Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the excellent location, friendly staff, and clean rooms, but expressing dissatisfaction with the small room size, misleading photos, and various issues with amenities such as air conditioning and water pressure. Some guests also report problems with accessibility, noise, and overcharging.
- Excellent location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small room size
- Misleading photos and issues with amenities
- 5/5
Convenience location! Close to the Central Park and Broadway theaters! Spacious suites for a family.
- 3/5
Great location; boutique hotel with limited amenities.
- 3/5
The picture they used to show Central Park is fake and we booked the room on that basis but had no view at all. Very disappointed.
- 5/5
Room was very small but that was fine, it was clean. Valet was a bit pricey for one night but it is NYC. I love the later checkout time.
- 5/5
Room, staff and location was awesome!
- 5/5
Would love to stay there again next year .
- 5/5
Hotel was close to everything Nash bagel Starbucks across the street was mall Central Park subway stations. Hotels conditions were great. The elevators were a little slow, however no complaint after a long day of walking in New York City.
- 5/5
Very good, exactly why?
- 5/5
Great location . Building old bar rooms are nicely
- 5/5
Excellent location, friendly staff, modern room and bathroom.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 4/5
The house cleaner was excellent
- 5/5
The towels were clean but quite scratchy. An on-property gym would be great. Otherwise love the location.
- 5/5
Did not eat at hotel
- 5/5
Quiet, clean and great location. Will stay here again.
- 4/5
Our bed didn’t have a top sheet or duvet cover on it and our room wasn’t serviced the day after we arrived. The water pressure was so high, we were afraid the pipes might burst. The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom and soaked the toilet paper. Great location, however.
- 1/5
This hotel was absolutely disgusting the mattress has stain the bedroom was really old nothing like the photos that you see when you do the reservation for the money that I pay was over $2000 per one night is really disgusting never going back
- 3/5
This is not a four star property. It’s a great location for being close to the park, but that’s where things end. The rooms are dim, the finishes are aged, and they’re no where near as spacious as the photos show. We booked two suites, neither had the balconies promised. There are little to no amenities besides soap and lotion. It was overpriced for what the rooms delivered.
- 3/5
The room was great but the water did not stay hot. The shower water would be hot, then go in and out throughout the shower. At one point, it was cold. I don't believe the hot water heater can accommodate several rooms showering at the same time.
- 1/5
A dated property with a musty odor. The hotel looks nothing like the photos. Instead of a modern room with park views, I got a dated, smelly room overlooking ventilation equipment and a wall covered in bird droppings. The hallways were dark, the elevators felt old and worn, and the noise insulation was practically nonexistent—you could hear every door opening and closing and people walking through the hall at all hours. Very disappointing and not at all what was advertised. Felt completely misled.
- 3/5
Clean room, great location
- 2/5
The room was relatively clean, but the window to our room was broken and leaked cold air in all night - we were travelling with a 4 month old so this was less than ideal. The curtains were also fault and wouldn’t close all the way so we were subject to the bright lights of the city, as well as the cold air and noisy streets. There was no hot water for showering either. For $400 for 1 night, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
- 5/5
I always enjoy my stays at 6 Columbus!
- 5/5
Great location. I had a cosy small room as I was traveling alone. Very quiet. Almost overslept the first night! I asked the front desk staff to wake me early the next (final) morning. And they sure did, making sure that I got out of bed to be on time for my 7 AM appointment!
- 5/5
I didn’t get startled in the middle of the night once when a neighbor let his door slam shut at 1am. Otherwise it was a very clean and quiet property. Super easy check in/out and I LOVED the heated bathroom floor.
- 3/5
Housekeeping and staff very friendly and helpful. Room with very few outlets and seemed dark. Very little counter space in bathroom. Entrance could use a ramp, had to navigate a few stairs with heavy suitcase.
- 3/5
Unfortunately we had no hot water on day two of our stay - freezing cold shower. Plus
- 4/5
The hotel was decent, boasting a fabulous location and large rooms. The bed was comfortable but the furniture has seen better days. We enjoyed breakfast at the bagel place next door. Overall it worked well enough.
- 2/5
Do not stay here. The hotel and rooms look NOTHING like the pictures - this is legitimately false advertising and I'm not sure how they get away with it. The location cannot be beat but it's genuinely not worth the terrible amenities and experience. The rooms are extremely small, akin to a pod hotel. We paid for the "Superior Room" with a King bed and there was barely room to move around the bed. The AC stopped working after the first night and the room got increasingly warmer after that. We had to take cool/lukewarm showers because the water NEVER got hot despite the extreme water pressure. Because the water shot out of the sink and showerhead like a fire hose, we were woken up frequently during the night by the plumbing when other patrons used their bathrooms. The restaurant in the lobby is fantastic and we do recommend visiting, though staying at another hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful but unfortunately this place is not worth your money.
- 5/5
Great spot, reasonably priced, very helpful staff.
- 5/5
We were 3 people, so the separate room for the pullout couch was very convenient. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. No coffeemaker, but Starbucks and Bagel Nosh right outside the door. Staff was very helpful. Yummy wings and bar open until 11pm after the show. Quiet and perfect location!
- 1/5
Overall, I would rate this a two star hotel I would definitely not return for the following reasons: the room was extremely small and the odor from the restaurant what comes through the row the room was also very very cold and the temperature adjustments could not be made. It was also very noisy if you’re looking for a simple hotel to great location this would be fine, but if you’re looking for something for a five star, definitely do not stay here. I based it on the reviews and is a far cry from excellent
- 5/5
Our housekeeper was excellent. The blue ribbon sushi restaurant in the hotel was excellent. We do wish we had a cold mini fridge for our leftovers. It was warm and full of items to purchase. Overall we had an excellent stay.
- 5/5
Thank You, I had a blast!
- 5/5
Great location and the rooms were clean.
- 3/5
Rooms are extremely small and a bit run-down. The location is very good, and the staff is superb.
- 3/5
Great location- nice enough staff that didn’t go out of their way to be terribly friendly- but good enough. Fairly quiet for the location of the hotel. The tiniest room we’ve ever stayed in. If you are traveling to mid Manhattan, and you just need a place to sleep, it will be fine.
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, super friendly staff.
- 1/5
The towels had a horrible smell, like strong chemicals. I couldn’t even dry my face with them because the smell stayed on my skin. The soundproofing was unbelievably bad. If you have an important meeting or exam coming up, do not stay at this hotel. You won’t be able to rest properly. I woke up several times because of people making noise, and then around 5 a.m., I started hearing strange sounds from somewhere outside. I complained to the staff, but nothing improved. The next day, the same thing happened again, so I looked around the room to find the source. When I opened the curtain, I realized the window faced a large wall outside the hotel, and there were pigeons there making the noise. It was dark, dirty, and disgusting around the wall. The noise problem was never solved during our stay. The hotel lighting was also extremely dim. Again, if you need to prepare for an exam or an important meeting, do not stay at this hotel. The environment is not suitable at all.
- 4/5
Old building. Attentive Staff, Great location. Small rooms, Somewhat too expensive for age, size, amenaties of the property.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Walking distance from the Lincoln Center, MOMA, Time Square and Broadway. Close to great French pastry shops. I highly recommend it!
- 5/5
Amazing location!!
- 3/5
When we ask for a bed to try to make it work with the kid they said ok it's an extra $70 a night... The location is amazing
- 5/5
Pros: Unbeatable location, decent price, reasonably helpful staff, very clean room. Cons: Hallways and public areas are in need of an upgrade; elevators are very slow. But on the whole I felt safe and comfortable during my stay.
- 4/5
Nice walkable area. Close to the subway
- 3/5
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and furniture need restoration. Bed was comfortable.
- 1/5
We had to change hotel Too much street noise the plants at the terrace are dying
- 5/5
Great room, location and service.
- 5/5
I will book here again
- 3/5
The room was large and spacious but poorly laid out and VERY poor lighting, the dresser was broken and in the small closet not allowing for hanging clothes. Only one bathrobe for 2. No extra towels. No bathroom counter space. Very outdated furniture and liquid stains! No extra toilet paper (2day stay we ran out) patio was nice. Food was good. Room was dirty. Spider on bed(live)! Our neighbor sneezed and it was if she was in our room! Not worth the money. They market based on location vs. amenities. This hotel is NOT ADA accessible! Large high steps to get in. No ramp, no handicap access doors no concierge. Not a great experience overall. Bonus: bagels to one side, Starbucks on the other. Oh NO microwave, coffeemaker, fridge is filled with their high priced alcoholic beverages and the fridge was barely cold. It barely kept my medication at the temperature it needed to be. Technically, I should get at least a 50% refund. Ps. Mold in bathroom and warm water in shower at best!!
- 5/5
Staff
- 3/5
Very nice staff, located across the street from Central Park. The Room was small and lacking a view however for our purposes it worked out well. The location alone was worth it!!!
- 4/5
Than being said I’ll come again
- 3/5
Towels are old. Furniture and condition of rooms lack maintenance. Hot water doesn’t always work. Could not adjust temp in one of the bathrooms. Not all the drapes cover windows. Nice staff.
- 2/5
The bathroom ceiling had a leak and got it my next day clothes wet (it was on top of the toilet tap).. by the looks of the ceiling it seemed to be pretty old. I informed the staff and they said “oh I am sorry… but at least it’s not in the bedroom hehe…” not what i expected to hear. I don’t think I’ll be staying here again.
- 4/5
Breakfast menu was small.
- 4/5
Location was the best. I liked staying but there was a strange smell in my room I couldn’t get rid of
- 4/5
It was fine for what we needed, but a bit run down. Halls very dark, window faced and AC machine
- 5/5
The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. Wonderful room. I will definitely recommend it and be back!
- 3/5
Small compact room but clean. Required to send a microwave in room multiple times and finally got one, but he cord was too short the staff said would send an extension but never comes, we finally didn’t use the microwave.
- 5/5
Clean, stylish room, helpful, friendly staff, great location. Will stay again
- 3/5
The location was great, the staff was very friendly. The room was small and lighting was limited.
- 2/5
Outstanding location but the premises were dated and the atmosphere very dark and unpleasant (not like the bright modern-looking pictures). The staff was very cordial and helpful.
- 5/5
Attentive staff, room cleaners- outstanding.
- 5/5
Just a great option near Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center. Star and rooms are great.
- 3/5
This is a budget hotel, very clean, fantastic location, renovated 5 years ago, grate two nights for the price. If you are a single person. rooms are small ,your closet is a furniture piece ,no desk, no side chair. If all you care about is sleep and shower it's great. Very dark I needed to use my phone flashlight at 1 am to use the elevator. FYI if you make a reservation by any hotel site like Expedia, kayak, etc and not straight to the hotel site all hotels are going to give you the least attractive room. ( 25 years of once a month renting a room for two nights for business from 30th st to 80 th street) ps very quite I should mention ! once more great price basic room.
- 4/5
Lobby is lackluster but the room was lovely and the staff was kind and helpful.

El aire acondicionado nunca funciono, llegamos tarde cansados y por eso decidimos dejarlo asi pero fue horrible. La habitacion y el hotel esta bastante en mal estado.
- 4/5
Great location! Very nice staff!
- 5/5
- 3/5
Some reviews said the rooms are dark, but that’s New York with all the surrounding buildings. The size of the room was large and the decor more mid-century which makes it darker. But NY is about the experience of the city not the amount of light in the room. The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms updated. The not so good: The safe in the room was not working. No coffee/tea in room. Decor with wood paneling makes the room darker.
- 3/5
I didn’t get checked in to well after 3pm and then slept in with no warning or knock they charged me 80$ late check out at 12:30 😂 no thanks
- 3/5
Hotel was adequate for one night stay. Location was good and room was clean.
- 3/5
Flush handle kept falling off the toilet. Sink drain would not empty. Hallway way to dark and scary. Wanted to like the place as it is convenient.
- 4/5
Great staff and location!
- 4/5
While the room wasn’t as lovely as the photos depicted, the location was more than excellent and the staff was amenable & friendly. I’d definitely consider staying here again.
- 3/5
Great place. Very chic, clean rooms, really nice- just not alit of amenities. No fitness room, no business center, small lobby. Just missing alot of amenities. Staff is awesome.
- 4/5
- 3/5
Staff was bit rude
- 4/5
Bar well stocked
- 4/5
Toilet was making a loud hissing sound when we checked in; staff did eventually come later in the evening to fix it but the interaction was awkward. Overall not a bad stay, but I wouldn’t consider this site luxury. Location makes it worth it!
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
Cute. Tiny spaces.
- 4/5
Smallish room and No coffee ☕️ in room
- 4/5
Ok
- 5/5
Can’t beat the location. We have kids so having Central Park right by the hotel was amazing. Lots of eateries around and staff were helpful. Overall we had a great experience.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Clean room. Good water pressure and temperature. Feels dark. Noisy rooms.
- 4/5
Didn't get breakfast. Clean room
- 5/5
Fantastic selection of the mini bar and proximity to fantastic restaurants.
- 3/5
Bathroom tub did not hold any water. Only the shower could be used. No refrigerator.
- 4/5
Staff was very courteous and the rooms are very clean too
- 5/5
The breakfast was amazing
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
Loved the location! Quiet, clean, friendly staff!!
- 3/5
Dark hallways bit of third world vibe.
- 4/5
Clean quiet room (no street view), roomier than some, staff attentive and helpful, good elevators. Lighting could been better designed: lobby and hallway rather dark, no light over desk area. Would have enjoyed morning coffee availability, outlet/charger closer to bedside table.
- 5/5
Last minute stay. Great location and nice room. Overall clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and friendly staff.
- 5/5
My second amazing stay at 6 Columbus. 6 Columbus is my go to hotel for a business trip or a trip with family, to NYC! Great location, great price points, and friendly staff. The rooms are great and immaculate.
- 4/5
The room was clean, small. The bathroom smelled like bleach and mold.
- 5/5
Perfect Location. Close to everything. Having the subway across the street is great. It was pretty quiet for being in such a busy section.
- 4/5
The staff is what makes the hotel. Everyone is great and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit dark. Would have preferred better ambient lighting. Our suite was huge by NY standards. They need complementary coffee in the room or lobby.
- 2/5
- 4/5
For NYC standards, this standard room was larger than expected. The bathroom is large and nice. The bed was a King sized and very comfortable. There was a small window with not much natural sunlight which was hard for me, but there was lots of different lights and adjustable lighting options in the room to make up for it. There was a speaker I could bluetooth my phone to for music. The refrigerator is an actual refrigerator; however it is full of drinks/food for purchase. There is one small closet and no drawers for clothes so I had to keep most of my clothes in my suitcase. There are two elevators in the building and I never had a problem quickly getting an elevator. There’s also a nice rooftop patio and bar. The hotel is very conveniently located next to Central Park and Washington Square for transportation needs.
- 5/5
The location could have been more perfect.
- 5/5
Super nice
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 2/5
Terrible small room. Not very clean and the TV was malfunctioning and heat would not break above 68. I’ll be booking elsewhere next NY trip

I would have normally rated this hotel higher if their photos on the listing weren’t deceptive. The exterior photo features a luxury high rise when the hotel is in a prewar building. Combined with their claim to be a 4.5 star hotel, this amounts to false advertisement of the property as a class of hotel it really is not. Rooms are nice and clean, staff is nice, and location is excellent. But all these factors don’t exonerate them from the fact that they are using false advertisement to charge a premium over other hotels that are similar in the area.

The front desk staff were lovely. The room was very clean and not at all too small. We did open trail mix from the minibar, and, though the expiration date was far in the future, the mix smelled and tasted a little rancid. I probably wouldn’t eat from the hotel packed minibar offerings again. There was so much booze, though, so if that’s your jam, you are going to love the minibar. There was good lighting in the room and bathroom, but the lobby was very dim. (I saw lots of reviews commenting on the lighting, so I want to reassure others that the rooms are fine.) The bed, bedding, and pillows were comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was shockingly good! The on site sushi restaurant was excellent, and we had both a yummy dinner and delicious American style breakfast there. I was disappointed that there was no breakfast room service because I had been led by other reviews to believe that there would be, but both my husband and I agreed that we’ll stay here again the next time we come in for a Lincoln Center date night or family outing.

Easy check in. Room was nice but there were burn holes and mysterious stains on the curtains. The bathtub was the main thing I was looking forward to and the handle fell off when I turned on the water and there was some nasty gunk under the metal piece to close the tub drain. The staff was very nice

Room was clean. In house restaurant was good. Location was great.
- 3/5
Staff was great! Loved the location. Loved my room. But the heat was not working and my room was 56 degrees inside. I'm from LA where it was 80 degrees when I left so this was a shock and no one offered blankets or solved the problem. And when I shared with the front desk the day I checked out. No apology for the inconvenience.
- 4/5
Great location close to everything
- 5/5
Very easy going hotel, comfy beds, great heating, great hot water, always a great stay
- 5/5
The room was your standard Manhattan hotel room. Relatively small, but well organized with no wasted space. It was clean and inviting. The walls seem to be a bit thin as every time the room next door shut their door it sounded like they were slamming our door. The area is nice. It’s about a block or so from Central Park. There is a metro station near by. Overall I’d give this hotel a 4.75 out of 5.
- 2/5
We wanted to love this hotel but the heat in our room broke and they wouldn’t move us. We had to ask four times for a space heater and were treated like a burden. It is mid January and snowing so not having heat, which didn’t seem like a bougie thing to ask for, was really hard. We were able to move the second night but even that was hard because they didn’t ask us- we had to go back and ask them again. The room was fine… other than the heat issue.
- 2/5
Wouldn’t stay again.
- 1/5
We already emailed the hotel. Very unhappy.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great Location for sure! We were able to go to Columbus Circle and Central Park in a few minutes. Time Squares are in walking distance as well.
- 4/5
Room was clean with lots of food and drink offerings.
- 4/5
The room was very small, which was no surprise because the photos were accurate. The room had two double beds, but no table or chairs. The closet was a small armoire. The main annoyance was the drinks and snacks left on he night stands and refrig. They were not free so were just in the way. There were three of us, so we're glad we stayed only one night. But we loved the location because we were in NY to go to the Metropolitan Opera. It was also next door to a Duane Reed drugstore and close to lots of eateries.
- 4/5
I was there for just one night, but the hotel was in a great location for attending a show at Lincoln Center. The front desk staff were lovely. My room was just right. Plenty big enough (but not BIG) for one person. Comfy bed. Bathroom was v. attractive with a great shower. Funky and equally good sushi bar and restaurant connected to the hotel. Price for my room was super reasonable...I'd be happy staying there again.
- 5/5
Great location good service
- 3/5
If you want coffee be prepared to request a pot or order from restaurant from room service. No in room coffee. The shower was close to water canon strength and towels were very thin.

- 2/5
My room did not have heat on one of the coldest weekends in NY. They provided space heaters. I was told it would be a few days before it would be fixed. I was only going to be there 3 days. I’m awaiting a decision on the matter. I think some adjustments are warranted on the cost…and I’m a senior!
- 4/5
No breakfast
- 1/5
The room did not match the photos online. I feel as though a crime was committed on me. I checked in and then checked out within 30 minutes because of the poor condition of the room and bed. However, I am still being charged $1,000. This is outrageous! $1,000 was stolen from me. The room was tiny and disgusting. The mattress was extremely worn out and felt as though it was over 20 years old. Do not stay here!
- 2/5
They took long and they made use wait 45 minutes more than the time we check in
- 3/5
Heat in room would go off in middle of night or during day. Insufficient accessible electrical outlets.
- 3/5
The hotel staff was very accommodating, nice and helpful! The ROOM was so small that 3 people could not pass one another at the same time. The view was a brick apartment building, and the furniture in the room was old, chipped and dated. For the exorbitantly high price point I expected much better. It was a huge disappointment to myself and the other guests in the room. I will likely never stay here again NOR would I recommend it. Not family friendly at all!!
- 5/5
Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was relatively spacious for a New York hotel. Lovely bathroom and courteous staff. The best part is the incredible location. Just a 7 minute walk to Lincoln Center and close to Central Park. We will definitely stay there again.

After 3 stays at this hotel over the past 6 months we will be searching for better options and value. The location is great but the hotel is dated and not worth the cost.
- 5/5
Sweet little hotel, staff was courteous.
- 3/5
It is a 3 star with 2 star service and 4 star prices.Great location
- 3/5
Very basic, was expecting a bit more from the hotel
- 5/5
Clean room. Great service.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, convenient and close to the park.
- 4/5
Great location near Central Park. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
We had a great experience. They were totally flexible with us when our original flight was cancelled. During our stay, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean.
- 3/5
The reception was rather perfunctory/ The person at the desk was preoccupied with something else on his computer and griping with a maintenance fellow about some other housekeeping issue: While likely of importance I think full attention always goes to the guests, especially in a > $ 500 / night hotel. Everything counts in a good hotel; guests come first ! ( It took almost 10 minutes to attend to us)
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean, nice room , great location
- 5/5
Amazing stay and amazing location! The check-in staff was so nice and so helpful! Large room, and I would definitely stay here again when in Manhattan!
- 3/5
It was the smallest room we ever stayed in, but cost us $400 a night. It was not bad, but very very small. They shouldn’t sell such rooms to 4 people.
- 1/5
Staff was neglectful and room didn't come with was expected and when they gave us a coffee maker the water came out black
- 5/5
The staff and location were terrific. We made the mistake of getting a room that was very small and lacks a desk. Will get a larger room next time as we loved the hotel.
- 2/5
The room was too small and loud, one side of the room was too cold. The bathroom didn’t have a ventilation or fan and the water pressure on the shower head was horrible and not adjustable. The location was the only good thing about the place, everything was in walking distance. The price of the parking was overpriced and also the extra $30 hidden fee charges each day was ridiculous and unreasonable and was never explained to me why I had to pay for those extra $30 hidden fees each day. I know that if you and your partner were to stay here for 3 nights and days you would understand why I am upset and writing this poor review. I’m not the person to make a seen and get mad in front of everyone about my bill and I would rather explain on the review that way everyone knows what they are in for before they pay or stay here. It just makes me upset to be scammed when it was my first time staying in New York, I was hoping to have a good experience but because of the hidden fees and bad experience I didn’t. The reason I put 2 stars was because of the location only.
- 4/5
Good stay all in all. Small room, bird crap all over the two small windows and a comforter had a stain on it......
- 4/5
All good. Thanks Gardy Weickert
- 5/5
Great people working here. Very pleasant and accommodating. Check in was very easy. The room is very nice. Very clean. Very close to the subway and different eateries and stores.
- 4/5
Great location to Central Park beautiful views. Older hotel but very comfortable.
- 3/5
Staff seemed disinterested. Overall appearance of hotel, both public areas and room, was run-down and shabby. Dirty laundry in trash bags were scattered about the hallway, and staff used the only large elevator to move trash bags at dinner time, leaving only one tiny (4-person max) elevator to service guests and leading to long delays. Room had no coffee machine. To call this a 3-star hotel would be generous.
- 5/5
Room was great and staff nice. The location is PERFECT!
- 5/5
Very clean, nice boutique hotel right on Columbus Circle. Great water pressure in the shower!!
- 3/5
No idea
- 4/5
Clean room, good location
- 3/5
downgraded to a small room - from king suite to double despite having a confirmation. No one called in advance to advise the situation. The manager Donna did provide a discount on the room but not without our inquiry and difficulty. We were told we could cancel without penalty!! She did not take the time to talk with us directly but instead called our room and was less than friendly. Situations happen but this was handled poorly. Bellman was very accommodating. Lobby and elevators are small. Although a very good location I would not recommend this hotel
- 5/5
Excellent location directly across the street from Columbus Circle subway station, nice room, helpful courteous staff... would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Our room attendant was amazing and this hotel is safe and very close to everything. The subway is across the street making it a great location for all your New York site seeing.!
- 2/5
Good location
- 5/5
good place - great location
- 5/5
Room was clean bed was very comfortable. It is a great location
- 1/5
I arrived in the morning for a medical procedure and even though my room was available they would not allow an early check in without paying extra.
- 4/5
clean room, surprisingly quiet for the area, great location.
- 5/5
This hotel is a little hidden gem just steps away from Central Park. The staff is very welcoming and they even let us check in early! The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay within walking distance to Broadway.
- 4/5
Clean and great location
- 5/5
Great room and front desk personnel is always hospitable
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly the room was a decent size for the city. Only thing I noticed was in the corners of the bathroom the tiles were not cleaned with soap residue very noticeable. And the bed was not the most comfortable thing in the world but again we were just there for the night so it did the job. We’ve stayed in a few hotels in the city and by far my favorite due to the size and set up of the room
- 3/5
The best part of this hotel is the location. The room is uncomfortably small and the furniture is out of date and not functional.
- 5/5
Very convenient and welcoming. Room was small (expected in a NYC boutique) but very comfortable, clean and charming. We did not eat at the restaurant but it seemed busy and popular. Will definitely stay at 6 Columbus Central Park again!
- 1/5
Waited over 2hrs
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 5/5
Consistently excellent stay for business travellers
- 5/5
Spotless room, small but very well equipped. Comfortable bathroom also spotless and up to date. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Fabulous location.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff was helpful. Nice Japanese Restaurant and Bar in hotel. Property in general was an older building. Price was a little high for the size of the rooms and general experience. Overall it was good. Plus it was in a good location near Columbus Circle and Central Park.
- 5/5
N/A
- 5/5
Interaction with gentleman at the front desk was efficient and pleasant at check in and check out. Room was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed my stay very much.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, good location!
- 5/5
Great place to stay in NYC. Great location.
- 4/5
just lack of staff to check out quickly - otherwise lovely stay will come again
- 3/5
Very dark. Everything is black from entryway to shower. For the price, they should supply 3 towels without asking. Bed was very squeaky which can be fixed. Room is pretty standard for NYC. Expected more for the price but oh well it’s New York. The location is great with easy parking in garage next door. Front desk staff were courteous and efficient.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great restaurant, perfect location
- 4/5
Bathroom ceiling leaked noticeably for 24 hours. Furniture doors would not close properly. Will not stay at hotel again
- 5/5
We stay here when we come to visit family in the city, and it’s becoming our ‘go to’ place for a clean and quiet place to stay at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and very small but if you don’t mind a double bed, they’re laid out well with plenty of room for clothing and toiletries, etc. Not a room you’re going to hang out in (no desk or chairs), and not much of a lobby, but if you want a nice place to park your stuff and lay your head, this is perfect (and better than others we’ve used in the area in this price range). The staff is polite and friendly, the location is terrific, and the price is good for Manhattan. We really like it and will return again and again.
- 2/5
The front desk staff was not nice the hotel is old and out dated
- 5/5
Great stay, room needs a kettle.
- 3/5
Room cleanness. Very limited amenities: no cotton pads, toothbrush, robe and slippers
- 4/5
The room was clean and beds really comfy. The only issue we had was some guests near us were constantly banging the doors which meant we had broken sleep :(
- 5/5
The hotel was clean, convenient. No fuss, nothing stood out, but for the area it was a good deal.
- 5/5
I was so comfortable and I loved the munchies store in my room. So convenient and delicious.
- 4/5
For its price, the hotel is excellent. The room is poorly lit, though, which is a bit depressing. But very clean, and the staff is nicely attentive. No free breakfast, and the bar attached to the hotel has only store-bought mini croissants and things like that. Best to go out and take a few steps to one of the many options nearby.
- 4/5
Second time staying here. Great location, convenient to train, shopping, dining, Central Park, and many attractions. Staff is excellent. Room could have been a bit cleaner, particularly floor. Bed was a bit below average. Clean bedding. Overall great value for location.
- 1/5
Nothing as described in pictures. Stay away for the price they charge.
- 2/5
The room was a bit shabby and needs a remodel (chunks of wood missing on the bottom corners of doors; door deadbolt lock not functional; no USB ports in the room; uncomfortable bed that creaks; narrow, dimly lit hallways; slow elevator; narrow shower/tub , and a shower curtain that wants to cling to you.
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff
- 5/5
Great location.
- 4/5
Nice hotel nice room, good location. Staff could not provide receipt on check out due to system issue. They confirmed- promised- to provide a receipt by email when possible. Never did. Having to call and this is inconvenient.
- 5/5
Great experience. Clean room. Comfy Bed. Great Pillows. Central Location. Bagel shop next door and great sushi restaurant in the hotel.
- 5/5
Tiny little comfortable room;) in the perfect location!
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. Room was small but comfortable.
- 5/5
- 4/5
Superb location
- 4/5
Decent hotel but a 3 star at best
- 5/5
The room was stylish and comfortable, including in-floor heat in the bathroom. The staff were kind and courteous to me and also to each other. One thing to watch out for: my shower had a lot of water pressure; with being in a hurry, I didn’t notice that the shower curtain was outside the tub, and a lot of water got out and onto the floor.
- 5/5
All good
- 4/5
Nice terrace
- 3/5
There was no cold air from the A/C. It was stuck on 74 the entire stay. The blinds don't close all the way so light comes in. Great location and very friendly staff.
- 5/5
From the online check in, ALL the staff, QUIET room, cleanliness, service, and check out process this hotel exceeds my expectations and I will come again!!!!
- 3/5
- 1/5
Speaking candidly, the room was disgusting
- 4/5
Room was clean, cute and roomy.
- 2/5
We got a room with a sofa bed and there was no mattress whatsoever so our daughter slept on a hard base the first night. We were told a topper would arrive the next day but apparently they had run out. Then after numerous calls we got a rollaway bed “dumped” in our room. We checked out early for another hotel. Pretty disappointed to say the least.
- 5/5
Clean. Quiet. And no need to use room key to get into elevator, very nice. Hotels that do that are pretentious
- 4/5
Great location
- 4/5
No breakfast...rooms a bit too small
- 5/5
Great location, excellent bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Great shopping nearby.
- 1/5
The carpet was dirty. The bathtub was stained. There was only a trash can in the bathroom. There was not even a complimentary coffee maker in the room. The AC did not work. There was audible and loud noise heard in the room throughout the night.
- 3/5
Staff responses was slow. For valet parking. Towel delivery & ice. Kept up on the line for very long.
- 5/5
Was comfortable and this hotel is really near from Central Park
- 2/5
There were towels stuffed in the vents above the shower. It has a window AC unit with a power cord across the room. The shower is very small.
- 5/5
Very clean, great restaurant in the hotel, fast and affordable roon service, felt like a safe and convenient location.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed many times and love the location, service, price and Neighborhood
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Love this hotel. It’s clean and convenient to shopping, restaurants and Central Park. The staff is always helpful.
- 3/5
Terrace was nice
- 5/5
It is a 3 minute walk to Central Park near the circle by Trump International
- 3/5
Very few electrical outlets. Very small rooms. Beds were comfortable. Kind of a janky air conditioning unit in the window, with a power strip hanging from it to connect to the outlet. The employees were all quite good - great housekeeping, helpful maintenance guy, lovely server in the bar, nice to have doormen. The bagel place next door is fabulous, but the line is unbelievable Order online and early! Great location for subway, Central Park, mall across street, CVS and Walgreens one block away. Relatively quiet in the rooms.
- 3/5
Staff were friendly, but it's clear thos hotel is short staffed. Fresh towels will take quite a while. The hotel felt like it had seen better days. The art in our room was taped together, the overhead light shade was torn. Our tv remote didnt function properly. The hotel is serviceable, but I would not stay again.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, and for the price was really nice - in the heart of the city
- 4/5
The room is small but it was great for a quick overnight business trip. You can’t beat the location, it’s walking distance to a lot of must-see places in New York but quiet enough to get some rest.
- 3/5
Rooms are exceedingly small-not
- 5/5
Great location with a helpful/ friendly staff. Loved my room. I would definitely stay here again :)
- 4/5
The staff was EXCEPTIONAL So friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for our needs.
- 3/5
it was ok
- 5/5
Great night stay! Spacious room. Staff was great, especially cleaning staff.
- 3/5
Location was great, however, for the price, the room was a bit claustrophobic and we had some issues with the AC (which was fixed) and the mini fridge (which wasn’t working).
- 5/5
Great location and staff was fantastic
- 5/5
We had a great stay, the bathroom had some issues with the shower getting water all over, but other than that it was perfect for what we needed.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
It was ok but the person who checked me in was very non-communicative. I wasn’t clear on the floor I was staying or where to get ice. It was not one of the best hotel stays that I have had.
- 2/5
Bad hotel
- 4/5
We have stayed at 6 Columbus a few times now. We love the location in the city and its proximity to the park. The rooms are on the tight side but this is a small hotel compared to others. The room is always clean and the service is friendly.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Nice location but not a very nice hotel, at least I do not recommend room 56, and assume that the problems with this room likely afflict others. Room was tiny. The refrigerator didn’t work nor did the microwave. The shampoo and body wash pumps did not work. Worst was the noise on both sides of bathrooms in adjacent rooms. The staff were extremely nice, but overall it was not a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
This property was amazing. Staff was very friendly. The location is perfect!
- 5/5
Had a great stay at the central 6. Everything was good. Our AC went out on the third night but when we let them know they moved us to a different room and it had an even better view. Great experience overall!
- 5/5
Proximity to shops and central park
- 3/5
On the plus side: convenient location, very quiet, very clean. The housekeeping service was excellent. Negatives: the lighting, both in the lobby and the room, was less than effective. The lobby was so dark that coming in from outside, we had to feel around for the elevator buttons. The bathroom lighting was all but useless; the backlighting on the mirror was attractive, but meant that you couldn’t see your face. The bedroom lighting was dim. The shower head sprayed like a fire hose, but at your head and the windowsill. To rinse the bottom of your body, you had to use the faucet instead. There were no prices on the mini bar items. In short, decor and “vibe” were clearly prioritized, but comfort and convenience were not.
- 5/5
First time in NYC and couldn’t have stayed in a better property in this area. I would stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Doesn’t look like the photos on expedia
- 3/5
I didn't realize the building was on W. 58th. I thought it was across the street or on the circle. I'm very tired of paying $300/night for a room that has a window overlooking an air shaft. At first, I didn't even see the window shade. It was a depressing room even though it was clean. And the sink was backed up. Took about 5 minutes to drain. They think they are upscale charging $75 for a small bottle of tequila and $15 for water, but they are not. They're just another hotel that charges ridiculous amounts. I'm from Manhattan and have been in dozens of hotels over the years. This was one of the most depressing for the price range.
- 4/5
A couple Of little things-shower curtain was ripped. A little grout problems. In general hotel was great
- 5/5
Love this property. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. So convenient to Central Park and shopping. Easy walk to Times Square area too!
- 5/5
Amazing, quiet, easily accessible stores.
- 5/5
Room was large compared to other hotel rooms in NYC. Bed was comfortable and hotel was conveniently located next door to my daughter.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the mini bar was well stocked. I was only here for a night but I will be back.
- 5/5
Great sushi restaurant in the lobby. Close to Central Park and the room is clean and nice. Walk in shower
- 4/5
The room was great. I was happy to stay in my room from check-in until I left in the morning.
- 4/5
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. It hurt!
- 5/5
In addition to a prime location in a clean, affordable hotel, the staff was awesome!
- 5/5
Excellent staff, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are small but comfortable. Love the soap selections Improvements Property is a bit older and could use some upgrades.
- 5/5
The rooms are very small, but everything you need is in them, including a well stocked bar with snacks if you so choose to indulge. There is a bar downstairs which I didn’t go to, I believe there is food available for room service and at the bar.
- 5/5
Very good
- 1/5
no a/c in summer...bad
- 3/5
Our room was tiny and our window looked into an inner courtyard. Upgrade options were expensive. I understand it’s Manhattan and most options are a shoebox, but this was very tight. Staff also wasn’t very pleasant upon check in.
- 5/5
This is a perfect location to stay in Manhattan. Central Park is a very close walk, main subway stations are nearby. And the Hotel itself is great.
- 3/5
never staying back there. Too dark. Tried to be hip. no coffee in room, no gym, real small, boutique hotel.
- 5/5
Would stay again!
- 4/5
loved our stay in this excellent location. only drawback: room 32 had a view of the garbage chute & was dark. otherwise everything was perfect!
- 5/5
Everything
- 2/5
We paid for an upgraded room that we did not receive. The staff were incredibly rude from the start and unhelpful. We asked for robes and towels to 4 different concierges before giving up. Not at all a “luxury hotel”. Would only stay here as a last resort. Do not recommend.
- 4/5
Great location, great bagel shop next door. Comfy bed and great shower.
- 2/5
AC barely worked, if you wanted AC you couldn’t close the drapes! So I had light coming in a dawn…super small room! It was for double occupancy and it was very uncomfortable. The location is the only good thing!
- 4/5
Great location near Central Park and many good restaurants. Room was comfortable if a little small.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
Perfect location near Lincoln Center and Central Park
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Decor and lighting are dark. Excellent desk staff. However, the photos of the rooftop terrace are misleading. The terrace is just a small deck with a limited view.
- 3/5
Only thi g i dod not like is not being able to leave pet in roon unattended. I get it but my dog is a travel pro and bothers no one. We always put up the do mot disturb.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and nicely furnished. For a Manhattan hotel both were nice sizes. The bar upstairs and the lobby were a little worn but still fine. They could use better lighting in the lobby elevator hall. It was very dim. I would stay here again. Very convenient location.
- 3/5
The room was not very well lit. The whole place needed better lighting. The only hotel without a coffee pot or coffee available
- 4/5
The bed was super comfortable- specifically the pillows. I don’t know if it’s every room but the AC in our room was a window unit, which was fine but we were in a heat wave. Of course when we pulled the shades (so we didn’t wake up with the sun) it blocked the AC. I also didn’t love that the fridge was stocked with stuff to purchase because I would have loved to put my own drinks and leftovers in there but nothing else would fit. However, the noon checkout, the friendly staff, the cleanliness, all made the experience great!
- 5/5
The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The room was a bit small and the bed was very firm (I prefer softer beds), but other than that, I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you 6 Columbus staff for making my stay enjoyable.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Great location
- 3/5
The photo on line at Hotels.com is Deceptive. The hotel is not modern and bright as shown. It is quite the opposite. It is dark, narrow and dingy.
- 5/5
Very clean, felt safe, the location was perfect, the bed was comfy. That all I need
- 2/5
Not what it appears in the picture, there was a cockroach in a bathroom, and there were 100 alcohol bottles in the room.
- 5/5
This hotel was super convenient to Columbus Circle, Central Park and tons of dining options.
- 1/5
Bathroom faucet kept falling of The view to the window was a bunch of trash between buildings
- 3/5
Location was perfect! Across from Central Park and a short walk to the theatres. The rooms were quite small and nothing as luxurious as the photos portrayed. Comfortable and clean. Bathroom had no shelves for our toiletries and vanity mirror was almost higher than my height.staff wiremen nice!
- 4/5
Great location for a good hotel at a goodbprice
- 5/5
GREAT STAY
- 3/5
The elevators are small, but efficient. There were only two outlets in the room and neither was near the bed. The lighting in the room is very dim.
- 5/5
I’m staying there for 25 years. Incredible people great location a true Manhattan boutique Hotel.
- 3/5
Your website said the price quote was all I was to pay, however that was a lie I owed more at the hotel , not good !
- 5/5
All good, perfect nyc retreat
- 5/5
Great location close to subway and cab stand. Very walkable area
- 4/5
Rooms were nice
- 4/5
The staff were the highlight of this hotel. Such friendly, highly responsive and helpful people. The housekeeping staff also was so kind and communicative. This location is hard to beat and it’s surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. We walked everywhere—from the park to museums, shows and restaurants easily and safely from the hotel.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable… and the front desk clerk’s were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We loved staying for our honeymoon!
- 3/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Location great. Clean and comfortable bed. Halls too dark in the rooms a bit small. No chair if you have to do work but they did bring a folding chair.
- 3/5
Not a 4 star hotel - not sure how they achieved
- 4/5
Such nice staff
- 5/5
I always get to enjoy when I stay here, it was quite and refreshing to be able to rest and enjoy the area this time.
- 4/5
Room was a typical size for NYC about the same size as soho grand . Bathroom was new , bed mattress wasn't the most comfortable but for 2-3 nights would be fine. Room was clean however I could hear when the room next door shower went on.
- 1/5
Hotel looks like no one has invested a penny in it in 20 years. Window was literally held together with duct tape. A/C didn’t work. Staff was great though.
- 4/5
Great location. Quiet at night.
- 3/5
It was a good stay in the hotel. Very convenient location to Central Park and shopping. The rooms are dark and the lighting was not great. The bed and bath is renovated hence it’s ok. Does not have a gym or swimming pool so very basic hotel.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 3/5
We only had two towels. No bath mats.
- 5/5
Service excellence
- 5/5
This hotel is one block from Central Park and so convenient to restaurants. The room was clean and very nice.
- 5/5
Honestly, you won’t be mad. Prefect location.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
- 5/5
Great place with very friendly staff. Great location. Room is comfortable with good ac. Bar available in the room and a nice restaurant downstairs.
- 4/5
I loved the location in midtown across from a mall and close to central park. The hotel was clean and quiet with great restaurants around. The room was small but that is to be expected. The bed was uncomfortable which is my only complaint.
- 4/5
It was good in general, maybe its just that you hear everything around your
