Property and amenities were great. Staff superb. The rooms are older but have been maintained, updated and clean. Great place to stay in New Market.

Shenvalee is in a beautiful setting and golf course. Get the second floor with the Mountain View if possible.

Found this resort by accident and it was a total God Wink. It was exactly what we were looking for and loved it. Golf course was fantastic! We will be coming back at least twice a year on our trips back and forth from Florida to New York.

I loved being able to see the mountains and the gorgeous views.

Beautiful and very scenic

The location was perfect to explore sights which included Luray Caverns, New Market Battlefield and Skyline Drive. After a long hot day of sight-seeing the swimming pool was very refreshing. Filter in the A/C should be checked.

Breakfast was very good. The coffee was too weak. Coffee should be stronger. Toiletries could have been added in bathroom.

The location is good, I like something far way from the city or town. Clean, good view. out of date, facilities not enough, smell bad like old motel, rather than a resort supposed to be. not worth money I paid.

The staff from the front desk to the restaurant were great. Place has some age on it but it is kept in great condition. Great location near JMU where my son goes. The views from our golf side unit were awesome. Food great! Shower head needs replacing. That’s it.

My room was terrible, it was on a side entrance near ice machine which mad noise all night plus the dehumidifier running all night was hard to listen too, and the mattress was horrible, im sure a got a room that was not upgraded yet, but i paid the upgraded price anyway

Not there for golf, so did not spend much time on the property. Swimming pool was out of order, although they did offer passes to the town pool. Nice view of the golf course. Miller’s restaurant had pleasant staff. Only ate breakfast there, but lunch/dinner menu looked adequate. Bed seemed a little too soft.

The air blows right onto the bed to the person laying on that bed is constantly getting air blown on them

Room was as expected, resort has some age so not a lot of moderization. Bed had foam matteress which wasnt the most comfortable I've slept on. Also drain in tub/shower didnt work well and ended up in ankle deep water by end of taking shower.

I like the room, the staff is great. Start cutting grass 5:30 AM in the morning next to my window until the time I left arounf 10:00 AM. Very annoying.

Pretty view No bathroom amenities except 1 bar of soup. A small coffee maker without coffee. The stairs closest to the room were rusty old metal stairs that began in the dirt. The outdoor area outside the room had cracked concrete. There was one small bottle of Kirkland water that had already been opened.

The bed was not comfortable and the grounds keeper running the leaf blower on the golf course.

The best part was the restaurant on the property everything was really good

The room was relatively large but had a peculiar odor. It would be nice if there was a screen on the patio door to allow the option of letting in fresh air. There were wasps swarming around the patio, so I did not feel comfortable leaving the door open to get air.

The property was very nice and we had a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. The breakfast and the grill was not included, but reasonably priced and very good. Downside was road noise from I-81 that lasted into wee hours of the morning. Microwave in the room would have been nice to reheat our leftovers.

Clean and comfortable hotel. These are older 1960s style hotel but clean. There was a dehumidifier in our room that ran and we emptied lots of water during our stay. Both my husband and I felt like our skin was dried out but we also aren’t used to the cooler temps we encountered this week here. No shampoo in rooms so make sure to bring your own. Very quiet in the back area where we stayed and that was what we wanted. All in all I would stay there again. New Market is a good location to get to many things I. The area. We enjoyed some good hikes while we were here.

The three 9-hole golf courses are scenic and well kept. Some of historic Resort’s hospitality features are renovated and other facilities are being upgraded. Friendly staff and goodwill in the surrounding Shenandoah Valley Quintessential Virginia small town.

Everything was excellent, 1st time staying there. Bed was perfect, Pillows very comfortable. Front desk personnel was very friendly and helpful. Will probably stay again in October.

Very nice area attractions close by. Rooms are a bit dated and could use an update. Staff was attentive and pleasant. If your looking for some kind of night life this isn't the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend a microwave as others do and a keurig or better coffee. But other than that our stay was wonderful and look forward to coming back

Extremely friendly staff with a delicious bar / Restaurant on site. The room was very simple, but extremely clean. I will say being a golf resort, It was quite the morning with golfers right outside our door. However I’d definitely stay again

The room was spacious, but the beds are on the hard side and I had a sore back in the morning. The bathroom was ok and also needs updating and some deep grout cleaning. We were greeted politely and the front desk receptionist was very helpful. The room was very clean. The restaurant connected to hotel was wonderful as well.

Internet is not working in the room. Called the desk and they don’t know or care to figure out how to reset it. We needed to join work meetings and were unable to do so.

I was pleasantly surprised by Shenvalee. The room was basic, but spotless and beds very comfortable. The only thing missing from the room was a microwave. Having a full service restaurant on site made my stay even better! Great food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Looking at past reviews, some would say it was outdated. Who cares!!! This was the CLEANEST room I have stayed. Everything was perfect, not a flaw in sight! Beds were comfortable. Bedding was soft. Towels were thick. Service was impeccable!! I could not ask for anything more. I will definitely be staying there again!!!

The BEST staff we have ever experienced. Went out of their way to accommodate us stopping in to get out of a violent storm with tornado warnings. The kitchen staff stayed on the feed us. The food was very good and much appreciated. We made new friends and will definitely make this a regular stop while traveling in the future.

Very nice rooms. It was clean, everything worked as it should. It was raining the evening we arrived, so unfortunately we did not get to use the pool. The grounds are beautiful, with the mountains as a backdrop. Lots to do and see in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

I was a little concerned when I saw that it was an older motel even though the outside of the motel and the grounds looked great. I was very pleasantly surprised when I walked into our room. It was so neat and clean. I was very impressed and enjoyed our stay.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. I had requested mountain/golf course view (beautiful) but instead our rooms had pool view (green pool, ugly chain link fence). We ate dinner and breakfast in the on site restaurant. Good food, wonderful service, reasonably priced. Fun to watch the golfers. All in all a pleasant stay.

What a beautiful property to stay on! The facility was great, clean and fit our needs quite nicely!

All the local hotels were full due to a local event. This golf resort had a cancellation. We don't golf but it was nice to wake up to the view of the golf course and mountains. Staff were awesome. Very clean. A little dated but added to it's charm. Best customer service of my whole trip.

Old, tired and musty/moldy smell. Honestly cannot understand the high rating on this place unless you are looking for male dorm atmosphere with golf onsite. Paper thin walls - you easily hear people talking in room next door. Dehumidifier in room but still very musty smelling. Golfers smoking cigars and cigarettes outside door so you have to see/smell that.

The only complaint I have is I wish they had microwave so when I brought in food I couldn’t eat I could heat it up later other than that it was a pleasant stay.
