The ONLY thing I like was the convincing of the location due to an event I was attending

The overall cleanliness of the hotel and resort was unacceptable. Common areas appeared dirty and poorly maintained, and our room looked as though it had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. The air conditioning in our room did not work, the towels appeared unchanged, and housekeeping never serviced our room during our stay. The bathroom was particularly unsanitary, and I have photos documenting both the condition of our room and the hallways throughout the property. It was clear that cleanliness and maintenance were not being addressed. Additionally, the property looked nothing like the photos advertised online. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and did not meet even basic expectations for cleanliness, comfort, or customer service.

River City Cafe was great, the breakfast buffet was ok at other restaurant, waiter didn't speak other than to take drink order. Front desk ladies acted like I was a bother to ask them questions about where stuff was at the hotel. The men out front helping with the door and luggage were always so kind. I will be back just know how to approach front desk ladies, with an attitude.

We had a great time. The music by the pool bar was great. The room was pretty nice. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself was a little outdated. But overall it was alot of fun. We loved the beach being right there. And enjoyed the music alot.

The staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, and I appreciate that they refunded the unused portion of our stay when we chose to leave early. If you like live music, this is your place! As they played until 11pm, every night. People flocked from other hotels to party here, so pretty busy. Unfortunately, the room itself looked nothing like the photos used in the booking listing. It was a dated and poorly maintained unit, with chipping popcorn ceilings, baseboards coming off the walls, flickering lights, a non-functioning dishwasher, grime around the refrigerator, stained carpeting, and worn-out showers. 2 bedroom suite — the 2nd bedroom was a closet with no windows and poor airflow. The parking stairwell smelled strongly of urine, parking was extremely limited, and the overall condition of the property felt neglected. Seeing another renovated room that actually matched the listing photos only reinforced the feeling that we’d been given a much lower-quality room than expected. We ended up leaving days early because the experience had become so disappointing, I felt swindled.

The room was dirty. Someone’s old, moldy bathing suits were left in the closet. The bed linens smelled like musty dog. The bathroom and bath tub were absolutely disgusting. It was so bad that we left 2 days early.

Do not believe the ratings!! It’s for the timeshare holders. They have clean updated rooms with another cleaning staff. The regular rooms are nasty disgusting, the beds were horrible to sleep in. They will not clean your rooms. Carpet stains, stained chairs, bathroom not clean, smells like smoke!!!!! Never again!!!!!!!!!

A lamp shade was missing from one of the wall lights, and there was a ton of sand on some of the chairs, and hair from someone else was still in the shower. I got the impression that they just change out the towels and sheets (I hope) and that's it. The pitcher that goes with the coffee maker was messed up... Somehow someone turned the handle to be next to the spout, which led to a mess while I was still half asleep in the morning. I'm fairness to the hotel, the ended up bringing a new coffee maker to my room. If you're fancy, give this place a pass. However, if you just need a place to shower, sleep, a toilet, and beach access, this will do it.

Room 232 room floor was sticky, bad view, moved us to 1132, dish washer with water sitting in the bottom with a missing wheel on bottom rack with rust. Toilet not bolted tight made a loud noise sitting on it. No cereal bowls, had to ask for a spatula and pan. Ice maker didn’t work. Nice view and beds were clean. The room needs some patching in the first bathroom, cabinets are peeling.

Many things on property in disrepair and didn't look very clean. Bar downstairs was very loud. If that's your scene, go nuts. It made sleep hard for me though.

We love staying here for the entertainment. The older feeling inside is very comfortable as well.

Biggest complaint is the band plays till 11pm, this is great if you came for the music but if youre trying to sleep it sounds like they are right outside your window....and we were on the 9th floor.

Rooms are very dated and need to be updated, the sheets on the bed were scratchy and uncomfortable. The smell of marijuana was prevalent throughout the whole stay, the air conditioning kept cycling on (very cold and the brought the mamajuana smell into the room ) and off (very warm making sleeping almost impossible pulling the covers on and off constantly) The free lunch at windows restaurant was horrible and we ending up throwing it out and going to another restaurant. The elevators smelt like vomit and complaints to the front desk seemed to go unanswered. The beach was the only bright spot it is beautiful.

Could have done without the construction noise from the pipe crew outside but great location and weather turned out to be good after a few days. Food in the area was great. Golf was great so it was a very good trip. Weather took a while to clear and beach was being restored from damage.

I believe I paid for an oceanfront but ended up with a garage front. I stayed there many of times and always booked oceanfront. This time I had my two grandkids age 4&5 with me. I bragged how cool it would be looking at the ocean but we looked at the garage instead. Maybe next time will be better.

Loved the beach access and views. Loved the lazy river and outside pool area. Had a wonderful shops in walking distance that we enjoyed for ice cream, smoothies and coffee! We left our personal items in our room while at the pool, and had some money missing upon our return. We did report it to the front desk and filled out an incident report but never heard anything about it. Did request that nobody have access to our room for the rest of our visit and as far as we are aware no one entered our room after that. We did take all valuable and personal items with us from that point on. We were very anxious about trusting the staff.

Soooo this was the problem… the stag was absolutely amazing! The food wasn’t too bad and I didn’t order room service and the pools were clean. However, the flooring in the elevator was stained, the hallway had a smell to it but the room itself smelled good. The room we had did not match the pictures on Expedia. The ceiling was peeling, the tub had a hole on the side, the bathroom door was peeling. There was a door that was connected to the bathroom door of the other guests room and It was extremely difficult to close the sliding glass door. Other than that the ocean view was beautiful 😍

This place was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When we got to our room you can just tell it was very dirty and outdated. There was a bug on the bed and leftover trash in the trashcan. When I went to the front desk to switch rooms they didn’t even seem surprised or apologetic, needless to say the second room they put me in was the same outcome and the toilet was leaking and the closet door was broke. After that I went to the front desk and canceled my reservation. Save your money and time and stay elsewhere!

We absolutely LOVE the property! We have been coming here every year to the same location for 10 years! Our hotel room this time was the worst we have ever stayed in, but the location, staff and camaraderie keep us coming back!

The beach view is awesome so I highly recommend an ocean front room! In fact the whole beach experience sold me on this location. The pools and lazy river are fine as well. The restaurants were just ok tho the people who work in them were very kind. Nice to have a full laundry fscility tho we did not use it. The music was fun. I’d stay again for the price - was definitely worth it. But I really hope they renovate the property.

I noticed when we checked in that there’s an early check out fee, at first I thought that was strange, but after my one night, I understand.

Would be nice if they had ramps to the beach to get to get wagons to and from, but other than that, it was great

Really super responsive to room problems. We had a bad tv; They responded in half an hour with a new TV. Later had a light go out, and they responded within the hour. Staff was great...

I liked that the front desk let us view several rooms. Elevators quick and clean. Amenities nice in our efficiency. Easy everyday to exchange towels for the bathroom and kitchen at the front desk.

No bugs in the room. Beach access Everything is just old and outdated and ugly to look at. Do not follow the pictures they provide it looks nothing like what they advertised. The furniture looks like people have been eating chunks of it it’s pieces missing from the furniture, just scratched up dirty furniture. Broken crooked mirror and very ugly curtains. The room stank like people who got out the pool and didn’t shower. The floor is dirty i never once took my shoes off when i was in there. I slept on my airport blanket on the bed the entire time. The water in the bathroom smells like shit when you turn it on. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNTIL THEY UPGRADE IT SUCKS. The parking garage is scary as fuck at night with a slow ass elevator. I hate that I got no pictures

I liked the bar on the first floor They need to update furniture bed was not so comfortable they charge all this money for bike weekend and the place used to be very nice years ago I see the decline in furniture if you put nice comfy furniture people don’t mind paying parking was terrible had to park in overflow with a broken elevator you can be parked on the top level and have to walk or climb up all those steps because elevator broke smh that was my last stay there

Room was oceanfront but nothing special and could use a refresh. Paint was scuffed in several places and the molding in the bathroom needs replaced, as does the noisy bathroom fan. Coffee maker and microwave are both on their last legs. It was clean and bug free and ok if you don't plan to be in the room much. One other thing, if you aren't one for live music don't book oceanfront. The pool area has a tiki bar and band every night and they play loudly well into the night. You won't be able to hear the TV in the room and you'll not sleep till their done playing. Parking can be tricky with oversized vehicles but wasn't terrible.

I did not have enough rags and towels but the bathroom was clean the bed was clean but they need to put enough rags and towels in the bathroom except one rag for two people and make sure the freezers are clean and make sure the ice cream are empty and refills when they clean the room I am a regular over there I love that place but the staff has to keep up

Room was not cleaned. Found socks in the MADE BED, coffee pot moldy, poop and boogers smeared in the bathroom. Beach view from floor 14 was amazing! Staff were always so helpful when inquiring! :) ocean Annie’s was also a blast the many nights we went down! Property was clean and free of garbage and such as well!

the staff was very nice the parking was ridiculous. the room was ran down , we asked for another room because it didn’t look how it looked on booking.com and the room they tried to give us was worse and it stinked extremely bad, furniture looked old and ran down and we couldn’t stand the smell at all so we just stayed back in the original room.

I like the live music and the restaurant, I like having a hot tub and indoor pool available. The vending machine did not accept card. There’s not enough places to get a sweet treat especially late at night.

It’s in a great location to be close to a lot of areas. Some of the staff what alright. Majority did their job and was very polite. The room we had had some problems with the sliding door off the track when we first came. Maintenance came in and fixed it. Our door didn’t shut properly and they fixed that also.

Amenities on site such as restaurants, clubs, gift shop, pools, lazy river, etc. easy beach access, staff very helpful and responsive. Food was good in the river city grill. Live band at Ocean Annie's. Was nice being on beach, but not having to deal with Ocean Blvd. traffic. Room needs refurbishing. lamp missing switch had to plug in and unplug to cut on and off. Saw a Roach in the room. Had to constantly reset air conditioner it kept losing its set point and temp would go up, even without leaving the room and activating the energy saving system. (Was flashing low battery, told front desk but no repair made.) There were no towels in the room when we checked in. Mattress was worn and uncomfortable. Poor parking lot design, as you go up levels, you can only see part of the spaces, you have to drive up and then back up to center of garage to go up to the next level.

It was a fun place to stay with kids... everything we needed was right on site....pools, hot tubs, lazy river, beach, restaurants, shops, free water park passes and discounted go cart passes!!! We can't wait to come back!

We enjoy staying at Ocean Sands even though the parking is a nightmare. Room is nice and spacious. Ocean view was good. Love having a band every day. Wished the umbrellas were up for rent in May.

Staff were polite. My room living room was slippery and the restroom vanity light was out, and staff took care of it in less than 5mins. Housekeeping cleaned the room everyday before noon , which was great. Definitely recommend the resort.

For the price we paid, the experience was absolutely not worth it. Everything felt overpriced considering the condition of the property, and sleeping was difficult because of the constant noise. The only real positive is the location — being directly on the beach is convenient and the ocean view is nice. Unfortunately, that was not enough to make up for the overall experience. I would not stay here again.

I loved the river Cafe restaurant, the staff at the outdoor bar, but the rooms were not clean, you can't reach the staff on rhe phone. You have to physically go.down the steps.

The only thing I did not like was having to park in the middle of the road to unpack vehicle due to hauling a trailer. Everything else was excellent!!! We will be back!

Nice hotel it has a indoor and outdoor pool and a lazy river pool. This hotel is on the beach but not on the strip. It has restaurants on site one for buffet breakfast with made to order eggs for $11.00 and also nearby ones you can walk to. I would stay here again

I was definitely not impressed with the condition of the room..tub was not draining so had to have some come drain that…the smell drove me crazy I can definitely tell it was an old building I was not impressed…will not go there again…

Rooms were not maintained well. No daily cleaning. Paper thin walls. Would have been nice to know the beach was closed all week for sand recovery. Staff was nice. The location is great. Just needs better maintenance.

We've been staying at Sands for years and love it! The staff is amazing, they actually remember us and they provide exceptional service! The laundry room, the store, the bar and the parking are all pluses for family, adults and single people. If I were traveling as a single woman, I would absolutely feel safe here as well. We come to Sands twice a year and won't stay anywhere else! A+++++ N/A

It’s always great. Location to everything is also good. It’s great having the club onsite. The parking decks have a lot to be desired. There are cars with years of crud on them taking up spaces. There’s equipment in spots taking up spaces. If they want to leave that there then they should move them to upper levels so customers have better parking.

Loved all the amenities. The room was clearly in need of an update . The furnishings were worn. The floor was filthy. It was a disappointment compared to the first room we were given. The reason we changed was because I needed and had reserved a 2 bed room but had gotten one bed instead.

This was the best room on the property room 1240 the room and kitchen and full size fridge all the amenities were great! totally enjoyed our mothers day weekend here and are eagerly wanting to go back! even had a washer & dryer and plenty of hot showers. Chris & Brooke were the Ocean Annies best bartenders!! Thank you so much!

The air stopped working the day after we got there, and we found bugs in the room, the room was barely cleaned, my 2 year olds feet was black from walking barefoot in the room.

We are waiting to hear if our night with the bedbugs will be comped. The hotel is doing an "internal investigation" and told us they will follow-up. We appreciated the pool, the beach bar and the beachfront property - but everything else about the hotel was subpar. Both rooms were poorly maintained. I suggest this hotel only if your plans are to beach & sleep.

Ive rented from this place twice, 2nd time not realizing it was the same place that I was disappointed in a few years beforehand. The pics fool you to believe its nice, convenient, plenty of amenities, and up to date. The place is so outdated, and the rooms are on the scale of being worse than Motel 6. Each room is owned by individuals and it shows the owners dont care. I wish Expedia had the option for us to save each reservation so we can look back at our experiences and not make the mistake twice

I would never stay here again. Our room was absolutely disgusting. The carpet was not swept-wrappers, earrings, crumbs and more on the floor. The carpeting was clearly old and stained. The ceiling was cracked and stained (???). The toilet set was sticky—I don’t even want to know. The shower curtain did not stay closed because I believe the rod was broken. Only perk is that there was an ocean view. You are very close to neighbors. Hope you love the smell of weed!

The resort is older, but taken care of. Our room was clean and the view of the beach from our balcony was great. Would definitely stay there again. Staff extremely friendly!

We loved it! Myrtle beaches best live bands perform there and they have a night club. They have multiple pools, hot tubs, lazy river, restaurants, and gift shops. The room was nice and had a great view of the ocean and we weren't oceanfront. Everyone was so helpful. It was like they thought of everything!

Our room was in Oceanview efficiency which was tucked back in the back corner, so the view was partially obstructed. The room was pretty worn and not like the advertised pictures. Upon arrival there was no shower curtain and some dirty rags left on the counter. I tried calling the front desk, however the phone did not work, so I went down to the front desk and they said they would send somebody up to hang a shower curtain. Staff was friendly and amenities were great. On-site restaurant, convenience store and live entertainment. Literally just steps to the beach.

View of ocean was beautiful, bars of plenty, great food at hotel restaurants, pools great! Walk directly onto beach. Which is amazing. But....our room was bigger than we thought...which was great.... set up good...but the floors were nasty. Disappointed in that.

Room was not well maintained and there was a lot of mold. Front desk did move me to another room. It was slightly better maintained and there was less mold, but still not what I expected. Photos did not represent what most rooms seems to look like.

When we arrived and checked in I was told the ocean front room we reserved and paid for was unavailable and was given a partial ocean view room with a small kitchenette. Not what I wanted since we were only there a few days. The room we had was a connecting room that had no insulation from the door, could hear everything from loud music, t.v's, talking.... at one point someone tried opening our door late at night. I should have went back down and insisted on another room but after a long travel day we were beat. On the last day we were told that people own and rent out the rooms ( some like apartments). I did not realize that this was not a true resort/hotel and would not have choose this. Very disappointed.

Carpet was very old and not the cleanest but overall it wasn’t dirty. The beds were awful. Very uncomfortable. The room definitely needed updating. The elevators and hallways wreaked of marijuana.

The location of the beach was great. You are on the beach and Ocean Annie's is too. The place was a little loud and wild. Did not have adequate staff for check- ins. Building outdated but the value did reflect that.

Just very old and outdated. Rooms were very noisy. We had neighbors that were up all night and we could even hear their conversations, had to keep tvs tuned up to drown out noise. Elevators smelled like smoke everywhere. Staff were all very friendly. Parking garage spaces were pretty tight but manageable. Would not stay here again.

The breakfast was great, the place could have been cleaner. As far as the room, it wasn't clean, there was dirt and trash on the floors, the bathroom had mold in it. Maybe you just need a new manager to over see the cleaning part of the hotel.

Liked the way we were received upon arrival. Everyone spoke and was greeted with smiles. Check in was efficient and the room was nice. Enjoyed the oceanfront view because we could see the whole area instead of a side view. Will book again!! No signs to tell you to turn in the parking garage. People had to back up and others had to pull to the side,.then figure out where need to go park upstairs

Ocean Annie’s is great and the Karokee nightly in the lounge is always fun. The hotel hasn’t been updated in over 30 years..that being said my family still loves to visit for the location.

Rooms are very old. Room we had first had a water leak from kitchen sink. Guy came put a towel around sink where we couldn't use it. We supposed to have a queen bed, but had a full bed. The 2nd bdrm wasn't actually a two bedroom it was dining room area where the converted it into a make shift room. Last straw, bed bugs. During most of our day we visited 3 different rooms for each situation. Finally got one that was much better. Staff was very accommodating. Definitely needs renovations. Best part was the bar.

The pools, lazyvriver abd hot tubs were great. However the room was definitely up to par. The Kitchen and bathroom was dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were dirty.

First night we were put in wrong room. We finally got that fixed but it wasn't the right room. Room was dirty and was never cleaned during our stay. Had to call several times and request towels. Front desk worker on initial check in was very rude and unfriendly. We wil not ever book here again.

Bathroom was not a good cleaning job & i hate finding random hairs all over. Just felt old and itchy there. Bed was nothing but noise/squeaky and would plop up matter how soft & lightly you sat down. Balcony was a very nice view. Pool was nice, could also use cleaning. Staff was absolutely amazing! Im glad it was only for some hours and not multiple nights. Place just overall seems outdated and could use some renovations and proper cleaning.

This trip from the beginning was horrible. Check in was 4. I got there at 405. Bc the Hotel had issues, I couldn’t get into my room until 715. Also I paid for an ocean view rm, and the view I could see was a parking garage. The inside pool & jacuzzi was always too filthy for me to get in. The room walls were filthy. This hotel, definitely need an upgrade. The bar was the best!!!

We stayed on the condo side of the property so I'm only reviewing that. We got to the room and there were 2 large garbage bags, full, on the floor just outside of our room. These stayed for a day and a half. The room was very old and outdated. The bathroom was the worst. Dirty, patched holes all over, moldy ceiling and shower. Garbage still in the room from the prior guests when we arrived. Paid to upgrade to an ocean front room. Very disappointing to have to look across the pool to see it. Not the ocean front I was expecting. Check in and out were smooth and staff was friendly. I don't do these reviews often because everyone has their own standards but this was such a disappointment that I want to share it with others who are deciding where to stay. I wouldn't recommend the condo side. I can't speak to the hotel side.

fun for kids and clean

The hotel is an older hotel the room had some updates. However the cleanliness of the room was horrible. The floors were not swept at all. Food crumbs and other small trash was all over the floor. There was a small broom and dust pan in the room. We Sept the main walking areas and it was horrible the amount of stuff on the floor. We then took a wet bath math and ran it over the floor. It turned the white mat black. The kitchen stuff was sort of clean but we washed everything to be sure. All this and we had to wait 3 hours past check in to even get into the room.

The room and hotel were clean as always. My only issue is I paid for oceanfront and ended up with a room that was oceanview with no balcony space to sit or even stand on. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the room, I was told technically it is oceanfront. If I knew I was getting a corner room with a view of the side of the building and no balcony to walk on, I would have saved some money and reserved an oceanview room or stayed elsewhere. This is not my first time staying here and was very satisfied until this happened.

Staff at check in was very nice. Valet service was great in taking our luggage to our room. Parking was convenient. I had a 2 bdrm 2 bth suite the setup was perfect the balcony was a side view. TV in each room, bathrooms were clean except for the roaches crawling on the floor in both bathrooms and in the kitchen. The kitchen counter was taped up with duct tape and wasn’t holding anymore and the piece under the counter was just hanging. Also the toilet next to the kitchen we had to shake the handle to stop it from running. We complained about the roaches and the microwave. John from maintenance who was very nice came up and sprayed. The microwave wouldn’t get hot, so John also brought up a microwave for us to use.

Passing through only one night. It was fine. Nothing spectacular but wasn’t bad either. Some long hairs on shower wall from previous person, needed a better cleaning. Bar downstairs was packed on a Wednesday night with entertainment was cool. I would stay here again for one or two nights but probably not for a week.

During check-in in the lobby, the bar seemed very busy with karaoke going on with a bouncer at the door with a metal detector wand, checking people as entered the bar. Not something I’m accustomed to seeing in a hotel but they were certainly in protecting their patrons. It was rainy and cold (February), so I didn’t use pool or beach. That and the beachfront bar didn’t look bad and might have changed my experience under different circumstances. Other than the flatscreen, the room was very outdated. That in general is not an issue for me. I just felt uncomfortable in the hotel one night and elected to leave as a result.

Found cockroach in the kitchen was bite by a spider in the bed. Will never stay there again..

Quiet stay during non peek season, just what I was looking for! Fantastic price on an oceanfront room and the indoor pool and hot tub was amazing. Beautiful beach but it was unseasonably cold so that was an bummer but the sun coming in through the windows was therapeutic! Older property but it was so worth the value hands down! The staff was very friendly and helpful, which I truly appreciated. However, the actual hotel room was very disappointing. The hallway had a strong cigarette smell, and the room itself had an unpleasant odor as well. The room did not match what was advertised on the website. The furniture and decor were very outdated, and the overall condition did not meet expectations. The bed was extremely uncomfortable — it felt like we were sleeping directly on springs. We also noticed a few bugs during our stay, which was concerning. For the price paid, the experience was simply not worth it and did not reflect what was advertised. Although we were tired and chose not to make a big issue at the time, I would not book here again.

I was not impressed at all! The lobby was top tier but the room that I had stayed in was the 18th floor and was disgusting. Refrigerator kept noise the whole time. Boogers were on the mirror all mirrors were dirty. The toilet had poop around the rim and the tub had a ring of dirty skin cells as I put it all around it.The floor was dirty and it was so dusty in there like it was a room that hadn’t been occupied in forever and the curtains had mold.The walls were super thin.The view was excellent that was about it! I had to get the housekeepers to come in to re clean and I had only been there 10 minutes. I was so uncomfortable I didn’t eat anything in there I was so grossed out and barely wanted to shower. Front desk was super nice and on it! But as I was told, these are owned rooms already pretty much it is what it is. Ohhh no buddy. Oook understood BUT someone within the hotel should still be inspecting the rooms it’s still the property!

beautiful place to stay i do almost every weekend i've stayed probably 20+ times but i left my earrings and necklace behind both in a fabric jewelry box that was open on the bathroom counter this last time and magically they grew legs and walked away and for that i will never stay here again the front desk staff is nice during the day the nighttime workers usually aren't as much and no complaints but if you leave anything behind at this place just know it's gonna be stolen

The hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. The bath tub was filthy and had hair in it and what appeared to have been blood on the side of the tub, needles to say I was unable to take a shower. The sliding door to my room was hard to open and close. I am thankful that I only booked for one night.

Upon arriving to the hotel there were no parking spots in the garage. Had to park in the street due to over crowded parking garage.The garage is very steep so you have to pay attention going in.Arriving into the 2 bedroom suit, The room was not cleaned at all. Management was very slow on getting back to us about our complaints .The appearance of the room was very out of date. These rooms need to be renovated as quickly as possible. The only good thing about this hotel is the amenities it offers. Never again will I stay at this hotel!

The tub kept clogging, I know this sounds silly but it was an important part of my stay, I called ahead and asked for a bathtub I could take baths in. Because the water won’t drain the tub was very slick and I almost fell. Some of the staff is quite rude, but for the most part I enjoyed the beautiful views and the kind staff I did interact with

One shower wasn't working along with one of the access doors to the balcony. The flooring was seperated in numerous areas due to excess mop water. There was feces and a partial raisin cake in a bag under one of the bunk beds in the kids room. I asked for towels and wash cloths and they were never delivered. There were random bugs throughout the unit. The pool was one of the best indoor pools I have ever visited.

Bathroom looked as if it was soo old

Room needed upkeep, the whole room was not cleaned well at all, trash under the bed, hair in the sink which didn't drain enough to brush your teeth without overflowing. The picture was halfway ripped out of the frame over 1 bed and the picture above the other bed looked like it was ripped off the wall. Very noisy at night, slamming doors and you could hear every step and noise out of the room. The headboard was so old the wood was separating the fixtures were rusted. The whole room was very run down.

My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for the weekend wanted to stay in a place where we had all the amenities and also great beach view. Unfortunately, when we got there, the toilet stopped up. Also, the door knob to the door kept coming off. no one ever came to fix it as well as the phone in the bedroom did not work.

The entire place is VERY old and hasn’t been updated in a long time. Furniture is far from hotel status. Felt like goodwill finds and not good ones. Carpet was filthy and so was the bathroom. Moody, rust and hairs. Totally gross. Stunk like smoke even though signs everywhere say non smoking. We were only there for one night and i was disgusted and i have stayed in sub par hotels and this was beyond that. Parking garage is only onsite parking and good luck if you have an an SUV. Height limit is 6’6” but beware because we scratched the roof of our vehicle which is far less than 6’6”. Spoke to manager that literally says it happens all the time and it has settled since it was built in the 70s they just haven’t “had time” to update the lowest height requirement. Had to put in an insurance claim and will be taking legal action. The only reason i am giving 2 stars is because the manager comped our stay. Never will step foot in that place again!

The view was great from the room. The staff was very unfriendly this time around and did not seem like they wanted to help. The room was dirty. We had to take off the bed sheets as soon as we checked in. The floors had not been swept. The kitchen light was going out. The dishwasher smelled and was rusted out. There were not many utensils or cookware. Lastly there were a higher amount of bugs/roaches than past times. I told the front desk and asked for them to maybe spray again for the bugs, as well as change the light bulb and neither issue was addressed. This was our 3rd straight year staying there for New Year's and this was the worst of the 3 trips. We had multiple families staying in different rooms and we all had very similar experiences. Unfortunately this may be our last time with this resort.

Check-in was good fast and friendly. Little disappointed that there was no restaurants open at this time of year. I wish they would advertise that restaurants was seasonal along with a spa since I was looking to have a pedicure at my stay. They did have a bar which I was able to buy drinks and take back to my room. The view was stunning, but most of the amenities are seasonal.

It was an annoying noise allllll night as if someone was playing a respective beat and we got no sleep. This was so uncomfortable. The beds were squeaky and could feel the springs. Wish we could get a refund. Also for management to adress the noise.

There was almost what felt like something biting in the twin beds that left anyone that sat or laid on the beds feeling itchy. All around it was ROUGH, but at least the staff was friendly and we had a private room to ourselves for our kids to be kids and just enjoy. Only other complaint was house keeping that gave a single knock at the door then just walked in unannounced and only announced themselves when they realized we were still in the room. Fumbled the ball on this one.

The stay was from Fri, Dec 26 to Fri, Jan 2. Was a very nice condo and a great week. Only negatives were that the HVAC would not let me change the temperature setting (it was set on 70 degrees Fahrenheit), we could not get the dishwasher to work, and there was some equipment on the roof that was extremely loud that cycled on and off every few seconds.

Front desk and security staff were great. Housekeeping on the other hand needs to do better during checkout cleanings. First room was filthy, very dirty floors, haven't been mopped in weeks I assume. Second room was also dirty, but not AS bad. Housekeeping said they won't mop until after check out, but did bring me a mop so I can do it myself. Bought my own cleaning supplies to clean the suite. Toilet was also uncleaned prior to checking in. Yuck

Room could use some updates. Dresser had cosmetic damage to the top, very bad..bathroom wall paint was peeling all around the baseboard. Parking garage needed a lot of cleaning and maintenance. The men who brought our luggage to and from our room were very nice and helpful.

Property very, very dated and not much upkeep being done, rooms are very dated as well and very, very dirty, I went out and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the room myself, also dirty dishes put back that we ran a load of dishes through the washer. very grateful for a clean bed and mostly comfortable and they have a large laundry facility, and a very large balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean room 421. Breakfast was just okay but for $10.00 who could ask for more but do have to say the restaurant staff was the friendliest then the 2 ladies at the front desk, I know it was not the Hilton but I just expected more I quess .... was our Christmas vacation and was just okay

*buyer beware* each room is privately owned and managed by the hotel. room 401 was a nightmare. This ruined our Christmas vacation as we changed our stay from two nights to just one. Nothing but love for the staff they were very accommodating and understanding and were managing many tasks from many different angles at once. I really don’t know how there’s so many 10/10 stays… I guess no one got room 401. They were able to change our room to the 10th floor which was an improvement. Was uneasy with 3 small kids being up so high but we weren’t on property longer than to sleep for the night and get out of there. Room 1001 or 1002 Great room, good beds.

Room is not clean beyond just essentials. Dresser needed fixed. Smoke from neighbors came into my room, smelled like a skunk, probably pot. Much noise from balcony, kids, and neighboring rooms above and even thru the wall. The low rates bring in low class clientele, some people complained to me about it, too.

Everything was great except the roaches. Didn’t see them the first night but did afterwards. When getting on elevator a gentleman stated he had seen some in his room as well. When leaving the front desk to tell them and show them one we killed. A lady from a different floor said she had killed 7 alone in her room last night

Staff is great, Room not so much. Mold in guest shower room, Their is an odor as soon as you walk in the door. Floors need to be washed, Had to wear sandals in unit or your feet/socks would get dirty. Amenities are good and parking is convenient.

Place is absolutely awful. Rooms were not clean. Rusted safe. Balcony door didn’t shut or lock! Didn’t offer us another room and won’t refund us. DON’T STAY HERE!

The rooms need to be updated

The room and floor was not clean. Toilet was not cleaned. There were roaches and nats in the area where I was studying. I spoke with the front desk. They never offered me another room. I did not see housekeeping until the last day I was leaving. I will those who are in charge what I experience during my birthday weekend.

We didn't stay but one night and should have been refunded for the 2nd night stay. There was a jackhammer and construction all day near our room. We couldn't rest.

I wasn’t able to go because I was in a car accident, that was caused by someone else and they wouldn’t try to reschedule or refund my money. I would have preferred rescheduling for another date, but they refused. Would not recommend on those grounds.

The room had a wonderful view of the beach. The staff were all outstanding and the total experience was incredible.

My room had mold there was a note to go to from dest for cleaning supplies and and when we did they had an attitude. When we checked in they also was rude didn’t explain anything to us parking anything.

The room was terrible needs updates bad and had a very bad odor. We couldn’t even stay through the night

The building is old and in need of repairs. We were not able to use the balcony, which was very disappointing. I would have appreciated knowing ahead of time that our room was not able to enjoy the balcony!

Original room had an obstructed view. It had also not been cleaned. Looked like floor never had been cleaned. The parking deck was tricky to navigate - very old. Also. The only way you could move your luggage was with a bell hop or walk it from your car. Im assuming this was to avoid any issues in the guarge. This however seemed wierd given how outdated the building was. We had to sign pool towels out at the front desk. Sometimes they didnt have pool towels and had to give bath towels. I was very thankful we were moved to an individual owned room. We did find a few bugs roaming around. It seems all rooms have an adjoining door for parties who need multipal rooms. We had neighbors who smoked. Unfortunatley filled our room up with smoke. We had to place a towel at the bottom of the door. The front staff was great at trying to accomadate. They had a very nice looking bar and lounge. The area was great. It was nice not being in the heart of myrtle beach. However. Still smelled pot constantly as soon as we opened our room door.

I had called to speak with the manager in advance of our stay to ensure we had an updated room. Upon check in the clerk saw a note that a room was held for us. However he said it had not been cleaned yet. He sent us to a different room which was dated and dirty. He then gave us the right room. No explanations about the hotel so we had to go to the second tower outside in the cold when there had been an indoor connecting hallway no one told us about. No room cleaning, Had to bring down our own towels to get new ones and the last night the alarm sounded at midnight to evacuate the building. Turns out one of the guests had over loaded the washing machine creating a short in the wires and had to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes before going back to our room at qurter of 1 AM. I complained about the inconvenience the next morning and I was told by the manager there is nothing they could do as it was out of there hands? It is there hotel, how about placing instructions or a note on the washer to not overload it. No courtesy was extended for our trouble and disrupted sleep. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

The room was extremely nasty. The first room I received had a bunch of roaches everywhere crawling . As soon as I turned on the light they started crawling everywhere. The floor was dirty not mopped . The second room I looked at had long string of hairs everywhere Floor not mopped at all . Dirty toilets. Then the third room I looked at floor was dirty there was sheet rock falling everywhere. I would say do better with the housekeeping. Nobody wants to pay money to stay in a dirty place . This shows that you don’t value our money or care what reviews we write or what we think . If you did there would be improvements . Do better . We are the customers without us you will not remain open let that sink in .

Room was nasty. Mold in bathrooms. Mattresses old as I am. Lamp didn’t work. Parking was always an adventure. The only good thing was the elevators worked very fast. Definitely won’t ever stay there again!!! Needs updating bad!!!

Staff was great, Amenities great as well. The downside was the unit was dirty. Floors were dirty, Wearing our socks in the unit turned them black. The plates in the cupboard still had bits of food still on them, Along with mold. Unit needs to be scrubbed from floor to ceiling.

The pictures didn’t add up to the actual room. One of the beds was broken. The beds are super small.

By God's Grace and Mercy my room was ok compare to other guest. This establishment should not be call a resort. The proper name to use is motel. The heating unit didnt work it was very cold in my room. The furniture look very old and stained. The blankets had stains on it. The elevators was dirty. I won't refer anyone this this motel. I wish i would have read the reviews shame on me. Not ever again.

The rooms were not clean, and the overall upkeep is far below acceptable standards. We checked out first thing the next morning. I went to the front desk and was given the manager’s email. I will not be staying here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cons: I stayed in 1023, the room was dirty, the walls were dirty, there was old cup rings on the table from a soda, brown stuff under the toilet ( feces) ( I just cleaned it up I didn't feel like dealing with housekeeping) eyelash on the floor, all the tables were dusty and dirty, this is supposed to be a two bed suite, They use the dining room as a second bedroom and did not put a television in there. This place is very outdated and like I said the walls are dirty I had to sleep the floor It was still hair on the floor it was hair in the bed.. this hotel will go down as a no-go and I've always stayed at nice hotels in Myrtle Beach this one took the cake, the only one that was filthy. I sent the message they didn't reply, I clean my room but I was waiting on the review email so I can put all of this. Do not stay in 1023 until they properly clean it and put a television in the " so called " suite! I still can't believe both bathrooms were dirty!!

Staff was courteous. Room shows its age, minimal guest items eg no plastic or glass cups in the room, very old and stained coffeemaker, rust in bathroom, drapes hard to close due to rusty rods. Just an older resort not at its prime on a beautiful beach location. Don’t think we’ll be back.

First, I didn’t say anything to management. Was there for two nights and just sucked it up. Room was worn. Needed painting, rust on light fixture, just like looked dirty. The elevator hall was filthy. Looks online it had never been cleaned. Place had an old smell to it. Parking garage was nasty. Need pressure washing in elevator. Cigarette butts everywhere. Inside bar closed at 830pm. This place just needs lots of cleaning. It’s old and showing its age bad. Oceanview 2nd floor room had view of the back of the sun deck and pool area. Room 237. View was terrible. Best part. The price because it was off season. Would never stay more than a day or two.

Had to wait almost 3 hours they never called me and said my room was ready. So I went back to the front desk. Put me on the 15th floor. It was steaming hot in there and it was in the 70s. The ac wouldn't turn on, so I had to call and tell them. They switched me to the 10th floor finally after 4 hours of arrival. I was able to take a shower. The bed sucked so I didn't sleep well. But it was a nice place.

I was very excited to spend my honeymoon here at FIRST. We walked in and for the most part it looked nice until we really started looking around there was no tissue, the dining room had multiple tiny ants coming from everywhere. The bed had stains on it and there were crumbs under the bed.After speaking to someone at the front desk they said all they could do was change the room, we went to look into the other room and it looked very outdated nothing like the pictures, rusted refrigerator and I could go on. After they said it was nothing else they could do and no other rooms left and was very rude about it. We were left disappointed and upset the night of our honeymoon. I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone.

Receptionist didn’t know what type of room I reserved had to change rooms twice. Then the room(535), had roaches, room was very out dated, furniture had stains on every sitting place. Washer and dry combo was rusted furniture was in bad condition, mirror in bathroom had rust spot, along with the sprinkler system was rusted as well. That’s just to name a few thing

The staff were incredible The unit I stayed in was relatively clean, very run down but the location was perfect. The room was sub par but the amenities and location made it worth the stay.

If you’d like to party, this is the place to stay. They have a lot of activities to do around the resort, but if you won’t to have relaxation, this is not the place.unless you can afford their spa to get you relaxed!

Last minute stay. Was quite surprised when we arrived close to midnight, that there was a nightclub in the lobby. It was very loud during check-in. The room was average and parking wasn't the best. It was ok for a 1 night stay but definitely wouldn't stay here a week.

You have to be careful when going to Sandles Pub. While the young girls tending bar seemed nice they over charged our tab and would not listen to reason, figured we were out of towners and we had been there a bit so we didn’t have a leg to stand on. Problem was that I had not kept up with the other parties so I was very aware of what was happening., take away from this…. Pay attention visitors are taken advantage of.

Room was dirty, sinks were clogged, coffee maker had mold inside water tank and lid. Marks on bathroom wall looked like feces. Had to switch room on our 6th day of a 7 day stay. New room was dirty, cabinets swollen from water damage, paint peeling. Marijuana smell throughout hotel. Unable to use luggage cart on 6th day move due to bell hop stating they didn’t loan them out. Very disappointing for the money we spent and was charged.

Room was awesome as usual as well as the staff. The only thing I would suggest is making sure that the outside is secure at night from the sands bar.

Room was pretty clean, someone needs to look under the beds. Not clean there at all. Loved our stay, staff impeccable! Security very nice, Sandals is the best not kept secret! We had a blast!
