If you're cool with dirty towels and a floor you can't walk on without shoes, it's fine.

My go to spot. Not luxury, but it's convenient for me to walk and pick up my car from storage on base. Staff is always available. It's my stop between my home The US and my home Mexico!

Non-smoking room, reeked of smoke and cigarettes. They bed covering was burnt with cigarette holes, roaches in room, loud noise from the traffic. Thin walls can hear people in the next room talking, feels shady like you have to watch your back. And hookers coming in and out of the hotel working. Place is a dump.

Quick stop, met our needs at a decent price and friendly staff.

Had to check out early cause the toilet broke and didn’t receive any compensation. Management told me they didn’t any rooms to move to

Recent stay at National city motel - I want refund as the room was flooded at night . I spoke with the front desk manager and he didn’t have any rooms to offer

The room was stained of cigarette smell and there were cigarette holes in the sheets. There were also holes in the curtains patched up with duct tape and the floor felt dirty. I felt unclean sleeping in the sheets.

They did not have a smoking room. Every time we go there there is a smoking room. We loved it when they had one smoking room available. I still do not know if the owner changed the rules or if the smoking room not available. This place has always been pleasant. Having to go outside every 15 minutes is not my idea of a pleasant stay.

There were prostitution in the rooms, there was a guy trying to con people, room wasn’t clean daily when I brought to the attention of the management they said don’t worry they’re harmless and they didn’t even apologize . It was scary!!!!

Very unsafe, we had a crackhead stay next to us and screamed at the top of his lungs from 2am til 8am. Extremely dirty, didn’t even want to know all the body fluids and filth that were on the comforter. Room reeked of cigarettes and like it hadn’t been cleaned

Surrounding area feels unsafe. Afraid to walk to nearby eatery. Had to drive a block away to grab food in fear of getting mugged or stabbed. Would not stay hear again.

Probably a file photo from when it was new. Real condition is like 20 years later of the same and now frazzled on the edges. Would not stay here again. Surrounding area does not inspire confidence. Would not walk out to neighboring eaterys without feeling like you'd get mugged or stabbed, took car to go a block away.

Clean room with comfortable bed, fridge & good shower. Good free TV channels for sports & movies. Close to freeway but no traffic noise. Large mall with good restaurants, movies, etc 2 miles down road. Bsasic family owned, updated motel. Reasonably priced and staff was very friendly and accommodating. I’ve stayed twice and will return because location is close to hospitals.

Had to pay $20. for early check in, horrible customer service, the room I was assigned was not ready(unmade bed,dirty towel, they gave me another room. Fridge was not clean,the toilet broke had to be repaired. Homeless loitering and digging in dumpster, prostitutes in front of property loitering. I spent the nights looking out for my car. Still horrible customer service.

it clean, man who checked me in was really nice. it is a older property but seems well maintained but the room did have a old closet smell, nothing a few blasts of fabreeze could not clear up. it is a economy hotel so must put things in perspective.

I have stayed a various hotels/motels in the past weeks while searching for a place to rent. National City Motel was by far the worst, and that's saying something. My room wreaked of odor, possibly because at one time it had been a smoking room, which I didn't know still exists, but does at this motel. I could not get really hot water in the shower when I arrived, but somehow did in the morning. The bed did not smell fresh and I found stains on the sheets. This caused nearly non-existent sleeping. The whole place was uncomfortable. I would have left and asked for a refund but your website says my money is not refundable once you confirm. A waste of money which I wish I could recoup with a refund.

I had a wonderful stay. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, and comfortable. The location was great! with plenty of stuff just a short walk away. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

What I like is that it is a simple cozy place. Not much to ask and that's why I like the price. The dislike, near the highway street where certain women walk the night and day street if you know what I mean.

There was roaches in my room and they said no refund and it’s making you guys look bad for doing business with these people. The manager tried to blame me for “bringing” the roaches but then I see on yelp that I wasn’t the only one who has gone through this. He basically stole $100 from me I couldn’t even sleep after that and on top of that he’s risking me bringing pests into my home once I go home 1 roaches can lay a bunch of eggs. They definitely need a visit from the department of health.

This last time that I went, I saw roaches in the room and they were having problems with the water so we couldn’t shower. They didn’t give us the money back and they just said they’ll give us a discount next time.

No carpeting in room, cold water in shower & sink ran as hot as the hot water. Room sleeps 2, but there was only 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel & 1 bath towel. AC was off & room was very hot when arriving, however they knew we were expected because they had everything waiting for us so the room should have been cooled as well. I guess you get what you pay for.

Maid service was excellent, but the office service was not good. Lack of understanding English with one of the office workers.

A safe place to stay while I attended a concert at Petco. The a/c worked great, the place was clean though it did have a slight odor of cigarette smoke. Plenty of parking. I recommend for friends going out and not having to pay the crazy prices of Gaslamp or other downtown hotels. Staff was very friendly.

Right when we walked in and turned on the lights cockroaches were on the walls and on the floor. Roaches on the bath towels. We took photos and showed it to the front desk. They went to the room and sprayed Raid to kill the roaches and came back showed us the bottle of Raid and said they are gone now. What a joke! He tired to offer another room but most likely there’s roaches there also. We also notice prostitution going on right out side of the hotel. We tried to get our money back and they wouldn’t give it back and Expedia only gave us $25 out of the $200 for the night that we paid for. I’ll make sure to read reviews before booking again.

My room had a balcony, and was an 8 minute walk to Zuma beach.

We have stayed at this motel several times and we’ve had no problems whatsoever. The staff is courteous and the motel is decent. We can go to the store and there are several places to eat within wakking distance.

I requested and paid for a non-smoking room, according to the clerk my room was a nonsmoking room. This was not true as soon as we walked in the room smelled like cigarettes, it was a strong smell. For the price that we paid, the experience and expectations were not met.

I shopped online for the best prices. PO no we're in the website does it say that naked woman were going to be working the streets in every corner of the hotel is one thing. Yes 2 doors down a loud party with prostitute having no shame around a 5 and 14 year old boy. I went to San Diego to enjoy the beach not to be disturbed in so many ways. On top of that we get there the TV wasn't working because it wasn't plugged. There was no maintenance on site and they couldn't go e me another room to move to. Also there was blood on the ceilings and there's tick stains or black stains on the sheets I was scared to sleep, that I didn't sleep. I felt like a horrible mother exposing my kids to that and having to pay so much money for a really bad experience. Not a good feeling to have to live when I work so hard to feel less than what I am.

The toilet was very dirty inside, and there were loud, drunk neighbors making a lot of noise.

Upon arrival the person that way at the window for check in stated that there was an additional $20 dollar deposit which was not stated at the time of booking online. I let him know that when booking online it does not let you know about this policy and he just kept says “$20 cash deposit” and completely ignored what I was saying. Inside the motel the sheets were dirty, the towels were dirty, as well as the shower curtain. Would not recommend staying here to anyone.

I needed an iron... I went to the office to ask for one and the young receptionist gave me one that didn't work. After going back to the office and telling her what happened with the iron, the receptionist instructed me to look for the housekeeping lady since she was around and I should ask her for an iron. Really!?? I should look for the housekeeping lady and ask for a working iron. Common!!! She didn't have the decency of looking for the housekeeping lady herself. Never again will this happen to me. I would not stay here again. The facilities are old and need to be spruced up. My experience was not the best. I'm being generous with my rating for this place.

This motel is horrible. The service is worse than poor. There’s is a lot of prostitutes on the street. Staff is not friendly at all. I asked for a non smoking room and when I opened the room, it smelled like some had been smoking the whole night. When I went to the office to complain, I was told they could not do anything about it. I had to go to a local Walmart to buy Lysol. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to stay. You’re better off spending a few more dollars and sty at a more decent place. Thanks

Bathroom tub was slippery when I was taking a shower so dangerous I almost fell not enough toilet paper, toilet paper was rough. The drawers is like kinda dirty.

The motel was no frills, but served its purpose as a quick place to rest located near downtown SD at a reasonable price.

The staff was great but it’s a roach motel. I saw two bugs. The Wi-Fi was great. The area has a lot of street workers but it’s safe. It looks old but overall it was worth the price. $12 dollar Uber to gas lamp and the convention center

The mariguana is everywhere. I didn't feel safe. And they give me dirty room. And I ask them to change it. They changed to onther dirty one even the towels not clean. Very bad experience

I don't mind the area cause its right off the freeway, but the smell I had when I checked into the room was unbelievable bad. Like the bathroom as full of number 2. Went to the AM/PM a block away and got a can of Glade. Used it all and left the door open for a hour. Never get a ADA Room again.

The person running the property was nice. I didn't have a lot of interaction with him, but he seemed like nice guy. The proerty itself was fine. But the area around it was super sketchy, with hookers and their pimps working a few of the streets on and very close to the property. I'd never bring my family to stay there. Especially young childrenm Ever! The room itself is small and the water comes out at a trickle. I won't stay there again, unless I bring body armor and they improve water pressure. Good luck with that.

It was the most disgusting Motel I have ever seen. Human hair on the bed, dead flies on the bed, yellow stains on the pillow cases, burn marks and holes in the mattress and sheets. This was all noticed within the first 5 minutes of walking into the room. Immediately came to the front counter and asked for a refund which they denied and refused to work with me even after seeing the photos I had taken. This Motel needs to be content

The listing is spot on. It took looked just like the pics.it is literally a 1-2 minute drive from the highway but couldn't hear any noise from inside. Very easy driving access to most all attractions within 10-35 minutes depending on traffic. A good pizza place just a block down. Felt safe walking to it and parking our polestar in the hotel lot.
