Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its trendy aesthetic, convenient location, and friendly staff. However, the small room size is a consistent complaint, with many guests finding it cramped and uncomfortable. Additionally, some guests have experienced issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

I loved this place, great blackout drapes, quiet and nice places to hang together.

So central and facilities very good Nothing as all was very good

Where to start… All of the doors are extremely heavy. Not a good flow to the hotel, the elevators were tucked behind the reception desk and you would never know they were there, no signage. My room was over the square courtyard facing a wall of windows that looked directly in on other guests rooms, no reflective glass, I saw lots of naked people who I suspect had no idea. The first day a women came to my room at almost 5pm to service it, I was just back from a long day and want to relax, so I grabbed a couple of fresh towel and called it a day, I didnt bother with the room service after that. The thing that did it for me was the awful air conditioner/heater/thermostat. You could set it to whatever you wanted and it only worked one way, nothing was on and it was beginning to get warm and then suddenly it would click and boom on and blow full blast freezing air at the bed, then turn itself off and repeat… all night. When I mentioned it to a women at reception she said she sure would let maintenance know, but it sounded like lip service and that she had certinally heard that before. I wont book there again.

Room was clean staff were helpful. Did not use any of the amenities, I hate resort fees for things you don’t use.
- 3/5
The rooms are quite small but the twin room with a terrace was fantastic and doubled the space. Appreciated cold canned water each day. Common areas on the ground floor are really nice, when they're open. Several disappointments that were not clear online when booking: eg, coffee is 24/7 in the lobby but definitely not free, rooftop area/bar doesn't open until 4 and was not available our first night due to a buy-out, there are in-room umbrellas and slippers which carry a fee if you use them, there is a pilates studio onsite but always had a conference table in it or closed when we wanted to do some yoga, mats are not in room as mentioned online, nice big common sitting area that was only open one morning in three days - maybe the hours just didn't jive with our schedule. Overall, a good rate but felt a bit nickel and dimed.

A little gem of a hotel, fantastic, friendly wonderful, staff - very welcoming. The whole hotel has such a great vibe. Perfect little convenience store in the lobby for whatever you may need. The rooms are small, but spotless.. We had breakfast and it was amazing, overall highly recommend!
- 4/5
I wish they had a coffee maker in the room. I tried to order coffee in the morning but was transferred to the catering staff.
- 3/5
I really didn’t use the extra “amenities” I was charged for with the exception of the WiFi which was to typically cutting out in the evening, I think a lot of these charges should be optional for guests as I did not have use for them. The room was typically small for a NY hotel but comfortable. There was a private event while I was there so rooftop was closed to guests. Hallways were full of housekeeping supplies. Area was safe. On site bodega was insanely overpriced. I wouldn’t stay here again. It was extremely overpriced for value and location.

The location is good The bathroom door does not fully close so if you're travelling as a couple, there's no privacy when using the toilet ... plus the beds are right by the window, so if you want any privacy you need to keep the blinds down. Finally, the hotel charged $27 per movie we watched without clearly communicating it, which seems excessive! Can't recommend it and won't stay here again.

The room was clean and tidy, although it could have had improved storage facilities, aside from a few hangers there is not much space to store clothing. Otherwise the rooms are very compact but comfortable. The bathroom is frosted but completely see through and the door does not close flush, meaning there is little to no privacy when toileting or showering, something to bare in mind. There seemed to be a lot of staff at the front desk, who were polite and friendly, but felt a bit disorganised. There is lovely lounging areas, and the bar is very nice, with a reasonable 15% discount on drinks if you’re staying with the hotel. The cafe downstairs is really convenient and does a great coffee and almond crossaint. Whilst I enjoyed our stay, I probably wouldn’t stay again.

property was modern and well kept. great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was tiny!! but I guess this is typical for NYC. lol

Drinks from the Bodega were quite expensive ($50.00 Canadian +/- for a beer, a vodka drink and a water)

Location Shower on terrace didnt work…. Having this shower was the selling point at $600 a night in 80 degree plus weather. It was clean on the surface areas and location and staff were lovely. ------ editing on May 25, 2026 after seeing response from hotel. the shower was NOT on for second night also my mother wasn't not his trip and there was no requests made at all including the luggage rack in hotels response to review. not cool of y'all.

Small room but nice, great for 1, good for 2 but that’s it. Staff was great, location for our trip great but one thing I found odd was that they replaced towels but not wash cloths. We made do but again, should not have overlooked such a small yet important item. Would we stay again, yes…
- 5/5
The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to Soho and all the restaurants and shopping that neighborhood has to offer. Close to a subway stop so it is easy to venture off into different neighborhoods. The room was spacious by NYC standards and had a king bed. Complementary water was provided. Overall, excellent value for the price. Would stay again.

The room was indeed small, and not a lot of privacy when using the bathroom, so if you’re traveling with someone you don’t know that well, book 2 rooms. It was perfect for just my daughter and I. We felt very safe and the staff was welcoming and helpful.
- 4/5
Great staff. A little too bare bones for me. I want a coffee maker in room. Air conditioning noisy
- 4/5
The Soho location suited us as it was quieter than some other locations in New York. Access to the subway was easy and the shop and restaurant were great as we used them a fair amount. The room was very clean and the shower was powerful. It was a fabulous stay so very happy. The room was small and no storage. There was a small hanger between the beds but most of our clothes had to stay in the suitcase. Also not a fan of glass bathroom doors.
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. We always felt prioritized and well taken care of. The location was amazing and made getting around NYC so easy. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again on my next visit to New York!

This was the perfect stay for a quick overnight trip! The room felt very elevated and well designed - although the bathroom/shower door didnt want to stay shut - and i loved that my room faced a courtyard. The staff were really helpful. Helping us check in and booking us transport to JFK at the end of our stay. The only thing I would say is it should be made clearer that if you have a king bed with city view there is not all round access to the bed. When you are both over 60, one with a broken hand, it was not easy having to crawl to get out of the bed.
- 5/5
This is a really well located hotel in SoHo and offers fantastic amenities, such as a well stocked little shop for coffee & snacks downstairs, a gorgeous roof-top bar & light-filled rooms. It is very clean and the staff are super friendly & helpful. Check-in & out was a breeze and communication re the booking was excellent. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, close to subway station. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Very efficient hotel room, breakfast was delicious in the Lindens restaurant. Two bar options too - the roof terrace was a lovely way to end an evening in NYC

Very cheap pillows and not comfortable bed. I’ve developed neck pain from the pillows and kept waking up in the middle of the night to fix the pillow as it felt like I was on a rock and I had to keep fixing it. The queen bed is not a real queen bed it felt like full size. Two 110 lbs 5’2 girls couldn’t fit in the bed. We had to call and ask if this was for sure a queen bed.. but excellent staff was the only good part of the hotel. Very helpful and sweet customer service.

- 4/5
It was a nice place with a good location; however, the room was extremely small. I could not stay again because of the room's size.
- 3/5
Beware we booked the hotel at a certain price when we arrived. I was told that there is an extra $40 urban fee. I’ve lived in New York City my whole life and have stayed at many hotels in Manhattan. I have never heard of an urban fee before. Upon questioning the night manager was nice enough to remove the fee, but I’m sure many people get stuck paying it should be included in the price of the hotel. The hotel informed me that this is a tactic that Expedia uses to attract patrons to the hotel with lower price prices. However, I’ve have been using Expedia for many years and this is not consistent across all hotel hotels with Expedia.
- 5/5
The staffs super friendly & the room was clean!
- 4/5
Great location, easy check in/out, no coffee in the (non-suite) rooms and you have to buy it in the lobby which is a bit of a pain, especially if the barista is on break when you get downstairs. Rooms are small, but efficient and tidy. Perfect for a solo traveler.
- 5/5

- 5/5
I love staying at the Arlo! Such a vibe.
- 5/5
I liked the vibe if the hotel - modern and updated with nice amenities like the bar, restaurant, and snack store. The room was cozy, with big windows that made the space look bigger and brighter. Comfy bed. We booked after our flight was cancelled and we needed a place to stay last minute. The staff was so nice and helped us store our bags before and after check in while we explored around, killing time while waiting for our flight home. While the room was small, it was great for the unexpected extra night we had to stay in the city. Bathroom left little privacy. The sliding door leaves gaps in-between the door and glass shower enclosure and wall so you can see into the toilet at the right angle. Fine for staying alone in a room, but if you like privacy when going be prepared to be in really close quarters.
- 3/5
No in room coffee, cleaning late in the day, even on sixth floor noisy from adjacent rooms.
- 5/5
Excellent location, right by Soho. Lots of things to do nearby like shopping at Broadway and having food in a nice restaurant near by or walking to china town. Subway is just steps away. Would book again next time i am in NYC. Everything was great! The washroom has glass doors, so be ware.
- 4/5
Granted, I only stayed here for one night (I was in town for a concert) but I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly while checking in & out. It was also wonderful that they offer bag/luggage storage as an option because I arrived late due to flight delays & traffic and literally had to drop my bags off and head over the concert venue. From what I could tell the room I stayed in was very nice and clean, the hotel in general felt very safe and the property had a really nice vibe and style overall and the price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. I will definitely stay here again!

The only drawer was broken - the engineer (who was lovely!) said there was nothing you could do about it and all drawers are like that. It’s a heavy massive drawer under the bed you’d have to lift up to pull in or out. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles all had mold inside the label. The window didn’t seal so it was freezing in the bed no matter what the temp was set to. I️ brought all these things to their attention and no remedies were made. Also, if you call the front desk from the room phone you get a third party company, not actually someone at the front desk.

Specific issues encountered: Cleanliness: Upon check-in, the room was not in a clean condition. While I appreciate that your team responded to my request to have it cleaned again, a suite should be "guest-ready" from the moment the key is handed over. Soundproofing: Despite being on the 7th floor, the soundproofing was surprisingly poor. I could hear street noise and honking clearly throughout the night, which made for a very restless stay. Plumbing Noise: Every time a neighboring room used their water, the sound through the pipes was loud enough to be disruptive. Light Gaps: The curtains had significant gaps on the sides. For a premium room, I expected a full blackout experience, but instead, I had light peeking through all night. As a returning guest, I chose the suite specifically for a better experience, but it felt like a downgrade compared to your standard rooms. I hope you’ll look into these maintenance and soundproofing issues so future guests (and perhaps myself, should I return) don't face the same frustrations.

Not a big fan of the bathroom in the room. Totally fine as. Single but sharing a room the bathroom is a bit quirky. Jazz club, rooftop and little wood bungalows are very cool vibes

The design of the bathroom was the worst. There is legit no door to the bathroom just a half fogged skidding barn door. But you can see whoever is in the bathroom from both parts of the door. Like big inch wide gaps. Plus there is no fan in the bathroom which causes mold to grow inside the shower. We had a terrace room and the door to the terrace didn’t lock and the drain in the sink didn’t drain.

My only complaint is it was single digit temps outside and the heat was not on very high so when I entered the room it was ice cold and took a long time to get warm. And the window isn’t well insulated so I had to keep the blinds closed the entire time to keep the room warm. The room is definitely for one person only - two really couldn’t fit… I’d come back though when I need a quick work trip.

Great location. Cool rooms. Fantastic staff
- 5/5
For the location and the balcony I give it a five star, also they allowed us to check in at 9 AM which was a plus but the rooms are really really small. We understood this going into New Year’s Eve. Therefore we were OK with it but I can see someone get this hotel a three out of five if you’re expectations were to be just a normal size room space..

Thanks for the stay
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Let us check in early after a long day of travel
- 3/5
I feel like this hotel had potential to be great, but the staff couldn’t be bothered when I told them I had to check out two days early for an emergency to get back home and if there was anything that could be done to avoid being charged for my rooms. Though a booked through a 3rd party the said they would look into it and call me back… never once called me back. I did reach out to the 3rd party and they said they would contact the hotel. With an update I was notified that there were several attempts and the hotel never responded. I stay in New York a lot, and was really looking forward to this stay but will probably defer to another hotel next time. A little goes a long way, and this was not the resolution I was hoping for. Also, the bot-style answers used via the text communications.. lose those.

- 4/5
The area of the hotel is amazing! Very walkable to areas around SoHo and Easy/West Villages. Def need to take a taxi/uber further than that. The rooms are smallllll so be sure you are comfortable with the person you are staying with! And it says they have room service but that is mainly for breakfast. Room service for anything else is just whatever is available in the lobby area. Finally, no automatic doors so be aware it is a little clunky trying to hold the door open and roll suitcases in. Very friendly staff and seemed like a great vibe!
- 4/5
Staff was super nice. Rooms are teeny tiny. Zero toilet privacy. Zero shower privacy. That’s not really my jam but overall it served its purpose.
- 5/5
quiet and clean!
- 3/5
Staff was excellent, the lounge area and restaurants were great as well. The overall vibe of the hotel was awesome. The downside is tiny rooms even by nyc standards and no gym.
- 3/5
The door of our room was not sound proof and the staff door was right next door, they were not considerate of guests when opening and shutting it, and would laugh and talk really loud whether morning or night. It was really disruptive.
- 3/5
Super small rooms, smaller than normal NYC rooms. Rooms service was fast but skip it if you’re thinking you are going to get a decent meal.
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
Staff was amazing. Room was small but had everything we needed. Could hear everything going on outside the door in the hall and outside the window. A loud speaker talking loudly outside at 8am on the weekend
- 5/5
Great stay! Bathroom has a slider door so there isn’t true “privacy,” but there is a nice, larger restroom down in lobby. Staff was wonderful. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful
- 4/5

- 3/5
Was woken at 8 am on Saturday morning by repairs in room has side me, was not impressed. Was woken at 7 am on Sunday by music in the courtyard. I am NOT a light sleeper. Was not impressed. Staff gets 5 star. They are lovely as always.
- 5/5
Very enjoyable stay. However, in the room I was in, there was very limited space to store clothing. Location is excellent with easy assess both downtown and uptown
- 4/5
Location was pretty good. I found the hotel room extremely small and cramped which was the biggest disappointment as we couldn’t fully open our suitcases. The room was also quite noisy - the sound of upstairs guests came through the vents in our room. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are pleasant so I’d say a 7/10 stay.
- 3/5
Arlo Soho has great staff and very good location. The rooms are very small and don’t have as many amenities as your typical 4 stars hotel. The room was clean, bathroom/toilet is only separated by a glass wall with a giant side hole when you close it so you don’t have much privacy. The area is lively and vibrant (that means also louder after hours). A bodega downstairs had good breakfast, snacks options.
- 5/5
Very easy communication. Would stay here again
- 4/5

- 5/5
Very clean rooms and excellent customer service! Perfect location for me, too. Felt very safe.
- 3/5
Hallway floor is dirty, library room silly because none of the books are actually readable. Aesthetics are not so good. And in somewhat a state of disrepair. Trying to be hip but not actually designed well or actually stylish. Too much money for a hotel that’s not in great shape and The design is for hallway filled with chairs stored walls scuffed et cetera.

Great bed, shower, towels etc We stayed in a courtyard room, view was not fantastic. Room was compact, but bed was tall so cases could be stored underneath. Like so many hotels these days the bathroom is a glass enclosure and offers no privacy.

Super cute boutique hotel. Excellent staff, quiet and clean neighborhood, close to good shopping and restaurants.
- 5/5
Love the fragrance in the air, the varied public spaces, how cool the rooms are and, last but not least - the staff. I interacted with Moses (he helped me with my luggage) and Gabriel (waiter from Foxtail bar). It was my 3rd stay and I will definitely come back !
- 5/5
Overall had a good experience. Started with a great check innwurh Kyle and continued throughout the stay.

- 2/5
Room was great. Hotel did water maintenance, and shut off all the water to the guest rooms. I did not receive any notification that I would be without water before I had to check-out.
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean, but a little rundown and it was noisy at night. Not sure if it was due to the particular weekend I was there or if there is a music venue nearby, but something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper.
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful front desk, and a short walk to amazing food and shopping. The hotel itself has a splendid rooftop which everyone should check out.

breakfast was delicious !

Great communal spaces to work from the hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious restaurant in the hotel
- 5/5
The overall vibe was stylish yet comfortable. I’d definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The location is good--although not in Soho! Hudson Sq is not as lively but proximate to numerous interesting places.
- 4/5
Amenities dont like much the bar at the first floor and not the opportunity go to the gardin as at theapst
- 3/5
Pretty average for the amount of stars it has.

Clean room: comfortable bed, very friendly staff. Loved staying here.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was friendly and constantly trying to assist. The manager Andrew was on top of things and we wonderful come back.
- 5/5
Excellent all around, fun, thoughtfully designed. Great mattresses and bedding. We’ll be back!
- 5/5
Overall really happy with the property. No benefit to being an Expedia VIP member. Zero. Has never given me any at hotel benefit.
- 5/5
Rooms were very clean and cleaned daily. Staff were all so friendly, excellent coffee. Grab and go bar variety could be a little improved, more choice of hot rolls to take away / bagels etc. Restaurant food and drink very good. Clean and amazing value for money, definitely coming back!
- 1/5
The room was at 75 - 77 degrees at all times even when I tried to turn on the AC in the room, it actually got hotter. The thermostat may have been broken, but it definitely wasn't working. The hot water didn't work either and I was forced to take a cold shower. The fridge in the room wasn't really working while we're on the list of things that were broken in the room. The items in the fridge were luke warm even after putting it overnight. I had a one night stay, thankfully, but I spent the first 3 hours at the hotel at the lobby waiting for my room to be ready. After complaining about the long wait in getting my room, I was put in a room on the 3rd floor. I think this was a floor where staff clocked in and where they stored supplies. I understand that the staff are working, but it was loud even at night. Overall, a terrible experience for someone that was staying there for 18 hours. This was my 4th time staying at this particular hotel and the quality and experience has decreased drastically. It was a waste of time and money. I will most likely be looking for better options next time I am in SoHo.
- 3/5
Be aware that rooms are crazy small it’s for sure only for 1 person and even for one it’s tiny. No place to open your suitcase, no closet. Sink is in the room next to bed, from the bed you can touch the shower. Everything is reachable by hand 😂

Clean room but tight quarters. Had to go sideways between television and bed to get to other side of bed. The sliding door for the bathroom offers no privacy. Elevators work quickly.

- 5/5
Very comfortable bed & best shower I’ve ever used( amazing water pressure and shower head.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved the location & the staff was amazing! We have amazing memories & would totally stay there again!
- 5/5
Took the train in, close to canal subway stop on the 1 and E on spring. Safe, good food inside the hotel, rooftop bar was great. Clean, small like all NYC rooms but this was a top 3 room by value. Oh! They have a little shop in the lobby and it has your essentials, that’s cool
- 1/5
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
- 4/5
parking garage conveniently located. staff friendly. clean room

Amazing hotel…HIGHLY recommend!!! Best location, incredible breakfasts…just wonderful all around!!
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the The Arlo. We booked the king room with a balcony and it was literally a sun deck with two lounge chairs and an out door shower with a view of the Hudson. Amazing. It was a perfect place for an afternoon nap before we went to the Masquerade Ball we attended in NYC. Really comfy beds.
- 4/5
Small but lovely rooms
- 3/5
The staff was professional just not sure why it took so long. The room had two twin beds, which I thought would be a good fit for my daughter and me. I love living minimalistically, however, the accommodations were bare bones. We only needed the room for sleeping and getting ready for the day, however, the sound of the city felt like it was next door. The sirens, horns, and voices were loud throughout the night. Yes, we stayed during a weekend, but the noise kept us up most of the night. The shower had excellent water pressure and heat, but as far as room to bathe yourself, I turned the water off so I could see the bubbles of the soap. The hotel and room are very modern. I liked the decor and aesthetic throughout. There was no continental or complimentary breakfast. I am not sure why this was included in the description of the hotel. The restaurant inside, Lindens, had an incredible breakfast menu. My daughter is quite particular and she was satisfied with her pancakes. I opted for the avocado toast and it was delicious. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and the coffee was strong. The location was excellent within walking distance of Trader Joe's and eateries.
- 3/5
The room was nice, the beds were cozy and the shower was great. The only issue was that the TV always turned on full blast in volume no matter what volume it was when we turned it off. The hotel is also very busy but that is expected for NYC.
- 5/5
My first multi day trip in New York, it was good to know whatever happened, I had a safe and comfortable place to go back to.
- 3/5
Loud parties downstairs on Friday and Saturday. Drunk tech bros in the hallways. Great location, average hotel with sparse rooms. Ok for one night of fun in Soho, wont stay for 5 nights again
- 3/5
Location of this hotel can’t be beat. Loved how close it was to Hudson Park and easy to get around. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. For this level of hotel, I would have expected not to have to shuffle and squeeze around multiple large linen carts permanently stored on my floor my entire stay. My room was a bit worse for wear as well, but I think it was a problem unique to my room. Location and staff would still make this hotel a good choice.
- 5/5
Have staff let us know more about the property with the outlets like the speakeasy cocktail lounge the restaurants how long the rooftop bar is open things like that will help us understand the city and the property a little bit more
- 5/5
Upon initial arrival, our room that was assigned to us was not what we originally purchased. After speaking with the staff, they quickly remedied the situation and gave us free breakfast vouchers for the wonderful restaurant located within the hotel. Staff was very kind, amenities were clean, and the area around the hotel was very nice. Will be staying again
- 4/5
Great hotel has a cool rooftop, cafe and break out areas. Rooms aren’t massive but enough for what need if out and about. Requested a city view and they accommodated. Good area if want to be near west village, soho, walking to Chelsea markets about 25mins if don’t mind walking.
- 3/5
Unfortunately the property was very noisey and the bathroom door in the room was just a sliding door with large gaps which led to minimal privacy. Frequent uncomfortable interactions with the bellmen every time we left. Amenities such as the rooftop, bar & restaurant were completely booked out and reserved from work groups and so were the common areas in the lobby. Felt as if we couldnt use our own amenities we paid for in our rate. Disappointing
- 1/5
Not well maintained, bedsheets stained, broken outlet plugs beeping all night long. Dirty towels with threads hanging on them.
- 5/5
It was active, clean and very friendly.
- 5/5
Great property in a great location. The hotel was in a perfect spot to be able to walk many places or hop on the subway to get around the city easily. Rooms are on the smaller side, like most places in NYC, but well done and use space well. The biggest issue is the lack of a true closet if you are an unpacker. The staff was great, very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend checking out the two bars.
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Very quiet and easily walkable to all great areas of the city. Staff were always helpful and kind.
- 5/5
Quiet Boutique Hotel. Very convenient location, walkable to Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Little Italy, subway close by. 10-15 minute walk to Spring and Broadway for great shopping. Front desk staff very helpful.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, walkable in a safe area, shops and restaurants nearby
- 1/5
Just lacked customer support. They didn’t fulfill any of my requests as a guest and didn’t even care that they didn’t. Rude front desk staff.
- 5/5
Extremely friendly staff at front desk, Lindens, Bodega and the staff that helped store our luggage. Special shout out to Kyle and Nyla!
- 5/5
Quiet, convenient location with good access to local neighborhoods.
- 5/5
Staff was great. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the roof top.
- 5/5
10/10 experience. loved my room. loved the view. love the atmosphere. loved lindens for dinner. loved the area and how walkable it was to everything. will be staying here whenever i come back.
- 2/5
Rude and dirty
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
Staff speak and interact with guests in a very “cool, casual” way, which lacks service and friendliness. We complained about slow internet (too slow for a video call) and the lady at reception hung up on me after saying she will raise it with the team. Nobody ever followed up. The restaurant and roof top terrace were closed for one entire night due to a private event, which is a shame when you’re advertising it to customers. There was mentioning of gym usage however the gym was a 17 minute walk from the hotel.
- 5/5
Super fun decor/ vibe. The space is a little tight- but not unmanageably so.
- 2/5
Would not stay here again
- 5/5
It’s in SoHo, where I prefer to stay. The room is small but creative.
- 5/5
Rooftop bar closes at 10pm, so night time quiet which is very pleasant
- 1/5
The room was dirty. Towels were not clean. I felt very uncomfortable staying there. It was so disgusting that I left after the first night. Do not use this hotel. Name is misleading..not even in SoHo.
- 3/5
The location, the lounges and rooftop deck were very cute, well designed and conveniently located - but the rooms were insanely small for 2 people. The sink was by the bed and the WC was a few feet away divided with only a frosted glass panel resulting in a lack of privacy. The decor was minimal and clean, but so basic. Not a robe or any sense of luxe which would mirror the nightly fee. It was just OK.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel. Our king room was small with almost no storage, hooks, or place for bags *but* we had a large terrace, and that made all the difference. We had nice weather, so we actually kept our suitcases outside and were able to enjoy lounging out there. Would only reccommend a room with this extra space. Rooftop bar is super cute.
- 5/5
Best hotel
- 4/5
Also, our weekend (us open tennis), both hotel bars had private parties and or closed real early.
- 5/5
very convinent to stay
- 5/5
Perfect stay all around
- 5/5
Stayed for 2 nights, they were very late making my room up on the 1st day. Even though I was out of the room for the better part of the day. I am an early riser, went down for coffee a few minutes after opening (literally had been waiting for hours) and when ordering a cappuccino, staff literally waved me off saying it was ‘too early” for specialty drinks, and handed me a house coffee.. little off putting.
- 2/5
The most recent stay was made worse by the front desk staff a) making me feel dumb for asking why the fee was higher than I expected- they said it’s b/c of the security hold, well don’t you think it would have helped us both out if you told me that before asking me to swipe my card? And b) later when I politely asked if I could eat my own food on the roof deck (b/c the rooms are minuscule), front desk said “you can try”. So lame.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere. Staff at front desk seemed alittle unorganized so check in took way longer then it should have. But other than that the stay was great!
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Great location, really enjoyed having a private terrace!
- 3/5
We booked a stay in July and the room’s AC was not working. Please keep in mind that we were on the 10th floor so the room was at 80°. We talked to the front desk three times about it. They told us an engineer was on the way to take a look each time. They told us that the room would be fixed and ready when we came back for our event. We came back and it wasn’t fixed. Thankfully, the night shift crew helped us out by switching our room (finally) at around midnight. And they also gave us a complimentary breakfast. I’ve stayed at Arlo Nomad and Arlo Midtown and both stays were amazing. Arlo Soho on the other hand is another story. If it wasn’t for the night crew’s kindness and customer service by finally switching our room after multiple complaints, I would’ve had a lot more to say/write.
- 5/5
Clean room, super comfy bed, great location. Toilet was in room with only a glass divider
- 4/5

- 3/5
A lot of the noise in the evenings from music in the lobby if you’re out in a room on the lower floors. The staff took a while to put fix this. Location is good for a quick work trip.
- 5/5
Great value
- 4/5
We come to the Arlo every US Open
- 5/5
I really loved this hotel! When I got there I couldn't check in yet but the front desk staff was really friendly and let me store my bags so I was able to go enjoy the day. I honestly can't say enough about the staff there. The room size was perfect for me and I loved how modern everything was. The fortune cookies in the room were a fun little touch. It's really close to the subway and a lot of things were within walking distance. It was a pretty quiet area but I felt safe even late at night. I would definitely stay here again. It's one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.
- 5/5
Absolutely wonderful hotel —great location, chic, modern and clean. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Short stay hotel was very clean and comfy just a little smaller then I’d liked but overall 9.7/10
- 4/5
Good hotel overall. Would recommend. Rooms are small but do the job if you’re planning to be out. If you have a room facing the court yard, you won’t be able to sleep due to the noise (until midnight-ish which would have been good to know. Otherwise happy with the offering and good value for money for NY and the area.
- 5/5
We had a great day, although rooms can be quite small if one stays for too long
- 5/5
Lively atmosphere with great service.
- 5/5
WOW! ARLO is amazing from the first step in to my check our very very early. I LOVE IT HERE. I will come back a lot on business. I loved the restaurant. It was soothing. The mural mudra was especially beautiful in the courtyard, as was the delicious cuisine. The room was cozy and so very clean.
- 5/5
Cute and clean room
- 5/5
Great affordable hotel
- 5/5
Seamless experience throughout my entire stay. The amenities are awesome & staff is extremely attentive.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved my stay here! It was in walking distance to everything on my itinerary and getting ride share service was so easy. The parking was on the same block as the hotel which was a plus. The staff was so friendly and nice. Also the convenience store in the lobby was lovely as well. I will definitely be staying again!
- 5/5
Bed was incredibly comfortable, and the local food was fantastic!
- 5/5
Great service at the front desk and in the bar. The terrace was awesome! The room was a bit tight AND it is NYC! Good set up in the space.

Beautiful hotel and in a great spot to walk around Soho/ Manhattan or hop on the subway
- 4/5
Great location, friendly staff, clean and fresh. Didn’t give you that one 5 star as the room was tiny.
- 5/5
Loved everything about this stay
- 5/5
Hi Hello, I'm Chu. I enjoyed the stay. The shower was amazing.
- 5/5
Overall, great day pretty much liked everything .
- 5/5
The ARLO was located in an excellent location, close to everything. The staff was great and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Great location with lots of restaurants within close walking distance. My wife was there by herself for business and felt safe walking every where. Easy to get to the subway and PATH trains. At times a courtyard room was a little loud with the restaurant and seatings. If that’s the case think about a city view room or have some ear plugs. That was only one or two of the 5 nights though. Highly recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
when they say this is a micro room they’re not kidding around so the toilet and the shower are basically in the room with you as well as the bathroom sink. There is not a separate bathroom so be prepared if you’re with a family member or a friend and you have to go to the bathroom…. They are going to pretty much partake in that experience. These rooms are great if you’re solo but if you’re not, thumbs down. on the positive side the rooftop bar is great love the froze and the restaurant and lounge on the first floor or very nice definitely a hipster vibe, conveniently located and not noisy at all.
- 1/5
We have been staying at the Arlo properties since it opened. it has been our hotel of choice when we visit, but this recent trip was very disappointing. The rooms are no longer fresh and it feels very run down. While the location is great and the food and bar are also great, sleeping in a room with a mildew bathroom with broken pumps for the toiletries in the shower is simply not worth the overnight stay especially for the price point.
- 4/5
I enjoyed the cleanliness of the space and how the staff is friendly and approachable. I never felt like I was a burden for requesting something. All of the staff I encountered were attentive and helpful. Everyone did their job with a smile. It is convenient too cause there is a pizza parlor right next door and their vodka and pesto sauce slice is delicious. Subway only like a 5 minute walk. Anything you’d need you can walk there within 10-15 minutes too. We got the bunk bed room which I was surprised the bathroom was very much close to the beds. It’s separated by a glass wall so if you’re staying there, just no privacy is not really a thing. Besides that, hotel provided everything we needed. Would recommend to others to stay here!

Off every few minutes that woke me up in the middle of the night was a bit bothersome. The staff were attentive and super helpful and in general I would say it was a positive experience. The room service was top notch, shower water pressure was excellent
- 5/5
first place I went for a solo trip, I really appreciated the comfy escape. The whole entire place smells amazing , the staff is really nice. Food and drinks really yum, definitely going again.
- 5/5
Pretty view, nice small room with lovely terrace, cool vibe, friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location, great service!
- 4/5
Everyone was very nice and made us feel welcome. Food was excellent. Room was a bit on the small side and would benefit from tea and coffee making facilities. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Close to subways which wss excellent.
- 3/5
Very small and dated rooms that have not been upgraded in quite some time. Overpriced for what it is and lots of congestion on corner outside - super loud
- 2/5
Great location. Poor design. We stayed in the twin room. The toilet and shower are right at the foot of the bed with only a slightly frosted (see through) plastic panel. You hear all intimate sounds. Our neighbor set up a speaker on the terrace facing back towards the room and blared bad Phil Collins music. We called the front desk and they helped but it took over 40 minutes. We finally got peace at 12:30am. Staff was very nice though!
- 5/5
Love location of this hotel, always enjoy staying here.
- 1/5
The staff were not helpful or accommodating at all- definitely the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in New York and the hotel looks like it is never cleaned .
- 2/5
Well, I got an email offering me an upgrade to a terrace room which I selected, but when I checked in, they did not have any terrace rooms available!!!! The room was clean and comfortable, BUT THE BATHROOM IS SURROUNDED BY GLASS WITH A 2” SLIT IN THE DOOR - YOU CAN HEAR ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!!! We had to blast music to keep from hearing each others’ amplified farts! Awful design, just frosted glass surrounding the bathroom and it’s about 5’ from the bed, amplifies everything!
- 5/5
This property was 10/10. It was clean, the staff was friendly, it was quiet but also lively in areas like the rooftop bar. I would definitley go again
- 5/5
I want to highlight the concierge his name was Theo he’s the BEST!
- 5/5
Great location. Clean place. You could smell the hotel from the street, it was great! Safe area. Near many stores to shop and the piers to run. Will come back if in the area again!
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel. Very aesthetically pleasing.
- 5/5
Great location and amazing staff. From the checkin to the checkout, everything was perfect . Would definitely recommend and will be back forsure! Thanks to all the team for the best hospitality.
- 5/5
Centric and convenient
- 5/5
I always have the best time at the arlo. Perfect escape from the city while being in the middle of it all
- 5/5
Clean rooms, good location and helpful staff, would go back!
- 1/5
Horrible service got called stupid when the blinds weren’t working but it was actually their fault
- 4/5
Great staff, clean, comfortable rooms, convenient location
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
10/10 perfect stay
- 5/5
We enjoyed breakfast at restaurant and had drinks at roof top Room was clean Complimentary water cans - perfect on a hot day The staff went beyond - with a basket upon arrival and room decorated - we were celebrating our anniversary - complimentary breakfast We were able to walk to TriBeCa- where we had dinner - really loved the location
- 5/5
The roof-top bar was fun, the french fries looked great, but we had a dinner reservation somewhere else so we couldn't try. Would on a second visit. Canned water is in the mini fridge free of charge.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Good location. Can be loud at night.
- 5/5
Cute boutique hotel. Spacious with balcony, nice bar and restaurant.
- 5/5
Arlo is a cool spot in SoHo. Highly recommended!
- 3/5
The property is clean which is nice but pretty loud. The rooms are tiny (yes I know it’s New York) but they are especially small. No proper door (only barn door slide) on the bathroom so if you are staying with someone it’s pretty… intimate.
- 5/5
Enjoyed this property, easy to get to. Awesome rooms. Terrific location being close to places and also quiet location. Loved having the room with the terrace, well worth the upgrade for the space and open air and view
- 3/5
- 5/5
Was a nice location and quiet!
- 4/5
The location is great for walking and nearby subways. The only thing is it’s located near the Holland tunnel entrance and people are constantly honking horns. The hotel is very nice and comfortable…
- 4/5
All in all we had a great time at the Arlo SoHo. Though the room was quite small (even for for New York) they were very nice and made the most of the space. Just a note if you are facing the courtyard you will want to have your curtains closed most of the time as you can clearly see in to all of the rooms.
- 3/5
The room was tiny… did not feel comfortable. Toilet right next to bed… not worth the price!!
- 3/5
The room was extremely noisy, you could hear honking from 2-6 pm due to cars trying to get into Holland tunnel. We appreciated the early check-in even with a fee.
- 5/5
Arlo SoHo was a great experience. Their location and customer service was above and beyond!
- 3/5
Location was good, rooms very small and older
- 4/5
location is fantastic. within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. on a street that’s not as busy especially sidewalks front desk service is was great. restaurant service was extremely slow Market at entry is a nice touch the coffee in the market was very good
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel located right in downtown New York! The location couldn’t have been better — just a 5-minute walk to the Hudson River and close to so many must-visit NYC attractions. The room, though compact, was incredibly cozy and impressively well-designed to make the most of the space. Everything was neat, tidy, and thoughtfully arranged. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had everything you would expect from a quality hotel, and then some. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a true NYC experience!
- 5/5
Consistently an excellent property, any issues they’re always resolved quickly. Great staff, cool vibe.
- 3/5
Its a bar with rooms. It doesnt clean rooms daily and give people the "benefits" stated on the urban resort fee card.
- 5/5
Basic needs - cool lobby- relaxed rooftop (at least the day I was there) and not far from everything
- 5/5
We
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing people. Very friendly, kind and helpful. Loved my stay at this hotel. Has everything you need and is in a great location and to get out and experience New York City. Fun rooftop too!
- 3/5
Eh. The rooms are tiny. Location is great. Asked for water- it never came. Room was clean. Good for a one night stay.
- 4/5
Nice staff, great location, small rooms
- 5/5
Great service at front desk
- 5/5
Room was small but perfectly laid out. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
We stayed at the Arlo for a night and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, warm and accommodated us leaving luggage until check in. The rooms were clean, and the property was well maintained, easily accessible and also away from the hustle. We will sure stay here again!!
- 4/5
An affordable place for a night in a good area. The room was clean but heads up it is very tiny but worked for my one night there. I wouldn't choose this for a multiple stay hotel but it was clean, comfortable and great view from the room.
- 4/5
The service is wonderful, but the rooftop bar can be very noisy, not good for business travel
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Great location in the heart of downtown - walkable to awesome and trendy restaurants. Rooftop and restaurant access adds to hotel the experinece. Rooms are small-- best for a short stay.
- 5/5
The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable with free water and even fortune cookies. Check out was just as friendly as check in. We will be back!!
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and very professional. My room was clean and very useable, if not exactly spacious. The public areas were very comfortable and available when I wanted to use them. The hotel bar and restaurant were quite good. The location was superb for my needs; just a few minutes' walk from the Canal St subway stop and lots of delis/restaurants around if you want to get out.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and the staff very helpful
- 5/5
Great location and rooftop was fantastic.
- 5/5
The hairdryer was ok and the toiletries provided were very nice, with the hand wash being a nice addition to your standard offerings. One highlight would be the breakfast experience made extra special by both Zulu and Levi during our stay. Thank you and I recommend the bacon, egg and cheese - a delight!
- 5/5
Really appreciated the attentive staff! Always a fan of Arlo properties!
- 5/5
Recommendable
- 4/5
Great spot !
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
Great hotel in a great location! Staff were amazing & always available! Great roof top bar & public areas! We will return!
- 5/5
Great location. Walkable to the Hudson, Greenwich and SOHO.
- 3/5
Overall it was good but I did not like the bathroom and the room was small
- 3/5
In general, an okay hotel, $350/night doesn’t get you much anymore in NYC.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Nice place and very convenient
- 5/5
Great location for exploring West Village, Soho and Tribeca. Helpful and friendly staff and a modern clean room with nice rooftop bar too.
- 5/5
Only stayed one night but I was really impressed with this place. So much so, that I will look to stay here on my next trip to NYC. First-timers to NYC may want to be closer to Times Square/Midtown but for a subsequent trip this place is perfect. Lots of nice bars and restaurants within a short walk and the Hudson River walkway is a real gem. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant (excellent) and breakfast the following morning (also excellent). Even had a drink on the rooftop bar - unfortunately too cold to sit outside but looked excellent too! Will definitely be back. Rooms on the small side but spotlessly clean and well laid out. Staff on desk and in restaurant also lovely. Well done, Arlo Soho!
- 4/5
Great location and price. Room was tiny but for one person it sufficed. Entire room was literally and bathroom and a bed. Nowhere to even put a suitcase. But it was NYC and location, location, location. Would stay again if solo. If I was traveling as a couple it would not work.
- 5/5
Great location and staff.
- 5/5
Perfect location, excellent staff and comfortable practical rooms entire properties very clean and everyone super friendly. Gabriel in the bar was great.
- 2/5
Room is ridiculously small. No closet no drawers a few cheap hangers on the wall. Cannot move in here. I’d cancel my second night if i could get a human on the phone to cancel.
- 1/5
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Room on 3rd floor was smaller than some
- 5/5
AL at the front desk was awesome!
- 5/5
All staff very friendly and helpful Restaurant great quality and good value
- 5/5
- 4/5
Okay
- 4/5
Expensive coffee shop. Terrible and expensive service at the roof top bar.
- 4/5
It was very loud at night. Didn’t realize there was a rooftop club. Also no gym.
- 4/5
Great for a solo traveler who wants to stay in that particular area. That said, bathrooms do not provide privacy if you’re with someone. It’s a sliding glass door and there are gaps that you can clearly see the person using toilet. I also booked the hotel because it had a rooftop bar/restaurant which we were not able to use. I found out every Saturday they have these parties/special events with a DJ/club music and you could hear it and FEEL it from my room on the 8th floor. Fortunately it ended around 10. I’ve found that this is the case with most NYC hotel rooftops. Best to ask before you book if this is a problem for you. Still, hotel bed was comfortable and room clean
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
Great value in NYC .
- 5/5
Nice hotel, friendly staff
- 4/5
VERY small rooms, not really suitable for more than 1 person with luggage. The overall vibe and quality is great, but the rooms come with very few amenities (i.e. no coffee, tea, hot water, etc., no toiletries, no iron in room). The location is good. Also we had booked a room with two twin beds and the hotel said hotels.com booked us a queen room, so we had to book an entire extra room at our expense.
- 5/5
only good things to say about this hotel
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
The team at Arlo is exceptional. They are so nice and helpful, and the hotel itself is incredible! I'd highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Cleanliness and helpful staff!
- 4/5
Nice hotel with very small rooms. We had the king Courtside and it felt like we were on a cruise ship. If your on the inside you have to climb over your partner, hopefully not waking or squishing them. The closet is none existant instead you get an 18" rod that hangs near the bed. I also learned a new term, Urban tax, Another way to say resort fee. Just another money grab. $37
- 5/5
This is the second Arlo I’ve stayed at and it was as good as the first. The room was tiny but had pretty much everything you need and the bed is exceptionally comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Must be an Arlo thing. Nice little extras like a credit for Citibikes makes the cost of the room more reasonable. I’d definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Excellent service, comfortable and modern rooms, bar and restaurant are both solid choices
- 3/5
The room was average. Average toiletries, average decor. It was fine, just not what I had envisioned for a 4 star hotel with a supposed VIP package. The Holiday Inn in Jackson Michigan has equal comfort, cleanliness, and service. also note: Staying on a sunday evening and returning after a show left no dining options as everything is closed at ten pm.
- 2/5
The reception staff were super friendly and the condition and location were great. The urban tax really bothered me. Charging for wifi and a couple of glasses of water. Things I’d expect regardless. The room was tiny and when showering in the same room, it got the whole room hot and damp
- 2/5
Falsely advertised. Keep in mind, your room may not have a REAL BATHROOM! We got a king size room for two adults, and the sink was outside the bathroom, and the bathroom did not have a real door… it was a toilet that was covered (barely) by a see through glass door. So any business you did in the bathroom could be heard and seen by anyone else in the room due to the LACK OF A REAL DOOR! This is not explicitly written anywhere in the listing so do not book unless you can confirm there is an actual NORMAL bathroom in your room.
- 4/5
Stayed at arlo soho several times; love location & room was quiet...but property seems a bit more worn than a year ago - in public areas and the room.
- 4/5
A favorite stay - I’ll certainly be back!
- 3/5
We’ve book a King Size room facing the courtyard. They gave us a room facing the street and on the 2nd floor. Noise and construction all night long. In particular the second night. Very disappointed.
- 5/5
great location for shopping and sightseeing
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Surprisingly quiet.
- 5/5
Staff & service were great. The area is convenient, easy parking, and the room was clean & comfortable.
- 5/5
Great stay.
- 5/5
Small but excellent and stylish room. Comfortable bed, excellent service.
- 5/5
The property was beautiful and enjoyed the breakfast
- 5/5
Great location and staff.
- 5/5
I love this location and hotel, great staff, nice property and wonderful location, even though it's at the mouth of Holland Tunnel! very good if you are heading south though and I was! I love this Hotel
- 5/5
Property was in a great location! Staff was amazing! Cool, Hip vibe!! I would stay here again.
- 4/5
It was ok. Didn’t realized when i booked it that the room was very very small. There was no room to unpack. Works great for travelers with carry on that are visiting for max 2 days.

- 4/5
Pretty good hotel
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
The staff was incredible. Anytime in the future I am staying in this area, it will be at the Arlo.
- 5/5
Amazing staff, and overall a great experience.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly, hotel was very clean, and the surrounding area could not be beat. I saw all of NYC with no hassle bc of the incredible location 🙂 Unfortunately, my room was not cleaned the second night I stayed there which impacted the experience, but I would stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing, esp Al Shelton, they took good care by changing the room upon request simply because I wanted a better location. Mary’s Hubby
