Price was also reasonable.
- 5/5
Very nice young man at our check in. That was much appreciated.
- 1/5
For starters, the staff are very unprofessional, always on their phone and don’t seem to care about the people staying there. Our room smelled like pee but were able to switch rooms which is the only good thing I have to say. There was no blow dryer like in the description and the tv was broken. The location is away from everything so long subway rides. The whole place in general smelled bad and dirty and is not worth any penny. Save up for a much better hotel. You get what you pay for but over a grand for 5 nights is still way too much for what this place is.

- 1/5
Overbooked hotel, did not honor reservation yet still charged full price for the stay. Rude staff, do not stay here.
- 2/5
Could not accept a digital card payment. Could not provide a receipt for our credit card payment until checkout. Claimed company policy. At 1am we were woken by the same staff member and its friend talking and laughing loudly outside our room in the corridor. We suggest this employee be moved on. He/she is no good for business!! Facilities in the room were OK, but basic. Local area in which hotel is located is filthy.
- 5/5
It was convenient
- 2/5
Dingy, run-down property with no amenities whatsoever. I had repeated issues with the room keys not working, as did other guests. The sheets and towels were clean, but everything felt very run down. I do not recommend staying here unless you have no other options. It's one step above a by-the-hour kind of establishment. I did not feel safe walking back to this hotel after dark.
- 3/5
This property is… old. The lobby is hot and smells of old diapers and something else I can’t quite place. The elevator smells even worse but is also stuffy. The location is wonderful if you’re visiting Chinatown or Little Italy. The bed is clean but there is only one pillow. I asked for 2 additional pillows and was told I’d have them if they could FIND extras- they found ONE and it looks a little scary. It won’t be touching my head. The room is clean and looks recently updated. The air conditioner puts out really cold air and the room has a fun view of the street outside.
- 1/5
Very dirty. Appliances didn’t work. No soap. No remote for tv. No fridge. Dirty
- 2/5
Shower head dripped water constantly, flooding the bathroom floor and making splashing noises through the closed door. Staff tried their best but no other room was available.
- 4/5
It was a nice small room, comfortable for one night.
- 2/5
Beds were hard. Rooms were not cleaned but got new towels and made the bed once in 4 days. Hidden service charge. Key card didn’t work and had to get a new one each day.
- 4/5
Air conditioning didn’t work.
- 1/5
Never again
- 4/5
The hotel is in a very convenient location, there are many places to walk nearby. The renovation is not very fresh, dirty spots on the carpet, bedding and towels. Very noisy, you can hear everything that happens on the street. If you just came to walk and see the city, then this is a normal option.
- 5/5
It was exactly what we needed. No frills, but clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff was very nice. I was surprised to find no hangers, and only one small, broken drawer in the very small, IKEA style armoire. Two of the four light above the bathroom mirror were out & there was a cockroach in the bathroom. For the price, in NYC, it could have been worse. There was an aggressive panhandler Saturday morning at 6:15am that was a bit scary.
- 3/5
The room was in good condition, as described and clean. The room was not ready when we arrived and the person working the front desk had to be called to check us in.
- 5/5
small clean room. just what you need in manhatten
- 2/5
Compared to previous visits to this property, I am very unimpressed. The property is less clean, the rooms are sparser; we had no lockbox, no “do not disturb” sign, the majority of the outlets didn’t work. There is no daily service unless requested at the desk. I will not stay here again, and that’s a shame because I like the neighborhood.
- 3/5
The room was clean, although the carpet was sus (I recommend bringing house shoes), and the lobby smelled like cat food, but I bet there was no cat. I'm willing to bet that there's folks there who rent monthly, it looks like renovated apartment units. That being said, the proce was right, and I was close to everything I came back to the city for. If you want luxury, this isnt it. If you want a bed, Roku TV and a door that locks, you'll definitely find that here.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Located in Chinatown.
- 4/5
after all was good
- 4/5
Good stay for a weekend
- 4/5
The mattress was comfortable.
- 4/5
Decent for the price considering other NYC options. Nice fresh towels and comfy bed and AC. Could do with a few touch ups generally and providing enough toilet roll. An iron would’ve been good.
- 1/5
The hotel was not clean. Old everything. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Towels with holes and dirty. Staff unfriendly. Elevator broken. No hot water for the shower for two days. The entry is located next door to a storage facility and you have to dodge machinery, unloading and loading merchandise. It was not worth the money.
- 4/5
The carpet had gum. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised. Canal loft should strike a parking lot deal with a nearby garage. I think Expedia should quote based upon overnight stays rather than days. The hotel is worthwhile to stay
- 1/5
First bedroom TV was broken and sheets were dirty. Got moved into new bedroom by 2nd of stay where the headboard was busted up and the closet mirror was shattered.
- 5/5
Perfect & convenient & love that you get a bathroom
- 5/5
Great place
- 1/5
Pictures are deceiving my room has stains everywhere. My headboard is crumbling. The elevator slow there’s no air circulation. This is actually the worst hotel I ever been in
- 2/5
Clean room but bed was not made on the second night, toilet paper was missing and soap spender empty. But worst is thet you cant sleep as you only have the choice of a noisy a/c or a hot room
- 2/5
Odd sounds constantly in the night.
- 3/5
There is a permanent stench in the air that permeates your clothes from the garbage on the streets around the hotel. The lady who works the front desk during the day always had headphones in and took forever to notice that we were standing in front of her with a question. She never smiled and gave quick, one-word answers to our questions and acted annoyed that we had interrupted her watching whatever she was watching on her phone.
- 5/5
Clean reasonably priced
- 5/5
Exactly what is needed for a hotel room. A+
- 3/5
Room was pretty clean. Beds were comfortable. AC was great. Staff was good. They didn’t have kettle in room to heat water. Only basic amenities. We were over all happy with the stay. This place is in China Town and the neighbourhood was bad. It stinked.
- 3/5
Subway is only 6 minutes walking and your super close to little Italy and the bus that takes you to World Trade Center
- 5/5
Not bad for the price
- 3/5
Lack of overall effort on their part. No toilet paper in room nor shampoo dispenser. They did bring it right up. Don't even make the effort to provide coffee in any form. I've been in $10 rooms in Thailand where they provide coffee. Left door open all the time to creepy store room with stacks of used mattresses and other crap.
- 4/5
Adequate room, met expectations. It was fine for 1 night. I expected the room to be loud and it definitely was. Very convenient location in Chinatown.
- 4/5
The place is nice and convenient but there was one staff daylight shift and I asked for neccessities of toilet paper in our room and she was never helpful and did not provide us. Good thing a guy from midnight shift was very nice and accomodating and he exceeded my expectation when it comes to customer service.
- 1/5
This should be taken off the list for 10/10 stars and a hotel.. This property doesn’t compare to what a hotel is, whether good or bad!! I have never stayed in anything like this.. there’s no phone in the room to make calls not to the front desk, there’s no headboard, furniture only a bed.. this is not a hotel it’s a filthy room that has cockroaches..I tried to
- 3/5
The photos on Expedia seem better than what I had. There was no safety box and I have to ask for room change since the TV wasn’t working. In general the staff is amicable and the hotel was well located but needs improvements.
- 3/5
It’s fine for what you’re paying, don’t expect anything fancy
- 5/5
Property was clean , room in great condition !
- 3/5
The rooms are bigger than the typical NYC hotel within the same price range. Close to transportation —train- buses. The lobby always has a raw food/meat smell but if you bypass that, it will be a decent stay.
- 1/5
This place looks extremely tired . It needs new carpeting
- 2/5
The employees are nice and doing the best with what the hotel has to offer . NYC is very expensive so this place for $150-$200 is affordable . The carpets are dingy and with stains, the beds are marginal and the sheets looked wrinkled. I guess the sheets were clean but thin and hard to tell if they had been changed . The dresser looked like something picked up from the garbage bin with holes . The tv was cracked and the left side did not have image. The bathroom was clean and it appeared better than the rest of the room . I was told this hotel was used to host immigrants who trashed the place . It definetly could improve 100% with different carpet or pergo flooring .
- 1/5
The most terrible hotel I’ve ever been too never again

China town options are great for low cost dinners like dumplings!
- 4/5
The room was great for the amount i paid.
- 2/5
Not for light sleepers.
- 5/5
I have to give this hotel 5 stars because of the value. The room was clearly recently renovated but VERY basic. There were no extras like ironing board or a hair dryer. I requested non smoking but my room smelled like smoke. Housekeeping did the bare minimum. However it was clean, sheets were super soft and comfy, front desk was mostly friendly and I slept great. Two blocks from Manhattan. Easy walk to Little Italy. Such an amazing value for NYC.
- 1/5
Conditions is bad
- 1/5
The room was small, unclean. There were cockroaches walking around. Floor and wall were dirty, unclean
- 5/5
I flew in on a red eye and needed to rest desperately before I had to make a film screening later in the day… the front desk woman was quite friendly and accommodating - I paid an extra fee so I could check in a few hours beforehand. The room itself was clean, and bed was comfortable. The lamp next to the bed wasn’t working but I didn’t stay in the room for long, so I didn’t mind. I stayed on the 4th floor and it was quiet … there are some other buildings that can see into the room if you have the lights on and blinds open (like any apartment in Manhattan facing other buildings) so maybe just don’t walk around naked with the blinds open. I was worried from many of the other rooms that it was going to be really gross or dirty but i am pleased to report my room was clean and I’m very satisfied with the price, location and quality. It’s not fancy so if you need a no frills central place, definitely consider it. Bathroom was clean and towels were fresh and white. They do hold luggage, but it’s not hidden in a back room.. it’s kinda just a makeshift holding area behind the front desk.. so if you’ve got expensive valuables.. maybe consider using a service like BOUNCE to hold your luggage. Also, I took the subway from JFK to the hotel, and it was about an hour commute… and a very easy walk once I exited. Tons of food options nearby.. and I had to go to Tribeca so about a 15 minute walk. A- rating! Thank you!
- 1/5
Didn’t feel safe. Waited more than 15 minutes in lobby.
- 1/5
Really basic. No amenities. Disappointed
- 1/5
This hotel was nothing like what was shown online. The moment I entered, I was hit by an overpowering smell that set the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was in poor condition—there were noticeable stains all over the carpet, and the walls had several patched holes that hadn't been painted over. The bathroom was especially disappointing. I was provided with less than a quarter roll of toilet paper—maybe 15 squares—and the bathtub had so many marks and stains that I questioned whether it was actually clean. Despite advertising 24-hour reception, when I left in the morning, there was only a note left at the desk with a phone number to call if we had issues. This means anyone from the street could have walked in unchecked, which made me feel unsafe. I ended up staying just one night and had to go back and forth between the manager and the booking site to get a refund. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 2/5
This hotel was kind of laughably bad. The walls were spackled but not painted, carpet was dirty, two flat pillows on a full size bed and when we asked for more pillows they gave us little throw pillows in pillow cases. Card to our room kept not working so my boyfriend kept running down to the lobby every time we tried to get back in the room. Its only redemption is that the bathroom was clean, the sheets seemed clean, and the ac worked. I would not stay here again.
- 2/5
The staff wasn’t terrible. The condition of the room however , I just would’ve expected more cleanliness for the $100 price point and given the space or lack thereof in the room. I had an issue with the shower and knowing how to operate it , called to the front desk and no answer. I was in a rush to head to an event so I didn’t have time to take the elevator down and back up as it’s very slow and I had a call time to meet. I suggest staying here when you won’t really occupy the room. I would highly recommend bringing cleaning supplies to spiffy up the bathroom , especially the shower.
- 5/5
Great place to stretch out and rest in a quiet room. Good location, walkable distance to Chinatown and Little Italy.
- 4/5
The room was a pretty good size for two people. It was clean and had a nice view of the street to see all the action of the local people who live and work there. The location was nice to see all the sights of China town and little Italy. I would stay here again passing through on other adventures. Staff was very nice and helpful. This is not a big fancy hotel so if you are someone who cannot over look a few impressions, you may not want to stay, but I enjoyed it.

Very nice hotel in heart of Chinatown. Close to little Italy, parks and bridges. Good price too. Clean rooms friendly service. Be prepared for rules about food and outside guests in the room. Nothing unreasonable just be aware.

My family and I had a good, comfortable stay. Everything was clean and neat. The only real issue was that my key cards were deactivated multiple times during my two day stay. The staff were happy to fix the cards at the front desk but there was no explanation for why it kept happening after one or two uses. Some of the outlets in the room were not working properly, as plugs would slip out easily. Other than that, the room was in excellent condition and gave me everything I needed. The location and price were very good.

I didn’t like the area. A bit stuffy/ smelly. There was no safety deposit box. Room was clean and we were supplied with towels every day but no one made the bed. It was the most affordable I could find for this time of year.

Hotel was gross. We had cockroaches. There were holes cut into the drywall and cockroaches were crawling out of there. Shower curtain had bloodstains on it. Smell was terrible.
