The Expedia app listed this property highly and they did not match the reality of what the property really offered: no on-site restaurant, which meant no breakfast. The rooms were okay, although aged: drapes were ragged and dirty, no daily housekeeping, se we had to do our own trash, and had get clean towels from the front desk. Served a purpose but detracted from the overall quality of our stay in Myrtle Beach. Biggest plus was the access to the beach!

This place is a great place right on the beach. We had a ocean front room that was really spacious just steps away from the beach! Cabana Shores ticked all the boxes with a quiet, spacious, clean room, and very helpful staff. The beach is also less crowded here due to being a bit away from the larger places either direction on the beach. In the evenings, it's nice to sit out on the balcony and watch the tide roll in! I highly recommend this hotel! Absolutely 5 stars out of 5!

Property has been updated and is very comfortable. Away from all the congestion and noise of tourist areas but just across the street from the beach. No breakfast available on property. So just slept later.

It could have been cleaner. The floors needed a deep clean. Shower still has soap in it. Other than that it was good.

The location, the staff, the beds were so comfortable! The only thing is that there is artificial turf on the balcony and it was wet and kind of "icky", had to keep our shoes on and a piece of the ceiling on the balcony had fallen before we checked in.

Beach access is so easy! Beds are comfortable too. We have stayed here several times. Would recommend!

The staff was pleasant There wasn’t any breakfast. The air conditioning unit made a terrible noise all night, it was hard to sleep. The bathroom door was broken, the ceiling was chipping, and the shower was dirty

The location was great for the price with a nice view and easy access to the beach. However, the property was not maintained well. The outside of the building was very off-putting upon arrival. The elevator was incredibly hot, slow, and noisy. The inside of the room had very visible damage on the walls and ceiling. The bathroom door had no lock and a huge gap when you shut it all the way. The closet door had to be forced open and kept getting caught on another cabinet door that wouldn't close all the way. I was very uncomfortable there because all I could think about was what else are they not maintaining for their guest's safety and comfort.

Kim was at the desk upon my arrival! She was very welcoming to my daughter's and I.. The room was very nice and very clean. The bathroom door is one of the sliding doors and it had come off track. I called the desk to let them know and maintenance was very prompt at fixing it for us. The gentleman was extremely polite and welcoming as well. The bed was very comfy. I will most definitely choose Cabana Shores Hotel for my next trip to Myrtle Beach. Nothing. Everything and everyone was amazing!

Nice quiet place in a good location. We were locked out of the main building (office, laundry, ice) until 0800… wtf? I called the number provided and the dude said they’ll open at 8 … never seen that before.

Location is great, our favorite. It is getting a little rundown. The shower needed a better cleaning, and I am not sure the sheets had been changed.

It was clean and was roomy. Bed was comfortable. Location was good. I was upset that it wasn’t clear that the front desk closed at 9 pm and that there was no access to the ice machine after 9 pm either.

It was a okay stay but staff was not very accommodating at first and lied to me about being able to check in and get in room but after a quick message to expedia they handled that

The property is nice just need a little more updating on the inside and outside The room we got it looks like it was a lot of fixtures made in our room but they didn’t cover up what they fixed like patched up holes on the roof and stuff, and the shower had rust in certain places in the tub thought that was pretty gross

It’s a little dated but with nicely done upgrades. We found it to be clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room and loved the view and sound of the ocean. We'd definitely stay there again. The bed made strange metallic noises every time we moved but we eventually got used to it (or fell asleep), but it was odd

I've stayed at this Inn several times and will be staying again in June. The views are great. The rooms are very clean. The staff are very friendly.

This a good hotel when I got there the lady at front desk was a bet rude. The 3 nights I stayed they never came to make my bed for clean my room the WiFi don’t work they advertise that they have breakfast, but they don’t have it anymore only in the room do not work sheets in bed was dirty

Stay was decent for just one night. However, my 150.00 deposit has not returned to my account. It’s been over 3 weeks now. And the hotel staff seems uninterested to help. Great stay, but isn’t worth the headache. Go somewhere else! I’m sure they’ll refund you your deposit without issues.

I didn’t see any handicap parking to accommodate the entrances.

Location The bathroom was very dirty!!! I was explaining to the person in the lobby that it was dirty upon arrival. I was going to clean it myself but wanted to show them the photos I had taken to let them know what I encountered. The general manager as she called herself came from the back was VERY rude!!! She told me they didn’t offer cleaning services while staying there as I went to show her the photos she went back into her office completely uninterested. Idk if they are under new management or what but this place has really gone downhill!!! I’ve been staying here for 8 years and this was the first time anything like this has occurred. I also didn’t like the fact she wouldn’t tell me her name said there was no one above her. She said she’d send someone to clean but everything I complained about was still the same she didn’t check back and see how I was or anything completely uninterested and unprofessional and I’m sure she doesn’t own the place.

The hotel was clean and updated. The location was far enough away from the busy part of Myrtle beach. There we problems with the coffee maker in the room. It would not work. There was a tile missing on the door opening going into the bathroom. The beds where on that comfortable.

The property does have a cabana and happy hour! The cleanliness was the biggest issue. The toilet was dirty. The shower was filthy. It had hair in it upon arrival and a square on the shower ceiling that was leaking water. I complained and nothing was done.

Property was a little rough but looked like it’s being renovated. The front desk woman was rude checking in and the lady checking out (different person) was rude too. The room was so unwelcoming (no paintings or mirrors or anything) and had busted up furniture. The view was perfect though.

Ok so this place’s only positive is the location but other than that not much else. They keep one person at the front desk and whoever the person was seemed bored and unhelpful. Rooms have thin comforters and the phone, coffee machine and lotion dispenser did NOT work. When we advised the front desk, they said they would get out fixed not nothing happened. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Room looks to have been renovated or something but has ceiling paint chipped and cracked and falling same on the wall look behind the bed floor board just exposed in the open non finished paint with obvious hole on wall behind replaced outlet, sofa cushions should be replaced or washed , no phone in the room ... but the room was clean !! Owners need to do better regardless

Cabana shores is in a perfect location! The beach is right across the street from the hotel. It’s a very quiet area, the employees were so nice It could’ve been cleaner

Like the location, ease of booking, checking in and checking out, clean, one thing I was not too fond of was the noise the metal bed frame made when you moved in the bed. The bed was completely comfortable, just the sound was loud and would wake you when moving. The only thing I can say anything about was the sound the metal bed frame made.

At first glance, everything is clean and in order. Upon inspection, there were a few cosmetic issues (paint coming up in the shower, patches on the ceiling). The view was amazing. Quick walk to the beach across the road. The only issue we had was a dead bug in the coffee maker.

No waiting to check in or check out. The balcony was wet from the air conditioner, so I couldn’t go outside to enjoy the nice breeze outside.

Nothing this property stole 150 dollars from me! It is not a deposit it’s a way to steal your money! I didn’t like that this property stole the deposit and then tried to gaslight me into saying that they already gave the money back which they did not.

The staff were so kind, our room was clean and comfy, and the location was safe! Overall it was amazing stay! If I had to be nit picky the only bad thing I could say were the floors were sticky.

Staff member on check in was one of the rudest people I have come across, a shame as the girl on check out was absolutely delightful but the stay had already been affected by the initial introduction by the rude woman the day before. The room was a disgrace, see pictures for proof. Booked a sea view, had no view at all. No mention at all that there was huge construction work going on outside the property ALL NIGHT. Very noisy, could barely sleep and will definitely be going on for a matter of months by the look of it. No hair dryer in the room either. All in all, not impressed and wouldn’t return.

The location was convenient. Very close to the beach and local restaurants, convenience stores, and gas stations. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was relatively clean. The floor had a sticky residue on it, but other than that, I can't complain for a one night stay.

Room was said to be clean.After entering, we found clothes in the drawers and pubic type hair's in the bathroom and on the floor, mildew in the showers. Inform the staff and left with our stuff for 2 hours. Came back and they said it was clean. Guess what the clothes were still in the dresser. Hair still there.... I highly recommend you go elsewhere.

Only stayed one night but things were good. Clean room, staff attention was very good didn't use kitchen or laundry. Nice quiet area.

I would stay at Cabana Shores again. It is in a very quiet part of Myrtle Beach. The hotel looks like parts of it had been updated. Typical beach hotel. Our room was clean but did have peeling paint on the ceiling and wall. We had a nice balcony with a view of the ocean. We were only there one night to run a marathon. Again, we loved the quiet location.

Staying for 2 nights but only 2 towels and wash cloths given for more than 1 person staying. Couldn't even get more when noticed because lobby closed at 830 at night even though supposed to be open till 11. Tried again in the morning at 8am when they were supposed to open but lobby still closed at 830. Had to wash the best I could with my hands after being on a ballfield all day long! In all my years of travel ball, this was the worst experience!!! Didnt expect the Hilton but didnt expect paying the same price for what I got!!! Definitely DO NOT Recommend!!!

The hotel was amazing! The staff was really friendly and everything was clean and fresh. The views were absolutely spectacular and we were right on the coast. I will definitely be coming back the next time I vacation! My only concern was the balcony door didn’t lock, but being on one of the higher floors it wasn’t a huge concern. Other than that, it was absolutely amazing.

I liked the ease of access to the beach front without having to pay beachfront prices.The staff was very friendly and helpful with anything I needed.lots of shops and restaurants nearby .very quiet at night was able to rest well.i guess the only con I have would have to be the laundry facilities need some updating that's about it.

We also liked that it was away from the main boardwalk area. I noticed the pool could use a clean, but we were there for the beach so it didn’t matter. Also the breakfast area was closed, but we found a couple great brunch spots. (And FYI they have a bar downstairs, but they don’t serve on Sunday;))

I loved how they turned an old boutique hotel into something new, fresh and inviting. Although the inside of the rooms need some help (seen water damaged throughout the entire room) at least there wasn’t a moldy scent or it being an active leak. We were happy about the view and balcony. I would definitely stay here again, minus the renovations!

Although the inside of the rooms need some help (seen water damaged throughout the entire room) at least there wasn’t a moldy scent or it being an active leak. We were happy about the view and balcony. I would definitely stay here again, minus the renovations!

The staff was very friendly. There was a full bar as soon as you walked in the front door. There were 4 of us and they broke our bill up with no problems. Would definitely go back.

Lobby was clean and nice as well but the hotel room needed a lot repaired (curtains had holes, bed frames were peeling, hand towel racks falling off wall, closet would get lodged when fully open, etc.). The room was tidy but not clean.

The condition of hotel room could have been better. There was a broken light fixture in bathroom that should have been better repaired. The couch was in terrible condition. The front clerk entered day of departure wrong so we were locked out and housekeeping didn’t have towels for us. I would have liked an apology but that didn’t happen. She could barely speak English.

I really enjoyed my stay. Hospitality was wonderful, room was spacious and clean and I even was able to check in early! I will definitely make this my go to for getaways!

Perfect location. Not fancy, but a great view of the ocean, nice pool area, nice little bar area in the lobby. Wished it had restaurant open. Staff communication could be better. And it would be nice if you could get the room cleaned during the stay, rather than having to hand towels and garbage through the door. But the location and price make up for any shortcomings.

The hotel is smaller. Nice little bar at front desk. Pool area was clean and well maintained. 100 ft from beach walkway and sand shower. Only thing I disliked is the food ads that were left stuck in my door each morning. Overall I would stay there again. For the money, well worth the rate charged.

It was great being right across from beach access!! The kids and I could just pack up for the day and go to the beach without loading and unloading everything. It was quiet and clean

The staff was friendly and helpful, beds were comfortable, and we were minutes away from the beach!

No complaints, clean hotel friendly staff,close to the beach (with lifeguard if that is important). The only thing negative that comes to mind is as with all beach front properties maintenance tends to be lagging (stained chairs, broken baseboard, chipped table, hard time closing the door, and slow elevator)

Beds very comfy, room had some cosmetic issues with prior water leak - assume from a.c. on floor above. Not a deal breaker. Elevator on the other hand, only one, very old, slow, small and hot. Definitely needs an upgrade, but overall would stay again.

I would not recommend. I mean, i guess you get what you pay for. 5 days/4 nights, room wasn't cleaned a single time. I had to ask for replacrment bath towels and toilet paper. Couldn't utilize the balcony at all as there was water dripping continuously from the unit above. Safe in the room didn't work. Asked for a late checkout, worker at the counter immediately said no without even looking in the computer. I believe the person at the desk also doubled as the bartender because there was never anyone there working. Never saw anyone eating at the restaurant either.

We have stayed here before and it was 10/10. This time, our room had a few opportunities for improvement….the shower floor was crack and had an actual hole in it. The ceiling in the actual room looks as though it had previously had a leak, the patch job was an eyesore and wasn’t done very well. Someone just slapped some plaster up there and called it a day. The door didnt lock and we had to bother the associate downstairs to come and show us how to fix it. I wouldn’t pay $300 to stay there again- if every room was as nice as the first time we stayed here, maybe.

The room was super clean and the staff were very hospitable. My only complaint is that, my wife and I made a reservation and paid for an Ocean Front room. We were given an Ocean Front room but, the hotel is facing front, (ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BEACH!) Also, all of the Ocean Front rooms are directly over the pool.

Advertised breakfast which wasn’t there. Keys deactivated multiple times, just had spinal surgery and was told to come to the lobby each time. Room was clean, housekeeping was very kind.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cabana Shores. My husband and I were looking for a quiet ocean front hotel to spend a few days together before our big family beach trip and we found exactly what we wanted. Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We loved the short easy walk to the beach and the pool area was very comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet stay on the beach,tjis is ypur place!

Based on the proximity to the beach which was right across the street and the north end of Myrtle Beach, the property was an excellent value. The staff was always cheerful and kind.

The room was nice. The only problem we had was the shower door wouldn't stay closed . And it's only a stand up shower . The staff is extremely nice and helpful and we did feel safe.

This is an older, classic-style beach hotel. They’ve clearly worked hard to remodel and update it. No carpeting - the floors are wood-look vinyl plank and the bathroom is updated with new fixtures. The pillows and beds are clean & comfortable. The fridge is larger than most hotel refrigerators and there’s a microwave which I never used. The room safe is tucked away near the microwave. Some amenities need updating. The towels and washcloths are threadbare. The lock on my balcony door was broken. The door handle is worn with use. There’s a bright security light on the balcony that comes on at night; you’ll need to close the blackout curtains to try to block it. When I closed the curtains I found a piece of dirty, plastic molding propped in the corner. The AC worked well; a newer wall-mounted thermostat was dead as a doornail. There is plenty of parking on site. When you check in, there are extra charges for the key, security deposits, etc. I was told that these extra fees will be returned 3-7 days after I check out. Your room won’t be cleaned if your stay is short unless you request it, for an extra fee. Cabana Shores is clean and comfortable. I just needed a shower and a place to sleep. I feel like this could go from a C+ to a B+ hotel easily with some attention to small but important details.

This is a nice place. You can tell that the owners and staff take care of it. Really like that you can sit at the pool or on your private balcony with a great view of the beach. Bar in lobby is convenient. If you want a $800 a night mega resort this is not for you but it’s perfect for just a nice place to stay at the beach.

Love the retro look and feel of Cabana Shores. Enjoyed our balcony beach front room. Will return again but would like larger bed pillows for the King Bed; bed and bath linens need updating, and a few minor room repairs for room 311. Again, we will be back!!!!

Had ZERO housekeeping during a four night stay in any of our four rooms. No desk clerk for check in after 9:00. How about having a bottle of water or two in the room? Really a marginal property for the price. Disappointing overall.

The staff is amazing! The gentleman who is in charge of cleaning around the property has a big job to do! The hallways do need a little more attention as they could have been cleaner, but I do understand. My room was great. The bed was fabulous and I slept very well. I would stay there again.

My issue with this “hotel” is that the quality and the cost do not match. I did come on a holiday weekend so the price was inflated but just spend your money elsewhere. You can get better quality for the same price.

The room was not clean, dirty, hair in the "clean" towels. Stained furniture, not wiped down sink and counter. Missing lamp shade, rusty lamps. Stained chair, missing outlet cover.

The offseason rates were awesome, along with the views.

The front desk staff could have been more pleasant. The rooms needed to be cleaner. The toilet stopped up.

Off season so dining at the hotel was not available. Room could be cleaner. Coffee machine in room did not work. Woman at registration desk was cold, uninviting. Elevator was not cleaned and had an unpleasant odor in it.

Overall the property was nice. I really didn't require much customer service because we were only there for 1 night but the check in process was nice and quick. The most important to me was ... I didn't see any bugs so on that note only , thank you. Location was right across the street from the ocean, which was beautiful.

Great location. Beach is short walk across the street. The room is adequate for a short stay. Upon arrival, the soap in the shower had not been filled, there was food left in the microwave from the previous traveler and there were limited towels. This could be a wonderful place to stay if the hotel worked on their service and paid closer attention to details.

No one at the front desk when we arrive.One person working there sitting on chair do not acknowledge us untill we ask if this was where we check in.He told us the lady will be back in a few minutes.In the room toliet was hard to flush.Open the draw to put our clothes away and the handle came off.Barhroom counters looked like it needed to be wipied down. Used roll of toilet paper was left on the rack.The four small pillows made it difficult to sleep.

Everything was good except the lack of coffee at the coffee bar. When I let the person working in front that there was no coffee (at 8:20am), she told me coffee would be available at 9am. Say what?!?!

Nice get-away for a winter stay. Walked the beach. It is not perfect but we are staying out various properties on the weekend and keep coming back to the Cabana.

The hotel was older, but nicely updated and clean. Some fixtures were stained from age. Front desk staff was nice and accomodated a last minute early arrival.

This was a quiet location and just a few steps from a beach with only one other person on it! The area was calm and peaceful. The room was nice and clean; however, the bathroom baseboards were ripped off and there was some mold in crevice of the shower. The staff was very kind, even when busy! I would stay here again.

I WILL NEVER EVER BOOK ANYTHING ONLINE WITH EXPEDIA!!!! Ocean View SCAM! Made me believe hotel was on beach with an unobstructed view. It’s across the street from beach on busy street. You have to walk through lobby to get to filthy hallway and old creepy elevator. It’s motel style. The parking horrible to top it off we woke up to spiders crawling on bed. Called staff they absolutely did not care. PLEASE DONT STAY HERE YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY CRY!!!!

Ceilings were damaged from water, the AC was very loud, and the showers took a while until it got warm.

No Bistro, no room service, no food at all. Half empty vending machine. Way over priced for no longer having these services.

I booked this room because of all of the 10/10 excellent reviews. The only thing I can think of why someone would rate this a 10 is because they want to be hateful and trick people into staying at a disgusting facility. It was so bad our asthma started acting up as soon as we entered the room. And the ceiling was peeling off in the shower, water spots all over, cabinet drawer wouldn’t say closed and we used the bathroom when we got in and the toilet wouldn’t flush. When we said we needed someone to come to our room, the man already had the plunger in his hand before he even knew that was one of the problems which was a dead give away that they knew that was already a problem with the room

Delightful hotel with great view of the beach and easy access. Friendly team, and comfortable room. Great cocktail bar right at the front desk and good laundry facilities too. Highly recommend.

Ocean views from the room were great! The walk to the beach is very easy. Location is in a residential area with beautiful homes. It feels very safe. The staff were friendly and kind.

Our room was clean. The staff was friendly. It does need upgrading. We did see a bug outside of our room which made us leary. However nothing was inside the room and it was clean. Had a great view from our balcony during the day even with it being across the street.

Staff are welcoming,, facility very clean,, However the elevator is not climate controlled so it can be very suffocating riding it to your room other than taking the stairs. The rooms have hardwood floors in which in our room there may have been just a wee bit of sand in the floor around the beds that may have been missed during a clean,, but it was understand giving that it is a beach front hotel. Overall my room was clean, cool, and comfortable. Nice room to stay.

The hotel looks nice online but once on the property you can tell it was poorly done. The towels and sheets need to be replaced they looked wore out and dingy. They had items looked like(trash) in the stairwell. I took a Lysol wipe to the floor and looks like it has been mopped in a while.The bathroom wasn't very clean Near the baseboards look awful.

A future suggestion for the hotel is to get Smart TV's - this was disappointing as we could not connect to Netflix or anything else. Did not have HDMI connection either to connect to our laptop or Chromecast. Just a basic non-technology TV.

I absolutely loved our stay here! It was cute, clean, had a wonderful view (even the “side view” is gorgeous) the staff was very patient with me when I didn’t understand how Expedia breaks up the charges 😬. I didn’t want to stay in the super populated area of Myrtle beach and this was the perfect getaway.

We had the best time at Cabana Shores! While an older building, everything was VERY clean and had been updated. The location cannot be beat! Close to everything you would want to do but away from all the traffic. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

i have stayed in large and small hotels all over the world. i have never experienced a hotel where there is a curfew on ice and vending! absolutely absurd. why would anyone stay here twice?!- so youd like a cold beverage at 901 pm after spending $200/night? or need an extra pillow or towel?- guess what, youre screwed. and they dont tell you at check in. i guess i need to start asking if im allowed to have ice at any point for my $$$, anywhere i stay from now on. what if you needed something important after 9pm?? -please consider other options in the area before booking here, or make sure you have NO requirements, including standard amenities, after the lobby is closed.-put up signs, tell people what theyre in for!, something....

I got the message after checking the fine print AFTER I already paid! It did. It mention any of this through the Expedia website! Check it yourself! At least tell the guests before they pay that if they are arriving late that you will not be on staff to check them in. We had to book another hotel this evening and here it is past 1am and our baby is still waiting on a bed to sleep in while we wait in the lobby! Poor, poor service!!

I love the ocean view balconies. The rooms are clean and spacious. The area is away from the boardwalk and very quiet. You would need a vehicle to get to dining and shopping.

The location is very charming. Really doesn’t even feel like you are in Myrtle Beach - which I consider a huge plus. The view is just stunning. Just wide unaltered ocean views. Although the hotel is across the street from the beach, the walk to the water is actually closer than some places on the beach. The hotel itself is clearly old, but has been rather nicely renovated. The exterior could still use some love, t compared to many older MB properties, it’s nice. The room itself was pretty okay. It clearly had been renovated in the somewhat recent past. The key is that I’m not sure it’s being maintained maybe as well as the photos show. Properties in MB (esp on the low end of the price spectrum) are used hard. The room had some missing tile trim, the chair upholstery has some stains, etc. With that said, the shower was perfect and had awesome water pressure. The beds were comfy and the sheets smelled clean. The staff we encountered were all very nice and this feels like a locally owned property that someone actually cares about so I liked that. I think for a very short stay this place works. I would not think this would be a long term stay for me.

We were here off season and I liked how quiet this area of the beach was off the main drag. We just had one night and everything was fine. Front desk staff were both very friendly and kind.
