Residence Inn by Marriott Palo Alto Mountain View

Start to finish, the facility and room itself felt neglected. My room was riddled with maintenance issues: the closet door kept falling apart, and the front door was so sticky I could not open it properly, requiring a visit from maintenance. Halfway through my stay, I asked for a room reset, but housekeeping completely missed the mark. They did not clean the bedding or microwave, and I ultimately had to redress my own bed. I also encountered spiders and wood roaches inside the property. The structural issues extended beyond the room. The hotel completely removed its pool but failed to update the website or notify guests beforehand. This was highly disappointing, and after learning that they have no intention of ever bringing it back, this location will be eliminated from my list of stays. Peace and quiet were nonexistent. I was constantly disrupted by a barrage of noise, including dogs barking at a neighboring complex, a leaf blower running right outside for well over an hour, ongoing construction, and loud music. This facility is in desperate need of an overhaul to rise to the Marriott level I normally experience.

This has a great location for visiting Mountain View and Silicon Valley in general. We had an updated room and it was very clean and nice. Staff provided extra blankets when requested very quickly. The facility is currently being renovated so breakfast was grab and go instead of a in a dining room, still there was a hot buffet. The pool was not in use because of renovations, but we didn't need it as we were in town for a family event. I would definitely stay here again due to room size and convenience of kitchens in the room.

The walls and ceiling are paper thin in this hotel. The person above me seemed to be up all night walking the floor. The ceiling creaked and you could hear every step. I finally got to sleep and the trash people emptied the dumpster around 6:30-7:00 am. I then got back to sleep and then the gardeners started with the leaf blowers right outside my window at 7:00 -7:30 am. I gave up at that point and just got up. I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout and the rep was deer in the headlights, not sure what to say or do.

Staff was great at check in...neighbors had air conditioner running all night next to my door...got no sleep..front desk couldnt help and didnt want to...it was the worst..said cintact Expedia for a refund...thought this would be new family gathering hotel.. definitely not...just awful! Front desk checkout was evwen worse...never stay here again

- Clean and well lit grounds and reasonably priced - Friendly 24/7 front desk service and they were all fantastic - Always available ice, infused water, and coffee - Did not use it but they have a laundry room - Perfect location if your intention is to stay really close to Mountain View (it was ours) - Really loved the kitchenette and the extra vanity space between the bed and bathroom - Walking distance to lots of coffee pizza and other places - Lots of lighting options in the room These were just small things that the management could consider... - The building 15 elevator was really noisy and bumpy. I don't know if there's anything they can do about it - They ran out of breakfast buffet items pretty frequently so I think a little bit faster pace with refilling would have been helpful - Construction was happening but there were also work piles and kind of work equipment everywhere and late into the day - We booked with the understanding there was a heated pool and then it was not open Again, these are minor things (not deal breakers) but Good for management to be aware!!!

Additionally, I had woken up early one morning and went to the gym in the main building and startled the one worker awake, sleeping at the front desk. My hunch is that this is why I never received a wake up call.

This was the worst hotel experience for my business travel. I will make sure that none of my corporate coworkers ever step foot at your hotel, honestly for whoemever is reading this the manager should be fired in a heart beat.

WONDERFUL!! I was helped with my bags and the gentleman at check-in was amazing.

When I arrived, it took about one minute to be checked in and sent on my way to my room when I arrived in my room, clean, perfect and cool was told there was a breakfast in the morning went down for that excellent breakfast everything I could ever imagine

Air conditioners in building 15 are very loud. Fitness room is dismal. Pool was drained/unavailable. And stairwells in building 15 had lights turned off! Both of them. This was reported to front desk twice and not fixed after several days. it’s a generally ‘ok’ facility- nothing special.

While the lobby & building exterior were underwhelming, once I got to my room, I was pleasantly surprised. The room exceeded my expectations. It looked like it was newly renovated. I can not recall a time I’ve stayed in a hotel where it was so soundproof quiet. Really exceeded my expectations.

Location was close to the concert we were attending and yet away from all the congestion Parking was miserable. Parking stalls were very very tight and there was no stalls available when we got back from our concert.

Upon check in with my service animal I was asked what service they served. I have never in my 7 years been asked this as commonly they are not permitted to ask that. I felt put on the spot and very embarrassed. In addition the pet area smelled horrible. Parking was $14 per night, which is crazy. The pull out mattress was stained and thin.

Not too close to very busy San Francisco but that's what we wanted, not too far but not too close. It's quite and peaceful, we had a good night rest.

Property was nice, staff was helpful & the room was clean. The stay & the price was great!! Breakfast had lots of choices & was well stocked!

1. Unfriendly staff at checkin. Charged $14 per day parking surcharge not identified on Expedia. When I questioned the charge I was hurried along to checkin. I said I don’t see where this charge is listed and the person said it’s right there, making me feel like I was a fool for not being able to find it. When I handed him the phone and asked where - he couldn’t find it either. The first rooms door would not open. When we informed the clerk, he contacted maintenance and they struggled getting into the room and suggested we get a different room. This room was nice and we enjoyed it til the next day when it was time for a shower. The shower took 20 minutes before it got warm. I will say the maintenance staff was courteous and very responsive. However I will never return to this location.

Although several miles away from SFO International airport, once off of Highway 101, the hotel was easy to get to.

Our room was right on the corner of a busy intersection and road construction crews were working outside with a jackhammer throughout the 1st night.

I got points back worth way more than the pet charge. Almost immediately. Incredible. Staff is just the best at every single level. You will be valued at this property for sure. And the free breakfast Buffett is awesome and Joshua kept it open for people to come in a little later. I mean why throw out the food? Above and beyond!

Also, the pull out bed is very bad in quality and there is no way anyone can get a good night of sleep on this bed where springs are popping out.

The front desk personnel were great ..friendly, fast with check In, and addressed all of my questions. The breakfast was fantastic .. much variety, good quality food, and served hot! The room was very clean and the bed was very very comfortable. The only downside was the charge for parking ($14). I’ll definitely return to this hotel, if needed.

The property is located in a busy and noisy street. The common areas- pool, basketball court, and restaurant area are very tight. The few tables are crowded, breakfast was not fully replenished close to the end of the breakfast time, and the room was not clean

The staff was friendly. Out first room had a sink that did not drain. Our second room had a full garbage can under the kitchen sink that had not been emptied from the last tenants. The queen bed hurt my back. The room was spacious and reasonably priced. I didn’t like being charged $12 for parking. The coffee in the lobby in the morning was really good.

I first arrived on Sunday and wanted to stay another night on Monday but the cost increased another $150 per night so I had to move. There should b e some sort of consideration for guest that wanted to extend there stay at the hotel. Very nice room, very clean and comfortable.

Everything was great except the door to our building ( the newer updated multi story) building was always unlocked with the door ajar so anyone could enter. I would rather sleep knowing my front door is locked

Nice hotel, helpful and friendly staff. WiFi wasn't great due to a power outage caused by a storm that affected the area. Under the circumstances the staff were very helpful to assist guests.

I usually stay at a Residence Inn when I am in this area. I pick either this one or the one closer to Palo Alto. I like both hotels. The staff have always been very nice, helpful and friendly. This one has more street noise but it is not bad. My only other complaint I have is you almost have NO choice but to purchase the paid internet service. The free internet service, no matter what room you stay in is SO bad and my cellular data does not work very fast either at this hotel. It is not expensive to use the paid internet service so that's a plus.

Nice hotel I usually stay at a Marriott Residence Inn if I can. Always a good place to stay. The area is a little busy but a lot of choices when it comes to food and shopping options close by.

Please don't get me wrong this is a pretty decent hotel. But I recently stayed in 1528 my bathtub had hair in it and not hair from someone's head, the elevator control panel has some dried up something on it and it was their for the full 3 days. The breakfast was average, the turkey Canadian bacon was just heated up.

Very clean. Felt safe. No ice machine except at the front desk. Very inconvenient. Needed fresh towels and had to hike to the front desk to get those as well.

My room was spotless. I have a dog, and I'm used to pet-friendly hotels smelling like a bunch of dogs (even with a pet-cleaning fee, which makes me believe most pet-cleaning fees are scams.) My room, however, was immaculately clean and fresh. The front desk was friendly, check in and check out were easy, and the breakfast was actually decent. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Hotel did not meet expectations of Marriot residence inn. My deadbolt did not work so I did not feel safe, especially as a female solo traveler in the first floor with large windows. The blinds did not shut all the way and there was a man sitting in a parked car directly looking into my hotel room. The standing lamp flickered. Overall, not a safe or welcoming hotel. Staff was friendly, at least!

Do you like gambling? If you get a room near highway you won’t be able to sleep due to noise and whole building shaking from passing trucks. If you get a room further away, its a perfect place to stay.

We stayed for one night as we were attending a soccer tournament for the weekend. The room was clean and had a kitchen which was great but we didn’t use it. Appreciate the hot breakfast in the morning.
