Reviews
The hotel is praised for its unique, trendy, and modern design, as well as its central location close to restaurants, shops, and universities. The staff is generally described as friendly and helpful. However, some guests have issues with the room temperature control, lack of amenities such as a fridge and coffee maker, and the cost of parking. Some also find the hallways too dark and the rooms too small.

Loved the neighborhood, the vibe, parking, and way they welcomed my pup! Less than $20 uber to Broadway.

There was something going wrong with the plumbing causing loud noises within the walls of the building starting around 5 am. It continued for hours. We didn’t get any sleep and tried to call to get moved to another room but we were left on hold for an extensive period of time and no one ever answered. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The only plus side was that the bar staff was very nice.
- 3/5
The hotel is budget friendly but not particularly comfortable. I wouldn't stay at one again.
- 2/5
Room was less than average. AC hardly worked. No real comforts in room. Music in lobby was so loud I couldn't hear the attendance who was checking me in. Staff was very friendly.

Place was awesome. Great environment and staff. Very clean also

I did not like that there were not coffee makers in the rooms.

Staff was great our whole stay! We even left an item that was important to my kids, and they were all incredibly helpful. They stayed in contact for updates about shipping the item back. Everyone seems to enjoy their jobs there.

There was no where to store anything. No dressers no fridge nothing! Charging high prices for parking. Room won't go past 68 degrees because they've locked the ac units from going past it, and honestly the aesthetic is terrible. 2/10

Place is pretty cool. Location was great. Very clean. Check in was easy. Lots to do. Only negative was both nights we tried to stop at the lobby bar and get a drink. First night was 16 mins with out even a hello. Second night at 13 minute mark the tour lady bartending actually said “oh, did you guys want something.” When we ordered she seemed slightly put out to get a beer. Rest of staff in hotel was amazing. We just chose to spend our drinking money else’s.
- 3/5
The room was sparsely decorated. There was a strange window from the shower into the bedroom which might have felt sexy if you were traveling with your partner but just felt creepy when traveling with your child. The desk in the room was useless. The pegs on the wall were pointless. The hallways were too dark and the room numbers were illuminated and too bright.
- 3/5
The room was smaller than we expected. Bathroom was nice but small. Little cramped with 2 people in there at same time. Overall it was fine for the one night we stayed. The staff was friendly and the free drinks were a nice surprise.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, nice rooms and within close walking distance to Pancake Pantry. Glass windows into the bathroom did not give much privacy though.
- 5/5
We felt very safe and it was clean. It was unique with a hip vibe.

I was going to have test done at Vanderbilt and wanted a stay near the hospital. It was in great location right down from the hospital. Room was very clean. However for almost $300 a night plus $35 parking fee it was no where close to being worth it. The room had no accessories. No refrigerator, no microwave no coffee machine. It would have been funny if it wasn’t so sad. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but I could tell it was an old building updated to the basic requirements. No iron. The bathroom had no privacy and was great if you was on a honeymoon. Lol. The bathroom door was sliding barn door. And both windows looked right into the walk-in shower and area. No privacy again. For breakfast they did have coffee down stairs but no breakfast offered with your price. I’ve stayed in $150 rooms with some type of warm breakfast offed. None. I really hate leaving these reviews because I feel like I’m being so picky but If I can save someone else the loss money I’m going to do it. The workers down stairs were kind but the wrong card was charged also on my account for the room. The night we checked in “and it was my fault partly” was talking about the parking I thought and misunderstood her when she was asking if I was paying at the property or through a 3rd party. I guess I thought she was still talking about parking. So, Of course in swiped my card, my personal card instead of the one I was using for traveling. So I quickly caught what I had done. She said she could fix it and would go get her manager. Finally she told me it had been fixed and the correct card would e charged and the pending charge on my personal account for $400! Would go back. So we went to bed. 3 days later the charge went thru. Not what I was told. I even checked the next morning with another worker and she reaffirmed it had been corrected Not true. I contacted the main office for this correction to be fixed and they wanted me to go back thru location. I tried this but got put on hold then told me a manager would call me back. No manager called me back. In short.

Location to Vanderbuilt hospital The fact that they charged my card without telling me they was taking 100 off my card and here it is a week later and I still haven’t gotten my money back even though they say they have released it already when I checked out. The room was not clean and the floor was sticky. I will not stay here again. This is my second stay first time they didn’t charge me a 100 dollars like they did the second time and you have to pay 33 dollars for parking as well.

The staff at the Moxy are fantastic. Our family sought refuge at the Moxy during a big ice storm that knocked out power for most of Nashville. The team there was super compassionate and accommodating as they dealt with an influx of tired and exhausted locals like my family. Highly recommend the Moxy. Also very walkable to lots of great restaurants in Hillsboro village.

No power, need to give me credit!!!!!
- 2.5/5
Location, games in lobby Couch in 501 was filthy, mattresses uncomfortable, weird room setup, remotes did not work for tv in one room, no lamp in bedroom, one outlet did not work
- 1.5/5
I left 2 credit cards in my room (there was no safe) and later got fraudulent charges on both of them.
- 5/5
Staff were kind and hospitable. Nothing. I will stay again.
- 3/5
the ac dint work when we got there.
- 2.5/5
The location was okay, restaurants in the area were okay. Need coffee maker and refrigerator and microwave in room.
- 4/5
Room was very clean. Nice facility, great location but it is a little weird that there is a window on wall between shower and bedroom.
- 2.5/5
Location requires a parking deck which is not designed for trucks or SUVs. Also everything requires a key card, based on location and protocol. Room reminded me of a dorm room. Shower water inconsistent, beds low to floor. Not recommended if over 60.
- 4/5
We had a great time at the Moxy! We loved the location and the bar and the DJ in the lobby. However, the parking garage was infuriating. Multiple people, multiple different time we could not exit the garage- with our room card or paying with the ticket. It was frustrating to have to reenter the lobby multiple times just to get our car out of the garage and then to pay $30 for self parking on top of that.. It was so frustrating we likely wont stay again just because the garage is such a hassle

Clean area for my daughter and her boyfriend Check in. It was a male that gave my daughter major attitude. I booked the room a week out and called the Moxy to let them know that I WAS PAYING for the room and that my daughter would be checking in on Wednesday the 26th and they let me know that they had added that to the reservation. When she checked in the check in clerk did not have that information and wanted my drivers license to check in. I was not there - because I had already called the hotel and let them know she would check in not me. They also put the room on her credit card after I specifically told the clerk I called the week before not to too that. She got very stressed because of the attitude of this male clerk. It was approximately 3:00 on Wednesday November 26th. He made a very snarky comment that he would give her some "grace" since I was not there to present my license to check in. Her name is Grace Brown. It was rude and inappropriate. I would welcome someone calling me from the hotel to discuss this arrogant clerk that checked my daughter and my fiance in last Wednesday. It gave them a bad impression right at the start. We spent some time at the bar that evening around 5:00 and the service was fine by the female working the front desk at that time. Had the male been there I would have spoken directly to him about his disrespect of my daughter at check in. Completely inappropriate. 615.887.3325 Jason Brown

Vert=y nice and clean hotel. Parking lot close. Nothing
- 5/5
Helpful, courteous staff. Coffee at the bar in the morning. Easy downstairs atmosphere for gathering. Comfortable bed, clean room.
- 5/5
The best staff! Super accommodating!
- 5/5
Just a trip to visit the city, hotel was really nice, the staff, Especially Purdy was super nice, accommodating and made the trip even more fun. The hotel is located in a great spot to walk and visit places of interest. Would definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

The ladies at the bar were super friendly!!

Love the location. Loved all the decor, very stylish!
- 5/5
Good environment in lobby to relax.
- 4/5
The room was clean. Everything is very minimalist. No in room coffee, small bathrooms. Definitely not somewhere I would want for a long term stay. We were just here over night for a medical procedure at Vanderbilt Hospital so it served our purpose.
- 4.5/5
Location and cleanliness
- 5/5
The hotel is the absolute best for a great stay in Nashville! We enjoyed are time here at the moxy! Great rooms and amazing staff! And all around great lobby to hangout in with family and friends!
- 3/5
The carpet in the hallways was such a detractant. The beds are horrible, horrible, horrible.
- 5/5
Nice, walking distance to Vandy medical center. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Stay here every time I have an appointment at Vanderbilt medical, always a pleasant stay
- 1/5
Hotel staff was so unhelpful and not understanding. Will never stay at a Moxy again. It felt more like a college dorm than a hotel.
- 5/5
Great location with great restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
- 5/5
I thought they had a restaaurant but it was more like a cafe style but the food and drinks were good.
- 4/5
Cool vibes Getting in/out of parking lot from the hotel was kind of annoying
- 4/5
Nice room
- 3.5/5
The bed was awful, it was like sleeping on a rock. I did not know in advance I would pay $60 for parking. The hotel was difficult to get to.
- 3/5
Book direct. Book direct. Everytime I try to write a review to book direct, it’s gets shut down
- 5/5
Hotel has a very fun vibe. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location, great vibe, extremely clean hotel
- 5/5
Great place !!!!
- 5/5
Super friendly and lively! Lots of restaurants and shopping on next block!
- 3/5
Had to dispute some charges from being over changed from the bar.
- 5/5
Stayed at Moxy for a weekend trip to Nashville. The location is so cute, modern and convenient to good restaurants. The ladies at the bar who helped us were wonderful.
- 5/5
Great location! Spacious room & friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff at the bar and cooking breakfast were great! Traveling with my granddaughter and felt safe here.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The Moxy Vanderbilt was a nice property. Staff was warm & welcoming. Cool vibe. Free drink tickets when you check in because you literally check in at the bar. Bed was VERY firm, but everything was super clean. Outside area was very loud until about 11:00pm. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Unique hotel! Loved the trendy vibe in the lobby with the different games.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff. One side of the building faces a noisy bar. Nothing crazy - but if you want a quiet early night ask to be on a different side. Nice location
- 3/5
Loved the modern look. Friendly service during check in and ordering food. Hotel is in a convenient location. Parking is great because you can self park and price is not outrageous for Nashville. The only drawback is the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like a box mattress. I would stay there again for the conveniences, but not the mattress. Hoping I just got a bad room.
- 5/5
I did not like that I thought the people working were telling me that our Parking would wind up being free for staying there. But when I got home I had a charge for parking in the garage. I already paid $200 for one night in the hotel and then had to pay $32 to park over night!
- 5/5
Enjoyed the free glass of wine! Quiet atmosphere.
- 4/5
The hotel room floor was dirty. I spilled water and when I cleaned it up the paper was black. The parking garage lower level smelled like sewer. Strong smell of marijuana outside on the street. Bar across the street. The staff were polite and friendly.
- 5/5
My girls and I had an amazing stay. The food was great for hotel food and the staff were the absolute best!! The property and parking was excellent and very convenient. I felt 100% safe allowing my 16yo daughter come and go as needed to the lobby as well, which is a big deal these days. The only unsavory part was water, there wasn't water easily accessible on the floors or in the rooms without walking all the way to the lobby.
- 5/5
What a wonderful spot! Highly recommend !
- 5/5
Loved the convenience to the university and shops/dining. The staff were incredibly friendly. Loved the “stash closet” on each floor where you could get your own extra towels, toiletries, etc instead of having to wait for staff to bring it to you. Loved the 2 free drinks you get upon check-in. Really cool vibe as well.
- 5/5
Room was hot and couldn’t adjust temperature.
- 5/5
Nice, relaxing, & atmosphere was neat. We took our two teenage girls and they loved the different game options in the lobby. Free drink tokens were an added bonus. Felt safe as you couldn’t go to other floor from the lobby in the elevator without your room key to scan. Will definitely stay again!
- 4/5
It was ok. A little too minimalist for my taste. It was clean bed slept well. Decor was a little dark and haunting but price was right.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere! Definitely will stay there again.
- 5/5
Very convenient
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great Stay!
- 5/5
Love the modern vibe
- 4/5
Very boutique, but not in an upscale way. Parking garage was crowded and kinda creepy. Staff was night. Room was orderly, but not breathtaking. Check in was confusing as far as directions go. Tight street but my stay was comfortable
- 2/5
The music was very loud.
- 5/5
Loved this place! Ask for a fan, but everything else was amazing!
- 5/5
Nice staff
- 5/5
Girls trip for my daughter before her wedding. Everything was great. Only thing that was odd was how dark the hallways were painted and just the darkness in the hall in general. The room was bright and clean.
- 5/5
Wonderful prior
- 2/5
Parking is $30.00 a night!! No Coffeemaker in Room No Microwave in Room No Fridge in Room No Dressers or anywhere to lay folded clothes. No table for two people to sit and eat at (there was one chair.) The WORST smart TV ever....incredibly slow and just bad. The ONLY saving grace is that the staff is amazing!
- 5/5
Had a wonderful time
- 3/5
Air conditioning and one elevator was out and notification was not given upon check in. By the time an offer was made for refund it was too late for us to move as we had an event.
- 5/5
I love the hip and cool vibes of Moxy properties! And this location is in a really awesome part of town with a ton of shops, bars and restaurants close by.
- 3/5
Overall ok close to everything and walkable nice shopping areas but hotel room has no fridge or drinks such as coffee maker etc had to go 1F to get coffee
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Great location to Vanderbilt campus and surrounding shops/restaurants. Came for a Vandy baseball game and enjoyed an easy 15 min walk to the Hawk. Modern hotel- very friendly staff- room was spacious enough for our family of 3. Very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Love the atmosphere and everyone is so friendly!
- 5/5
Helpful employees. Second stay and would stay again.
- 3/5
our heat didn't work and the sink wouldn't drain, and only one elevator was working, but the location and cleanliness were good
- 5/5
We love the Moxy and have stayed at different ones in other cities. The staff was very kind and welcoming plus very knowledgeable about where to go eat or see the surrounding sights.
- 5/5
It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
- 5/5
Haven’t stayed at a Moxy before, but I really like the clean efficient concept. Bed was comfortable and they really thought if everything. Shower had great pressure and staff were super friendly
- 5/5
Awesome hotel
- 2/5
No coffee in the room? Terrible work set up in the room. 7th floor and one working elevator. Won’t go back there.
- 5/5
Unique hotel with check in at the bar and a large and open area to congregate with different seating arrangements and games. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 1/5
Property was disgusting
- 4/5
European flavor. Adequate, with no frills atmosphere
- 5/5
We were in Nashville for a college visit. Perfect location to visit Belmont and Vanderbilt.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly and professional customer service
- 5/5
Excellent customer service. Quiet atmosphere
- 5/5
The staff was particularly accommodating
- 3/5
It was nice and clean but didn’t have no furniture for clothes, no closet, and no refrigerator or microwave. And check in at the bar was unusual.
- 5/5
Great Location. Chill vibe.
- 5/5
Was there for a football game! Excellent stay!
- 5/5
It was a nice hotel and room
- 5/5
Great hotel and area with restaurants on the same street. Friendly staff
- 4/5
Staff was very nice and polite
- 5/5
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The service of the staff was great and hope to come back again.
- 5/5
It was great. Real cool looking and staff were super friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
This is nice place to stay for a night or two especially if you don’t actually expect to spend a lot of time in the room. The hotel is in very convenient location with lots of food options and stores within walking distance; easy parking option is attached to the hotel; Great bar area with lots of seating. In fact, the check-in counter is attached to the bar. The lobby is great for meeting up with friends or just hanging out. Rooms are minimalistic, no actual closets, bathrooms are fairly small, etc. We’ve stayed here a few times in the last several years and the property is being well maintained. The workers are always friendly and seem to enjoy working here.
- 5/5
No room service- however, bar upon entry - great eats- snacks- DJ, Pool table- Games- Just fun and a great vibe! Staff excellent- Manager Stephanie was so accommodating and warm! Personable and welcoming!
- 4/5
Very close to Belmont canpus
- 4/5
Cute hotel. Room felt a tad small. No refrigerator (or microwave, but i can do without that) is a bummer. Did not get told about parking with key card until i had spent $66 on parking on my own. Staff were all nice. Loved the bar area, even had live music. Very walkable to shops and dining. Pet friendly but not a lot of outside grass areas.
- 5/5
Great location to the Vanderbilt freshmen campus
- 5/5
A little loud during nighttime
- 5/5
This hotel was top notch. Great location with a fun atmosphere. The staff was fantastic. Yoki was especially helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend.
- 3/5
Sheets and pillow cases were stained Other than that employees were very awesome time spent there was amazing just needs a little something
- 2/5
The customer service was not friendly. Poor communication. Received a phone call, and was hung up on.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean. Great location.
- 5/5
Cool
- 5/5
We had a great time in Nashville and loved the area
- 3/5
Went to see Nashville SC and the hotel was super close to the stadium.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff was so nice and welcoming !
- 1/5
Refused to accept cash And told me after already paying $350 for a room in advance that if I couldn’t give him my credit card which I didn’t bring that they would not allow me to stay there so I had to actually drive and get a gift card and even when I did that there were still no room available Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced any hotel in the world
- 5/5
Coolest hotel ever. Love the check-in at the bar. Very comfortable.
- 4/5
Clean rooms. Convenient location. Met all of our needs for a quick trip into town. Bed was comfortable and shower had good water pressure.
- 4/5
My family had a nice stay at this hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel felt very clean! It was easy walking distance to lots of nice eateries. The games in the lobby were a big hit with the kids (shuffle board, darts, connect 4, pool, ect.). There are not coffee makers in room but they have complimentary coffee 6-11am daily, as well as tokens for beer, wine and espresso. We would stay at this location again.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Excellent BOUTIQUE hotel! Very unique and cute! By alot of resturants minutes from downtown. great concept
- 3/5
The Moxy format is not for us. Rooms are very poorly equipped and lack chairs, tables etc. room decor is very cold
- 3/5
It was just ok for the price. No coffee or mini fridge in your room. And no ice on the floors either. The machine downstairs with soda u could buy was broken. So had to ask for ice and a glass at the bar for any drinks purchased. The employees were nice and I don’t know if I could have been if everyone coming down was asking for cups and ice all the time. Mgmt needs to consider this nicety to have for people spending upper prices in the area. Heard other guest calling it a murder mystery hotel due to the dark paint dark carpet and dark lighting in the hallways. I had not thought that until I heard them say it….so there is that…. And no coffee in the room either. U get it free but had to completely dress to go to the bar for that as well…..other than that it was fine. And we felt safe
- 4/5
Only drawback is that the a/c would not allow a setting lower than 68 degrees. Was an issue for us as we like to sleep in something a little lower than that.
- 5/5
Great, reasonably priced and centrally located hotel.
- 5/5
Very unique hotel! Loved the minimalist decor & the bar check in was cute! Only thing I would change is the ability to change the temp on the rooms. Great trendy experience and apparently the local college students love it!
- 5/5
Would stay again!
- 1/5
Bartender is the receptionist, very rude and terrible customer service. On day 1, while in our room another guest showed up to our room with a key that works! Thankfully we knew them but imagine if that was not the case. Walls are all blue. Dogs peeing inside the property multiple times. Wouldn’t stay here again honestly. It was close to location so convenient but I would try a different hotel. Cannot believe this is a Marriott…
- 5/5
Checking in at the bar was such a fun/interesting experience! Rinishka, who checked us in, was wonderful, as was every other person who we interacted with. They went above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable and tailored as they could. Comfortable, clean, aesthetic rooms, pet friendly (with a reasonable fee!), and close to lots of good food. The bar across the street got a little rowdy late at night (this was a Saturday, so to be expected), but head phones or ear plugs will block it out.
- 5/5
My wife and I had an exceptional weekend in Nashville, thanks in no small part to the fabulous Moxy Hotel in the Vanderbilt Area! The staff was very friendly, warm, and informative when in came to asking for things to do within walking and Uber distance. We did notice the thermostat reset overnight (likely to conserve energy) but that was a very small inconvenience and did not really impact our comfort too much. We came to party, and have a romantic evening after the dancing finished! We got what we were looking for - Nashville can go pretty hard, and the Moxy was the perfect crash pad for us!
- 5/5
Loved our stay
- 5/5
Very unique and urban vibe.

The hotel met our needs in every way. The staff was beyond friendly and super efficient. The lobby is a perfect place to hang out. Lots of extras are included in the reservation that added to the experience. The room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to a number of restaurants, shops, and Vanderbilt University and Hospital.

The Moxy is a charming place to stay and very well located with several desirable shops and restaurants in walking distance. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Yes, there is a small window between the bathroom and main room but it is privacy glass. We were very happy with our stay and would stay at this location again!
