Reviews
The hotel has a great location, with many attractions and food options nearby. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. However, there were issues with room cleanliness, maintenance, and size. Some guests also experienced problems with their bookings and unexpected changes to their reservations.

Good location to walk to Times Square and other destinations of interest. Room was tiny but functional. Room was quiet. Staff helped us a few times.
- 3/5
The location The small size of room, the elevators malfunctioning, and noisier than expected.
- 5/5
Couldn’t have asked for a more central location. Times Square literally at the end of the block, 2 blocks from Central Station and Bryant Square, approx 1.5 miles from Central Park. The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned daily. We didn’t notice any street sound at all. Walls and doors a little on the thin side, we could hear people walking past the room door, this it wasn’t a problem for us, we were so exhausted at the end of the day, happy to collapse into a very clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and modern, plenty of hot water and the shower was great to wash away the city grime. Lovely Molton Brown shower gel, shampoo/conditioner and moisturiser which was nice. Plenty of electrical points and USB plugs for charging. Staff at the front desk were so helpful, and always had a smile. The cleaning staff very accomodating, again always with a cheerful greeting and a smile. We really had a great time in NYC, due to the location of the hotel, we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC the first time Nothing

Superb
- 5/5
Very nice and clean room, staff very helpful, great location near times square, parking near by.
- 4/5
Had a great stay, felt safe, would have been nice if they'd told me which drinks the free drink cards at The Long Room were good for (only the most basic beers), but not a biggie. Overall, for the location and price, it was good. Room was clean, bathroom clean, staff friendly enough
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and quiet. Rooms weren't large but had enough space for suitcases. Was a good place for a stay of several days and it's proximity to Times Square was perfect for going to theaters.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staffs and convenient location!
- 3/5
When we arrived, the hotel informed us that the room key system was not working and they could not provide us with a functioning key card. We were told that every time we needed to enter our room, we would have to wait for a manager to come and unlock the door manually. We were traveling with family and had to wait a long time after arrival before someone came to open the room. This caused significant inconvenience and stress. Accessing our room depended entirely on staff availability, which is not an acceptable standard for a hotel stay. We just got the key 4 hours before the check out (((
- 2/5
City centre, beside 2/3 train to get you around manhattan. Busy part of the city. WiFi connection is poor and also a hassle to get connected. It’s also via a site that’s not fully protected which is worrying. The staff haven’t replied to any emails or booking.com chats about a left item. This has been really unhelpful and seems like they don’t care. Not often I post reviews but this hasn’t been a great experience.

Very good
- 5/5
I can’t recommend another hotel this one was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in while visiting nyc staff we’re perfect and helpful with anything 10/10
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay! The staff were friendly & very helpful! We were celebrating my daughter’s 13th birthday! The property was very clean. The only thing I saw was the bathroom needed a remodeled some of the wall areas & bathtub & toilet were a little rusty & needed to be renovated. The air conditioner unit was nosey. But other than that we enjoyed our stay!
- 4.5/5
The location, friendly staff the room size was good The bathroom was kinda of small
- 2.5/5
Well located The air conditioner did not work and it was stifling.
- 4/5
Very clean, good location, friendly staff Lifts were busy and slow
- 4/5
Very good value by Manhattan standards. Great location near to Times Square and mid town but quiet. Very clean and recently refurbished rooms with decent bathrooms. Small but with everything you might need for a short trip. The heater/AC machines are very loud. I turned mine off at night as I don't like AC anyway but if you prefer a cool room the noise might be annoying. Even in 35-degree heat, the room never got too hot for me. The hotel doesn't do breakfast or any food but this wasn't really a problem as there are so many food options nearby.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great location and friendly and responsive staff.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel great location
- 4/5
Smaller than on the pictures,...
- 3/5
We made a note to the staff at reservation that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary. The team acknowledged the email but did nothing. Utterly ignored any efforts which was disappointing. The staff were friendly and kind especially Adrian but overall the hotel was subpar for the price and was not as described really. The only positive was the location. Would not recommended staying and would not stay again either.
- 4/5
A/C in room was very loud Room overall was nice but tiny ( I paid a lot of $$ because it was during bball finals . But overall a good experience
- 5/5
La habitación y el hotel en general está muy limpio y lindo, fueron amables y el servicio a la habitación mientras estuve hospedada fue espectacular
- 5/5
Clean, modern hotel in an excellent location. I was a bit worried about being close to Times Square as I had been warned about the noise/business but this was far enough down the street that noise wasn’t an issue at all. Nothing but I would recommend opting for a bigger room if you can afford it! The executive rooms are a perfect size, I imagine the standard rooms are a bit of a squish.
- 1/5
Staff (Luggage staff and Maintenance gentleman that was sent to our room to help with aircon) were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Location was great for a first-timer in the city, near night spots and subway. We were given a tiny room despite paying extra for an early check-in. It was impossible to open 2 luggages and navigate the room without bumping into things. Aircon was frozen over so the room was incredibly stuffy. They said that they were full house so we could not change rooms. They had to send the maintenance guy to use a hairdryer to unfreeze it. Toilet clogged on one of the days. It was an extremely unpleasant stay.
- 5/5
The room was clean, and air conditioning worked well during what were several extremely hot days. When we checked out we were able to store our luggage, which was very helpful given that we weren't leaving NY until early evening.
- 3/5
Decent hotel for the price, good location in Time Square and very nice staff. I could definitely tell that some things need updated; front door would not shut all the way without pulling/pushing and slamming it, windows left open and tough to close when we arrived, and sink constantly dripping.
- 5/5
The staff are all friendly and helpful
- 4.5/5
Good location, clean room, all good. Could be quieter - there were loud air conditioning units outside my room.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Good room! Our view kinda sucked but that’s okay there wasn’t any mini fridges but the ac kept our drinks cold. Was a great room to sleep in Thank you!
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Quaint hotel. Good location to Times Square and other key locations. Clean room, nice staff.
- 1/5
They never clean room except the bed sheet if you have your luggage’s on the floor. The front desk lady at night always not giving her best out of her and finally she brought the attitude and threaten me if I keep complaining about house keeping she’s gonna hang up the phone call which she barely answer on the other night. They never tryna dealing with issue.
- 4/5
Solid, comfy option for Times Square manhattan
- 3/5
The hotel is outdated, & the room is smaller than expected. Not much service at the reception. It’s definitely overpriced!
- 3.5/5
Basic but fine for the location. Bathrooms need an update
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Great stay at Aura Hotel Times Square! Perfect location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Highly recommended for solo female travelers
- 5/5
I think the value was great. Hotel was very clean, quiet, and well maintained. My only complaint is that there was not a mini fridge in the room. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Location. It was also really clean and tidy, and the room was a nice size.
- 4/5
Good overall stay - it’s in a prime location. If you’re looking for a 100% renovated and modern hotel, you won’t get that here but the rooms were not in bad shape at all. Some minor things like the TV cable was not user friendly or the thermostat had some cooling issues towards the end, but not a deal breaker. (If I had requested help on last few days of our thermostat, I’m sure it would’ve been resolved, but we hoped we could figure it out). The bar/restaurant next door was tasty and location is accessible outside of Times Square. I enjoyed my stay overall.
- 4/5
For NYC, it was a good place to drop the bags off and sleep at night. Staff very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
We found it right in the middle of everything we wanted to visit
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Convenient location. Hotel beds were comfortable and bathroom was very clean with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly environment
- 5/5
Great value for the central Broadway location! Close to everything, very friendly staff, and was able to accommodate an early check-in which I really appreciated.
- 5/5
A very pleasant discover in the hearty of the theatre district!
- 4/5
Good, convenient place to stay right off Times Square. My room barely had any natural light and two small windows, so it was constantly very dark but that wasn’t an issue for me. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean overall. The elevators were also a bit small and slow, but only had to wait a bit at check out time (when the elevators were very busy). Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The room was extremely clean. Staff was very friendly and harmful.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 2/5
Very noisy, thin walls. No desk or chair in the queen deluxe room. Elevators shaky.
- 5/5
Hotel was in a brilliant location. Right next to times square and Bryant park. Staff were brilliant and let us check in earlier and later due to one of our party being on crutches.
- 5/5
The stay was great - hotel was clean and staff were helpful and friendly
- 5/5
Excellent location to walking everywhere! Staff is very friendly/helpful. Location is quiet. Rooms are not large( none are!) But very clean! Many eateries, all close and delicious.
- 4/5
Great location if you want to stay in Time Square. Very accessible to all the subway lines
- 5/5
We checked in at 2:00 am with no issues. Staff were pleasant. Room was clean. Location is great.
- 5/5
Wonderful location right near Times Square and multiple theaters. Clean room, helpful staff!
- 5/5
The water pressure in the shower isn't good.
- 4/5
The Aura is a decent place to stay for a theater weekend. The room was clean but very basic. It has what you need to drop your stuff and sleep. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is very small with low water pressure. We’ve stayed a similarly priced hotels in the area that have more to them, such as a fridge and microwave.
- 5/5
Good location right next to time square and broadway and near 2 subway stations
- 1/5
Never again
- 5/5
Love the location - right in the heart of it. The rooms have modern decor and are extremely spacious for NYC. Every interaction I had with staff was so nice. They’re friendly and extremely helpful. We were greeted every time we entered the lobby. Absolutely loved this hotel, the staff, and the location.
- 4/5
On the weaker side was customer service at the front desk. They answered questions but it felt as though you were really on your own here. Not much in the way of customer service or general helpfulness. Luggage was stored upon early arrival at no charge which was very good. But no help with getting luggage to my room. Elevators were old and very small. Hallway floors and walls were a bit drab. I would stay here again due to good location and competitive room pricing. However, If you are lookin to be pampered or impress a significant other, there might be better choices out there. I was traveling solo, so it didn't matter. If I was bringing a woman with me on the next trip, I would explore other options that have better customer service, more amenities and a little more "WOW" factor. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the AURA a 7, or maybe 7.5. Thanks.
- 5/5
Staff is friendly! The room is clean !! Highly recommended
- 3/5
When I made the reservation, the picture was quite different from the room. It was tiny. The bathroom smelled of urine and the tub had rust stains. We brought this up to the front desk & told we couldn’t get another room. The only thing they could offer was a refund & we could go somewhere else. Trying to find a last minute hotel in that area with a reasonable price wasn’t going to work. They only offered a can of Lysol for the smell. We were suppose to receive a complementary beverage card at check in & didn’t receive it. Had to come back to ask for it.
- 2/5
Don't be fooled! This is not a 4-star hotel. It's barely a 3-star. The room smelled bad, as did the bathroom. The mattress sagged too much, making it difficult to sleep. The room needs maintenance. It's damp and has several other issues. They don't even provide complimentary water in the room, and there's no mini-fridge. The room also faces an interior courtyard, so it gets no sunlight and is very dark, requiring the lights to be on constantly. A mediocre room for a very, very high price. The only good thing is the location. I will never stay here again.
- 4/5
The hotel overall was a good experience. I never knew the hotel had a breakfast or where it was at. The hotel is rather small, being so close to Times Square. With that said it was quiet and I couldn’t hear the noise of Times Square which is a huge plus! Don’t expect to get a view from your room. Our view was a brick wall, lol!! Unfortunately for the last 2 days of our stay the AC gave out and the room was very warm. We ended up leaving early to cool off at the airport before our flight home.
- 1/5
HORRIBLE PLACE
- 3/5
The location is
- 5/5
Very professionally run with staff that are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size for the area and price. Location is great for Broadway shows and mid-town activities. Really a great choice if you need a home base while you have fun or business in New York.
- 5/5
Aura is a wonderful hotel full of charm and is only steps away from Broadway. The staff is extremely helpful and will even pre order and help you with an uber.
- 5/5
The staff is the best and so helpful and lovely. The hotel is boutique and cozy, however, the room is incredibly small. The tub and bathroom need to be updated. Other than that I appreciated their hospitality.
- 5/5
Everything was super clean and close to where we were going! I would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Espectacular
- 3/5
however, I did have to request the sheets to be changed by the 4th night.
- 5/5
Adrian looked after us at checkin and he was excellent. Ask for room away from stairwell door which bangs loudly. Otherwise, an excellent stay at a lovely reasonably-priced hotel in Manhattan. Great location too.
- 4/5
Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful.
- 4/5
The team at the front desk was awesome! I am a solo female traveler, and I felt incredibly safe and comfortable.
- 5/5
Excellent and great location.
- 5/5
I love it
- 1/5
I want to start this review by saying that the staff was friendly and very helpful. However- the hotel was not worth the money charged. 1- the elevators were very slow, very small, and, the entire time we were there, one was broken. 2- the set up of the bathroom shower was confusing. I had to call the front desk to figure out how to get hot water to run. I was told this is a safety feature but the mechanism is both old and flawed. 3- the temperature in our room was extremely warm. We made several attempts to adjust the thermostat but the temperature in our room stay between 76 and 78° for our entire stay.
- 5/5
Clean accommodations great service close to everything we loved our stay
- 4/5
Staff very nice. Jojo the bellman and Kathy the room attendant on floor 9.
- 5/5
Considering the property is so close to Time Square, it's location was perfect and didn't feel congested. In addition, the staff was excellent, the property is newly renovated and rooms are large by NYC standards. One drawback is some of the rooms face the light shaft in the middle of the building, but it's NYC and you don't get everything. A+ Property and Staff!
- 5/5
The staff were nice, friendly and very helpful!
- 3/5
Room was decent with a few
- 5/5
It was clean and staff very courteous and helpful.
- 5/5
The only issue I had was that the housekeeping would come into our room even if we had the do not disturb tag… which at one point was disregarded without much warning when someone opened our door and asked for trash while I was changing. It was possibly an issue with hearing or seeing the sign, but I would hope in the future it could be respected. Also, the attached restaurant and bar were 10/10.
- 5/5
Great location.Clean rooms
- 4/5
An extremely convenient location with good rooms, amenities, and very friendly staff. The elevators were malfunctioning during my stay which kind of dampened the experience. But overall, in terms of price and location, it’s hard to beat it.
- 3/5
. No ability to buy water or anything else at the hotel, if you want water you need to go to the second floor with your own bottle to refill from a water machine. Having to pay a Destination Fee for lousey internet was a rip off. Yes you get two drink coupons with it but that isn't as important as having good internet which there's isn't. Only because it was located in an area I needed to be wouls I stay there again.
- 5/5
Excellent.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
Great location! The hotel is super cute, clean, and has friendly staff. I can't wait to go back!
- 5/5
Good location, walking distance to Time Square, some Theaters, SNL. Food/bars all around. Received 2 free drink tickets for beer/wine upon arrival for the bar next door. Rooms are small, but nice stay. If I'm ever in town to see a show, I'll definitely stay here.
- 5/5
Very convenient location
- 4/5
Great location, friendly staff, including Danny on the desk who was very helpful!
- 2/5
there no parking help !!!!!!
- 4/5
Room is clean. Location is perfict, very convenient.
- 4/5
It was conveniently located and nice enough for my needs this trip.
- 5/5
Friendly Staff
- 3/5
TV very difficult to use and no instructions on operation. Staff came to room and couldn’t figure out TV. Shade operation not described and some shades did not work. Hot water cut out during shower once. Expresso machine did not work and no decaf available. I expected more paying penthouse prices. Staff tried their best, room was clean, etc.
- 5/5
Excellent lication
- 5/5
Up on the 15th floor the hot water was OK for a shower but could have been a bit hotter. It would help to have some hooks on the wall, particularly in the bathroom, there was no place to put things. But that said, I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Needs bacon
- 4/5
Aura Hotel was conveniently located within a couple of min from Times Square. Bed was comfortable but room and bathroom tiny, typical of NYC, but had everything we needed. There wasn’t much room to put 2 large luggage due to space, so it was a bit of inconvenience, but not a deal breaker. Overall it was a good stay. Located about 2-4 min walk to Bryant Park and the subway. Close to 6th Avenue, St Patrick’s Cathedral, MOMA, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, Times Square
- 2/5
The superior room was tiny, the bed was pushed up against the wall on one side, next to the radiator, and had no chair to sit at (although one wouldn't have fitted) and not enough space for two guests. The room is entirely mis-sold on this website. The executive room we were 'upgraded' to at an additional $35 per night plus taxes was the same as the images of the superior room, and a very decent size for two guests. Hotels.com refuses to acknowledge their mis-selling of the room, and refuses to reimburse me for the upgrade fee I was forced to pay.
- 5/5
Loved staying here it was right in time square and the hotel was clean!
- 4/5
Nice and clean hotel , location very good
- 2/5
The sink in my room dripped all night and keep me up. Plus there was a loud argument between a couple in the middle of the night outside my room. I had trouble with the in room phone and couldn’t reach the front desk to get them to help out. I then left first thing in the morning
- 4/5
Very nice hotel in the heart of Times Square. The staff was kind and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. I have only three small negative comments: 1. Light shone through around my door making my room semi-dark rather than dark during the night. 2. I struggled to figure out how to operate the shower. 3. I was not aware of the location of any ice machines in the building. Other than those minor things, I would highly recommend this hotel.
- 1/5
Bad all around. Hidden fees were disgusting. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
- 4/5
Good basic accommodations in a great location just steps from Times Square, theatres, and restaurants. The rooms are small but clean and quiet; the staff is attentive. Free breakfast next door at The Longroom is delicious and a real deal. The hot water is spotty in the mornings; i recommend showering at night.
- 5/5
Parking, breakfast, etc.....all staff members were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Very convenient and close to Times Square.
- 4/5
It was nice, very convenient location. Staff was great.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff. Very comfortable memory foam beds!
- 5/5
Adrian was amazing and so helpful. Carlos was also fantastic!! Hotel was located near shopping and restaurants. Great place to stay.
- 2/5
Meh. Nothing special
- 4/5
Overall, it's a nice place to stay and we enjoyed our time there. It's nothing particularly special but it served its purpose. Located in a great area, just a block from Times Square and multiple subway lines. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was in the back so while there was no view, we didnt really get much in the way of street noise so that was nice. The downsides: There is no mini fridge or a dresser in the room so be aware of that. The room also had multiple scuff marks along the wall, like a surprising amount? The shower pressure is also not very strong but still good. The hot water did go out one night but was fine the rest of the time we were there. There are also only 2 elevators and the can fit maybe 4 people max (without luggage). You may end up waiting quite awhile to be able to get into one.
- 5/5
The door people were excellent and I enjoy the staff and location. I go back for staff and the cleanliness!
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Adrian was the best lobby staff member. Super helpful
- 5/5
Great staff and wonderful location. Rooms were clean and couldn't hear much noise from the room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, excellent location, clean room
- 5/5
Staff is always so nice and friendly and the rooms were great. We have stayed here multiple times with no issues. This was the first time we stayed on a street side room. It was pretty loud and the windows didn’t keep any noise out and was hard to fall asleep. Other than that it is a great hotel. Would stay again but would ask to stay on a non street facing room.
- 3/5
The rooms were very small. The “superior” room was so small it had neither a desk nor a chair. The “closet” would hold only 5 items and the suitcase had to sit on the floor or the heating register. The window showed only windows of the same building. Don’t stay there unless you simply want to be in that area and park your luggage somewhere.
- 5/5
Outstanding experience at an amazing price point.
- 4/5
I only stayed for 1 night and can’t write anything on parking. It is a bit unusual that they have no vending machine for those who need a bottle of water late at night. But not a big deal. I was really happy to see the wood floor in the room instead of filthy carpeting most other hotels use.
- 5/5
Cheap and chearful
- 5/5
Danny and Auturo helped us out during a parade shutdown. They hooked us up with early check in and were great
- 5/5
While small it was well managed and very clean. The staff allowed us to check in early and get our day going
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Overall it was...fine. The photos make the space way larger and more updated than it actually is. Its a very old building that they've done incremental improvements to. Staff is very nice, its clean enough, but absolutely not a luxury type stay. Very close proximity to Times Square, Bryant Park, 5th Ave, etc. so if those locations are important to you, it may be a win.
- 4/5
The location was fantastic. We were steps away from multiple theaters, authentic NY style pizza, great restaurants and Times Square. The room was small, but nice and clean.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff was great.
- 5/5
N/A
- 5/5
Great location a block off of times square. Plenty of places to eat or grab a drink nearby. Bed very comfortable
- 5/5
room was very clean, great location, very attentive staff especially housekeeping and luggage handlers
- 2/5
Booked an "executive king room" and got a room with stained sheets, broken door handle to the bathroom, toilet that didn't flush and a lovely view of a light shaft filled with bird droppings and trash. Toilet got fixed after we complained. Breakfast at the neighboring Long Room was not worth the extra charge.
- 1/5
We were offered two measly drink vouchers and to be re-roomed into a room with double beds, as they stated this was the only available option left. To reiterate, we had already paid for the suite for two nights. They said they couldn’t do anything more for us and told us we were more than welcome to ask Expedia for a refund or to have Expedia rebook us at a different hotel. Mind you, we had planned our entire trip around being in Times Square, had already paid to park in an overnight garage, unloaded all our luggages, stroller, and kids. Instead of re-rooming the guests who was occupying our room knowing we would be arriving and had already prepaid, the staff decided to reroom us instead to a very tiny room with two (at best) full size beds. It was the worse hotel room we’ve ever stayed in and we were so bummed that this is how our trip started with our kids. I would recommend avoiding this place altogether.
- 4/5
There are no amenities so I don’t know why they charge an amenity fee. It’s expensive!
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Good hotel , great location.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly staff. While small and some where in “mid-life” condition, the rooms were clean and tidy.
- 5/5
nice
- 1/5
TV worked the last night there. Found hair in the sick. I’m bald! Very small. No microwave, fridge & too much light coming through the door.
- 5/5
Great place for a night out in the city. 10 Minute walk from Grand Central. Checked in at 8 PM, the clerk was super friendly and my room was ready. Got a room on the 6th floor with a double bed, small but typical for Manhattan. Clean, updated, smelled good. Bathroom was small but again typical for Manhattan, very clean, great hair dryer and shower. Would def. stay again, and well worth the price I paid.
- 5/5
Great location. I had a problem with the heat. Called the front desk and maintenance came up right away and fixed it
- 4/5
It was fine. Location is good. Room fairly big for nyc. Walls are thin
- 3/5
Well located and decent if unexceptional hotel. No breakfast, no mini fridge, limited amenities, lovely staff.
- 4/5
Hotel and room was very clean and spacious for a decent price . Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay again
- 4/5
TV didn't work. Someone promptly came and got it working. Came back in the evening and key card didn't work. Someone had to come change the battery. The room was very nice and clean. Check in and check out were very easy. We did have a hard time finding the hotel - first time in NYC.
- 3/5
The heat in our room kept rising no matter how low we put the thermostat.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel! Staff were very helpful and pleasant, and room was clean and very comfortable. It’s in a great location near all the theaters and restaurants in Times Square. Definitely stay here!!
- 5/5
Nice staff, small and cute hotel.
- 4/5
But my biggest gripe is that the thermostat is not actually connected to the heat/ac at all. I set it to "cold" mode and 70º which is the lowest it goes. Woke up super hot with the heat pumping out. You can tell it's not connected because I just ended up setting the thermostat to off, and adjusting the temp/mode on the heating element which is caged in in the room, and was accessible with a pencil. But that made the room temp much more bearable. Once that was fixed, I liked the place and people working there. The elevators are quite small, but that might be a NYC thing. All in all I'd definitely recommend it, particularly if you aren't very worried about the temp.
- 4/5
Clean room, great with early check in, late check out and bag storage. Great location. Quiet,
- 5/5
Clean room, comfortable beds, close to Bryant Park and Times Square subway stations.
- 5/5
Great location! NYC was very walkable from here!
- 5/5
The location is fantastic! Staff were very kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Perfect location, crystal clean, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Though rooms are on the smaller side, the floor plan is laid out well. Great location.
- 5/5
Very clean. Amazing location.
- 4/5
The hotel is clean, modern, and a bit no frills. I checked in late (like 9 pm). It was so easy but there was only one floor where I could get water and ice--no bottles in the room. Otherwise, the room was a good size and super clean. If I were going to a Broadway show, I would definitely return. Also staff was friendly on the way in and out.
- 3/5
Just ok
- 5/5
The hotel was nice & clean with friendly & accommodating staff.
- 4/5
Small clean room
- 5/5
It was nice. Thank you!
- 5/5
Very quiet and comfortable stay. Very clean! Great location
- 3/5
For its location, it’s a convenient place to stay and the rooms were spacious. But some things to note when staying here is that the hotel rooms don’t have mini fridges. It’s not a deal breaker but when I some food, I had no where to put it. There’s also no bathroom in the lobby area as well. Also note that when you drop off your bag, they have a more strict time policy. However the hotel, when you first walk in has the most amazing smell. I would totally buy the hotel line for these products (body wash, candle, shampoo, etc). Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Though I will say I was confused when trying to adjust the temperature in the room. Overall, it was a nice experience
- 4/5
👍
- 4/5
The front desk staff was very courteous. the room and bathroom were very clean. I didn’t give 5 stars because. Con-Ed was jackhammering the road in front of the hotel. Our room was on the 6th floor and we heard all the noise. Also the floor in bathroom became wet unsure if the water was result of the con-ed issues or something else.
- 5/5
Everyone was very pleasant and attentive. The room was clean, quiet and a good size. We arrived early and Adrien told us that he had a room available so we could check in early. We were given tickets for a free drink at the bar next door. Nice stay
- 4/5
The room was very clean, but was FREEZING cold when we arrived. The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating. The location is amazing - was a 10-15 m walk to most popular destinations, and close to the theatres. On a less positive note, the showers took over 10 minutes of run time to receive hot water, and the conditioner bottle was full of a dilute, soapy liquid. Otherwise, we loved our stay, and given it's location would consider staying again!
- 3/5
Clean and convenient but lacking in amenities. Shower was weak. No complimentary water in room for coffee maker. Free drink coupons they provided at check-in for the bar next door did NOT cover any alcoholic beverages.
- 5/5
Clean room, modern hotel, walking distance to time square and close and easy access to subway stations.
- 4/5
Room was clean and the luggage storage person was extremely friendly! The rooms have seen better days especially the bathroom lots of paint chipping and the shower head seemed to be naan
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The lobby and room was very clean. Room was very spacious. We did not eat at the restaurant associated with the hotel located next door. We did stop in for our free beverage. Just beer and house wine Location was perfect and many parking garages :)
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent. Hotel was very convenient to see Broadway shows and subway transit. Room was very clean and a good size. Bed was excellent. Shower water pressure was very good. Hotel staff was great. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
The room was clean, and the staff was courteous
- 5/5
Great room. Great location
- 5/5
The room was clean and efficient, perfect for our needs. Very quiet at night which was appreciated. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful, went the extra mile each time I had a request.
- 4/5
very clean and good location
- 5/5
it was awesome! the staff were friendly, made you feel welcome and the hotel itself was nice and clean. also, loading is an ease w parking next door! I high recommend.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was responsive, location is great.
- 5/5
Great staff, great location, amazing room !!
- 5/5
got in early before check-in. Hotel staff was super friendly and resourceful :). Was a perfect 1 night stay
- 5/5
I LOVE the Aura Hotel!! From the hospitable staff like Carlos & Jojo to the spacious room, to the unbelievable location, I will def be back!! Came here for NYFW and it was the perfect stay!
- 5/5
When it comes to hotels, my main concern is cleanliness, and Aura was wonderful. The stay was fantastic. I loved how close everything was to the hotel and we could walk wherever. I will definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
But there was a rude staff member at the front desk during check out.
- 3/5
Room was clean but TV was damaged notified front desk and was asked how long was our stay and if we watched TV. They will notify tye manager. Outside noise was loud and bed was way too soft. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Lobby was spotless. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming
- 5/5
Courteous staff. Bedroom was very clean. Bed was very comfortable and soft. Very quick walk to Times Square.
- 5/5
Hotel was in a great location, literally minutes walk to Times Square and about 5 minutes to Bryant Park, with lots of subway options. Staff were friendly, particularly the guy who dealt with storing our luggage at check-in and check-out. The room was really modern and clean. Read some reviews about noisy aircon/heating and poor water pressure in the shower but we didn’t have issues with either (think people might be being princesses). There was a little street noise but it was much quieter than we thought considering the central location, and we were so tired from all the walking around that it never affected our sleep. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable (I even checked the mattress to see if we could buy back in the UK) and the TV was massive if you wanted a lazy morning watching something. Would definitely stay here again, we thought it was amazing value for money.
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 3/5
Room is too tiny for the price, however it was decently clean and renovated nice.
- 5/5
Perfect location staff most helpful for solo traveler. Great location and rooms lovely.
- 5/5
Very clean, beautiful and smelled good. Staff were very friendly and the location couldnt be better!
- 3/5
Wouldn’t hold my bags past 6pm. Never had that problem before, otherwise everything was pretty good but that was disappointing.
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. Special call out to Adrian at the front desk who was great. He got us in our room early and gave us two free drink tickets to the restaurant next door.
- 3/5
The room was nice, the staff was great, and check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. However, the room was really cold, and they had to send a “maintenance” guy to our room to put the heat up. It was weird. Also, there were no streaming channels on the TV, which I thought was pretty lame for this day and age and for the price of the room. Otherwise, it was fine.
- 5/5
Very big room for it being in Timesquare also super clean rooms. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend
- 4/5
Staff and the daily room cleaning
- 4/5
Great customer service. The only thing was the shower didn’t have a sliding door so half of the shower was exposed. The bathroom heater did not work. I traveled in the winter so it was pretty freezing in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, very nice. The staff was especially courteous & helpful-from the front desk to the gentleman who stored our luggage. Will definitely stay here again next time we go to a show!
- 5/5
Spotless rooms, nespresso machine at the ready, amazing staff, excellent location.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly, and in the heart of Times Square.
- 4/5
room was clean , staff was very helpful great location
- 5/5
Excellent location. Room was clean and quiet.
- 4/5
The beds are not Queen the are full .. otherwise the room was clean and nice staff .
- 5/5
Besides a great location, the bed was very comfortable, the room very clean & the staff were amazing!
- 5/5
Great staff. Great location to theaters and Times Square. Large TV.
- 5/5
Yes everything was fine.
- 5/5
Room was small but very clean.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Staff was amazing!!!!! Hotel location was perfect and the room was wonderful! We will be returning!
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff were great, friendly accommodating. A hotel is a great location between Grand Central and Times Square.
- 4/5
Clean and well sized room, courteous staff, and great location!
- 5/5
Nice room. Great location.
- 5/5
Customer service excellent
- 5/5
It was a really good stay
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Efficient and reasonable
- 5/5
Clean room and facility overall! Was able to request early check in, and was approved upon arrival! Great visit to NYC, would stay again! Perfect location to time square.
- 5/5
This hotel was excellent in all ways- clean room, inviting staff, convienent, etc.
- 5/5
Nice place and nice location. Enjoyed our stay and the staff was wonderful
- 5/5
Everything was perfect! I recommend get the breakfast!
- 5/5
Great location just a block off Times Square. For being so close to everything the hotel was quiet. Every staff member we encountered was very kind, helpful and pleasant easily one of our top pics whenever we go to the city.
- 3/5
The toilet needs attention with the constant water on and off. Overall the room was clean and partly functionable.
- 5/5
Highly recommend. Perfect location, clean, spacious rooms! Will definitely be back again. The only thing was the shower wasn't "hot", but apparently thats a NYC thing lol
- 5/5
Wonderful stay
- 5/5
Clean place .
- 5/5
Overall, excellent stay.
- 1/5
it gives the feel of a motel, also parking with them is $75 not $55
- 4/5
Room spotless, and staff awesome.
- 5/5
Great. Clean. Staff
- 5/5
Very clean. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
One thing that would improve the room would be hooks in the room or bath. There’s none to hang a jacket or towel etc. I would return there again. The staff were great!
- 5/5
Customer service was outstanding! The hotel was centrally located and cozy!
- 1/5
Gave me a room right next to elevator, you can’t even close your eyes and have some rest, they agreed to change it next day, the other room had the most annoying noise from the heater and the ceiling. The whole hotel needs maintenance. Location was good. But will never come back to this hotel.
- 2/5
Room was small and cramped, not as pictured on expedia. It was on the second floor over the street and extremely noisy, street noise all night long, trash trucks and pounding starting at 4 a.m. Lack of hot water in shower. Uncomfortable bed with a thin sheet over the mattress. You can hear people talking in the adjacent rooms.
- 3/5
The hotel was adequate for our one night’s stay. When we arrived, I had to clean the toilet as it wasn’t cleaned well. That set the tone for my daughter and she wouldn’t touch anything after that. The room was a bit bigger than most in the city though and a super good location.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
room was clean, service was accomadating breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful and garage convenient.
- 5/5
The room was immaculately clean! The front desk staff and the baggage room attendant were all friendly and helpful. On top of this the location can’t be beat! I am so happy to have found Aura
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Clean room, quiet location on a high floor, convenient to all the theaters.
- 5/5
Great clean hotel that was quiet but in the middle of everything. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was well maintained. Would highly recommend staying here.
- 5/5
My friend and I stayed here for the ball drop and had a wonderful experience. 10/10 location for every day except NYE. Would not recommend trying to come and go to your hotel on that day because of all the road closures and having to prove you're staying there. Still extremely convenient for the ball drop, but once you leave that day, don't plan to come back! Staff was wonderful, kind, and helpful. Room was very nice. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
Everyone was very helpful and nice. The room was what we expected and would book here again. We have stayed here in the past. We love the location and the neighboring restaurants.
- 3/5
The windows need replacing as there was such a cold drought through them that the curtains were moving and I could place my perishable items behind the curtains to keep them cold! There’s no fridge or microwave available anywhere in the hotel
- 4/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
The room was very clean, spacious, and the perfect location. The employees are also very helpful.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay at Aura. The room and hotel was clean and workers were nice. Our towels were restocked every day, as was our rooms cleaned and our things organized. The room is not too small for a boutique hotel (we got a deluxe queen), but the lobby is quite small and doesn't have drinks/snacks to purchase like most hotels. The only downside in the room was the shower was small if you're larger (my husband is 6'3" tall and had a hard time) and it also ran between freezing cold and blazing hot - there was hardly an in between making it frustrating to take a shower. The beds were comfy and we could turn the fan on the air conditioner to drown out the city noise and get some good sleep. The location was fantastic—10/10. It was right next to Times Square (could see it from lobby exit) and just a few blocks away from Rockefeller Center and the Radio City Music Hall. Overall, we would stay here again despite the shower issues.
- 5/5
Spotless lovely room and so quiet for NYC. Lovely stay. Loved it!
- 2/5
Small room and Wi-Fi was out making it impossible to work from my room.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
El personal es excelente y servicial. Se encuentra en un área muy bien ubicada. Losxteléfonos de los cuartos no estan conectados pero es porque aparentemente se encuentran remodelando.
- 5/5
Amazing location and service.
- 5/5
Spotless room. Friendly staff. Very nice experience
- 5/5
yes the room was clean, the staff was nice.
- 2/5
Also, several staff gave me different information regarding parking access for the New Year’s Eve holiday, which caused me to incur further expenses. There were no vending machines or snack bars. Not even a bottle of water in the room. I had to go out in the middle of the night and walk to buy a snack and water. Previously I was transferred to speak with the manager, KeShawn before I arrived regarding the room and his voicemail was full!
- 5/5
This property is in the perfect spot to be central and walkable to everything. Subways are close, and there are plenty of restaurant options nearby. The staff was amazing...friendly and helpful, and the room was so clean and the perfect size. We loved our stay and can't say enough great things. Will definitely stay again when in the city!
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly! Rooms are small but to be expected in NYC. Location was perfect!
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet which was well in the heart of Times Square. Look forward to getting back to our cozy room. Front Desk was friendly and stored our luggage all day.
- 5/5
Clean room with very helpful and friendly staff and walking distance to popular areas/sights
- 2/5
Location was amazing but amenities were bare. Didn’t even have Netflix on the TV, poorly completed renovations (painting was rough & roof had stains) and bathrooms were outdated compared to the rest of the hotel. The bed was amazing. Staff were so beyond lovely especially at the front desk. The the view was of a dirty air con unit despite paying for an upgraded room. Very overpriced for the room.
- 5/5
It was roomy and in a perfect location!
- 1/5
Front desk hung the phone on us when we called and asked if they have plastic spoons. Other than this experience, the room was never properly cleaned. After our first night, the room wasn’t cleaned properly so we didn’t have clean towels. We had enough towels to get us by for the night and expected to have the room cleaned and sorted the next day. After having been out of the room the entire day and returning at 11pm, we returned to a room that wasn’t entered by housekeeping. We had no clean towels from the second time and the room wasn’t made. We called the front desk asking why this happened they said it could either be because we had After informing front desk
- 5/5
Great location. Half a block from time square. Kept our luggage as we had a late flight. Room was clean. Room is small. Elevators are small.
- 5/5
Very clean and very nice staff.
- 1/5
I didn’t have hot water, so I had to change hotels after 1 night. Looking at other reviews for this hotel, this is a common issue. The people working at the hotel are very nice and the room was clean, so it’s unfortunate that they are having a hot water issue that hasn’t been addressed.
- 3/5
The hotel was fine but I had an issue with my bill. I prepaided for parking. I booked 2 nights but my confirmation said 4 nights. The person at the desk said I was only being chearged for 2 nights. But when I got my final receipt I was charged for 4 nights. I emailed the hotel but I never heard back.
- 5/5
I stayed in the penthouse suite it great the water wasn’t hot it was warm that’s only thing I didn’t like about my room
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
The only slight negative was the fact that there is a window a/c unit that allows cold air seepage in the very cold weather we experienced during our stay. Overall, the room accommodated three comfortably and we had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Awesome room. Spacious and great location.
- 4/5
Good place for the price
- 5/5
We’d stay there again.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. Every person you encounter smiles big and greets you. And you are steps from the center of Times Square. Everything was wonderful except this one thing. You hear everything from outside. Every siren, rickshaw and car coming by, heels clicking on the ground, doors opening. I’m not exaggerating. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs or a sound machine.
- 5/5
Extremely kind staff! Elevators were quick, silent room despite proximity to times square. Numerous restaurants right out front and bars for nightlife. Legitimately steps from times square, and I cannot emphasize how kind the staff were. Nothing but extremely kind interactions and greetings. Would absolutely stay again
- 2/5
Bedding was very thin and thermostat set very cold for winter. Had 3 peole in a suite but no spare bedding for the pull out sofa. Had to ask for bedding and make out own bed.Furnishings were outdated. The staff was very nice. Location is great.
- 5/5
Spacious, clean room. Friendly efficient staff. Wonderful place.
- 5/5
This hotel is near places that serve breakfast but it does not have a restaurant. Air conditioner is a heat pump with a schedule set and the code is not posted in the room so you may have to call to get help with the thermostat. You can request an extra blanket but they are not in the room. Staff very friendly.
- 5/5
Room was very clean staff was nice only down fall no fridge or microwave in the room but everything else was good
- 4/5
Great location. Room very small. No dresser for clothes. Elevators really small. Won’t fit 2 people and luggage. Staff was great. 2 of our shows across the street. Again room was very very small. Also no fridge for food or drink
- 4/5
No breakfast
- 4/5
The rooms were very basic on the smaller size, but certainly average for New York. The shower worked. The bed was comfortable. The TV was hard to work and there was a major draft coming from the windows, but for what we paid it was good. It was right across from the theater for us smack in the middle of the theater district.
- 4/5
Clean room. Small but well priced around Christmas.
- 5/5
The Aura is perfect. It's in an excellent location near to theaters, Broadway, and Bryant Park. The room was modern and spotless. I had ordered a special request for my room and it was waiting for me upon my arrival. I had an issue with the heat in my room but staff member, Jojo, took care of the matter and it was handled immediately. I highly recommend the Aura.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Not really 4star but nice for a stay in Times Square
- 5/5
Great midtown location to Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and many stores and restaurants.
- 5/5
Really nice room!
- 4/5
Great place for Times Sq
- 2/5
Had a double room reserved. Called and confirmed twice before arrival. Upon arrival, oh we don’t have a double room. Wanted to give me two rooms, not even next to each other. No thanks. Ended up with a double looking at a roof ac unit. Online says new hotel. Maybe a new name. The hotel is old af and tiny elevators and rooms. Only thing good was the location.
- 5/5
EXCELLENT STAY!
- 5/5
With that being said, after alot of research I chose AURA. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THIS DECISION... THE HOTEL WAS BEYOND GREAT. The eaase at checkin, the location exactly where i want to be. The staff, the room, without a doubt one of the cleanest hotels i have ever stayed in. Slept like a baby too. I learned along time ago, I always travel with thank you cards and leave the housekeeping staff a generous tip every single day. I received Thank You Notes back from the staff thanking me for choosing the Aura.. That indeed says it all and i cannot wait to be back. I will stay at the Aura from here on. THANK YOU AURA.....I'LL BE BACK!!!
- 4/5
Good location. Near Times Square, Rockefeller centre, and other main attractions. Rooms were nice and spacious. Can be noisy at night if room is facing the street.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The outside noise was very loud at night but I think that is to be expected for the location.
- 5/5
The room was just big enough and clean. Perfect walk from time square and broadway. The staff were so nice and accommodating
- 4/5
Friendly and attentive staff. Room was clean and spacious. Very small elevators. Near all mid-town sites! Only complaint was plumbing. Shower was difficult to adjust and get correct temperature. Toilet got plugged easily. Coffee in room was good. 👍
- 5/5
Room was spotless
- 5/5
Definitely would return
- 3/5
The staff was very nice. The room was very small. That was OK but there was no place to put suitcases except the floor. No drawers to unpack clothes on a five night stay. Dangerous as it was easy to trip over suitcases in the middle of the night. Had to move rooms because of water coming thru light fixture in shower.
- 1/5
MOST of the time there was only one elevator that could be used. This caused a hardship for everyone staying there. Then there was the room. The heat didn’t work. Yeah kinda cold thanksgiving weekend when you can’t turn the heat up. It’s an old hotel that has been remodeled. You can’t put lipstick on a pig and charge $300 a night. The location is great but you pay the price
- 5/5
Clean, modern, friendly staff, great location.
- 5/5
Great overall experience! Clean room, quality amenities, and friendly staff! The location is perfect too- easy walking to many of the attractions NYC has to offer!
- 4/5
Nice room. Very clean. Friendly staff.
- 3/5
Reception staff not friendly nor welcoming. If you asked for anything it was as though you’d put them out. Luggage guys and cleaners are lovely and friendly. Room its self is clean and big for New York but it is a no frills stay.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are spacious and impeccably clean, and the service provided by the staff was exceptionally friendly.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable, and it is a good size for NYC (Executive King). The location is amazing - just 1/2 a block from Time Square and close to all the Broadway theaters, Bryant Park, and lots of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was also very quiet. Parking is extremely easy. There are two parking garages very close by -- we chose the Meyers which has an exit on both 44th and 43rd. We've stayed here twice and will definitely stay again.
- 3/5
Small room, noisy, very expensive but clean and its around time square
- 5/5
Staff was so helpful and very oleasanr
- 5/5
Clean comfortable rooms. Staff were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Great location to walk to everything!
- 5/5
Excellent location close to Times Square and Rockefeller, Carlos gave us awesome service helping with our bags, room was nice - great bed, everything clean and pretty quiet. Water pressure was a bit low and had very small elevators but we never waited for long. Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
The staff was very pleasant and professional. The room was on a light well so dark. There was a portable window air conditioner in the window and it was 20 degrees outside. It seemed to be the only one left in. To keep the room at 72 the heater ran 45 minutes then cold air blew in fo 10 the the heat again. Long night. Used the black out curtains and towels to try and block air. Unfortunately it was 10 pm when we realized
- 4/5
Staff. Carlos was terric
- 3/5
Staff were friendly. Room was nice and clean. Staff were responsive to request for blankets. Heat wasn’t working correctly. No amenities for the price. Should have bottled water. Robes/slippers. No refrigerator. Elevators were very small and slow. Bedding was not plush bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff very helpful!
- 5/5
The location was excellent and the staff was above and beyond kind. We had a fantastic stay.
- 5/5
The location is excellent and lovely and clean.
- 5/5
Perfect for the parade!! Staff was amazing, room was spacious and comfy. Highly recommend!!
- 3/5
Noise cancellation
- 5/5
Location was super convenient to Time Square. Hotel was nicely appointed and room was not as small as expected. Parking garage was right next door ($50 per day)
- 4/5
All good
- 1/5
Blower didn’t shut off, impossible to sleep and heat didn’t warm up the room. The room is impossibly small, it’s actually a closet. The elevator is on its last legs and one is left with concern will they make it up or down. Finally the price proposition is crazy, this hotel is so over priced for the room and lack of amenities I must respond to my fellow travelers- look elsewhere
- 5/5
The hoteln is older but clean and quiet. Convenient for Broadway shows. Has a coffee maker in the room but no luggage racks.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Great check-in.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a quick walk to Times Square! The rooms are small but you don’t come to NYC to stay in your room all day. It was perfectly comfortable for me and my partner to spend the limited amount of time there that we did. The one thing that absolutely sucked was the water pressure - I couldn’t wash my hair to save my life lol
- 5/5
I like this place a lot. Right in the heart of the Broadway theater district and near Whole Foods, The Red Flame Diner and Bryant Park. The rooms are small but cozy. The beds are comfortable.
- 5/5
A nice place to get some rest. I really enjoyed the hot shower. Not much for views out the windows.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. Location was great!
- 5/5
Carlos was amazing and knowledgeable. Check in was quick and easy. Check out was even easier. We were 3 families of 10 people traveling together.
- 2/5
Long story short. Hire people who actually like costumer service. Train them. The excuse that all New Yorkers are rude is not true. There was construction noise at night and like hammering and drilling which was annoying when you are trying to sleep. There was also noise that sounded like a leak coming from the ceiling into the entry door but no stains or anything. I which i can post the videos. Decided to change hotels for better night sleep and service.
- 4/5
Adrian at the front desk was great - very accommodating. The location can’t be beat.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and friendly. Elevators slow and small. Great option for the location and price.
- 2/5
Was catfished by the pictures of the room online. Room was tiny.
- 1/5
We checked in on a Monday. Saturday night, after many days of not being able to shower properly, we were finally offered a room change, but there were no rooms available. We were told that if a room opened up, they would let us know. Then, the next morning, despite having the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door and without any previous notice that a room was available, someone came and woke us up, saying that if we wanted to move rooms, we had to do it right then. We were asleep, not dressed, and hadn’t packed, so of course, we had to decline. We sent our written complain to the both the hotel and the company that owns it, but they didn't respond.
- 5/5
Great staff and location!
- 1/5
Checked in slightly before the stated check-in time just to drop bags before a meeting and was given a key to a room that was already occupied. Had to drag all luggage back down to the front desk and get a new key, then rush out, with no time to confirm it worked. Later that night, after a long day and a late return, discovered the new key did not work either and had to stand knocking repeatedly just to get someone to let me into the room. Once inside, the heat was not working on a cold night, and I ended up sleeping in a winter coat under the covers before a very early departure. For a quick business stay on a tight schedule, this combination of privacy issues, access problems, and lack of basic comfort was completely unacceptable.
- 5/5
The heater kept the room comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean room. Pretty spacious (for New York). Great location.
- 5/5
Spotless room, great service and they held the luggage and had a set airport service rate love it
- 5/5
We had a great stay! We booked the one bedroom suite and it worked out great for our young family of 4. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was small but modern and clean. We would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Check in staff were lovely accommodating helpful and kind
- 3/5
Lots of squeaking, chirpy type noises all night long but could not tell where they kept coming from. Water would not stay warm in shower, towels super rough.
- 3/5
The room was fine- small. We were supposed to have a king bed but it was two twins- which was ok just for the night. Great location.

good area to be in

It was just what we needed, walkable, clean, safe, the staff is very nice and close to everything.
- 5/5
Very large, clean room. Staff was wonderful!
- 5/5
Clean, good basic amenities, friendly staff and awesome location
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, easy and quick check in
- 5/5
Large room. Next to times square
- 5/5
We arrived earlier than the check in time but our room was ready and they checked us in for no additional fee. The room was clean and was very quiet for NYC. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. This place is on our list to return to another time.
- 5/5
Clean well planned small room.
- 5/5
Great location, minutes from Broadway. The staff were nice and helpful. We were able to check a little early. The elevators are really small so keep that in mind. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I loved having an espresso pod machine in the room. I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Quick and easy
- 5/5
The rooms were very small but were newly renovated and very clean. The staff was great!
- 5/5
The staff was super nice. Great affordable little hotel. 10/10

Location and nearby food options are great
- 5/5
The entire stay was wonderful! Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location.
- 4/5
Very clean room. Great staff
- 3/5
Rooms need updates
- 5/5
When I checked out, the 2 gentleman were amazing! Thanks for your help :)
- 4/5
This place was really good and definitely a great find! Staff location and cleanliness were top tier. Our only complaint was the shower was extremely small. While showering we were unable to move the shower head and it rained down on you as you try to shampoo and wash. The small gap at the bottom of the shower door would also allow a lot of water to spill onto the floor. We were in room 212
- 5/5
This hotel has it all, close to all of the action, but quiet and comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything was great! Thanks!
- 5/5
Always an excellent stay.
- 5/5
This was such a great stay. Perfect location and nice rooms. We really enjoyed it.
- 2/5
What breakfast? Upon check in no one explained any amenities
- 4/5
Well, we've stay at the Aura Hotel before, just last year. It's hard to believe that for about $100 more per night, the room was actually smaller. The water pressure was low and very inconsistent, not as I remember. The staff is very nice and it is overall vey clean.
- 5/5
Amazing staff !
- 4/5
My husband asked if we could move, but the two people at the front desk said it wasn’t possible that night and to try again in the morning. The first night was extremely noisy — even with earplugs, we could hear the street traffic and the air conditioning was quite loud. The next morning, we asked again and were told nothing was available that day, but we could move the following day. Thankfully, the new room was much better — larger, quieter, and with super comfy beds. It didn’t have a view, but after three nights of uninterrupted sleep (and no 3 a.m. bin men!), we were very happy with it. A big thank you to the concierge team who were fantastic and helped us with our luggage during the move. In hindsight, I wouldn’t bother emailing ahead — it didn’t seem to make a difference. Overall, once we were in the upgraded room, our stay improved a lot, but the first couple of nights were disappointing.

We rented the penthouse number two and so much stuff in there was broker didn’t work. It was unreal.
- 4/5
Great stay, staff was very friendly!
- 3/5
Location was good. Hotel not kept in good condition. There was a water stain on the ceiling. The room needed a wall paint refreshment. The shower leaked, had poor pressure and fluctuated between hot and cold. There was no clock in the room.
- 4/5
Great staff, great location. Clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Clean room and comfortable bed. Staff was excellent and perfect Times Square location. Elevators are not great, room was small and shower didn’t get hot sometimes. Overall would stay here again.

A hidden gem in Manhattan.
- 3/5
Expensive for a fair hotel.
- 3/5
Bedding, towels, staff all very wonderful. Condition of the building, not so great. Problems with water pressure, lights not working, elevator felt like a death trap. Windows are screwed shut... Scary if there were to be a fire. They put lipstick on a pig and called it a darling. But it's NYC... I guess that's what you get for visiting a over marketed place. Let me just say that the staff was really the highlight of this hotel. Very nice people.
- 4/5
The room was very clean. Water pressure will very bad. The bed was comfortable. The room felt tight but that was ok. Parking was close. Staff was nice.
- 4/5
Wonderful time
- 1/5
Otherwise, the room was clean and ok, but this is not a four star hotel as it was marketed.

Room was great, the bed was extremely comfortable.

- 2/5
No hot water
- 3/5
We wanted easy walking to the attractions & that’s what we got 😊
- 4/5
Very convient to Times Square and Broadway. Room is perfect for essentials of sleep and shower. Staff was very nice and helpful. Only downside is the noise at night with the pedicabs until 12-1am.
- 5/5
Amazing... would stay again!
- 3/5
It was fine, a little bit noisy, the air conditioning eas pretty loud
- 4/5
Small closet, few hangers. Hot water ran out quickly while bathing. Great location. Room neat, well maintained.
- 4/5
Room was very small. I could hear the people in the room next to mine. Staff was very helpful. Location is perfect.
- 5/5
Would stay there again.

Great Midtown Hotel. Rented the PH suite. Perfect for families.
- 4/5
The place was clean and easy to get around
- 5/5
Really great staff. 10/10

Very good location, with 24hr access. The room was clean and comfortable and welcomed the coffee machine in the room.

- 5/5
Very comfortable bed, friendly staff, clean and quiet. Delicious restaurants on the same block.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect for easily getting to Broadway shows, restaurants and Times Square. It was basically across the street from the Hudson Theatre, where we were seeing Waiting for Godot. So convenient.
- 4/5
This location is walkable to shops, food, Times Square, subway stations and broadway shows. It is literally down the block from time square. We loved the location and the staff, especially the bell service team. They were very personable and kind. The gym has a water station that has filtered water. The only issue is the shower, you can’t make it any hotter and sometimes it will run cold. The elevators are also quite small but doable. Otherwise, great hotel option when wanting to stay closer to Times Square.
- 5/5
Other than the coffee Aura is a great choice in the Times Square area. I would stay here again.
- 1/5
Room smells like mold and dirty, NO water pressure, receptionists are rude, never welcome you when you come in except for the sweet luggage guy and the cleaning lady
- 4/5
it was good
- 5/5
Love to stay in this hotel, came back many times
- 5/5
Great and helpful staff!!!
- 5/5
Staff friendly, convenient to Times Square and Subway, I would staff there again.
- 3/5
I was in 4 rooms before I could unpack. Room 1 on 5th floor-beds were messed up, like someone had napped on them; Room 2 on 2nd floor-water in sink didn't work; Room 3 (actually same room as #1) back to 5th floor-phone was not connected and there was no phone cord. Room 4 on 14th floor. Room was fine. Had early checkin and didn't get settled in a room until almost 4. The front desk was great, but clearly the services leave something to be desired. Did not have 2nd luggage racks when they were needed. Also got no break on the cost, even though it was really inconvenient trying to check in and find a room that was actually ready to check into. Never had any experience like this with any hotel anywhere. The location is great though and Gatsby's Landing, the restaurant next door is wonderful.
- 4/5
The location is great, but the service is poor. They don’t even follow door signs when you ask them to. Don’t expect soundproof rooms, it’s Time Square. If you find a great deal, go for it. Otherwise, find another place..
- 4/5
Good bedding and bathing. Location is a winner. Worked ideal for us to get by foot to MSG for Dimash concert.
- 4/5
Well located. Room large and clean.
- 5/5
Fantastic location. Clean, comfortable. Good value for money. Safe area, handy for attractions - walkable. Helpful receptionists, easy smooth check in and check out.
- 3/5
Nice hotel, but noisy from the sounds of Times Square.
- 4/5
The Aura is a nice hotel without the bells and whistles. Parking in next door at a CityPark. Prices were ok considering I have paid over 200 for a weekend stay before.
- 5/5
LOVED AURA HOTEL
- 4/5
Good spot, very convenient to everything.
- 5/5
The toilet was stopped up and within 5 mins the maintenance guy showed up. We never ran out of towels. Very great experience. I will definitely look to stay again, upon my return to New York.
- 5/5
Very nice place good hotel
- 5/5
Right by Time Square and restaurants.
- 5/5
Clean room, wonderful staff!! Close by Times Square and it is walkable to any store.
- 3/5
Small rooms .weak internet and noise of Ac in room is too bad
- 5/5
Very helpful Very friendly Definitely recommend this one to everyone
- 4/5
Perfect location for Broadway theaters and Time Square
- 5/5
We stayed here as it was close to the theater where we saw a show on broadway.
- 3/5
The staff was arogant. There is no services provided that hotels globally offer. The hotel was like it was in Benin rather than downtown Manhattan. It is just a waste of space.
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
The bed was so comfortable, and you honestly wouldn’t know you were literally around the corner from Times Square. It was so quiet and comfortable. Highly recommend.
- 1/5
Rooms look better than in reality. The hotel seems to have focussed their refurbishment on the reception area than the rooms. No hot water on the first night, low water pressure throughout the stay. Room smells of smoke and the noisiest air conditioning unit. Top it off the Managers were unresponsive and incompetent. General Manager and other staff were fine and helpful.
- 2/5
Bathroom door handle broken...never fixed. Only one bar of small soap for 3 days for 3 people. Pull out soffa not made up... Garbage can liner not put in...up to customer... Called front desk from room phone and through outside number no less than 10 times with no answer on Sept 23 2025... Hotel very conveninntly located.

I thought the rooms were difficult to cool. Humidity was very high.
- 3/5
Nice rooms, extremely rude staff. Good location

- 4/5
It is nice for a quick stay, clean, friendly staff, etc. gym is clean also. My only negative is the lobby reeks of overwhelming smell of cologne/perfume.
- 5/5
Well placed for theater-goers or anyone else just visiting Midtown.

The staff was absolutely amazing: they’re all very polite, helpful, friendly, efficient and problem-solving oriented; we’ve appreciated it a lot. The only issue to us was the water pressure in the shower and the water temperature wasn’t hot enough. We’ve been offered another room with pressure being a little better but not great overall to be completely honest, though the water was then hot enough. We also wish the cleaning was more thorough, for the floor and surfaces to be cleaned better in particular. Overall a pleasant stay, a happy holiday at Aura.

Great midtown location with quick access to subway and walk to nearby attractions. Though Times Square is always busy with pedestrians and traffic. Because of street closures due to a parade, we couldn’t park on 44th. adjacent to the hotel. Not happy to have to park on 47th for much more $$$ than in the garages next to the hotel.
- 5/5
Great customer service from the complete staff
- 5/5
I loved this hotel. Great location and quiet despite the location. Clean, comfortable bed and pillows, and loved the molton brown products. Friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
The room was neat and clean. However, the room is excruciatingly small. There is only a small closet area to hang clothes. There wasn’t a dresser. Living out of a suitcase would be fine, except there isn’t a place to open the luggage except for the bed or on the floor in front of the door. The bathroom door didn’t shut. In the middle of the night the sound of a helicopter landing on the roof woke me up. I got up to see and realized it was the air conditioner. Would not stay again.

- 5/5
Great location. Very nice, clean hotel. Room was a good size, especially for Manhattan.
- 5/5
It was very clean and the staff was very professional at all times.
- 4/5
This was my second stay at the Aura. The location is prime. The only fault was that we could hear the band in the bar next door until midnight one night. Fortunately, we didn’t return to our room until about 11:45, so we didn’t have to deal with it for long.
- 4/5
Rooms are too small, no chair, no refrigrator, no fresh air (windows not opened) and small TV
- 1/5
Unfortunately, the positives stop there. At check-in, I was blindsided with hidden fees that were never disclosed in my booking paperwork or upfront through the travel site I used. My invoice stated one amount was due, but the hotel demanded a $150 deposit on the spot. When I asked about it, the woman at the front desk snapped that “every damn hotel has this policy and it is what it is.” Granted, I understand deposits are common, but the way it was handled—without prior communication, in a rude and confrontational manner—was completely unprofessional and left me feeling uncomfortable right from the start. To make matters worse, the service only declined. The front desk staff were consistently rude and dismissive whenever I had questions. I also paid for a late check-out due to a delayed flight, and after the hotel withdrew the money from my bank, they locked me out of my room anyway. I had to go down to the desk to have it fixed, and again, there was no apology—just more attitude. Overall, while the location and cleanliness are decent, the hidden charges, lack of transparency, and flat-out disrespectful customer service ruined the experience. I would not stay here again, and I strongly recommend avoiding this property unless you want to deal with rudeness
- 5/5
It was a great location. The front desk staff were very polite and friendly. I would go back!
- 3/5
Bedding is comfara
- 5/5
Good location and good stay
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Conveniently located in the theatre district and near Times Square and subways. It's an older building and wifi is iffy but it is clean and safe.
- 5/5
Very good location for Time Square
- 4/5
It require more deep cleaning.
- 5/5
Everything!
- 5/5
This is a real gem in the value for the price for the location. I booked a twin room but received an e-mail to upgrade to a queen room for a very small amount per night which I took advantage of . The room is clean and the Molton Brown products are awesome. This is my second stay here and will not be my last.
- 4/5
Hotel room small, we struggled to find space for the case once opened but it was clean, comfortable and perfect to just dump our stuff and get out to explore. Would recommend!
- 5/5
All personnel was very kind, safe area. Amy was our House Keeping on Floor 15 th she is the best I will returned
- 2/5
First room, broken A/C. Second room, dirty, poorly working A/C, leaky sink, leaky shower, shower was either ice, cold or scolding hot… No in between. Decent location in Midtown, but expected everything to work well for the money. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Size) and really impressed how quiet it was.
- 4/5
Great location, convenient to multiple subway lines. Room was comfortable. The shower pressure was low, but not terrible.
- 5/5
This is a very clean and well-maintained hotel. It has an excellent location with easy access to all the available Times Square businesses.
- 5/5
Conveniently located in the heart of Time Square. Staff was very friendly, professional and went out of their way to ensure a great experience.

1. The air conditioning sounds like a rocket in your room. No kidding, scared us when it turned on. 2. The walls are paper thin. I heard every word of the conversation next door. Almost entertaining when I heard him (or maybe her) fart. 3. The bathroom door dowsn’t close without the three pull tug on it. 4. The lights in the hallway leak through the door and are on all night. 5. The elevators are nasty and kind of shut 6. The carpets in hallways are badly stained and smell. 7. The ice machine is broken but I can go down the road and buy some if I like! 8. The water pressure is non-existent. It will take you 10 minutes to get wet. 9. There is no fan in the bathroom and the door opens right to the bed. Strategic bathroom use. 10. $40 destination charge per night not mentioned in advance. I hope they use it for the cleaners or to fix the ice machine. All 10 small things are that, just small, but altogether with a dirty room and rude staff this place is not somewhere to stay. Nasty!
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
This was our first time staying at Aura and it won’t be the last. The location was perfect for everything we were doing. The staff was friendly and helpful, which you don’t always find in NYC hotels. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean. We couldn’t have been happier.
- 5/5
Fantastic location! We were able to check in early. Great room. Huge king size bed that was SO COMFORTABLE! Had a great experience. Able to leave bags after checkout so we could explore more. Will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Hotel was incredible! Beautiful and clean place to stay just a block from time square

The elevator was extremely small and it seems the door only open halfway.
- 5/5
A great gem in the heart of Times Square.
- 5/5
Everything great. However, there is no ice machine.
- 4/5
The Aura Hotel is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of Times Square. Subway is about 1 1/2 blocks away. The hotel itself is small, elevator is slow, and I truly don’t get why hotels no longer have dressers/drawers for guests. Luckily we had a nightstand with one drawer, but it sucks to have to have your luggage out so you can get your clothes and things ready for the day. Our room faced a brick wall, so that was not great. But the bed was extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well and was necessary during the unbearable heat wave NYC suffered through while we were there.

Great location and helpful staff
