Overall great experience, clean, friendly and professional staff. The hotel restaurant was great with a wide variety. Housekeeping did a great job and the front desk was excellent. I would definitely book this hotel in the future.

The shower was not very clean. There were two shower heads and we couldn't use the handheld spray because it was a little slimy and moldy. Room was kind of small for 3 people just because of there is nowhere to keep suitcases. I will say bed and pillows were really comfortable. Staff seemed confused but I think some of them were training

We arrived after midnight and bathroom was absolutely filthy. Had to change rooms at 1am which was less than ideal. Second room was clean but the entire situation ruined the experience. Elevators were also slow.

Clean, safe, convenient location. Would recommend it 100%. This was our first trip to NYC and it was amazing!

On the positive side, the location is good, within walking distance of a subway station and restaurants. The room was modern and a decent size by New York City standards. We were disappointed by the "river view" room. While there technically is a river view, it is only visible from one specific corner of the room. From the bed and most other areas of the room, the view is primarily of surrounding buildings. Our biggest issue occurred on the last day of our stay. We returned to the hotel in the evening to find that our room had not been cleaned. When we contacted the front desk, the situation was handled poorly. We were first indirectly blamed, being told that we may have left the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, which we had not. We were then told that the room had in fact been cleaned, despite this clearly not being the case. Eventually, a housekeeping team was sent to take care of it, but we had to wait in the room while they scrambled to find clean towels and make the bed. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of apology throughout the entire interaction. Overall, the hotel has a great location and comfortable, modern rooms, but the misleading "river view" description and the poor handling of the housekeeping issue left a lasting negative impression and unfortunately overshadowed what could otherwise have been a pleasant stay.

After my third time staying in this hotel, I decided I love it. The staff welcomes you every time you walk in the door. The clean rooms feel inviting and offer a view of the East River if you choose. It’s a comfortable hotel that offers relaxation, quietness, and sanctuary on your trip to the big bustling city.

This was my fourth stay here. It is near Pace University where my granddaughter just finished her degree. Staff always pleasant and helpful. My room was one that had a water view each stay. So lovely at night.

Room was clean staff was helpful and friendly and there was a lot to do around the hotel.

Perfect location for where we wanted (we travelled over to take part in the Parkrun) It was lovely to be away from the busy streets yet still lots going on, just a bit quieter which was nice. Staff very friendly and helpful, we had a slight issue with the lift but it was sorted straight away. Great hotel. Everything was lovely, no complaints at all

After being notified of our room being canceled at another hotel last minute, the AC was incredibly helpful in providing us a place to stay and was warm and welcoming. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the staff were superb. I would highly recommend this hotel in the Financial District of Manhattan.

The room was very clean and had a nice view. The area felt very safe. The only thing that was missing in the bathroom was a shower cap, but that’s a very minor detail. My day was very pleasant and I would definitely go back.

In addition, the bathroom facilities were not functional. Both the shower and the sink were clogged, preventing proper drainage. We made multiple requests for assistance, yet no one came to address the issue during our stay. This significantly disrupted our ability to prepare for departure, as we were forced to wait extended periods of time between showers for the water to drain. The handling of our checkout further compounded this experience. A staff member named Medina came to our door in an aggressive manner, banging loudly and accompanied by security, because we were fifteen minutes past checkout time. Her approach was unnecessarily confrontational and lacked the professionalism and courtesy expected in hospitality. This interaction was particularly disheartening and clearly reflects the standard that one would associate with AC Hotels. Overall, this experience was unacceptable. Due to the conditions of the room, the lack of timely support, and the unprofessional conduct we encountered, we would not consider returning.

Notable Mentions - nice sports bar around the corner Continental Sports Lounge- great lemon pepper wings. And a ton of TV’s. The hotel is right by the water if you like to walk. Funny Face Bakery CON’s- pillows are long and too soft/flumsy (for me) & (too firm for my wife ). Not so much a con - surrounded by tall buildings and scaffolding - good for summer, colder for spring/ fall/winter. Room is compact but modern. We would stay again.

First, there was not enough body wash provided, which was inconvenient. The WiFi also did not connect to the TV, and even after calling the front desk, no one was able or willing to help resolve the issue. The shower had a drainage problem and water would start flooding, so we had to rush through showers. Housekeeping was also below standard—the first cleaning was not done properly at all, with dusty floors and furniture still dirty. On top of that, the noise was constant. You could hear the elevators opening and closing all night, making it difficult to sleep. The pillows were also very uncomfortable and felt like they were falling apart. The iron in the room was not working either, which added more frustration during the trip. Overall, these issues made my stay less enjoyable and more stressful than it should have been. I expected a much better experience.

Check in was quick however the room keys wouldn’t work in the elevator and we ended up jogging down to the main lobby from the seventh floor upon our arrival to get the keys figured out. Turned out the elevator was the problem. We were told not to use that elevator again!

Very conveniently located for us in financial district. Not a very long walk to the subway (10 min). Express train to JFK was about 45 minutes and only cost about $12. Nice clean new room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Can't beat it for the price!

Check-in was quick and easy. The room was modern, clean, and definitely on the fancier side. The shower was excellent, especially with the marble tiles, and the bed was soft and comfortable. One upside/downside is that only one small bottle of water is provided per person each day, which may not be enough—especially since there isn’t an easy access to free drinking water nearby. The elevators are card-activated, which is great for security and helps reduce unnecessary traffic. I also appreciated the privacy option, although it’s still done with a paper door hanger. For a hotel at this price point, it would be nice to see a more modern, tech-based “Do Not Disturb” system instead of having to open the door and hang the sign manually. Overall, a very comfortable and stylish stay with just a few small areas for improvement. Unfortunately, there was no microwave available anywhere in the hotel for guests to use. The bathroom sink area was very small and did not provide enough space for placing skincare or personal items. Slippers were not provided. The bathroom door had no lock and was partially transparent, which affected privacy, as silhouettes could be seen. Even though our room was on a higher floor, there was also a small gap that allowed visibility from outside. The TV’s mobile device connection did not work properly, which was disappointing.

I like that the staff was extremely friendly and very kind. My daughter's have the same b-day so we came down to celebrate. I mentioned to the staff that it was my girls b-day and one of the ladies there gave my girls a nice gift bag with lots of goodies. She didn't have to but she did and for that we are forever grateful. The only thing this hotel missing, is a microwave

Location The shower did not work at all on night 1. on nights 2 and 3 it worked but the hot water in the entire building was out. on night 4, at 5:30am, a false fire alarm went on for over 10 minutes. worst stay in nyc in my life.

This was very disappointing, particularly because there is nothing else to do inside the hotel and no other place to get a drink on-site. If a hotel offers a bar as an amenity, it would be reasonable to expect it to stay open until at least 1:00 or 2:00 AM. Overall, while the location and cleanliness are strong points, the lack of basic services and limited availability significantly impacted the experience.

We had a view of the East River and Downtown. The room wasn’t very big but it was clean. I understand most NYC hotel rooms aren’t large. We have a family of 4 so we had two beds. The room was clean and smelled nice. I thought the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and shower was plenty spacious. There’s not a lot of room for luggage but we made do. We weren’t in the room much anyway. We just slept there as we were out in the city all day and only returned back at night. I thought the location was convenient to some close attractions like the Statue of Liberty and 9/11 Memorial and Museum. We also felt safe which was important to me. It was also convenient to a couple of subway stations. Overall I would stay there again and thought it was a good value, especially at Christmas when NYC hotel prices are very high.

Staff was super friendly helpful. Everything was great except they did maintenance on hot water line one day we were there. There wasn’t any notice. Air and brown liquid was coming out of the sink and shower. Had to run it for about 15 minutes to clear it out. I understand maintenance, but would have been nice to be notified so we could plan ahead. I’ll tell the central located., clean, and quiet. No microwave in the room.

I also appreciated the large shampoo and body wash bottles in the shower. One small note for future guests: our room was listed as “River view,” but it was more of a partial/side view of the river. Hotel in the middle of a renovation room smelt of paint fumes. Tv didn’t work and air filter needed replacing. Hotel could only give a breakfast voucher for the buffet where the toaster didn’t work. I feel Expedia should offer me a credit. Let’s see if they do the right thing.

Staff friendly nice accommodating and offered suggestions on sight seeing for our one night stay. The hotel is in nice area but farther than anticipated to Rockefeller center and Christmas decorations. Took express line 10 min stop. Safe area

Clean yes, but I paid for a river view. The location of the bed looks out at the building next to me. Poor planning of the bed not looking out at the river.

I got stuck in the elevator and firefighters had to come get me out. Toilet got clogged and heat was not working. Will never come back to the AC Hotel

We understand that what happened with the elevator was not your fault, but being told “your room is ready, you just have to go up 26 floors with 6 suitcases” was unacceptable. We had to change in the bathroom, without being able to take a shower, and we checked in at 11 p.m. We should have been compensated for all the inconveniences. I would not return to the hotel and I would not recommend it.

Front desk staff were first rate, however, the cleaning crew were not as diligent. We had to ask the front desk to have our room cleaned at 4 pm., and toiletries were not refilled on another day.

I had a great stay at the AC Hotel by Marriott New York Downtown. The location is perfect, close to the waterfront and within easy reach of restaurants, shops and subway stations. The room was modern, clean, and well-designed with all the essentials. Staff were professional and friendly, always ready to help with local tips. The overall atmosphere was calm and comfortable. Definitely a great choice for both business and leisure travel.

Details, details, details. There were sime (minor) damaged and missing hardware around the room. These were in obvious locations. The roomwas clean, so that tells me that the staff obviously noticed and a decision was made to NOT address these items, but rather rent the room anyway. Details: the coffee cup lids did not fit the coffee cups, i had to go downstairs to the restaurant to get a to-go cup with a proper lip...and sleeve. The sweetener was solidifed, and obviously old. Details: all of the clothing hangers were mismacthed, which i thought odd, and gave the impression of a 2 star property or a bnb. Details: the case to the tv remote was broken causing it to constantly fall off exposing the batteries. Details: the room would benefit from dimmers for the lights...though i realize that is not a staff, but a design issue. Overall the stay was fine, it was a great location for the reason of my visit. Many of these items would typically go unnoticed, especily for just a couple night. I guess the thinking is "this is new york, the room is going to rent out anyway, so why spend time or expense concerning ourselves with fixing anything".

Modern luxurious hotel. Service was top tier. Whatever we needed to make our stay comfortable they did. Also, concierge had great recommendations for food and shopping. You won’t be disappointed.

My stay at AC Hotels was excellent, thanks in large part to the front desk staff—especially Kevin. He went above and beyond to make me feel at home, always addressing me by my last name, offering helpful advice on where to find items, and warmly greeting us each time we entered or exited. The hotel itself has great amenities, a very comfortable bed, an in-room fridge, and a lovely view of the river. Kevin’s professionalism and genuine care made the experience truly memorable.

Other than parking offsite that's $65 plus tax but reduced to $54 after they apply the discount when you show them business card from the hotel front desk. My room was water view. Clean, fast elevators. Nice bed, modern room and bathroom. I liked it.

I stayed only 1night but the location was great, close to pretty much all good spots and the view is great. I also had a corner view and the hotel is clean.

Helpful and friendly front desk staff. Room and property were very clean, however room was a bit smaller than expected. There was a small fridge in the room for beverages. Although microwaves aren't in the rooms, I did expect one to at least be somewhere on the property to rewarm food deliveries. The buffet breakfast was good, but not quite worth the $30 per person charge in my opinion. Parking is offsite, but only a short walk from the hotel. All that said, I'd definitely still stay at that location again.

Very nice hotel.. the outside was a little hard to find because it’s in an alleyway. But still an amazing job by Marriott, and will recommend to any tourist in NYC!

If you go with the hotel's parking partner ($52/24hrs) just know you'll haul your luggage for a 5min walk.

I loved the view and how spacious the room was, this was probably the nicest hotel I have stayed at. Only issue I had was that the mini fridge was making a noise throughout the night and in the morning I noticed that there was a lot of condensation on the front of it from the inside. But a very very minor issue. I’m just a really light sleeper. Other than that, truly a perfect hotel and I will definitely be back.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A CAR!!! They do not have parking onsite and their recommended sites in this area are all valet only ($60 to $96 overnight) and almost 100% full all the time. Expedia falsely claimed in their website there’s onsite parking. I drove around for 90 minutes in the area with zero success. I ended up finding a place 25 minutes away and took a uber back to the hotel. This happened on a Friday night. I would not recommend this place if you need parking

The hotel is wonderful. Very clean and accommodating in a very good area because I like to stay in the financial district. It was very busy when we first checked in, but after that, everything was wonderful.

I had a great stay here. Lovely modern hotel with friendly staff. It was my first solo trip and I felt very safe and comfortable as a solo traveller. My room had a lovely view of the water, large ceiling to floor windows and all the facilities I needed.

Would have been nice to know that there was a charge for the breakfast. I had to pay 20 for a yogurt and glass of orange juice. I was under assumption breakfast was included. Nobody told me

THE BATHROOM LEAKED THE WHOLE TIME HAD TO KEEP REQUESTING TOWELS AND SMELLEDOF URINE HORRIBLE STAY.

My only drawback was the parking situation. While the hotel offers “off-site” parking, it’s not within a reasonable walking distance, which made it inconvenient at times. That said, if you’re looking for comfort, hospitality, and a prime location, this place is a fantastic choice.

Check in was very quick and pleasant. The young lady that checked us in was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with our questions about the hotel and area. Our room was a small unit with a wonderful shower. And it was just what we needed for a quick stay. The view was wonderful.

Comfortable bed…crisp white bed linens. Very quiet. Housekeeping forgot to refill the coffee bar, but the desk was very responsive with replacements. Very pleasant location close to the river.

Management kept coming to my room about a leak and management refused to change me to another room.

I really liked everything about this hotel, even though other people's reviews made me hesitant at first. I don’t expect everything to be perfect, and the only thing it lacked was a microwave—which wasn’t a big deal.
