- 1.5/5
Close to my worksite. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Bed cover had many ash burnt areas. Beetles, flies and roaches. At least the AC was working. No breakfast of any kind, No in room coffee. No hot water at the sink but did have in shower.
- 3/5
Easy check in, good value for price, comfortable bed. Location could be better. Foundation remnants of demolished building in front of motel & mobile home in back of property
- 4/5
They have been improving the rooms. I stayed about a year ago and the room was definitely upgraded with better furniture and less "wear" quieter neighbors.
- 2/5
sound insulation is poor. can hear what 210 is doung very clearly
- 4/5
the location was very good The pillows were terrible
- 5/5
Clean, friendly place to stay.
- 4/5
Exterior doesn't look very pretty, but the room was remodeled recently and was clean. Location is right on US 13, so there is some road noise. Overall, a comfortable hotel for a good price.
- 3.5/5
The room was well equipped with TV, microwave, refrigerator, and was very clean. Having my car right near my door made it much easier to bring things in and out I have not stayed at a motel in decades, and I was aware of voices outside and upstairs. Not loud, but it caused me to peek out my window several times to check my car. The AC worked just fine but being in a small room, it was close to the bed and seemed rather loud when running . For privacy, I kept the curtains shut and the room was a bit dark.

- 4/5
The people were so nice and when I had an issue it was addressed immediately. We were here for a wedding and it was nice. The location was close to a lot of things and we had a nice time.
- 5/5
we'd like the price the price was great. The cleanliness was great easy parking like-minded clientele. It was not ghetto. I didn't have any issues with the property it was great
- 5/5
It was a great stay!
- 4/5
Flies are well managed. Almost passed it up. Several hotels 10 miles north.
- 1/5
Power didn’t work in half of the room and when I told the lady behind counter she didn’t even understand me. Blows my mind, that you live in here and can’t even understand/speak the language. Won’t be staying here again.
- 5/5
The room was clean had amazing water pressure. The property wad clean and quite at night.
- 4/5
They didn't have our reservation.
- 1/5
This property is a dump. Mold in bathroom around bathtub
- 3/5
Basic place. Clean, inexpensive. Needed a ckean room and a comfortable bed and thats what wr got
- 3/5
Very basic accommodations. Air didn't seem to work therefore it go rather stuffy and uncomfortable in the room. Pesky flies were flying around in the room. Staff was friendly & the wifi worked well.
- 4/5
All in all zero issues with this hotel, and would have no problems staying here again.
- 3/5
Clean bed. All I needed.
- 4/5
Comfortable beds, clean, allows dog for extra fee of 17/night, quiet, safe. Need to update the grounds near the hotel, has an empty concrete pad out front. Outward appearance could use improvements.
- 5/5
Easy access to area.
- 4/5
I liked the room and it was a nice bathroom with a wonderful shower temperature. The floors were dirty and the heat was acting a little weird, with all due respect.
- 5/5
I've used this hotel multiple times. It's clean and comfortable with good customer service. It's not fancy but it has everything I need. Good water pressure in the shower and comfy bed with microwave, fridge and desk space. Good wifi. For the money a good deal.
- 0.5/5
We booked the room for 5 people but they couldn't accommodate 5 people. My husband had to sleep in the car. They should have said the max for the room was 4. Even then, the beds were only full size, and fitting 2 in them was difficult. The owner was extremely rude about the whole thing as well.
- 3.5/5

- 1/5
The lights only worked in bathroom and sink. Outlets didn’t work. Room was very dirty filters on ac very dirty. Found trash behind the bed while trying to find an outlet. No coffee offered
- 0.5/5
There was nothing to like. The property was abandoned. There was some weird guy who let me know that the manager was missing. The ownership is located abroad. That it was abandoned.
- 3/5
We stayed as a stop-over on a longer drive. The man at the check-in was very kind. It was an economy motel that served our needs and was exactly as described. No frills, inexpensive option for a place to stay.
- 0.5/5
No Breakast!! Big sign on window at check in says NO BREAKFAST NO COFFEE The only thing I liked is that it was close to my friend who was in a nursing home.
- 2/5
It was disappointing to have breakfast and coffee advertised on hotels.com, only to find out after we arrived, with a sign in the office window, that they no longer provide those; there wasn't even a coffee maker in our room. Only two pillows were provided with the bed which made it very difficult to watch TV or read. Room was clean.
- 1/5
Its a bed on our way north. Rooms are musty. But air helps. But the desk clerk was rude. I had called to say we would be late. I understand families own these small independent hotels but nonreason to be rude
- 4.5/5
The manager was very helpful.
- 1/5
The guy in the front desk was terrible
- 4/5
The bed wasn't so comfortable
- 4/5
No coffee maker! ?.
- 4/5
no breakfast or coffee available shower head was split
- 1/5
Owner/.anager rude and unfriendly. Refused to give me an itemized reciept. Room was clean, surrounding property unsafe, rutted road into property. Air conditioner very loud and difficult to operate, push buttons all worn off of words.
- 3/5
The room and one bed had bugs. The bug on the floor looked like a roach and we killed it. The bug in the bed bit my granddaughter. Will never stay here again.
- 1/5
The front desk employee was extremely unprofessional we went to him with concerns we had (the smell of the room, how dirty the room was, and the flashing blue lights outside that aren’t supposed to blink) and he began cussing and yelling that we could not change rooms or get any kind of refund for the stay highly don’t recommend
- 0.5/5
The physical location of the building was very easily accessible. That was the only good thing about this hotel stay. The manager/owner was very rude, vague with his orientation, and just plain disrespectful. He yelled at me, told me I had mental problems, and was just rude and as disrespectful as he could be. (Incidentally, I served 24 years in the military and retired so he could have the right to free speech and say all those nasty things to me.)The cleaning staff did not make my bed nor remove the dirty towels. When I returned to the motel after a day out and presented the dirty towels to the manager and told him that I needed clean towels, he said the staff had cleaned my room and put clean towels in there. When I told him they did not, he told me I was lying. Then he called the staff member, who said he had not cleaned the room nor replaced the used towels. I never received an apology for him calling me a liar or any of the other evil things he said to me.
- 2/5
Male staff has poor attitude. Payed for Continental breakfast. They didn't have. Food/drink in vending machine was so old. Wrapper was faded." " Was repedly told not to smoke "I don't" but people next door stayed out side both nights. Smokeing marijuana. HVAC pulled that in my room for hours. Called ahead to request late check in. Wouldnt do that unless I paid ahead by phone. Just wantnt a good experience. This happens a lot with Indian owned places. At least in my experience.
- 1/5
Pillows were soiled, not just dirty. Linens stained. Flooring was dirty, a/c filthy, bathroom has cigarette burns and soiled wall adjacent to the toilet. Flys were abundant. We brought our dogs and had to pay additional upon check in and my husband ultimately refused to stay there and we left and checked out 2 hrs after check in. No refund was provided and the owner was rude and not helpful upon check in. There is adjacent building it appears that people live in full time.
- 3/5
0roperty was okay for a last min booking
- 3/5
Not a bad stay but felt like there were some weirdos around
- 5/5
We have stayed at the Budget Inn several times and the management is always courteous and efficient. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Good for one night stay
- 4/5
There was no breakfast or coffee which equipment was there for. We could of used 2 more pillows.
- 2/5
Bathroom ok
- 4/5
Excellent wi fi
- 4/5
For a budget hotel, this place was better than i expected. Good sized room, clean and even had a mini fridge and microwave. Only downfall was that the walls are semi thin, so you can hear others. If you are a light sleeper it may bother you.
- 4/5
It was quiet everything worked
- 1/5
The room smell terrible how to kill bugs
- 5/5

- 4/5
Good place to stay at a decent price. The hotel is very close to US 13, so there is a small amount of noise from traffic. The hotel did not offer coffee or breakfast items, so if that's important, you will need to stay elsewhere. My room appeared to have been remodeled recently.

Decent place to stay
- 4/5
Clean room
- 2/5
The room was outdated, sheets were filthy, including the blankets!! No coffee pot in the room, but coffee and filters, towels were small and soooo thin! No soap, overall unacceptable there was a lot of traffic in and out of the office!! All night!! Something didn’t feel right about this!!
- 4/5
bugs
- 4/5
Lots of room for boat parking
- 3/5
It’s ok if you need a place to stay. No coffee or continental breakfast. No iron in the rooms. Not acceptable for the rate charged. Checkout time was 11am. Very rude for the owner to call me at 9am to ask if I was checking out or staying and tell me I needed to check out by 10:30am. Housekeeping came in every two days to refresh the room and replenish towels. It is also rude to have an exterminator spray rooms while the customers are in it. Property attendant was very nice. I will not stay here again.
- 5/5
The rooms were immaculate. Very clean and well kept up facilities. The staff were very friendly and available for assistance if needed. If I ever get back to Eastern Shore again, I will definitely be staying here. Just as nice but cheaper in cost than big name establishments.
- 5/5
Good property and we used only for freshen up as we went for camping near area
- 1/5
Upon entering the unit, heard dripping in the bathroom... Tub wet, the ceiling wet, drops of water coming from the corner of the bath tub ceiling. Floor had something sticky on it, I used a wash cloth and wiped the entire room flooring clean, the cloth was absolutely DIRTY! I was staying in 110... The ceiling was so thin, I heard each and every steps that was made! Sounded like a herd of elephants! The room had a order, sprayed lots of room spray, had a sentend candle lit...stilled malodorous. Do yourself a favor. Stay else where!
- 1/5
I made reservations from home and then forgot the slip of paper I looked for a listing for the hotel to call them and tell them we would be late--no listing. I did get in touch with hotels.com but they couldn't find my reservation so I thought something had gone wrong and I didn't HAVE a reservation. So we stayed at another hotel. I asked them to help me with the name and they tried but couldn't. Finally the next day we drove by the Budget Inn. I went in to see if they would give me some kind of credit or refund--very nastily they said no.
- 1/5
Very rude, short on manners. The smell of curry engulfed the premises. We had roaches running throughout the room. When we complained and requested a room change we were told to leave. Not a place to take wife and kids.
- 1/5
We knew we had booked late for a wedding in Cape Charles, and the Budget Inn Nassawadox was one of the only places left with availability. My boyfriend and I are not fussy people, so we had no issue with this. As a budget it, it is physically what you would expect: minimum and clean. The reason we did not enjoy our stay is because 1. They illegally charged us for my 2 ESAs, even though I offered to provide documentation. The man at the front desk was continuously rude to us. As I said, we gone to a wedding, we asked to check out an hour and a half late- because we had left our car at the wedding and were having issues finding a taxi/uber to bring us to pick it up so we could check out. The man from the front desk tried to charge us $20 and rudely also tried to site that we had a friend over (like I said we went to a wedding. She is one of my best friends from college and was in our room for 2 hours max during the day beforehand to get ready (hair and make up) with me after we visited the bride). He then tried to tell my boyfriend that if we didn't pay he could call the police on us...for what? Being responsible and not drinking and driving and having an issue in a small town to find transportation? I never write reviews but he was so rude it warranted one.
- 3/5
I understand no food but not even a cup of coffee available and not close to anywhere to get some.
- 1/5
This is the worst motel I ever checked in for my past 20 years in United States. The motel owner is such a rude & grumpy man who treat all of his guest as thieves. This motel needs to be shut down.
- 1/5
The checkin attendant was the rudest person i have ever encountered at a motel before. Will never return to that establishment again.
- 3/5
Low cost, good for a 1 night stay. No King beds, very musty smeel had to use lot's and lot's of air freshener. VERY SLI{{ERY TUB!!!!
- 1/5
Room was overpriced, and the room had flies and mold. There was a creepy man hanging around the parking lot watching us and then walked over to another motel and sat on the balcony. Felt very uncomfortable and left. Did not get a refund
- 3/5
No coffee no breakfast bathroom door would not shut
- 3/5
It was just an OK place to stay for one night. Rates were reasonable.
- 4/5
The room are affordable and clean; exactly what I want traveling solo.
- 5/5
Rooms are dated but clean. Biggest complaint is that your can hear everything that's going on in all the rooms around you.
- 5/5
It was great nice clean room bath was extra clean will be going back to stay in a few months thanks
- 1/5
The chairs in the room were very nesty couldn't sit in them refrigerator was dirty no bag for the ice bucket. Will never stay at another budget inn again
- 3/5
Easily located.
- 4/5
Very convenient stop for an overnight stay for us and our pets en route the beaches.
- 4/5
I left a review on the "check in" email that Expedia sends out that there was problems with my reservations, which there was. The owner did confront me the next day about the review, which kinda made me a little uncomfortable. Overall, I think is my reservations hadn't been messed up (whether it was Expedia's fault or the hotels) that there would have been no issues.
- 1/5
No good
- 3/5
Ok but did not expect to work during stay. I cleaned dust off furniture, fixtures and blow dryer. Fridge and clothes rack rusted. Cigarette burns on tub in non-smoking room. Old curtains at window. TV and toilet, shower curtain were new and nice.
- 4/5
It was a decent budget hotel’ a bit far from cape Charles but the price was good!
- 4/5
Family run business. They are very polite and professional. The units have been recently updated.
- 1/5
This motel was unsatisfactory in so many ways. It was an obvious red flag when we went to open the door to our room and saw a 3 foot roll of fly tape covered with dead flies nailed to our neighbors door, The room above us was rented out to someone who was literally up all night stomping around on the floor, keeping us from sleeping. When I reported this to the manager in the morning, he didn’t even apologize or say he regretted our bad night. He rudely told me that he had no control over what happened in other rooms. This motel provided grungy furniture, no amenities and no breakfast, yet charged a premium price. We were totally dissatisfied and hope others will read this review and stay away.
- 2/5
Management in need of customer relations training. Most expensive and disappointing hotel stay ever experienced.
- 1/5
the upholstery was dirty, flies everywhere, i killed a cockroach in the bathroom. Linens were clean. Couldn't control the volume from the remote. Would not recommend this place at all.
- 2/5
The bed was hard and was not a queen size that we booked but a double. The air conditioner was a window unit that was loud when cutting on and running. The paint on the door was badly chipped and the room had a strange smell. The whole place is sadly in need of an upgrade. Overall totally not worth the $92 a night we paid. The sign out front said $59.95/week night. It MIGHT have been worth that if we were desperate.
- 1/5
There was a cockroach in my room, it smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room, and upon inspecting under things for more cockroaches, the room was very unclean.
- 2/5
You get what you pay for; The owner (?) is very aggressive and hostile
- 2/5
This is a basic property no amenities however my room was loaded with flys
- 4/5
The surrounding property was run down and dilapidated.
- 5/5
Our room was Excellent !! Bathroom & separate wash area were spotless and the bed was very comfortable . Manager Paul was very friendly & helpful on our arrival & greeted us with with a big smile Overall we had a Great stay & certainly will stay here again . Thank You Paul & Pretty !!!
- 2/5
It was clean on the inside the outside look like a dump but don't book through hotel l.com because if you go in person you get $10 cheaper than through hotel.com
- 4/5
The desk clerk/owner (?) was not wearing a mask. The bathroom door would not latch shut. Only two very small, flat pillows on the bed. However, it was very clean and smelled nice. The bed was comfortable despite the pillows lacking their pillowness. We only stayed one night.
- 4/5
Good price for the motel. Friendly staff, clean, easy to book.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the owner was pleasant and friendly. We stayed there as a travel rest stop and will use it again.
- 5/5
I needed an inexpensive place on short notice on Labor Day weekend. Because of previous reviews, I was expecting the worst. The worst thing about this motel was it's appearance from the highway. The room it's self, while an obviously older motel, had been updated and was much nicer than what I expected for the price. The floor was a good quality attractive wood-look vinyl. The room was very clean as was the bedding. The bed was firm and the pillows were comfortable. The mini-fridge, tv, and airconditioning worked. A coffee maker would have been nice. Check in was fast and easy. The housekeeper was friendly. The only small complaint was the room was hot upon arrival. It cooled off very quicly after I turned on the AC. There is a snack and drink machine. It was an easy drive to everything we needed and wanted to see. Will definitely stay again if I ever get caught with full campgrounds on the Eastern Shore again or perhaps just for a short fun getaway.

Dirt
- 2/5
during check in the receptionist guy was very rude.. the bed was okay but some of the stuff were already rusty. The floor is not clean.
- 1/5
I had to cancel for
- 1/5
People at the front desk were straight a**holes. I walked in at 11 asking the simple question of when do I check in and the lady started screaming at me and being extremely rude about how I can’t check in until 3. Which I respected and understood the first time she said it but she continued to repeat it like I was an idiot. I don’t recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely need a place to stay, it’s an awful place with awful owners. Terrible rating
- 4/5
Clean and updated bathroom and floors.... nice bed and sheets
- 4/5
We were in town for a wedding, the budget inn served its purpose of giving us somewhere to sleep and get ready. The office staff was super nice. Overall it wasn’t super glamorous but it worked for a place to crash.
- 5/5
Nice affordable place to stay. Worked well for what we needed

Room didn’t smell clean, area didn’t feel safe. I was only there an hour, check out. I thought I was saving a dollar by booking this place, but it wasn’t worth getting sick or my car broken into. Shady hotel
- 3/5
I was disappointed to learn of the $15 charge for my dog. The room furnishings are very outdated and not very clean. The parking lot and surrounding grounds left much to be desired. They advertise a $49 room rate of my final bill was $77 including the charge for the dog. I’ve stayed at other “budget” type lodgings but this was far below average.
- 3/5
No too bad for a budget hotel. As soon as you walk in to check out you can smell Mediterranean or curry food. Room was small and basic but nothing fancy. It was advertised as a queen size room but the bed was more like a full size. Microwave oven was dirty inside with food caked on. The paper cups they provided were used. The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. Check out is 10:30. I think the cleaning staff doesn't pay attention to detail.
- 4/5
Rooms small, but very clean and tidy, typical of an older hotel. Having a microwave was nice, additionally a coffee maker would be great. But realistically speaking, a very good value for an overnight or weekend stay. Staff kind, courteous and accommodating, Italian restaurant close by. Would stay again.
