Vancouver Motel

The owners are wonderful! Fresh baked treats, any problems they do their best to fix them immediately, pets welcome, and child friendly! The pool was scrubbed and cleaned daily the cleaners were very sweet and accommodating when requesting extra towels and pillows. Only a few floors which was amazing! Walking distance to walk to the beach barefoot! What more could you ask for?!? Looking forward to our next stay in Oct! We were booked for the landmark which we have used every year but this year we will be returning to the Vancouver Motel!!

A clean basic room in an older style motel. This is not a Holiday Inn or Hampton, but it's much cheaper with clean rooms, a larger than normal refrigerator, microwave, a nice pool, and located with easy beach access. Extremely friendly desk staff who will supply ice when you ask for it. It is also pet friendly if you have a furry friend to bring with you. No breakfast, but there are a lot of places to eat nearby.

We always love staying here. The staff is always so friendly and makes u feel like home. The rooms are always clean never find a bug either not even a hair left in the tub etc. it’s perfect size for us a family of four. Kitchen fridge beds bathroom. Three years in a row we have stayed here and will be back another year. It’s not one of the newest fanciest places but it’s down to earth and family friendly we take hospitality over fancy any day.

Outdoor rugs/sidewalks could use a good cleaning but the rooms are well maintained. It's an older hotel so there are somethings that reflect that, but it is directly on the beach and convenient to almost anything you could need or want to do.

I arrived about 7:55 pm. The front desk lady was very friendly. Got to our room. It was clean. Liked the little kitchen area. The bathroom light didn't work well. I liked that it was very well lite outside.

Balcony/view, mostly clean Fridge was not working,lamps were gross, tv was terrible, stairs to third floor were worse than expected, someone was arrested in the parking lot, pool was small and creepy people watched it, no ice machine except when the office was open.

However the property looks NOTHING like the pictures. NOTHING!! This is not a well maintained property. My room had sand in the sink, pee in the toilet. Water all over the floor. Outlets didn't work. Headboards were not attached to beds. Truely looked like an abandoned room in an old building. They did refund the rest of the stay but totally false advertising.

The only thing I liked about the property was the pool. The room was disgusting. The bathroom was nasty. I pulled back the blanket on the bed and there was a long strand of hair on the sheets. The room had roaches. A lot of them

I like that the room was clean when I enter it. I like that I could sit on the porch. This hotel was close to Walmart, Dollar tree and the hospital i needed to see my nephew. There was roaches in the room. I had to turn on the hot water and the cold water so the water can get hot in the shower. There was rust spots on the refrigerator. I went to the office to ask for roach spray and was told they only had industrial spray. So I went to Walmart and brought roach spray. I shared this with my 2 son's who also had roaches in their rooms.

First, the staff was wonderful. Really makes the whole community look better to be greeted by and helped by friendly staff. I really felt welcome and cared for. The room was big. It had a full kitchen. My room was ocean front with a nice private patio. There was a nice big area for my dogs, and it was kept clean and well stocked with bags for their waste. Plenty of easy parking. Very nice pool, well maintained. The hotel is old, a relic, surrounded by more modern giants. But I think this smaller hotel is more welcoming and less impersonal. The bed was very comfortable with quality pillows and sheets. I’d not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends and I’ll certainly stay again, but longer next time. Also, I did see a lifeguard stand just in front of the hotel on the beach. I got just the rest I needed at the Vancouver. Thank you!

We chose the Vancouver Motel because it was oceanfront and pet friendly. Delighted with those two amenities. It is an older motel but very clean and we had an abundance of towels and wash rags and at a great price. Also the host was very friendly and welcoming.

Always like our stay here. It's no frills but has a nice, clean pool and backs right up to the beach.

Room was dated but clean. WiFi was spotty despite multiple access points. Could not maintain connect enough to watch tv. Was great for a last minute reservation to avoid weather.

I traveled with my dogs and the price was very reasonable compared to surrounding hotels. It was very clean, great employees, very respectful, and right on the beach . My family and I had a great time . If you’re here to party this is not the place . You will go to jail sweet old lady not putting up with bullcrap.

It was right at the beach and it was nice to look at the ocean. The hotel was clean and the staff was really so nice. The place is in a good location surrounded by a lot of things to do. The beach was clean and not crowded at all. This is an older Motel but for what you pay it works. The A/C was excellent and really handled the heat well. There was plenty of hot water. There was a nice pool with a very deep end (7 feet). I would book again for sure.

Paid a little more for ocean view, it was well worth it. The room had a balcony looking out over the ocean and a wall of windows. Its a small, quaint hotel in a quieter section of Myrtle Beach. The best thing was the staff, very caring and personable. I hope and pray that they don’t get gobbled up by the giant hotel moguls.

The beds were harder than the floor, the rooms were not clean, the toilet was clogged with poop when we arrived. It was loud and we got no rest at all due to noise and discomfort.

The hotel is very tired. Lamp shade was falling apart and the mattresses were WW I surplus. That said you get what you pay for. It was cheap for a great view of the ocean and the staff was nice

Dirty no beach view bugs everywhere, drains in sink bathtub and toilet wouldn’t drain for hours.

View was beautiful. Amenities were all that were promised. Staff went above and beyond the call of duty!!!

Lynn was lovely, but the motel is poorly maintained which makes cleanliness almost impossible. Not enough dishes, silverware, etc. in the kitchen, where the sink was almost falling through the countertop. No sink drain plug which made washing dishes difficult (or be charged an extra $20). Extra pet fee of $15 per night, which I didn’t see stated anywhere before checking in.

This is our second time here and we love being able to spend the time on the balcony with our fur babies while watching the sunrise! Place is clean and the kitchen in the rooms make it even more convenient! We will be back!

I dont require alot when i rent a room. I need a clean place to sleep and shower. So this place met most of my needs. The floors clearly hadnt been cleaned in a while, but other surface and areas were cleaned. The bathroom light had issues working, and the outlet didnt work to charge my phone. Great beach access, super helpful and nice staff.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel really needs to be updated, it was ok for a night or 2. The property was for the most part clean, but some of the carpets had an odor. We were on the top floor and we would get all the smoke from people smoking that would seep into our room. The beds were not comfortable.The pool chairs are older and some are breaking same with the regular chairs and umbrella’s. The parking was very tight, and sometimes there was people parked there that were not from the hotel.

room was listed as ocean front but there was a parking lot between the room and the ocean. the place is old and smelly. Paint peeling, rusting metal, filthy floors (had to throw away a pair of white socks) old beds, microwave oven was pitted on the inside, oven looked to be 30 years old, wife killed a roach in the bathroom, phone did not work. Overall was the worst room we have ever stayed in, Should be razed!!!!!

Property is very outdated. The linens and pillows are very worn. There was only cable TV, which was a little frustrating (couldn’t change the input to HDMI to stream or play video game). With that being said the room was clean, it is perfectly located on the beach (big plus), and the staff was very friendly. I know what to expect now and will visit again for a day trip

I paid for ocean view room but didn't get it but I wasn't pressed too much about it. I hate that I couldn't hook up my PS5 since I couldn't get to the HDMI channel but overall it was decent room.

Nasty and disgusting the place had bed bugs and the place was not clean. The bathrooms was dirty. The showers was nasty. The shower curtains was nasty. The place was disgusting as the bears was filthy sheets and linen on bed was dirty, not clean like they took in. Pour the sheets back on the bed and made it look like the sheets was clean. The room was filthy. Nothing when you pull up to the property, you can look at the property and tell it's nasty. The place is nasty is bedbugs there the rooms is nasty.

When I first got there in the room I cut the room out the room was not clean at all and checked the beds and it had bed bugs and sheets and all the linen on the beds was dirty and and blood on sheets the bathroom shower curtains was not clean at all they was dirty and nasty a video. The whole room is nasty blood everywhere on beds. Bedbugs under the bed is nasty. The sheets is dirty. The bed linens is dirty. The room is dirty. It's nasty when you turn back to comforters look like the bed was just not clean the sheets was just throw back over on the bed and never been cleaned. The place is not worth living in. I will never ever go back there again. I seen the room and I went back up front and told them I want my money back. I was not staying there and give me my room money cancel my room. Positives: room was spacious and had a full size refrigerator, toaster and microwave. Front office staff was courteous, efficient and warm. Not so positive: Motel was far from full yet loud. Motorcycle started and revved to the max starting at 11:00 pm, room above us noisy with dog who seldom stopped running; angry man pounding on our room at 1;00 am. Police activity starting at 3:00 am continuing til about 5:00 am.Although we were wiped out tired we were relieved when it was light so that we could leave.Plus, no blankets, just a top sheet with a lightweight bedspread.

That whole place needs to be updated. They need to soundproof the room’s a little bit being they let you have your dogs and when they’re sniffing the joint door and barking at you, not cool.

Never stayed. What I have to sayI cannot fit it all this little box. So I'll be brief the place was a dump. I'm sorry but thibgs in the room were dirty and things didnt work, like lights. I lasted 5 minutes in the room and i never took a bag up with me because i knew i wouldnt be staying. I put the keys back in envelope and in the mailbox and said soory cant stay here. They did refund my deposit.

We liked how friendly the staff was! She was absolutely pleasant to converse and do business with. When we first walked into the room, it smelt very clean. We thought, "Wow! They really wanted to make sure the place was spotless. " Upon closer inspection. We found socks that had been left behind, a lady's used press on nail, and it appeared the bedding had not been changed on one of the beds.It had animal hair and was missing a cover sheet. The place is under new management, however, and we understand that it may be a work in progress getting things turned around.

The ocean view rooms have private balconies, but we were only able to find a few minutes during our trip we could be out there and smokers weren't out on the other balconies. If you are looking to see the ocean from the ocean view rooms you need to be on the second floor, there is parking between the building and the beach so if a lifted truck parks there then the first floor would not be able to see the ocean. Staff were very friendly in all encounters. Other guests were not, there were guests on the floor below us screaming and slamming doors until after midnight both nights we stayed, ironically the screaming was about other rooms being too loud. The pet policy is listed incorrectly on Expedia, it shows $15/dog/night but it's actually $25/dog/night. For being on the beach they do a good job of cleaning the sand out of the rooms, but overall upkeep is seriously lacking, with many drywall patches that didn't get sanded down let alone painted. All in all you get what you pay for, it's significantly cheaper than other hotels on the beach and there's reason for that. And if you don't mind a little rough and a lot of smoke this is a great location with friendly staff.

Nobody in office at 7pm for checkin. Was not a double queen room I reserved. Had no hot water. Owner tried to tell me the double beds were queen and I just had to let the water run. We let the water run for 20 minutes and it was cold. Did not stay the second night I had reserved. Had to find another place to stay so I could take a shower

The 6 kids in the room next door spent the first 4 hours yelling, screaming, bouncing around, and let’s not leave out the crying, etc. no adult supervision. Endless. About 9:30, the noise stopped - yay! Doh. Nope. Now I know why. The adults have kicked off the party, complete with wall-shaking stereo, thumping bass, and door wide open so they can share. One patron said , “I don’t give a f*ck” when asked to keep the noise down - trying to sleep. I have literally packed my bags and paid for another room at another hotel to try and get some sleep. Ghetto does not describe this place accurately enough. A 1-star rating is being overtly generous.

I think a 10 is a luxurious property; this was nothing close to that. However, we did only pay $67 and we got exactly what we paid for so maybe that’s where the 10s come from. Dogs are great but only if they don’t bark - a lot. It’s an old school motel between huge hotel/condo buildings which is nostalgic but the place needs a major renovation. Staff were very kind to us.

Some things didn't work (we couldn't get the Tv to work, but we don't watch much tv anyway, low shower water pressure, hot water took forever to come through), there were rust stains on the interior door, etc. A good paint job and some sprucing up is needed. Mostly though, we enjoyed our stay. It's a very laid-back atmosphere. Check-in was straight forward and easy. The lady who checked us in was so nice and pleasant. We definitely will consider coming back at some point. I will request a second or third floor room next time.

Nice view. Friendly staff that showed us our room in advance. Nice cleaning staff. Many guest rent here yearly for month long periods in the winter. Property a little old but well maintained. Good value. Close to several good restaurant and shopping areas.

Everyone was so nice and it was clean but it was VERY hot. The one unit in the room either wasn’t working properly or it wasn’t enough. We had to purchase fans and it was miserable.

The ocean view was the only good thing. The facility needs an elevator and needs to upgrade appliances, curtains, sheets, and bedspreads. Since this is a pet-friendly location, they also need to check for cleanliness on and behind furniture.

Motel is an older motel. It was very clean with fridge a little bigger than the dorm size. Mattresses were clean also. For the price i paid for the nights it was well worth it

They called ahead of time to see when we would arrive; we gave a time frame and arrived at the end of it which was after the check-in time. We were told we would have to wait because the room wasn't ready. We dropped our stuff in the room and went to the beach. When we got back we realized there was dog hair everywhere, the floors felt slimy, mold around the room and in the air conditioner, there was stuff from other people under the bed including a leaking water bottle, dog treats, food. We got the room specifically for the kitchen and only 1 burner worked on very low and another burner shocked my husband when he tried to use it. The tub wouldn't drain properly even after they "fixed it". The sheets on one of the beds were dirty. We asked for a mop to clean and they said they didn't have one. The biggest thing for us even after all of that was there were roaches. Not just palmetto bugs that are common around water but small cockroaches. We complained and they said they didn't have roaches and offered us a different room 2 days later. By that point we had cleaned what we needed to and if 1 room has roaches they are in others. Management came in our room and sprayed but we continued to see roaches the entire time. Babies and adults even during the day. If I would've had the means to leave I wouldn't have even stayed 1 night. The people were nice but it wasn't enough for those conditions. The ONLY good thing I can say is the location and pool were nice.

We had balcony room with ocean view on 3rd floor. The door was so broken it hurt my hands every single time trying to lock or unlock it. It’s a key, not a card. Easy fix, just get a new door/lock! There are roaches. I saw baby and big sizes so we will not return. The beds are hard. The workers are very friendly, but I won’t recommend any hotel I see roaches in. They clean everything and I mean everything in purple fabuloso so if you hate that smell you will hate this place. The pool is wonderful. The location and view is wonderful. Just not clean and doors are EXTREMELY hard to line up and get it locked. There were hairs all over our bathroom so that hasn’t been cleaned in who knows how long. That’s just gross really. The price is not worth the filth.

I spoke with multiple members of the staff and they made me feel so welcome. Even talked and played with my two little girls. Giving them ice pops and poop toys. So run down and really not very clean BUT the kids loved this place for the pool and location to ocean. We won’t go again but it was good for this time.

It’s not the best looking but the staff are very welcoming and tentative to guests. We stay because we can bring our dogs with us.

Older dated hotel but was clean and staff was great. Nothing fancy . If you’re looking for a clean place to stay and older furniture/ fixtures don’t bother you , this is fine.

It was ok. If were not for our dog I would not stay there. They were friendly and nice very responsive. Needs an upgrade

The hotel in general is clean. it needs some repairs and it's outdated. All the staff was really nice, specially the cleaning ladies. The beach is right next to the hotel, so that was great. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The food choices around the hotel was amazing and affordable. The hotel has a pool and has a view of the ocean which is walking distance. Parking was convenient and free! The rooms were tidy, neat and the air condition was on point. Everything was great I would stay here again. Me and my husband had a great 3 day stay!

I stayed here 33 years ago and was so happy that the Vancouver hadnt been replaced with another high rise or gone over to the sketchy side like so many other small motels I used to stay in. Yes, it is old and it shows in places. You won't find the newest furnishings here. If these things bother you, don't stay here. What you will find is a clean and comfortable room that is steps from the ocean, a clean pool, and your vehicle. Check in took all of 5 minutes and our room was exactly as pictured, clean, and well stocked with towels. It is a pet friendly motel but there wasnt any evidence of that in our room. The beds werent the latest, but they had snow white sheets and fluffy pillows and we had no trouble sleeping in them. Good clean cold refrigerator and AC unit that had no trouble keeping the room cool in the heat wave we had that week. We come for the beach and this is the perfect place to enjoy it without waiting on an elevator or going through a lobby to get there. Convenient shower to rinse off. Staff was friendly and never far away. The atmosphere felt safe and was so relaxed, and we met some very nice people staying there. It was easy to get in and out to go places and we had plenty of dining options less than 10 minutes away. We extended our stay there and have already booked a room for next month. Safe to say that this will be our go-to for Myrtle Beach!😀

Stayed from Wednesday to Saturday, my little family enjoyed our stay. While the furnishing were older they derved their purpose, the owner and staff went above and beyond to accommodate any request we had. Beach access was excellent, pool at hotel was great and the environment was overall welcoming and friendly. We will definitely stay here again, if ever in South Carolina.

Bed was ok. AC was awesomely cold! Now the bad part, internet really sucks! Motel is old and could use some upgrades but it’s still workable. Had a great time with my bestie! We will be back! Just next time we wanna go upstairs so we can see the ocean better.

The staff was great. But it was a little dirty. I brought back a giant pimento bug in my suitcase. No mirror in the room just a little one in the bathroom. Additional charges when I arrived.

We stayed in 101. While it is a little worn down, especially in the bathroom, it was clean and the staff was friendly.

It is very ran down. The shower knobs were broke so we could barely run the hot water without the risk of burning.

I guess you get what u pay for, our mistake. The pool was nice & the motel is close to the beach.

Flood lights from pool shining into room all night . 1:30am the sound of someone kicking in a door over and over . Toilet ran all night , super flat pillows just an unpleasant stay all around

Staff was nice. Facility was good. Only situation was family kept getting shocked when they would try to push light button on and when maintenance man would come in, he acted like it was ok. Told us to use a towel to turn light on and off. Not cool. Other than this, stay was good.

The AC barely worked so we had to buy a box fan. The sink didn’t drain at all and that was nasty! The shower head was tilted and sprayed all over the floor - there was no way to adjust it. The beds weren’t comfortable. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE IT WAS AWFUL

One of the best little places ive stayed in a while owner is always around during the day and is very nice the cleaning ladys are amazing and the pool always clean will be my new spot to come when comming into myrtle i felt safe as well.

I am handicapped and i needed a room to accommodate me with a walker it did so i like the ease of the parking and location of the beach it needs an upgrade but for the price we made due for a weekend. The staff was excellent, as i arrived they seems they knew who i was and asked to help me several times getting my things out the car..i havent been on a vacation in a while due to health issues. they all made me smile again.. thank you for making me feel special

If we would have seen our room before we pd we would have never stayed. Bugs on the floor, micro was rusted inside, hair dryer was dangerous bc it had no cover on the plug, there was a washer/dryer outside our room that was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen, have pictures to prove and would never use even if you pd me. It sounded like a truck was running that’s how loud. I mean who has washer units outside? 3 out of 4 outlets didn’t work. Wish I could get my money back!

We booked our room knowing and understanding that this is an older property, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean (minus all the sand we brought in from the beach), and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. We love the location right on the beach. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Vancouver. The staff were polite and helpful. They take care of you with any needs you may have. The room was clean and stocked with complementary essentials. The pool was clean and a valuable resource to have. The best part of our stay was being pet-friendly. No restrictions on size so I was able to take my Labrador with me. The only negative I could say about Vancouver was there is no elevator. I say this being a single parent hauling our items upstairs. I had planned to use my wagon. To turn that back into a positive, the owner helped me carry my items up the stairs. Great place to stay on a budget and relax. I’ll be back!

This is the quaint, nostalgic motel you've been looking for! The staff is awesome. The owner is on site and is very friendly and wants to make sure you enjoy your stay. The atmosphere is FUN and relaxed. The pool is cool and there is a mellow party vibe during the day and early evening hours. Not too loud. Just family-friendly fun. The beach is beautiful and accessible. The motel is older. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned and basic. We did encounter palmetto bugs in and out of the room but that is to be expected in a motel this old by the beach. It is a GREAT, affordable place to stay and our family would recommend to anyone whether you are stopping by for the night or for a week away!

Over all we had a really good stay. The pool is nice. Great access to the beach. The room was good but it does need some upgrades done to it. We had a full kitchen, the stove top had 4 eyes but only 1 worked. The workers were very nice and were willing to do anything to take care of us during our stay. For the price we got the room for we are happy with our stay!

This is a nice clean safe motel on the ocean. The room was very clean. The beds were comfy and the pool was clean. Only issue was the AC unit couldn’t seem to keep the room too cool during the day. Granted it was around a 100 degrees outside. It did cool down enough at night to sleep comfortably though.

We had a late check in after the office closed and the instructions we received on a phone call were clear and accurate. The common area to get to your room was very run down. The carpet looked threadbare and dirty. The floor in the room was somewhat dirty almost sticky. The kitchen area looked like it was very rundown. There was no ice as the ice machine was supposedly in the office which was closed. The bed was pretty hard. But everything worked in the room. Probably wouldn’t stay again. But the view was beautiful with a morning sunrise.

Only like was it was next too the beach. Dislikes hotel rules not enforce by staff. Marijuana was smoked in adjoining rooms and our room reeked of Marijuana. A truck parked next to the outdoor grilling area which person parked so close to the grill that you couldn't use the grill. Occupants next to our room stayed up all night talking very loudly keeping us up all night . No staff to call because office closed at by 8pm. Worst problem was the room hasn't been upgraded in Years !!! Would never recommend this place to my enemies.

Our stay at the Vancouver was perfect! It’s a great little motel right on the beach. The rooms were clean, the motel was quiet, and the staff was AMAZING. We are planning to stay here again on our next visit to Myrtle Beach.

Just wonderful

Staff was very friendly. However the place is ran down and the room we got had a very bad chemical smell and it had water damge. I do not recomend anyone with kids should stay there. We ended up staying down the road with friends at a nicer resort. So if you have the money to get a nicer place, go get it because that place isn't worth it, there are better hotels in the area.

Genuinely loved staying here! Is it the newest most high-tech most innovative motel? Absolutely not. But it’s clean, the owner and staff were friendly and helpful and welcoming, and it’s right on the beach! It was perfect for me, my husband, and my dog on our birthday/anniversary trip. Would recommend!

We arrived later in the day, so the office was closed. We got our room key from the key box and went to our room. The room smelled like urine and everything was just dirty and gross. The ceiling in the bathroom had two holes. I’ve never walked into a hotel room so dirty, even my 7 year old didn’t want to sit on the bed. We stood in the room for about 10 minutes debating on what to do, since we had drove over 7 hours there. We ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and drove an hour away to stay with family instead. It was just awful.

This was the 3rd time vacationing here. It was great as usual! Top notch. Right by the beach, well kept pool, plenty of space for everything. Recommend.

Room was poor condition, ripped curtains, refrigerator still had food in freezer, shower handle fell off, Not all plug ins worked, dog next door barked for a full 3 hours even after calling the front desk, kitchen sink ran on low all night n cudnt shut it off n no breakfast was offered ! The service alone deserves 10 stars! Mr Raj is thee sweetest business man I've ever met♥️ The housekeeper's deserve 10 stars because BOTH rooms were IMMACULATE (TY MS Addie). I'm in a jam because the service alone will make me come back. But Mr Raj needs to REINVEST!! He has a gold mine that needs a little TLC! Last the travelers are the one STAR PEOPLE!!! U KNOW WHEN YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR BUGS/.DIRTY LIVING MANNERISMS WITH YOU! ITS DIFFICULT TO KEEP A BUSINESS UP WHEN CUSTOMERS CAUSE THE BULK OF THE PROBLEMS THEN WANT TO COMPLAIN!!! THEN AGAIN WHEN YOU RAISE THE PRICES YOU KEEP OUT THE RIFT RAFT!!! I WILL GIVE THIS PLACE ANOTHER GO😇. Thanks Mr Raj n staff!! ❤️
