Overall a wonderful experience. If you like an intimate place that feels like home this is it. The access to restaurants was great and the shopping area was nice also.

A great location even with a tucked away feel. It was great for a mother/daughter trip to Charleston.

The property is beautiful, but service fairly non existent.

Clean, quiet, quaint . The staff was excellent- Tony and Renee were extremely helpful and kind to us. We were upstairs, would have preferred a first floor location

Lovely building, beautifully restored and presented- great location. The club facilities were excellent Slightly strange breakfast situation- breakfast in a box was not quite in keeping with the rest of the experience

This is a wonderful place to stay in Mount Pleasant SC. We wanted a more intimate experience of this area and decided to stay at the Inn. We stayed in the building next to the Inn and the room was oversized with a small kitchen. The staff were great and accommodating. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Glad we chose here and not a big box brand of hotel.

Room was very spacious, hotel was clean and decorated to a high standard. Would definitely stay again. Before we arrived we were aware that the hotel serves your breakfast in a box which is delivered to your room. This was ok but I am surprised that a hotel with such high standards does this. We have stayed in hotels before which did not have the facility to cook/supply a breakfast so we were issued with a voucher to have breakfast at a nearby location. This would have been a better option but not sure if this is an option available to the hotel. Am assuming that the breakfast is ordered and delivered from a location which may not be close to the hotel?
- 5/5
Super nice area just outside of downtown Charleston in a charming traditional neighborhood. Nice staff, beautiful room and balcony. Restaurant downstairs was a bonus. I didn't get to take advantage of the nearby pool as it was too cold. I'd love to stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and room. Loved the balcony. Great location, easy access to the main roads, but located off the beaten path in a nice area of town. Nikki, the manager on duty, was fantastic; pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. She made our stay all the more special. Nothing, all good.

The breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable. Large shower was great. Noisy fridge, sticky floor, breakfast in a box was not that cool, delicious but felt like an after thought. When we saw a sheet drying on the stairs while checking in we were wondering what was going on. But great staff, and great location we will return but probably a different room. We were on the third floor.

Cute, quaint. Would stay again. Staff great. Mattress terribly soft, staff would have moved us if there had been another suite available. Breakfasts brought to room each morning. Neighborhood safe and friendly. Bathroom cabinet could be touched up.

Unique place with character and close proximity to bridge to Charleston and Shem Creek

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! During an unusual snow event in Charleston, as a local that lives 30 minutes from work, I needed to stay close to my office. The staff was AMAZING, especially AMY! She went above and beyond to make sure I was ok during the storm! The rooms are sooooo cozy and comfortable.

We had a lovely large room at the Inn. The area around the Inn was quiet, as residential. The restaurant located within was very nice with great food selections and friendly staff. Even the housekeeping staff were very accommodating and made our stay very pleasant. We would definitely return to the Inn at I’ON should we be in the area of Charleston again.
- 5/5
Wonderful little niche hotel and hope to stay there again when visiting our daughter in Mt. Pleasant.

- 5/5
We loved it!
- 5/5
My wife loved our stay here. Very cozy ,wonderful neighborhood thats very accessable to Charleston etc.
- 5/5
Check in was a bit confusing, however after we got past that…the room was very comfortable and clean. Loved our balcony! The area and location was great, very walkable and felt very safe. The “club” where the gym is was especially impressive with several pools, work out areas and restaurant. Would definitely come back for another stay.
- 5/5
My husband and I went for my 50th birthday and had a wonderful time there. The suite was beautiful and very clean. The service was amazing. We loved it!!!! We will definitely be back!!!! Thank you so much for a beautiful stay!!!!
- 5/5
Beautiful area, hotel was lovely. Every one was friendly and helpful. Hotel bed and room were comfortable. A little more traffic then we thought there would be. Still, a very nice neighborhood. Would stay again.
- 5/5
It was only 20 minutes from activities in downtown Charleston.
- 5/5
Great alternative to the "chain" hotels. This is like staying in a fabulous guest room of your friend's lovely home. Staff is super nice, helpful and accommodating. They bring you breakfast to order every morning. It's located just inside I'On off Matthis Ferry Rd. Walk to coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, etc. Couldn't be happier with our stay. Will definitely come back when we're next in Mt Pleasant.
- 5/5
We booked here because of the reviews. Honestly it was absolutely perfect, from the rooms to the quaintness to the exceptional staff. They went out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. We went into Charleston one morning, meaning to stay the entire day, left after 2 hours because I’On is far quainter than Charleston. Don’t even hesitate to book here! We will be returning
- 5/5
There’s a restaurant/bar on the lower floor of the Main House and I can very faintly hear activity. That’s not a bother to me at all and the Inn provides a noise machine in the room. It was nice to walk next door to watch the game and have a drink. Breakfast is included in your stay and is delivered to your room. Since our room has a patio, we can enjoy it al fresco. I’d 10/10 book again and extend my stay!
- 5/5
This was a lovely little Inn. We will be back.
- 5/5
The room was excellent because, not only was it spotless, but the character or ambience was enchanting due to the moulding, wainscoting, light and airy feel from the soft pastel walls and the wall of windows as you enter the balcony porch.
- 5/5
Wonderful and friendly staff. Very comfortable suite with kitchen. The bathroom was a bit small for a suite but otherwise we were very satisfied. The adult pool is gorgeous and was nearly empty, even though it’s summer. Very convenient location to Charleston and a beautiful neighborhood in Mount Pleasant. Will definitely be back.
- 4/5
Expedia “over charged the rate” by $65 per night or $130 for 2 nights. Hotel is convenient, quiet, and in a nice area of town
- 5/5
Excellent Hotel, Great Staff 10/10 Would Recommend.
- 5/5
Breakfast delivered and included in the cost. The no contact unless needed. Very friendly helpful staff and beautiful room and amenities.
- 5/5
Great location. Close to many Charleston attractions. Located in a very nice quite neighborhood. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Will definitely be back!!! Thank you!
- 5/5
Employees extremely helpful.
- 5/5
Evevything was great if there was a way to give this place 6 stars we would just wonderful!
- 5/5
Loved the way it was furnished and decorated.!
- 5/5
.better than most $800 per night rooms you would reserve in downtown Charleston.
- 5/5
Fun place to stay.
- 3/5
It's unfortunate because I really wanted to love this place. Very overrated. Confusion at check-in. Strange smell in room. No breakfast. Filthy area in back of restaurant readily seen when you park (in the super small lot). I'ON is cute but hard to get anything for dinner. And confusion at checkout to top it all off. There are much better places to stay.
- 5/5
This is a great place with tons of character in a cute neighborhood. The room was HUGE, and well updated with a clean, modern touch that kept the historical charm. The restaurant attached was great for dinner as well. It was quiet as well. I'll stay here again for sure!
- 5/5
Very nice and comfortable accommodations. Amy was wonderful and so helpful when we were locked out…twice. 😂
- 4/5
B&B was very nice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Stanley, chef, was fantastic and very talented. Had some bugs in bathroom, and vent on ceiling in bathroom has not been cleaned in months, that was pretty nasty. Bed comfortable and neighborhood where inn is located is just beautiful. Parking very tight and traffic heavy through the area.
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay at The Inn at I’on! The staff were so friendly and inviting. When we entered the first thing noticed was the cleanliness. Our room was comfortable and quite. Breakfast was delicious and on time. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Location was great and breakfast was delicious! Will be returning
- 5/5
One of the most beautiful and comfortable places we have ever stayed. Didn’t want to get out of the comfy bed! Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, lovely area. Breakfast was included and they were plentiful and delicious
- 5/5
I was impressed with our room. Great space. Loved the high ceilings and wide crown molding, Had a full kitchen. Room was nice and clean. Would highly recommend. We had an event to attend in the Isle of Palms so it was easy to drive there from this location. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Great experience beautifully appointed room Would highly recommend and stay there again when in Mt Pleasant
- 5/5
We had such a good time in the Charleston area. Mt. Pleasant was located between the city and the beach towns. The Inn was beautiful. The lady who checked us in and the housekeeper was helpful and the bed was super comfy! Thanks for the service.
- 5/5
The cleanliness of the property and the hospitality of the staff were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be staying here when we venture to the area in the future!
- 5/5
Lilly at the front desk was so kind and very accommodating!
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay! Very clean room, friendly and helpful staff. My only comment would be that my TV didn’t work but it wasn’t a huge deal. Overall excellent!
- 4/5
This is a great property for a couples getaway. Wonderful area comfortable room and delicious breakfast.
- 4/5
The property is located in a nice neighborhood. Very comfortable and beautiful room. Nice shower. Towels and sheets were very soft. The walls are pretty thin though, you can hear noises from the room next to you, above you, or the restaurant below you. I wished it had a mini fridge. Due to the pandemic, all communication was done over the phone. I wished the inn had a printout in the room with all the information such as where to go for breakfast, or where to get room supplies, or how to get pool passes.
- 5/5
Very pretty , clean and comfortable room . We had a nice date night here and enjoyed a great dinner at the restaurant on site . “community table”
- 5/5
The Inn is lovely! The suite was comfortable, quiet, and well decorated. As of May, 2020, the Inn proper is undergoing maintenance; the annex suites (where I stayed), are in separate buildings right beside the inn. The Ion neighborhood is very conducive to walking, and similar to downtown Charleston in home style.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay and included everything we needed to make our daughters wedding perfect.
- 5/5
The Inn at I'On is a total hidden gem in Mt Pleasant. It is a super lovely bed & breakfast -- intimate, quiet, charming. Super nice room with antique furniture, beautiful balcony porch for rocking as you drink your coffee, comfortable bed, beautiful and clean bathroom. Our room had a full length mirror, blow dryer, and ironing board. The complimentary breakfast included cereal, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, and the option to have your own bacon & egg sandwich made onsite. You have one designated parking spot super close and convenient. Walking distance from restaurants, gyms, and more. Highly recommend for a couples' trip, honeymoon, or fun little getaway!
- 5/5
Beautiful inn that feels historic although it's been recently built or at least remodeled, right in the heart of the quaint village of I'on. Although the inn is small - only 7 rooms - they give you access to a health club down the road with fitness center, swimming pools and tennis. It's a low key hotel with very little staff interaction which is fine for me.
- 5/5
This Inn was a nice bed and breakfast that fit well with the surrounding homes. looked very historical yet clean and neat. excellent location. Very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Great place to stay, Neghborhood is perfect and the swim club is great. Low key hotel I woild stay here again. Good value.
- 5/5
Loved staying here. I only had two issues. The breakfast was very good, but was the same every day we were there (3). Also, on our next to the last day, as I was looking forward to some time on the veranda outside of our room, there was a couple out on their veranda. This was fine except both of them were smoking and it made it very hard to sit out and enjoy the day. This kind of messed up things for everyone else who might have wanted to sit out on their verandas who did not smoke. I hate to make too much of a thing about this because we loved the place. We will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
- 5/5
Although it was recently built, it has lots of old school “charm”-high ceilings, wide crown mouodings, etc.
- 1/5
The walls are paper thin and we heard the guests in the next room all day and night. The room had a terrible cigarette smell or odor. The room and bathroom were not cleaned well.
- 4/5
Love staying at this boutique hotel. Always a nice visit. Met great new friends having wine on our balcony too.
- 5/5
Good location close to Charleston. All downtown Charleston locations were booked for our weekend and this was only 8 minutes away across the bay bridge. Free parking, good breakfast and quiet. We had a little rough check in because we arrived after 6 pm, which is when the front desk closes so plan ahead if arriving late. They came back and let us in after grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant the Shellmore inn, a great spot
- 5/5
Enjoy staying here....love the location and feel of the place.
- 4/5
Great location with easy access to HWY 17 and north/south travel in costal SC. Assigned parking space, large room with charming retro old-style B&B yet with modern touch. Only real negative was the Breakfast was not what we had expected from a B&B....continental limited choice, but what was provided was of higher quality. Would stay again even knowing Breakfast limitation. Great quiet location yet very near to everything you'd want and access to Charleston with minimal effort
- 4/5
Signed a happy & repeat guest, Leslie Jackson
- 5/5
Found this location online and at a much more affordable rate than anywhere else in the area, minus the standard motels and such of course. The room was clean and well decorated, as well as large but still felt cozy. The breakfast each morning was very helpful to get the day started and get food without having to go out and wait at a fast-food or sit down restaurant. If you do not mind driving to and from your destinations while visiting Charleston, this cozy bed and breakfast is the best there is. The staff are friendly and cheerful. Would recommend you bring a small cooler to keep drinks cold, as the rooms do not have mini fridges. Ice is provided on site. Also, the elevator makes luggage no problem.
- 4/5
The only downside was that we had some loud neighbors that we could hear talking through the wall. Everything else was great!
- 5/5
I loved everything about staying here! The Inn is so charming! Our room was beautifully decorated and cozy, the staff was extremely helpful, and the location was perfect for our trip! One of my favorite places to stay!
- 5/5
We had a very comfortable stay and the Inn at Ion. The accommodations were ideal and the location and neighborhood was picturesque and delightful. The room was very well appointed and had every thing we needed for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was always good and the atmosphere at the Inn was relaxing. The owner was very attentive and friendly. It was a great In and We would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
helpful with our needs. The town itself is beautiful, we plan on going back hopefully soon. Highly recommend it!!!
- 4/5
Great Value and Quiet Stay. Only Issue was that breakfast was not ready by posted hours so we had to go out.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. The Room was much bigger than I expected. Overall great experience and would definitely come back.
- 3/5
Great location, near family in I?on, yet close to downtown. Loved the access to the I?on club/pool. Accommodations were very comfortable!
- 5/5
Great location, room was comfortable and nice, breakfast was yummy and the owner, Jennifer, was awesome! So personable and willing to help make sure our stay was enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again!!
- 5/5
Wonderful! Very friendly staff. :)
- 4/5
We looked at hotels first and somehow stumbled upon this B&B. So glad we stayed. Wish we would have had more than one night.
- 4/5
This was our second visit to the inn. We stayed in a different room this time and loved it as much if not more than our first stay. The porch with the rockers was charming and a perfect setting for my daughter and I to enjoy our glass of rose. The only downside was there was a restaurant onsite our first visit and they have since left. The continental breakfast both mornings was very good. The staff was great, accommodating and very helpful with suggestions. We will be back!
- 4/5
We were so pleased with our stay at the Inn. Jennifer couldn?t have been more personable and helpful! The charming rooms and grounds make this inn a hidden treasure! Minutes away from Charleston?minutes away to relaxing amenities. Will definitely return!
- 4/5
The Inn was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. I was disappointed that it was advertised that there was a restaurant connected to the Inn, but it was no longer there. Also, it was one of the hottest days of he year and he thermostat was programmed to not go below 69 degrees so we were a bit toasty at night in the room. Other than those two issues, it was exactly what we were looking for!
- 5/5
We stayed for 4 nights in April 2018 after a trip to the Masters in Augusta. Faultless stay and superb breakfast. Hope we get the chance to stay agsin in the future. John and Jane Cahoon. Northern Ireland
- 5/5
We recently booked a 2 night stay at Inn at I'on and almost immediately upon viewing the B & B we added another night! The room was outstandingly clean, neat, updated with a nice balcony overlooking a quaint country-ish square for a morning cup of coffee or a happy hour glass of wine! Jennifer and the rest of the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delectable, especially the French toast! The inn is a very shortageasy drive over the bridge to Charleston and we never experienced any traffic delays. We would definitely book the Inn at I'on for another stay in the future.
- 4/5
Everything was good there could?ve been an extra towelsand maybe some hot tea for breakfast
- 5/5
This is my second time staying here and our stay was very memorable! The staff is very personable and had great recommendations for places to visit and eat in the area. Jennifer was very accommodating during our stay and truly loves what she does! The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable! Breakfast every morning was great and made to order! The chef was so nice and came out to introduce himself to us. The location of the inn is in a quiet neighborhood but still central to all of day trips in Charleston! Jennifer also sent us a beautiful hand written note after we left. I could not more highly recommend the Inn at Ion to visitors looking to come to Charleston!
- 4/5
Quiet and peaceful, and a great breakfast.
- 5/5
I rented out the entire Inn for my family while we were in town for my son?s wedding. Every family member loved staying at the Inn at I?On with the beautiful rooms, extremely friendly service, and the delicious breakfast each morning. I highly recommend the Inn at I?On and I will return next time we are in Charleston!
- 5/5
I think I can speak for our family that occupied several rooms at the inn for a weekend wedding that the rooms were very comfortable, quiet, furnished beautifully, refreshed often and well maintained. The Inn staff always making sure everything was to our liking and offered assistance and suggestions on things to do and where to go. Breakfast every morning was especially a treat and deliciously prepared by Chef Owen who came and introduced himself to us on our last day. So many personal touches that made our stay at the Inn at I?On a most pleasant and comfortable one. Additionally, the Inn is conveniently located a short 15-20 minute drive to Charleston. Hope to be back again sometime soon.
- 4/5
Had a lovely stay at the Inn at I?on in the charming village of I?on in Mount Pleasant. A A short drive to the historic district and close to Fort Sumpter. Our well decorated room had a fireplace and a porch with two comfy rockers. Everyone one was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast on the sun porch. I?d highly recommend this inn.
- 3/5
Our trip this year was special because of inn Manager, Jennifer, was friendly, professional - she did everything including cooking breakfast to make the inn welcoming. Our only criticism of the inn is there is very little sound proofing between the rooms which can be disconcerting at times.
- 5/5
Everything was top notch!
- 5/5
This was our second stay at this wonderful Low Country Inn and it was still five star. Jennifer was especially friendly and helpful, plus she served a wonderful buffet breakfast. The regular full morning breakfast was also wonderful and well served. We will return!
- 4/5
The Inn at I'On is a very nice property. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable and we greatly enjoyed our recent stay. However, the recent change in ownership accompanied by closing of the onsite restaurant were very awkwardly handled. Always difficult, the ability to communicate with the Inn became virtually impossible. The website telephone number is still incorrect and aside from automated confirmations it is impossible to confirm, modify or cancel any reservation, or to contact the staff for any other purpose. Once onsite, staff is still scarce, but at least a direct phone number is provided. Hopefully that situation will improve as the transfer to new ownership is completed. Because the property really is very nice and deserves better.
- 5/5
Our stay at The Inn was fantastic. We really appreciated the attention to detail in the room as well as in the restaurant. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We look forward to another stay.
- 5/5
Lovely small in just across the Ravenel Bridge from Charleston in Mt. Pleasant. Very nice area with easy access to historic Charleston sights.
- 2/5
Nice location for the bnb. Disappointed in the service, maid did not even clean our room one of the days during our stay we had to go get our own towels and empty our waste baskets. I would be hesitant to refer a friend to stay here. We will not come back.
- 4/5
We didn't try the dining so I could not properly rate it, but I'm sure it is very good. It was a wonderful visit!!!
- 4/5
Everthing about our stay at the Inn was excellent. We were there for three nights and we will be returning in the future.
- 5/5
I always enjoy my stay at the Inn at I'on. They communicate well -- they reached out to me to ensure I had access to my room for a late arrival. The rooms are always clean and tidy and well appointed. In room coffee and biscotti was a nice touch. They only negative I would say was a very small one -- it was unclear on how to access the wifi system and then when I understood how to connect -- the connection was very spotty and unavailable for most of my stay.
- 2/5
We have been staying at the inn now for many years, including through the recent change in ownership and management. Room just as pleasant as always. Only real complaint is totally unrealistic breakfast hour: starts at 9 am!!! What good is a complementary breakfast at 9?
- 4/5
time. we didn't need them, but I found that to be odd.
- 4/5
The staff bent over backwards to be pleasant and accommodating. Everyone went above and beyond my expectations. The breakfasts were amazing! I plan to visit again in the fall.
- 4/5
We stayed at the Inn at ION for 4 nights! We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend!
- 5/5
Had a great time at the inn at ion. The rooms were amazing. Will definitely go back
