Overall, nice experience

Thank you to all the staff at island vista. Me and my family really enjoyed the stay. The room was cozy and they are the first resort that has washer and dryer in the room.

The property itself was in a great location. The rooms were dated and could use some TLC. Because of the great access to the beach, the restaurant food and hotel staff, I would stay here again. Waking up to a full view of the ocean every morning made this trip awesome. looking forward to returning in the near future. Hopeful there will be some updates.

The staff were excellent, kind, and fun! The guests were all as well. Making the experience even better. Nothing to complain about. The room was clean and comfortable, a relaxing atmosphere all around, and the beach access unbeatable. Will be back again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This place is incredible.

We arrived earlier than expected and were able to use the pool/pool bar until our room was ready. Staff was super helpful, and everything was kept up very well. We never had any issues during our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Very comfortable

The location was nice,because of the beach access, there was plenty of parking. The pools looked nice. There was nothing special about it. Too much furniture in the bedroom, awkward to move around. No free anything to drink or snack on. Not much available to even buy. We had an “extra fee” upon arrival even though we paid so much already.

The property consists of privately owned apartments managed like a hotel. The front desk staff was respectful and helpful, and check-in was easy, with all the information we needed clearly explained. Our room was large and spacious, with a full kitchen, bedroom, living room, plenty of storage space, a sofa, chairs, and everything we needed. The view was amazing, with the ocean right in front of us. The property has two outdoor pools, a hot tub, and indoor pools for kids. There is direct beach access, which is wonderful, although they do not provide sunbeds on the beach. There is also a restaurant on-site where you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and very good pizza. The prices are fair for the quality of the food. Paula, the housekeeper, made sure we had everything we needed every day. Parking is included, and there is also public parking in front of the hotel. We were traveling with a trailer and a side-by-side, and they were able to provide parking for our car and trailer, but not for the side-by-side, so we used the public parking. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness around the edges of the hot tub, which were a little dirty. Everything else was awesome. I highly recommend this place for families or couples, and we will definitely be back.

The stay was ok but we won’t be back. We booked an ocean view room. We had a partial view which wasn’t expressed at booking. I mentioned it and the staff said since we booked with Hotels.com they were unable to help. After an hour they called and said they could move us for basically double the nightly cost. The front desk clerk did try to make it right but the cost was ridiculous for what we would be getting. The pool was great but I would pick somewhere with more on site amenities next time.

The security was micromanaging my brown children versus the "other" children. Even other travelers that were adults did not understand. He literally stood over my children while they swam. For this, I will not be back.

Myrtle Beach North actually has the exact same address & we mistakenly went to the incorrect address. There should be a statement stating there can be confusion in MapQuesting the address & to be sure to focus on the correct zip code. When I called the front desk, they informed me that this was a frequent mistake by new visitors. I won't downgrade my review, however, because this was an excellent resort.

Always meets expectations

​The housekeeping/maintenance staff in the hallways were very pleasant, but the room itself was outdated and could have been much cleaner when we first arrived. Our balcony was on the side of the building, so our ocean view heavily featured a roof with construction work happening all day. ​Service was the biggest letdown. Front desk questions were met with attitude. When we asked about switching rooms due to the construction, they rudely told us we’d have to cancel and rebook just because we used a 3rd-party site—and we had already checked in. To rub it in, the lady checking us in made sure to say that if we hadn't used a 3rd party, we would have gotten a restaurant voucher for the Cypress Room. We felt like unwanted stepchildren. ​As a 'consolation,' we got free DVD rentals, but the selection was just basic streaming stuff and the lobby machine wouldn't even dispense the disc. To top it off, the indoor bartender corrected my wife in a very rude way. Later, we bought two drinks at the tiki bar that cost a fortune, and one was so horrible we threw it out. If you want a true resort feel, look elsewhere.

Chosen because of location away from other resorts in the "main drag" of Myrtle and advertised ocean view rooms. Check-in was seamless. Desk associate was very friendly. Parking was accessible from both sides of the resort. Elevators were fast. Room was clean and stocked with items necessary for a multi day stay. Wonderful unobstructed view of the ocean from the small balcony. All of the pools were functioning and clean. Nice, quiet stay away from home. Only disappointment I had was this morning when I opened the balcony door, the smell of weed hit me in the face. I did report the issue to the desk staff and they said security was notified of it the night before as well. I enjoyed my visit here and will definitely be a retuning guest.

Booked this room for my FIL and he loved it. The room was excellent and the property was beautiful.

The only complaint is the water in the shower took a while to get warm water

The hotel was nice but a bit outdated. No cable TV in the rooms but they offer DVD rentals in the lobby. Old garbage pails in hallways outside of elevators- these need to be upgraded to nicer receptacles.

Beautiful beach views and plenty of comfortable seating at the pool and beach area. Food was excellent. Location was also good. Only reason I don’t rate it a 5 star is because the facility itself is very dated. Other than that we would definitely recommend.

We have stayed here several times and find it relaxing to be a bit away from the more tourist-y parts of the Grand Strand. This time we received an unexpected upgrade to an even nicer unit than we’ve had in the past and we felt very pampered! Thank you!

Excellent resort. Each room/apartment has oceanfront balcony and fully equipped kitchen. Onsite restaurant didn’t had vegetarian options but plenty of restaurants with 5-10 mins drive.

Island Vista Resort was exceptional. Our condo was very clean and housekeeping staff came in daily with clean towels and to remove our trash. All of the personnel were friendly, helpful and always ready to respond to any inquiry. We had an ocean front condo with a beautiful view. I would highly recommend Island Vista to anyone looking for a wonderful visit to South Carolina.

The room was just ok. Nothing great. The front desk staff were friendly but other staff just seemed to stand around. (waitstaff) There was no information about th restaurant in the rooms. No other helpful information about restaurants in the area. No coffee and only small cups of water for guests. Large trash buckets in the hall were not a good look. I would not stay here again.

Complained about hearing loud neighbors through the adjoining door; however, was told by desk associate that nothing could be done and to check back at 11 am. After the people next door were still being loud at 1:30 am we made the decision to switch hotels. The next day we returned to Island Vista and explained our issue, the desk associate couldn't believe how we were treated and was apologetic; however, the manager, although he could hear our conversation, couldn't be bothered to come out of the office to speak to us, instead he called the desk associate into the office for him to tell us we would get a full refund. A phone call to the neighbors to respect the 11am-7am quiet time, or the security guard could have knocked on their door to do so, or since there were very few cars in the parking garage there were plenty of other rooms available; however, none of these possible solutions were even considered. We stayed at Island Vista 2 years ago and everything was excellent; this trip was the complete opposite, could not have been more disappointed.

The view and sound of the ocean was fabulous. Coffee on the balcony at sunrise was amazing. Having a fully stocked kitchen was great. Couldn’t get the TV to work but maybe it was a good thing

This was my first stay at Island Vista. My friend and I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath standard suite. It was beautiful and looked brand new from the kitchen appliances, sofa and chairs, to the showers! We were in room 808 and had a stunning oceanfront view of the ocean. The staff was friendly, too. I hope to be able to return!

I’m only saying a two because I was at a business conference for the weekend where I turned it into a family trip winding my mom and the kids however the last night while working on a business proposal we loss power for about 4 hours my mom woke up frantic and scared thinking it was an intruder causing her to jam her toe

The staff was very friendly when we arrived late. The room was clean and stocked when everything we may need. The outside areas was cleaned up nightly and set up daily. Rhe beach was kept clean and though we did not use their chairs on the beach it was a very nice set up. Can't wait to come back and visit!

This is a wonderful resort with everything you need to enjoy beautiful Myrtle Beach! The property is very well maintained, everything is very clean and everyone is very nice 😊. We will be back!

It's such a lovely resort. The property is in decent condition. I love the full size kitchen that is in a good quality. The best bedding and the best shower I have ever had. The ocean view gives you the best view of the beach. I watch the sun rise everyday from the balcony.

Staff was the best and also the outdoor space for sunning and availability of outdoor sun furniture. garage parking rather run down in areas but no charge.

Beautiful resort in doors and out! Rooms are beautiful, very clean, and the pools were amazing! Landscape was beautiful and so relaxing where small firepits, rocking chairs, and wicker furniture. The staff was wonderful!

I was only here for one night. I didn’t get to use any of the hotel amenities. The room was small (what the hotel describes as “cozy”) but very clean and comfortable. I plan to stay here again and book a larger room do a longer stay so I can write a more thorough review, but for the short time I was at Island Vista it was quite nice.

Room with balcony overlooking beach was wonderful! The bathroom and kitchen were clean and seemed newly renovated but the bedroom is in need of a makeover. Carpet and mattress were especially in need of replacement and the mattress had so much wear, jog had valleys and was really uncomfortable. But the amenities were great and easy access to the beach was worth putting up with the bed;)

The front office staff was nice, knowledgeable, and straight forward. Room was always clean, plenty of towels & wash cloths, and our cleaning staff was very intuitive: she left makeup removing towellets once she knew I was a guest. Very nice!!

I have been to Myrtle Beach plenty of times, but this was one of the best places I have been to in Myrtle Beach! The room was spotless and had a balcony that overlooked the ocean, so we spent most of the time in the room with the door open and the A/C off. The indoor lazy river pool with its waterfall was a nice touch. We will definitely stay here again!

The location and this 3 bedroom suite were outstanding along with the staff. Our first family Christmas vacation was a success. We will be back to book this location from now on!! If you’re looking for a nice hotel resort…Island Vista is the place to book! You won’t be disappointed!!

The room was well laid out, comfortable, and spacious. The furniture was beautiful. Everything needed was in the suite. There was a kitchen, washer and dryer, and balcony overlooking the beach.

The room was perfect; had lots of space for luggage and excellent views. The staff was incredibly helpful and the pools and jacuzzis were an added bonus. It was an upscale experience with modest prices.

We have stayed at the Island Vista resort multiple times and we will continue to go back there as the rooms/suites are always nice with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, comfortable seating in the living area, ample items in the kitchen to make meals, well kept balconies offering beautiful views and great seating, and large dining tables inside. The lobby and hallways are always nice and clean. The pool areas indoors and outdoors is wonderful and always well kept. The lounging area outdoors is always beautiful and neat. The Island Vista resort has everything we would ever want in a hotel at the beach. We love the beach area as well. This resort is and will continue to be our destination almost every Thanksgiving holiday.

Overall, I loved my stay at this resort. Only stayed over the weekend, but it’s enough to where I would highly recommend it. Great staff, spacious clean rooms, lovely oceanfront view, and comfy beds with fluffy pillows. My only gripe (which is more of a preference, and expected in MB) is the parking deck is very compact, but at least the parking is free.

The Island Vista Resort was a fantastic vacation spot! The indoor and outdoor pools, along with the hot tubs, were a wonderful experience. Plus, the convenient beach access and the charming fire pits adorned with string lights created a peaceful atmosphere. I would gladly return for another stay!

The view was stunning especially at sunrise. Everything was well maintained including the elevator. I loved sitting outside in the evening with the firepit tables.

All in all this was a place we would return to. Would mention the front desk staff all need hugs, they gave me the impression they were in happy since they did not smile much or provide much assistance. The maintenance and cleaning staff however were very friendly.

Microwave could be upgraded as was getting so hard to push button to open it by end of stay my right thumb was very sore. We were there for just 2 nights too. Hot tub great. Indoor pools nice, not very big but it was ok. Think summertime great place to hang out. Beautiful setting.

At the pond of check in, check in was smooth.But I spoke to both staff at check in counter. that was on duty, and one lady that was on duty, never spoke back very rude.Not welcome me, especially when you spending your harder money.

Overall a solid resort to stay at in myrtle beach

Clean rooms worth the upgrade for penthouse condo. Just had a loud party until 10pm at night one of the nights spoiling that one evening otherwise would be 5 stars.

Ocean front view was beautiful. Nightly live entertainment enjoyed from our Lanai.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The beach and the pool area was awesome and the tiki bar had some yummy drinks. The rooms were spacious and comfortable! Would recommend!

The room was very clean and comfortable great view from the balcony. The biggest complaint and it may sound petty but the toilet paper was very rough, so much so that we went out and bought softer toilet paper. Also, the parking is very, very tight. Our car is not very big but it barely fit in the spaces.

The hotel is clean, and the staff are friendly. However, I was disappointed with the food. For the price, I was expecting something that tasted more like home-cooked meals, but unfortunately, it was just like typical hotel food. Even the coffee wasn’t complimentary.

Great staff, great suites, just the cleanliness of the carpets, rugs, hallways, and elevators is a bit worn down and outdated, but this is fine. I like that the resort didn't feel corporate and felt family-friendly. I think if they replaced the carpets, it'd do wonders for the place.

Nice hotel, some areas are in need of an update. Worn areas around the pool and hot tub. The hotel was clean and nice and higher end for the Myrtle beach area.

Amazing resort, outstanding customer service, a breathtaking view from oceanfront bslcony and the room was absolutely beautiful. Lazy river, pools and hot tubs were very nice.

The hotel offered many accommodations to the point you didn’t have to leave the resort if you didn’t have to, I will stay at this resort again.

The on-site food was overpriced for the quality, and a 20% tip was automatically added to every bill. This was clearly noted on our breakfast receipts but not as obvious at lunch, which caused a bit of confusion. Since we only stayed a couple of days, we didn’t use the kitchen, but next time we’d plan ahead with groceries or use a food delivery service—it would cost about the same and likely be better quality. One downside was the lack of a box fan in the room. The AC struggled to keep up, and it got uncomfortably hot at night. Also, the parking spots were way too small. It was stressful to handle the parking garages! Still, the location and amenities made for a mostly great stay. I would recommend Island Vista Resort to others.

It was a great visit

My children love the lazy river and the indoor pool. My only complaint, some of the units bathrooms were outdated. The kitchen is spacious which I love about the units. The breakfast and dinner is good, also Steven at the front desk is amazing! So nice and friendly. Definitely will stay here again.

Island Vista is always the place to stay at North Myrtle Beach. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating there. The food and drinks are top tier. It’s a very quiet and laid back place to stay. Great views and good vibes. All of my rooms are always neat and clean.

Was okay, the property was okay, service over all was mid… check in was at 4 we got the keys 15 min after 4 we arrived at 3… we received no apologies but instead an attitude. Will not stay here again. Recommend somewhere nice… not sure why this place has 4 stars.

Beautiful property over looking the ocean. Had all the amenities you need for a comfortable trip including a washer and dryer in the suite. It was very nice and peaceful!

The one bedroom condo unit was very clean and well taken care of. The building is looking tired and could definitely use a refresh with paint and new doors. The pools are clean but small. The parking garage is tight. They were not accommodating with late departures. Food was decent.

We had a great stay at Island Villas for start to finish. Everyone was very pleasant, helpful. The place was very spacious and clean. We will definitely return for future stays.

This place had all you could ask for, clean, spacious, quiet, comfortable, incredible water pressure in the shower and much more. Will definitely be back!

I loved that we had a great oceanfront balcony. However, the room was extremely outdated! You have to rent DVDs if you want to watch a movie because there are limited channels and no apps. I booked it without knowing that. Also, I was looking forward to the indoor pool since it’s February, only to find out it was out of service when I arrived. That was pretty disappointing. We made the best of our stay but will not be returning or recommending. Let me mention, I’m not hard to please.

WE HAD A FANTANSTIC STAY AT THE ISLAND VISTA RESORT. IT IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! WE WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER. IT WAS ONLY FOR 2 NIGHTS. WE WILL BE STAYING MUCH LONGER NEXT TIME.

Loved our stay! Room was beautiful and spacious. The facilities were gorgeous.

Staff was friendly and professional. Very nice, clean, quiet two bed, two bath condo (recent new showers) with balcony overlooking the ocean (Room 807). Amenities were very nice. Pools and hot tubs were clean with frequent maintenance. Dining area staff was great and food was above average. Fireworks down the beach made New Year's Eve even better. I would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends and family.

We loved the unit and the amenities. However, the parking garage was challenging. We could drive up to our floor but the garage was narrow and scary with oncoming traffic. Also, it made me carsick going to the 5th floor. I would not stay again due to the parking.

I love everything about Island Vista! The resort is beautiful and very comfortable! The decks are big and have amazing ocean views. The staff is so friendly and somehow even the other guests are so friendly. I stayed during September so crowding was not an issue. The pools and hot tub were great, especially during the evening when we choose to really relax after being out and about during the day. I hope this place stays open forever. They have it figured out!

We love staying at island vista, it really is the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in. The grounds are beautiful as well especially at night with the firepits and lights outside by the pool.

The hotel looked great online. Our room smelled like socks & had a large stain on the carpet. One would think housekeeping would notice these things & get it taken care of. Although, I didn't mention the smell & stain to anyone, so I am partially to blame. We had a great oceanfront view & could hear the guy on the green playing & singing. We got a couples' massage at the cabana & it was awesome! The restaurant was nice & the food good, if a bit pricey for the hotel guests.

Checking in was intersting the person a younger person was "sucking on a ice cream" while trying to check us in. He tried to charge me agin the full amount even know I already paid. He made some other simple mistakes and really had no idea what he was doing. He was nice but had no idea. Otherwise everyone was great the room was sooo clean and the staff very nice. I would go back again without hesitation.

Spacious apartment, clean great amenities in room. Clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it. Great for big families too.

The location of this hotel is perfect...its not in a busy row of hotels. Provides a great beachfront location without overcrowding from other hotels.

Awesome location on the beach. The room was clean and had a nice view. The staff was friendly. The food was good also. Our daughter loved the pool and lazy River. All in all a great family spot!

The pools, tiki bar, and access to the beach was nice. Ocean view was great. But someone needs to do some serious maintenance on the A/C units.

We've stayed here many times. It is in the middle of a quite area away from other big properties you can walk two miles each way before it get crazy crowded. Staff is very nice and our rooms are always clean with great views. If we go to Myrtle Beach that would be the only place I would stay because I feel safe and it's not over run with unwelcome people because they have good securtiy to make sure you are a guest.

Only problem was our tv was not getting all the Chanel’s went to the desk they said would send someone fight up waited 2 hrs no show. Called down 2 more times, same response and never showed up. When we checked out we reported this and all we got was sorry. Not good enough.

Our stay at Island Vista Resort was glorious! We were on the 12th floor & had the BEST views! We had easy access to the beach & enjoyed the outdoor whirlpool. The only part that was difficult was the parking lot. Spaces were not wide, area was not well-lit & we ended up scraping our rental car on a wall. This was seriously the only negative part of our stay. We will definitely be back!

The rooms looked old. The beds were comfortable, TV was nice size but the furniture was old and rug was old and dirty looking. Didn't care for ALL the NO smoking signs. That tells me that they have had major issues with people smoking in the rooms. I'm not a smoker but that was a strong indication to me that they had issues in the past.

Just a cool vibe right on the beach!! Can’t miss restaurant and bar too

It was our first time visiting Myrtle Beach, and we absolutely loved our stay at Island Vista. The resort was beautiful, relaxing, and had wonderful views of the ocean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Love the ocean front view! I had a suite, kitchen had salt all over the appliances. Couldn’t use the coffee maker. Looks like it hasn’t been used for a while. Parking is very difficult to park and get out of your vehicle, especially for an elderly person.

Clean room with a great view. My room had a king and queen bed. The living room provided more than enough room for relaxing. Most of all, I needed my bedding changed due to my leaking cooler (don’t put a cooler on a bed) and they changed the entire thing at 5 PM. I was very thankful. I would stay here again.

Excellent! Loved having the beach and both indoor and outdoor pool and hot tubs. Unit was perfect! Full size refrigerator and stove. Fabulous view!!!

the parking was pretty remote from the room, at the opposite end of a lengthy passageway.

The so called ‘luxury’ room was extremely small. In order for two people to get by one another we had to turn sideways. Layout was misconfigured making it awkward to watch tv. No full length mirror. Paid a resort fee and you can’t even get the room cleaned every day. Came to service room on fourth day just because we were staying six nights

The room and property was very clean beautiful. It is very nice inside and spacious and they made sure we had a generous amount of guest toiletries as well as extra towels and washcloths to last through our stay. The only thing I didn’t love was the parking. There was a parking deck but the parking was very tight. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. I would definitely come back!!!!

This hotel is one of my best stay in a while, perfect location, great ocean views, rooms are big and clean. Pool is very good for kids. Restaurant is top notch, food tastes amazing. Reception area is a bit dark, could have more lights, parking garage is a bit difficult to park, less space. Overall highly recommended.

We had such a great girls trip! All of the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed everyone we interacted with in the restaurant. Prices were great too. Love that it’s not crowded and prefer it to be closer to the boardwalk. Planning a trip back this summer with my family.

Stayed with my two adults daughters and loved this property. Great full ocean views, but partial like some other properties. Units are very spacious. We'll be back.
