Somatel Nashville Airport Hotel

My wife and I travel all over the country staying in hotels everywhere. This hotel was by far the worst I’ve ever been into. Upon walking into the first room we were given we seen cockroaches crawling on the sink counter. The desk chair had what appeared to be months worth of dirt build up and mildew. Shower head was broken off. Curtains were broken. Air conditioner had no buttons and unusable. Cobwebs everywhere. Lamps were broken and barely hanging onto the wall. Dust build up on hairdryer and other items. Part of the baseboard was hanging off and that’s where more cockroaches were. They then gave us another room. Upon walking into that room we thought someone was already staying in there. Tv on, beer boxes in the desk chair, beer bottles and trash can full. Trash on the floor. Bed not made.

It's close to the airport, so it's a good spot for an out of town Uber driver! People whether they are staying there or not are in and out all the time. It's disturbing while you're trying to sleep and relax.

I would not recommend at all for the family

It was dirty , there were prostitutes, drug dealers, 5 metro police when we arrived. The beds were small , everything looked n smelled bas, the drug dealing and prostitution went on loudly all night long, someone started banging on our door at 3 am. Wanting g acid n the phone .I was so glad to leave that place. It has to b the most unsafe I've ever felt. Nokinda lock on the door only the key phob lock.

I did not like anything about the property. I did not like anything about the property there were drug dealers and prostitution going on in the parking lot. There was roaches in the room also and in the refrigerator and everything in the room didn’t look like nothing in the pictures they have posted on booking.com I’m very disappointed and unsatisfied with the room.

Some one kick my door in at this place and not just one person but EIGHT PEOPLE. Took alll my belongings and hit me with some type of weapon in my mouth so hard it knocked teeth out and split my lips! Law Suit is coming! I want my money back for this stay and I’m pressing for the city to shut this place down!!!

Room wasn’t too bad but the all hotel guests are Ghetto and definitely not the people that you feel safe to be there with. I had a guest threat me in front of the office person and I had to leave the hotel because I felt very unsafe and worry for my self . Called the police and reported but nobody showed up , escorts in the premissesand when I ask for a refound the owener gave me hard time even if I don’t stay there . After long time in the phone the owener told me that it will be refund the money but we will see and I will report it if that happen but all the experience was horrible and the place is not good and definitely safe

Hotel is in a pretty bad state. The heater in the room looked like it was bashed with a baseball bat and smelled like it was on fire when I turned it on. There was hair on the towels and sink in the room. The shower did not have any hot water. The floorboards had a section that was broken and cut out. I wasn't expecting luxury by any means, but I did not feel comfortable sleeping here at all. I'll give it two stars as I was still able to sleep through the night, but did not feel clean at all.

Staff was fairly friendly. Place needs some upgrades in terms of infrastructure and cleanliness. It was a place to sleep worth the price I guess.

Nice hotel. My problems were with the other guests. Someone tried to amuse their baby in the parking lot at 2 AM. It is also located in the flight path of the airport, so you're in luck if you need to be awake at 5AM. Otherwise, great hotel.

We booked this an hour before we arrived. Everything was in good working order and clean condition. Very close to airport. Good area with local amenities nearby.

Most awful experience

The price of this place was about the only good thing to be honest. There was blatant, open prostitution, obvious drug use, and generally felt unsafe for my partner & I. We made it through the night but would not recommend for average travelers.

I didn't get my vehicle broken into so that's a plus but it was rough.

No available hot water for tea/coffee,no microwave.

Cockroaches, homeless people, broke down vehicles in parking lot, disgusting check in lobby, had to change rooms, disgusting shower, TV was melted and didn’t work

This hotel was great quality for the price. The bedding was clean, the AC cooled, and the water pressure was great. Sadly, the area around the edges of the room was dirty, and the space around the room was neglected. It also does not have breakfast like their website claims. However, it is a fraction of the rate of other surrounding hotels and the staff is working hard to improve the facility. I’ll be back as long as their rates stay low.

The room was relatively clean although the tile floor had not been cleaned. The motel was located in a scary part of town. We were scheduled to stay for 3 nights but fled after the first night and found a safer hotel. The other tenants were sketchy to say the least and we were concerned for our car and for our own safety. They also did not have the breakfast as advertised.

The staff were incredibly kind and understanding. I had to cancel one of the nights I originally booked, and they were very accommodating and helpful in my situation. That level of service really made a difference. I highly recommend staying here — it’s a comfortable place with a great location and genuinely friendly service!

The first room I received had a broken door latch, so it could not be securely closed. I requested a room change, but the second room had a very dirty floor, and we were concerned that the bed sheets had not been properly changed. Due to these issues, I decided to return the room key and move to another hotel.

The Lyft driver who dropped me off cautioned me not to leave my room and walk around. Because it is a dangerous part of Nashville.

I was supposed to get a $20 deposit returned to my card. We didn’t even spend the entire night & left the room exactly as we found it with the exception of a used towel. I had to call five different times to get someone to answer the phone

Scary, unsafe feeling. This hotel is old and falling apart, unfortunately. TV only worked a small part of the time, as did the AC, plus there’s the constant LOUD sound of airplanes coming in for landings nearby.

There was a fight outside as I was entering the parking lot. A hooker on the side of the motel, and the facility did not look stay-able. I ended up getting another hotel and not staying.

After paying for cancellation fee and booking reservation, the price was raised twice a deposit was required. The deposit should be mentioned up front

It has more people living at the place, than travelers. Kids run around everywhere. To make matters worse, it is right at the end of the runway. So jets take off and land right over the properry.

Holes in wall. Hair in shower. Get what you pay for.

Noise from adjacent rooms and aircraft traffic was horrible. No sound proofing at all. Facilities were really run down.

This is NOT a safe location! Do not get a room there if you are not from there. My husband and I waited 30 minutes to check in. We checked in around 6pm and ended up checking out by 10pm. We went and found another hotel, by far the WORST experience ever and a waste of money.

No combinations, bad maintenance. But for price, it’s OK just asleep.

Room had bo heat, and was freezing

The staff was friendly but there was no one at the front desk when I tried to check in. It was quite a long wait until someone came to the front desk. When I got the room, there was no heat, it stayed about 50 degrees in the room all night. The heater did not work.

Had to wait over 20 mins to see a registering person at front desk. The bathroom has no light and very poor conditions in everything.

The property had lots of people hanging outside at night making lots of noise. There were drunk people, loud music, and fighting all night long. The property condition was ok but not great. The room was decent but the beds were so hard and uncomfortable.

It smelled so bad I could not even sleep through the night without the front MOTEL door open. The bathroom was even worse. Iwas afraid I would get a lung disease from it.

The service was poor, room was dirty and phone did not work. Deposit they did not tell me they were taking was more than the room cost and I have still yet to get a final copy of my bill despite asking for it since I think the charge was incorrect.

This place was completely disgusting. Not once they clean the room or gave us clean towels. We found a roach and on the bathroom it look like they didnt clean it right, because there was an eyelash on the floor. The location on this place looks really dangerous & alot of shady ppl.

Ì dont know why but, pay attention to reviews they are for a reason. This place is so run down they wouldn't pick front desk and was rite there. The room 😳where is the health dept?one of the worst I've seen i would sleep in my car .csi need to come with all the blood weed nuggets everywhere..there paying someone off no way that place pass any inspection...dont do itor even think of it unless you don't care and you are a very nasty person..i beg you dont do it.

The hotel was absolutely horrible that we had to leave. I would never recommend this for anyone to stay.

Not only did it not look anything like the photos. There was a window with what looked like a bullet hole right next to the check in window. The manager guy was rude. And me and my boyfriend had selected a non smoking room and when we walked in it reeked of cigarette smoke and the sheets and blankets had cigarette burns all through out. It felt so unsafe to be there. We were there for only 10 mins before we decided it was best to leave. Would not recommend it

the staff were very pleasant and helpful. the motel itself is not at an enviable level. it needs a major renovation. some people were very loud and disrespectful to other people in the motel. the swimming pool is not in operation and this was not mentioned in the offer. overall i can only give 2 stars for everything

The man at the front desk was friendly and that’s about it. Refunded me for my second night and didn’t even spend the night. Didn’t feel safe and loud people coming and going. Spend a little extra and stay somewhere else. Avoid this area, nicer airport areas.

Room was clean & comfortable. Didn’t care for the tiny pillows and old comforter though. Otherwise, no complaints. I’d stay there again.

My Mother has very bad knees and cant walk really well, especially up stairs. Their elevator was out of order and had us on the 3rd floor. Beds were like sleeping on rock slabs. Along with if you left dirty towels tbey wouldnt give back your deposit either. Great pricing, but wouldn't stay again.

Property was not safe at all and I’m pretty sure that the bed has bedbugs. The stench was so bad when I entered the room that I could not say I ended up booking another hotel because it was so terrible and I was afraid for my life.

The bedsheets had holes, there were junkies on the curb, half of the outlets did not work, the tv remote didnt work, the desk chair had a bunch of crumbs left on it from the last occupants. Did not feel safe or comfortable, the other guest with me was even worried about bed bugs

I don't even know where to start talking about how horrible this "hotel" is, I don't know how you can call it, the (hotel), extremely dirty, I had to leave this hotel and pay for another one because I couldn't stand the smell of cigarettes in the room and when I I went to check out to go to another hotel and I said why I was leaving, and the attendant simply ignored me, and it was extremely dirty, the smell of mold was also terrible, I couldn't tell which stench was stronger, this was the worst hotel experience i ever had .I DONT RECOMENT THIS "HOTEL" AT ALL!

It is right by the runway of the airport so planes fly directly overhead. There appeared to be quite a few homeless people hanging around the area. For țhe price I was satisfied

Pool was not clean or maintained. There was roaches, dirt, hair, and trash in the room. The refrigerator was poorly maintained and dirty. I had to move rooms due to dysfunctional air unit. Multiple people being loud and drug dealing on the property, including prostitution. Every Uber warned me of how unsafe the hotel was.

To say my expectations were not met would be an understatement. There is not even a lobby, much less a banquet room for the "free hot Breakfast". Additionally, the swimming pool was empty with no evidence that it was even being repaired. To top everything off, this hotel is directly on the flight line for departing aircraft from the airport. The room was clean enough, but the phone was not functional. Not the experience I expected, to say the least! I DO NOT recommend this hotel!

Filthy, doors and walls had holes, and as I was leaving I saw a cockroach on the dresser. I have never had such an awful experience, or been so disgusted. I spent an hour checking for bedbugs or roaches when I first got to the room and didn’t see anything. I still couldn’t sleep because I was so worried. The hotel was very run down and dirty. I felt unsafe. It was very noisy too.

Scum and filth all around bathtub. Floors weren’t washed, things weren’t wiped down. Pool was emptied and had trash in it. Broke down vehicles without license plates in parking lot. Sketchy people hanging in stairwell. Hair in toilet. We refused to stay the night. Had to lose one night charge but I would take the hit to get out of there as fast as I could.

Started bad from very beginning. The clerk wanted my me to tell him my PIN in order to process my payment. Then a very poor condition room. 1 pillow for 2 of us, which after complaining I managed to get another but only 5hrs later. No coffee machine. No breakfast available as advertised. No chair in room. If pool advertised, I wouldn't let anyone in, as I would be afraid of getting something. The door would not close properly and did not have any safety locks of any sort. I had to put items that made noise against it in order to warn us of someone trying to enter as the place did not feel safe. It was also very noisy. Do I need to go on?

Room was questionable. The bed was hard(i can get over, its a motel), there were holes in the wall near the floor along the wall behind the bed like they were redoing the baseboards but never finished(questionable). There were hairs EVERYWHERE, on the bed sheets, blanket, in the shower. The rooms were not very sound proof because i could hear people banging on the walls all night, literally. OH AND the stupid smoke detector was beeping every few minutes the entire night because they apparently cant be bothered to check the batteries. It was convenient to be so close to the airport but thats really the only good thing i have to say about the place.

There was a hole in the wall, there was dirt and a brown splashed substance all over some of the walls. The floors were not clean and there were leftover smashed bug bits on the wall and a broken plug cover with wires outside of the wall.

I don’t know why this place is rated high on Expedia. It’s not a safe place to be. A tenant tried to sell me meth while I was unloading my car. Sketchy people in parking lot, tv and heat don’t work. This place should be condemned. Expedia has to take responsibility for promoting this place. Someone is going to get killed

Room smelled like it was just painted, and had dust all over the room. No Tv remote, puke all over the parking lot. Bed frame had spill marks all over it. Was pretty disgusting.

Its always great rverytime i stay here. The office staff are so nice to me. They work with me if i ask them to. Overall its a nice hotel. Its an old building its gonna have its flaws and thats ok because it shows character and history

There was girls hanging from the rail when I pulled up. Checked in the guy was nice. Went to my room there was no lightbulbs in the the lights, bathroom had a nasty smell and the comforter had a cigarette hole in it. The nastiest part of it the sheets had stains on it. I couldn’t find the remote to the tv either! Not a clean place at all!!! We left and stayed at another hotel!

Let’s see, when I checked in a man with a gun in his waistband was standing behind me. When I confronted him of it he said I’m sorry i didn’t know it was showing. Wow. There was feces in the stairwells, exposed live wires in the bathroom, and cigarette burns in my blanket. The pool was drained. The parking lot was covered in hazardous waste/stains. Extreme public safety concern at this place.

I didn't not stay as i was a single female traveling and miss my connection flight. The uber that took me there ask how i heard about this place, i told him Expedia. He told me the area was not safe and as i drove up i saw why he said so, the front desk agent spoke to u from a cage. I told him to cancel the room as i felt scared. They wont give me back my money for a room a book for less than 30 minutes. The driver took.me right back to the airport and told.me to try a safer hotel close by.he told me he couldn't not leave me because he know it's very dangerous in that area.

Room was run down all around, smelled terrible, spiderwebs everywhere, floors were filthy (my socks were black after walking around for a few minutes. Shower head was basic. The bed however was surprisingly comfortable and there was a mini fridge and a microwave. If you're not big on esthetics, its definitely a place to crash for the night.

This place is a dump. Had to switch rooms due to deadbolt slot being stuffed with paper stopping deadbolt from closing fully. Woke up to tapping on the door from sketchy guy with picture of girl on his cell phone. Area littered with deadbeats.

It was disgusting. I had to to kill several roaches. Behind my bed there was condom wrappers and beer cans, and the staff is incredibly rude and yells at you in another language.

Stayed one night. Booked it from Hotels.com, placed looked nice and included breakfast with the price. Place isn’t like photos. Guy at window who checked us in was nice but when I asked where and what time breakfast was he said there's no breakfast. I said my reservation included it, he said sorry no breakfast. Gave me 1 room key for 2 ppl instead of 2. Room was dirty and tore up, nothing like photos when booked. Blanket had blood or some red stain on it, found a hair in bed when pulled sheets back. While loading car to check out police were there for some reason in the main office.

Room was not very presentable. Walls and ceiling looks like it is being repaired or needs repairs. Faucet was not wiped clean. Some decor was modern and nice, but doesn’t compensate for the flaws. Not worth the price, will not be back.

We refused to stay there. people out in the parking lot drunk in chairs. told the manager, he said they lived there, My granddaughter was so frightened she started crying. manager refused to refund my money

I was greatly disappointed. During my short stay, I was heavily concerned about my belongings and safety. Smells like weed and cigarette smoking outside all the time. The people next to my room were up til who knows what time after 3am doing who knows what with their room door wide open. I walked into my room and the floor was sticky, there was hair on my sink and shower, dry coffee drops on the wall, floor wasn’t swept, things weren’t wiped down, a punched hole in the bathroom door, mini fridge wasn’t wiped down. The staff was super kind and friendly though. This hotel has so much potential to be better, I really hope they make improvements.
